Hello everyone to another Duck Bites. The food blog for food lovers and food from video game, movies and shows that people enjoy.
Today food we are cooking is from a recipe from the fallout cookbook called Vault Tec's Meaty Chili.... oh wait scratch that it's now Carol's Mystery meat stew from Fallout 4.
The ingredients are...
1 whole poblano pepper
1 large yellow bell pepper
1 large red bell pepper
1-2 onion (1 medium or 2 smalls)
Oil for the peppers/onion
Oil for the cooking part
1lb of beef
( it says 1lb of lamb meat in the book but if you don't like lamb or can't find it or can't afford it another pound of beef is good to substitue)
2 tsp of salt
1 tsp of B.pepper
2 1/2 TBSP ground Cumin
3TBSP chili powder
1 TBSP brown sugar
2TBSP ground coffee
1TBSP ground Fenugreek ( if you can't find in the local super market, either the authentic India markets or the internet is the best place to get them.)
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
4 cloves of garlic ( if small 5 cloves is good )
1 Jalapeño seeded and Diced
1 can of red beans ( you can add as much beans you like, it's up to you)
1 28 oz of Diced tomatoes canned
3 bay leaves.
Step 1. Turn your oven at 450 degrees, on a baking tray brush your peppers( not the Jalapeño) and onion in oil. Once your oven is at temp. Place the tray in the oven until its charred up. ( In culinary terms it's called Blister because your burning the skin so it will be easy to peel the skin.)
( If you have a Gas stove, skip this process and add them to the flames and let it blister)
Step 2. While that is Blistering, gather all your Mise en Place (means in French Everything it's in place. Its a Culinary term to organize and gather all your ingredients Instead of scrambling and messing up the recipe.)
( I got whole Fenugreek instead of powder, best thing to do is toast them like a minute or 2 and grind them up to have more intense flavors )
Step 3. Once your peppers and onions are done, place them in a bowl wrapping up a plastic wrap and poke wholes to let steam to get out. Wait for 30 minutes or their cool to the touch ( what your doing is creating steam, it's so hot inside that it's continuing to cook the flesh so they can be soft and tender instead of fully charing the whole peppers. This will make them a smoky taste to the dish. )
Step 4. Once the peppers and onions cool, the skin of the peppers are easy to peel out and the flesh be soft so it's easy to get the seed out. Chop everything up and place it back in the bowl.
Step 5. In a large bowl add oil and on a medium high heat add your meat and brown it.
Step 6. Add your spices and sauce in the pot and stir it up, add the veggies and combine that too as well. Lastly add the tomatoes, beans and bay leaf in the pot and combine everything. Cover with a lid on low and let it simmer for 5 hours.
( Don't forget to stir the pot )
Soooo at the end this was a MEEEEEHHHH type of dish. I added more salt and some bit of spice to it, even added some cheese and sour cream to buff the flavors. At the very end I hope yall enjoy and learn new terms of culinary words

Breakthrough Alert:
Stem Cell Therapy In A Capsule, Anyone?
It’s no secret how stem cell therapy has been known to effectively treat some illnesses but it hasn’t also been the easiest one to avail of. Now that it is available in a capsule form, this breakthrough is seen as a real game-changer.
Our health and wellness are priceless possessions that need to be taken care of.
However, illnesses and various other health conditions can threaten and impact the physical, emotional and financial well-being of an individual and his loved ones. Depending on the severity of the health condition, many people turn to different kinds of treatment including the unconventional ones. For some, stem cell therapy is considered as a “miracle treatment.”
As indicated in an FDA.gov article, stem cell therapies may offer the potential to treat a number of medical conditions and diseases for which few treatments exist. After all, stem cells are known as the body’s raw materials. Under the right conditions, these cells can regenerate and replace damaged cells. Though stem cell therapy appears to be effective in some treatments, it can be very expensive.
Recently, GFoxx International introduced an option called Elixir Placenta which is regarded as a “stem cell therapy in a capsule.” Made from New Zealand Deer Placenta, it combines the benefits of stem cell therapy, DNA therapy and anti-inflammatory therapy in one soft gel capsule.
But why a deer placenta? Studies show that the New Zealand deer placenta is closely similar to the human placenta. These animals from the southern island mountains of New Zealand, live and grow within pristine and pollution-free surroundings.
Here are some things to consider about the “stem cell therapy in a capsule” just in case you’re curious.
It offers treatment benefits for some health conditions. The combination of stem cell therapy, DNA therapy, and anti-inflammatory therapy has been utilized to treat conditions like arthritis, multiple sclerosis, heart attack, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and other chronic diseases.
It is made up of 14 high-quality ingredients. The capsule’s ingredients have been sourced from different countries and for the sake of transparency, these include the New Zealand Deer Placenta, Angelica Sinesis, grape and olive extract, D-Ribose, yeast extract, Squalene oil, MCT (medium-chain triglycerides), fermented red ginseng, rice bran oil, sea buckthorn oil, Rhodilola Rosea, Black currant seed oil, Fenugreek and Nigela seed oil.
It is considerably less expensive than flying out for stem cell therapy. According to research, a stem cell therapy can cost as much as P10 million pesos and that’s exclusive of airfare, lodging and miscellaneous expenses as some patients usually have to fly to the United States or Sweden to get it. Now that there is an option that comes in a capsule form, the treatment is made more accessible and affordable.
To know more about this capsule, visit of my store If you are considering any form of stem cell therapy, make sure that any supplement or medicine is FDA-approved and learn about the regulations that cover products in the country. As with any other treatments, be properly informed, practice caution and ask for advice from medical experts before proceeding.
Live long and live healthy!

Hair loss is a common concern for many people, regardless of age or gender. While genetics, stress, and lifestyle choices are often at the root of the issue, the good news is that there are natural remedies that can help combat hair loss and promote healthy growth. In this blog, we will explore various natural treatments for hair loss, their effectiveness, and how they can complement medical treatments such as those offered by the best dermatologist for hair loss in Bangalore. Let’s dive in!

A Simple Handova
Handova is a delicious Gujarati cuisine that can be enjoyed as a snack or a meal. Made with a fermented mixture of lentils, rice, and veggies with a dash of green chillies, ginger, mustered, and cumin. In this blog, we’ll see the step-by-step process used by the exporter of sunflower oil to make handova.
Ingredients
Moong dal - ½ cup soaked
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Tuvar dal - 1 tbsp
Rice - 1 tbsp
Garlic cloves chopped - 1 tsp
Ginger chopped - 1t sp
Green chillies chopped - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
Fenugreek seeds - 5
Grated and tightly packed bottle gourd - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Coriander powder - ½ tsp
Coriander leaves chopped - ¼ tsp
Sesame seeds for topping
Curry leaves chopped - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder
Curd - ½ cup
Baking soda - ¼ tsp
Salt as required
Oil as required
Method
In a bowl, add the rice, moon dal, tuvar dal, and urad dal, and rinse it a couple of times. Add chana dal to it if needed.
Once rinsed thoroughly, soak it in water for 5 hours.
Strain the soaked dal, add it to a blender, and add the curd.
Blend it until you get semolina consistency. If it is difficult, blend it in batches and do not add water.
Now remove the batter, add baking soda, and mix well.
Cover it and let the batter ferment for 9 hours or overnight. The batter will have a faint sour aroma or tiny bubbles the next day.
Grind the ginger, garlic, and green chilies.
In a kadai, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add mustard seeds to it. Once it crackles, add 5–6 fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Once it is cooked, add ground ginger, garlic, and green chilli paste.
Let the raw aroma go away, and add the grated bottle gourd. Add the coriander and turmeric powder and mix well.
Switch off the flame and add the coriander leaves and tempered mixture to the batter.
Add the required salt.
Now spread oil in the pan and keep it on low flame.
Pour 2 ladles of handvo batter into the pan and gently shake it so that it spreads evenly in the pan. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat.
When the sides are golden, gently flip them using a spatula.
Cook until you find golden spots.
Remove from the heat and serve with coriander chutney.

CHEF ILONA: VEGGIE PAKORAS
Pakoras are a delicious traditional snack in India, typically made with a batter of chickpea flour and spices fried in oil. They can be made with various vegetables or meats and are often served with a dipping sauce.
What are fenugreek leaves and what do they taste like?
If you're wondering what gives Butter Chicken that distinct flavor, then this is it! Dried Fenugreek Leaves have a slightly bitter and earthy taste compared with celery, and a sweet finishing kick similar to the taste of maple syrup. (Surprisingly, fenugreek extract is often used to flavour artificial maple syrup).
What is Desi Besan
Besan or gram flour is made by grinding split brown chickpeas (chana dal) into a fine powder. Besan has a less bitter flavor profile than garbanzo flour. It works great in recipes where the flour might not always get fully cooked/roasted, or used for crispiness.
Here's a quick roundup of how pakoras are made:
Preparation of Ingredients: The main ingredient (vegetables like potatoes, onions, spinach, cauliflower, or eggplant; paneer; or meat) is cut into bite-sized pieces.
Batter Making: A batter is prepared using chickpea flour mixed with water to form a thick, smooth paste. Spices and herbs like cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and sometimes fresh green chilies and cilantro are added to the batter for flavor.
Coating and Frying: The prepared ingredients are dipped into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated, and then deep-fried until they are golden brown and crispy.
Serving: Pakoras are typically served hot with chutneys like mint-coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, or one of my favourite sauces, curry mayo. I usually make my own- a little mayo, yogurt if you have it on hand, lemon juice, garlic, madras curry powder and a little sriracha sauce.
My recipe is a plant-based recipe and makes use of affordable vegetables readily available on PEI.
Vegetable Pakoras
6 cups vegetables, shredded (1 cabbage, 1 onion, 1bunch kale (leaves only), 2-3 carrots)
1 ½ cups besan
½ cup rice flour
2 jalapenos, seeded, small dice
1 cup cilantro, chopped
½ cup mint, chopped
¼ cup ginger, grated
3 Tbsp Garam Masala
3 Tbsp Fenugreek
2 Tbsp Black Mustard Seed
2 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
Salt to taste
Enough ice water to bring together a tight batter; approximately 1-1 ½ cups.
Stir all ingredients to combine. Drop small spoonfuls into oil heated to 350C. Deep fry the pakoras until the vegetables are cooked and the batter is golden brown.
Gobble these crispy treats with reckless abandon!

I dug even deeper to rethink the Sushi Salaam which will be featured in the United Nations sustainable food book cooking and writing late into the night with invaluable help fromYordanka and Pierre.
Here’s a sneak peak at part of the recipe, and a late night snap shot.
Every little thing that we do, makes all the difference in the world. It’s because of you, I can cook to make a difference.
This recipe features ingredients of Iran and it’s neighboring regions such as pistachios and pomegranate seeds; and fresh herbs and spices used to make a Persian stew called Ghormeh Sabze, whose history goes back a thousand years.
“As-salāmu alaykum” is a greeting that translates to “peace be upon you” in Farsi and Arabic. I created this recipe for my 2016 White House Champion of Change Award for Sustainable Seafood during a time when the number of assaults against Muslims in the United States was surging.
For well over a millennia, the cultures of the Middle East have achieved groundbreaking advancements in the arts, literature, science, medicine, economics, architecture, and religion. Rumi, the Persian mystic who crafted one of the world’s greatest collections of poetry would certainly have dined on Ghormeh Sabze, 700 years ago. My recipe, Sushi Salaam, incorporates tastes and aromas that must have permeated the air as Rumi composed some of the greatest love poems ever-written.
Sushi Salaam was created in defiance to the prejudice, bigotry, and racism represented by Islamophobia in the United States. I created this sushi recipe inspired by flavors of Middle East that I intermingled with others that I was familiar with from my own culture. This unusual combination of ingredients created a tasty harmony that symbolizes the peace that can exist between people of different cultures, in the hope that one day we all will live in a world without hatred and retribution.
I chose to include this recipe—which contains no seafood—for The White House Sustainable Seafood Award dinner which I curated because humanity’s assault on itself is inexorably connected to its assault on the earth, oceans, and all the creatures that they give life.
SUSHI RICE
The most convenient way to cook rice is by using an electric rice cooker. Don’t buy a fancy rice cooker. The simplest and most affordable one will do the job. Sometimes, you can find personal 2 to 3 cup rice cookers at the thrift shop for just a few dollars and what a find that is! If you don’t have a cooker, just use a little pot with a cover on your stove top.
At Miya’s, I don’t make traditional sushi rice because it requires the use of lots of sugar, and the over-consumption of sweeteners has been a major contributor to the pandemic of diet-related diseases. Furthermore, my sushi rice—that’s inspired by multi-grain, whole-grain breads—taste better than the sweet sushi rice that we’re accustomed to.
BEANS
Rice and beans are a traditional coupling of ingredients in many places around the world because they taste great together while providing all the amino acids to form a compete protein. So, if you have grains and legumes in your diet, you don’t need to be eating animals for your dietary protein requirements. The human appetite is the most destructive force on Earth. Humans have eaten other species to extinction for tens of thousands of years. Eating plants instead of animals will nudge humankind to live in a way that’s less violent and destructive, both towards other living things and to itself. As long as humans continue to systematically abuse animals (and humans) through cruel and depraved factory farms and unsustainable fishing and hunting practices, there will be no peace on Earth because violence always begets violence.
DO IT YOUR IT YOUR OWN WAY
The Sushi Salaam recipe is intended to be malleable like wet clay. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the ingredients. Just improvise and in your hands the Sushi Salaam will become something more wonderful than I could have ever imagined.

Beltane: The Special Quarantine Edition
Beltane is the Celtic sabbat of fertility, celebrated from sunset on April 30th to sunset on May 1st, meant to mark the full flush of spring and the rising heat of summer. Beltane has its roots in how ancient Celts worshipped a solar deity named Bel, and celebrated his victory over the darkness of winter. In many pagan, duotheistic religions such as Wicca, Beltane recognizes a God (the Green Man, the Oak King, Jack in the Green), and Goddess (May Queen, May Bride, Flora). Beltane is the final consummation of the God and Goddess, who have been courting since the first stirrings of spring. Their union invokes summer and all its bounty. This sabbat is traditionally centered around fertility, represented by flowers, phallic/yonic imagery, and fire. I personally believe in queering up these traditions and celebrating the powers of creation in less cishet ways - honoring the cycles of the land and seasons, but using less literal interpretations of God/Godess and binary/gendered genitalia, etc. Beltane is also the halfway point to Samhain, a twin sabbat that shares the same thinness of the veil between the world of the tangible and the intangible, physical and spiritual. Magic is powerful at this time, but it also means taking more steps for personal protection while practicing magic, and it’s a good time to ward against unfriendly spirits or energy.
Consider the following correspondences when setting up you altar, making an offering, or doing spellwork! Deities: Bel, Cernunnos, Flora, Brigid, Dagda, Xōchiquetzal, Dionysus, Demeter, Persephone, Amun, Bastet, Isis, Inanna, Astarte, Freyja, Freyr (avoided added ones from cultures that have been and are still actively worshipped to this day to the best of my knowledge, such as Kokopelli, as opposed to “dead” religions that have neo-pagan revivals) Colors: green, white, light pink, blue, and yellow Herbs: Honeysuckle, St John’s Wort, rose, lilac, oak, dandelion, hawthorn, foxglove, clover, violet, mint, thyme, mugwort, almond leaves, rowan, marigold, daisies, and lavender. But we’re quarantined, so you can use herbs/flowers from tea sachets, or even fake flowers! If you have some flowers blooming nearby and really need something, only take a tiny amount so that pollinators can have the rest (or better, take naturally fallen flowers. The good intent for the environment goes a long way with the gods and nature). Incense: Frankincense, jasmine, rose, lavender, patchouli, vanilla. No incense? A scented candle is fine, or essential oil on a warmer! Or make a stovetop potpourri with tea bags or vanilla extract! Food: Grain foods like oats and wheat (bannock/bread, oatcakes, oatmeal), honey, salad greens, strawberries, cherries, rhubarb (COOK THAT SHIT OR IT’LL KILL YOU THOUGH), eggs, cheese, and any aphrodisiacs such as chocolate, pistachios, oysters, asparagus, and hot chiles (and cook with aphrodisiac herbs such as fenugreek and saffron). Even a bowl of cereal works! The gods understand that you’re quarantined, and as always in magic: where there is a will, there is a way. Drink: Honeyed milk (dairy or non-dairy), mead, rosewater, herbal teas like jasmine tea, white wine, alcoholic beverages made with egg Altar symbols: cauldron (often filled with and surrounded by flowers), candles, mirrors, floral wreaths, ribbons
Potent Magic on this Sabbat:
Sex magic – Beltane is the premiere sabbat for celebrating sex – therefore, it’s the perfect time to practice sex magic. This can be done through solo sex or partnered sex (whether involving physical contact with a partner or joining intentions together across distance)! Sex magic can be results-oriented or practiced as a kind of “mysticism”. Sex magic practiced for manifesting a specific result keeps in tradition with Beltane, as the Celts were believed to have used sexual ritual on Beltane as a way to increase crop yields for the year. As it goes with all types of magic, everyone practices sex magic differently. In my practice, I use it as a way to simply increase my personal power, strengthen a magical bond with a partner, or exchange energy with a partner to gift each other our qualities and talents for a period of time (this is strengthened through repeated practice with the same partner). With partnered sex magic, be sure not only to have your usual consent talk, but also a consent talk about the ritual/magical aspect. This is not only because consent must always be informed and your partner may not be comfortable with having sex this way; it also ensures that your intentions are aligned and that energy exchange is balanced (otherwise, the manifestation might not succeed as you’d like, or one partner may be left feeling drained or otherwise unfulfilled). I can attach links to resources or write a little more in-depth about my personal experience if you are comfortable with that!
Fire magic - Using flame of some sort in your rituals is especially powerful right now! This can mean using fire in rituals to manifest a goal, such as burning a scrap of paper that you’ve written your intention on. I tend to stretch this definition to include heat, such as charming my tea as I add hot water to my tea sachet, or making magical stovetop potpourri. In my seiðr magic, I often stare into flames to achieve a trance state. I can write more about using fire for trance and divination as well!
Ecstatic dance - Pretty self-explanatory! Ecstatic dance can be used as a form of worship, manifestation, or simply for inducing a trance or “shamanic” state, depending on your personal beliefs and practices. If you are celebrating Beltane with others, one participant can use an instrument such as a drum for the others to dance to. Otherwise, playing music from speakers or headphones is fine as well! The important thing is to either focus on your intention, or clear your head and let the music bring you to a trance state. I can also send links to good resources for practicing ecstatic dance,
Spellwork: - Glamours - Divination (especially with mirrors!) - Protection - Spells to increase libido and creative powers - Manifestation/increase - Blessings for self-love - Blessings for partners and relationships
If you’d like ideas for spells, charms, and enchantments involving these subjects, let me know! I have some good ones in my grimoire.
Activites:
Decorating a Maypole – This tradition involves “maidens” (but literally whomever, fuck the binary fr) dancing and weaving around a pole while holding ribbons that had been fastened to the top, creating a beautifully woven pattern of ribbons down the structure. Don’t have a 20-ft pole to wrap copious amounts of ribbon around? Decorate a small stick with whatever ribbon-like materials you have about, and put it on your altar or centrally in your home!
Washing your face in morning dew – Not really something we can do in Phoenix, unless you are planning on camping somewhere north overnight! A good substitute is using water charged under the moon, or even just water purified with a spell or purifying crystals. I like draw a bath and purify the water, and focus on cleansing my energy while I take the bath.
Making a bonfire – This is especially difficult to achieve in quarantine. Just having a fire in the fireplace or a simple candle burning is enough! Traditionally on this day, all other fires would be put out save the community’s special Beltane bonfire, but turning off all of your other lights is just fine! Many Beltane traditions involve leaping over the bonfire/candle… I don’t really recommend this, because, you know, getting set on fire.
Handfasting and jumping over a broomstick – Probably highly irrelevant for most, but Beltane is traditionally a time of many marriages. Couples become handfasted when the officiant ties their hands together with a cord, usually woven from three ribbons, usually as the couple take their vows or exchange their declarations of love and devotion. Many couples would jump over a broom as well, to signify the leap from one stage of life to the next (this tradition was borne from couples being unable to afford formal ceremonies, and at one time leaping over a broom together could be seen as legally binding a couple in marriage).
Fertilize – If you have a garden or even a small plant, tend to it witch extra care! Fertilizing is recommended for a Beltane activity, but if your plant would suffer from being fertilized right now, don’t do it. Just speak encouraging words to your plant!
Explore your property – If you have the energy, explore around the outside of your home, or even just make some studied observations of your home interior. It’s your “land”, and it’s a good time to walk around and offer blessings and gratitude to your environment. If you’re able to drive somewhere deeper into nature, it’s a good time to go out and revel in the vibrant life being created all around us. As a Norse pagan, I personally make offerings to the landvættir (roughly, nature spirits) of the desert whenever I go out into nature to thank it.
Make special Beltane recipes! – Such as bread (I’m baking an iced lavender loaf myself), salads with berries, honeyed oatcakes, egg custard, an herb-y chicken stew, etc.
