I don't think i've ever seen a thriller that beats the absolute horror i experienced after watching queen for a day for the first time (not that i've seen that many thrillers bcs im far too caught up in shows like this).
It doesn't help that they got rid of the cute and fun outro music and i had to stare in horror at my own reflection on the computer screen with a scary instrumental playing in the background.

Daindreths Assasin Series -Daindreths Traitor- Live Review part 8
This series is really... realistic. It's definitely more of an adventure novel, and it could have been a completely different series if she was loyal to Daidreth without loving him and vice versa if he respected her without loving her. I'll be honest, their love seems to serve no purpose. It's just... there. I think the series could have been a stronger story if it focused on building their friendship before making them lovers. Well, there's one reason, the reason she restrains the demon, but that's more of a hopeful 'solution' that doesn't actually get rid of the demon. It's a gamble.

✩🪐🌪️Review:
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review
A romantic sci-fi adventure that will make your heart race and flutter!
“Into the Churn” follows Ezren Hart as she enters her planet’s deadly and most lucrative race in hopes of saving her mother’s terraforming lab. Her partner and veteran racer Foster Sterling has reasons of his own for partaking in Belthea’s Race Royale: to uncover the truth behind the death of his former teammate. It’s a race against time to the finish line, but they can’t outrun the mysterious string of accidents befalling them or the spark that ignites between them.
Admittedly science-fiction isn’t my cup of tea because I can easily become overwhelmed by abstract concepts, but I’m so glad I decided to branch out with this book because it is just so fun! I was immediately swept up in Chow’s Casolla system from the very first page. Through Ezren’s point-of-view the reader is organically introduced to Belthean customs and traditions, including slang unique to those who inhabit the planet and the race royale. The stakes are high for both Ezren and Foster with savage and volatile storms being a part of the course they have to navigate. The added threat of other racers sabotaging their competition paired with the elements of mystery and fast pacing made it so that there was never a dull moment!
With so much on the line I also couldn’t help but root for both Ezren and Foster to be the first to finish and was desperate to see their relationship take off. This book is advertised as a slow burn and while I wouldn’t say that is the case, I really enjoyed watching their feelings for each other grow from both of their perspectives. The inclusion of the fake dating trope pushes Ezren and Foster to spend more time together as part of a publicity stunt until the line between what is pretend and what is real begins to blur. I couldn’t get enough of their chemistry!

Being asked to stay, with a please and an option for refusal, hit me almost as hard as a human asking for my opinion and actually listening to me.

Daindreths Assasin Read Along Book 1 Final
Okay so what you're telling me is that they're not allowed to have their happy ending yet even though it's the epilogue and they should be allowed something more than progress. Well done, Elizabeth Wheatley. Curse you for this, but well done.
I both love and hate cliffhangers between books. On the one hand, good job giving me content that makes me want more and then giving more, but also curse you for not tying up the loose ends. I know that's not very patient of me, but there's a reason I named myself the Greedy Bookwyrm. I want to hoard books, devour an unreasonable number of books, and I'm always hungry for more books with no patience to wait for them. It suited me to name myself after a bookworm and a teenage dragon (they're 'wyrms' for the first hundred years or so of their life. Great fit for the human lifespan).
Daindreths Assasin was a solid story and an enjoyable romance novel, though I feel some parts of the plot could have been resolved with something other than romance, romance books sell and I get that. I also admire Elizabeth Wheatleys marketing for her book- even wrote a paper that included her as one of the marketers I admired in college. I'll see if I can find it sometime.
I was frustrated with the ending in a good way. It felt like the end of a season in a long running beloved TV show. I'm desperate for the next episode because I simply must know where she takes it next, when all the power growth seems to be capped out but the main pain point of the plot hasn't gone anywhere. And I want to see those lovebirds happy. They had shared like, two kisses. Beautiful, well timed kisses, but two kisses. Curse you again Elizabeth Wheatley.
I will be purchasing the sequel and live reviewing it next Thursday and Friday, posting the review on Saturday. Join me next week if you'd like to see more live reviews, or even if you don't. If you've read this far, I've got your attention, and it is mine, and you can't have it back.
