A random thought I'm thinking. What if the writing team for Sonic 3 went through AO3 and saw there wasn't enough angst fanfic for Stobotnik and went "Kay, we need to make these authors so distraught, saddened and heart broken that they'll NEED to write fix-it fics and post movie fics about what happens to Stone cause we sure ain't gonna tell them what happens to him."
#stobotnik#agent stone#dr robotnik#sonic 3#sonic 3 stuff#sonic 3 movie#this is how i cope#Cause the Dr. Eggman | Dr. Robotnik/Agent Stone tag went from like 1080 fics (before S3 came out) to now about 1170 fics#we really be coping

Seether - Fuck It 2002
Disclaimer is the debut studio album by South African rock band Seether. It features three successful singles which would remain some of the band's most well-known songs. It is their first release under their current name after changing it from Saron Gas in 2002 to avoid confusion with the deadly nerve agent sarin gas. Seven of the tracks that appeared on their previous album Fragile appeared re-recorded on Disclaimer. The follow-up studio album Disclaimer II (2004) is a recompilation. Although the 12 tracks from the original album are present, they were slightly remixed and differ from the original. In Europe, the album includes four tracks more than its predecessor; in USA, the album has eight extra tracks, some of which had been previously released on soundtracks, such as "Hang On," which had been featured on the 2003 Daredevil soundtrack and "Out of My Way," which had been featured on the soundtrack to the 2003 horror film Freddy vs. Jason as well as the 2017 film Transformers: The Last Knight. "Fine Again" also appeared on Madden NFL 2003 and 1080° Avalanche. "Fuck It" recieved 47% total yes votes.

The Devil's Herb
Ship: Emily Prentiss/Tara Lewis
Summary: When did aging become so complicated?
Word Count: 1080
Author's Note: This fills the Aphrodisiacs square on my @cmkinkbingo2024 card.
As much as getting older had always been an unavoidable eventuality, Emily had spent much of her life pushing her age to the back of her mind. Maybe it was because she’d always been too busy to think about it. Maybe it was because she’d watched her mother doing everything in her power to maintain a facade of youth. Maybe it was just her own flawed psyche.
Whatever the reason, she found it creeping up on her faster than she would have liked.
The first thing had been the glasses. It wasn’t that she looked bad wearing glasses, she was just stubborn. She didn’t want to admit that she needed them and thus spent far longer than wise or necessary squinting, rather than acknowledge the truth of her declining vision.
The second thing had been the grey hair. It didn’t matter how many times Tara reassured her that she found her beautiful regardless of the colour of her hair, she couldn’t seem to make her peace with it. She’d spent so many years dying it, doing her best to pretend and ignore and disguise, but eventually – during the pandemic – she’d just fallen out of the habit and let the grey take over.
The most insidious thing, though, was menopause. Partly because it killed her just a little to know that she’d never have a child of her own. Partly because her normally rampant libido quickly disappeared. And, worst of all, the anorgasmia that came with it. It was frustrating and insidious and depressing.
Tara repeatedly told her that it didn’t matter to her – that an orgasm wasn’t the point of sex, although it certainly made it more enjoyable – but Emily remained unconvinced... She’d tried everything she could think of to deal with her depleting hormone levels (short of actually talking to a medical professional), but nothing had helped.
(“What about marijuana?” Tara had suggested one night.
Emily had raised a pointed brow. “I don’t think Federal Agents are supposed to endorse drug use...” she’d said dryly.
Tara just laughed. “Are you going to tell on me?”)
___________
Emily flopped back on the bed, giggling as she exhaled smoke towards the open window.
“Hey, be careful with that joint, stoner,” Tara teased, “Don’t want to set the bed on fire...”
“Just with passion, right?” she said with a snort of amusement.
Tara rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. “I think you’re officially high,” she said, taking the joint from her and taking a drag, then setting it in the ashtray on her nightstand. “Feel anything?”
Emily thought on that for a moment, then shrugged. “Hard to stay. I mean stay. Say!” she said, taking a few tries to get the word right. Then, she burst out laughing again.
“You’re goofy when you’re high,” Tara said fondly, then leaned in to kiss her. The kiss was chaste at first, but quickly turned passionate, Emily’s hands frenzied and frantic over Tara’s body in their search for purchase.
Finding what she was searching for, she tangled her fingers in Tara’s hair, nails scraping across her scalp, eliciting a little whine from Tara’s lips. Her other hand slid under Tara’s tank top, exploring the planes of her stomach, then up to her breast.
“Em, it’s okay,” Tara reassured her, pulling back from the kiss, “We don’t have to...”
She moved to catch her lips once again, silencing her protests. “I want to,” she rasped between kisses. “I want this...”
“There’s no pressure,” Tara started to insist, in spite of her eager agreement, “There’s never...”
“I know,” Emily said, pulling back far enough to fix her with a serious look. A beat. Then, in a smaller voice, “I trust you, Tara. Completely.”
That, apparently was enough reassurance because, in the next moment, she’d rolled them so Emily was pinned beneath her. “Fuck, you’re gorgeous,” she breathed, moving to trail kisses down her throat, down the valley between her breasts. At the same moment, her hand trailed along Emily’s thigh to drag her knuckles between her thighs, bringing them away slick. “Want to taste?”
She whined, nodded eagerly, accepting Tara’s fingers into her mouth and laving them with her tongue, sucking off every last drop.
“Good girl,” Tara purred, removing her fingers so she could kiss her once again, stealing the gasp Emily made as she slid her fingers into her dripping cunt. “You feel so good, Em,” she said, pulling back to fix her with a lascivious grin, watching the way her face contorted in ecstasy as she began moving her fingers.
“Don’t stop, Tara, please...” she begged, moving her hips – slow at first, then faster, chasing after her fingers and the promise of cumming.
“Feels good, don’t it?” Tara said, “You want more?”
She nodded desperately.
Tara chuckled. “Poor girl wants to cum so damn bad, huh?”
She nodded again, pouting, pleading.
“You’ve waited a long time, haven’t you? You deserve to feel good...” Emily couldn’t seem to form words in her desperate need, but she writhed beneath her, nearly sobbing with want. Tara raised a brow as she pinned her hip to the bed, keeping her legs spread with her knees. “If you want to cum, just say so...”
“T-Tara...” she whined, “I-I want...”
“What do you want, Baby?” she taunted. “Use your words...” Huffing in frustration, Emily pouted up at her, doing her best to convince her with her best puppy dog eyes. “You can do better than that, Baby.”
She practically sobbed. “Tara, please,” she choked out, “I need to cum...”
“Such a good girl,” Tara praised, her thumb finding her clit, eliciting a gasp, then a moan. “You can cum, Baby,” she coaxed. She latched her lips on Emily’s breast, sucking a bright purple bruise to the surface, the scraping her teeth along the bruise. She repeated the action with her other breast, leaving a matching mark.
With the stimulation of Tara’s fingers and her lips and teeth, it didn’t take long for Emily to climax, her back arching off the bed, her hips twitching, cunt spasming. “Jesus Christ, Tara!” she gasped as her muscles went slack and she collapsed back on the bed.
“I don’t like to say: I told you so, but...” Tara said with a playful grin.

The earliest hagiographical narratives relating [Edward the Martyr’s] death are near contemporary, composed within the lifetimes of its antagonists. These early accounts of the martyrdom are politically cautious for, as Keynes notes in reference to Vita Oswaldi (presuming it enjoyed a wide dissemination), it is reasonable to assume “that the author’s indiscretions would be punished.” It is an understandable circumspection granted that the murder occurred in Corfe on lands controlled by Edward’s stepmother, and that her son succeeded to the throne. As Stafford highlights of Vita S. Dunstani—silent on Edward’s murder, but vociferous in condemning Ælfgifu and Æthelgifu—political commentary was safer when made of the dead. Thus, while Edward’s assassination is described as a political event from its earliest recounting, the motif of the treacherous woman does not enter the narrative until relatively late in its transmission. The entry for 979 in the D-text of the Chronicles rages that the murder was the worst deed the English had committed “since first they came to Britain,” while refraining from any direct accusations. Likewise, Vita Oswaldi is vociferous in its condemnations, but vague in its denunciations, the author Byrhtferth laying the blame on unidentified rebellious thegns who murdered Edward in order to place his more compliant brother, Æthelred, on the throne. Even Wulfstan of York, in his famously hyperbolic homily Sermo Lupi ad Anglos does not implicate Ælfthryth, simply stating that “Edward was betrayed and then killed.”
Preaching in 1014 at the height of England’s political unrest, Wulfstan’s intent was to decry the moral depravities of the English that had led to divinely administered depredations by Danish forces. Particularly reprehensible to Wulfstan was “that a man should betray his lord to death, or drive him in his lifetime from this land,” both acts which he declares “have happened in this country.” Interestingly, as Wulfstan goes on to describe these betrayals, the manuscript traditions diverge. Three manuscripts refer only to Edward’s assassination, while the remaining two also reference Æthelred’s exile during the brief reign of Sweyn Forkbeard (1013–1014). The omission of Æthelred’s exile by scribes is understandable in a political milieu governed by an ascendant Danish dynasty, yet the inclusion of both events is the logical conclusion to Wulfstan’s rhetoric and seems genuine to the composition. That Wulfstan mentions Æthelred’s exile alongside Edward’s death as crimes committed by the English people indicates that Wulfstan did not believe Æthelred to be culpable in the king’s murder. While Wulfstan’s silence on the person of Ælfthryth means that this argument cannot be extended to her involvement, to undermine the now dead queen would have been to undermine the legitimacy of Æthelred’s reign at a time when the English needed a united political class. That Wulfstan, unlike the hagiographers, does not seek to enhance this retributive narrative through a condemnation of feminine power reflects the political milieu in which he was preaching. Irrespective of any truth that may underlie Ælfthryth’s potential involvement in Edward’s murder, there was no political benefit to be derived in the early eleventh century by accusing the queen-mother of complicity.
Clearly the political environment of England had changed by the time of the authorship of Passio Eadwardi (1070 x 1080), which does cast Ælfthryth as the treacherous woman, conspiring against her political rival and effecting his death through murderous agents. As used by the Passio author, the trope is precisely parallel to the structure underlying the characterisations of Cynethryth and Cwoenthryth and, as with these other ‘wicked queens,’ once the motif entered the hagiographical tradition it became the dominant narrative transmitted in subsequent accounts. Henceforth Ælfthryth is portrayed as the archetypal treacherous woman, the text explicit in describing her motivation to be “that her son, the child Æthelred, may rule in [Edward’s] place.” However, it cannot pass without comment that Passio may indeed preserve a memory of a genuine betrayal; suspicion of Ælfthryth’s involvement is a logical conclusion drawn from the location of the murder and the political benefit she derived from it. The contemporary accounts of Edward’s martyrdom may reflect a deliberate political amnesia that did not need to be maintained after 1016 with the protagonists dead, a new dynasty on the throne, and the political danger removed. Yet it must be reiterated that, though a plausible theory, no contemporary source supports a murder accusation levelled at Ælfthryth.
Nonetheless, the Passio narrative of the murder was the most prominent version transmitted into the twelfth century, and the trope of the treacherous woman came to dominate portrayals of Ælfthryth. John of Worcester, for example, stated that Edward was murdered “at the command of his step-mother,” while his contemporary, William of Malmesbury declared that Ælfthryth, “with a step-mother’s hatred and a viper’s guile ... laid plots against her stepson’s life.” Geffrei Gaimar, writing a mere decade after William and John, pushed the motif of the “wicked queen” further with a salacious narrative of treachery and betrayal, while Henry of Huntingdon, writing in the 1130s, went so far as to place the murder weapon in Ælfthryth’s hands. Continuing that theme, in the late twelfth century Walter Map described a scene in which Ælfthryth offered a poisoned cup of wine, while Roger of Wendover in the early thirteenth century added a sexualised dimension to the “wicked queen,” Edward stabbed as Ælfthryth beguiled him with caresses, kisses, and wine. There is little doubt these characterisations of the queen-mother were intrinsically linked with the perceived failures of her son’s reign. All the aforementioned chroniclers, with the exception of John of Worcester, associate Æthelred’s coronation the following year with ill-portents, with Roger of Wendover explicitly linking the misfortunes to come with Edward’s murder. Yet it is also true that Ælfthryth was a powerful woman: an anointed queen-consort, queen-mother and regent in Æthelred’s minority, a noble woman who diplomas attest as politically active in the reigns of her husband and son. She was, in short, antithetical to good queenship as perceived by clerical authors of the late eleventh century. Thus, as the narrative became removed from the historical event, Ælfthryth lost any personal differentiation or political nuance, primarily serving the needs of hagiographical narrative as the antitype to the royal saint. Once isolated from the immediate political events following Edward’s death, the transmission and development of the treacherous woman in Passio Eadwardi becomes stereotypical […]. Perhaps the most salient political comment being made through the person of the treacherous woman of Edward’s passio is that noted by Klein, and also present Jezebel topoi—a warning of the dangers of queenly power.
Matthew Firth, ‘The Character of the Treacherous Woman in the passiones of Early Medieval English Royal Martyrs’, Royal Studies Journal 7 (2020)
#aelfthryth#My personal opinion? I think Aefthryth was at least complicit in her stepson's murder. Support women's wrongs etc#Also even if she was responsible that does not change how she was vilified. It doesn't change how a necessarily political act was gendered#and transformed into one passion and treachery ('stepmother's hatred and viper's guile') and used to defame other aspects of her life#Nor does it change how her political importance as queen was obscured and degraded for centuries because of it.#anglo-saxons#edward the martyr#english history#women in history#my post

whenever i get super restless i start looking at housing options in my area. don't ask why, i don't have an answer. but. please look at this place with me.
3 bed, 2 bath, 1080 square feet, with a 2 car garage, for $500k in Los Angeles. Don't know how nice the actual neighborhood is tho. Anyways.
the front entry/living room. grimy as hell. i'm not necessarily seeing any cracks which could mean poor foundation and given how ugly this house is, built in 1976, i feel like any bad foundation issues may've shown themselves via cracks by now? idk tho. i just watch a lot of flipping shows, what do i know?
that said, the interior pix remind me of that video of someone picking up a piece of uranium and the radiation doing funny things to their phone's camera. so. a little concerning there.
my fav part tho? the kitchen.
in all its neon green/yellow glory.
unsure if the wall where the stove would be is showing cracks or smth else tbh. the ceiling's kinda hilarious with the tray ceiling and two (count em, two!) recessed lights. Also i doubt that even a good DIYer would have trouble trying to salvage those cabinets, looks like they don't close properly. and where the hell would i put a fridge or dishwasher? before the little half wall that separates the kitchen area, but after the neon green indicates the start of the room? i guess those lil half walls can be torn down tho since they're not supporting anything, so maybe that'd work? could put a dining table in front of that window at least, if that's the case.
the previous residents must've gotten a good deal on paint or smth cut it's everywhere. guess they had no more money after putting down what looks like. vinyl wood-look floors? no idea what this room is tho, i assume a bedroom but the gieger counter screaming in pain is making it hard to tell.
i guess it's technically???? zoned for a bedroom? but i thought a closet's supposed to have a door or smth? idk shit about cali zoning laws tho. i guess you could put some sliding doors over this tho. still can't tell if that flooring is vinyl or actually like. parquet. or both. probably both. you see that light that's falling off the ceiling? and is that a mirror above the closet???
what is up with the perspective in these photos, they make the ceiling look like it's--- wait no it's actually at an angle, oh ok that's. god these photos are sure something. same with the paint. also i think this is AT LEAST the third kind of flooring we've seen, after the tile and the parquet. unknown if the first bedroom is a different-- wait no. this is four different kinds of flooring. in one house. what bargain bin leftovers did these people find....
continuation of what i can only assume is the primary/master suite. y'all see the pain chipping at the bottom left of that wall? i can't tell if it's water damage or just paint or-- what the fuck is up with the real estate agent's phone camera. anyone who buys this place is going to need to get the place tested for chemicals or some shit. also what the fuck is up with the framing of the closet? why's it all separated???
oh and i didn't show yall the garage earlier!
were they trying to put some kinda flooring down? it isn't clear. what's up with that wall on the right of the image tho???
i'm guessing it may have been an unpermitted or a former room in the house? with what looks like tile and with the window being so high up, was it some kinda bathroom???? what's going on here???

Everybody Is Dead...!
In the Metal Fight Beyblade verse, Rago is capable via Diablo Nemesis of absorbing the power of his opponent and gaining their abilities. He can also gain the abilities and power of everyone that opponent has fought from the beginning to the present.
Despite this, Pluto states that Nemesis has the power of every bey in the world by the time he and Rago do battle with the Legendary Bladers and company. It opens the door to a potential trickle down effect that would go on and on. It makes Rago's main ability one of the most horrifying in any verse.
This got me thinking about another potential trickle down that could be applied to another overpowered deity. This one being of light rather than destruction. Galeem. Due to the incredible amount of crossovers and cameos that can be traced via some path to someone within the Super Smash Bros verse, there's a disturbing amount of verses that are almost certainly reduced to non-existence alongside everyone that ever existed within that verse by the Lord of Light and it's "Everybody Is Dead" attack. That isn't counting restoring the verses back into existence and shuffling them while everyone in them become mindless slaves. Even the verses with stages, Mii outfits and music have potential to be completely screwed. A scenario like this would represent the absolute highest limit of Galeem's power...

But the tense interaction didn’t end there, with the real estate agent calling Christina “rude” for not responding to his pep talk. She snapped back, “I don’t ever talk.” Josh disagreed with Christina, asking, “Do you know how much s--t you say?” “I’m just like, ‘I wish you’d shut up already,’” he continued. “My wife’s pissing me off already.” The interior designer—who shares children Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with Tarek, and son Hudson, 5, with ex-husband Ant Anstead—simply replied, “Are we there yet?” https://akns-images.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/202502/cr_1200x1200-250102120828-GettyImages-1530491718.jpg?fit=around%7C1080:1080&output-quality=90&crop=1080:1080;center,top 2025-01-02 20:32:00

Unleash Your Inner Time Traveller with Old Skies Adventure

Old Skies point and click time travel adventure has new trailer, release date, and a Linux, Mac, and Windows PC demo. Thanks to the creative team at Wadjet Eye Games for bringing this to life. Due to make its way onto both Steam and GOG. Old Skies point and click drops us into a world of adventure where time travel is real but far from simple. It’s not some magical fantasy where you get to explore alternate lives or unmissed chances. No, this game’s got a gritty turn: all those other paths don’t even include us. And that’s where Fia Quinn steps in. She’s a time-traveling agent at the ChronoZen Time Travel Agency. Making sure history doesn’t get messed up while keeping her clients in line. In Old Skies, you’ll jump through time with Fia, taking on seven different cases across New York City. Each one’s set in a different historical era, from Prohibition’s hidden speakeasies to the wild gangs of the Gilded Age, even up to the World Trade Center just before September 11, 2001. And the thing is, each trip back in time comes with challenges — puzzles to solve, choices to make, and high stakes that could mess things up for the future. Your role is pretty clear: guide Fia through each mission, keep history safe, and handle clients who have their own mysterious, sometimes selfish reasons for time-jumping. Some just want a taste of history, while others are dead set on wrapping up old business. At first, their motives don’t matter to Fia — she’s all about keeping the timeline intact. But things change, and so does her perspective. When she starts caring, that’s when things get intense.

And yes, you can die in Old Skies. This is an adventure game with real consequences, but because of time travel, death doesn’t have to be the end. Mess up? Just jump back in and try again. Fia’s got to get it right, no matter how many times it takes. After all, if you’re going to toy with time, you’d better be ready for a challenge. As for the visuals and sound, Old Skies brings the goods. It’s got high-resolution graphics at 1920 x 1080, a full voice cast, and an original score by Thomas Regin (the talent behind Unavowed and the Blackwell series). You’re in for a visual and auditory treat as you wander through history’s dark alleys and hidden rooms. You can also get a sample of the gameplay with a Free Linux Demo on Steam. Launching in Spring 2025, Old Skies point and click time travel adventure will be available on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Created by Dave Gilbert, the mind behind Unavowed and the Blackwell mystery series. This title promises to be a fresh, time turning quest that’s worth every jump. If you’re into time-travel stories with a side of danger, get ready to dive in and see if you’ve got what it takes to survive history’s biggest mysteries. Due to make its way onto both Steam and GOG. Coming to Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. So try the native Demo.
