Cloning a store-bought mushroom

Cloning a store-bought mushroom involves taking a tissue sample from the mushroom and transferring it onto a nutrient-rich medium to encourage the growth of mycelium. Here are the steps to clone a store-bought mushroom:

Materials needed:

Store-bought  mushroom

Sterile  scalpel or knife

Sterile  petri dishes

Sterile  agar medium

Sterile   gloves

Incubator

Instructions:

Select     a healthy and fresh mushroom from the store. The mushroom should be free     from any visible signs of damage or contamination.

Sterilize     the scalpel or knife by dipping it into a 70% ethanol solution or by     heating it until it glows red hot. Allow the scalpel or knife to cool     before use.

Using     the sterilized scalpel or knife, cut a small piece of tissue from the     mushroom cap or stem. Make sure to avoid touching the tissue with your     fingers or any other non-sterile object.

Quickly     transfer the tissue sample onto a sterile petri dish containing the     sterile agar medium. Seal the petri dish with parafilm or sterile tape.

Incubate     the petri dish in a warm and dark place, such as an incubator, at a     temperature of around 20-25°C (68-77°F). After a few days, you should see     mycelium growth on the agar medium around the tissue sample.

Once     the mycelium has grown out sufficiently, you can transfer it onto a new     petri dish or into a container of sterilized substrate to encourage     fruiting.

Continue     to monitor the growth of the mycelium and the development of the fruiting     bodies.

By following these steps, you can successfully clone a store-bought mushroom and grow your own mycelium for further cultivation and experimentation.

Japanese voice actress Emi Shinohara, best known for her work as Sailor Jupiter in the original Sailor Moon, died on September 8, 2024. She was 61 years old. [Thanks, Oricon!]

According to her agency 81 Produce, Shinohara died from illness. However, it didn’t mention what she had. Shinohara made her voice acting debut in 1986. Aside from her work as Sailor Jupiter, Shinohara also voiced Kushina Uzumaki in Naruto: Shippuden, Kaho Mizuki in Cardcaptor Sakura, and Agarte in Tales of Rebirth. She appeared on tokusatsu shows as well, such as when she appeared in Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger as Burstosaur Pternadon.

In her personal life, Shinohara was married to Hiroshi Watari, a fellow voice actor and singer. He’s also a tokusatsu actor. She shared a birthday with fellow Sailor Moon voice actress Rika Fukami (Sailor Venus). The two often held shared birthday celebrations, as well as exchanged birthday congratulations over the phone every year.

Shinohara is not the only high-profile voice actress death in 2024. Earlier this year, Noriko Ohara (Nobita in Doraemon), Tarako (Maruko on Chibi Maruko-chan), Taiki Matsuno (Agumon in Digimon Savers), and Atsuko Tanaka (Bayonetta in Bayonetta) also passed away. With the exception of Ohara, most of them were around sixty years old.

Emi Shinohara died on September 8, 2024 from an unspecified illness.

The poll finished with 204 responses! Thank you everyone for participating. As last time, I reserved 5 spots for write-in votes. I'll post the final bracket in a bit, but for now, here is a summary of the results.

The next two most popular write-ins were Laplace from Luminaria, and Undine. I'm not sure which Undine, that is. Some voters specified the Symphonia version while others didn't specify. I think we will have to have a spirit tourney in the future to clear everything up.

In a similar situation are the spirits Luna and Celsius. Tied with them are Fourier from graces, Seres from Berseria, and Noir from Abyss.

Welcome to My Blog!

Greetings and salutations everyone! I hope wherever you are, you’re having a great day. Below will be some examples of my digital art, and a bit of information about myself! 

About Me

My name is Rem, I am a college student working on my BA in Creative Writing, a full time employee at everyone’s favorite burger joint, and an aspiring artist and writer. I’ve been playing around with digital art for roughly 3 years, as well as painting and other traditional styles of art. I am married, and have a lovely kitten named Poe who often decides my art is far less important than her (I can’t argue with her logic). I use he/him and they/them pronouns. 

I love a vast amount of musicals and movies, as well as animes and cartoons. 

I took a break from commissions for over a year to focus on classes, and now that I have more free time I’m looking to open them again, be it digital art, paintings ( I can ship within the USA), or short stories. 

The app I use for digital art is Audodesk’s Sketchbook. I used it to create the logo seen above (and on my profile) as well!
