After recently rewatching the series, I became more comfortable with Rosita x Gabriel after watching their Season 7 scenes together. The 7x12 "Say Yes" Richonne episode that everyone loves? Rosita is in a dark place. She brushes Tara off to go beyond the walls to search for weapons and goes to find Gabriel in the church. Her anger at the situation and her anger towards him is a great scene to watch. Gabriel reminds her that the community needs her and asks her what she's going to do with her life? "Anything is possible until your heart stops beating" was SUCH a great line.
Rosita is carrying the guilt of Abraham and Glenn's death on her back when she first seeks Gabriel out in the church in 7x08. He tells her then that Alexandria needs her, but still gives her the freedom to make her own choice over whether or not to use the bullet to kill Negan. He didn't have to.
They should have had more scenes together in Season 8 & 9A, but the showrunners clearly weren't prioritizing what they brought together in Season 7.

Now, as for Alden and Enid? I agree. Poor guy was brought in to be Maggie's romantic interest (which I don't think would have ever worked), so their decision to divert that line to Enid was a weird one and probably only happened because there were no other truly familiar main female leads at Hilltop aside from Tara and Dianne. Let's not forget the fact that the producers did very little to try and age up Enid beyond dressing her in lower cut t-shirts.
Personally, Enid x Marco is a ship that should have happened, imo. Marco was closer in age, and the longer hair he had in Seasons 9 & 10 definitely had Carl vibes. They both deserved a great back story of how upset Marco was at Ken's death and how lost Enid must have felt when Maggie left her behind. Alden should have been the big brother, teasing them both through 9B and then mourning Enid as a sister in Season 10 after also losing the surrogate mother he had in Tammy Rose.
But, unfortunately, Enid seems to have only been made a romantic interest as a way to focus more on Alden in Season 10 ... which was a very odd choice considering how they just wrote him off in Season 11 after 3 seasons of character development.
... I really just need to make a Reddit account for all these TWD thoughts/headcanons. Oops. 🤷‍♀️
Spoilers for season 9 episode 5 of TWD
Gabriel and Rosita being together is so fucking out of nowhere?? They have no chemistry?? I've hardly ever seen them talk in the series before. Istg they just put em together cause they wanted Gabriel to be in a relationship after Anne.

Words: 5,012 Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Fem!Reader Reader pronouns: she/her Warnings: language, none others really? Era: The Whisperers Summary: Y/N is determined to leave Hilltop as soon as possible, while everyone else tries to convince her to stay in hopes of learning more about the Whisperers. A/N: The mystery deepens... and omg Daryl with the reader in this one... the slow burn is burningggg uggghhh Daryl had managed to stay awake all night, and as he saw the pink newness of dawn growing outside the window, Siddiq and Enid suddenly appeared in the doorway. He stood as quietly as he could and went to talk with them, leaving your bedside behind.
Meanwhile, consciousness was pouring back to you more sharply, biting with fierce teeth at your wounds and throbbing with an ache that almost felt toxic. You could hear the soft murmur of voices nearby and when your eyes blinked open you could tell that it was early morning outside.
Daryl’s knife was still clutched tightly in your hand. You allowed yourself to move your head only slightly to look around. You didn’t want them to know that you were awake yet. You were in the corner of a trailer that was clearly used as the community’s medical clinic. The walls and the floor were plain and clean, decidedly sterile.
You turned just enough to see Daryl talking to two other people at the doorway. You recognized them from your previous chaotic foray into consciousness. They were all using hushed voices and whispers in an attempt to not rouse you. Your eyes landed on a design on the back of Daryl’s vest; a pair of wings, faded and half-fallen apart. Your eyes drifted to the broadness of his shoulders and the wave of his brown hair.
You watched as they finished their talk and the other two left, disappearing into the other part of the trailer beyond the door. Daryl turned, rubbing a hand over his face, feet leading him back toward you, but he froze when he realized your eyes were open and you were looking right at him.
“Hey,” he said softly, resuming his faltering steps. “Yer awake.” There was fatigue and grit in his voice from his all-night vigil. “How are ya feelin’?” You surprised him by actually answering.
“Like hammered dog shit that got—forced through a cheese grater,” you managed.
He let out a small laugh and it lit up his eyes briefly. You noticed then how blue they were. “Uhh—yeah… sounds and looks like ya had a helluva time out there.”
“I’m sure I look about how I feel,” you said. There was a pounding on the side of your head where Alpha had kicked you. You made an exploratory touch with the pad of your index finger over the side of your face and your cheek bone. It was puffy and tender. That’s also when you realized that the tip of your finger was black and purple. You held you hand out in front of you and stared at it, wondering if you were going to lose that fingernail. Your eyes next drifted up to the thick bandage wrapped around your forearm and you could almost feel the searing pain of Alpha’s knife cutting into you again as you’d thrown your arm up to block her stroke.
“Nah, I wouldn’t say a mess,” Daryl drawled, bringing you back to the present. “A little worse for wear.” There was a thick silence. “Yer lucky Luke and Alden brought ya back so quick. The docs said—ya wouldn’t’a made it much longer.”
Your eyes refocused on him and you realized his nose was swollen and he had the vague outlines of slight bruising beneath his eyes. You felt a twinge of remorse for hitting him. “Sorry about before,” you murmured, ducking his gaze. “About, you know, punching you in the face.”
“S’alrigh’. Seemed like ya were pretty freaked out. I get it. Wakin’ up all beat up in a strange place… ain’t a good way to wake up.” There was a thick pause and then he jutted his thumb back over his shoulder. “‘M s’posed to go grab the docs when yer awake.”
“Wait—just—lemme go to the bathroom first. All these fluids, you know” you said, throwing the covers off yourself. “Uhh—here,” you said, offering Daryl back his knife.
“Ya can hang onto it,” he said. “Ya didn’t come in with one. And I’ve got another one anyhow,” he said, gesturing to an identical knife in its sheath at his hip.
You wilted a little at the thought of your lost knife. You’d had it for a long time. It had some sentimental value, but even beyond that it was a perfect weapon that you kept razor sharp religiously. “I hope it’s still buried in her fucking leg,” you growled. You set his knife down on the bed beside you.
Daryl looked worried as you started to swing your feet over the side of the bed. You found that you couldn’t sit or stand up completely straight. The pain in your abdomen and ribs was sharp and forced you to hunch over. You wrapped an arm around your stomach and forced in some deep breaths. Daryl hurried around the bed to stand next to you, his face painted with concern.
“I’m okay,” you said, perhaps reassuring yourself more than him. You glanced back toward the doorway and spotted your pack sitting up against the wall. “Can I have my pack? I just want to clean up a little.”
“Yeah. No problem.” Daryl retrieved it for you and watched as you rolled your IV stand and made your way over to the bathroom in the corner. He handed it to you at the doorway.
“Thanks,” you murmured, taking its weight and grimacing a little as it tugged on all the sore parts of you. “I’ll just be a minute.”
Behind the closed door, you leaned over a basin in front of the mirror, turning your face this way and that. You were bruised and swollen across one side. You poured a little water from the pitcher into the basin and washed your hands before splashing its coolness over your face and letting it drip back down into the water.
Then, you turned your attention to the IV again and tugged it out of your arm, removing the tape that had held it there and pressing your fingers over the small dot of blood that swelled there for a moment. You dug down into the bottom of your pack and retrieved the spare clothes you always kept there.
Lifting the cotton smock over your head with some difficulty with your sore and stiff muscles, you finally laid eyes on the dark bruising clouding your stomach and side. The knife wound was bandaged over, but it tugged and throbbed as you pulled your clothes on with no small amount of effort, forcing deep breaths in and out as you moved. You knew the ache and tightness of cracked ribs and recognized it immediately. The pain from Alpha’s blade was deep and ran through you like poison. Still, you did what you could to smooth your hair and tidy up. You felt less helpless, less weak with each piece of yourself you put back together. The only problem was—
There was a knock on the door followed by a woman’s voice. “Are you alright? My name is Enid. I’m the doctor here at Hilltop. Do you need help?”
You answered by pulling the door open, pack in hand.
“Whoa,” came another voice behind her. You looked past her shoulder to see Daryl standing with another man. You recognized him from when he restrained you during your panic attack. “You’re—you’re dressed. You’re—” he broke off, glancing over at Daryl as if for help, but Daryl’s expression was equally as bewildered and worried.
“Where are my boots?” you asked. You felt ridiculous standing there in your socks.
“Yer boots?” Daryl repeated, incredulous.
“You can’t leave,” Enid said desperately, pleading with you. “The amount of blood you lost—and the surgery! This wasn’t a minor injury! We expected you to stay in bed for at least three or four more days.”
Your expression was impassive. “I’m pretty sure that if I want to leave, I can leave,” you retorted. “My boots,” you said again.
“Okay,” the other man said gently, stepping forward. “Let’s all just talk this out. I’m Siddiq. I’m the doctor at another allied community and—”
Your brow furrowed heavily. “What do you mean?” you interrupted.
“What?” he asked.
“Another community. What do you mean? There’s more than one around here?”
“Uhh—” Siddiq glanced at Daryl, clearly unsure how much he should tell you. Michonne had kept Alexandria so closed off, and he wasn’t sure if he should even answer this question.
Daryl nodded stiffly. “Yeah. Around,” he said vaguely. “Ya can’t seriously be thinkin’ of leavin’ in the damn shape yer in,” he drawled. “Ya can hardly lift yer pack.”
“I’m beyond thinking. I’m going,” you said. You gritted your teeth and lifted your pack up onto your shoulder, stifling the grimace that wanted to twist your face. “I appreciate all the care and I’m sorry to have taken up so much of your time and supplies… so if you’d just get my boots, please, and I’ll be out of—”
Enid tried again. “If you leave now, you’re going to be risking infection and possibly re-injuring yourself. It could be extremely serious! You could suffer internal bleeding and die if you rip a stitch! You’re in no shape to be fighting the dead or even lifting your pack for that matter!” she implored you.
She was baffled as you seemed unmoved. When you spoke again, your voice was steady and no less determined. “I will be just fine. I always am. Now, someone please get my goddamn boots and the rest of my gear.”
“Hey! Woooaaah…” Two more figures appeared in the doorway and you recognized them as Luke and Alden immediately. Luke was standing just inside the threshold with a bundle of flowers in his hands, looking gob smacked to see you vertical.
Alden was equally shocked. “You’re on your feet already. I’d say I’m surprised but after seein’ you out there, I’m not really.” He looked right at Enid. “Should she be on her feet already?” he asked, his brow furrowing.
“No! She shouldn’t!” Enid said, exasperated.
“Jesus Christ,” you muttered, passing a hand over your face. Your head was still throbbing. “Where are my damn boots?!” you snapped. Outside, you heard your raven Achilles let out a hoarse croak. He must have heard your voice.
Daryl gulped and stepped forward. “Alrigh’. I think—this is too much at once. Lemme just talk to her for a minute,” he said. “Just give us a minute, yeah?”
Luke awkwardly stepped forward and laid the flowers he’d brought down on the bed beside Daryl’s knife. “We just wanted to say ‘thanks’,” he said hastily, before filing out with the others, looking worried. The air was heavy between you and Daryl for a moment as he paced back and forth slightly, two steps one way and two steps the other.
Finally, he stopped, and leaned forward with his hands on the rail of the bed. “So, those arrows ya use… the feathers on ‘em. They from yer raven? Uhh, from Achilles?” he asked.
He watched your brow furrow, perplexed at the vast change of subject. “Yeah…” you answered hesitantly.
He nodded, chewing on his bottom lip for a moment, out of nerves or contemplation. “He give ‘em to ya?” he asked.
You were still staring at him with suspicion. “He—he molts once a year. Sometimes he brings the molted feathers to me. Sometimes I help him when they’re ready to molt. It can be uncomfortable for him.”
“Mmm,” he hummed, nodding. “Dog sheds once a year too. All year,” he joked, one corner of his mouth twitching upwards.
Your eyes narrowed. “Look, are you gonna get me the rest of my stuff or what? You can’t talk me back into that hospital bed.”
He sighed and scratched absently at the back of his head. “Yeah. Yeah, I know… any idiot could see that.”
You could feel the slight shake of panic starting to rise in your chest again. “Am I a prisoner or not?”
He shook his head. “Ya know ya ain’t. We’re just worried about somethin’ bad happenin’ to ya. Ya’ve just been through a lot.”
What you’d just been through wasn’t even close to the worst things that you’d endured. But you weren’t about to tell him that. People expected explanations if you said things like that, and an explanation was not something you were willing to give, nor did you feel you owed, despite this group potentially saving your life. “I’m not your problem! I’m not your community’s to worry about. If you don’t remember, I told you when we last met to forget about me. And somehow, I still ended up here…” you trailed off.
He let out a wry laugh. “A woman livin’ in a tree with a pet raven saves me from a horde in the middle of a storm. Ain’t fuckin’ likely anybody is forgettin’ that. Not to mention these people wearin’ skin masks that you seem to know about. But that ain’t why yer here. Yer here cuz ya saved two of us again and we’re just tryin’ to return the favor. So, if ya don’t wanna stay here in the clinic, fine. If ya wanna hold onto my knife, fine. But just let us take care of ya until yer a bit more back on your feet.”
“Seems to me like I’m already on my feet,” you said. “I just need the rest of my gear. My boots and my bow.”
Daryl sighed and ducked his head for a moment. He let out a frustrated sigh. If reason wasn’t working, he decided to level with you. “I’m gonna ask ya for one favor I ain’t got no right to ask.” He straightened up and fixed his blue eyes back on you. “Tell us what ya know about these—these Shepherds as ya call ‘em. I can tell ya know a lot more than ya’ve said.”
He saw the muscle in your cheek tense as you clenched your jaw.
“Ya’ve fought ‘em before.” It wasn’t a question.
You were kicking yourself for slipping earlier… when your head was foggier from meds and pain, and you’d said they should have left you to die and killed Alpha. You shouldn’t have said that.
“They killed our friend out there, when ya were savin’ me and Dog. They stuck a knife in his back. He was—he was the leader of this place. A great person and a brother,” Daryl said. You could hear the grief in his voice as a tightness.
You felt yourself softening and your chest ached in a new way, not from your wounds but from the deep well of sorrow that you also carried. Daryl’s voice began dredging it up. You ducked your head for a moment to gather yourself, and your voice was less hard when you spoke. “I’m sorry about your friend.”
“Yeah. Me too,” Daryl drawled.
“And I appreciate the care your people have shown me, but—this isn’t my place,” you said steadily. “And it’s not my responsibility. And I need to go. I have to go.”
It was in that moment, the way you’d said you had to, that Daryl realized what was truly going on. It was something in your voice. You felt unsafe here. For whatever reason, whether logical or not, you felt unsafe. And having felt that way for a large portion of his life, arguably most of it, he didn’t think he could ask you to stay.
Daryl was about to respond, when he heard bootsteps behind him. Michonne and Tara appeared, with Enid behind them.
Daryl turned and let out a long sigh when he saw the women standing in the doorway. You looked on, guarded.
“I’m sorry,” Enid said. “I’m just worried and—”
Tara stepped forward, cutting her off. She looked right at you. “My name is Tara. I’m… I guess, I’m the leader here now. Enid said you’re planning to leave, but I want to ask you to stay. Please. Just for a little bit longer.” Her voice was kind and pleading, but you could feel the panic in you increasing, rising toward a scream.
Your eyes flickered over to the woman behind her and then back to Tara. She had dark skin and long locs swept over her shoulder. You looked back at Tara. “There’s more to this than concern about my injuries,” you said flatly. “You want to know what I know. Daryl already asked.”
“Will you help?” Tara asked, that same imploring expression on her face.
You gulped and ducked her eyes. “I need to go.”
“Go where?” the other woman asked, stepping forward now too.
Daryl turned toward her. “Michonne—” he said in a low voice. “She dun have to stay here. We’ve still got the girl.”
Your ears pricked up at that.
Michonne answered in an undertone, but it was still loud enough for you to hear. “At least half of what that girl has been saying is total bullshit. You said so yourself. She’s one of them. According to you, this woman isn’t. Who do you think is more likely to talk and tell us the truth?”
Daryl ran a hand over his mouth. “She dun wanna talk and she dun wanna stay and I ain’t gonna force her. And nobody else is either,” he said. “She’s been through enough. It ain’t our call if she wants to go.” He was putting his foot down. If you wanted to leave, you’d be allowed to leave. He wanted no part of keeping you someplace you felt unsafe, regardless of whether or not he understood why. He spun around, however, when you spoke again.
“What girl?” you asked, your eyes narrowed and interested.
They all turned to look at you, but Tara was the one to answer. “Michonne and Daryl caught one of them after they killed our—our friend. A teenage girl. We have her here,” she explained, clearly hoping to keep you interested.
You gulped at the tightness in your throat from the panic that had been slowly rising and you did your best to shove it back down. “Can I see her?” you asked.
Daryl looked confused. “Ya wanna see the girl?” he asked. “Why?”
You pulled in a few deep breaths. “Because like you said, I know about The Shepherds.”
Daryl glanced at Tara and she shrugged. “It’s fine with me.” Michonne nodded.
“Alrigh’,” Daryl drawled, looking back over at you. “Ya can follow me.”
“Wait. My damn boots,” you said.
“Oh. Righ’,” Daryl said. “Sorry. Enid?”
Enid nodded and went to fetch them.
“Bring her bow and quiver too,” Daryl called after her. He turned again and gave you a nod.
You stood awkwardly until Enid returned with your boots and the rest of your gear, including your hooded cloak, which you also hastily pulled on. It was ripped and stained from your fight with Alpha, but you paid it no mind. Next, you took a seat on the bed to pull your boots on, but bending over to try and tug them on was excruciating and you couldn’t stop the sharp hiss you drew in through your teeth or the way your hand flew to land over the wound in your side.
Daryl chewed on his bottom lip nervously for just a moment before rushing to help you. He knelt down in front of you and looked up expectantly.
“I can—”
“—do it? ‘M sure ya can. But it didn’t look pleasant and ‘m already here so just lemme help ya,” he said.
Something about this obviously strong man kneeling down in front of you to help you with your damn shoes was entirely unbalancing. You felt slightly light-headed as you conceded, kicking your feet into them and waiting as he laced them up for you. He stood and gave you a nod and you slipped off the edge of the bed feeling a little sheepish. “Thanks,” you murmured.
“Mhm,” he hummed. He handed you your bow and your (empty) quiver. “C’mon.”
Michonne, Tara, and Enid were already waiting outside and exchanged a few words with Daryl at the clinic door before he started down the steps and across a grassy area.
You’d hardly set a foot outside before Achilles was overhead, cawing and making the strange bubbling noise he was so found of. He hovered for a moment on the breeze and then dropped down onto your shoulder.
Daryl watched as your face lit up and you greeted him affectionately. Your smile was wide and open, and for a moment all the tension had vanished from your face and body.
“Hey there, you,” you cooed softly to the bird, scratching gently beneath his shiny black bill. “Were you worried?” He let out a few clicks with his beak in response as you stroked his glossy feathers. “I’m alright. Why don’t you go find some food, hmm?” Achilles let out another happy sound and took off, his feet pressing firmly into your shoulder for a brief moment and then lifting just as quickly.
“What does he like?” Daryl asked. “We can get somethin’ for him.”
You tore your eyes away from Achilles’ graceful wing beats and met Daryl’s gaze. “It’s alright. I’m sure he’ll find something. We’ve taken enough of your supplies,” you said seriously.
“It’s alrigh’. Ya saved Alden and Luke. And me and Dog. Wonder where that rascal has gotten to anyway?” he mused, scratching the side of his head absently. He finally sighed and shook his head. “C’mon. It’s this way.”
Despite the relatively warm morning, you drew your cloak around yourself and pulled up your hood as you glanced around, something Daryl noticed and marked. There were people milling about with mugs and food, talking and perhaps sharing the morning news. You ducked your head as eyes were drawn to you and followed your progress across the grassy space. You tried your hardest not to limp and to not lag behind Daryl’s long strides. The sound of metal striking metal drifted to you from a blacksmith workshop across the way, and the two of you stopped to let a woman leading a horse pass in front of you on the way to the stable. There was so much to take in that you were overwhelmed. You felt your mouth drop partially open. There was a man rocking a baby and a couple kids playing nearby. There were raised bed gardens and wooden tables and a carpentry workshop. There were rows of trailer houses and laundry hung up to dry on long lines.
Your eyes were wide as you glanced around, stunned. You looked up at the stately house on top of the hill and your steps faltered. Daryl slowed and turned to read your reaction.
“Tha’s why we call it Hilltop,” he drawled, wandering back to stand next to you.
You jumped a little as he spoke and your eyes snapped back to his face.
“Sorry. Didn’t mean to startle ya,” he murmured. “Almost there.”
He led you around the side of the main building and stopped in front of a set of cellar doors set into the ground. He paused for a moment, listening, and you could hear muffled voices drifting up from inside. “Ya ready?” he asked, completely unsure what to expect when the two of you descended those steps.
You nodded and adjusted the strap of your pack over your shoulder.
Daryl heaved the doors open and the two of you went down the steep staircase into the cellar. The talking had stopped immediately when the doors creaked open and it was silent as you stepped down onto the dirt floor. It was dark in the cellar with just the small amount of daylight streaming in through the barred windows.
Daryl stopped halfway into the space and pointed toward the first cell as you lingered back by the stairs. “In there,” he said.
You heard movement in the cell closer to him and a blonde teenage boy appeared at the bars, hands gripping the cold iron. “Who’s that?” he asked, craning to try to get a look at you as you took slow steps toward the other cell. “Daryl, who is that?” he asked more urgently.
“Quiet,” Daryl growled at him, arms crossed and leaning back against the wall.
You stopped about a foot away from the bars of the first cell and your breath caught in your throat. You recognized the somewhat lanky, filthy girl huddled on the floor in the corner. Daryl watched as you pulled your hood down and peered in.
The girl suddenly stood, almost violently, and took a few steps forward, gaping at you through the bars. “You,” she said, unable to completely hide her surprise at seeing you standing there.
You nodded slightly. “Yeah. Me.” You forced in a deep breath in hopes of slowing your pounding heart. “Lydia.”
“Daryl, who is that?” Henry asked again. Daryl quieted him with a stern look.
Lydia crossed her arms tightly over her chest, as if to shield herself. “What are you doing here?”
“Did you think I was dead?” you asked her. Daryl was scrutinizing your tone, your body language, and Lydia’s but neither of you was giving anything away.
She hesitated and then shook her head. “No.” She paused. “You’ve killed some of them,” she said.
You nodded. “Yes.”
“Why? You got away so why can’t you just leave us alone?” she snapped suddenly.
Your voice was low and dangerous when you spoke again and you moved in close to the bars. “You shouldn’t talk about shit you know nothing about,” you growled. “The ones I’ve killed, have deserved it.”
“I know enough! We’re just trying to live out there like everybody else!” Lydia snapped.
And then you laughed, a wry, disbelieving kind of laugh. “We both know that’s not fucking true. Keep trying.” You shook your head. “How can you defend her? You of all people?”
At that, Lydia gave you a glare and then marched away and sunk back down into the corner of her cell. You sighed and passed a hand over your face. Daryl could see a slight shake in your fingers. You turned back to him. “I think I’m done here,” you said, and you made for the stairs.
Daryl followed you out, sparing a glance for Lydia as he passed. She looked small and defeated where she sat huddled in the corner.
Tara was waiting at the top of the stairs. “Listen in to them,” Daryl whispered to her as he passed and she nodded. You were already a short distance away, pulling your hood up again and trying to slow your racing heart. Daryl stopped beside you expectantly.
You sighed and shut your eyes for a moment, shaking your head. He thought you looked… remorseful? He gave you a questioning glance.
“That didn’t exactly go great,” you said, perhaps more to yourself than to him.
“I didn’t know what to expect so… ain’t sure I could call it either way.”
“She’s completely closed off. And honestly, I don’t know if you’ll be able to break her open,” you said, catching his blue eyes. Daryl looked back at you, puzzled. “Right… you have no idea—um… with that girl in there? You’ve landed yourself right in the middle of a heaping, steaming pile of shit,” you said.
“Think we already were in deep shit before her,” Daryl said cautiously.
You let out another dry laugh. “No. See…” you sighed, wondering how to explain and how much to reveal. “Alpha is the leader of those corpse-face wearing weirdos. The Shepherds. Or the Whisperers, I think you called them? Alpha is the one who nearly killed me after I ran into your people captive out there. That girl in that cell? Lydia. That’s Alpha’s daughter.”
Daryl’s brow furrowed heavily, casting shadows over his blue eyes.
“Yeah. Exactly.”
“So, is this Alpha gonna come lookin’ for her?” Daryl asked.
You were stoic for a moment, thinking. “If I had to guess, I’d say yes. But it has more to do with control than love.”
“What do you mean?”
You looked suddenly sad. “Keep talking to her. Maybe you will get through to her… She’s just a scared kid.”
“How d’ya know all this? How’d ya know it’d be Lydia we were talkin’ about?”
“Kids don’t last in Alpha’s world. Look, I’ve already said more than I wanted to,” you replied, ducking your head. “It’s past time for me to go.”
Daryl chewed on his bottom lip for a long moment. He wished he could convince you to stay, but he couldn’t forget what he’d heard in your voice back in the clinic. “Yeah… ‘m sorry ev’rybody was pushin’ ya so hard. Ya not wantin’ to stay here any longer—I get it,” he drawled.
You gave him a wry smile as you adjusted your bow over your back, and Daryl was surprised by the way his heart jumped in response. “No. You don’t. But if you fuck with The Shepherds, with Alpha… you will.” And that just about sent a chill up Daryl’s back.

Enid Rhee Masterlist
Tumblr media
you like a girl that has a boyfriend, and she knows it.
Enid Rhee, she’s your best friend, and the prettiest girl you’ve ever laid your eyes on. for years, you’ve spent every second of them admiring her, hopelessly pining over her while knowing you could never have her.
when she started to date Alden, you immediately had an issue with everything about it. even if Enid didn’t care, Alden was a former Savior. you didn’t care how much he had changed and started to help around, people like him never changed inside.
Enid has caught onto your crush, but hasn’t said anything about it. because well… she was with Alden. but she enjoys your flirting. she just won’t admit that yet.
“hey, pretty girl.” you hummed to Enid, placing your chin on her shoulder from behind. Enid jumped slightly, giggling when she realized it was you. “Y/N,” she giggled. “hi.”
“whatcha doing?” you asked, bringing your hands around her waist and wrapping them over her stomach. she breathed in deeply before responding. “folding everyone’s laundry. wanna help me?”
“of course.” Enid handed you a shirt, and you began to fold it and placed it in the shirt pile when you were done. “oh look, this is yours.” Enid smiled, holding up on of your shirts. you smirked, “it would look better on you.” you said with a wink.
Enid hit your shoulder and threw the shirt at you while you laughed and began to fold it. “i’m just saying…” you trailed off. you leaned in close to her ear, “think about it, yeah?” you whispered. then you gently slapped her ass, and Enid yelped, her face turning bright red.
you looked up and saw Alden not too far away from the two of you, staring at you with a harsh glare. you smirked over at him and grabbed a sweater from the table to fold.
Alden didn’t know Enid the way you knew Enid. sure, he know the basics. but he didn’t really know her. but you do. and you’re confident that you can treat Enid better than he ever will.
“well, that was all of it. thanks for helping with the remaining stuff.” Enid smiled at you, crossing her arms over herself. “of course, pretty. always here to help.” you told her. you turned around and saw Alden was still glaring at you. Enid noticed too, but she immediately put her attention back on you.
“well, before your boyfriend attempts and fails to beat me up, i’ll see you around, sweetheart.” you said, and Enid quietly laughed. “bye, Y/N.” she said to you, her eyes stuck on your lips.
Tumblr media
you were finishing cleaning up the kitchen; washing the dishes and sweeping under the tables and counter, wiping down the tables and putting everything back where it belonged.
as you were finishing up putting things away, you heard shouting coming from outside. you furrowed your eyebrows as you cracked the window open, wanting to be nosy about the argument going on.
“no, Enid! stop saying it means nothing, you know it does! because if it didn’t, you would have stopped her by now. but you don’t, and you blush and smile every time. and you’re telling me you don’t feel anything for her? admit it, Enid! you like Y/N.”
your heart dropped hearing the conversation. it wasn’t just anyone arguing, it was Enid and Alden. and they were arguing about you.
“just say it. admit it and we can end this, because you’ve shown more than once that you’re into her. i don’t care if you date her, Enid. i just want you to be honest with me.”
there was silence for a moment.
“yeah… i like Y/N. i really do. i have for years. i’m sorry.”
your heart picked back up and started to race now. she’s liked you for years. just like you with her, and neither of you said anything to another.
you looked out the window again, just as Enid started to walk away from Alden. he watched as she walked away, and then turned around, going his own way. you closed the window and pretended to busy yourself.
suddenly the front door opened, and footsteps began to approach the kitchen. you turned around just as Enid stepped in. both of you froze, just staring at each other.
Enid cleared her throat, breaking the awkward silence. “i’m guessing you heard that.” she mumbled, and all you could do was nod. you couldn’t lie about that. “yeah um… i did. sorry- i really shouldn’t have done-“ Enid began to walk towards you, and you couldn’t finish your sentence as she grabbed your face in both of her hands and captured your lips in hers.
you kissed back immediately, you’ve been dreaming of this for way too long. her lips moved desperately against yours, and her hands began to wander all over your body. she slid her hands under your shirt and pulled you closer by your waist, tilting her head to kiss you harder at a better angle.
your lips felt heavenly on Enid’s and she’s wondering why she hadn’t kissed you sooner. if she knew how good your lips would feel and how soft your skin was as she kneaded it under your shirt, she would’ve done this long ago. you moaned into her mouth and your hands tangled themselves into her hair.
part of you still couldn’t believe that this was real, that Enid was kissing you. but tugging on her hair and eliciting moans from her own pretty lips made it so real, this was happening.
Enid pulled away but her face was still merely millimeters away from yours. she was breathing heavily, and then looked up at you. it was always so easy to get lost in her green eyes, they were the prettiest shade you’ve ever seen. you couldn’t believe she was even real.
she placed her hand on your chest, tugging on your shirt softly. “take me to your room.” she whispered against your lips. your breath hitched and you took her hand in yours, not wasting a second more.
you were so addicted to her lips that you couldn’t even make it to the bed before pushing her against your locked door and kissing her harshly. Enid moaned into your mouth, hands gripping anywhere they landed. they moved desperately to unclasp the button on your jeans and to pull your shirt off in only a few swift movements. you did the same, backing away from the door so you could rip her clothes off.
pushing Enid down on the bed, you couldn’t help but stare at the girl underneath you. you never thought this would happen, and seeing Enid, naked and out of breath on your own bed. she looked ethereal, maybe even more than that. words couldn’t describe how beautiful Enid was.
Enid reached a hand around your neck and pulled down back onto her lips. you grabbed her waist and pressed her hips up into yours, and she gasped at the feeling of your clits briefly rubbing against each other. you pulled away and started to leave kisses down her neck, biting in some places. in one particular spot, she moaned when you kissed over it and bit it softly.
your lips continued to travel down her collarbones and down her chest, and you kissed down the valley of her breasts. you then attached your lips to one of her nipples, your hand reaching to squeeze the other. Enid’s head fell back on the pillow as she released quiet, but needy moans. with one last kiss to her hardened nipple, you lifted your head and looked back down at her, your body buzzing with adrenaline and lust.
“i’m going to make you feel so good,” you whispered, “better… than he ever can.” she whined at your words and managed to whisper, “please, fuck me.”
something in you shifted when she said that. you felt your self control slowly leave your body as you kissed down her body, all the way down to her throbbing clit. you licked over it once to tease her, and Enid’s hips thrusted up against your mouth as she moaned out. you couldn’t tease her any longer, you were practically almost as impatient as Enid to finally get a taste of her. you finally wrapped your lips around her clit and started to suck harshly while spreading her legs apart.
Enid’s eyes widened as she stared up at the ceiling, and moans started to fill the room. you wrapped your arms around her thighs and pulled her closer into you, keeping her legs hooked over your shoulders. your lips released her clit and you licked one more strip over it before inserting your tongue into her dripping hole. a scream came from Enid, fueling your pride and filling you with confidence.
one hand let go of Enid’s thigh and you started to sloppily rub her clit with your thumb. Enid was in pure ecstasy, her head glued to the pillow while her moans screamed to everyone that you were making her feel this good, that you were the one making her scream like that.
Enid’s moans were so beautiful, one of the prettiest sounds you’ve ever heard. you could listen to her moan for you like this for hours. you moaned at the taste of her, and it sent vibrations up Enid’s body. she cried out and her hips thrusted up at the sensation. “do it… do it again,” she whined out. “please… need you so bad.”
you sunk your tongue in deeper, eyes closing as you moaned into her, reveling in the way it drove Enid crazy. her moans were turning you on to no end, you couldn’t help but lightly rut against the bed to get some friction.
Enid’s legs started to shake under your touch and her breathing was rapid — you knew she was close. you continued rubbing her clit and thrusting your tongue in and out of her. her hands gripped the bedsheets, her knuckles turning white from how hard she held them. her moans grew louder and louder as her body tensed up, and then her orgasm hit her. you continued to eat her out through her orgasm. her body soon went limp and you pulled alway from her to let her come down from her high.
you crawled over her and started to kiss at her neck and chest, but Enid grabbed your face and pulled your lips onto hers. you kissed sloppily, both of you far too needy to do it any other way. your hands ran all over her body, worshipping every inch of it.
Enid lifted her leg and wrapped it over your thigh, and you slipped your other leg between hers. you moved your hips down and Enid thrusted hers up, and your clits met in the best way possible. both of you pulled away from the kiss to moan, but you immediately were pulled into each other again.
your hips began to move with each other in sync. Enid gripped onto your back, her nails sliding down your back and leaving light marks. a moan was pulled from your lips before you even realized it. it felt so good, and Enid kept doing it which only made you move your hips faster.
your lips disconnected from hers, “how am i making you feel, baby?” you whispered against her swollen lips. Enid whimpered, “better than he did?” you asked. Enid nodded rapidly, “yes! so…. so good.” her eyes rolled to the back of her head at one particular move of your hips. her words were becoming slurred, you were practically fucking her dumb.
“you’re mine, yeah?” Enid moaned in response, “i’m yours, i’m all yours!” your hands reached up and began fondling with her breasts again. you squeezed them and kneaded the skin, occasionally pinching her hard nipples between your thumb and finger.
Enid couldn’t stop moaning, she was so lost in the pleasure that she couldn’t focus on anything but you and the way your hips moved together. she was in complete euphoria.
“faster!” she begged. “i’m so close. please… faster.” you couldn’t deny her, so you moved your hips faster against hers, and Enid’s moans only grew louder. she had truly never felt this much pleasure before. she was already growing addicted to you.
“come on, pretty. cum all over my thighs, make a mess.” your words brought her closer and closer until the two of you hit your peak at the same time. the room filled with moans while you both continued to slowly rut into each other to ride out your highs. you gently removed yourself from Enid and got into bed next to her. she already began wrapping herself in your blankets.
when you laid your head on your pillow, Enid leaned down and kissed you. the two of you sloppily made out for another few minutes, just lazily running your hands over each others bodies.
she then pulled away, “you’re so much better than him. in every way possible. and i can’t believe it took me this long to realize.” you smiled, “i’ve loved you for years, you know.”
“i know,” she hummed, caressing your cheek. “i have too, but i was so scared of it not working out. and then you started the flirting, and i knew i couldn’t hide my feelings forever. and now that i have you…” Enid trailed off.
“i’ll never let you go.” you finished for her. Enid nodded. “yeah, me either. i can’t imagine myself ever doing that.”
Enid kissed you once more. “i love you,” she whispered, pressing another kiss to your nose. you laughed, “i love you more.”

dating enid rhee headcanons . . ☆
enid rhee x fem!reader
Tumblr media
- enid is definitely very extroverted when dating you, but most of the time she's very talkative when it's just you two
- "should we go on a run?" "enid it's the middle of the night"
- she LOVES holding your hand. it's very comforting to her and she wants you to know that she absolutely loves you <333
- i feel like she would make up random songs about you and explain in those songs that she loves you
- on a lazy day, enid loves holding you close while you both catch up on the sleep that you've missed due to being on guard or on runs
- enid is really good at comforting you. when you have a bad day, she's there to listen to your problems, or talk to the person who made you upset
- you're both protective of each other. always by each others side
- i feel like at the fair in season 9 she'd make you sing with luke (like she did with alden) and would be your biggest fan (she watched your performance and also lived bc i said so!!!)
- for date night she would definitely just sit in silence with you because even though it's silent, it's comforting to her
- her favorite place to kiss you is your forehead or your cheeks. she loves kissing you though so any place is good for her
- i feel she's actually very romantic and is good when flirting with you. she'd either have really good pickup lines or really cheesy ones.
- "are you copper and tellurium? because you're CuTe." "oh wow."
- she was really nervous when people found out about you two, but everyone was really accepting. especially glenn and maggie
- speaking of glenn and maggie, you guys would definitely have double dates
- maggie would initiate it and then enid would agree. double dates would then become a weekly thing (glenn also lived because i said so!)
- when the saviors 'owned' alexandria, you and enid would definitely become even more protective of each other since they would kill anyone
- if enid went on a run with others, she would bring you home something - it was a tradition of hers.
- a necklace, food, random items - anything that you would like!
- overall, enid us a really sweet gf would treats you with so much respect ♡

"Y/n! Wait!" Alden yells following me on a horse I finally gave in and stopped I turned Darling around to see Alden and Enid on a horse Enid's left eye lightly bruise from our fight yesterday "What!" I yell angrily "What are you gonna do when you find him put him back in his cell?" Alden says I roll my eyes "I'm going to make sure he is safe I'm going to make sure he doesn't snap and start the war over again!" I yell. "Go back to the hilltop I'll be fine!" I say Darling beginning to trot away I hear Alden's horse beginning to follow I roll my eyes signaling Darling to go faster she does I hear the sounds of snarls and I stop in my tracks Alden does too look around for the walkers I hear suddenly the faint snarls I hear turns into loud snarls I turn around to see a herd of walkers. My eyes go wide "Y/n go!" Alden yells Darling begins to run she runs down the road "Come on Darling!" I say nudging her and she goes faster "Y/n to the right the safe house!" I lead darling through the woods seeing the walls of the safe house Alden and Enid following behind me "Get in we should wait the herd out!" Alden says hoping off his horse Enid following I get off Darling grabbing her lead Alden opens the door holding his knife "it's clear." He says stepping in I roll my eyes leading Darling through the door following Enid and her horse "It will be dark soon we should stay here for the night." Alden says I roll my eyes tying Darlings lead to a shelf Alden sits in a corner followed by Enid who cuddles up to him I roll my eyes again grabbing my knife "Any of you dipshits bring food?" I ask "No." Enid replies
"Then I'll find some...Don't expect to get any." I say opening the door and stepping out of the safe house the loud snarls now fading away I begin to walk through the woods looking for berries, Animals maybe even a river I wander through the woods looking for tracks or listening for the sound of a river I quickly make it to a road
"I should just go to the sanctuary now. Those idiots are probably sucking faces as I speak." I mumble to myself no I can't leave Darling I couldn't I sigh as I walk down the road giving up on finding food I'm sure I have something in my pack on darling. I sigh sitting down I twirl my knife on the road and just lose my self in the thoughts (Flashback) I pull my sweater over my tank top blowing out the lantern in my tent I put my knife in my holster and I pull back the curtain of my tent and I step out I notice the saviors are gathered around a wagon "What the hell is going on?" I say pushing past the crowd of people I see a body...Arat...I feel the tears formed in my eyes I notice a wound on the back of her head shaped like a spear or an arrow I look over to see Cyndie from oceanside holding a spear dry blood on the tip I pull the knife from my holster charging at her "You bitch!" I yell tears running down my cheeks "I'm gonna kill you!" I tackle her she grabs my wrist but before I can even throw a punch or attempt to kill her Rick grabs me pulling me away "Y/n!" Rick yells "You killed her!" I scream kicking Daryl grabs the knife from my hand  throwing it on the ground "Arat.." (End of flashback) I hear the loud snarls again I look up to see the herd of walkers my eyes go wide as I notice them coming towards me I get up and I start running "Don't let her get away." I hear something snarl I run into the woods hearing the sound of a horse "Y/n!" I hear Alden yell I look over to see Alden on his horse and Enid on Darling I run over to them and hop on Darling "Go!" I yell the horses begin to run away from the herd "Next right we can take the back way to the sanctuary!" I yell Alden    signals for his horse to go faster it does I do the same to darling and she goes faster "Right Alden!" I yell as we come up on the turn the horses turn right and continue running down the road I turn around not seeing the herd behind and I don't hear the snarls "I think we are good." I say sighing the horses slow down. "What if negan isn't even at the sanctuary?" Enid asks "Then I look for him somewhere else. I'm not giving up." I say Enid rolls her eyes we come upon a turn and we turn left seeing the gates of the sanctuary I smile "Darling go." I say she starts to trot faster she trots through the open gates corpses scattered on the ground I sigh recognizing some These were my family. They cared about me and now they are gone. I hold back my tears as I hop off darling I attached her lead to the fence I kiss her nose and I scratch behind her ears as Enid gets off as well "I'll be back Darling." I say I begin to walk up the stairs of the sanctuary "Stay here." I say to Enid and Alden they nod I open the door to the sanctuary holding back my tears my home it's my home. I had my first kiss here. I lost my virginity here. I even learned how to drive here. I hear the sounds of snarls and look up to see a walker hanging by a rope a savior...He hung himself on the railing. I bite my lip and keep walking I walk through the halls cobwebs scattered on the walls I open the door to the staircase up to my home the place I spent the 2 years living in I begin to walk upstairs my steps getting shakier and slower I slowly begin to hear music play "Wise man say only fools rush in" I feel a weight being lifted from my shoulder knowing he is here the music gets louder the closer I get to the top "But I can't help falling in love with you." "Daddy..." I call quietly "Like a river flow journey to the sea Darling so it goes." I make it to the hallway most of the furniture overturned the vases broken I step in "Daddy..."I call quietly again afraid of being any louder I begin to walk down the wall "Some things are meant to be." I slowly walk into the living room "Take my hand, take my whole life too. For I can't help falling in love with you." I hear my dad say tears form in my eyes "Daddy.." I say tears streaming down my face as I see him sitting on the couch "Y/n.." He says turning around he gets up and I run to him I jump in his arms hugging him "My baby girl..." He says quietly he kisses my head as I hop down "Look at you in the light you look so grown up." He says I smile he only had one window in his cell and it was always dark near his cell "What are you doing here?" He asks "I came to find you make sure you were safe." I say he smiles then kisses my forehead again "Are you gonna make me go back?" He asks I shake my head "No. I'm gonna help you." I say he smiles kissing my head again "Do you need anything? Food, water?" I ask he shakes his head chuckling suddenly I hear someone running up the stairs "Y/n the herd caught up with us they are in the building we have to go!" Alden yells he runs into the room "Dad come on!" I say my dad doesn't even refuse he grabs his knife  I grab his hand and we run out of the room "Down the fire escape!" I yell we run over to the door and I kick it open I run down the stairs "Where is Enid!?" I ask "In the woods with the horses!" Alden replies we make it down to the bottom and we run over to the fence hearing the snarls from the herd "Don't let them get away!" I hear something snarl I stop trying to unlock the fence and turn around. "What the fuck was that!?" I yell Alden opens the gate they run out I freeze looking for the sound "Y/n come on!" My dad yells suddenly grabbing my hand and pulling me I snap out of my thoughts and we run we run down the road and into the woods "Enid!!" Alden yells I stop to catch my breath "Over here!" She responds we run over to her she holds onto the two horses leads she tenses up at the sight of my dad I notice she is at the same place where I've hidden a bunch of stuff in a crate I open my mouth like I was gonna say something. "You guys go back to the hilltop, I'm going home." I say grabbing Darling's lead from Enid Alden looks at my dad "What about him?" Alden asks I look at my dad he has a worried look on his face "Y/n I need to talk to you."   My dad says I walk over to him Darling following "I'm going home...I'm gonna go find your mom." My dad says I bite the inside of my lip "What if you get there and she isn't?" I ask quietly "Then I'll find her then go home. Honey, I can't stay here you know that." My dad says. Tears form in my eyes I unclip the backpack from Darling's saddle I toss it to him "Go." I say quietly then I walk over to the crate I push the pine straw and leaves on it I open the crate pulling out Lucille I walk over to my dad and toss it to him "Take it." I say he opens his mouth to say something "Go!" I yell tears running down my cheeks. "Go!" "I'm sorry Y/n." My dad says then walks off I let my tears fall knowing I was wasn't going to see my dad for a long time or never again I fall to the ground "Y/n..." Enid says quietly "Just go I'll be ok." I say they hesitate but they walk away I hear their horse neigh loudly and I hear the horse trot away   I wipe my tears and I stand up I climb on Darling "Go." I say quietly she begins to trot away back to the road she trots down the road. the sun begins to set 4 hours later Darling walks up to the gates of Alexandria the gate opens and she walks through Laura leads Darling over to the stable "Did you find him?" Laura as I hop off Darling exhaustion taking over "Yeah...I don't wanna talk about it." I say I walk away my feet sore along with my back and legs I make it to my house I quietly walk inside as Judith is probably asleep I walk upstairs and into my room I change into a pair of sweatpants and an oversized sweatshirt I put my hair in a floppy messy bun and I walk into Judith's room she is asleep Carl's hat on her nightstand. I smile I kiss her forehead then I walk out of her room I walk down the stairs and out the door I walk over to Cara's house I climb up to her window I knock on it she gets out of bed and smiles she opens her window and I climb in she wraps her arms around my waist and kisses me "You're back!" She says I smile she notices the tears stained on my face "What's wrong?" She asks worriedly I bite the inside of my lip "I had to say goodbye to my dad." I say trying to hold back my tears she cups my cheek with her hand "I'm so sorry baby girl." She says I let my tears fall again. "I'm not gonna see him again. He went to go find my mom." I say she pulls me in for a hug she is a little bit taller than me so its the perfect hug "Lay down." She says I lay down in her bed letting my sore muscle relax I lay my head on her shoulder she wraps her arms around me then kisses my forehead I close my eyes smiling a little "I love you." I say "I love you too."

;; I’m feeling a little emotional thinking about how TWD is going back for filming within the next 24 hours and how this will be our first full season without Rick. First full season that Andrew Lincoln won’t be getting on a plane and heading to the US for filming this month. First full season with Norman as the highest billed cast member. It’s so weird to think about.
#;; OOC ~#;; I'm glad TWD is pretty good again but it's still a bummer bc Gimple fucked so much up that#no matter how good it is now it'll never be as good as it could be#rip T.WD and G.oT both your seasons seven and eight are gonna go down in history as the worst seasons for both shows#and most people seem to think those seasons killed their respective shows. Not that from the T.WD end of things I disagree#S7 was just kinda meh and well local Carl blog still hates S8 how surprising#Hopefully S10 is better than things have been lately. Norman's excited so I'll try to be excited too for him :x#BUT MAN it's really our first full season with no Andy and somehow it's still hard to believe lol#I know he'll be in the movies but it's... not the same. I think he planned on directing an episode for S10 but... also not the same#AND IT'S WEIRD FOR ME BC LIKE I'm also SO HAPPY that my favorite character actually got promoted to basically series lead#I'm like... happy and excited to see Daryl as the lead character and I've loved it so much#It's like really bittersweet#Hopefully though some other characters like Alden and Kal and Marco get more screentime this season#Look Kal's been here since season SIX he deserves to be at least a B character now#Enid and Aaron climbed the ranks until Katelyn was literally listed in the opening credits last season#With Katelyn and and Alanna gone now though and soon Danai that means more people are gonna be climbing up into the opening credits#so tbh there's like... two and eventually three spots open for that and I'm reeeeally hoping Callan worms his way up there#Wouldn't be surprised to see Nadia get up there too tho and I kinda hope she does#It's almost one AM and I'm thinking a lot about how filming season has begun okay I'M RAMBLING ;;

I don't watch TWD anymore but I will literally throw a table if Daryl and Connie become a thing. Hell no if Daryl belongs with anyone it should be Aaron okay? They already have history together and really endearing chemistry. Plus it would make Daryl's storyline compelling again with him coming out and all. Also Daryl could still be asexual but still be in a loving affectionate relationship and show that you don't need to show two characters having sex who love each other. That would be so much more tender and soft. Like emphasize the significance in little touches, hand-holding and eye contact. Give me that. Show us a more vulnerable side of Daryl he isn't used to showing openly. Is that so hard?????

It’s the end of the world
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Alden x plus!size reader Eddie x plus!size reader
If you want to read my other work you can find it HERE
A/N: I have this idea of Eddie and Dustin joining the walking dead. This is definetly different but i hope you like it. I haven't caught up on the series. Spoilers!!! So this takes place after alpha killed Henry and Enid.
Warnings: 18+ smut, slight degrading, Language, angst, arguing, mentions of death and Not proof read and no word count.
Summary: The world ended. Alden finds you and falls in love again. However, a new comer and his friend needs your help.
You were cornered. How you ended up in this pharmacy with 30 or 40 fucking stinkers was stupid. You knew better than this. You knew after 6 years of running and hiding that you should never get so close to a fucking settlement. This time though you need supplies really bad. You were running super low on water and medicine.
The only thing blocking them from you was the damn gate that was on the counter. Your dog was barking attracting more and more. This was it you thought. Finally you were gonna die. You had a couple of rounds in your 9mm but it was only for emergencies. The only other weapon you had was a kabar. So little by little you stabbed the fuckers in the head. But you could see the gate coming loose.
For the first time since this all started you were scared. You sat down on the floor and held Lucy Doing your best to shoosh her. You pulled out your gun and started to cry.
" It's okay Lucy, we're finally gonna go home."
You brought the gun up to her head. You were about to pull the trigger but you just couldn't. You got up and pulled out all the shelves in one of the cupboards across from you. You put Lucy in.
" Listen. I love you okay. Be quiet. And stay."
Lucy quit her barking and sat down. You closed the door and pulled out the string in your hoodie and tied a knot in the handles.
You didn't know what you were gonna do. But you were not dying today. If you were then you were gonna die fighting. You quickly wrote a sign that Lucy was in the cupboard on the window. You tried it earlier but it was bullet proof.
Fucking rednecks in stupid Virginia!
You were looking around for anything when you heard the bolts falling out. They were breaking through.
" Fuck fuck fuck!"
There was literally nothing to help. You pulled down a shelf to slow them down and pulled out your knife and watched them come in. You got a few before you heard gunshots. You ducked down and crawled as best you could under the shelf. But of course you were too big to fit. So you just balled yourself up until the shots stopped.
You had this shooting pain in your side. You looked down pulling up your shirt and saw that you were bleeding. Two bullet wounds were next to each other on your right side.
Fucking amateurs.
You heard voices and you tried to hide but then Lucy started to bark. So you got up and crawled to her. Your hands were shaking trying to untie the knot. She came out and licked your face.
" Good girl."
The last thing you remembered was a dark blonde headed guy with brown eyes. You heard Lucy growl and bark before you passed out.
...
When you woke you were in a room that looked like it was stuck in the colonial times. Lucy was at the foot of the bed. She instantly got up and laid on your lap whimpering. That's when you heard a voice.
" Hi."
You jumped and looked around for your bag.
" No. No. You're safe."
" Where-where are we?"
"Umm this place is called the Hilltop."
" oh...kay. Can I leave?"
" Uhh but you're still hurt."
You lifted the blanket and saw that you were in just your underwear. With a bandage wrapped around your stomach. Completely embarrassed about your thick body you covered yourself up.
" umm where are my clothes?"
" They're being washed. Here. I found some extras for you." The guy said handing you some.
You hesitated to take them but you wanted to leave so you did.
"Can you turn around?"
" Oh. Yeah yeah."
When he did you quickly got dressed.
" I'm Alden by the way."
You didn't say anything. Lucy kept whining.
" Umm your dog has been looking sick lately."
" Where's my bag?"
He pointed at a chair and you went to retrieve it.
His eyes followed you and you rummaged for something in it. You pulled out a small vile and a syringe.
" Come here Lucy."
She came to you slowly. She looked so tired.
" Sit. Medicine."
She sat down and let out a soft cry when you gave her a shot. After you pulled out a snack for her and petted her until she was finished.
" What was that?" Alden asked.
" She's a diabetic." You said still looking at Lucy.
" Oh. Is that why you were in the pharmacy?"
You nodded. You got up and put on your shoes.
" I don't know anyone who would risk getting killed for a dog other than Daryl."
" She's not just a dog to me." You were being cold to him.
You whistled and Lucy followed you out.
" Hey wait." Alden called after you.
You walked up to the fence and shouted for them to let you out.
" Hey. Just stay for a bit. Eat something and talk to our leader.
' No thanks. I'm better off alone."
He chuckled. " Really? Didn't look like that at the pharmacy."
" Right. Thank you for saving me and Lucy. But I really would like to leave. No good comes from camps."
" Where you at a camp?"
" I don't know you. And I would like to leave. Please."
He was going to say something when a woman came. Lucy went to her immediately and let her pet her.
" Open the gate. If she wants to leave Alden. Let her. But I have to say. You aren't gonna last long in your condition."
" I've been in worse." You retorted
" Yeah? Well you're gonna be slow and with only a knife and a few shots are not gonna get you far."
" I'll be fine." You said looking back and forth between them.
" Well fine. But we can offer you safety and food. For you and your dog."
" I'll manage."
" Fine. Alden. Get her some food and a gun."
Alden gave you a thin lip smile and took off.
" I don't need anything." You said slightly surprised. " Lucy."
" No you do. What you need are people. But if you are insisting on leaving then it's the least we can do to make sure you're given the best chance out there."
" I-I don't like camps. They always fall or they have some crazy person running it."
" You've been to camps before."
You sighed. " Yes. Lucy come here."
Lucy came and sat next to you. You really didn't want to say anything but just something in the woman's eyes made you feel like you could trust her.
" I've been to some too. I used to live in a prison."
" I lived in a town once. But the guy who ran it. He was fucking nuts. If Lucy doesn't like you then you're bad. And she hated that fucker."
She smiled. " I like Lucy. It's a good name. I'm Maggie."
You swallowed. " I'm y/n."
"It's nice to meet you."
You nodded and saw the guy come back. He handed you a sack and a rifle. He patted Lucy on the head and went to stand next to Maggie.
You looked at them and then down to Lucy.
" Can we stay just for a few days? I want to be 100% so I can protect her."
You looked up and they were both smiling.
Alden came to you and grabbed the gun and your things.
" Common. You need to rest."
You and Lucy followed him and Maggie into the house.
" I'm y/n. And this is Lucy."
Alden smiled at you. " nice to meet you."
...
3 weeks later you were helping Alden get ready for a run. They needed supplies. There was something unspoken there. The way he looked at you felt good. You tried to ignore it because you were gonna leave soon. But whenever you came out of the room he was right there. Always. Either smiling at you or playing with Lucy. She liked him. And that was all you needed to know to trust him.
You guys left with a handful of others. It was a long ride to the next town. A few of the dead were wondering but nothing too serious. As you guys split up into groups of two, you and Lucy went off to find some medicine. You needed to stock up on Lucy's insulin. Winter was just about to start and you had to make sure you found a place to hold up in as well.
While you were digging around for supplies you found some antibiotics. You decided to get them for the camp along with cold medicine. During the last winter you had gotten so sick that you barely left the abandoned warehouse you stayed in. Almost freezing to death so you made sure to grab whatever you could to keep that from happening again.
That's when you saw Lucy perk her ears up and staring out the door. Then she bolted. You ran after her into a grocery store. You heard the dead banging on something. That's when you saw Alden getting swarmed. The person he was with was being eaten and you just reacted.
" Lucy. Bark."
And she did so.
" Hide."
And she went. Her barking distracted the dead and you went to help Alden. You guys killed everything in sight. After you guys just stood there.
" Lucy. Come."
She crept out from her hiding place and came to you and Alden.
" Thank you girl." Alden said kneeling down and petted her.
" You should gather the others and head back."
He looked up at you. " you're not coming?"
" No. I found a place for the winter. Here." You handed him the stuff you found and left.
Later that night you were setting up a bed in the attic of an old bar, when you heard footsteps. Lucy didn't get up from her bed. You looked out the small window and saw it had started to snow. You pulled out your gun ready for whoever was coming.
" Y/n?"
" Alden?"
He pulled down the ladder and climbed up.
" You shouldn't have come here. It's gonna be hard to get back."
" I'm not gonna leave you alone here all winter." He said pulling the ladder back up.
" I'm not alone."
He took a step closer. " Well I know. I'm talking about someone other than Lucy."
" I'm okay."
"Look I'm staying okay. I'll sleep on the other side of the room."
You looked at him and there was another moment. It was brief but it was there. " Fine. Just for tonight."
He opened his mouth to argue but you held out your hand. He nodded and set up his bedding next to Lucy.
The night got cold pretty fast. You were asleep when you heard Alden's teeth chattering. You sighed. You would think he would be prepared for the winter.
" Alden. Come here."
He looked up worried.
" Come on. I'm a furnace." You lifted the blanket and he came to you.
" Th-thank y-you."
" I swear. You should have just went home. You could die out here." You said while hugging him
" I-I w-wanted to-to be with y-you."
You pulled away. "Why?"
You could see his breath. He was breathing hard and he was looking at your lips.
"Al-"
He cut you off by kissing you. You pushed him away slightly and stared deep into his eyes. Contemplation whether or not to go there with him.
You leaned back into him kissing with such a lustful need. He unzipped your jacket and pulled it off. You took off his sweatshirt along with his thermal. After returning your lips to his. Your hands reached for his pants as his went for yours. Guess this was going to happen. Once you were both bare he kissed all over your body. Taking your nipples into his mouth and hand. You reached down to touch his length. Sure he wasn't huge or anything but he was big enough. Big enough to make you cum. You started pumping him gently. His beard tickled you as his head went up and down your body leaving a trail of tender kisses.
He adjusted himself so that he was resting on top of you. His thrust was slow and gentle. And it quickly became too slow for you. You repositioned to straddle him and started rocking your hips faster and faster. You held back your moans as you started coming undone. It's been ages since you had sex and Alden just felt so good, so you just let go. You came quickly but still wanted more. So you kept moving. This time Alden lifted his hips so he could go in deeper. His hands were on your ass with his fingers digging in.
You put your hands on his chest and used him as leverage to start moving up and down. With him pulling at your bottom to help. His grunts mixed with your breathy sighs echoed through the attic.
You started picking up the pace when you felt another orgasm coming. That's when Alden's body tensed.
" Want me to cum in you?"
" Hmmm fuck! Yes! Yes!"
"K-kay."
You fucked him through both of your orgasms. You rocked your hips slowly trying to get every last drop of his cum out.
Afterwards he held you.
" I need to get a plan b."
He nodded. " We'll get one first thing in the morning. Then we head back to hilltop."
" I...I don't want to go back."
" Why? Don't you want to be with me?"
" I don't feel safe there."
He kissed your forehead. " I'll keep you and Lucy safe. I promise."
...
Somehow Alden convinced you to make the Hilltop your home. And the only reason you went back was because of him. You liked him and you wanted to protect him. So as winter came and went the spring brought news.
There was word of a hoard heading straight to the Hilltop and you and Alden were getting ready to help deflect them. Maggie had instructed to reinforce the south wall so it was vulnerable during construction.
You guys left with Lucy running by your side. Once you saw the vastness of the hoard you turned to Alden.
"You're the faster rider. You have to tell Maggie it's too big."
" No we can do this together."
" Alden. Please."
" No y/n."
"Just trust me... I'll come back to you."
" Y/n?"
You gave him a look and he nodded. You turned your horse around. And just as you took off you heard Alden say he loved you. You wanted to turn around and see if he really did say that. But you just rode off.
Just a few minutes went by when you heard someone singing and playing music. When you got closer you saw a long haired tall thin guy playing a guitar. And a small kid banging on a trash can lid with a spear.
🎵" Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been, belong
you can't be something you're not
Be yourself, by yourself, stay away from me
A lesson learned in life
Known from the dawn of time
Respect, walk, what did you say?
Respect, walk, are you talkin' to me?
Respect, walk, what did you say?
Respect, walk
Are you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?
No way, punk"🎵
" It's been a long time since I've heard Pantera."
They were leading the hoard. You rode in front of them making them stop. They both smiled at you.
The tall one gave you a thumbs up and continued to sing and walk around you. Lucy went right up to him and he quickly patted her head and kept walking.
"I'm Dustin. That's Eddie."
" Umm do you guys know where you're going?"
" uhh I'm y/n." You said following them.
Eddie smiled when he heard your name. Seeing a plump woman riding a horse did something to him. He had never seen such a beautiful girl before. And seeing you look so damn majestic. It set a fire through him. But he couldn't be obvious about it. So he just kept walking.
" Nope. Just leading these away from our camp." Dustin said bagging on his lid again.
" Well you guys are leading them to my camp."
That's when Eddie stopped and turned around. " oh shit. I didn't know there was a settlement near here."
" yeah."
" Shit okay Dustin we got-"
That's when a crawler came out of nowhere and grabbed Eddie's legs making him fall. Another distracted Dustin and spooked your horse making him buck you off. When you fell you jumped up and went to help Eddie.
" Thanks sweetheart. Almost had me there."
Lucy was barking letting you know the hoard was getting too close. After you killed the one who had Eddie you helped him to his feet.
He looked deep into your eyes and saw you blush. He wanted to kiss you for saving his life but he decided against it.
"Common we need to lead them in a different direction." You ordered turning away from him.
He leaned over to Dustin and whispered " I would follow her anywhere."
He saluted you and followed you out into a field.
You shook off that feeling that suddenly came when he looked at you with those ridiculous big brown eyes.
What the hell is going on?
You lead the others while Eddie started playing his guitar again. He grinned watching you talk to Lucy like she was a person. He couldn't help but wonder how a girl like you made it this far. Not that he was judging. But he hadn't seen anyone like you since this started. He figured you must have gone through hell to get here.
...
Your horse came back to Hilltop without you and Alden freaked out. He left again and went to find you. He rode hard and fast until he saw the end of the hoard. Making his way to the front he saw you with two others.
" Y/n?!"
You turned around and Alden hopped off his horse and ran to you. He held you tightly and you hesitated to hug him back.
" Looks like she's spoken for." Dustin nudged Eddie and he looked at you.
" All the good ones are always taken." Eddie said just above a whisper.
" I have never seen you before." Alden said. " we have an alliance with Alexandria. Where's Michonne? Normally she does this type of stuff."
" They were leading them away from Alexandria." You said pulling out of Alden's arms.
You both looked at Eddie and Dustin. For some reason you felt embarrassed when you met Eddie's eyes. You looked away and continued to walk.
" Oh um well my friend and I have been out scouting for new people and we've been gone for like a year. We missed home so when we came back we saw these ugly mugs. So we decided to lead them away before we go back." Eddie said not taking his eyes off of you.
"Y-yeah." Eddie stuttered.
Alden noticed and was upset. " alright well you guys got this right? I want to take my girl back home."
" Alden I'm staying with them. I want to make sure that we lead the dead far enough away."
" Y/n-"
" I wasn't asking for your permission. I'm going"
And there it was. The moment Eddie fell in love with you. He walked by Alden and gave him a thin lip smile and followed you dragging Dustin along.
...
Once the dead were far enough away. You convinced the new guys to stay the night at Hilltop. With a promise to escort them back to Alexandria. Alden was not happy about it. He saw the way Eddie looked at you and he didn't like it. He especially didn't like the way you kept avoiding his affection.
You knew exactly what Alden was doing and it pissed you off. He was staking his claim on you in front of these guys. He always did this when someone would try and talk to you.
Yes you liked Alden. And you did want to be with him. You just felt like when it came to doing things or making decisions for yourself he would always make them for you. And you hated that. Not having a voice.
Maggie told you about the saviors and how he used to be one but he never wanted to be with them. And then when Enid died he changed. You had wished you had met him before that. He seemed like he was really a care guy. Not that he wasn't now. It's just the things he would do made you feel "trapped" for the lack of a better term.
You guys got into it that night about Eddie fawning over you.
" Are you joking? I know you saw how he looked at you y/n?"
You scoffed. "Why does that matter? I'm with you aren't I?"
" Well you didn't have to bring them here. They could have gone back to Alexandria."
" Now you're joking right? They were tired and they needed food."
" I don't care what they need. Just stay away from them!"
You were taken back. " Excuse me?!"
" I'm serious. You're mine. And you can't go with them tomorrow!"
"Listen here! You do not own me! I allow you to be with me. You will not tell me what to do. Do you understand me?!"
"No-"
" Shut the fuck up! You need to stop this right now! If you want to continue to be with me. You need to let me be. Because I will be more than happy to take Lucy and leave."
He flexed his jaw and clenched his fist. "Fuck! Why do you have to be so damn stubborn!"
" I'm not-"
Alden grabbed you and placed a harsh kiss against your lips. Grabbing you everywhere. You pushed him away.
" You can't-"
He cut you off with another kiss and put his hand down your pants.
" Alden...fuck!" You threw your head back as he pressed his fingers roughly against your clothed clit.
His mouth was on your neck in a second. Leaving bites. You fucking hated how much you loved him being like this. So damn rough. You were soaked in seconds.
" On your knees." He ordered
You whimpered as he pulled his hand away. He fucking knew you liked this.
You dropped down to your knees. He took off his shirt and pulled out his cock.
" Open your mouth."
You did sticking out your tongue and he spit. You moaned and swallowed it. He pulled at your chin to open your mouth again and shoved his cock deep down your throat. Causing tears to fall. You held onto his thighs as his hands wrapped in your hair holding you still as he fucked your throat.
He finally let you have air and lifted you up. He pulled off all your clothes and pushed you onto the bed. He lifted and spread your knees apart. He slid his fingers into your throbbing cunt and you raised your hips. Tugging at your nipples.
He pumped until he felt you clench.
" Turn around."
" No" you whined as he took his fingers away.
You bit your lip and rolled over. He grabbed your hips pulling them up so you were on your hands and knees. He gave your ass one hard smack and your core tremble.
" Fuck Alden. Please... please." You begged
He pushed into your sopping cunt burying his length deep inside you. You gasped and gripped the sheets.
" You're fucking mine! This pussy. Is fucking mine!" He said pounding into you.
You were close. Though you knew you would regret this when it was over, you couldn't help but feel so damn good. One of Alden's hands moved from your hip down your back and into your hair. He tugged it pulling you up so that your back was flush with his chest. That's what did it for you.
You came so hard. Alden kept fucking up into you wrapping one hand around your large stomach and the other moving from your hair to your tits. Massaging them roughly and twisting your nipples lightly. He put his forehead on your shoulder and his thrusts becoming slow and hard. He grunted as his hot cum filled you. Your moaning turned into soft sighs until he was finished.
When he pulled out you winced. You laid down covering yourself with a blanket. While Alden went to grab a towel. He came back and got into bed cleaning you and himself. He reached over to the besides table and pulled out one of your morning after pills. He handed it to you with some water.
He pulled you to lay on his chest after. He strokes your back as you held him close.
" Alden, I really hate when you're like that."
" Yeah...I know. I'm sorry."
You were just about to fall asleep when you heard him say that he loved you. Not wanting to say it back you just pretend to fall asleep.
...
Once Alden was knocked out. You quietly put on a flannel and undies. You snuck out to the kitchen and looked for food. You were smacking on some carrots when someone cleared their throat.
" Hey beautiful."
You turned around and Eddie was smiling. It was one of the most amazing smile you had ever seen.
" Umm hey....can't sleep?"
Eddie stood next to you and grabbed a carrot. " Nah. It's hard to sleep when the threat of uglies are just right outside."
" Right? I always find it weird how everyone can sleep so comfortably."
He smiled while chewing. "So uhh. You and your guy are okay? He seemed kinda mad."
" Uhh. Yeah. I guess you can say that."
" What's wrong?" He said tilting his head.
" Uh. Nothing. Don't worry about it."
"How can I not worry about my knight in shining flannel? If you want to talk, I have nowhere to be tonight."
You laughed and gazed into those pretty brown eyes and just felt a sense of trust there. That it was ok if you said whatever to him. That he wouldn't blab to the whole world your inner most thoughts.
" I umm. I think when I go with you guys in the morning. I...might not come back here." You looked away and fiddled with your snack.
" Why? What's wrong with here?"
" it's just...I'm not comfortable. I don't think that I belong here."
" Oh. Huh... Well if you want. I'm sure Alexandria will take you and Alden in. We could definitely use a woman of your talents there."
You gave him a thin lip smile. " No. I mean I don't want to leave here with him. And I don't like settlements. They're just not safe."
Eddie raised his eyebrow. " are you planning on running away?"
You laughed. "I uhh. I guess you can say that."
" Where would you go?"
"I don't know. I just want to take Lucy and go."
Eddie smiled. Even though it wasn't the right time to think this. But he couldn't help but think he had a shot with you. So how could he let you go anywhere without him now?
" What about the beach? We could go to and build a sand castle and eat sushi." He smirked at you.
" We?"
" Well yeah. I can't let a fair maiden like yourself wonder out there with just Lucy. I get that she's important but she gets sick sometimes and she can't always protect you."
" Wait? How do you know she's sick?"
" Her eyes are cloudy. And she drinks a lot of water."
You were a bit shocked. " Oh."
" Yeah so I'm coming with. But Dustin has to come too. I promised a friend I wouldn't leave him behind."
You wanted to say no. That you were better off alone. But something about this guy made you want to agree. Maybe it was his smile or maybe the way that he looked at you. You didn't know. All you did know was that he felt real, he understood the threat. Being around him for just a few hours made you want him around all the time. Sure you felt bad for not feeling that way toward Alden. But you never really thought about a long term thing with him. Then again you guys were living together and having sex. But it never felt right. Just something about it felt like you could never live up to his expectations.
" Hey. Stop that. Don't get lost in there."
Eddie's voice pulled you out of a deep thought. He was much closer than before and he was holding your hand. He was crazy warm and his hand was rough but very comforting.
" um you seem like the type who overthinks."
You laughed looking at his and yours. He was nice. And he saw right through you. When you met his eyes there was a spark. A pretty big fucking spark that you couldn't ignore. You pulled your hand away.
" I uhh....I better head to bed. Early ride to the beach."
He smiled and slowly leaned to give you a kiss on the cheek. You gasped slightly trying to catch your breath.
"See you in the morning princess."
Eddie grabbed another carrot and waved before disappearing into the hallway.
What the hell was that y/n? Not possible. You can't be in love with someone this fucking fast.

wing woman
hey y'all! I’m back with another fic! this one was a request!
pairing: enid x platonic!reader
Tumblr media
You’d been staying at the hilltop for a while now, trying to get the hang of a new place. Alexandria was great, but you needed a break, and the Hilltop seemed like one of the best places.
As much as you tried to keep to yourself, Enid wouldn’t let it happen. She made you go on runs with her and Jesus, and volunteered you for watch together. You were close in Alexandria, and her move to Hilltop was hard for both of you.
So now, here you were. Years into your stay at the Hilltop and finally feeling some semblance of normal. It was quiet, mostly. Nothing had happened in a couple weeks and you were happy about it.
Enid had been struggling after Carl’s death and Negan’s capture, and you understood. She was close to Carl and Glenn, and you knew a part of her wanted some justice, even if it wasn’t the same justice that the others wanted.
After a while, you caught her stealing glances at Alden from your place on the tower, on the way back to your trailer, at dinner, and any other time you were even remotely close to him.
After the millionth time that night, you decided to just force it out of her.
“Enid,” you said, placing your spoon down into your bowl.
“Hm?” was all she said back, clearly too entranced to respond.
“Oh my god, Enid. You should see yourself right now,” you laughed, moving to sit across from her and block her view of Alden.
You spooked her as you sat down, and she dropped her spoon into her bowl, creating a loud noise and some weird looks from the others.
“I mean it Enid! This is so obvious it’s insane. You like Alden,” you crossed your arms as you said it, satisfied with your own observations.
“What?”
“Don’t lie to me Enid! Even Gabriel could see it, and he’s down an eye. That’s how obvious this is.”
“No I don’t! What about you and Daryl? You guys are together practically all the time.”
“That? Yeah that’s always been a thing. Man, are you really so caught up over this that you can’t even pay attention? You’re down bad, Enid.”
“You and Daryl? Since when?” She asked, almost not believing that you’d admit to it.
“For a while. I don’t know, it just kind of happened. Some time after we first got to Alexandria, I think,” you said between mouthfuls of food.
“But that’s why we’ve got to figure this out! It’s clear that you like him, Enid! We just gotta make two ends meet in the middle.”
Alden had gotten up from his seat by then, and moved over to your table, catching the last bit of your sentence.
“Who does Enid like?”
Enid choked on her food, practically needing CPR.
“Oh, Alden! We were just talking about a poster we saw in one of the rooms. Some old movie star or something. Anyways,” you grabbed your bowl to let Alden take your seat, “I think you should take my seat, Alden. I’m gonna go find Daryl.”
You spotted Daryl over at another table with Connie and Yumiko. It was in the vantage point of Alden and Enid, so you decided to head over to watch your work.
“Hey, Y/N,” Yumiko greeted you.
“Hey, Miko,” you said, opting to sit next to her in order to face Enid.
“What’s going on over there?” Carol asked.
“Oh, nothing,” you said, “Just some good old fashioned match-making.”
“No way! Like that show where people would go on blind dates!” Yumiko said.
“Exactly! Now I just have to wait for them to talk to each other. They’re both practically falling over for each other, they just have to make the first move.”
“That’s adorable. Kinda reminds me of you and Daryl,” Carol said.
“What? We were not that obvious. Were we?” you asked.
“Oh, you were. Following each other around like lost puppies. I swear Daryl was going to go out and find you himself after you didn’t come back from a run on time. I had to make Tara watch him,” she laughed, poking Daryl in the arm.
“Alrigh’ you don’t have to get all sappy,” he spoke, grabbing another bite of his food.
You laughed, turning back to observed Enid and Alden. Things seemed to be going smoothly, and after a while they both got up, turning to walk in the same direction.
“Oh my god, guys! It’s happening! They’re so going to tell each other on this walk! There’s no way it doesn’t happen.”
“I bet you tomorrows bread that it doesn’t happen,” Yumiko held out her hand, looking for a deal.
“Oh, you’re on!” you said, confident in your abilities.
Some time later, Alden and Enid returned. Enid gave Alden an awkward hug and moved over to sit where you were, a blush slowly creeping up on her face.
“So?” you asked, practically dying to find out.
“So, we’re dating now. I guess,” she said hesitantly.
“Yes! Yumiko, you owe me tomorrow’s bread! Sucker!”
“Fine, a deal’s a deal. Besides, I knew you were going to win, I just didn’t want my bread to go to waste.”
“Oh, don’t be a sore loser, Miko.”
Enid looked confused, sitting there on the bench opposite of you.
“Did-did you guys bet on me?”
“What? No! We were just having a friendly discussion about whether you were actually going to tell Alden that you liked him or not! No biggie.”
“Oh my god, Y/N. You’re insane!” she laughed.
“Insane, but one hell of a wing-woman!”
“Okay, okay! Don’t get too excited here. It’s the end of the world. Who knows what's going to happen,” Enid said, eyes slightly downcast. You knew she was thinking of Carl.
“It’s always going to be the end of the world, Enid, you just gotta take advantage of the opportunities given to you.”

Song I Wrote To: “In This Shirt” by The Irrepressibles
Note: I am getting really excited about the final few parts of this! However, we have a bit to go! All official dialog is property of AMC and Skybound.
-----
Negan really hated Beta and he hadn’t said more than three words since they crossed paths.
After crossing into the Whisperer’s territory, Beta had fallen upon Negan quickly, disarming and blindfolding him. Negan wasn’t sure if the giant man was going to kill him, so he kept talking in hopes that the Beta would take him to the Alpha to decide his fate.
“Look, man, I have spent the last eight fuckin’ years locked up by your enemy,” Negan said. “I want them dead as much as you do, hell, probably even more. Their old leader fucked me up good once upon a time ago and I haven’t been in a very forgiving mindset since. You take me to your Alpha and I will spill every goddamn secret I know about those fuckers and beyond.”
“Too much noise,” Beta snarled at him.
“Right, you people are all about the whole vow of silence thing,” Negan said in a mock whisper. “I get it, it’s freaky as shit, but I get it.”
“I should just slit your throat and be done with it,” said Beta.
“Been there, done that,” Negan said. “It didn’t stick.” Even behind the blindfold Negan figured Beta was reaching for the knives on his belt. He wouldn’t blame him if he did want to kill him.
Negan had only been back in “I am Negan” mode for all of twelve hours and he had already started to hate himself for it. However, he had a job to do and this was the first step in doing so.
“The Alpha will decide your fate,” Beta said as the Whisperers who had hold of Negan pushed him forward.
“Fan-fucking-tastic,” Negan said. Beta whirled on him, ripping down the blindfold and Negan cringed at the sight of the man in the mask. Beta then shoved the cloth into Negan’s mouth tightly.
“Stop talking,” Beta ordered. Negan glared back at him and it was then that he could see what you must have seen as Beta stood above you with his hand on your throat. The thought of that, the thought of that monster’s hand on the person he loved, kept Negan on his feet and walking forward. He knew that you wanted to kill Beta, but Negan was starting to think that if you didn’t do it soon, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself.
Beta dragged him through the woods and when they came across the main camp, Negan relaxed further, slipped on a cocky smile, and started to plan.
-------
You and Carol were walking through the woods, both of you scanning for your respective targets.
You knew that she was looking for the horde and you didn’t care. All you wanted was to find Negan and if walking aimlessly around offered you some sort of clue, then you were going to do it. Daryl had tried to accompany her that morning, but you had stepped in and offered to go instead. Daryl was clearly worried about her, but you knew that she didn’t want comfort, she just wanted to work and find Alpha.
You were more than willing to give that to her.
That morning as you were getting ready to head out, you had stumbled across one of your emergency packs. You had begun to stash them around the house in case you had to leave suddenly with Negan. All three were accounted for which told you that he hadn’t even bothered to find one before he left. This only proved your theory that something was wrong and that he didn’t just leave.
On top of everything else, Aaron was now in contact with one of Alpha’s people. They called her Gamma and you didn’t like that he was speaking to her. If you had it your way, Gamma would be bleeding at your feet and not playing “frenemy”.
“I can see your wheels turning,” Carol said as you walked beside her. Your sword was swinging on your hip as her bow was level in her hand.
“I don’t think they’ve stopped since the world ended,” you said with a sigh.  Carol nodded in agreement. “Can we be honest with each other, Peletier?” you asked.
“Always,” Carol said, snorting as you used her last name, something you always did when you first met her.
“I think we both know that we’re out here for different reasons,” you said.
“You always were the smart one,” Carol said. She then stopped walking and turned to you. “Are you going to tell me to back down?”
“I won’t tell you to stop hunting Alpha as long as you don’t stop me from taking out Beta.”
“He’s in your crosshairs, huh?” she said, continuing to walk.
“I don’t know why he’s gotten under my skin, Carol. I do know that that motherfucker is going to die by my hand even if I have to bite his damn jugular out.”
“Okay, Rick,” Carol said with a knowing look.
“Michonne told you that story too?”
“I think everyone’s heard it,” Carol said.
“I miss him so much,” you sighed as you climbed over a fallen tree.
“What do you think he’d do if he was here?” Carol asked.
“I think he would have shot Alpha the second she showed up at Hilltop.”
“I agree,” Carol said. “I feel like we’re running around with our heads cut off without him in this war.”
“Maybe we can learn something from the past. We won the last war, I don’t know why this one would be any different.”
“Negan wasn't evil,” Carol said. This stunned you for a moment and Carol caught onto it. “Surprised to hear me defend him?”
“A bit,” you admitted.
“You remember my husband?”
“Ed?” you asked. “How could I forget?” Carol’s dead husband was an abusive asshole that deserved what he got. You remembered how Shane was ready to throttle him and you were willing to help. Lori was the one to calm the both of you down before you murdered him. However, you knew that Shane had always been right about him.
“My husband didn’t care about me or our daughter. Ed was a horrible human being who preyed on the weak. Alpha is the same way. She doesn’t care who she hurts and she is willing to kill women, children, and anyone to get what she wants. Negan...he had a code. I don’t know if that makes up for all the things he did, but in my book, he’s a better person than Ed or Alpha.”
“I wish more people shared those thoughts,” you said.
“I can tell that you love him,” she said. “I can see it on your face and in your eyes. He’s...I guess he’s your sanctuary.”
“Is it wrong that I feel guilty for that?”
“For loving him?” she asked and you nodded. “No, (Y/N), it’s not wrong. I also want you to know that it's okay, no matter who it is.”
“Ezekiel said the same thing,” you said. Carol smiled at that. You didn’t know exactly what had happened between her and the King, but you knew they weren’t speaking as much and you figured they weren’t even together at all.
It wasn’t odd when parents broke up after the death of a child. You had seen it enough when you were a teacher. Carol was strong, but you did worry about Ezekiel.
“What’s your opinion on him, Carol?” you asked after a moment.
“On Negan?” she asked and you nodded. “Well, I am never going to forgive him for Glenn or Abraham, but I see that he’s changed. I know that he cared about Carl, and in his own way, respected Rick. I also know that he would never lay his hand on a child or a woman and if it came down to it, he would die for Judith. I think that regardless of what he’s done, at least we know he knows how to be a good man even if he hasn’t always been one.”
Nodding, you tried to keep your emotions in check, but the tears came quickly. You hunched over, feeling a loss and Carol grabbed you into her arms.
“I have no doubt he will come home to you,” she whispered. “Do not lose faith, my friend.”
“I need him,” you choked out.
“I know, honey,” Carol said. “I know.”
—————-
You broke off from Carol not that long after her words of comfort.
Needing to be alone, you began the trek towards Hilltop. You weren’t exactly sure what you were looking for, but perhaps if you saw it you would know. Carol had mentioned that she wasn’t just looking for Alpha, but the horde as well. Daryl had seen it when Alpha had taken him to the cliff edge. The Whisperers had the largest weapon you could ever imagine and if they decided to use it, you weren’t sure many would survive.
However, you had your own weapon. That is if you could find him. Thinking back to the first day that you had spoken to Negan in his cell, Michonne had said that Alexandria could use him. Not just for a mental punching bag, but because he had run a community unchallenged for years. The Sanctuary, while it was a symbol of hate for Alexandria and the others, it was still proof that some people were born to be in power. Negan was the best shot you had at getting into Beta’s head. The only problem was that Negan may not want to help, not when he had come so far to become a better man.
“And now I’m the one wanting to make him relive that past life,” you muttered as you moved through the trees.
“Talking to yourself? Never a good sign,” a voice said. You recognized it immediately, turning towards the young woman who stepped around a tree. Enid leaned against the trunk, her knife on her hip and a large button-up around her shoulders. You recognized it as one of Alden’s shirts.
“I think a little insanity is healthy,” you offered, causing Enid to smile a bit. “How are you?” you asked.
“I’m getting there,” she admitted. You hadn’t spoken to her much since the fair. Here and there you would check-in, but you had been caught in Negan for months. That guilty feeling returned. “What are you doing out here?” she asked.
“I could ask you the same thing,” you said.
“I needed to get out before Alden wrapped me in plastic wrap.”
“He’s become a helicopter boyfriend?” you guessed, continuing to walk. Enid fell into step next to you.
“That’s a nice way of putting it,” she grumbled.
“Alden is just worried about you,” you said. “Rosita and Gabriel are doing the same with Siddiq.”
“Is he doing okay?”
“He’s been distracted with his daughter and I think that’s helping. Rosita says that he isn’t sleeping though,” you said.
“Neither am I,” Enid said. “I can’t get the look of Tara’s face out of my head. Seeing her die and then what they did with her body…” You reached out and took her hand in yours.
“I am so sorry you had to see that,” you said.
“I’ve seen people die before, but that… that wasn’t human, (Y/N),” Enid said. “I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep without the nightmares.”
“I wish I could do something to help you,” you said.
“You are, you’re talking to me and you’re still looking for the Whisperers,” she said. “That’s why you’re out here, right?” You paused, trying not to fully lie.
“Right,” you said, but Enid could see right through it.
“Or are you looking for Negan?”
“Can’t I do both?” you asked. Enid shrugged. Negan was a rough subject with Enid. He had killed Glenn who had become like a father to Enid in some ways. He had taken care of her when she didn’t think anyone wanted her around. When he was taken away from her, Enid had taken over as caretaker for Maggie and you knew that Negan wasn’t winning any popularity contests with the young woman.
“How do you know he’s actually changed?” Enid asked, surprising you.
“Everyone keeps asking me that,” you said with a sigh. “I don’t think it’s something I can just explain. It’s something you have to see.”
“Why do you think he’s changed?” Enid asked.
“Because he had to and because he wanted to,” you said without a second of hesitation. “Negan wasn’t always who we met all those years ago.”
“I wonder what changed.”
“His wife died and the world ended,” you said. “Some people are built for this kind of world, others have to adapt and change with it in order to survive.”
“So, you’re saying that the end of the world turned him into a killer?”
“It’s turned us all into killers, Enid,” you reminded her. Enid was quiet for a moment before she continued.
“Alden once told me a story about him,” she began. “Alden wasn’t always with Negan, he usually just stayed at the outposts, but one day Negan went to visit. They all went out in search of people or supplies and they found a small family. It was a husband, his wife, and their two teenagers. Twins, I think. Alden thought that Negan was going to recruit the man to be a Savior and take care of the teens and the wife.”
“Did he?” you asked. Enid shook her head.
“Alden said that Negan...switched when he noticed something. It wasn’t until he got closer that he saw what Negan did. The wife was covered in bruises, the kids too. These weren’t the normal ones you would get from running from Walkers either.”
“He was beating them,” you concluded.
“Negan gave the man one chance to admit what he had done. I guess the husband drew a gun on his family, threatening to kill them. Negan ordered Alden and some other Saviors to grab the kids and keep them safe as he dealt with the parents. The wife began to beg Negan for help and that’s when Negan tackled the husband, knocking him out cold.”
“Did he kill him?”
“He didn’t have to,” Enid said. “The son of a bitch had gotten bit and was going to turn and then turn his family. Some sort of sick ‘together forever’ type thing. Negan got the family into the Sanctuary and kept them safe. The mom died about a year later from a respiratory infection.”
“And the twins?”
“Alden doesn’t know. They were around fifteen or so. Maybe they left, maybe Negan got them set up somewhere else, I don’t know. I just know their names: Adam and Olivia. I like to think they made it and they’re out there somewhere.”
“Why did Alden tell you this?”
“I think he was trying to convince me that not everything the Saviors did was bad,” she said. “I think he’s still worried that I see him as an enemy, but I never did. At least not since he helped us win the war.”
“I wish I could say the same about my own Savior,” you sighed.
“Can’t you?” she asked.
“Enid, we both know that Negan and Alden are two very different people with very different situations,” you said.
“True, but that doesn’t mean Negan hasn’t done his fair share of good. Daryl told me about Judith, all the times he’s saved her. Maybe he’s not lost after all.”
“You sound like Carl,” you complimented. Enid gave you a small smile at that.
“I know that he would be completely on board with you and Negan,” she said. “I also know that he would be by your side right now looking for him.”
“Negan wouldn’t have left if Carl was still here,” you said.
“Why are you so sure that he left?”
“Are you suggesting somebody kidnapped my boyfriend?” you asked, raising your brows.
“Stranger things have happened,” she offered.
“Your wisdom is very… Greene,” you said.
“Well, Maggie did help me see this world differently. I think we could all use a little Rhee/Greene wisdom right now.”
“If you find some,” you said. “Pass it along alright?”
“You got it,” Enid said. Bumping her shoulder with your own, you took a deep breath.
“I can’t imagine what she would think about me right now, En,” you said. “I can’t imagine the betrayal she would feel.”
“(Y/N), listen to me,” Enid said. “We spend too much time thinking about what others would think instead of just being in the moment with the people around us. I lost my best friends to Alpha and I lost a piece of myself, but I still have Alden. I still have that person who loves me unconditionally. I think that is more important right now.”
“I can’t stop the guilt,” you whispered.
“(Y/N), you’ve lost too much to feel guilty for loving someone,” she said. Enid then continued on, letting you absorb her words. The sheer fact that Enid was saying these things to you made you even more confused. It began to make you wonder if your friends were actually coming around to the idea of Negan being a part of the community or if they were just worried for your sanity.
If you were being honest with yourself, you didn’t know which was worse.
--------
When you returned to Alexandria, you found that Siddiq and Dante were being overwhelmed.
“What’s going on?” you asked as you walked into Rosita’s house.
“I don’t know,” Siddiq said, “it looks like some kind of bug is going around.”
“Are you feelin’ okay, Doc?” you asked, reaching to feel his forehead, but he swatted your hand away.
“I’m fine, but Ro is on bed rest for the time being. I’ve been trying to get her to sleep, but Coco is keepin’ her up as usual.”
“I will talk to her,” you said. “Go check on the rest of your patients before Dante passes out from exhaustion.”
“Will do,” he said.
“Hey, where’s Daryl? I didn’t see him when I came in,” you said.
“I think he went out after Carol,” Siddiq said. With a roll of your eyes, you nodded. Of course, he did.
As Siddiq went to go check on the others, you headed into Rosita’s room. “Alright, Ma’am, gimme the kid, I need baby time,” you said, reaching for the little girl. Rosita handed her to you without a question, sinking back into her pillows.
She did look pale and tired and you knew that she knew she should be resting. However, she was trying to be supermom. You respected that, but you also needed your friend to sleep. Sitting down in the armchair by the bed, you held Coco close to your chest, gently rubbing her back.
“Find him?” Rosita asked.
“Not yet,” you whispered, resting your eyes. “I did run into Enid, though.”
“Is she doing any better than Siddiq?” she asked.
“Not really,” you said. “She’s having nightmares.”
“So is he,” Rosita sighed. “I’m worried about him.”
“I know, I am too,” you said. Siddiq was always the voice of reason. He reminded you a lot of Herschel. It was no wonder that Carl saw the kindness in him as soon as he met him.
“(Y/N), about Negan,” Rosita began, but you shook your head.
“I can’t right now,” you said. “People have been giving their opinion on him since we got home from the fair and even more so now that he’s gone. I just need to sit here and hold your girl so you can get better. Please.”
“Okay,” Rosita whispered, curling into her side so she always had eyes on Coco.
“Rest, mama,” you said. “You need it and I got her.”
“Thanks,” Rosita whispered as her eyes fell closed.
“Any time, Ro,” you said as he pressed a kiss to Coco’s forehead and settled into the chair, propping your feet up on the bed. It didn’t take long for you to relax and for the little Espinosa to fall asleep. As you set there, you focused on the small breaths of the baby and wished for a miracle.
---------
From gravedigger to pig hunter, Negan was not having a good day.
He was especially missing you and following the skins around all day was starting to give him a headache. The only thing that was keeping him going was a trinket that was tucked into his pocket. It was something he had taken from your house the last time he had been there. It was a small marble that you kept on the mantle of your fireplace. You had told him that you had found it the first time you visited the Kingdom. It was black and white which reminded him of you and him.
He wondered if you had even noticed it was missing. Though, he figured that you were beyond pissed right now and a missing marble wouldn’t exactly mean much. Rubbing his thumb over the smooth token, he continued to follow the asshole in front of him.
He and Beta were butting heads at every chance they got. He knew that the bastard didn’t like him, but he didn’t really give a shit. He wasn’t there to make friends with him. He just wanted the damn Alpha. However, that was proving to be a bit of a problem.
Beta was testing him and he hated every second of it. Beta, however, seemed to be enjoying himself as he tortured, tested, and talked down to Negan. The latter had been around assholes his entire life and while Beta was a dick, when it came to being scary, he didn’t even touch Rick Grimes. Although, at least Rick would actually talk to him.
“I just don’t see the point in all of this,” Negan said as Beta led him through the dark woods. Beta just continued to ignore him. Negan had been playing Whisperer custodian all day and he was tired of it. Now, Beta had him wandering through the dark for some reason and Negan was already annoyed.
“Clearly,” Negan continued, “we are not jivin'. And, you know, to be honest with you, I totally understand the position you're in. You gotta be, like, the tough guy and keep everybody in line. I mean, hell, you know, I had guys just like you to keep my shit tight. Alright, maybe not just like you.”
Beta’s jaw clenched, but Negan went on. “Uh, hell, if I had some monster your size, things would've turned out different. For one, I wouldn’t be lacking as much Vitamin D.” Beta didn’t get the joke. “Look, whether you like me or not, I will be joinin' this team, so maybe we should find a way to get along, you know, and stop pissin' on each other's boots.”
“You will never be one of us,” Beta sneered, getting into Negan’s face. “You’re too loud, too weak, too full of ego.”
“Some people like my damn ego,” Negan offered.
“You are a waste, and Alpha will see it.”
“So, cards on the table, then? Cool. I dig that. See, I'm not here for you. I am here for Alpha. So, you go ahead, and you throw your little tests at me and you scowl and throw me on the ground like a five-and-dime Frankenstein. I don't give a shit,” Negan shot back. “See, big man, I ain't goin' anywhere.” Beta stopped walking and properly faced his antagonizer.
“Finally, something we can both agree on. You won't be going anywhere,” Beta said as the growls of Walkers echoed around them. The Dead stumbled towards them and Negan, who was weaponless, only got more pissed.
“Wait a minute. Did you just make a Goddamn joke? I would be impressed if I wasn't so pissed off right now,” he said. Beta then shoved him back towards the Walkers as he faded into the shadows, leaving Negan to the Dead. With a grunt, Negan turned to face his rotting enemies. “Oh, you have got to be shittin' me.”
------
Negan was covered in blood and the smell of rotting flesh, but he was alive.
And he was pissed.
Negan had fought for years. He knew how to kill in all sorts of ways and he knew how to kill Walkers. However, being thrown into that small herd with nothing but his bare fists had nearly killed him. The only thing that kept him going was you.
He thought back to the training sessions, you, Lydia, and he had done in the living room of your home. The hand-to-hand and weapons training was important, but then there was what Lydia had brought to the table. The number one thing that her mother had taught her was how to improvise in a dire situation. Anything could be a weapon and only you were the one capable of getting yourself away from death.
Negan had ducked and pushed his way through the Walkers, dodging their teeth and hands the best he could. When he spotted the fallen branch on the ground, he had laughed and picked it up. It wasn’t Lucille, but it would do. As he faced down the Walkers in front of him, he grinned.
“Lydia, give me strength,” he whispered as he swung.
Now, as every Walker was in pieces and he was drenched in blood, he strutted back into camp. Just as Beta was explaining to Alpha that Negan was dead, he made his appearance.
“I'm ready for my Goddamn skin suit!” he announced as he walked between Whisperers, the branch on his shoulder. “You best bring that extra-long tape measure on account of my humongous balls.” He spotted Alpha immediately. She was looking at him with curiosity and as much as he hated to admit it, Lydia had had that same look when she first met him.
Approaching the Alpha, he dropped the makeshift weapon and dropped to his knee in front of her. Alpha looked at him as if he was prey, but he didn’t back down.
“Hi, I'm Negan,” he said with a cocky grin. “We haven't formally met, but I sure as hell know who you are. And whether my reputation precedes me or not, I'm all in.” Alpha reached out and pulled a piece of flesh off his shoulder. “Whatever you want, whatever I got, it's yours.”
Alpha leaned forward then and placed a finger on her lips. “Shh,” she said and Negan just grinned back, knowing he had cast the line, all she had to do was bite.
