I NEED to have it addressed in fic form that the Rise turtles are fundamentally different than all their other counterparts, because their counterparts? They were accidents. Just a couple of turtles splashed with mutagen and oh look now they’re people but Green. (Huge oversimplification I’m aware but hear me out okay-)

But the Rise boys were created. They were specifically designed to be weapons of mass destruction. They were built with the intent to cause harm which means they were bioengineered to be stronger, smarter(?), faster, to heal quicker, to have the capacity to take hard hits while dishing out even harder ones, they were literally forged with a purpose to kill.

Add on their mystic powers? Then their unlocked Ninpo? You can’t honestly tell me that these four aren’t the strongest and potentially deadliest version of themselves out there.

Yes they still had to learn things, as did the other iterations, they weren’t immediately good (that much is obvious, like c’mon it’s IN the name) but I don’t think the other iterations possess the same instincts as these guys do. They’re just so. Unhinged. They’ve all had their moments in the show I think where it’s obvious they’re not really,,, stable. I love them.

In a plain fists only, maybe weapons, no powers fight, I do think some of the other iterations would win, but purely because they have way more experience than these guys do. (If I did any crossovers I’d say 2003 and 2012 are definitely older than these guys, especially if we’re basing this at the end of their shows) But put them against each other when they’re still at the same level? Rise is whooping butt, I know where I’m placing my bets. It’s called RISE of the TMNT for a reasonnnnnn they’re not there yet but they WILL BE, and as of the end of s2 and the movie I say they’re finally THERE.

The Hunter’s Bible also by TurtleSoupSwimmer [2/2 chapters, 15k words] Rated Mature, contains themes of SA and c@nnibalism so PLEASE keep that in mind!! Not a fic for the faint of heart this is a Dead Dove: Do Not Eat! The SA is only attempted, and never shown, only implied, and it’s only in ch 1, but the other stuff is fairly descriptive and takes place in ch 2. All that being said, flipping UNHINGED, just about lost my mind in ch 2, it was entertaining in a surreal kinda way if you get what I mean. Funky little feral creatures

Also Poseidon!!!! He is...a weird guy. I'm thinking of what I can say that wouldn't spoil a potential comic.

He's very obsessed with the idea of being immortal and making others immortal. He doesn't want to be alone at any cost. He's always testing what potions he can create and their effects and well. often times it lead to mutations on others that he then observes.

Poseidon doesn't...Liiike to 'hurt' others in his view of hurting someone, but he will if it threatens his ideals. Unless it's mobs. he doesn't care about them at all.

Like A Word, A Sound, A Song by aenor_llelo. It's a steven universe fic that i've recently started and im loving it so far, the worldbuilding is really good and just the writing in general is very enjoyable

Drawn Out by Purpledragon6. It's basically venomous and boxman talking 'parenting' after We're Captured. A bit short but it really feels like i'm watching a scene from the show, and i have a thing for fics that fill in the gaps from the canon

I love the concept of elytras as parasites that live in direct symbiosis with Elytrians... Like they are living organisms that learned to live with a species that directly helps them feed, etc., and by allowing them flight in a world where you need some sort of device or anatomy for airborne, long distance travel - they're the perfect choice for the host. It's also a relationship, almost. I imagine an Elytrian could have some subconscious/mental communication with their Elytra - sense its distress, etc..

This would also mean that Elytrians initially don't have feathers/features that mark them as such - they're pretty much bare when young, and the older they get and the longer they live on with their Elytras the more they look like these old travellers' books depictions everyone has seen. Their skin gains dark markings all over the body, especially at the parts where the Elytra connects with its host, new appendages maybe grow (such as earwings, tails - maybe the organism figures out what will help with achieving best flight performance possible)

And the Elytrian culture stemming from this - how probably meeting your Elytra and finding the one your organism will be a perfect match with is a sacred ritual, something really respected and never meant to be interrupted. Maybe it's dangerous, if not done under the right conditions? How does a wild Elytra behave? Are they just living, breathing animals or much more conscious that we might think? This symbiosis is something that has been done for centuries, so there's no question in both parties being aware of each others' purpose on something more than just logic - it's ingrained in their baser instincts.

This hc is also the case where I really like to dive into much less feathered depictions of Elytras and making them more void and creature-like in appearance to really create that rift between just wings and a symbiote that aids you.

ath: Have i ever expanded upon Mae (& possibly Rothena) being able to hear a person's music (medic's theme, pearl's piano, greg's guitar) that isn't acknowledged or heard in-universe?

ath: Okay so basically my hc is that every place, living thing, person, etc, has its own music, the complexity/max amount of parts of the music reflecting the complexity of its owner's mind! And gems can hear this, maybe even tailor it to communicate or use as a form of etiquette to each other, and this is my in-universe explanation for why the gems burst out into song! Perhaps singing was reserved for balls or certain elite gems or only gems like Pearls or that disco ball gen we saw in Together Alone, & all the cgs using it is a form of rebellion! And Mae and Steven, as half-gems, can hear it, but they kinda have to concentrate to hear it, unless it's very..not loud, not bright or intense as in tone but in terms of being noticeable? So Steven can use it to determine mood, Mae can use it to entertain herself around her loved ones just by listening to it, and Rothena can try to use it to detect Spies (bc their motif stays the same altho their instruments may change as they disguise, or their instruments stay the same while the motif changes?), all three half-gems hum or sing along to the music they hear, and describe it to ppl that can't hear it sometimes!!
