so. i decided to delete all my mcyt fics off of ao3.

i know no one cares or is even really seeing this, but it's important to me that i like. talk about it? i very seriously considered orphaning my work, because i know firsthand just how devastating it can be for an author to delete a work rather than orphan it. but with the rise of ai and just my feelings about my writings in general, i'm not comfortable with my writing being posted online unaffiliated with me. at the end of the day it's my blood sweat and tears, it's my writing. so. yeah. sorry.

i lost my mcyt hyperfixation a Long time ago, and i've known that my interest itself was incredibly unhealthy. dont get me wrong, i had fun, but being involved in a fandom where that much sexual misconduct and csa accusations get thrown around is incredibly triggering and set me back years in my recovery. so. there's that. like i said, i lost the hyperfixation a long time ago, and i just kept up my works because i didn't want to take away something that someone may have gotten attached to. but this last time being triggered by sexual misconduct and csa allegations on the twitter timeline has to be my last time. i cannot have anything to do with it anymore, for my health and safety. not that these allegations are about me, they aren't. it's just the last straw for me as a writer. i had misguided faith in someone i hyperfixated on in a time that i was deeply unwell, and i was not following my values. i want to follow my values now.

also, i don't want to make any hard and fast statements but i don't think i want to write any rpf in the future. that's how i feel in this moment.

i don't think anyone's going to really miss my works, but i don't want to assume that? so if you really really really miss something i wrote that i deleted, send me a dm. i can figure something out, okay? okay. thanks

Karlnap Fic Recs (39 ao3 fics)

there’s a severe lack of karlnap fic recs on tumblr but don’t worry I’m here to change that

1. (Not) Just Another Cliche by notreallylizzie (38k, 6/?) Keywords: college au, enemies to friends to lovers (kind of), football player Sapnap, angst, karl centric My thoughts: this is my favorite Karlnap fic of all time. The characterization and plot are great. This is such an underrated fic and if you read any fic on this list, it should be this one

2. walking through your neighborhood by ivorysteel (7k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, strangers to friends to lovers My thoughts: really sweet fic that I’ve read a couple times

3. He’s my boyfriend by Not4typicalwriter (7k, 1/1) Keywords: 5+1, fake relationship My thoughts: I can’t remember much abt this fic bc I’ve read so many fics but I know this was a good one even though I’m not usually a big fan of 5+1

4. Under the Blankets JanetBaby99 (6k, 1/1) Keywords: ace Karl, hurt-comfort, angst, established relationship, kind of nsfw but not really My thoughts: I love this fic. Really good angst with a happy ending. The plot revolves around Karl telling Sapnap that he’s ace

5. Meant To Be Yours by ncthcritc (9k, 5/5) Keywords: high school au, student council vp Karl, football player Sapnap My thoughts: I’m not the biggest fan of hs aus but this was a solid fic. This is part of a series but you don’t need to read the other parts to read this part

6. Only Ever You by ncthcritc (12k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, roommates, sapnap is “heterosexual”, angst, friends to lovers My thoughts: in my opinion, between fic#5 and Only Ever You (they’re by the same writer), Only Ever You is the better fic. There’s some good angst in this fic and the plot is really good too

7. ‘Tis The Damn Season by Anonymous (14k, 12/12) Keywords: childhood friends, angst, coming home for the holidays, meeting after not seeing each other for a long time My thoughts: Holiday fics are literally one of my least favorite types of fics, so I was a little unsure about reading this one, but it was actually really good. The focus on holiday stuff is minimal and the plot is good. Lots of good imagery. Also, Karl and Sapnap’s parents are really cute/funny in this.

8. Wait For Me by cleopatras (11k, 7/7) Keywords: college au, strangers to friends to lovers My thoughts: okay yeah so I read this one a while ago and don’t remember all the details but I do know that this fic was good and I’ll probably read it again heehee

9. Should’ve known better by Not4TypicalWriter (7k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, strangers to friends to lovers, Karl has a girlfriend My thoughts: another I don’t remember much of but I know I enjoyed and will probably read again

10. Across the room & miles apart by fictionalparadises (8k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, sleeping in the same bed, Sapnap has nightmares My thoughts: I’m not the biggest fan of the characterization, but this is still a solid fic

11. 4 Rules for a Perfect Boyfriend by lyssforlies (6k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, enemies to lovers My thoughts: Not my most favorite, but still solid. Karl writes a checklist describing the perfect boyfriend and then realizes that Sapnap fits the list perfectly

12. Ab hoc, ab hac by Bohort (15k, 1/1) Keywords: college au, Sapnap is an idiot (this is actually a tag heh) My thoughts: This is definitely one I’m going to read again. Basically Sapnap is annoyed by dnf being all couple-y, so he asks Karl to come over

More fics: yeah I’m kind of tired of writing “my thoughts” (I’m vacuous!) so here are more fics but without that section. These are still solid fics, I’m just lazy.

Keywords: flower shop au (Karl works in a flower shop), slow burn (okay yeah this is super slow burn and the fic is incomplete but I’m including this fic on this list bc I’m hoping the author will update one day. I would be ecstatic if they did)
