Get to Know Me ✨
Thanks for the tag @chinzhilla! I was looking for an excuse not to write.
Do you make your bed? I wouldn’t dare. My dog sleeps there when I’m at work.
What’s your favorite number? 8. No idea why.
What is your job? Registered dietitian
If you could go back to school, would you? I would love to go back to college just to learn new things—maybe take some language or creative writing classes—but I certainly wouldn’t want to pay for it and I have no desire to change careers. I hate that they gatekeep further education behind a paywall. At least in the US.
Can you parallel park? Never have and never will.
A job you had that might surprise people? I haven’t had many. I’ve worked in retail, at my university’s career center critiquing resumes, and in my current profession. However, when I say I’m a dietitian most people assume I’m helping people lose weight or something, but that’s not the case. Most of my career has been spent in an ICU dosing the tube feeds and IV nutrition for patients unable to eat orally.
Do you think aliens are real? Obviously.
Can you drive a manual car? No, despite the number of times my dad has tried to teach me.
What’s your guilty pleasure? MAME. Always MAME. Actual picture of me watching anything written by MAME:
Tattoos? No, but I would like to get some Thai script now that I know enough Thai to feel like I’ve earned it. I can’t for the life of me decide what I want it to say, though.
Favorite color? Pink 🩷
Favorite type of music? Country. Go ahead and roast me, but I’m from Alabama. It can’t be helped.
Do you like puzzles? Yup. Especially crosswords.
Any phobias? Sharks. I was raised near the beach and there was a string of pretty violent shark attacks one summer when I was very young and impressionable. When I was a kid, I wouldn’t even go in pools.
Favorite childhood sport? Three guesses which sport my lesbian ass played. That’s right: softball. I didn’t actually enjoy it, though, and I haven’t watched a sportsball game in probably a decade unless you count GMMTV Starlympics, which I absolutely don’t.
Do you talk to yourself? All the time
What movies do you adore? Love Simon, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Mulan, The Old Guard, Frozen, the original Star Wars trilogy, Mean Girls. I honestly don’t watch that many movies. The most recent one I enjoyed was Bottoms.
Coffee or Tea? Coke Zero?
First thing you wanted to be growing up? Probably a pretty, pretty princess. I’ve never much cared for work, but unfortunately, I wasn’t born rich.
Tagging @thescrumptiousstuffs, @mbjw, @qt-qtoey, @sherrymagic, @whitnerd, @coconeedshelp or anyone else who wants to participate, but no pressure!

A school district in Alabama has been getting hammered by critics online after high school students allegedly exchanged racially violent and threatening messages—including remarks about lynching Black people—on social media.
On Tuesday, SnapChat messages circulated between students within the Oneonta City Schools district, sparking an investigation after three students reported the horrific exchange of messages to administrators.
“This afternoon, three students reported a Snapchat message from the previous evening occurring off campus between several other students that were offensive and divisive,” Oneonta City Schools posted on its Facebook page Wednesday. “I’m proud of the students for reporting this to their administrators as it speaks highly of them and their rapport with their administrators.
“The administrators immediately researched the Snapchat messages to gather facts and a decision was made to take immediate disciplinary action against those involved,” the post continued, limiting who could respond in the comments. “Our schools will not tolerate this type of behavior.”
The post garnered hundreds of reactions and dozens of shares, and community members flocked to social media to share their disgust with how the school district allegedly handled the students involved.
“I really love how they disabled the comments,” Oneonta resident Natalie Maude wrote. “I heard all they got was in school suspension and a slap on the wrist. Go figure. Go redskins.”
Some of the vile messages shared by students on Snapchat.
Screenshots of the vile SnapChat messages were shared on Facebook Wednesday by Oneonta High School alumnus Landon Bothwell, who said he obtained the images from his brother and current Oneonta student, Da’Marion “Fluff” Bothwell. Landon said Da’Marion got the messages from one of the other students included in the SnapChat group, and Landon decided to post them on Facebook to “let everyone know what that school is really about.”
“This type of activity isn’t anything new [at Oneonta],” Landon told The Daily Beast Thursday, explaining that it appeared as if the people in the group were planning to do something on the night of homecoming.
According to Oneonta’s football schedule, the homecoming game is planned for Sept. 22 against Fultondale High School.
In the screenshots, at least six people engaged in the SnapChat conversation.
“Let’s bring candles and nooses to school while wearing it,” one person says. “Hang the blacks.”
“With torches,” another person chimes in.
Another person suggests bringing “pitchforks,” “cotton plants,” and “signs that say negro bathrooms this way.”
Residents are angry that the Oneonta City Schools district has not done enough to punish the students responsible.
The Daily Beast reviewed unedited images of the screenshots, but chose to remove the students’ names. However, each of their names corresponded with players on Oneonta High School’s baseball team.
The Facebook page for Oneonta Baseball did not seem to address the controversy, though it previously reported other urgent issues like softball renovations in July and new batting cages in June.
No one from the superintendent’s office of Oneonta City Schools, the school board, the Oneonta High School administration, the Oneonta High School baseball team, or the parents of the students who allegedly exchanged the racist SnapChat messages immediately responded to The Daily Beast’s requests for comment Thursday.

Michigan Highlights | 2024 Rose Bowl | CFP Semifinal
Michigan vs Alabama Highlights (Alabama vs Michigan Football) | 2023 College Football Highlights. Michigan Football and Alabama Football played in the 2024 Rose Bowl, which was the first of 2 college football playoff semifinal games, as Texas vs Washington was played in the Sugar Bowl later in the day. Covering sports in a unique way since 2018. If you’re looking for high quality sports content, then this is the channel for you! I’ve covered Baseball (NCAA, LLWS, MLB), Football (NCAA, NFL), Softball (NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), and much more! The best part of my work as a YouTuber is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other YouTubers, which makes this channel that much more important. One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side. I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Ann Hodges shows off her bruise after being hit by a meteorite, 1954.
In Sylacauga, Alabama in 1954, Ann Hodges was napping on her couch, when a softball-size hunk of black rock broke through the ceiling, bounced off her radio console, and hit her in the thigh, leaving a very large bruise.
A geologist working in the area was called to the scene and determined the object was a meteorite weighing 8.5 pounds and measuring seven inches in length.
Ann Elizabeth Hodges is the first documented case of a human struck by a meteorite.

15 Questions
Tagged by @commander-krios and @keldae Thank you guys!
1. Are you named after anyone?
Not really? My mom’s the oldest of six. She met a little girl at my youngest aunt’s (she was 12 at the time) ballet recital and fell in love with her name.
2. When was the last time you cried?
I don’t remember the when, just that it was sometime in the last few months. My husband was trying to help pop the disc next to my shoulder blade back in, and then I couldn’t breath, and I got so friggin angry at my scoliosis that I started crying. Really freaked him out, because I’m not really one to get emotional about anything. The whole situation was weird, tbh.
3. Do you have kids?
I’ve got two teenagers man. Send help!
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Your realize there’s no right answer to this, right?
(#5 is missing btw)
It certainly is
6. What's your eye colour?
Grey, unless I’m ill, then it’s bright blue. Eyes are weird.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Scary movies all the way. I love me some zombies.
8. Any special talents?
My unending patience with grumpy people. It’s legit legendary, I’m not even bragging.
9. Where were you born?
Alabama, USA and I’ve lived kind of all over the south.
10. What are your hobbies?
Procrastination mostly. I occasionally dabble in some reading. I haven’t written anything properly in months, mainly due to the first hobby I mentioned. Oh, and I’ve recently discovered a love for baths.
11. Have you any pets?
A 5lb chihuahua. A 17lb maine coon. and a $.99 feeder fish that I didn’t think would last a year..... That was 7 or 8 years ago, he now has a 20 gallon tank all to himself and gets super excited when kids come up to see him. The fish has more personality than the dog and cat combined. I love that stupid, immortal goldfish.
12. What sports do you play/have played?
Softball, figure skating, cycling, a VERY brief stint of mountain biking, water skiing, basketball, cheerleading....
13. How tall are you?
Shorter than most of you....
14. Favourite subject in school?
Science and PE. Yes, I loved PE. I didn’t have to take tests or memorize stuff.
15. Dream job?
I genuinely don’t know. I’m pretty content where I’m at, and I think that’s all anyone can really ask for.
I don’t know who’s been tagged because I’m a terrible tumblrer (I’m old and tired and scroll mindlessly without looking at who posts what) So, I’ll throw out some no pressure tags @kunoichi-ume @dimigex @starknstarwars @salaciouscrumpet @rainofaugustsith @outcastcommander @eorzeashan @dingoat

John Galvin Duesler, Sr.
John Galvin Duesler Sr, 84, of Courtdale, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 23, 2024. John was born June 30, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Stephen Galvin Duesler and Anellia ‘Nell” Valaika Duesler.
John ‘Moose’ Duesler was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School Wilkes-Barre, where he exceled at basketball. After graduation, he began a lifelong career as a newspaper printer. John was a long-time employee at the Times Leader in 1978, when he joined the picket line to fight against the national conglomerate Capital Cities. John was one of the dedicated strikers who, with their families, launched The Citizens’ Voice Newspaper on October 9th, 1978. This family newspaper, despite all odds, is still in existence today, something John was so very proud of.
John met the love of his life, Dorothy Masonis, at Chuya’s Bar in Wilkes-Barre in 1960, marrying September 2, 1961, at St. Mary's Annunciation Church, Kingston. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage and created a legacy of four children, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
John was a devote Catholic and parishioner of The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in Kingston, serving as a eucharistic minister and member of their pastoral council. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Assumpta Council 3987, holding office of Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was active in their youth basketball tournament and Toys for Toys campaign, among many other fundraising events.
John was THE number one Notre Dame football fan. He was a longtime member of the Notre Dame Club of Hanover Township, travelling to many games in South Bend, Indiana. One of his proudest moments was accompanying his grandson Trevin on an unofficial visit. When he entered the locker room and looked around, John quickly told Trevin he was nowhere near big enough, the one time he was sad to be right.
John’s most favorite times were those spent with his family. He was proudest cheering on his grandchildren playing soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, and wrestling, as well as while attending drama and musical events. He never missed anything they were participating in.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2022, grandson Tyler Joseph Cowman in 2021, and son-in-laws Christopher Dubaskas in 2023, and Shawn Cowman in 2024.
John is survived by sons, John Galvin Duesler Jr. and his wife Bernice, Huntingdon Valley; Sean Duesler and Jennifer Yarnell, Kingston; daughters, Diane Cowman, Kingston and Denise Duesler, Edwardsville; grandchildren, Trevin Cowman and wife Brittany, Alabama; Galvin Duesler and wife Ashley, Wyoming; Trey Cowman, Wilkes-Barre Twp; Regina Duesler, Washington D.C.; Kasen Heim, Edwardsville; John Galvin Duesler III, Huntingdon Valley; Cameron Duesler, Edwardsville; James Duesler, Huntingdon Valley; Seaman Aubrey Duesler, stationed in Italy; Nell Duesler, Huntingdon Valley; Molly Duesler, Edwardsville; Kaden Dubaskas, Edwardsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and Ralph Flowers and lifelong friends Mary Nancy and Jack Kelley.
John’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Second Family Memory Care Center, staff at Providence Place in Drums, especially Mallory and Lucy, and angel Darlene and associates at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the outstanding and compassionate care provided to our Dad and Grampy John.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave, Forty Fort.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to his grandson Tyler Cowman's memorial foundation, TyJo and Co., which is dedicated to aiding children in need, at https://luzfdn.org/types-of-funds/tyjo-co-memorial-fund/ or by mail to TyJo and Co., c/o The Luzerne Foundation, 34 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
