my brain: Do you ever think about how Eric shaped and molded Alan into not only the keyboardist he wanted him to be (blues-inspired), but also allowed for Alan to feel more confident in himself and helped give him direction in his playing abilities, through emulating the styles of great blues artists? Eventually branching off on his own; Alan's talent wholly self-taught and unique to him, but given an added gift that presented him with opportunities for gain and for suffering.
