What’s Reader and their family do for Halloween? Has Hermit even spent a Halloween with his family yet?

Let’s talk about Hermit’s first Halloween with his family!!

- Hermit has a vague memory of dressing up and getting sweets as a kid, but it blurred together as he grew to survive.

- But now, living with You, Magnum, and Stan, he was curious on what this Halloween is. He first freaked out at the doorbell ringing and revealed little kids in scary costumes, he thought the house was under attacked until You showed up with candy and handed them out.

- He thought to keep the monsters out is to bribe them with candy so they go away, so he threw the candy out in the lawn and waited before Stan explained the holiday.

- Hermit then became excited at the idea, and the memory of dressing up came to him. He then asked if he could go with the others out to trick or treat, and Stan was delighted. (More memories the be kept in a photo, am I right?).

- You all dressed as the Heeler family from Bluey. Stan was Chili, Magnum and Bandit, Hermit was Bluey and You were Bingo (Hermit really wanted to be Bluey so you let him).

- Stan was crying of joy as he took so many pictures of you all as a family. Magnum put You and Hermit on his shoulders to scope out any houses with their lights on. Kids would be in awe and ask to be picked up as well, as the parents thought him being very tall was part of his costume. Stan was the one holding all the bags of candy they earn, as You were making sure nothing provokes Hermit.

- He almost shanked a dude in a Springtrap costume (it was Madpat lmao) until Magnum grabbed him and walked away. Eventually hitting the stroke of midnight, Hermit hangs out with the Matt egos at home, trading candy and telling scary stories. Stan and Magnum decided to turn in for the night as you were over at Mark’s house watching a movie marathon.

- He is a master at making up stories during his time at the island, so making a scary story is child’s play. It spooked everyone so much that even Madpat and Warfpat was slight unnerved.

- It spooked them so much they all screamed when you got back home and almost had a chainsaw flame thrower in the face.

- You and Hermit ate all the candy during the night, until you got discovered by Magnum, who also joined in on the feasting. Stan was not pleased when you all felt sick the next day.

Headcanon that whenever Magnum is home from an adventure, Hermit stays glued by his side and is pretty upset whenever he leaves again for another adventure.

Curious on your thoughts if it’s no trouble!

He’s like a dog waiting for their owner to return, at the window, looking around for any sign of him coming home.

Of course, he has his other dad, and You! So he’s not completely alone. But he knows the two of you is safe (if you accept you’re on earth and not in space), but Magnum always go off into the sea, to who-knows-where and kill who-knows-what.

His hypersensitive nose will pick up the scent of sea water and gun powder, and gets very excited, shouting that ‘Papa Magnum is home!! :D’, before running outside and tackling Magnum into a hug. The pirate laughs loudly and hugs back.

Stan is crying in the corner as he’s happy to see Hermit be so close with Magnum, and calling him papa. He also cries when Hermit tells him ‘When Papa Magnum is away, I still have you Papa Stan’.

You feel content to see Hermit finally warm up to his family, seeing him trust others again and knowing he won’t be alone anymore. And it’s nice to have a little brother to take care of.

Magnum loves you both, and he knows Hermit gets upset when he goes off to sea. So he writes letters to Hermit and mails it back home for Hermit to know that he’s still okay, and brings back so many gifts ranging from pretty shells to possible cursed items.

Needless to say, you’re family loves each other, and will very possibly kill for each other.

So god forbid anything bad happens to Magnum during a sea trip, poor Hermit, along with the family, won’t be able to take that news.
