Prototype of cyberpunk anime Akira Sega Genesis video game surfaces

Prototyped by Black Pearl Software before cancellation, the game quietly disappeared for decades, until, as the Daily Dot reports, the prototype showed up online. This digital version, released by Hidden Palace, who specializes in this sort of thing, is a lengthy video showing off the play of this unfinished version of the game, which is fairly expansive—enough to clock in at an hour’s length, even in its unfinished state. And what a thing it is. The play is changeable in what we see, with platforming, first-person sections, some good old fashioned psychic fisticuffs as Tetsuo. But what’s really compelling here is the style, the way even in this prototype Black Pearl Software manages to capture the visual and aesthetic style of the source material. It really looks like Akira in 16-bit. The sewers are right. The city streets. That motorcycle. Developed by Black Pearl Software sometime in late 1993 for a planned released in 1995, this game attempted to do a faithful adaptation of the original film by presenting various key scenes from the film in unique ways. The game features first person shooting, racing, platforming, and beat-em up segments to help illustrate the various points in the movie's story. Did Alexander ever build a palace for himself? If he didn’t, then why? Thank you so much in advance!

Alexander didn't need to.

First, his father Philip had already substantially enlarged the Pella Palace. At the time, it was the largest free-standing structure in all of Greece. There was also the old traditional palace at Aigai. So Alexander would have had no reason to make any changes, never mind that he was in Macedonia only 2 years before leaving to never return.

Then he was fighting for most of his time in Persia. There were already a number of palaces there, scattered all over, many with historic importance. Famously, he burned Persepolis as a sort of "mission accomplished" message back home to Greece (and in Persia, as well). He seemed to have had no intention of using Persepolis. But both Susa and Babylon already had palaces, as did Ekbatana. And he had the Persian king's Ginormous royal tent on the road. (Never mind the various palaces or royal residences in the big cities of various satrapies.)

The one place he might have built a palace would have been Alexandria. It was a brand new city, so it didn't have one. However, it would take decades for Alexandria to rise to real habitability. Eventually, it did become the capital of the Ptolemaic Empire, with a palace, and I suspect Alexander would have made it his western capital (with Babylon as the eastern). Yet it's hard to know how much the Ptolemaic palace reflects any intentions Alexander might have had in designs for the structure.
