I'm sorry I just cannot get over how BORING the eras tour book cover is. not only is it the same photo we've seen a million times as the tour movie poster but there's zero design elements to it?? I'd hoped that midnights + ttpd signalled taylor moving away from the recent album art trend of "just take a photo and leave it at that, who cares about incorporating the title or anything" but that's exactly what we're getting here 🥲 and it's even worse when it's a $40 coffee table book like those are meant to look good!!!!! bring back graphic designers we're in a pop culture crisis

#this isn't like an attack at taylor or something #i'm just confused. how does the world's biggest artist work with probably 100s of people to put out a book and not even give it a good cover #i've spoken before about this being my issue with many album covers these days too #and it's particularly weird when (like a coffee table book) the concept of buying music for display/collection purposes is so huge currently #like this isn't just a thumbnail on your digital library #artists are putting out a dozen vinyl variants with the most bare minimum album cover designs and it feels so low effort #talking #taylor swift

haven't yet gotten a set for thefoxholefund's dust jackets by danka (dankainart) and jane's (ouijacine) covers are at my dorms, as is fish's (salmonellafish) tsc cover

On display in my room, I have posters, pickets, photocards, lightsticks, a literal photo collage of Johnny Suh, txt cereal boxes- you name it…but what gets my dad the most is my istj polaroid of chenle just sitting on the bookshelf next to a framed picture of my brother and I.

^this flabbergasts my father more than soobin next to the trix rabbit atop my dresser

happy birthday to the best album ever! revenge is such a time and a place and i love it more every time i listen to it. cant even say how many hours ive spend just pondering the meaning and plot ironing out the details in my head, and i've still gotten basically nowhere! thats the hallmark of a GOOD fucking piece of media!

there isnt a single second of that forty or so minutes that doesnt go as hard as possible and doesnt go as ICONIC as possible. out of all albums, to me its very name and songs hold some sort of magic you can invoke just by reciting the titles and lyrics. Helena. I'm Not Okay. The Ghost of You. Thank You For The Venom. Cemetery Drive. I NEVER Told You What I Do For A Living. Perhaps it's because each word holds in it 20 years of connections and meanings and history. Every moment of it is so intense and real and deep and memorable. this album hits every emotion in the human spectrum and masterfully builds up tension and resolution and kicks you to the curb at the end, forcing you to just think about what you've heard.

this album has been there for me when no one else could and i understand fully that for the last 20 years it's been doing that for every goddamn person that listened to it.

ive only been into american rock band my chemical romance, and by extension three cheers for sweet revenge, for a year. a twentieth of its lifespan. i cant imagine how much more i will love it after two years, five, ten, how hyped i will be for 25 years of three cheers, for fifty, even seventy five. im legitimately so happy and excited to find out

so, yeah. three cheers to three cheers~

I don’t get it tho. They’re so quick with this portrait copyright but couldn’t stock his album? Couldn’t ship it in time? Couldn’t ship SD cds? And SD deleted sales? And what about Taehyung’s copyright for Borahae? And what about Taehyung getting stalked?

And what about Jimin’s dad displaying not one, but two members stuff in his cafè? Hybe threatening to sue Compose coffee for albums display (that are not for sale) when Jimin dad got albums displayed too? I’m very confused, but also I’m really not because we’re talking about Taehyung and ofc they’re gonna do everything they can to minimize his impact.

I bought myself some CDs :3

#five of them in fact. i have a collection of cds that i started in high school #and i've been making more of an effort to add to it lately with the decline of physical media #cds are so expensive now. like everything else. but it's worth it to me anyways #i did get two of them used so that brought the cost down a bit #but also! 3 of them have the little booklets with the tracklist and lyrics and extra art or photos #and another has a booklet that's just a ton of art the band commissioned for the album (or one of them did it themselves idk)#one doesn't have a booklet at all unfortunately and it's one that i bought new so it's not like it's missing they just didn't include one #which is too bad cause the one with all the art and the one with no booklet are by the same band so it would have been cool to see somethin #similar for the other album #still tho i'm quite pleased with my finds. i really love having physical cds #i'm certain one of them was the only cd from that artist in the entire store (huge place so much to look at i love going there)#her cds were completely sold out when i looked in the section they should have been in but i found ONE in the recent arrivals #they just keep all the cds they acquired within the last week in this one display organized only by the day they arrived #so i leafed thru the entire week's worth of cds and found this single album and it was such lovely serendipity #august talking

I think it would be really cool if Taylor eventually opened a museum that housed all of her artifacts from over the years.

New merch is actually really nice and I would have wanted that ring sooo so bad several years ago

#it's wild now that she regularly drops new merch for all old albums like that's so not normal. the level of popularity is 😵‍💫#i hate to be so 'i liked it before it was cool' but the fact that Everyone wears her merch nowadays does make me not inclined to want any #cause it feels less like something that i can wear to display who i am in a way? cause it's just like oh well everyone loves her 🤷‍♀️#to be honest i DO feel the desire to signal that im not someone who hopped on the bandwagon. so i only wear older merch #is that 'not like other girls' of me? maybe it is yeah
