it’s saturday morning, and his eyes trace the outline your figure beneath the bedsheets. you look like a sculpture with the way the fabric hugs your curves—you surely belong in a gallery, he thinks, incomparable to any other artwork.

University AU setter squad (also known as gc: japans finest) who get into way, way more trouble than they can afford. It always ends with Iwaizumi, Daichi, and Kuroo (who are the designated setter rescuers) on the way to the local station at 3am. They've driven there like 90 times for reasons no one wants to repeat.

Kuroo and Bokuto don't understand how their boyfriends, of all people, keep getting into this. Kuroo sure as hell doesn't understand how Kenma ended up with a scar running from his ankle to knee, and Kenma's explanation of "river" doesn't do much for him either. Akaashi should know better than to get into bar fights. Bokuto finds that Akaashi does not, in fact, know better when Akaashi comes home with a busted lip. It's okay. The other guy looked worse.

When Oikawa calls Iwaizumi at 5am because "oh my god iwa they're going to make us do crack" he damn near has a heart attack. Iwa's out of bed in, like, a minute, and he finds Oikawa and Kageyama at a fucking bath house in Tokyo, of all places! And they're trashed! Kageyama's never been as scared for his life as he was on the drive back to iwaoi's apartment.

Sakusa expects it. Sakusa's pretty well aware that his boyfriend's awful and gets into weird shit. He draws the line at waking up with Osamu Miya in his bed. Or, at least, he thinks it's Osamu, because Atsumu dyed his hair fucking BLACK last night and didn't tell him! Atsumu's banished to the couch for two nights. Daichi prefers not to remember what Suga gets up to. But Suga makes it really, really hard when he comes home with a tramp stamp. Daichi yells "You're gonna be a teacher, Koushi!" when he sees it, then settles for shaking Suga by the shoulders as he just cackles.

thought of the day turned unstructured blurb bc I feel bad for not posting anyone other than atsumu lately (and bc my next post is going to be atsumu again LMAO):

introverted “black cat energy” reader that tries to come off as intimidating and kind of cold in public, who’s not very into PDA, and akaashi who knows it’s all for show solely bc he lives with you and knows what you’re like 90% of the time. especially when you’re recharging from a social outing.

“you’re so warm, keiji,” you mumble as you nudge your head under his chin.

his hands are pressed gently against your shoulders, keeping you at arms length as you try to nuzzle your face against his body like an actual cat. he laughs and angles his head back on the pillow and away from you when you accidentally sigh too heavily against a particularly sensitive part of his neck.

“and you are very wiggly, sweetheart. just relax with me, didn’t you say you wanted to recharge your battery?“

you groan and struggle against his arms, trying to get closer. “I am recharging! let me near you,” you whine.

he laughs again (because when isn’t he laughing with you around? you make it so easy to let loose.) and retorts, “recharging with what, static electricity?”

you just giggle and take advantage of his loosening grip, finally flopping down and pressing kisses all over his face, nudging your nose against his and most importantly, pressing yourself tightly against him so he doesn’t have the chance to push you away again. “with affection, smartass.”

the laughter dies down and you stare at each other for a bit, a tender silence taking over the moment. akaashi’s gotten good at reading your expressions- after all, that’s how you prefer to show your deep, unwavering devotion for him in situations you would never feel comfortable doing any of this in. and right now your expression is telling him that you want to be held, loved, cared for after a long day.

and of course he’ll do that for you. why wouldn’t he?he moves his hands again, but this time one caresses your back and the other strokes the bridge of your nose. “you’re not so scary when you’re beginning for attention.”

but of course he has to tease you a bit first, that’s non negotiable.

your jaw drops and he smiles, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “keiji!”

idk I just think he gets so smiley around you :((( and he absolutely wouldn’t mind you being less affectionate in public for whatever reasons you have!! he just wants you to be comfortable!!! and he knows you’re probably going to return it tenfold when you both get home to make up for missing his touch 🫶🏻

He’s been cooped up for damned hours in that room of his.

Keiji was nothing short of an aggressive worker, putting his mind and heart fully into whatever study he was currently diving into. It was something you adored, of course you did, he’s a passionate man who thrives on doing well for himself, thus being better for those around him.

But it’s two in the morning. The bed is cold, your fingers stroke longingly over his pillow, and you hear the coffee maker go again, and you feel a slight tinge of betrayal in your heart. You missed him, you needed him, and he was completely tuned out of it.

And that simply wouldn’t do. Not if you had a say.

With a sleepy sigh and a palm to your eye sockets, you stalk slowly out of the bed and into the kitchen, shielding your eyes from the stove light that’s far, far too bright. He looks devine carved in the moonlight, looking over papers again while he chews anxiously at his thumbnail. You offer him a soft ‘keiji?’ and your heart flutters as he physically relaxed at your voice.

“What’re you doing up so late?” He mumbles, tossing the packet to the side. Then, he smiles tiredly, “thought I tucked you three hours ago.”

“Not tight enough,” you sigh dramatically, heading over to him. He opens his arms to let you in an embrace, and you forgot how good he smells when his body’s warm with focus. “Need your arms around me to keep me asleep.”

He sucks in a deep, remorseful breath through his teeth, squeezing you just a tad tighter. “Shit, I know baby, I’m sorry. I’m just so into the thick of it and I’m scared to lose my mojo.”

“You’re not going to lose your mojo,” you whisper into his chest. “If anything, you’re going to get burnt out. And I’d hate to see that happen to you over something that couldn’t been gently avoided.”

He chuckles, the sound rumbling in his chest and making you smile happily. “You’re right,” he confesses. “Let me just finish this cup and I’ll come to bed.”

“No.”

“No?”

“No,” you repeat. “You’re coming to bed now.”

“But what about my coffee-“

You slip from his arms and grab the steaming cup. The smell is comforting, intoxicating, but it’s your enemy right now, and you need to show that. You open the fridge and plop it in, closing the door with a swift swat of your hand. “Congratulations. Now you have iced coffee in the morning.”

He laughs again, the sound absolutely invigorating. “Okay,” he says, watching you. “Now what?”

“Now-“ you gently grab his hand and lead him to the bedroom, ignoring his protests of ‘wait, my lights are on’ and ‘at least let me bookmark.’ You guide him to the bed and, with an easy push, shove him to the bed. “Jammies. You want shorts or sweats?”

You’re surprised when he’s compliant, letting you undress and dress him into the comfiest clothes and sprawling out on the bed. You take off his glasses and fold them to your nightstand, and with a smile, you take the hand closest to you up towards you, placing small kisses to his fingers, knuckles, nails, nipping playfully at the pads and nuzzling into the overworked, warm palms you adored beyond words. The nails on your other hand gently trace over his forearms and biceps, goosebumps raising under his skin at your ease.

“I hate having you work yourself so hard,” you whisper, almost tearing up when the hand you’re holding cups your cheek. “You’re going to get sick. You’re going to lose your mind if you keep forcing yourself. You’re going to fall out of love with the things you love most-“

“No, I’m not,” he says sleepily, thumb stroking the plumpness of your cheeks. “I love you the most. Everything else, writing, reading, studying, researching, they barely hold a candle.” In the dark, you can make out an adoring smile. “How can i not love you most when you take such good care of me?”

“Ew,” you tease, trying to ignore the way your heart flutters and your eyes sting at his words. He laughs softly before slowly lowering his hand, letting it plop against the mattress.

“Can I have a glass of water?” He says sweetly, almost childishly, and you smile with a nod.

“I’ll take care of your lights, too,” you assure, before making your way out to retrieve his drink.

The light above the stove flicks off, shrouding you in darkness. Next, his study, where the lamp above his papers is scalding hot from the overuse. You know his laptop has an auto save, so you close that as well before heading into the bedroom.

You smile. Keiji is completely knocked out and curled up in a small ball under the sheets, lips open and letting out the quietest little snores. You tiptoe to place the glass on his nightstand before slipping into your own side, burrowing under the covers and wrapping him in a loving hold to fall asleep with.

You, too, were lulled to slumber within minutes.

Akaashi Keiji and Oikawa Tooru are very very good friends, which is something not many people know. More often than not, when Bokuto has had an especially bad day (which means Akaashi's had a bad day), Akaashi will end up on Oikawa’s bed moaning about how stupid his boyfriend is while Oikawa nods and works on his maths. The core of their relationship is that they’re haters and they can complain for hours and they’re both good listeners so they don’t mind that the other talks without pause. Even in university Akaashi will call Tooru and go “this fucking bitch” and Oikawa will be nodding and going “mhmmm” along with Keiji while he makes whatever the fuck kind of smoothie bowl he’s been fascinated with this week.

This means that Akaashi is the bitchiest person ever in private and the most polite thing ever in public. No one understands how angel Akaashi hangs out with Oikawa so much because oikawas a feral devil. Then one day konoha catches a glimpse over akaashis shoulder and he’s typing out a paragraph about a girl who asked him for help with homework for the 15th time and what a dumb fucking bitch she is and konoha has never felt more on edge. How many times has Akaashi texted paragraphs about HIS behavior? Akaashi asks him what’s wrong in the politest voice and Konoha just shakes his head and says “nah don’t worry” and tries to clear his head.

The Akaashi Oikawa friendship starts when Akaashi is going through like 1000 emotions because his teacher yelled at him and his father ate his onigiri and practice was so loud today. But he can’t call Kenma because he KNOWS kenma is on a date with Kuroo and by the time he gets back he’ll be in a good mood and Akaashi is about negativity and hatred so he asks himself "who’s the biggest d1 hater I know?” so he digs through Bokutos phone and calls Oikawa and Oikawa picks up on the third ring And akaashi goes “Oikawa-san. Hello this is akaashi from Fukurodani” and Oikawa’s like “hey, what’s up?” Thinking this is rescheduling or captain business or whatever and akaashi goes “Oikawa-san you are the most hateful person I have ever met. The Sweetest Note-taker

“CRISPR or Cas9 is short for clustered, regularly, interspaced…”  

Akaashi quickly jots down what the professor says in his notes. Well they aren’t his notes. He looks over to his right. You are sitting with your head in your arms face down on the desk.

You had been complaining about your killer headache since last night. You told him that you had an important lecture the next day that you couldn't miss since the material would be on your next quiz. But you were having a challenging time focusing with your head throbbing.   

Akaashi being the kind and observant boyfriend he is, took matters into his own hands and decided to follow you to class. As you were taking your normal route the next morning you assume that he is dropping you off, so you do not think much about him tagging along, not until you approach the doors of your lecture hall and both steps inside.  

“Wait Keiji, what are you doing?” you ask sluggishly, feeling a dull pressure on your temples.  

“Isn't it obvious? I'm gonna join your lecture.” he states matter of factly 

“Uh, any particular reason?” you question, walking to your row.

“I thought it would be very informative, for me.” 

“But you're a journalist major-”  

“Let's take a seat.” He quickly interrupts. 

You slide into your desk a bit perplexed and pull out your notebook and pens, you look to the front and can tell you will have a tough time comprehending the material, you rub the sides of your head and the professor is about to start when your notebook and pens are snatched from you. You look over to your left. 

“Keiji what-” 

“Don’t worry (Y/N) I'll take your notes for you.” he says.

You are about to object when he puts a finger to his mouth and shushes you with a little smirk, turning to pay attention to the professor who was now speaking.   

You're gawking at him. You stay like that for a minute then smile. He is the sweetest person ever. You face forward in your desk and after a moment you put your head down and shut your eyes, faintly hearing your professor speak and Keiji furiously scribbling the material into your notes.

“Well, I can confidently say I did find your lecture informative, though I have a few questions about being able to edit the genes of a human being.” Akaashi says as he hands you back your notebook with 4 pages worth of lecture notes.  

You giggle at his comment and look down at his notes, various doodles and pen scribbles are seen throughout and you can see it’s his same handwriting from high school. You grab his shoulder for leverage and kiss his cheek.  

“Thank you for taking my notes Keiji you are the bestest boyfriend ever.” you say, already feeling your headache gradually ceasing.  

“Of course (Y/N) anytime.” He smiles 

“Though you may want to work on your handwriting.”  

“Don't you start.”
