Warriors Ship Hypokits- AlderPuddleVelvet Edition

This AU is a continuation from the JayFox one, where the Medicine Cat position is mostly passed hereditarily. Jayfeather’s daughter Bluebellsong made Alderpaw her successor because she didn't have any kits of her own and he showed interest in the position. As an adult, Alderheart fell in love with both the ShadowClan Medicine Cat Puddleshine and the kittypet Velvet (who chooses to join ThunderClan here and is named Velvetfur). They communicate instead of just dancing around their feelings and get together to the celebration of their families and Clanmates. 

They have four kits together, carried by Velvetfur:

Dandelionshadow- fluffy pale-ginger-and-white molly with amber eyes. Trans molly, lesbian. Named after Alderheart’s deceased sister Dandelionkit. Dandelionshadow was Alderheart’s chosen successor and stayed in ThunderClan with her sibling Birchpad. Dandelionshadow is a kind and gentle cat who does her best to care for all the cats who may need her help. She is very good at her job as Medicine Cat but doesn't really feel any attachment to her Clan. She believes that to be the ideal healer, one must not have ties with any cat (she would 100% support the MedCats Can’t Have Mates or Kits rule in canon). She is well-respected, but her strange beliefs and mannerisms are off-putting at times. As stated above, she is a Medicine Cat.

Juniperstripe- brown-and-white tabby tom with blue eyes. Trans tom, gay. Named after Alderheart’s deceased brother Juniperkit. Juniperstripe and his sister Lionthunder moved to ShadowClan as apprentices. Juniperstripe enjoys ShadowClan life and doesn't miss much about ThunderClan except his family there. He enjoys the darkness and can move very quietly and stealthily. He likes using his abilities for pranks and practical jokes and is a general menace. He prefers being alone for the most part, but makes sure to spend time with his loved ones sometimes. He is a Night-Stalker.

Lionthunder- light gray molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, bisexual. Named after Puddleshine’s deceased sister Lioneye. Lionthunder was Puddleshine’s choice as his successor and moved to ShadowClan permanently as an apprentice to learn from her other father. Lionthunder likes being a Medicine Cat well enough but sometimes wishes that she was a warrior so she could fight. She enjoys talking to her patients and listening to all the stories they have to tell her (especially battle stories). She doesn't stand for fools or those who don't follow proper treatment regimens after they leave her den. She adores all her siblings and tries to keep in contact with the two that live in ThunderClan. As stated above, she is a Medicine Cat but eventually multiclasses into being a Battle Medic.

Birchpad- gray-and-brown tolly with amber eyes. AMAB genderfaun, toric (nblm). He uses he/him pronouns. Named after Puddleshine’s deceased brother Birchbark. Birchpad and his sister Dandelionshadow remained in ThunderClan with their parents Velvetfur and Alderheart. Birchpad deeply misses his siblings in ShadowClan and debates moving there a lot. He is a deeply emotional cat who cares a bit too much at times. He gets lonely easily and prefers to be in the company of other cats that he can talk to. He wanted to be a Medicine Cat when he was an apprentice, but soon realized that he wasn't cut out for the position. Surprisingly for his crybaby nature, he took it pretty well all things considered. He is a Warden.

I was originally gonna do the ‘Draw Your Favorite Warriors ____’ challenge but there were so many ships that I liked that I decided to just draw all my favorite ships instead! I think all of these are not canon but honestly in Warriors the best ships are the ones that aren’t real. (Also side note, I have multiple ships with a same character, that’s because I don’t ever really have a ‘favorite’ ship and I often like multiple ships)

Jayfeather X Half-Moon, Goldenflower X Sasha, and/or Alderheart X Puddleshine?

HalfJay: hmmm sorry gamers... idk about this one... I'm not a fan of the tribe or ancient cats, besides Fallen Leaves I don't find any of them that interesting, and the time travel plot was so confusing and weird that I couldn't get invested in any of it. I think there's potential here with two cats being split apart by their own timelines and all... but like. I dunno. It just doesn't feel interesting to me.

I think what made me go from being ambivalent towards this ship to disliking it though was @/skinwretch's post about it where they said something like "Jayfeather was put in the same situation as Leafpool, and even though it ended the same way for the same reason, he doesn't change his opinion of his mother at all and is just as vitriolic to her for what happened as he was before. So basically it's another case of the male character being given a lot more grace and empathy than the female character, even when their situations are directly connected. It just makes it even more difficult to care about this pairing. It should've been the moment where Jayfeather's opinion of his mother turned around, and instead he doubled down and the narrative fawned over him for it.

GoldenSasha: Hmm I definitely think there's potential there but I don't know if it'd last. I think Sasha being away from the clans is better for her more than anything, and part of the tragedy is that she couldn't take care of her children. I think they'd both bond as cats who were hurt by Tigerstar, but the ways they were hurt is sorta different, yknow? Goldenflower is a clan cat who was ultimately okay after what happened, even though her kids weren't. She was blindsided and had to come to terms with the cracks in her family, and the fact that she backed such a horrible person, and that DOES make her sympathetic, don't get me wrong. But Sasha is moreso a direct victim of Tigerstar's bigotry, y'know? I don't think they can relate to one another beyond being blindsided by his crimes, but Sasha's whole being was basically shattered by him. I can't see the relationship lasting for too long before Sasha just has to get away from clan life as a whole, y'know? Better for her to just leave this part of her life behind altogether so she can heal.

AlderPuddle: I liked this one as a kid. I think I can come around to it now. But to be honest, I hated Alderheart so much on my reread that I just sorta don't care for it by default, LOL. But I acknowledge there's stuff there to make it work. It's just not for me.

AlderPuddle: Sorta meh, AlderHeart is not a character that I care for and I only ever really remember PuddleShine as being ShadowSight's mentor (Avos is a very forgettable arc). It's okay I guess

BreezeAntHare: I sorta think this one is good specifically the Breeze and Ant part. I know they all trained in the dark forest - which gives them some link together- and the idea of BreezePelt and HareSpring being devastated when AntPelt is found dead is a very interesting thought, hell destroyed that damn polycule

HollyCinder: Don't like it. I don't like HollyCinder, HollyLeaf is incredibly AroAce to me. I do not think HollyLeaf would have had a single crush or romantic thought of any degree at all. Also before anybody says, no I don't like CinderLion either. CinderHeart can do better I think. Or she can just stay single and adopt some kids or something. But yeah, I don't like it
