S For Stark, Not Santa by agentsimmons

Science Boyfriends ⚬ 75k ⚬ Christmas action fic 10/10, would recommend!

▶ Featuring bonus fic set in chapter 14: In Bruce Santa Believes

I have to be honest with you, I had no idea what to do with this fic. I had seen it long ago but now that Christmas came it was time to give it a try if I ever would - so I did, and yesterday, I stayed up until 3am to finish it.

Was it worth it? More than.

This wonderful fic caught my attention because agentsimmons (follow them @sciencedads ) has never failed me before - I know I can trust the quality of those fics, and yet as much as I don’t like the word crack, this fic was rightfully self-proclaimed crack.

And you know what? That’s fine.

The wonderful, bizarre Christmas extravaganza of Tony Stark becoming Santa Claus seemed like it couldn’t turn out anything other than strange. I knew it would be a good kind of strange but it still seemed strange. 

And yet the fic managed to surprise me - because don’t misunderstand me - it totally counts as crack. But despite all that, it manages to be dead serious, absolutely emotionally engaging and incredibly down to earth. 

It’s not what I expect from an everyday Christmas fic, not the classic snowed in romance, it’s fresh and original and there are still cookies and Christmas trees and the whole shebang, all of the story capturing the Christmas spirit better than I would have thought possible.

That was an in-story reference because I had to.

What it definitely gets points for is introducing Bruce and the whole relationship fairly early, handling angst in a way that’s deliciously painfully without making me want to scream at unnecessary misunderstandings, and wonderful, wonderful depth.

It’s emotional, it’s funny, it’s cute, and all that wrapped up in Christmas crack.

If you are still sceptical, I can assure you, as someone who also initially was, that you won’t regret giving it a try. Start, and keep going for a while, and soon the unique style of this fic will draw you in.

Agents of S.I.C.K

Is there ever going to be an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D where one of the agents is sick? Not from some alien disease but like sick with the flu? Think about it, they’re around all sorts of people and it’d only be human if they got sick sometimes. Then the agent (it’d be most funny if it were Fitz, Jemma or May because they’re stubborn) would be trying to do work and complete their mission while being a complete mess and everyone else keeps nagging them to go to bed.
