you’re 100% correct- persephone thrives in being a mother.

- she’s the one their friends call for parenting advice/problems. once, a hysterical vipsania called her sobbing because her baby just would not calm down. pippa was over within 20 minutes and spent the night trying to sooth the crying baby so vipsania could get some rest.

- their friends kids love going to the price-creed house. not only does persephone dote on all the kids- festus is always down to be the fun parent and play whatever games the kids are playing with them.

- i’ve said it before, but she sees mizzen in her sons. she doesn’t directly tell them about mizzen in fear of them mentioning it to the wrong person- but she does teach all them about marine life and tell them exciting stories of a red-headed sea captain and her little side kick in a sweater vest.

i think after her experiences, she’d be a little more protective of her children.

- absolutely no snakes around. ever. if one of their friends houses has a pet snake- nope, they can come here but you can go there. and forget about the reptile enclosure at the zoo.

- she’s like. the pta mom. she’s super involved in her kids school and is the one organizing fundraisers and stuff.

- she tried to hide her snake scales from her children for the longest time. one day, her daughter finally came in at the wrong moment and saw. she excitedly exclaimed that they were the most beautiful thing in the whole world and asked when she would get hers.

- always down to get dirty and have fun. all the kids love her because she plays sports with them. once, her and festus made a bet about who would make a better coach. they both signed up to coach little league and in the end, neither of them won the tournament- somehow dennis fling coached the winning team. their friends still bring it up to make fun of them- how do you lose to the guy who tried out for sports every single year and got rejected every. single. year.

- vipsania has to remind herself not to put too much pressure on her kids. growing up as a sickle, it was drove into her that she always had to be the best and that she always had to win. she doesn’t want to push that onto her children and praises them even if they don’t win or didn’t get the best score (but she has to admit those participation trophies in their house make her cringe.)

I think it’s pretty obvious that there’s a lot of people on here that don’t like Pecco (me being one of them) and at first for me it was cause I thought he was massively overhyped and something was off, but there are bigger reasons.

The first one is that he’s made some kind of borderline but misogynistic comments in the past, the main one I can recall was comparing his bike to a girl on her period because it was being temperamental. I believe there were other kinds of comments like this made by him and Jack Miller but this was when I was very new to the sport so I can’t properly remember back to 2020.

He was also charged with drink driving back in 2022 during the summer break. He was 3x over the legal limit and he basically excused it by saying he was celebrating his win from Assen. The apology he posted was absolutely terrible, a complete non-apology tbh, and the way that Ducati dealt with it was by not allowing the media to ask questions, and his ex-teammate (Miller again) would berate journalists before they even got a chance to ask.

There was also the Dennis Rodman helmet saga. Basically in Misano (2022?), one of his home races, he dedicated a helmet to the former basketball player. Rodman was at his peak before Pecco was even alive so it was weird anyway but even more so when you look into Dennis Rodman. The guy has had several lawsuits for SA, drink driving and domestic violence, and also one for a hit and run. He also supports Donald Trump, and during his presidency, he was sent to North Korea to “negotiate” deals for prisoners and became besties with Kim Jong Un. It just feels very weird to do a tribute helmet to this guy, who stopped playing in the NBA when Bagnaia was 3, especially a few months after he was also done for drink driving.

There’s also his general attitude that a lot of people personally don’t like. For me we reached the point of no return when he said he wanted satellite bikes to be slower when the title fight was between himself, Martin and Bezzecchi around this time last year. Apparently it was out of context but still another massive own goal.

I can’t quite remember if there’s more with Bagnaia but these are the main things that come to mind, combined with the fact he takes zero responsibility for any of these actions (and Ducati don’t let him either). It’s actually shocked me that there’s someone more dislikable than Pecco but Jorge has done it with ease.

thank you for reminding me op i forgor to post it on tumblr but it is done! it is done. it was hell on earth to navigate fuckass premiere pro (used it because i had a month's subscription left with the college) and i would strongly recommend setting the volume low and then raising it as opposed to starting loud but between the ungodly, confused, and miserable amount of audio editing and the subtitles i think the dialogue And the taiko drums are more or less both audible now

it's still crazy to think that we pulled this off, three months later. i'm very proud of it. credits to my dancers as well as everyone else who helped make this possible are in the video description

ah sorry!! i wanted to be able to sit down and enjoy rambling about these bc i especially love my girlies <3

vipsania, livia, persephone, and arachne

→ the girls all became friends when they were toddlers and their parents put them in dance class (you know, before the rebellion ruined everything). all of them and palmyra monty became very close as they aged and always wanted to be together.

→ after the war ended and life returned to normal, livia and palmyra were the only ones who continued with ballet- but the other girls always showed up to support them.

→ livia is the unofficial leader of the group. no one ever outright said it, but everyone knows that livia cardew is in charge.

→ livia and arachne argue the most. they both have really strong personalities but they’re also very good about just letting shit go after they’ve had their fight.

→ persephone is the mom friend and nearly always has to play mediator between the girls.

→ the incident between livia and palmyra occurred when they were like 13. palmyra got the role in the ballet that livia wanted and livia was very obviously jealous.

→ it didn’t help matters that palmyra was flirting with festus creed knowing that persephone liked him.

→ the final straw went something like this:

*the group is sitting together in class with a couple boys and palmyra is flirting with festus and talking about what a great dancer she is.*

festus: “is palmyra a good dancer, livia?”

livia: “well…”

palmyra: “oh you’re one to talk! look who got the lead and look who didn’t!”

cue the shouting match.

→ livia is really protective over her girls. the whole reason she made fun of coriolanus for being and orphan was because he was making rude comments to persephone about a maid. she didn’t quite understand why he was saying it or why persephone seemed so upset- but no one was going to make her friend cry.

→ vipsania has a bad habit of saying rude things about her friends to make herself feel better. she doesn’t mean to and she really does love her friends, she’s just a little insecure.

→ livia hates felix for “stealing” festus from persephone (and because she thinks he’s a boring loser).

→ pippa sometimes still has dinner with palmyra but doesn’t tell the other girls about it.

→ when arachne was killed, it absolutely devastated all the girls. it was like a piece of them was missing and they knew it would never be the same.

Okay, I once historically hit that same roadblock re:historical transness (rambly, apologies). And from what I can tell, there was...really nothing standardized. Even in terminology, or if it was, someone has gone and made it REAL hard to find. Everything from "This was NOT a thing," to "Well, this person did it and everyone just let them so ???" But the era DID seem to have a visible uptick in like, extreme nonconformity (rumors have it the Georgian era might have been more fun with it though). BUT I also feel like it would have been...simple to be? Depending who you were. Easy to just show up somewhere as someone new with nobody knowing. And while medical stuff was totally not there yet, Glory to the artificial body type adjustments made by clothing structure. Padding and illusions for literally everyone. But overall, would probably be more of an "open secret with people who know me" thing than something widely known socially, unfortunately. Anyone feel free to correctly if I'm wildly incorrect or out of date on my notes, though, they are Old(tm), so who knows what's been dug up in the records since then?
