not counting the ones who show up in bg3 story, which bg1/2 npc would you want afhiri to meet? :0c

im going to use @ratscrap's art for this because to me that's the canon for the characters like. i know the bg1 characters AS rev's art..... not their canon art...... and in terms of not counting bg3 story, this would cut out only jaheira, minsc+boo, and vic.. and out of those it's minsc because afhiri and minsc are the same fucking person. to me. thats platonic idiotic soulmates baby . also no bg2 companions as i've not played it yet!!!!!!!!!!!! and it has a lot of bg2 only exclusive companions (most of them!) so ^_^

TIAX / RASAAD / ALORA BAELOTH / GARRICK / EDWIN

ok so i'll explain now. hehe

When asked about his past, TIAX ignores you entirely, preferring instead to loudly proclaim what is in store for his future. He obviously worships Cyric, but also seems to share a touch of his madness. Tiax unquestioningly believes that he is destined to rule the world, and his fervor makes him blind to the ridiculous nature of the goal. He seems harmless enough for now.

tiax is a fucking . maniac hes a chaotic evil gnome whos a CLERIC/THIEF who worships CYRIC who is the fucking prince of LIES who holds domain over things like tyranny murder lies illusions etc. and ok cyric is really cool but worshipping cyric is. Okay. hes absolutely HILARIOUS to talk to and is completely unhinged from reality and i think afhiri would find him so fucking funny like thats her best fucking friend he might be a lil evil and wanna rule the entire world but hes not achieving none of that hes just a silly little guy. i think they would play into his madness COMPLETELY like pretend to worship him as their leader bowing down to him and calling him fun titles he LOVES ..... sigh.... afhiri deserves to have tiax....

When asked about his past, RASAAD speaks sorrowfully about losing his brother, Gamaz, to the Shadow Thieves of Athkatla. Both Rasaad and Gamaz grew up in the Monastery of the Moon in Calimshan after a Sun Soul monk rescued them from the streets of Calimport. There the young boys had barely eked out a living as pickpockets after their father died in the Arena Efreetum, where he had been consigned for his debts. Despite the tragedy of his upbringing, Rasaad seems to have found peace in his order's teachings and their worship of Selûne, the Moonmaiden.

rasaad is a lawful good sun monk (one of my fav subclasses) who worships selune (one of my least favourite gods but we make do) and he doesn't SEEM like the type for afhiri .. in the same way candor doesn't. do you see my vision. i think things might have gone differently if a character like rasaad was in the main bg3 cast. he has such a lovely accent i think they'd want to listen to him alllll day and i genuinely think he would pull afhiri away from gale in some ways.. i do think ultimately gale would pull her back because magic shiny but rasaad teaming up with candor to bring afhiri to a good path ... man it could really fucking work. i think he'd be a brilliant influence on her. plus, i think they'd help rasaad a lot with his deep sadness . i think they'd be good for each other

When asked about her past, ALORA reveals that she was originally from Iriaebor. As a child she was cute, outgoing, and dangerously curious, causing no end of trouble for her parents. They tried to curb her lunatic behavior, and encouraged her to be content with home and hearth like other halflings. Alora found this unbearably stifling, and left to explore the world. She quickly found herself falling into all sorts of trouble, going to the wrong places and angering the wrong sorts of people. Eventually she found herself in the city of Baldur's Gate, and it was there that she discovered her future profession: thievery. Wealth was never her chief concern; it's just that too many interesting things are behind locked doors. Her unassuming temperament makes it easy for her to hoodwink the authorities, and her sweet nature has saved her from a jail cell numerous times.

ok so alora is so fucking special. so . i didnt know about alora before i made afhiri. not at all. and then rev told me about alora. and then i read her wiki. then i got into her dialogue in the nearinfinity tool which lets u rip open games in this engine basically. and uh. alora is afhiri. read that fucking bio. theres differences, yes, afhiri didn't get into trouble, she's not a thief. but everything else? her whole personality? the way she TALKS? THE FACT HER BEST FRIEND IN THE GAME IS A SUPER EVIL WIZARD WITH GRAND AMBITIONS AND SHE TALSK CUTELY TO HIM AND HE, WHO HATES PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE, FINDS HER CHARMING AND REALLY LIKES HER COMPANY? come the fuck on. like . this was an accident. but i fucking copied alora. the difference is alora is a thief and a halfling BUT ALSO THIEF HALFLING AFHIRI SOUNDS LIKE IT WOULD BE FUCKING AWESOME?? i hate this. i love this. i love alora so much i could SCREAM. here's some of her dialogue:

"Please be nicer. You don't want me to pick up any bad habits, do you?" "Hey, I think everyone would be happier if we were a little nicer!" "Isn't this great? ok thats a lot of dialogue. but. that's fucking afhiri. you see this too right. what the fuck happened here. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN HOW DID I DO THIS. anyway alora and afhiri are fucking soulmates too this is insane in fact i've lowkey not really canon but playfully so headcanoned that afhiri and alora are related like afhiri is a few generations down lmaooo it makes NO SENSE in canon cuz halfling.. tiefling.. but man its so funny. afhiri is bg3's alora

When asked about his past, Baeloth Barrityl, or "Baeloth the Entertainer" as he prefers to be called, claims to be a drow sorcerer of some repute. While he keeps some of his earlier exploits vague, he brags excessively about his most recent endeavor, the Black Pits. While it all ended in failure, he maintains that it was "the best show in all the realms." The circumstances of his defeat within the pits are unclear; he claims dishonesty on the part of his combatants was a key factor.

When asked about his past, GARRICK explains that he was part of a celebrated acting troupe called the Dale Wind Troubadours. They traveled the length of the coast from Neverwinter to Amn and often played to Dukes and other nobility. Indeed, few others could afford the cost of a performance when the group was at its peak. Garrick does not speak fondly of this time however, as the direction the group was taking left him dissatisfied with their conduct. He apparently discovered that performances were being used as distractions for thievery and declared he would have nothing to do with it. Rebuffed by his comrades, now he wishes simply to travel and play his music for those that will listen. He seems a bit young and naive, and a touch too ready to take the word of a stranger.

When asked about his past, EDWIN sneers that he has no intention of revealing such information and that it is none of your business. He further states that you are lucky enough to simply share his company, and then mutters something about leaving whenever he wishes. He obviously cares little for the camaraderie of others, and seems to take more pleasure in speaking to himself than in interacting with the party. His attire brazenly displays the colors of the Red Wizards of Thay, though why a member of that organization would come so far west is puzzling. Edwin does not seem forthcoming with any information.

the pair follow iraestra as she leads them down a quiet path. afhiri follows much like a pet on the heel of their master, sticking close as to not get lost in her momentary distractions, moments where she stops and stands and stares as something draws her attention. gale follows behind, with intent to bring afhiri back to focus whenever that happens.

gale keeps his voice low, constantly aware of how much attention he may draw to them as he speaks of the subjects at hand. "while i have not dabbled extensively in the darker side of the weave, i have no qualms with necromancy itself. no magic is inherently evil, and i quite respect your skills in the art of the dead." his words are honest. despite how much he may dislike the necromancer, he wouldn't ignore a wizards skill.

"it is the art of shadow. i am rather confident that i could excel at such magics, if mystra did not forbid it." he winces for a moment, a jerk reaction. just the thought alone of divulging excites him, but fills him with guilt all the same. to disobey mystra once was enough.

his brow furrows hard as she speaks of disrespect, "using shar's weave is a disrespect to mystra. if her eyes could reach here, i would imagine she would not be kind to you." gale has spoken with mystra on these matters in the past, he has questioned her rulings and her laws, to ask permission to touch where no other wizard could, to expand his horizons and be as no other, but she always denied him. if she could deny him while loving him, she would cut iraestra from the weave in a moment for touching the shadows.

"but what mystra doesn't know doesn't hurt her, i suppose."

Iraestra watches the little display with an amused tilt of her head. Ah, lovers then, if the cottoned voice and doe eyes are anything to go by. She tucks such information away in case she should have need of a soft spot to prod later on. The two of them certainly make for an interesting pair.

"Come," she beckons them when Afhiri has quite calmed herself. For now she avoids the main entrance hall, instead choosing to slip into a side corridor. The less attention they garner, the better. Iraestra has no desire to stop for idle chatter with any who may want to steal too many precious moments of her time with their inane needs. Especially should they have the bad luck to run into Ketheric himself.

— Ketheric. Even the thought of the name is enough to make her seethe. No, it would not be wise for her to meet him now, with betrayal burning so freshly in her gut.

"Am I the only necromancer in this world, then? Do we wizards suddenly find ourselves stripped of the ability to harness Her gifts the moment they open up a tome they shouldn't? When they form their tongues around 'forbidden' castings?" She fires off one rhetorical question after the next. It is a shame, that he proves himself to be so narrow-minded.

"There are many we mortals answer to — masters, gods, call them what you like. I do not disrespect Our Lady of Spells, I merely honor another. You have seen me cast, Gale of Waterdeep. Do I seem to have been punished for such?"

"I would be honored to invite another true scholar such as yourself to peruse my personal collection," she says neutrally. Her tone makes it difficult to discern whether the compliment is met or not. Honestly, the younger wizard amuses her. The tiefling may not have the good sense to distrust her, but this Gale of Waterdeep is clearly more cautious than his companion.

Consort? Lover? Iraestra is vaguely curious about the nature of their relationship, but it is no pressing concern to her. Afhiri will tell on themselves eventually, be it a slipped word or a gleeful declaration. They are alarmingly, stunningly honest. Iraestra is a little impressed that they have made it this far in life with all their limbs, tail included, intact.

Iraestra attempts not to laugh outright at his painfully probing question. Ah, subtly is not just lost on Afhiri, then. "If you ask if I would have squandered the opportunity beneath my nose to harness incredibly powerful magic, the answer is no. You are astute enough to realize that necromancy has its uses as an art; can the same not be said for all magic? Is the pursuit of knowledge for knowledge's sake not worthwhile?" She asks without any real care of the answer; his opinion of her only matters insofar as keeping her near Afhiri and the strange cube they share. Iraestra is endlessly curious about that, and not entirely too eager to lose the sense of self she only just recently gained again.

"If you come this way with me I may show you what I have found. Unless you are scared of what afraid of what I have found in the shadows?" Part taunt, part tease.

"lord thorm.." afhiri repeated under their breath. that's the bad guy.. right? "if you say so, irae!" they nodded along as iraestra spoke, but truth be told she didn't understand what was said to her. a library, sure, that one's obvious. but tomes on illithids? what's an illithid again?

as they stepped into the building, afhiri found themselves disappointed. all this excitement about the mighty moonrise towers and the power it holds, but the place looks like a dump, battered walls and cracked ceilings. not unlike their childhood home, a thought that crosses their mind. a huff leaving their lips, deflated shoulders and a dragged step follow.

ignoring afhiri's obvious demeanour shift, gale spoke. "i can't help but find myself fascinated by the prospect of seeing your collection of tomes, iraestra." his hand found its way to his mouth, as he thought for a moment. "and i would not be surprised to hear you have taboo subjects, if that were the case." he shot her a look, curiousity mixed with suspicion. he never suspected her to be in mystra's goodest of graces, but he tried to hold his judgement, and keep his distrust of her contained. while afhiri may trust iraestra, he could not.

"while necromancy is not inherently evil," he continued. "i certainly suspect you've dabbled your hands in other forms of magic. especially here," he waved his hand about. "the shadow must have been incredibly tempting." an eyebrow raised. "have you ever.. tried it?" a weak bait, but he doubts iraestra needs bait at all to confess her sins in the case of magical prowess, especially when it could be used to out-shine the evoker.

afhiri's face scrunches up as gale pokes at iraestra. and who's balthazar?
