Ajab Si Adaayein
Yes, modern BhamaShyam OS 1 snippet is here! Enjoy!
*************
Aankhon mein teri, ajab si ajab si adaayein hai
Indeed there was something so stunningly graceful about his eyes, about his gaze. It was all penetrating, yet very gentle and questioning, as if needing her acceptance to just gaze. She blushed at the hope in his eyes, and prayed her answer got translated to him.
Dil ko banade jo patang saasein yeh teri woh hawaayein hai
He had gotten her acceptance, for his gaze was on her, unwavering, making her turn redder than the tomato that she loved eating often. She knew she too was staring, but she was not even able to stop herself.
There, in the middle of a typical Chennai traffic, as the vehicles moved inch by inch, Maadhavi had found the one who made her heart breath new lives, somehow.
Aankhon mein teri, ajab si ajab si adaayein hai
Maadhavi wondered what he was thinking, and when she got so shameless with staring at a guy. That thought alone pulled her back and she looked down shyly, though her eyes sprung back to the man in passenger seat, whose eyes had not moved an inch from her, clearly.

When Arijit said Chanda bhi deewana hai tera jalti hai tujhse saari chakoriya
When Rafi said Yeh Chaand sa Roshan chehra and Chaudhvin ka Chaand ho, ya aftaab ho
When KK said Chaand Teri roshni ka halka sa ek saaya hai
When SP Charan said Visukkune velade chandamamne nuvvunte Naa panentane
It has been proved time and again in Desi music that the most romantic thing is to compare your beloved with the moon!

Orchid, jasmine & palm tree? :p
Orchid : What's a song you consider perfect?
In English - Hozier, that's it, that's perfection
In Hindi - Ajab Si, from Om Shanti Om (2007)
Jasmine : do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
The Song of Achilles, Madeline Miller
I don't want to butcher my heart yet again😃
Plam Tree : do you have a fictional villain you shouldn't like but love regardless?
YES. They're not technically villains rather antagonists. Lorraine from Atomic Blonde, Estella from Cruella (2021). I'm nothing in front of evil, unhinged women, as if it's my fault.

Aayi aisi raat hai jo bohot khushnaseeb hai
Chahe jise dur se duniya vo mere kareeb hai
Kitna kuch kehna hai
Fir bhi hai dil mein hai sawal kahin
Sapno mein jo roz kaha hai
Vo fir se kahu ya nahi..

Lalapril Day 26
Musical
Ayi aisi raat hai jo bahut khushnaseeb hai, Chahe jise door se duniya, woh mere kareeb hai. Kitna kuch kehna hai phir bhi hai dil mein sawaal kahin... Sapnon mein jo roz kaha hai woh phir se kahoon, ya nahin? Ankhon mein teri, Ajab si ajab si adaayen hain. Hoo, Ankhon mein teri, Ajab si ajab si adaayen hain.
This night is very lucky. The one whom the whole world desires is close to me. I have so much to say and yet I question…. Should I voice what I’ve so often repeated in my heart? There’s something special in your eyes Oh, There’s something special in your eyes

Nainowale Ne (Sequel to Ajab Si Adaayein)
The entire OS is here, centered on the song Nainowale Ne from Padmavat.
*******
Nainowale ne
Maadhavi could not sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, his brown eyes, sparkling with the colours of life shone in her memory. She was entirely captivated, and she had not heard the man speak even once. Heck, she knew nothing about him, and yet... she could not ignore that pesky little feeling, which said that she actually knew everything about him.
Krishna, why this torment?
Nainowale ne, chera man ka pyaala
He had really disturbed her heart, which always thrummed for her Hari, which still did. Her love for Vishnu stayed a constant, and yet, being lost in the eyes of this mystery man did not feel wrong somehow... it felt as if Hari Himself had wanted it.
But why? Maadhavi could feel a pout form on her lips, and she sighed. How was she to ever understand her heart's mischievous plans?
chalkaayi madhushaala
She silenced her snickering mind at the thought of the poetry that was about to spill out loud from her traitorous mouth. The cup of her love had overflowed, it sang teasingly, and she did not want to be that affected. Her cheeks, however, betrayers that they were, turned a deep red at the very thought of his handsome face.
Her unknown stranger's luminous face, whose everything felt like her own.
mera chain rain nain apne saath le gaya
She got up and again fell on her bed, knocking herself on the head with her closed palm. She had gone insane, she felt, especially after seeing him. What was he thinking, taking everything away from her, including her thoughts, emotions and sanity? Who was he to invade her eyes at every turn?
nainowale ne, ahaa
nainowale ne
"Yes, I am well aware that it was his fault, you crazy mind of mine," she said out aloud, rubbing her cheeks when she felt them reddening even further. She closed her face with her hands, sighing at what she believed was unstable behaviour. What was happening to her, and why was she allowing it to happen?
'Who are you to control the flow of fate?' her heart chided, and she nodded. This was true, for fate was His choice. What He wanted, only that happened.
chera man ka pyaala
chalkaayi madhushaala
mera chain rain nain apne saath le gaya
She blew a raspberry on the open air and hid her face in the comfortable, fluffy pillow to her side and closed her eyes, willing herself to sleep.

pag pag dolo re... hooo
Maadhavi glared at her feet, which had tripped yet again, as she entered the book store. She had never been a klutz her whole life. She had always walked with firm steps, being a dancer from a young age. However, recently, ever since she had met him, she had become clumsy. She walked in a way that could be described as dance, and she could not change it. While the walking-like dance part came easy, she was yet to adjust entirely to the 'seeing him everywhere' aspect of her life, and thus, the combination caused her to spaz the way she had.
pag pag dolo re, dagmag si main chalti
Maadhavi took a breather at the historic fiction section, sighing. She was swaying in a way she never had before, all because she saw wood that resembled his eye colour. He had really stolen even her common sense, something she mourned a bit dramatically. Could she now walk normally?
She smiled to herself and simply moved one step as if dancing, and giggled quietly. She genuinely felt like she was taking swan-like steps, as Sita and Andal are especially described in Tamizh songs. Anna nadai was a real thing, she mused, turning to grab the book she had been eyeing.
hoon jag mag lau si jalti
tere naino ki kaisi madiraa
"You look so bright today, Dhavi," said Rekha, the middle aged woman who always rang the register in the bookstore. "Like a bright flame, in fact."
Maadhavi blushed, embarassed at the compliment. She could rarely hand compliments well, rather shrinking and hiding when they are given, turning varying shades of pink and red instead. She could not own a compliment, definitely not the way she could own deprecation, especially self-deprecation.
She knew her bright appearance was due to the addiction of his eyes. She had seen the Universe and beyond in them, and there is nothing she could do beyond constantly thinking of them and losing herself in them. Smiling quietly to herself, she shifted to the section on Sanatana Dharma, and froze.
har-thar kaanpoon re tere teer si chippti
Maadhavi had turned bright red, for he stood right opposite her, his eyes as bright as the flame she had been called. He gazed at her unblinking, after taking permission from her once again. Her heart melted, for this man had chosen to take permission from her for gazing at her, the second time as well.
'He will always,' her mind, which was usually much more pragmatic, said. It was clear that even her mind was in line with her heart's thoughts, and she felt the beat of the same thud through her body. She closed her eyes, as if to arrest his own within them, turning away partially due to the utter bashfulness that filled her.
chandan pe naag si lipti
She felt like she needed something to hold her, for the fire that suddenly burned between them was making her body sway. She wanted to lean against something, and let her body willingly burn in the fire that blazed between them. His gaze made her shutter in the best way possible, and she slowly raised her eyes to meet his, blushing yet again and smiling in reflex.
She quietly walked towards him, deciding to move past, when suddenly, something hit her legs and she lost balance.
Yet again.
Before she could right herself, she felt warm, slightly rough hands grab her to balance her. The touch was so familiar, that she did not even need to know who had done it.
She met his eyes again, her cheeks now a permanent red, thanks to him and his closeness and gentleness. His eyes met hers, and they held an apology for touching her without permission. She could feel herself telegraph that it was fine, he had protected her, and saw his face light up in the silent communication they had.
mein behosh tu nasha
aise moh ki dashaa
mera chain rain nain apne saath le gaya
"Hi! I am Shyam," he said softly, his voice the melody of the flute Maadhavi's heart sings in. She knew instantly that this was the blessing of her Krishna, of her Universe, in this form. Yet, suppressing the excitement which suddenly burst through Her, She responded.
"Hi Shyam. I am Maadhavi."
