You glanced at Aventurine as he lounged on a plush chaise, his eyes sparkling with mischief, framed by the golden rims of his glasses. His sandy-blond hair fell effortlessly over his forehead, enhancing the allure of his enigmatic smile. You felt your pulse quicken, excitement coursing through you. "Deal."

With the agreement sealed, you continued your ministrations, each stroke more deliberate, each moment laced with promise. As you worked on the knots in his shoulders, you asked your first question, "What's the biggest risk you've ever taken?"

Aventurine smirked, his eyes sparkling with delight. "Oh, that's easy. Winning my position in the IPC by betting against my own sanity." His laughter rang out, rich and inviting, sending shivers down your spine.

With each question and answer, the boundary between relaxation and desire blurred further. He responded with stories of close calls and narrow escapes, his charm intoxicating as you leaned in closer, your fingers trailing down his spine.

In turn, he began to explore your body, his touch becoming more daring, his fingers sliding over your arms and shoulders with a teasing caress. "Your turn," he prompted, a devilish smile gracing his lips. "What's your greatest fantasy?"

You felt your cheeks flush, heat radiating through your body. "Well, I've always imagined a night like this," you confessed, your voice barely above a whisper, "with you."

"Is that so?" he asked, leaning closer, his lips brushing against your ear, igniting a spark of electricity that coursed through you. "Then let's make that fantasy a reality."

With newfound determination, you moved to straddle his lap, your fingers tangling in his hair as you leaned in to capture his lips with yours. The kiss was electrifying, a fusion of heat and hunger as he responded with fervor, his hands finding your waist, pulling you closer as if he could never get enough.

You broke the kiss, breathless, and looked into his eyes, which sparkled with mischief and desire. "I think we've reached a new level of intimacy."

"Indeed," he replied, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "And I'm all in for whatever happens next."

One thing I think is interesting about Severance as a concept is that I realised I've actually seen very few pieces of longform storytelling that truly genuinely engage with the horror and trauma of contemporary work environments

not saying they're not out there but it's not like. a massively popular theme

which I honestly think is kind of wild because I'm my early 30s I have met basically nobody over the age of 25 who hasn't had a genuinely traumatic work experience.

whether it's about managerial bullying, persistent control, being consistently lied to and and made to feel crazy and paranoid, being put in situations that cause your physical and mental health to collapse, being verbally abused, sexually harassed, pushed into panic attacks and depressive shutdowns, totally losing your self-worth, being robbed of thousands of pounds, being sleep-deprived and in constant pain, all the nonsense

it's an almost universal experience by a certain point in your life to have had at least one job that you're still panicked and overwhelmed and disregulated if you think about it even years later

and we kind of don't like. talk about work as a site of genuine trauma that much. but it fucking is. and a lot of the structures of corporate systems are specifically abusive, they're designed to make you feel unable to question what's happening to you or assert your own agency, and to relocate any problems on you as an individual (that's what HR is for). and while there is obviously metaphor involved, I really appreciate seeing a show really solidly engage with those systems as they literally exist.

Whenever I choose to look at the online fandoms of shows I watch that are still actively airing (IWTV, 9-1-1 to name a few) I’ve notice an increasingly disturbing problem where people seem to think the show and the characters are Real Life and therefore speculating on or even wishing for any conflict or hardships for the characters in the fictional television show is Mean and a Hateful thing to wish on A Person and I don’t know what to do about it but it concerns me how many people seem to not grasp the difference between fiction and reality and then freak out when someone expresses concern over this
