Hey, so just in case the main MCU fandom hasn't gotten it yet, Loki was a good king

I don't mean that ironically, I mean that genuinely, because he actually took proactive steps as Odin to not only protect Asgardians, but to protect people of other realms

"Odin" sends down Sif twice in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and each time it was to help them. First time it was because Lorelei had escaped and he knew she could do massive damage, second was because a Kree landed on Earth and historically, Kree landing on other planets is never a good sign

Loki didn't have to do these types of things. He could've just let them be all alone, like Odin did. By putting on plays about his own noble sacrifice, the people thought he was Odin. But instead he chose to lend a hand, to send Sif down to help S.H.I.E.L.D., and that's something Odin would never do

Rewatching Agents of Shield "Who You Really Are" Because I hadn't seen it in so long and there was a lot I forgot.

The basic plot is Lady Sif is on earth looking for someone, but she also has amnesia and doesn't remember who she is or what she was looking for just the work Kavas

First off, hey remember when Asgardians were super strong?

Sif doesn't remember anything except for "Only basic lessons a child would learn."

This is interesting because it shows a lot about Sif. She is very excited about the idea of being a warrior. Also, Thor's name instantly makes her smile, which is adorable. Loki fans may have a harsh opinion of Sif, but I think this episode shows that she has many inherent noble aspects. She is respectful and thankful to the SHIELD agents, and she trusts and credits them for their bravery.

So few things about this first of remember, in this scene, Odin is actually Loki in disguise. At the very least, Loki was being pragmatic and watching out for Earth. He could have easily said that The Avengers or Thor could take care of it themselves, but he took the initiative to ensure that Asgard fulfilled its duty as protectors

Second, I really did forget so much about this episode. They know about the Kree, their reputation, and their history. So, there is no reason they shouldn't know about Thanos. Loki has a reason to want to stay away, but what's the reason for Odin's inaction? He's not a secret.

Even If the Asgardians are more Aliens than Gods in the MCU it's so disappointing to see how they are so lessened over time. They were super advanced; they knew how the technology worked. They saw the universe in a different way.

I wish the Thor lore could have built more on what AOS set up.

it is so weird to rewatch phase 1 and have these canonically extremely skilled and competent women in every movie, but also still see the same old sexism applied to them.

like, natasha romanoff, who at this point went through the fucking red room and everything that's associated with leaving the red room, having a breakdown after running away from the hulk for a little bit. thats pretty much a morning workout for her. generally the way they still sexualized her in this movie and had her act in some scenes.

i know it was 2012 and joss whedon but come on

One thing I absolutely adore about the Lorelei episode in season one, is that like May is clearly worried for Ward the whole time, even to the point of trying to convince him to fight the mind control which before that point you'd think it uncharacteristic of her, especially after telling Coulson and Lady Sif that sleeping with Ward wasn't a problem in the slightest, only for it to blow up in her face, first by making out with Ward in front of her, saying she had a heart of ice, and then telling her that it wasn't her that Ward had feelings for, which obviously meant Daisy, but despite all of that, there is not even a single thought wasted on considering getting mad at Daisy, or dragging Daisy into, or being resentful. Which obviously you wouldn't expect from May anyway, but almost always in shows or books or whatever with this kind of dynamic between two women and one guy, it almost always becomes a thing or point of tension between the two women, and I just really really appreciate that this show chose not to do that

And plus at the end of the episode, May goes to Coulson and says that he has to talk to someone about whats going on, and with not her then Daisy, because Daisy deserves to know what's going on, and what's happening to her and I just love that for both of them

Lady Juliana (Mother of Kayley): Juliana cares much about her daughter but is concerned about her dream to become a Knight after losing her husband to being a knight.

Jemma Simmons (Mother of Alya Fitz): Jemma gave up her memories of her daughter to complete the mission and was very relieved to meet her daughter again. Jemma retired from S.H.I.E.L.D. so that Alya could be raised away from the danger that S.H.I.E.L.D. brought. Jemma passed on her scientific curiosity to her daughter watching the stars together.

It's been a decade since she saw Sif. The last time wasn't great, but hey, they're in space, thousands of lightyears from Earth, maybe it'll go better this time.
