Ahhh, so long as you're thinking about Rescue AU, can you give us a breakdown of how that initial 'Thoren rescues the twins' scenario goes? How does he convince them to come with him? Does he write a letter to Daemon ASAP, or does he travel with the kids in secret to avoid bad guys? Did he travel toward King's Landing or Dragonstone? If Dragonstone, did the boys meet Rhaenyra before Daemon? If KL, did they meet Viserys first? How did them being known as trueborns come about in this verse?

Aaaaaand how was Daemon and the kid's first meeting in this AU, since it wouldn't have been as, uh, people-lighting-themselves-on-fire! and dragons-disobeying-because-of-evil-candle-powers! charged as Resonant was.

Ah, this AU reminds me of how much I want somebody to stab Crayne. Preferably Rhaegar, honestly, or Jon, but Daemon or Thoren would do! 😂

I don't think there's much convincing to be done. It's effectively "listen here, I am taking you to your--uh, safety." With two adults (or one adult and one teen) carrying a child apiece on their horse, there's not a lot the twins can do. Two people can keep watch over the twins much more effectively than one (Crayne) to make sure they don't try to run off or steal the horses (which is difficult anyway, given that they'd need nature's equivalent of a mounting block due to their height).

From there, I think Thoren is in "trust no one" mode. Lady Arryn could very well be in on it, he might be pursued for taking the boys, etc. His advantage is that Allard has no clue what happened; he'll have to split his men between search parties of the woods, checking whether hill tribemen have taken them, and the various roads in the Vale of Arryn they might otherwise have been taken on.

So I think it basically goes: Thoren makes for the nearest harbor town he can get to in order to book passage to Dragonstone, willing to offer a hefty reward that he knows the royal family will be good for in order to ensure he can find a captain + ship ASAP, as he fears pursuit. Allard and Rhea are scouring the Vale as best they can, slowly bringing in what allies they can to the search. Rhea eventually sends a raven to Rhaenyra in KL in desperation, who then sends a raven to the Stepstones, and takes off with Laenor to assist Rhea in searching.

Before they arrive, Rhea has her riding accident searching for the boys and is taken back to Runestone. Rhaenyra and Laenor continue their search. Ser Thoren reaches Dragonstone but no one's home, so a raven is sent to Runestone and Rhaenyra races to fetch the boys and bring them to see Rhea before she dies.

Daemon arrives perhaps a day later, and pulls off his trueborn confession scene, which Rhea is amenable to after seeing how he rushed to their aid, and that the crown princess and her consort themselves came to join the search.

Which all points to a pretty emotional whirlwind for Jon and Rhaegar. They're going at a breakneck pace, not unlike when Crayne kidnapped them, arrive at Dragonstone to find it empty, then get picked up by Rhaenyra who tells them that their aunt is dying. And as they see her, Daemon storms in, nat20s his persuasion roll and the twins + Rhaenyra + Laenor are all present as she declares them her own sons.

Rhaenyra is watching in stunned silence because she understands the political implications/fallout, and also because she's thinking about the breathtaking cruelty of denying Daemon his children. Laenor is swept up in the emotion of it all. The twins are grappling with seeing the woman who just confessed she was their mother dying in front of them. And that's how they meet Daemon.

I do wonder if Rhaenyra convinces Rhea to officially pass Runestone to Jon, as at least some token of remorse from House Royce, because she knows it's gonna get ugly for both them and the Redforts.

So we might even get Jon being officially passed the title and then the procession of dragons returns to King's Landing, after picking up Ser Thoren who was left behind on Dragonstone.

(I suspect the twins are both wary/skeptical of Daemon, because they don't know him or what he wants with them, and may assume based on the histories that all he wants is Runestone. So there are probably several days of Daemon making overtures and growing increasingly heartbroken at their wariness. His hugs are tolerated rather than sought, their conversations polite but stilted, and he spends weeks slowly breaking down their barriers with lots of playtime with Rhaenyra's children, and going on trips with Laenor and Rhaenyra and the kiddos, letting them see him as human, in a parental capacity. The first time they hug him back, he has to choke back tears.)

(Ser Thoren stays on as a personal shield and is rewarded handsomely by Viserys. The twins had grown somewhat fond of him--maybe he protected them from bandits at some point?--and feel comfortable around him.)

Who gets to ultimately stab Crayne is the real payoff of Rescue AU, truly.

Another warm smile indicates that this was, again, the right thing to say.

“Well, thanks again, uh,” he looks at Buck’s name tag. “Evan.”

“Ah, everyone calls me Buck,” Buck tells him. 

“Eddie,” Edmundo - Eddie - says. “Thank you, Buck.”

Buck nods. “Any time.”

Eddie joins his son, and they come back a few minutes later with a considerable stack of books. 

“Is this too many?” Chris asks.

“Definitely not,” Buck smiles, before checking them out. 

As they leave, Buck finds himself looking forward to the next time they come back.

It takes longer than expected to see them again. And when he does, the circumstances aren’t fantastic. At least, not for Eddie.

Christopher’s books are more than a week overdue by the time Eddie and his son come back. It’s clear from the look on both their faces as they walk into the library, that Christopher has no idea and Eddie is all too aware. Before they even approach the desk, Eddie whispers something to Christopher, who then heads off for the stacks. Buck gets the feeling Eddie is expecting an awkward conversation, and doesn’t want his son to overhear.

And Buck gets it. It’s sort of not a great first impression, as far as librarian-patron relationships go. What Eddie doesn’t realize, though, is that Buck doesn’t make it a habit to judge when someone returns their books. He sort of hates overdue fines, as a rule. People have all sorts of things going on, and creating a barrier to literacy doesn’t seem constructive. Buck was never going to give him a hard time.

Regardless, Eddie seems frazzled. Like, maybe there is something more than the books bothering him. There’s a tired expression in his eyes that indicates more than a lack of sleep.

“Hi, Eddie,” Buck smiles at him as Eddie approaches the front desk with Christopher’s stack of books in hand. “How are things?”

“Okay,” Eddie sighs. “First, I’m impressed that you remember my name. Second, I know. Okay? I know this looks terrible. I am so sorry.”

“What looks terrible?” Buck asks. He wants to act like it’s really nothing of note. 

“The books are nine days overdue,” Eddie says. “I get it. Bad precedent when it’s our first time borrowing.”

“Oh, hey. It happens…”

“No! Look, I’m not a guy to make excuses. Really. But I’m working twenty-four hour shifts for the first time, and my Abuela usually watches him, but she broke her hip, and it’s just me, and…”

He seems one sentence away from cracking. 

“Eddie,” Buck says, firmly but kindly. “It’s really not a big deal. I’m going to waive the fines, okay?”

“What? No, I can afford it,” Eddie looks momentarily affronted. “It’s not that, okay!”

“Whoa, no. That’s not what I mean!” Buck assures him. “I mean, I get it. Shit happens. I don’t agree with fines anyway. I’ll waive them and call it an error in the system, between you and I.”

“Oh,” Eddie deflates a little. “I… Uh, thank you. Are you supposed to curse?”

“No,” Buck says. “Or waive fines.”

That gets a small little snort of laughter out of Eddie.

“Are you going to get in trouble?” Eddie asks.

“For cursing?” Buck is purposely obtuse. 

Eddie rolls his eyes. “For waiving the fines.”

Buck shakes his head. “Nope. My supervisor is a Marxist. I’m fond of her.”

Eddie takes a deep, steadying breath. “Okay. Thank you, man. I really appreciate you being so nice.”

“It’s all good,” Buck assures him. “You’re having trouble finding childcare?”

Eddie nods. “It’s not as simple as sticking him in daycare, you know? He has different needs than the other kids. And I have benefits. A good job, and I’m ex-military. But sorting through everything… God, you don’t need to hear this. This really isn’t like me, I swear.”

Oh, he’s not the first parent to unload on Buck. Maybe it’s that Buck is friendly. Maybe it’s that he’s good with the kids. Maybe it’s that he’s entirely removed from their lives and in an occupation associated with being quiet. He’s not actually very quiet, as far as personalities go. Regardless, people end up trusting Buck with their woes. He doesn’t mind it. He likes feeling helpful. Even if, usually, he’s not. 

Today, though… He might be?

Buck reaches into a desk drawer and pulls out a flier. Then he grabs a pen and begins writing on it. 

“Here,” Buck slides him the flier.

“Uh, what’s this?” Eddie asks. 

“A list of afterschool and weekend programs we run with city funding,” Buck explains. “Plus the number of someone who might be able to help you.”

“Someone?”

“Her name is Carla,” Buck says. “She was very helpful when my ex was having trouble caring for her sick mother. She’s organized and she knows her stuff.”

Eddie nods, reading over the page. “This is really kind. Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it,” Buck shrugs. “Well, maybe mention the referral to Carla. It’s been too long since she brought me any baked goods.”

Eddie smiles. “Alright. Brownie referral fee?”

“Even better - lemon squares.” 

“I do really appreciate it though,” Eddie says. 

Buck can tell. That’s why he’s happy to do it.

 But he’s blushing.Trying to muffle a smile with a large bite of kale salad. Like he liked that. Interesting. Was it the touch or was it being cared for? Buck’s brain collects all the available data like a computer scanner. How can he replicate it? How can he make the reaction stronger?

So it gets worse.

After dinner, he experiments. 

They’re about to sit down and watch a game and Buck tries it again. He rests a hand over the bear skin of Eddie’s forearm and says:

“You look a little chilly. Can I grab you a sweater?”

The AC in the building is sort of intense, and Eddie’s arms are dotted with goosebumps.

Eddie looks at Buck’s hand on his arm.

“I can walk up the stairs and grab one,” Eddie mumbles, cheeks reddening again.

“Don’t worry,” Buck says. “I can.”

“Buck,” Eddie protests, his hand on the opposite arm to the one Buck is touching raises to cover Buck’s. “I’m okay. I’ll grab my own sweater.”

But his hand lingers on top of Buck’s for a second before he goes. So that’s it, then. Not being cared for, which was what Buck thought. The touch. Interesting. Is he feeling lonely and touch starved, maybe? Since his break up with Marisol and Chris leaving?

Well, hey. They’re pretty comfortable with each other. If Buck can help, he will. He’ll just be touchier than usual with Eddie. But not, like, to a point where lines are crossed. He does have a boyfriend, after all.

When Eddie comes back down, wearing an old, beige-colored high-necked zip up that Buck doesn’t think he’s seen before, Buck once again does another impulsive thing he doesn’t really intend on. He compliments him.

“That looks great on you, Eddie.”

Eddie stops, and looks down at himself. 

“This?”

“Yeah!” Buck says, realizing that’s not the kind of thing he says a lot. Despite thinking about it semi-frequently. “It’s a good… Uh, shade. And, uh, neckline?”

“It’s kind of old,” Eddie says. “From my Dad’s golf club. I, uh, I cleaned out my closet entirely and found it in the back. So…”

“It’s nice,” Buck nods. “You should wear it more.”

And then it happens. The blush. The smile. So subtle, yet Buck notices. 

Okay. He gets it now. Buck understands. Eddie just needs to feel good about himself. The gentle touches. The compliments. Hell, even being cared for to an extent. Eddie has been through the fucking wringer lately, and if he needs some comfort? A little gentleness? Of course Buck can provide. 

“Thank you, Buck,” Eddie mumbles. 

“‘Course,” Buck replies easily. He pats the empty seat of his comfiest armchair, reserving the less comfortable one for himself. “Come on. Game’s about to start.”

The boundary is torn away like this.

A few more small compliments from Buck. 

“You were so smooth on that rope rescue today, Eddie. Kind of looked like an action star.”

“Your hair looks good this length, I think. Were you thinking of longer? That would look good, too.”

“You always call the plays before they happen. That’s impressive as hell, man.”

He focuses on that. Never brings up the elephant in the room of what today is. 

Then there are more little touches. Peppered into regular activities. Clapping his shoulder while handing him another beer. Poking his side when making a joke. Anything to make the contact that clearly Eddie is responding to. 

And it works. It works, it works, it works. Because Eddie stops staring miserably at his phone. He stops waiting for a call that isn’t coming. He stops sitting in his guilt and self-loathing and starts actually being present. 

By the end of the sixth inning, they’re sitting on the floor, side by side, shoulders touching. Buck’s not sure how they got here or who initiated, but it happened. And Eddie is smiling. Eddie is smiling, so what else really matters?

Seren's Studies: Odd Squad UK -- "Odd Way 'Round" Episode Followup, Part 1

I am choosing to put an apostrophe in that title because the English perfectionist in me will get a rash on the ear if I don't stop scratching.

Welcome to the "Odd Way Round", where we will get more lore in the form of the Odd Squad Test Center that...exists...but hey, we get to meet new villains, which is neato. Below the break!

Your writer for this episode, who has a small resume of shows on her plate that...don't really look like kids shows. At best, it looks like a lot of older-kid stuff.

She has experience, is my point. Raising the bar just a teeny bit higher for this one.

And two of the characters in this scene are children who would probably love this and think it's cute.

Ahhh yes. The "person fakes an odd problem to get Odd Squad to come" call. Happens in (nearly) every season.

So you...socialize with the employees of a pseudo-government organization? Who are children?

Surely in this day and age there are still listings for, say, library clubs or meetups where you can meet people, even in Britain, no? You pair up with these kids and you'll be getting a lot of "what lovely children you raised" followed by "they're...not my kids".

The Rabbit Society should be led by Bugs Bunny, but it isn't, and that's what makes me upset.

It's funny because agents enjoying juice boxes is a rare si- oh. These aren't Shmumber juice boxes so they're non-alcoholic, huh? So Orli's not gonna stumble through town drunk?

Okay. Headcanon accepted.

Hey, remember when "License to Science", being the metaphorical episode it was, had the very-scared Oona take the Odd Squad equivalent of a DMV test?

You remember when "Can You Wrangle It?", being the non-metaphorical episode it was, had the not-so-scared Orla and Oswald taking the test and becoming Ghostbusters for 11 minutes?

This is fucking neither of those. But quite frankly, I'm worried about a little too much element-borrowing. For example, Orli's the opposite of Oona here.

Look, at least Orla's riddle question actually made some sense for her character.

Now, asking how her name should be spelled...that would be better.

But...but the entire fucking point of her coming to the UK precinct was to boost their numbers...and now they're introducing something where they potentially lose a member? The very same member that helped them out tremendously?

"A relaxing walks helps to clear my mind and focus. Also, we have 11 minutes to spend, and we need a plot to spice things up!"

So would the excuse "villains tried to stop me from getting there" be an equivalent to "a dog ate my homework"?

You knew it had to be referenced. I knew it had to be referenced. It was just a matter of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The first shoe, of course, dropped back in the Season 2 premiere, and has aged like a fine wine even the Crane brothers would be apt to try.

The plot of "License to Science" and "Can You Wrangle It?"...that is heavily subverted in favor of reusing the plot that episodes like "Trials and Tubulations" and "Robert Plant" executed well.

And before you ask me if this episode will exceed the perfection of those two episodes...lol no git gud. Chances are high Niki's never even seen either, let alone the show itself.

At least we know Rappit's Rapide's thing is speed and he wears blue and has goggles to reflect that. Funny how we get a bootleg MLP unicorn last episode and this episode has this woman using the power that some MLP unicorns have to conjure up things randomly.

It's like it's a more fantastical version of the hammerspace spines!

first of all, your favourite character turned out to be a traitor ??? there probably are other things i could begin with, but i genuinely didn’t expect that. i have yet to understand why the ghost believes balekin could help him fulfill his duties towards dain better than cardan and jude when balekin not only threatened dain while he was alive but also quite literally murdered him 💀 also, justice for heather— i know that deep down vivi means well but holly black does a good job at portraying how different the faerie psyche differs from the mortal one, thus making a romantic relationship between the two extremely difficult. ultimately, it’s clear that one of the two has a greater price to pay and it’s often the mortal who does so. it’s like how madoc and eva’s relationship ended in tragedy and watching vivi and heather’s relationship evolve (and deteriorate) in real time makes jude realise that this could be her future if she allows herself to love cardan. oh and, speaking of cardan… i have seen what that tail can do. not exactly my thing but i do see the vision lol i’d kind of started warming up to him but what the fuck was that ending ?? all that for fucking BALEKIN whom everyone hates ??? and i swear everyone collectively hated valerian so much that no one batted an eyelash when he died at the hands of mortal jude although he literally was a regent kid of faerie. i won’t start questioning cardan’s whims because he’s technically a medieval king and medieval kings are just Like That™, but my guess is that he’s exiling jude not to punish her but because he believes it’s the best way to protect her…? especially now that there’s chaos with the undersea and lord roiben’s court of termites (or has that storyline been solved already?) also, the isle of ash he just casually created at the end? 💀 ok edge lord

either way, i love how the author shows that dain’s geas on jude is not only a boon but also a bane— it’s part of human nature to seek beautiful lies and escapism in the face of suffering, and the fey clearly know it’s something they can exploit. but i find that there’s a little more comfort in knowing what is being done to you rather than learning about it in retrospect. and taryn……. yeah. on one hand, i don’t want to be a hypocrite. jude manipulates and deceives for the sake of her own interests, so there’s no reason why taryn can’t indulge in those dangerous games as well. however, i am THE reader so ofc i’m rooting for the fmc !!! get out of the way taryn !! it’s so fascinating to see how jude comes to resemble madoc more and more as the story progresses. the mixture of pride and contempt one for the other. you’re so right about how interesting how their dynamics are. and the whole “you can be happy and successful but not happier and more successful than i am” thing madoc and taryn have with jude. it’s so real. you can love your family endlessly and still envy them for receiving the affection you never got and realising the dreams you never did.

Do they not understand that how you act on your social media or outside of your work doesn’t mean that’s how you act when you’re doing your job???? Like my blog is full of comments abt my fictional men 🥴🥴🥴 but do I act like that at work?? No. Do I act like that around kids (namely my little brother bcs he’s fr the only kid I interact with) no. So like it doesn’t make sense to me

I dropped everything to answer this because I love to speak on this topic, despite it being frustrating. But ahhh thank you for enjoying my reply lol!

A lot of people (and I say a lot because it truly is, I have at least 4 parents every year that think similarly to this) think that social media IS REAL. The whole "what you see is what you get" thought process really rings true for a lot of people and it is genuinely concerning. With that though, a lot of people ALSO think how you act OUTSIDE of work describes who you are as a worker as well which is SO STUPID!

I mean, I get it, I am teaching children at the end of the day. I understand there are some things I shouldn't post on a PUBLIC platform with my name attached to it (and I don't) because my students may see it. That being said though, everything I do post that's even a little risqué, especially anything thirst related to fictional characters, is under LOCK AND KEY and completely under a different name (see "nectardaddy" with the pseudonym dodger lol).

As for the kinds of people you brought up, you are 100000000% correct. In my four years of teaching, the parents (and I bring up parents a lot bc they are the adults here, children genuinely don't care and are 9/10 beyond kind and accepting) that give me the most grief about MY behavior think like this. I have tattoos (lots of them), I have many piercings, I have a blue mullet for christ sake lol and there is always someone (an adult parent) who COMPLAINS ABOUT IT??? I have had calls to my principle before that a parent SAW ME AT A BAR AFTER SCHOOL. AFTER SCHOOL!!! Apparently I'm not allowed to do that?? Because apparently to them it was "inappropriate to do that because I'm a teacher." Thank god I have a good principle, she laughed right in that woman's face.

I've also had nasty, heinous comments about my preferences (which isn't any of their business #1 and doesn't pertain to school AT ALL #2) and disgusting assumptions made about me, my past, my husband, and who I am as a person BY ADULTS all because I didn't let little timmy talk to his friend while I was trying to teach him math. (But then when he fails math because I let him talk that's my fault too.) I truly think this mindset comes from simple entitlement and need for control, amongst some other things but I'm not one to delve into politics too hard here.

But, it warms my heart to know that a lot of people, including yourself, think I'm a good teacher! At the end of the day though, I do this (teaching) for THEM. I wouldn't want to sit there for 7 seven hours either so we don't! We go outside, move around, work in groups, we talk to our friends, we're loud, WE'RE LEARNING! I think the worst thing a teacher can do is treat students less than, because they are, although small, HUMAN! As well as many other things, it's my job to teach them HOW to human! How to express emotions healthily, show compassion, learn empathy, know one's self worth, and know that failing isn't an end - it's a step forward in the right direction.

So bakery anon, I want you to know, from a teacher that would've loved to have you in class, YOU ARE WORTHY. YOU ARE AMAZING. YOU ARE SO GREAT. 🍓 - I must credit @acourtofladydeath and her fic All Things End for bringing me to fanfiction in the first place. I read that fic multiple times before I was able to read anything else. This is not fanfiction it is life changing and that is simply a fact.

Quickly fell into the rabbit hole of Azris on ao3 and came across @the-moth-writes Heaven Help The Fool Who Falls in Love and I simply could not get it out of my head and had commented “oh it would be so fun if you …..” and it wasn’t till I was reading @futurehunt A Court of Shadows and Ash and I finally made an account so I could properly comment and interact and I was still stuck on the story idea I had, so I reached out to @the-moth-writes and asked if I could continue her story to which she graciously said yes.

Once I started writing I just couldn’t stop. I was always a big reader and writer growing up and was intending to major in English in college but I had a terrible professor when I was in a college class duel enrolled as a high school student and they absolutely tore my writing apart and I instead got a degree in Religious Studies and BSN. I have not written anything for fun until now and I am so sad that I did not start sooner but I am so happy to be writing again.

🌵 - so all of the playlists that I listen to are self made on my personal Spotify so I don’t want to share those but I will say my 4yo is obsessed with @chunkypossum playlist for Between Us. The amount of dance shows I have watched to this playlist at this point are innumerable.

We now have a little story about what happens to all the stars of unanswered wishes = Unanswered Stars

🌸 - I do not have any currently but we had many cats and dogs growing up. Truth be told I actually do not like pets. I know I know please don’t burn me. I’m allergic to dogs and cats, they both cause my chronic migraines to flare up. I also killed my two pet fish I owned growing up. Both accidentally. One because I over fed it and the other because we went on vacation and I forget to have someone feed it so it starved…

I just keep thinking about the reveal and how things might be from now on kjghdfkhlj

Like, ahhh, just the getting used to the new normal now that the cat's out of the bag ( or the demon out of the animatronic? XD) First of all there's probably gonna be a talk (if more pressing matters don't arise dfksjgjh) Y/n understandably wants so many answers and I just keep wondering what they will ask first. They still seem very unsure on what to believe, even if they seem more used to the idea that their friend really is a demon. There's of course gonna be that bit about who the boys have killed, but also I see them questioning every part of the last months. The hunter seems to have started accepting the idea that Eclipse really does want to stay with them, but also it wouldn't be strange for doubts (spurred by their previous experience with a demon, and the recent encounter with Shoh) to keep coming back and maybe they'll wonder once in a while when the demon will get tired of them and kill them after all.

I wonder if they will look back to everything they have done and ask themselves what parts of it where a lie. They do not really know or trust that Sun and Moon never lied to them, since their whole stay with them has been revealed to have been less than honest (by omission), so I just think about all those doubts, and things that might make them question their relationship. Were they really with kids when the doppleganger attacked the first night, or where they hunting someone? Did the hunter ever put someone in danger by bringing them along? Did they know the danger they were putting them in by hiding the detector? When they decided to follow, were they planning at the start to just leave one day without warning after satiating their curiosity about the human in the forest?

But also I see the doubts becoming even more intense when directed at themselves. Maybe after the initial shock of this turn of events they will berate themselves harshly for missing this. They will throw out all the reasons they had for not seeing it and look at all the signs they dismissed. Lambert clocked them as a demon in like half a day with just 2 signs. They were traveling together for months. They knew what the detector said. Y/n knew what their instincts about the supernatural felt like and they ignored it. Every chill, every feeling of being watched. The refusal to answer any questions about their past as daycare bots, because they didn't have one.

And while I know all the boys felt was relief when they weren't discovered, I can only imagine that y/n might wonder if they were judging them (like they judge themselves now). What it must have looked like from the perspective of a powerful presence like a demon to go unnoticed by a so-called hunter. Fearing that it was amusing in their eyes that they defended the boys from all strangers that claimed they were unsettling, or when they were acting apologetic for pushing about their "traumatizing" experience with the pizza plex, or feeling foolish for trying to comfort them when the only one truly in danger and afraid (for their own life at least) was y/n. I can totally see them exchanging the "I'm not enough for them to feel safe and trust me" thoughts for something like "I am a blind idiot and was making a fool out of myself all this time" .

(Not that the boys would think any of the above, but y/n has a bad habit of swallowing their insecurities so they might need to coax those out of them in order to stop them from keeping that mentality)

And ooh, I'm so curious about how the dynamic is gonna move from here. Because now to the hunter, this must feel incredibly out of their hands. Before it was Sun and Moon, the double AI animatronic that had been lost in the forest after a tragic fire took their home away. They are smart, and strong and have some unique abilities due to their robotic nature, but they still were alone and y/n could relate to them on some level. Sure they were physically stronger and experts at taking care of others, but y/n must have felt on equal ground with them because they offered a home and company and care in return as well. A weird new relationship but one that could be based on mututal care and both parties bringing their own strengths to it.

To the hunter now it must feel so unbalanced.

They're still afraid of Eclipse on some level, which will take time to work through. Again the "there's no point in running" line! Even if they didn't feel like running, it's about feeling like they suddenly have so little power in all of this. Not like they ever felt like or even wanted to be someone that Sun and Moon considered their superior or anything, but the boys did make it clear that they would follow their lead. Follow in their hunts, and get used to their routine. It was always "so what are we doing next" and y/n would have the answer. Now they are faced with the fact that this demon can do whatever he damn well pleases. They say they won't but they could just kill them, They could just posses them. They could just take them anywhere they wanted. They have nearly no instruments to fight back and what they do have they wouldn't be able to do that much with by themselves. There might be a feeling of being incredibly small and that suddenly they don't have that much say in anything that is happening.

But ahhh this all just speculation of our dear hunter's inner future turmoil about how things are going XD I can't help but wanting to think about all the deepest and darkest fears and thoughts because I do love wondering about the angst kjdfhgñ

Of course, there's a whole episode left, and that might mean that a lot of these get pushed for later or maybe even a lot of these worries won't be able to arise before they will be proven wrong to the hunter by future events yet to come! Very excited to see what happens next!

(Obviously I don't expect confirmation of anything because spoilers haha, but thought you might find it interesting if I dumped all these thoughts here kdfjhgsñh)

What Joe needs is a support group. I know he's in other episodes, and the entire point of this show is that people live Ordinary Lives, but just knowing how bad he's struggling, it seems cruel to me. Real in a way I want media to clean up nicely with a bow. He's reaching a new low in his life, and fuck! If yall tell me other episodes have more prominent Joe scenes, I will absolutely watch it.

Yes, I've seen "Let me buy you a drink! Tier Five Friday, whoo whoo?" and a few other clips of Joe and Joel Fry's character. AND ITS SAD, regardless of how funny it is. I'm so fucking weak for this depressed man.

It just hurts cause I know he can work to be happier.

I know my 'as I watch' summary seems disjointed but my original one without editing was too long for Tumblr. It included me just fucking hitting my keyboard. LOTS OF FUCCKKKKKS. For Joe's final thoughts, who's better to give final words than Con himself?

Characters besides Con: 9/10. A few small things bugged me. But eh. They are people as Joe sees them. I'm sure if I watched other episodes these people would be more fleshed out.

Story 9/10: I love that this was a mystery drama in the truest sense of the word. We were meant to solve things along with Joe until the rug was pulled from under us. WE WERE THE OBSERVING EYES BUT WE WEREN'T ALL-KNOWING. The audience wasn't God. We went from thinking he was weird to even considering this, but Jesus. He caught his son doing one of the fucking worst things he could have possibly done.

Again, I know fuck ups exist in every goddamn family. But the son is old enough to have been aware of what happened to his sister when it happened. The son knew exactly what happened to his sister and still did what he did. Again, it's real, but it just feels like so much shit stacked on top of Joe's shoulders at the last fucking second to make him break. I feel for the Mom and Daughter but they were kind of side stories here we barely got to see.

Everything unravels from the audience at first thinking Joe is weird, to OH MY GOD?!??!?! Is a delight. If a mystery is served to us like this, I will eat it the fuck up.

Overall: 10/10. I fucking love this hour of television. We got so many scenes of Joe just slightly breaking down as everyone around him wouldn't just be honest with him. He had to break down in the last ten minutes, and we the audience had no clue just how shitty the situation was. If you want me to watch more, don't be afraid to fully spoil the cool stuff down below. If I didn't care more about keeping a 'scale' this would be a 11/10+.

Again, everyone in S is essentially interchangeable.

I've started working at a supermarket and as mentioned above, I am waiting for my uniform, learning the ropes in a new environment and working in a new team where they all know each other is just a lot.

I actually want to work in law and the supermarket job is an in-between until I find something (it is brutal out on the job market). After every shift I immediately apply to more jobs, not because the supermarket is a horrible place, quite the opposite, the people are lovely and the role is fine. It's just not where I want to be.

I have been volunteering at a local charity and have been recommended to apply for a paid position helping people with their debts on behalf of a bank. So I am hoping to hear back about that next week and if I get it, I will be working there part-time.

So I will have gone from no jobs to two! I am planning for the future already and might leave the supermarket job within my probation time since I need time to apply for law roles.

He was sore and overtired after trying to find places to camp each night. I got a hotel room for us so he could stay somewhere comfortable at least for the night. He was so greatful and he held me all night, it was so nice not to be alone. The next morning we had breakfast at Waffle House. I took a photo of my meal and posted it to Instagram. Some girl was harassing Matthew via text message, so it was awkward. I didn't eat much at all, but that was the plan.

We parted ways and he swore he wouldn't ghost me again. I looked forward to hearing from him but I never did. Naturally I was depressed the rest of the week.

I was doing really well staying no-contact with my ex. He kept trying to "check in" on me. He was asking questions about why I was at a hotel, how was breakfast with Jeff, etc. He naturally assumes I was with Jeff for whatever reason, even though he lives on the opposite side of the country.

He finally went absolutely ballistic, demanding to know when I'd do a pregnancy test in front of him. I caved and responded, telling him it was really up to him, because I understood how he was always "busy." He ranted and raved about how I'm the one who is always busy, talking to other guys, blah blah blah. It was such garbage nonsense, he just projects all his bad behaviors onto me. He needs to get off the drugs and sober up, but I know he never will.

On Friday I hung out with the husband of the girl he cheated on me with. We went out for drinks. 2 drinks in I was extremely drunk, but drove home anyway. I'm not at all attracted to this guy, but he's been so mistreated I thought I could at least keep him company.

Saturday afternoon he took me to lunch. I hate being forced to have food on a "date." We got sushi and I'll admit it was heavenly.

Toward the end, I received a random message from an unknown account. It was a bunch of photos. I assumed it must have been some rando from tinder, sending unsolicited dick pics, but I opened the first one anyway. It was a photo of one of the pages from my journal that Ryan had torn out. So were all the others. "I found these under his couch."

"Who the hell is this??"

It was the girl he cheated on me with. She wanted to meet me for coffee. She said Ryan would be dropping her off at Target to "exchange" kids with her husband. Ahhh, so that's why he had been in town to get lunch with me.

I waited in the Target coffee shop and saw her nervously peek around the corner at me. She came over and sat down, avoiding eye contact. She was all twitchy and making jerky movements, obviously high on meth.

She told me about how Ryan is so paranoid and always trying to start shit, which she wouldn't put up with. I stared at her blankly. Her torso was boxy and square shaped, with twiggy arms and legs sticking out. She had pockmarks all over her face, crooked eyeliner, thinning hair pulled up in a tangled, messy bun. She looked like she hadn't showered in a week. This is the girl that Ryan chose over me. I felt defeated.

"He has narcissistic personality disorder. He ruined me, changed me. I don't even know who I am anymore," I told her.

She went on about how she did love him, he had his issues but he was exciting to be around. She said he made her happy. I knew none of it was true. You don't love someone after knowing them for less than a month. She was just seeing the mask he presents to the world, but I knew it was slipping more and more. He was losing his touch. He kept it in place for at least a year when I was with him.

Then she tried to put on the facade that she was in control, he was just a pet on a leash to her. I saw through it immediately.

"You'll stay with him. You make it seem like you could leave at any moment, but I can see you're weak for him."

She seemed taken aback.

"He's like an addiction," I continued, "he's like a drug."

I told her to stop talking shit about me, she doesn't know me, all she knows is the lies Ryan has told her about me.

"He said you two were already broken up, but that you just kept showing up at his house."

"Yes, I kept showing up at his house, because I was his girlfriend! He'd spam me with messages asking when would I be off work, when was I coming over! He LIES. And so do you."

I got up to leave. She became flustered and tried to stop me.

"I don't need this shit," I muttered, and walked out the door.

I saw Ryan in his car, parked across from mine. Obviously he now knew I had been there, since my bumper sticker is pretty recognizable. His head was turned down, likely furiously texting her. I drove off and leaned on the horn as I passed, but he didn't look up.

Matthew finally contacted me tonight. After the bullshit of this week I was so relieved to hear from him. All I want is to be with him but he's a wreck and won't let me help. I feel like he doesn't care for me at all. He probably doesn't. He was my lifeline, and now that's been cut.

I am so god damn miserable and alone.

River city girls is a simple beat em up adventure game where you fight through town doin little quests on your way through the main one. Real fun easy controls & the soundtrack is real good. Please do id love to hear your exploits. Yeah i have work a lot & so does she plus her kids so i dont talk to mine much either. Im getting to the point in star rail where i am catching up like genshin so ill probably log in less on that too unless more story happens or an event catches my eye. After next planet story anyways. Im not far enough in simulated universe to do swarm disaster sadly. Just gotta. Level them characters as usual. Ps5 star rail gave me gepard which he's good but like. I want bronya

ANYWAY ABOUT THE EVENT uhhh you Might recall that i went to like a. con-adjacent thing last year. its actually just mainly for buying merch but a Lot of people go in cosplays. anyway i went this year as well and got a bunch of prints [of focalors, fischl, signora, silver wolf, kafka, and miku], and some other stuff [charms of himeko starrail, silver wolf, and kafka, as well as bronya honkaiimpact3rd and kafka pins]. and a very cute choker. so YEAH for the sheer amount of stuff i got id say its a very good price but i still feel bad ab spending so much money in one go sjdkgkgjh
