now that it’s not 6:30am, an actual point to be made about playing the first lae’zel romance scene as gale: people have already talked about how hands are central symbolically to gale’s character (literally first appears as a hand you have to take, uses the magic foundational to his character through his hands which is always the visual focus of his combat animations, holds your hand over his chest to share the memory of the orb, lots of focus on taking your hand in the astral romance scene) and generally how it relates to him as someone who places his self-worth on what he can do and give. all of which is to say that i’d forgotten that if you agree to do as lae’zel says, the scene literally starts with you closing your eyes and letting her lead you by the hand, which made all thoughts in my head stammer to a halt for a minute. like even symbolism aside, the enormous trust or i guess leap of faith it feels like that involves for a someone whose hands are so crucial to them. augh
