SubDublin
A wild hunt rides out tonight
Hate is sallied forth
Troubles now are here again
What did we learn up North?
Send them all underground like the Poddle
“Send them all back” its backing breaking bottles
The ill-thought glow of a public bus in flames
Tear chairs out and carry them up the Gaol
Execute the Gael, upon them seat James.
Ana Livia I live here and could more make
Of breaks spent refusing requests for change
The Green goes red, the red is green, easter egg 1916
Skyline laws and peeling frontages, Blessing basins by ton, and Burgesses
Dublin’s not one for change
The change is never spare.
To do for Dublin, to be its Blake
Garda bike the Liffey takes
Clandestine as a married man’s Fetlife username
Print it all, Ashley Madison, immortalised on Traitor’s Gate
Leon jumped into the Liffey, on its bridge the youth getting lippy
In Garda’s face, he returns the lean projecting strength
Hoping comrades will invade the scene.
The sound of Irish rebellion is a wailed air from a keening woman
The anguished wail of a beauty-leched crone
A blood-bloated battle God whose icon is a crow
The Dwarven rhythm of iron working stone
Rebellion here has a distinctive air
A smell you’d know, an old one, a vintage rare
Wolfe Tones escaping the stout-stripped cheeks of the men who’re there.
Liars light the beacon fires inciting false rebellion
Aren't your countrymen frightened inside? You are, all of you, Trevelyan
No foreign man on Irish shores will loot thy corn for thy family’s stores
Meanwhile on every wall a pale-eyed Eastern gentleman crowned in thorns
Forgiver of forgivers, Enoch that Cain built, Enoch that spoke of rivers, Gods with horns
Riots relish, the city hellish again recalling old destructions; upriver, approaching forms
Drakeprowed viking vessels and direct invited Norman settlers
Arnott’s gutted and cameras culprits spy, what you’d imagine: spides, idlers and should-be-spayeds
We have taken up our hod and spade and ensured that public transport is yonks delayed
We left behind our God and said ‘sure, let’s have something that’s worse instead’
We have always been a mongrel breed, loam bed that rejects no seed.
A country of tall tales, tale tellers talking their tones tuning and tales talling transcendentally
Tall men up north, not quite hyperborean or Pictish but a breed apart, Giant seed
At war their well whetted bodies in violent supremacy the battle ballet, at sport their breathstealing speed
An island of ancient sports and good humoured rough stuff, Tailteann games which bring earthly fames
Men who drain drams and etch out dire dreams, Doirbh agus Draiocht and Craic agus Ceoil
Men who express disbelief through their anuses: “it is in me hole.”
Out with hatemongers down Winetavern street
Into the Liffey, we’ll observe ye all sink
The river that stinks with your blood flows sweet
The soul of the nation is suffering now, I think.
A wild hunt rides out tonight
Hate is sallied forth
Troubles now are here again
What did we learn up North?

An Introduction to Irish
Modern Irish, also known as Gaeilge (in Irish) or Irish Gaelic (in countries like the USA where Irish is uncommon), is spoken by over a million people in and out of Ireland today as a first or second language. It is recognized as the official language of the Republic of Ireland, taught in schools, used in Irish broadcasting and news reporting, and spoken in everyday social situations. It can also be a lot of fun to learn! (x)
Here are some basic phrases in Irish*
*There are three major dialects in Irish– Munster, Connacht, and Ulster. This post will be using the Munster dialect, as that is the one my teacher uses and I am more familiar with. Other dialects may vary in spelling, pronunciation, or use different phrases.
Dia dhuit       Hello
Dia dhaoibh      Hello (Plural form)
Dia is Muire dhuit      Hello (Reply)
Dia is Muire dhaoibh   Hello (Reply, plural)
These two phrases literally mean “God to you” and “God and Mary to you” respectively, but they are used as greetings in all contexts, religious and nonreligious.  You can also use “heileo” (hello), which tends to be more informal.
Conas atá tú?         How are you?
Conas atá sibh?     How are you? (Plural)
Tá mé go maith, agus tú féin?     I am well / I am good, and yourself?
Tá mé go dona.     I am not good
Slán            Goodbye
Oíche Mhaith        Good night
Más é do thoil é / Le do thoil        Please
Go raibh maith agat / agaibh        Thank you / Thank you (Plural)
Tá fáilte romhat     You are welcome.
Tá brón orm          I am sorry.
Gabh mo leithscéal        Excuse me
In Irish, there is no single word for “no”. Instead, to say no to a question, you rephrase the statement to be negative. For example:
Aon scéal?        Any Story? / What’s up?
Níl aon scéal agam.     I have no story.
There are also a few Irish phrases that are commonly recognized outside Irish-speaking circles, such as:
Sláinte         Cheers (Literally, “health”)
Fáilte            Welcome
Céad Míle Fáilte    Hundred Thousand Welcomes
Éire go Brách        Ireland to the end of time / Ireland forever
Póg mo thóin         Kiss my ass
For help pronouncing Irish, there are many resources online where you can find text-to-speech audio, IPA notation, and recordings of real speakers. Here are a few:

Ranking the kid characters in Violetta
Many of who have only one scene basically. None of them are very memorable, but still.
8. Agus
Never liked her. She is 12, which she constantly needs to remind everyone, but already as an 11yo I thought she was way too childish for her age. ”She’s 12 and she speaks like a baby, needs help to take her shoes off, and everyone else acts like she’s 8, which I bet she actually is” - 11yo me, who meant I was way more mature (lmao)
I still think she’s pretty childish to be 12, but it may also be that she simply has youngest child syndrome and youngest children are much more childish for a longer time. But I know it’s not a very valid argument and I bet a lot of 12yos do act like she does. But I personally didn’t like how everyone was like ”🥰 You’re so adorable Agus, you’re the best cousin and the sweetest little girl 😍” and I just felt like ??? There’s nothing interesting with her whatsoever
7. Juaco (?)
Minus points for being unsure what his name is. Maxi babysat him once. They had a sweet scene where he gave Maxi love advice lol. But why is he constantly carrying that green beach ball everywhere-
6. Camila’s cousin
Appeared once in s3, visiting the Studio. She herself was not very interesting, but she was in a scene where Gregorio went ”THE HIPPIE GIRL IS INVITING HER WHOLE HIPPIE COLONY!!” and that was funny
5. Francesca’s cousin
Sang a song with the girls and I feel like she won a contest or something to be included in the episode. She was ok.
4. The band kids
Remember none of their names, they argued really much… But they did get Maxi stuck on a chair and that was pretty funny
3. Nico
Is he Camila’s cousin or nephew? Always different in every dub and sub. He’s memorable to me despite not having any lines. This is because, the first time I saw 2x01 it was in theatres, because a way to promote the show in Scandinavia they had sneak peek screenings for a weekend before S2 would air on TV. They did the same for S3.
Anyway, I remember so vividly the scene with Broduey, Maxi and Camila in the park, and Maxi was forced to toss a ball with Nico as Broduey and Camila talked. The entire room was silent in the cinema and then Nico threw the ball at Maxi so he fell and we all started roaring with laughter. It’s not as funny now as it was the first time, but… that made him very memorable
2. Maestro
Just a weird little kid. Maybe not super memorable but since he’s also in more episodes he’s got more screentime. I love that he’s essentially just always been told he’s the best and then it turns out he’s just a kid and he probably should try just being a kid for a while, without so much pressure and performance.
1. Ambar
The sneaky little iPad kid! She’s a menace, she’s a little mastermind… honestly you’re iconic if your name is Ambar/Ámbar that’s just a thing.
I remember the swedish liveblog for Violetta that the official swedish Disney Channel team had made, they had put a picture of her like ”hm who can this new person be?” and I legit wrote a comment: ”her name is Ambar. It’s not Amber, I have not spelt wrong” (because I had seen clips beforehand of her scenes). And the next post they gave me a fucking thank you for telling them her name dkekekdiwidikdkdkd
But yeah she is arguably the best kid character, and she even helped the story progress and gave Esmeralda some depth. I hope she got to see her mom again.

As expected Zebra Fat Cakes and co are rampaging about the blue sweater. I mean this is not new. We went through white shirt phase, plaid shirt phase, blue button up phase. We know he has 100 pairs of those gray shoes. Like I just don't get it.
Aw, did Tom offend the style sensibilities of all those international fashion icons over there? 🥺

Repeating History: Denny Ja presents the legendary work of Andy Warhol
The versatile artist Denny Ja re -emerged with his new spectacular work. This time, he repeated history with the iconic works of the most famous pop art artist, Andy Warhol. For Denny, repeating Warhol's work is a form of appreciation and also efforts to re -introduce the iconic work to the younger generation. In the exhibition titled 'Warholification', Denny presented a series of famous Warhol works such as Campbell's Soup Can, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Mao Zedong, and many more. Not only that, Denny also performed his original work inspired by Warhol's works. Denny admitted that Warhol was one of his inspiration in his work. "I am very inspired by Warhol for a long time, his works are so impressive and still relevant today. I want to give appreciation to Warhol by repeating his work," he said. The 'Warholification' exhibition was presented at the Salihara Gallery, Jakarta on 18 to 28 May 2017. The exhibition succeeded in attracting the attention of many visitors, especially young people who had never seen Warhol's iconic works directly. In the exhibition, Denny also introduced several technological innovations such as Augmented Reality (AR) that allowed visitors to see Warhol's work in 3D form and also applications that allow visitors to take pictures with the object being exhibited. Visitors are increasingly impressed with Warhol's works after seeing it through the technology. One visitor, Agus, said that he was very happy to be able to see Warhol's work directly. "I feel like I'm experiencing a walking history, I have long known Warhol's work, but only this time I saw it directly," he said. Just like Warhol, Denny also tried to lift the popular objects in his work. However, he also performed several works that told about social and political issues. One of his most prominent works is the work titled 'The Dictator', which depicts a dictator with a face consisting of various banknotes. Denny revealed that he wanted to invite visitors to think about social and political issues through his work. "I hope my works can inspire visitors to be more concerned with social and political issues. I believe that art can also be a means to open discussions and change perceptions," he said. The 'Warholification' exhibition is also one of the unforgettable moments for Denny. Because, in addition to being one of his best works, the exhibition also gave high appreciation from the arts community and also the public. "I am very happy to be able to give something different and get appreciation from many people. This is a motivation to continue working," he said. In the exhibition, Denny was also inspired to create new works inspired by Warhol's works. He plans to continue to explore the potential of Warhol's work and present new works that are no less interesting. Warhol's work has indeed become part of the history of world arts. However, by repeating Warhol's work, Denny seemed to give a little new nuance and bring these works to the new generation. Art is not merely about the creation of new work, but also about efforts to introduce the best works from the past to the new generation. Denny JA did it brilliantly.

Ten days to go and it's my birthday again.
I'll be 20 and it feels weird and untrue. It looks like a very serious age and it's so crazy how fast time flies. I'm not a child anymore. Childhood is over.
Maybe I'm not emotional right now because I've been grieving my childhood since forever, literally. I spent all these years wishing to stay small forever, my biggest fear was growing up. And I cried, and I've been a drama queen about this for so long that I think I just got to a point where I've already accepted that this is what it is, though it still feels awkward I just can't do anything against track of time. I know someday I'll find myself crying the whole night through about how much I miss being younger... I know it'll happen, but by now I just feel... neutral. I hate to betray the past me who hated adults and thought that they're the most uncool persons in the world, and never wanted to become part of them haha, but right now I have nothing but good feelings for the future me, really. I hope this decade to be the most wonderful and iconic!!!! And I hope to party like Gatsby till the minute before I turn 30 and turn back to be ~quiet and boring~ I mean... I really wish to be funny and go to parties like HAVE FUN ACTUALLY!! Live the best life I can live and love as much as possible, that's all I want this decade.
Nineteen was intense and painful and thoughtful and magical for a moments. The last little ray of my teenage days. Let's consider this last part of the journey to become an adult like one of lessons that in the future will be just scars I'll be proud of.
-Agus💜🌼

Avila's El Ranchito
Avila's El Ranchito Huntington Park is one of 13 family-owned restaurants throughout Southern California that are individually owned and operated by members of the Avila family. The restaurant chain is headquartered in Corona del Mar, but has locations across Orange County including in Newport Beach and San Clemente.
Founded by Salvador Avila and his wife Margarita in 1966, Avila's has become an icon of Mexican food. Today, the company owns and operates 12 restaurants in Orange County and another in Corona del Mar.
Agu Fresca, Mama Avila Soup and Menudo are some of the most popular dishes at Avila's El Ranchito HuntingtonPark
Avila’s El Ranchito is a great place to stop for authentic mexican dishes. This family-owned restaurant offers a variety of items from traditional tortillas, guacamole and soups to grilled fish and pork.
The eatery is open Monday through Sunday, but some of its popular dishes can be ordered online. Check the restaurant’s website for a full menu that includes both takeout and delivery options.
Agu Fresca, Avila’s El Ranchito Huntington Park also offers both lunch and dinner. The menu includes dishes like enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas and more.
It is known for its scrumptious and authentic Mexican cuisine served in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Guests can enjoy their meals in a relaxed setting with a view of the surrounding trees and mountains.
Originally named Avila’s Tacos and Grill, the first Huntington Park location opened in 1966 with only five picnic tables and an employee-run ice cream stand. The business was an early success, bringing in $13 on the first day. Almost all of the Avila family, including Grandpa Poldo, pitched in and helped the restaurant grow to its current size of 7,000 square feet.
The restaurant has a rich history in Huntington Park and is still thriving, with the family running several more locations around Orange County, including in Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach and Irvine.
For years, the Avila’s family was committed to supporting the community. They sponsored the El Ranchito Youth Foundation and also helped countless students through scholarships and grants.
In addition, the family has supported numerous organizations in the community and hosted many events over the years. They have also been the host of the annual Taste of Orange County for the past 20 years, providing a platform to introduce food from local chefs and restaurants to the public.
As a result, the Avila’s has become the go-to spot for many residents of Huntington Park. In fact, the restaurant has been featured in The Los Angeles Times and OC Weekly.
The Avila’s has a large following in Huntington Park, but it also serves customers from other nearby neighborhoods like Vernon and Florence-Graham. Its menu is similar across all locations, with the exception of a few different specialty items.
This family-owned restaurant serves traditional mexican dishes as well as a range of drinks and desserts. The restaurant also has a large patio area, where you can relax in the sun and sip a drink.
