okay i watched it and— HOLY SHIT????

first off—love the song. awesome song. i’m sure i’ve heard some AJR before because the singer sounded quite familiar

second—it didn’t completely fuck me over!! which is nice. something about the editing keeping the speech and the punchy style of the music meant i wasn’t like, tearing up i was just grinning at this master compilation of Softboi Anime Twink’s Top 10 Birdsona Moments (should i be concerned about how much i love him going entirely off the shits?) and the rest of the vox machinae being like ‘buddy this is what therapy is for’

i need to rewatch the season i’m only on episode four so far but i’m already loving it i love this utterly deranged man and this is an awesome video—from one aj to another, fabulous job!!

When did you get into Gravity Falls?

It was a while back in 2015, yeah pretty late in the fandom, but I caught up with all the episodes and it really hooked me then. I wish I had gone into the fandom sooner. 

What got you hooked on it?

The story, characters, how engaging it is with its secret codes for people to solve, and the humor. 

Do you write, make art, or create content for the fandom or just enjoy being a part of it but haven’t made anything yet?

Oh yes, I do write fanfiction, and helping out @sailormew4 with writing a multi-chapter one. 

Who’s your favorite character? 

I like many of the characters depicted in the show, but since I have to choose a favorite, it’d have to be Wendy Corduroy. Her chill attitude masking her 24/7 stress is relateble, along with her stellar capabilities when she isn’t acting lazy (love that part about her too). I wish she had been given more episodes to show more of her character and what she could add to the story. 

Most underrated character on the show?  

I believe Tate McGucket was more underrated, given he’s the son of a major character such as Fiddleford McGucket. From what I’ve read, it really did seem Tate would have had a bigger role in the story than what we got from him within the two episodes and him being in the background. I wanted to see how he felt when he learned what his dad had been doing all those years ago, and to understand how his dad became damaged from the memory gun, leading up to Tate reconciling with his dad to restore their strained relationship. I felt it was a missed opportunity with his character, especially in Society of the Blind Eye, that I hope to correct in fanfiction, at least to give me closure. 

What’s your favorite episode? 

The Land Before Swine. I’ve always known from the beginning that Stan isn’t entirely a jerk at all, but does show that he cares and feels hurt by what he did when he broke Mabel’s promise. And Soos admitting that he tends to screw up every now and then, having no ill intentions behind it. Plus dinosaurs. I’ve always loved dinosaurs.

What’s your least favorite episode? 

Carpet Diem. I’ve never been a fan of body-swap stories where characters swap bodies to learn a lesson, and hearing the voices coming from the other character. Just wouldn’t work in real life. I do know that Mabel and Dipper are kids who have yet to learn then, but it still irks me to how it went. 

What do you hope to see in the graphic novel? 

Answer the questions that have been around for a long time, such as if Shermie is either the elder or younger brother of Ford and Stan. What do Dipper and Mabel’s parents look like? Seeing Ford and Stan go on their sea adventures. Dipper and Mabel’s time back home since leaving Gravity Falls. How the townsfolk of Gravity Falls are getting by after all the events. And so on.

Favorite fan content? 

Fanart, fan fiction, memes, video edits, and other wholesome content.
