More or less, it’s a theory about why (in ASOIAF) Sansa still has Sandor’s white cloak because she dyed it in green to cover the blood stains. Cloak that she used to flee King’s Landing :)

I love that Sansa tag!!!! How about the remaining four of my own top five favs? Cersei, Euron, Melisandre, and Stoneheart I mean Catelyn? Also Roose, because he is a funny guy. I find it super interesting how everyone can envision such different takes on the same character!!!!

Let’s see… I don’t keep a huge mental list, but for me the definitive Cersei is by @bidonica, pojypojy at DA. Also her Jaime, Brienne, Roose, Melisandre, many other characters, they’re some of the first ASOIAF fanarts I ever saw, and always what I visualize when I read the books. Similarly, Jenny Dolfen is my go-to for the Starks, especially Jon, and Amok’s Targaryens are definitive. His depictions of other characters are on and off for me (not a fan of his Sansa or Sandor, among others), but his Cat is lovely and his Ned is perfect.

The best Euron, nobody else comes close, is by Mathia Arkoniel. Not all of her stuff is on her DA anymore, but there’s some here, and this pic (which looks like Greebo, lol), and she used to have some NSFW work on her personal site… does Wayback have it? um, yes. (There’s also some imo squicky pairings over at LJ’s asoiaf_exchange, which you can find yourself if you want.) Also, Mathia’s Cersei and Jaime are just perfect.

Melisandre– I already mentioned bidonica, but Donato Giancola’s done some beautiful depictions. Gosh, I’m not sure I could settle on one or even a dozen favorites, so many people have drawn Mel because she’s so classic fantasy. I think @alcoholicrattlesnake’s Melisandre is the one few I’ve seen to get the red hair and eyes/pale skin/ruby choker look done perfectly though. And you could check this search, that’s got a good list of imo perfect Melisandres.

Lady Stoneheart – one of the best, if somewhat show-inspired, is by Kay Huang. (Check out his whole ASOIAF gallery, it’s fantastic.) Another one of my favorites is @electricalice’s Maiden-Mother-Crone triptych, it tears my heart up every time. And for Catelyn in general, I’ve always loved Stephen Youll’s depictions for ASOS and AGOT. Mathia also has a few Catelyns in her galleries that are perfect too.

And Roose, uh, I don’t reblog a lot of Roose art because he creeps me the fuck out, but @kalidraws’s is very good. bidonica’s I already mentioned. And again, I don’t reblog because creepy, but @thrumugnyr’s Roose is pretty damn definitive. Oh, and the ones by Sardag and by BellaBergolts in this gallery are fantastic.
