Dan Heng redesign/AU

He is a vidyadhara child, normally kids like him retain some core personality traits and faint memories of their previous incarnation, but because he was forcefully kept in his egg for too long the rebirth circle was broken and he came out nothing like his predecessor, even looking quite different. Some may say he is more like a son than an reincarnation of the vidyadhara that came before him.

Because of the crimes his "father" committed, he was to be forever kept inside the egg by protective spells of the Xianzhou Luofu's Divination Commission, but at the time very new and green Fu Xuan who was literally assigned to the job a day before messed up the spell and accidentally let him out.

Despite the broken reincarnation cycle, numerous markings on his body from the protective spell, and almost complete lack of hearing, he came out relatively fine and healthy, even quite sturdy for his constitution.

He is completely deaf in the right ear and has some usable hearing in his left ear. Sometimes he uses a hearing aid, communicates mostly in sign, and has a little service dog that alerts him of hazards he might not hear. The dog's name is Pom Pom, and it's been like a little mascot of the astral express since Dan Heng boarded.

March and Stelle treat him like a little brother, which he isn't very happy about. While he is a child in terms of the vidyadhara growth cycle, in factual age, he is probably older than both of them combined. Nobody takes that argument seriously, though. A kid is still a kid and is very squishy-cute.

Instead of doing another redesign, I decided to extend on my own AU with the final form of the Nightmare King. This is the Nightmare God, the most powerful form of the Nightmare King. Basically in my AU, the Nightmare King consumes the Void after the Knight defeats him in the dream realm. Having no power left to take on his mortal Grimm form, He crawls his way to safety in the Ancient Basin, eventually falling down into the Abyss, where he becomes one with the Void. The nightmare flames of his form fused with the Void, giving him limitless power.

Like the Radiance and the Pale King, the Nightmare God is a Higher Being, almost the same as a Pale Being. But instead of being a Pale Being, the Nightmare God is an Infernal Being, a creature born of flames, void, and sin. They cannot die, but in exchange for their immortality, they lose their mind. Much like the Vessels, Infernal Beings have no true will, other than their innate hunger for the souls of bugs and the scarlet nightmare flames.

I quite like writing my own lore! It gives me the opportunity to experiment with designs and characters that already exist. I feel as if my series of redesigns have improved how I approach character designs.

But anyways-

I'm hoping to add to my lore as I design more characters!

why are so many people hating on the chaos redesign... it's so pretty and story relevant!

"too different from the first game" Chaos is a deity of rebirth and transformation. a drastic change is to be expected, and there are many common themes connecting the two looks.

"too human-like" Chaos spent aeons alone in their realm and only started interacting with the other deities in the first game, first in the form of Zag's visits and then reconnecting with Nyx. they were curious about these other beings so emulating them a bit in their newest form seems fitting.

"too feminine-presenting" people were casually he/himming Chaos because they skip the dialogue, don't pay attention, or are intentionally being shitty about nonbinary identities. the new design helps with at least some of this.

alright i know lots of folks don’t love the chaos redesign and some folks are saying they look like meg which like i get, esp with the singular wing but to me? they look like Nyx. they look like they molded their new appearance in the image of their daughter, who they’ve recently reconnected with after aeons of separation. like they have not just emotionally become more the parent of Nyx, but physically mirrored this parenthood, this embodied connection, by choice

class doodles + notes! i have thought about this deeply and extensively (the hour and half that is my programming lecture)

the og design and a low detail bobo and kimi + my attempt at crossover worldbuilding (i am not a writer. i don’t think this makes any sense story wise. like i picked aeon as the archon for apple at first but he is so blue and water themed and i refuse to NOT make cloud the hydro nation but he is not from cloud. guess who’s not blue? desire. i think there are better fits for most of the archons i picked i just don’t know who.)

- shade got his vision when he was flynn. hc that it doesn’t respond to him since he’s changed he just uses guns now. non magic ppl with a gun in magic universe are my favorite thing

- lilith qin yi and zhu yuxian need to stop burning down buildings

- a lot of characters are omitted actually because i can’t pick an element for them. but reid doesn’t get a vision he’s just some guy

Sorry for uhh.. not really posting much art, I have NOT had the energy to really do anything because of some things. And I’ve been more fixated on HSR recently.

BUT!! I did redesign my HSR OC while procrastinating to finish the recent mission, so that’s a bonus I think.

Downside is I never want to see another banana or monkey ever again after that. I don’t want to even eat a banana ever again.

Faris isn’t sure of his origins other than being created by the Aeon of Beauty according to legends that have spread throughout the universe for centuries.

The Knights of Beauty hold Faris in high regards, and a few members have always tried to track him down to serve him. This is due to the rumors that have spread throughout the cosmos; although modern Knights have no lasting proof that he was created by the Aeon of Beauty, they blindly believe it to keep their faith in Idrila alive.

Unbeknownst to most, he is an Emanator of the Aeon of Abundance. He isn’t sure of Yaoshi’s reasoning for gazing upon him, but he likes to believe that it’s so he can see Idrila again, if THEY are even still alive in the first place. Although, it’s led to him feeling trapped between the Abundance and the Beauty; an experience he jokingly describes as “being stuck in a cosmic custody battle”.

Diamond, the highest ranking member of the Ten Stonehearts, offered Faris “protection and more” if he joined the IPC. Faris agreed to the deal, but only because he was unaware that the organization intended to use his Emanator abilities to their advantage.

Being a well known director across the cosmos constantly searching for inspiration, it’s no shock that Faris and Mr. Reca have crossed paths a few times. The legends surrounding Faris have intrigued the man greatly, so much to the point that he keeps requesting for Faris to be the star in one of his films.

But unbeknownst to Faris, the Memokeeper is more interested in him than in his memories. That doesn’t mean Mr. Reca isn’t interested in those as well, though. The Director’s secondary goal is to search Faris’ memories for any that capture his attention.

While the main purpose of his journey is to find the Aeon of Beauty, Argenti is also on a quest to track down Faris after hearing the rumors about his supposed identity and origins.

However, Argenti isn’t tracking down Faris to serve him like the rest of the Knights; he believes Faris to be Idrila’s reincarnation instead of creation, so he desires nothing more than to receive Blessings and Recognition from Faris. He is unaware of the man being an Emanator of the Abundance.

He is immune to Mara, due to being an artificial creation. The only symptom he shows is having memory problems, but not as severe as normal Mara-struck.

He refers to Idrila as his Mother and Father. He refers to Yaoshi as these things too, and he obviously favors The Abundance when using them.

For you dilf likers or whatever. He raised a young Knight at one point shortly after becoming an Emanator. He outlived her, though. He cherishes the memories of her more than anything. Faris even has a huge soft spot for children. He’s 100% a good dad

white hair that fades into dark grey

eyes are always closed, because the halo of eyes behind them are their actual eyes

no uterus, only the entire galaxy, it's visible even through their clothes

the hem of their dress fades into the shadow

their human form (depicted above) is 10ft tall

they know everything, and i mean everything

they are the deity of life and creation, as oppose to the supposed deity of death and misery (aka my irl's oc :D)

though their titles can be used interchangeably when both of them are bored

Another design I did for the "Redesign some Kid's Monsters" RMN event. iCore is a robot powered by, well, iCore, a mysterious substance that when bathed in lowers the target's defense by a significant amount. Ichor is said to be the golden blood of Olympians, aeons who rule over the world of Arboria. iCore is a mechanaloid powered by this substance, made from multiple repurposed Ybox Series Y consoles and wielding a variety of weapons including an ichor flamethrower, a "time gun" that freezes whoever it shoots into suspended animation for a limited amount of time, an ichor twin barrel shotgun, and a claw arm.

SD25 - Royalty Gevurah

Smaugust Day 25: Royalty [ 2023 ] This is Gevurah, an Fire/Sky* Legendary Fakemon. It is the Risesky Aeon Pokemon, part of a series of nine legendaries known as Aeons. I'll admit it's more of a phoenix than a dragon, but a future redesign may give it more draconic elements. Plus, I heavily associate birds with dragons anyway. In my canon, most of the normal Legendaries don't exist. It's a totally new pantheon of Pokegods, so there is no Ho-Oh, giving room for another phoenixlike Legendary. Honestly though, I've never really liked Ho-Oh all that much. It looks kind of awkward, and I wanted something that could capture the majesty of a phoenix better. Gevurah is also known as the Risen King, hence royalty. [*Flying - I changed the name of the type in my canon.] [Smaugust is an art challenge in August where one must draw one dragon a day.]
