Hypnospace Outlaw is well worth checking out if you grew up in the 90s and early 2000s! This and Paradise Killer! Both super underrated gems! They are both beasts (and beats, lol :P) of nostalgia!

The outest most quote is me btw those are my words. Hypnospace Outlaw is an incredible game and a huge inspiration to me in terms of design and storytelling and music. Go buy it and support the development of the sequel!

We all have that ONE character in a show/game/book that we project really hard onto. Like you want them to be happy and healthy but you also want them to suffer and get a recovery arc because its a really safe way to deal with your own trauma.

And from what I've seen so far, that said character is any of the following:

Done dirty by certain creators (people who work with the actual canon)

Hated by a majority of in-story characters

Hated by half the people who indulge in the story

Creators try their best to make said character more hated than the actual villain/antagonist of the story DESPITE the fact that they haven't done WORST THAN said villain/antagonist

Often portrayed by other characters as "Worse than the devil themselves", again, DESPITE not doing as much damage as their foils/actual villain of the peace

Was given the chance to show that they have the ability to change only for the creators to spit in their face

Is shown to be an abuse survivor/trauma keeper
