Hi, Since You Never Walk Alone is an OT7 story, I am assuming that the OC is everyone's mate. But why does no one else feel the bond yet? I saw another reader ask the same, and I am wondering if she's just going to remain Jin's mate but others' unbonded mate. Is that a possibility? Are you going down this that way?

First and foremost, the oc is destined to bond with every member of the pack, gradually and uniquely. This is an ot7 story, and I want to ensure that every member forms a bond with her —not leaving anyone in an “unbonded mate” dynamic. To me, that wouldn’t feel like a true bangtan x reader story. While the bonds will all happen, they will take time and be triggered by different emotions and circumstances.

Jin’s bond with the oc was an extraordinary case, triggered by the dire need to save her from being burned alive by the very wolves who were meant to be her mates someday. If this vampire incident hadn’t occurred, the bonds would have unfolded differently, starting with another member and evolving more like a modern-day polyandrous relationship. Since this is so early in the story, we haven’t yet explored how the oc would have naturally met the pack and bonded with them under normal circumstances.

The essence of the mate bonds as being tied to the Moon Goddess’s divine timing. Each bond is often triggered by a powerful emotion or cause; something that deeply resonates within the wolf’s heart —I imagine most human-wolf bonds happening in airports, right when someone is about to travel away 😅

Jin’s bond was triggered by the desperate need to save her life. Jin’s bond almost represents a cruel irony —that the wolves nearly burned their own mate.

For the future bonds, and giving a sort of spoiler: each of the other wolves’ bonds will also be ignited by a strong emotional connection or moment: a protective instinct, emotional vulnerability, the relief of knowing she’s safe, a friendship deepening into something more, the ache of yearning, or simply pure, selfless love all of which begins with a spark of infatuation that happens once they meet her.

We’ll delve into those moments as the story unfolds. Each bond will have its own timing and its own story, reflecting the uniqueness of the pack and the oc’s relationships with each of them.

In the YNWA universe, mate bonds are an enigmatic phenomenon, deeply tied to the moon’s magic. Revered and sacred, they defy logic and understanding, existing far beyond the grasp of science or reason. Researchers have studied patterns, triggers, and trends, but no definitive explanation for how or why bonds form has ever been discovered. They simply happen as a reflection of deeper truths or needs that transcend comprehension of a simple human/wolf mind. There are certain things that are said to trigger a bond, but if the bond doesn't get triggered, you'd have gone too far with someone who is not your mate. So, trying to trigger a bond is often discouraged. Though, many wolves indulge in healthy amounts of flirting, platonic skinship etc.

For most wolves, bonds develop gradually. They often begin like any human relationship —through attraction, friendship, proximity, or even platonic companionship. A bond might not manifest immediately but could suddenly appear, reshaping the relationship overnight. The connection is like a fine thread, delicate and unnoticed at first, but over time, it can weave into a rope of unbreakable fibers, symbolizing the deepening and strengthening of the bond.

Sometimes, though rarely, bonds defy this gradual process and strike like lightning. A sudden realization, a singular moment of shared vulnerability, or an inexplicable pull can forge an immediate connection. This is what makes Jin’s first-sight bond so extraordinary. In a world where such bonds are almost unheard of, his experience is an anomaly, a sacred event that draws both curiosity and awe. For Jin, the thread didn’t take years to weave into a strong rope; it was already fully formed the moment he laid eyes on the oc.

While this is deeply significant to Jin, the rest of the pack views it differently. They respect the moon’s will and the mystery of its magic. To them, bonds are deeply personal and unpredictable, and Jin’s bond doesn’t necessarily mean the oc will bond with the rest of them. Polyamorous bonds, while more common among packs are just as unpredictable. A single person might bond with an entire pack, or the pack could divide into smaller clusters, each forming separate connections. In some cases, all members of a pack bond with the same person except one; instead, they find another mate.

The process is never rushed or forced. Wolves understand that bonds are not about science or choice but about trust in the moon’s guidance. Proximity, emotional closeness, skinship, and human feelings may encourage bonds to form, but they don’t guarantee them. Bonds happen when—and if—they’re meant to, and wolves know better than to question their timing.

For now, the pack approaches Jin’s bond with curiosity rather than assumptions. His connection to the oc is rare, even sacred: plus, the unfortunate situation of the bond and how they found her makes it hard for them to view it as a sign of an inevitable polyandrous relationship. Instead, they chose to remain open-minded, allowing time, proximity and shared experiences to reveal the moon’s will. As they spend time with the oc, dynamics will evolve, shifting in ways they cannot predict. Bonds will form between the oc and other pack members but Jin’s bond of first sight is gonna remain singular and unique.

From the universe's point of view, it is this uncertainty that makes mate bonds so profound. Whether gradual or instantaneous, they are deeply personal and sacred, bound by magic that no wolf truly understands. They trust in the journey, in the mysterious thread that connects them all, knowing that only time will reveal how their stories are meant to intertwine.

Okay, I think jinkook would be for desi-boyz, for 3-idiots maybe the maknae line or joon/jin as rancho, suga as raju and hobi as farhan.. I think jimin/tae would really suit any srk character because they have a very natural/genuine flirty charm with is a must for romance flicks.. 94 line for student of the year —munda 6 foot da *kukkad plays* that's our boy joon right there! Or even tae/jk? Or tae/jimin?

I don't why but suga or jin for lootera(?) Jin/joon for ra one —I've watched one too many chamak challo edit on instagram for the boys. Tae for jab we met.. koo for wake up sid and rockstar —i think jungkook really could take up any role because he's such a versatile personality in real life that I think it'd translate well over screen too. You can have him as a Don, as ranbir in yeh jawaani hai deewani or even barfi or tamaasha or rockstar or bachna ae haseeno. I think jungkook could pull off many ranbir kapoor movies. Joon/jin for Krish, those broad shoulders and physique is required for the very few superhero-ish movies that we have. Again Jin for Dhoom 2, I can see him being the white sculpture in that museum very clearly! Hobi or Jimin for Kaabil, Jinkook for war, Jin for guzaarish, Joon for ghajini, Jimin for fanaa, tae for Taare Zameen par!

I haven't really watched much bollywood movies in the recent years 😅 so all my thoughts are from older movies —but I'd like to know what you think, maybe on a later date I'll make a better list and send in another ask but this all from the top of my head!

I'm gonna put my response to everything (yay!!) under the cut:

1) OKAY JINKOOK DESI BOYZ AU IS GONNA HAPPEN... AT SOME POINT

2) Rapline as the 3 idiots pls ���🥺🥺. I think Joon is perfect as Rancho... just the right amount of cute and awkward. I think Yoongi seems like more of a Farhan to me though!! I always see him as the introspective one.

3) YESSSS.... I always imagine Tae as Raj from DDLJ (this is partly based on that clip of him playing the violin in a beret lmao) but he fits the nostalgic romance vibes so well. I see Jimin as more of the flirty, fun SRK roles like Dil To Pagal Hai or KKHH!

4) 94s in SOTY would be so interesting! I can definitely see Joon in Sid's role, but I'm unsure about Hobi as Varun. I like to imagine Taekook in those roles haha... all the girls would go crazy over them LMAO

5) OK this is shameless self-promo but I've actually always loved Hobi for Lootera. So much so I even wrote an entire fic, Autumn Leaves with him as the protagonist in Varun's role (it's one of my favorite things I've ever written). I think Yoongi/Jin would also be great choices though.

6) Maybe I'm a diehard hyung line stan, but I want Namjoon as Aditya! I actually think Tae would be more perfect in Geet's role - how fun would it be to see the roles reversed between them!

7) Jungkook is so versatile - he'd be perfect for wake up sid... or even Rockstar (I am a secret devotee of that movie I think it's so underappreciated). I've also imagined Yoongi in the Rockstar role. The one role I think JK totally embodies is Bunny in YJHD though, so you hit the nail on the head with that (it's one of my favorite movies!)

8) JOON FOR KRRISHH!! We've all seen his body. Nuff said.

9) I think maknae line would be so fun for Dhoom 2! Like maybe Vmin as Jai and Ali, and Kook as Hrithik?? I just see them being both comedic but also good eye candy for those high octane-action scenes.

10) I haven't watched Kaabil! I totally agree with JinKook for War though, that would be a great role, especially because they have such a good hyung-dongsaeng relationship, so it'd be interesting to turn that on its head.

11) JIN FOR GUZAARISH THO??? ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY (Seokjin angst is my fatal weakness).

12) Jimin would be so good for Fanaa... i'd love to see his transformation from the flirty tour guide to (no spoilers).

13) TAE IN TAARE ZAMEEN PAR YESSSS. I can't watch that movie without crying and now thinking of Tae makes me cry even more he'd be so perfect

I think with trauma responses, people kinda normalize it in an odd way —like if someone is giving up on stuff because they feel like they don't deserve it, they called selfless when in reality, they don't feel like they deserve it; when people are trying so hard to please everyone and be accomodating, they are called kind and nice when in reality, they are scared what will happen if they go against the person they are trying to please; when people stick to themselves and do everything on their own without any sort of emotional let out, they are seen as independent and as strong, but in reality, it's the hyper-independence, the fear that you'll become a burden and that they'll leave you because of it; all these are valid trauma responses and the widely known ones that are disguised as personality. I'm in no way saying that kind and selfless people don't exist or that independent and strong people don't exist! They do, but when you are all those things and more —not as a means to cope with or as a result of your trauma, you are never left with more bruises and trauma. When you are all that, you aren't more broken and traumatized than before just because you were nice, kind or strong or independent.

I think people aren't seeing yn for the broken human that she is —she isn't selfless! she wants nice things and people in her life too but she's scared! she's scared of being a burden and is heavily busy people pleasing and when she does finally kinda get better with her issues, the boys fuck up and she is having a major relapsebecause even her coping mechanisms are of no use now —completely understandable that she's returning to her dad because that's comfort territory, her father's place is familiar, so there's this hope that she'll survive somehow.

This is my two cents really, I'm not a professional, so I'd love to hear what you think but personally as someone who is hyper-independent and is always called strong and shit, yeah —I think I can kinda speak on this. This is my personal opinion and in no way am I trying to be mean or pessimistic about actual kind and selfless people who kind out of the goodness of their hearts but really, 'hurt people hurt people' is so true, trauma is often generational —meaning there's so many people with such coping traits that we normalize as good kid behavior and celebrate.

you're so incredibly right about this. i think this also applies to personality traits with introversion and extroversion. some people shame introverts as being too quiet and too shy or shame extroverts as too overly excited and openly passionate about things and i'm just like asdfghjkl just let people live, oh my gosh. when you shame people and put the blames on them without knowing anything, it hurts that person and breaks them down and it may not affect you in any way but it completely destroys that person. they'll have thoughts running through their head, asking and asking but never having an answer to things. and then you get angry that they do that when you're the kind of person who'll hurt others and be part of the reason why they question things so much and can't see their own worth.

people who have gone through trauma requires so much patience because even if you lift them up, even after time after time, they're still going to believe that in some sense, they're annoying and they don't deserve any of this. i've seen that through my own eyes and when others get irritated at those sort of things, it makes me so passionate and angry about it because none of it is their fault. none whatsoever. and if you say those things, it'll going to hurt them and we're going to return to square one all over again.

i'm glad you brought the idea about both the selfless and independent person because we've already seen y/n's "selfless" person and honestly, if y/n ever becomes "stronger," and as a result, less trusting of people, particularly the boys, i feel like there's gonna be another response with that being "omg can she just stop being so obsessed with her pride and trust the boys already?" -- like honey, calm your tits, just because a person has grown stronger doesn't mean their self worth is strong and they've come to know who to trust and who not to trust. trauma is seen in the both kind and gentle people, just as well as the cold and aloof ones (like the contrast between y/n and namjoon)

Okay, so yn reached out first asking about the paperwork and when joon said no rush, her reply makes it seem like she had plans to be home for the signing and because he says no, she's not coming home now? Is that right? Did she have plans to come home? Did she not tell her mother she'd be back home after chile or somewhere?

Again, yn just knowing that joon is stressed over something and reassuring him —which i completely understand if she did not, but it just hit me in the guts!

About Jin, I think it's kinda on brand for Jin to question things like this because right from the beginning when everyone is kinda monkeying around, Jin is constantly thinking of the women, like being their voice in when it's only the boys(?) Do I make sense? He talks about Haeun knowing they are going to confess, about yn fighting to pay for the home, about asking Haeun to pay yn, he's just constantly peacemaking in the group, so I totally understand him wanting to give this another chance.. do I support it? No. But I will say, while the twist isn't expected it makes sense if Haeun is their third girlfriend and they've already broken hearts before her.

I'm just bitter that they didn't give this consideration to yn, who truly deserved someone fighting for their relationship but they extend it to itchy sweaters 🙄🥴

Again, jin makes so much sense when you see it from their point of view, they fucked up and hurt so many people unintentionally, that they wanna try and do better for the ones they have right now.. understandable but not recommended when it's someone like Haeun.

Watching a relationship crumble is so sad, it always gets me heavy and teary.. and from what we can see, yn really tried her best, apologizing even when it's not her at fault, prioritising them over her needs, cooking and packing them food, staying away to make sure they get rest 🥺🥺 why did they break up with her so easily when she always walked their pace and literally was the best partner they could've asked for?!

So for starters, Y/Nie isn't coming back yet, she still has three months to go, she initiated the conversation since Namjoon was so persistent before about you know starting the process. So she just reminded him.

She always been like that, she was super understanding. And yeah Hobi!!!! Vhope are the chaotic ones and they're also going to be the ones who will cause the final explosion where in Y/N loses it when she is going to see them after she returns, there will be damage control by someone from the five but it will be a mess.

They still don't know about Ha-euns intentions since nothing much has happened on that front yet. They have been planning but Tae spun his magic and threw her out.

Jimin is such a mood, I swear i just want to pull out the yoongi in him sometimes. You know when at times Jimin is savage AF!!!

Tae is dreaming right now, he acknowledges that he needs to work his ass off to get her back but he is a bit overconfident that she will, if she does or not that's yet to be seen.

Jin is someone who thinks things through here, but his loyalties will always be with the boys. He is always be by their side even if he knows theyre wrong. But he is trying his best to salvage what is left. They have been unlucky in love, they've only been with people who have tried to take advantage, so Y/N was someone geniune but sadly they couldn't see. They ended up running away when there were problems. Which they shouldn't have, and have worked on it.

Y/N always walked the pace with the boys but somehow they didn't even bother understanding her.

And Danny and Yoongi, the reason why they are always at each other's throats is, at this point now, it is because she knows they hurt her a lot which she doesn't deserve. Danny speaks to the rest of the boys as well but yoongi's attitude bothers her. So after last update when Ha-eun starts her bitch trap Danny is the one who will catch Yoongi multiple times with Ha-eun when they hung out and tries to warn Y/N, but as usual out girl is too blinded by her own trust so she ends up ignoring the red flags. But again the hate that you saw in the first few chapters is because she knew something was up with Yoongi and also Yoongi is the one who introduces Ha-eun and the boys..

After your not so friendly get-together the previous night, Jungkook had gone home with a pounding headache and a heartburn he refused to associate with disappointment, choosing instead to blame it on the half sweet, half savory atrocious bucket of popcorn he inhaled between sobs.

A good reason. Where on earth would he find one of those? He had never needed much more than “because I want to” to justify his antics, and life seemed to work out just fine when he just kept following his every whim with little to no justification.

Your words had sent him once more into a philosophical spiral that had him questioning his very existence - funny how you seemed to be able to do that with such ease, unblinking and unflinching with a self satisfied smirk. At the height of his college age, Jungkook now needed to find a reason to do things? A good one, at that? Preposterous. 

And so, as he usually did in moments of great distress and moral conundrum, Jungkook seeked the help of his wisest friend, who certainly would be able to guide him to the right decision.

Yoongi was hunched over a duct-taped laptop when Jungkook found him, with eyes swollen and bloodshot like he hadn’t known sleep or peace in his past three lives. His shirt was covered in unidentifiable crumbs and his fingers permanently bent in a keyboard-caused claw, but Jungkook knew that under that goblin-like music production major appearance, hid a well of decades-old knowledge.

“I need a good reason to want to go out with this girl.”

Yoongi paused his typing to stare at his younger friend. “You… What?”

“I want this girl to go out with me and she said I need a good reason.” Jungkook repeated like it made the matter any clearer.

“And what is your current reason to go out with her?”

“Spite.”

“Right, of course.” Honestly, at that point, Yoongi should’ve known better than to expect anything else from his dongsaeng. 

“What is a good reason to go out with a girl?”

“Because you like her?”

Jungkook thought about the constant urge to rip out his hair and stab himself with a spork when you were around. “What else?”

“That’s pretty much all I ever needed.”

“Well, how do you know if you like a girl?”

“Aren’t you a bit too old to be asking that? Have you never had a crush on someone?” 

“Does Jessica Rabbit count?” 

Yoongi did not answer, just stared open mouthed at his friend who never ceased to surprise him. He was way too tired and way too swamped with assignments to truly begin to comprehend the depth of the psychological damage those questions indicated. Was this the result of being too loved at home, he wondered? Did Jungkook’s nice childhood build him no character? 

“When you’re with a girl” Jungkook continued, not bothered by his friend’s concerned astonishment “what are the things that make you think damn I really like her?”

Shrugging, Yoongi turned back to his wheezing laptop, deciding that it was best not to give much thought to whatever shenanigan Jungkook had brewing. He had learned that it was best to get involved as little as possible when it came to his schemes. “I don’t know, is she hot?”

You were scorching. When Jungkook first ran his fingers through your thighs in a soft caress that had goosebumps rising, he didn’t expect to find your skin so warm to the touch. Your presence enough was verging on stifling, but your weight on top of him and your blackberry-tasting lips pressed against his had him lightheaded and gasping for air, palms tingling from where it met your skin. You on his lap were an all encompassing experience that surrounded his senses. He felt you everywhere and the way you grinded down on him before separating slightly had him whining not unlike a desperately thirsty man in a desert. This is ambrosia, he thought, a term he learned from you.

When he looked up at you, everything intensified and he had to hold back the urge to buck up his hips and push you down on him. Your skin glistened and your lips were swollen from his bites, pupils twice the normal size. He allowed his hands to travel up your body, from where your thighs spilled from your shorts up to your abdomen, feeling the muscle spasm underneath his touch and your hips twitch when he climbed higher, reaching underneath your shirt in a way that had you falling back onto him, searching for his kisses as he pinched your…

Jungkook coughed, fixing his pants and shifting uncomfortably. “Well, yes” he answered at last.

Yoongi continued “Is she smart?”.

“What 's this?” Jungkook asked, poking around your coffee table as you took off your shoes and set your keys in a ceramic bowl.

“A book” you said smiling. “Are you not familiar with the concept?” 

“Haha” he laughed sarcastically. He flipped around the book, only interested in it due to the golden foil in the cover. “Are you… Enjoying it?” He tried to make small talk, unsure how to approach you now that you’ve reached your apartment after an hour-long make out session in the back seat of his car that had him harder than a brick.

You reached out, taking his hand and guiding him to your couch, long nails tracing lines on his palms “Yes, I am. It gives an interesting perspective on how mortality impacts our behaviours.”

He blinked rapidly, too distracted by your touch and the sight of you in those shorts sitting so closely once more. “Right” he agreed absentmindedly “mortality, sure. It impacts… What?”

You laughed and even though it was at him, he could tell it was one of those rare non-mean spirited laughs that he didn’t get the chance to see often and that softened your face into something that twisted his stomach into perfect boy-scouts knots.  

“Think of The Eternals, right? That Marvel movie. They live forever. Imagine seeing humanity through their eyes” your hand kept drawing patterns up his arms, voice soothing as you traced his biceps and Jungkook felt as if he was being hypnotized. “Imagine watching these beings tear themselves apart about things that, to you, last a little longer than a blink. Do you feel pity? Curiosity?”

“I-I don’t know.”

“I would feel jealousy.”

“You would?”

“Yes” you climbed on his lap, digging your fingers into his long hair and Jungkook thought it was the weirdest seduction technique ever, lecturing him about ephemerality while grinding down on his bulge, but goddamnit it was working. “When you live that long, you lose sight of how precious it is to actually live, because you watch things die with such unnerving frequency. What importance do your actions have if you outlive all the consequences?” Jungkook wouldn’t know how to answer that even if you weren’t kissing his neck, leaving him distracted and incapable of coherent thoughts, more so than usual. “If you’re mortal, time and death and decay give you a constant sense of urgency that intensifies everything and” you peck your way up to his lips and by then Jungkook is unable to identify your words “if you can die at any given moment, you have to enjoy things while they last.”

“So?” Yoongi called, waking Jungkook from his daydream.

“Oh, yes. She’s smart” he said. “Way too smart, actually, like, it might be a problem.”

“Maybe she’s the one that needs a good reason to be with you then.” Yoongi smirked as Jungkook flipped him off “Is she nice?”

Jungkook scoffed “No.”

“Is that why you like her?”

Jungkook felt like that answer would give his psychoanalytic friend too much ammo, so he remained quiet.

But kind of, yeah.

Wait…

Yoongi smiled, cheshire-like “So you do like her.”

“No!” The younger man denied “I’m just… I don’t know, intrigued! She’s hot, rude, smart, weird and hates my guts…”

“Sounds like one hell of a woman. Have you given her any reason to hate you? Actually, never mind, I know the answer to that.”

Jungkook didn’t have it in him to be offended. His friend was right. 

“Look, man, I’m not gonna validate whatever weird thing you’ve got going on with this girl. I have enough hanging over my head without the probable gnawing guilt. If you like this girl, really like her, you already have enough of a reason.” 

“But is it a good one?”

“That’s not up to me, is it?”

Jungkook decided that he was going to spend a weekend focusing on other matters. You had taken over his mind and schedule and he needed a break to think about something besides your smirk and demands. So he visited his parents, who lived less than an hour away and decided to join them watching his little sister’s soccer game in his old middle school in an attempt to clear his head.

Minha, his sister, wasn’t particularly gifted in the sport, but, much like her brother, she was driven and dedicated to everything she set her mind to. And, as it was the curse of all younger siblings, she was filled with unimaginable violence and anger, knocking down other little girls like a WWE fighter. 

Yeah, Jungkook didn’t know where she got that from. But it was amusing to watch the little ankle biter mow her way through the field and yell at the referee until the tired middle aged dad volunteering that day threatened her with a yellow card.

When the game ended in a close call victory to her team, he stepped out from the bleachers to meet her, avoiding the throng of small children on his way to congratulate his sister. When he got there, he was greeted by the one sight he was hoping to avoid on his weekend of peace.

You.

More importantly, you, hugging Minha while wearing a bigger version of her team’s jersey. You were crouching down to her level, saying something he could not hear while petting the girl’s hair, a kind smile he had never seen hanging from your lips that died as soon as you noticed him.

But before you could say something, Minha ran to her brother, climbing up his arms like she did when she was much younger. “Kookie!” she greeted “What are you doing here?”

“Came to see your big victory, Champ” he said, messing her hair affectionately. “Y/N” he greeted carefully.

You nodded with a tight lip smile “Jeon.”

“You two know each other?” Minha asked, gesturing to be put back on the ground.

“We go to the same school, Min.” you answered, noticing the similarities between the both of them to make an educated guess. Siblings. Of course your favorite little gremlin was related to your least favorite gremlin. 

“The same school? But you’re so much smarter than him!”

Jungkook sighed as you held back your laughter “Yeah, yeah. At least I’m not stinky like you. Don’t you have a shower to take? Hit the lockers, mom and dad are waiting for us.”

His disrespectful sister gave him a look before leaving that she could only have learned from you. “At least I know what deodorant is. You still don’t!” 

Jungkook sometimes wished he were an only child, but he knew that would’ve caused even more irreparable damage to his personality.

“She’s cute.” you commented, picking a backpack from the floor.

“The cutest” he agreed sardonically. “What are you doing here?”

“I volunteer as one of the managers to the girl’s team on the weekend.”

Taken aback, he asked “Why?”

“Because I want to?”

“Like, voluntarily?”

“That is what volunteer means, yes.” you started heading to the exit as he followed you absentmindedly, almost without noticing. “Despite what you might believe, I don’t enjoy torturing young girls.”

“Just grown men.”

“You consider yourself grown? Interesting.” You paused, as if considering if you should share something or not. “When I was a little girl, my team got booted because there weren’t enough staff for the girl’s sports. I didn’t want it to happen to this one and I needed the extracurricular hours. Plus, I’m the youngest of three. It’s nice to be the big sister for once.”

Jungkook thought of the booger picking, 4 feet bully he shared parents with. “I don’t know if nice it’s the word I would use.” 

“Well, for me it is. I like looking after these girls and I don’t want their hobbies to be taken away from them just because no one seems to care as much when it’s women kicking the ball. They deserve the chance to become good.”

You seemed so passionate about the subject that Jungkook refrained from commenting that some kids had a bit of work before they came even close to good. Even so, he was glad Minha had you and sad that he didn’t step up for his little sister like you did. 

“Is she nice?” Yoongi had asked and Jungkook replied readily. But now, watching you fix the little girls’ hair and help them with their shoes, he wasn’t so sure. 

Clearly, the problem wasn’t that you were nice. You just weren’t nice to him and the weight of knowing he did nothing to deserve you niceties started setting on him.

Maybe he really did need a good reason. But maybe, just maybe, first he had to be good himself, and he wasn’t so sure he had been. And watching you greet his own parents with a winning smile while handing them his little sister’s bag made him wonder how he could become at least good enough.

He was skulking outside yet another coffee place, as you seemed to have a financially unadvised obsession with those. And although it might’ve seemed so to any passers-by, he was not stalking you.

He just so happened to stumble upon this place where he knew you usually had a chocolate cappuccino on Tuesdays at around 3 in the afternoon, as you didn’t have classes after 2 on Tuesdays and Fridays. 

All of that knowledge had been acquired through days of observing and cataloguing your quirks and traits. Jungkook had decided upon further introspection that just his charm and thick, veiny arms would not be enough to lure you back into his bedroom and so he decided to do some research. His findings were both surprising and not at all: you were fucking weird.

There was the caffeine addiction, the concerningly decorated messenger bags and your fixation with small fuzzy animal figurines - which he had confirmed with his little sister were called Calico Critters and, according to the expert appraisal of the nine-year-old, your collection was worth quite the money… His investigation had brought him many findings and eventually led him here: your third favorite coffee shop where you seemed to be laughing way too hard at some guy’s probably lame jokes. Couldn’t be better than his, Jungkook thought bitterly. You had laughed way harder at your… Well, one date.

Jungkook was once again taken by irrational anger, as that was all you seemed to invoke in him. How come he was climbing up the walls of his tiny dorm, haunted by the thought of your psychotic self and you got to move onto the next man (or should he say victim?) as if your night together had never happened? He felt used!

He was so close to an epiphany with that particular thought, he could feel self-actualization kissing his piercings. Alas, Jungkook was not interested in facing his own hypocrisy that day. No, he only craved confrontation and so he stepped into the cafe with squared shoulders and puffed chest like a New York pidgeon on its way to the last breadcrumb.

“Y/N” he called while approaching your table.

Your tired eye roll sent a shiver down his spine, but with you he could never tell if it was annoyance or arousal. 

Most likely both.

“Jeon” you answered in a clipped tone “how unsurprising and unpleasant to see you yet again. This is Jihoon” you gestured towards the man sitting in front of you, watching the whole interaction with mild interest “Jihoon, this is my stalker.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt your little date” the way Jungkook spat out the last word made it clear that he was not at all sorry. “Also, I’m not a stalker.”

“That’s exactly what a stalker would say.” Jihoon extended his hand with an amused smile “So nice to meet you, Mr. Stalker. And please, don’t worry about our date” you snorted, making Jungkook feel like he was being left out of a big joke “this is just a couple of cousins catching up. You can still stalk her freely, although I don’t see why you would. Is it like a romantic gesture?”

“He’s already obsessed with me as it is. Don’t encourage him or I’m gonna end up in his basement.”

Jungkook felt the sudden urge to bite his fist and let out a five minute long suffering groan. Of course you were related. That look of unhinged superiority could only run in the family.

“Jeon, can I talk to you outside for a second?” You asked, but it seemed like an order as you pulled him away by his arm, Jihoon waving behind as you left the cafe.

Were you about to whoop his ass, he wondered. He didn’t doubt for a second that you could.

“This has gone too far now, Jeon” You said as soon as you were out of earshot from your curious cousin. “It was funny for maybe five minutes watching you throw a bitch fit but I’m tired of being afraid of opening my fridge at night and find you lurking behind the milk. You’re in my classes, my favorite coffee shops, the library and God knows you’re not reading in there… I even had to learn your name and for what?! What do you want from me? A therapist recommendation? A fucking exorcist?!”

“I want to take you out again.”

You blinked. Once. Twice.

“I hope you mean take me out with a gun and put me out of my misery!”

“I want to take you out on a date” he repeated resolutely.

“Why?! You said it yourself, you don’t have feelings for me, we have nothing in common… Haven’t I treated you shitily enough? Aren’t you loved at home?”

Jungkook scoffed. “We have plenty in common!” he said with very little conviction.

“Yeah? Like what?”

“Well…” he scrambled his brain for something believable, because he doubted you would believe he also enjoyed reading mildly erotic retellings of Greek Mythology in the school yard, like you so clearly did “That movie theater on Fifth Street that you love. I also love that place.”

“You do?”

“They did a marathon of a couple of Marvel movies.”

“They only show foreign movies.”

“Well, that one happened in Wakanda, so… Foreign.”

You looked at him like he had just said the stupidest thing on earth. Honestly, knowing himself, he probably did.

“First of all, it’s weird that you know my favorite movie theater and it does nothing against the stalker allegations.” Jungkook just shrugged “But fine, if we got so much in common like you say, why don’t we go watch a movie tomorrow? Mind you” you pointed a stiletto acrylic nail at him before he smiled too hard “this is not a date. This is a friendly get-together. After all, we have so much in common, right? Surely we’ll be the best of friends, like rats and the plague.”

It was not what Jungkook wanted, but being your friend was better than hiding behind the shelves of the university library, so he agreed. This was just a start and the perfect one at that. What could be better than a movie date, right?”

Jungkook had been crying for the last 50 minutes. When you suggested watching a movie about a dictatorship, he thought it was going to be a war movie filled with action, like Wonder Woman or A Bug’s Life. Instead, he sat through the extremely emotional retelling of a family who lost its dissident dad to the military-forced disappearances and bawled the whole time, because, hey, he loves his dad, okay? Meanwhile, you were stuffing your face with popcorn and holding back a maniacal grin, patting his head softly like he was a lost child at the mall. 

When the movie ended, credits rolling down the screen, he excused himself to go to the bathroom and try to wash his tear-streaked face. Ok, so crying (sobbing, really) at the movies was not the sexiest move he could’ve pulled, but surely an intellectual woman such as yourself liked an emotional man, right? His manly empathy probably got him some brownie points, no?

“So” you started once he left the bathroom, dabbing at his eyes with a tissue “Did you enjoy the movie?”

“Ye-yeah, I did. I mean, it was kind of sad, I guess. Did you enjoy it?”

“Oh, I had already seen it.”

Jungkook stopped “What?”

“Oh, yeah, I downloaded it illegally months ago when it first aired in the Venice International Film Festival but I wanted to see your reaction. Honestly, it was so worth it.”

Jungkook had never in his life had met a more infuriating woman than you and he had a younger sister with a mean streak. Everything you did and said sent him into a spiral of frustration that had him testing the enamel of his teeth from so much grinding. “Do you enjoy watching grown men cry?” he said through a fake gritted smile.

“Yeah, don’t you? This could be one of the things we have in common! Do you want to invite your friends next time?”

Honestly, that was not that bad of an idea. Jimin and Taehyung had both been on his face for the past few days, making constant fun of him for his useless attempts at wooing you, so Jungkook would really enjoy some revenge. Maybe he could film it and become TikTok famous, maybe… Jungkook shook his head. He was not about to agree with you!

“What are you doing, Y/N?” he asked, trying and failing to hide his annoyance at your constant nonchalant teasing “I thought this was a friendly hang-out. Why are you being a brat?”

You raised your brows and crossed your arms and Jungkook just knew he was about to get the verbal beatdown of his life. Even the weed-smelling teenager sweeping the carpet of the movie theater seemed to know that, as he quickly swept his way into the broom’s closet with a wince. “Trust me, this is not me being a brat yet. This” you gestured towards the both of you with a menacing finger “is me being friendly. This is me being friendly to the guy who has been following me around campus for a week, disrupting my studies and my schedule. This is me being friendly to the guy who has not been able to take a hint so clearly in his face that even a blind Sherlock Holmes would say it’s fucking elementary. This is me being friendly to the man who created a narrative in his hair-filled head where he slept with me, left me and got annoyed and offended when I didn’t want to do it again. This is as friendly as I can get with bored, spoiled men-children who seem to have nothing better to do with their days besides annoying women into going out with them to fill a void they refuse to address in therapy. This is all the friendly you’re going to get from me, Jeon.”

Silence reigned over the movie theatre and even the popcorns seemed to stop popping to listen to the on-going drama. It was hard to find something to say after being emotionally stripped naked like that on a Wednesday, but Jungkook had not yet learned to take an L and shut up. 

“Look, I get that I may have given you the wrong first impression” you scoffed and seemed to be ready to go for round two “but! BUT! People can change, can’t they? I get that I’ve been pushy and I shouldn’t have called you crazy…”

“That was actually the one thing you got right.”

“But I’ve been working on it! I found out the things that you like, I watched that sad as fuck movie for you, I even got you this!” he reached into the pocket and pulled out the last thing you expected from him.

“Is this a Baby Bakers Edition Calico Critters Bunny?” you asked, voice half awe and half confusion.

“My little sister said they’re limited edition. See?” he pushed the small bunny into your hand, watching you cradle it gently “I’m trying out here. What is it going to take for you to give me a chance?”

You toyed with the miniature’s ears, petting it gently as you frowned deep in thought. 

“A good reason” you answered at last. 

“What?”

“You asked what’s going to take for me to give you a chance. That 's it. I need a good reason. When I ask you ‘Why do you want to go on a date with me?’ I need you to give me a good reason.” You pocketed the bunny and stared deep into his eyes, an unsettling feeling growing in his chest “I don’t want to be some sort of point you’re proving or a challenge you’re overcoming. So I want you to give me a good reason why you want me.” you started walking away, leaving him confused once more “When you have that, then we can talk.”

Hello 🥺, I was watching Bhootnath the first with my younger cousins and maybe because I thought of BTS and bollywood too much last night, today when I saw the dynamic they —the ghost and the boy share, it reminded me of jinkook so so much —I can see the young baby koo playing bunkoo, the young boy in the story (not bunny koo, is it a coincidence?) and Jin playing Amitabh's role (as the ghost) I know it's an odd thing to think about and we'll never see this coming to life —but debut era kookie and an older Jin, still handsome and grumpy in his muddied/ghostified clothes. The ice cream scene, the breakfast scene everything reminded me of jinkook.

I don't know if you've watched it, but it was my childhood favorite 😍 and I completely blame you for giving me this new habit of reimagining bts members as lead stars in bollywood movies 🙃🤡🥴 It feels like you've ruined my movie rewatching experience 😂😂🤡

hehe, that's exactly why i made part 2 and 3 the past story. we didn't know much about their background, part 1 being the present time of their relationship falling apart, but never understood how they fell in love and met. part 2 and 3 was, in a way, a prequel, which makes it all the more heartbreaking because at that point you already know how things will end but you're left to read their beginnings, y/n's struggles, and the secrets that were kept but never given the opportunity to expose itself, not before everything fell apart

Now they are just each other's past and maybe if necessary, well-wishers. Honestly, I'd like it if it was all full names like Kim Namjoon and a bracketed note of don't pick up.

I have so many questions! Ignore them if they are spoiler-y but how long have they actually known Haeun for? Like when did they realise that they want Haeun and are done with yn? Why and to what extent did they go ahead with Haeun before yn caught them? Do they feel guilty about yn finding out before they could tell her? Maybe you will touch upon their moments in the past in the future chapters? What is yn's job? Like I thought she was BTS's camerawoman soley based on her profile, then thought she is a photographer then you mentioned travelx and her Paris gig... What is her job?

I'm asking too many questions and it's too early on in the story, it's because I'm sleep-deprived right now and honestly, I like the pain. I wanna get wrecked by the angst train and I know from experience that if you have enough fluff in the beginning, then the pain becomes ✨PAIN✨

She understands you like nobody else? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that almost insinuates that they were not doing great in their current relationship.. also the audacity to ask yn to be understanding?! 🙄

And, why is yoongi this whipped? Like what did she do to you? Also mr. Kim i-can-smell-fake-people Taehyung, where are your superpowers?

Out of all them, I dislike 2seok a little less, atleast hobi acknowledges that they are being insensitive.

And not yoongi straight up calling dani a demon for giving the excellent advice of getting under someone to get over them? Why do you sound jealous? You are planning to get Haeun under you anyway.. Boy, all of you cheated on her! She can get under as many people as she wants, hell if she wants to top someone, she can do it. And if she wants to do both, she can do it too!

Also, hobi double checking if yn really doesn't want the money back and joon asking what part of the message he doesn't understand.. the part where your ex is willingly letting go of money deposited for your home that your current girlfriend can't afford and is having you pay for her.. that's the part.

But I'm kinda worried for yn though because she's clearly avoiding talking about the subject to her friends and we all know that's not healthy... I wonder what her dream was and what she gave up to be with the boys..

Okay so this is a long list of questions but il answer the basic ones, which won't give away much😅

1.So yes they down graded. They don't realise it yet. But they will.

2. Y/N has basically been avoiding talking about the breakup ot even dealing with it in the first place. That's unhealthy and it's going to blow up bad.

3.About their relationship if they had problems? Yes they did. Like any relationship but Ha-eun feeded off those problems and manipulated them into thinking she was the one for them.

4.About Y/Ns job, she's a cinematographer now. She worked with them for a project that's where they met. She didn't per se work in the same company it was just a project to project basis. And yes she's a head cinematographer for travelx.

5. The dream that she gave up will be revealed later. That's a big spoiler;)

6. So, why yoongi is whipped will also be revealed later.

So I hope this answers at least the basic ones for now. But rest will be revealed later as the chapters progress.
