In my late teens (and a wee bit of my early twenties) I played in Lincolnshire Jazz and Rock Academy - a mentoring programme for young musicians ran by Lincs Music Service. It was there I met super-saxman Simon Bates, who the tutors invited as an ‘industry expert’, to impart his knowledge of the business, jam with us and join in for our big finale concerts. For the last few years they’ve been inviting me back to events as one of those industry dudes (shucks) alongside Simon, and in March we got plotting together… So it brings me great pleasure to announce that Simon Bates features on my new album.
