Really wanted to draw Akemi swinging a Bicycle - since she is an OC that originated for the Yakuza franchise 👀 in her lore in Lookism she is tied to Yakuza and has been in Dotonbori in Osaka for the longest time before taking on the guardianship of her Cousin Otsuyu in Korea.

Usually she will fight you with Snake style Kung fu (and poison) but she’s also using her surroundings to her benefit. Hope the owner of the Bicycle got an insurance…

Most of the time she works to ruin or blackmail people with information, as she is an information broker (Grimms and Mi-Yeons boss) - but she’s the closest thing to a mom for Otsuyu, so she will go all out if her chiclet is in danger.

Something about Otsuyus guardian in Seoul: Shibusawa Akemi!

Unlike Otsuyu herself she is an actual fighter of the first generation in japan. As a master of snake-style kung fu she's striking weak spots of enemies precisely. In the worst case for the enemy she’s coated her claws in Poison - preferably Belladonna, since she’s a bit immune to it herself since she uses bits of it as a sense-enhancer.

Her poisons are all home-brewed which brought her the nickname „Alchemist“ and while her main focus is on exhausting a foe slowly rather than quickly overpower them, she can crack bones like a python.

Luckily for Seoul, her mission is to keep Otsuyu safe and she keeps to her occupation as an information broker.

Otsuyu doesn’t know much about Akemis past and will only find out after her personal arc what Akemis skills are and that this woman operates in the gray zone of law… And also that Kurage (oc by @mandarinasart ) - Akemis husband and therefore Otsuyus other guardian - is a dreaded Yakuza of the Iwashita clan.

A/N: I am flabbergasted that I got the story and animation done until Valentinesday. Although it wasn’t planned, it just fits 👁️👄👁️

This plays in Busan Arc, meaning Otsuyu and Vin are already an established couple and it also explains how she came to aid Allied in Busan.

Allied returned to the hotel in Busan, in order to prepare for their next encounters. Especially Vasco, Zack and Vin  had to change clothes to fit the image better. 

Though as they arrived at their room, they noticed that the door was unlocked! Was the Jinrang gang already aware of their plans and location?! 

Carefully Daniel wrapped his fingers around the handle and pushed the door open - just a little, to get a glimpse on the intruder. 

"Oh come on, we'll beat whoever is in there!" Vin complained behind the leader and gave the door a shove. 

"Nah, you won't beat me, babe!" Came the cheeky answer from the small figure sitting on the couch. 

"BABE!!" Vin yelled, immediately lit up at his girlfriends' sight. His arms spread as he approached her. Otsuyu got up and closed in on the tall guy, though she offendedly tapped on his chest, when she arrived: "How DARE you leave for 'an important mission as 2nd in command of allied' AND THEN I SEE VIDS OF YOU GUYS PARTYING?!" She accused poutingly and mimicked the tone of his voice as she cited him. 

Vin merely ignored her yammering and wrapped his arms around her, making her squirm in his arms. "You can just admit that you can't survive a day without Oppa~" he mused and she spurted in his embrace, before she answered smugly: "That would mean you're older than me, but I. Am. You can call me Noona." - "Never~ 18 days don't make you Noona~" He snickered while he ruffled her hair. 

The rest of allied watched the scene in horror, disgust, jealousy and embarassment. 

"Well, this is awkward.", Hudson dryly commented and Zack sighed: "That's just the start of this... obnoxious - is that the right word?" He turned to Daniel, who just shrugged, but next to him, Jay nodded encouragingly, "Yeah, as I said, obnoxious couple." 

Vin grinned confidently at them, despite Otsuyus finger poking his nose, "You're just jealous, Assholes~" 

Daniel then steered conversation to Otsuyu, whose hair was a mess at this point, "How did you know where we are?" 

"Akemi." She said and pointed to the silent adult, who was occupied with her tablet. Akemi looked up for a moment "'Sup.", She greeted and returned her attention back to the screen. Vin waved to the woman nonchalantly, while the others didn't quite get what Otsuyu meant by just dropping the name of her cousin. 

The leader of the crew was unsure about this development and voiced his concern: "Otsuyu, listen, I know you think we're just here to have fun, but it's actually a dangerous mission!" 

"So?" She asked with a brow raised and her hands on her hips, "Even better you got more back-up. I can stun opponents and lock their movement with precise punches on their neuralpoints." 

Now Daniel blinked a few times. He has just seen her in action once, at the cagefight of the 2nd affiliation and she never used that skill. 

"I could also attempt to boost your vitality!" She offered and Daniel was even more stumped - so Vasco asked what she meant. 

A smug grin appeared on her lips as she pulled out a few needles from her pouch, "I'm learning acupuncture!" 

"That's certainly convenient." Hudson muttered and rolled his shoulder, a motion that Zack also did, as he added: "True! Hey I've got this knotting feeling in my back from all that studying, might wanna show what you can~!" 

Now Otsuyu lit up and raised the needles, "Sure! Though I am still practicing." She led Zack to an unoccupied couch that was still close enough to her mentor to watch what she does. Even though Akemi seemed absent, she was keeping an eye on her cousin. 

When Zack stripped off his jacket and shirt, Vin stirred towards him, "ZACK, THE FUCK'RE YOU UNDRESSING AROUND MY GIRLFRIEND?!" Though he was stopped by Vasco, who stood between them. Behind him, Otsuyu waved relaxed, "Don't worry, Vin, I'm not into him but I gotta see where I'm poking, or else he might die instantly and in horrible pain~" 

Now Zack jumped up and away from the girl, "WHAT?! I CAN DIE FROM THAT?!" he was a lot closer to Vasco now and everyone else was silent. 

Otsuyu dramatically sighed and said "It's one of the risks..." as she stared onto her needle. 

She couldn't hold the conflicted expression for long, since she started to giggle to herself, "Jokiiiing~" 

Zack was still in shock, much like the other members of Allied, except for Vin Jin, who started laughing out loud like a Hyena. His girlfriend enjoyed that she got them all so good.

"Woooh~" Vin Jin cheered, clapping, as he was coming down from his laughter and commented "And that's why I love you."

Now every face turned to him in shock. The boys never heard him declare his feelings towards his girlfriend EVER and it was obvious that even Otsuyu was in shock. Her face was red and she was unable to get any sound out except for a hoarse long stretched gasp. 

Hudson Ahn was was first one to realise that, and evaluated Vin Jins confession with a deep sigh: "No class... 0 points." 

Vin raised a brow, while they were all staring at him, unsure of what he's done, "What? What are you looking at?" 

"ILOVEYOUTOO!", Otsuyu then blurted out in excitement. Vin was dumfounded by the sudden confession but his inflated ego immediately responded, "Aww where's that coming from, hm?" He flirted and got closer to his girlfriend. 

"No, man... Didn't you realise?" Zack said, still very confused about the shift in mood within the room, "Please don't tell me you confessed first right now?" 

"The fuck are you talking about, I didn't-" 

"YOU DID!", the guys, and even Akemi, answered. 

Now Vin looked even more confused and repeated, "Nah, I didn-" though it clicked in his brain. 

Zack sighed and got out his phone, "Thanks, man, I lost the bet now." 

"Bet?" Daniel wondered and Zacks phone chimed with a jingle frim transferring money, before he elaborated: "With Zoe. She was sure Vin would slip first and I bet on miss Simp here." 

He pointed on Otsuyu who was cuddling up to a deeply embarassed Vin Jin.

They've never seen him so defeated.

This could be an easy question to just count people but I'm always yapping so this will get long 👁👄👁

The Canon Cast

Having a close friendship to Otsuyu is a difficult to achieve tbh! She's super perceptive due to trauma and doesn't to well with people that focus on shallow values. This is one reason why she appreciates Mary Kim and later even Vin Jin - the latter only after his "two lackeys" left his side! (they're last seen - outside of a flashback - during troubled transfer after Vin has been beat by Logan) With Mary and Vin, you just know where you're at.

She herself can be considered blunt, cheeky or even rude, because she's not afraid to speak her mind or challenging people. But this is also a good thing for her so she can filter people she actually wants to befriend from those that will cause her headaches.

Personally, she adores Duke and often approached him to talk about studies or raps. He helped her lots with Korean writing, since she's still having a hard time adjusting to a different language. Her ways of helping him during the time Vin Jins bullying was the worst just wasn't very loud. She has the feeling if she's protecting him loudly it will not fire back at her but further against Duke. So, instead of calling Vin and his lackeys out, she rather removes the writing about Duke's Grandmothers food stall on the blackboard or tries to lead the bullies' attention to her by proposing another rap-batte. After he's a trainee at PTJ-Entertainment their friendship mellows down though, since he's become very busy and - as I assume - is even spoken free of school to focus on his career rather often (?)

Of course Vin complained about that picture but Otsuyu knows - she knooooooows

She's decent with a lot of people of the canon main cast but that's about it from the people she is or was close with.

There are many characters she has strong (positive i.e. Sally Park and negative i.e. Logan Lee) opinions about and even more characters I WISH she could get to know (like Jerry for example) but I just don't see any possible connection in her timeline ;w;

I do think that she's going to get closer to other people in future if there's any space for her around Allied or if I consider her taking space as part of this crew, like being legit "their lifeline" because of how she acts in combat situations. Especially since she's getting tutored about the using human bodys' vital points against enemies and in favour of her allies (like acupuncture) to boost their abilities by her cousin post her own arc. (which is still a WIP)

Now to OCs!

While the canon cast has MUCH to be desired for her, there are also a few OCs she's having a real connection with.

Of course she's super close with her guardians: her cousin Akemi Shibusawa and Kurage Iwashita (who belongs to @mandarinasart ) They've been with her ever since she had to leave japan and came to Korea. At first Akemi only saw Otsuyu as a protection job, since Otsuyus father also pays her to take care of the girl, but over time they bonded a lot. She's become quite the maternal figure that Otsuyu needs, while Kurage is the paternal counterpart.

And even though Kurage takes over the paternal part in Korea, she's still very close with her father and her brother - who she both misses a lot and videocalls pretty much every weekend.

Now she's also good friends with Sameko Iwashita and Gintoki Ishiwaka (both by @mandarinasart ) who were part of the Athlete dept in J high! Sameko really put in the effort to befriend the japanese, even though Otsuyu was very sus of her friendliness. Though as soon as they became good friends, introducing Otsuyu to Gintoki was far more natural, because Gintoki and Otsuyu both like to tease Sameko a lot.

Other than that, she's not particularly close with Grimm or Mi-Yeon but she thinks they're amazing - even though she's left in the dark WHAT they actually work for Akemi. She thinks that Akemi is leading some sort of consulting business, which is specialized in tech - since Grimm is a software specialist and Mi-Yeon hardware. It will take lots of time until she gets that they're actually an information-broking-network and Grimm pretty much works as spy and Mi-Yeon supplies them with gadgets.

Last but not least, there are the "useless old men" as she calls them. They do not have a face, yet, but they're men ranging from 40-70+ that reside in her hotel and often lounge in the lobby. She's listening to the most ridiculous conversations (like that | YT link | 7 1/2 minutes long) and sometimes even joins them to bicker along.

Got my girl Akemi tuned up for the PTJ-verse. She's going to be Otsuyu's (my main) guardian, as her older cousin. Meanwhile she expands her information network in Seoul and gets to know some very interesting people.

Anyways, Akemi is a good fighter. She depends a lot on her snake-like flexibility but she needs a certain power to overthrow her opponents or keep them down until the poison kicks in.

Despite her maternal and caring attitude towards Otsuyu, this woman is dangerous. She does have a knack for underestimating younger fighters though.

If we do get to know more about Majima and Kiryu, i mean, the Yamazaki Gen 0 of Lookism, I would consider linking her lore to them 🤔

Fourth is Morio Murasaki, a fixer in Sotenbori, who helped Akemi big time, when she tried to flee from her past.

She's the CEO of the Parfume Brand "Peony Marvel" by day and a Jack of all Trades by night. Meaning: her schedule is packed.

As the daughter of Shibusawa Keiji she grew up surrounded by Yakuza and was often put together with Daigo since they're the same age. Though Daigo was a complicated child back then and both had to overcome the "I don't like boys / I don't like girls" phase. They only truly bonded after both their fathers fell from grace.

After the death of her mother, she dropped out of college and left on a one way ticket to Kansai, where she lived 12 years with a fake name, given to her by Morio (OC of mine), who's a pass-smith.

The almost death of Daigo in Y3 brings her back to Kamurocho and she tries to aid him and a few other trusted members of the Tojo-Clan. Amongst them, there is Saejima Taiga, who becomes the love of her life.
