I get the 'water is East, earth is West' thing! Where I live, we are the most eastern point before the ocean starts, but to our west is a mountain region that has a mountain cultural heritage site. Sometimes, witch spaces can often ignore that people live in different regions, and it sometimes feels excluding or shortsighted because of it.

Right! And like, here most of our weather comes from the northeast and south is warmer, so I'd do North - Air and South - Fire, but South - Fire would probably not make sense some places in the southern hemisphere!

I was saying this to a friend earlier and she was like, some people just want to learn rules instead of getting to know their own region, and that's honestly one of my biggest criticisms of modern witchcraft. People talk a lot about adapting their practices to their needs, but not a lot of people really ground themselves in their local ecosystem. And yeah I'm a hedgewitch and an animist and I do a lot of folk magic and spirit work so I'm obviously biased in favor of all those things, but like. Is it so strange to think that your location matters??

I didn't leave one orthodoxy-based religion just to get involved with another, I'm happy to learn how other people and other traditions do things, but it's got to make sense to me.

And nobody I've met locally has a good argument against Ocean-Water-East and Mountains-Earth-West besides "well that's not what I was taught".

Like??? How can you even do magic if you don't understand the whys and hows??? I certainly could not manage half of what I do if I were not in communion with my local ecosystem.

Hello there!! I'm wondering if I could fancy you to draw some codywan 🫡🥺🥹 more specifically Cody kissing Obi-Wans inner wrist (radial pulse) while holding onto his wrist. My personal hc is that while Obi-Wans thing is to kiss Cody's knuckles, Cody kisses his pulse on his inner wrist. Deep eye contact or eyes closed and everything because reasons that I won't be able to get into without I'll have a fucking breakdown (it's precious and it's intimate and it's deeply meaningful)
