"You were being groomed, abused, and bullied. Your parents knew all of it and gave you no empathy for your anger, in what world does that make you a monster?"

"You didn't know what else to do,"

Akira covered her face in her hands, sobbing silently as she tried to keep her composure, even just a little bit so she could look strong in front of the man she admired.

"I..."

"A child doesn't abuse their parents, that's not what happens,"

"You promise?"

"Promise,"

The rain patters down over the umbrella Aizawa was holding out for her, not caring that he got wet himself.

"I'm sorry I ran...I got scared..."

Aizawa shook his head, standing up and moving next to her after wiping her tears.

"It's okay, you're used to it. I'll make sure you don't have to run, I'll protect you from now on. I couldn't before, but I can now,"

She grasps his hand in her smaller one, and Aizawa smiles at the kid he now sees as his own.
