Adrienne Lyle and Helix during their test today at Versailles. They finished with a very respectable 72.593%. Unfortunately, her teammate Marcus Orlob with Jane was eliminated after blood was seen on the horse's fetlock. It was only a minor scrape and the horse is fine, but this means the USA Dressage Team cannot qualify for a medal. Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper (Mopsie) make their attempt to qualify for an individual medal tomorrow.

Colder Than Titanic Water
Liladrien Week 2024 | Day Seven: Date
Lyle checks himself out in the mirror before he leaves. Red leather jacket, white shirt with a dramatic v-neck, distressed blue jeans – looking good!
The gold ring he wears on a near-invisible chain around his neck bounces gently against his chest as he scrunches his nose at his own reflection. The metal is warmed to skin temperature and its pretty metallic surface reflects the dim lights of his apartment. Lyle’s hands are covered with gel that he carefully applies to his pompadour.
One last spray of Acqua Dell’Elba’s Arcipelago and he is good to go.
Outside, it has started raining lightly. The faint aroma of petrichor begins to infest the city as Lyle makes the brisk walk down to his car. He shudders as he pulls himself inside his red coupé Porsche. As much as he had been enjoying Paris, its weather had been testing him lately.
As he drives through the streets, he sees mature women with children on either side of him. Cafés beginning to close as final coffee orders are called out. A bookshop with a black cat in its window front squints its eyes suspiciously at him as Lyle flips it his middle finger back. When the light turns green, Lyle makes sure to squeal his tires loudly enough to startle the wretched feline.
By the time Lyle pulls up before the great glowing mausoleum of the Graham de Vanily Estate, the Sun has all but set. The sky is a Prussian-indigo colour and the clouds are wisps of grey smoke.
Lyle leans out his rolled-down side window and quickly jams his thumb against the intercom button.
The speaker cracks.
“Yes?” comes an irritated, gravelly voice.
“It’s me,” Lyle says, just as irritated. The fucker can see him through the camera. He bears a toothy false smile at the lens. “I’m here to pick up Adrienne.”
The red light remains on for a few seconds more. Lyle imagines that Nicholas is debating whether or not it’s likely Lyle will leave if he ignores him. Fat chance. Lyle will ram his Porsche through the fucking gates of the Estate and make Nicholas pay for the damages to his baby.
The red light blinks off and the doors creak open, an electronic signal commanding them to part as slowly as possible. Lyle growls and flips up another middle finger at the dead security camera before driving through the gates to park neatly at the foot of the stairs.
The doors of the Graham de Vanily Mansion are already cracking open, sending a pillar of aureate light to filter through like a hand reaching down from Heaven.
Émile Graham de Vanily, in white trousers and a cashmere sweater, beams at Lyle who has just slammed his car door shut and is moving up the stairs quickly, wincing at each cold drop of water that falls from the sky.
“Goodness,” Émile says, seizing Lyle by the shoulders when he reaches him. “You should’ve called ahead, I could’ve met you with an umbrella.”
“Ah, it’s no bother, Monsieur,” Lyle says. “A little rain never harms anybody.”
Lyle says this while wanting to throttle someone for the state of his hair.
“Come in, come in,” Émile says, gesturing for Lyle to walk into the warmth. “No need to catch a cold on this lovely night.”
The doors shut behind them and Émile leads the way into the foyer. Lyle squints down at the marble between his feet, trying to judge by his murky reflection whether or not he needs to duck into a bathroom to freshen up.
Inside the Graham de Vanily Mansion, every last light in each sconce and chandelier is on, making Lyle feel as if he has walked into a hardware store or a house on fire. The rain has started earnestly outside, fat raindrops the size of bullets hammering against windows and drizzling down.
Lyle feels pity for any poor fucker caught in that storm.

Synopsis: In Amsterdam, The Hammer's hitman Vidor recovers some discs from a contact in return for some negatives being used by the commissar to blackmail him with. Rather than exchange the negatives, Vidor simply kills him. In the Batcave, Tim Drake considers giving up his role as Robin, having been enrolled by his father in a school in Metropolis, and having disobeyed Batman's orders and taken up with The Huntress. Alfred tries to reassure him, but can't hide his own misgivings about Tim's activities. Even so, he takes Tim out in the van to meet with Huntress.
Robin explains to Huntress that the Russian gangsters they met had used their real names, and that they are involved in a patented method of creating counterfeit-proof currency for world-powers. This means that they planned to join with the Hammer in creating counterfeit currency that could pass for currencies belong to those countries who believe that they are safe from counterfeiting. Mr. Dzerchenko, who the KGBeast had murdered, was intended to print the counterfeit money. They check several printers across Gotham City for the counterfeiters, but turn up nothing.
Finally, they discover a suspicious operation, and sneak inside. However, they are watched from above by the Ghost Dragons. Robin notices that the money that the Hammer is printing doesn't appear to be a real currency, but they continue to talk about it as though it will be worth a fortune. He decides to stay on to investigate their real plan, until the KGBeast turns up carrying Huntress' unconscious body.
Using the sound of the printing presses as cover, Robin knocks out some of the goons, and attempts to alter the program that will produce the counterfeit currency. While searching for Huntress, he discovers that Ariana Dzerchenko is not dead, but has been put to work bagging heroin for the Hammer. He kills the lights in the plant, and makes his way to Ariana. Unfortunately, once he gets to her, Vidor and his men block their path to escape.

Papa’s Princess [Blyle one-shot]
Author’s Notes:
Gasp! Not me writing instead of studying Latin... and the rest of my exams! Anyways, here’s Blyle fluff :D
English is not my first language, so please forgive any typos/grammar mistakes!
Lyle Astor belongs to the bad influence lovely @cursebreakerfarrier !
Please let me know if you want to be tagged on any of my writing!
Summary: Blanche gives birth to her third child, and Lyle couldn’t be more eager to meet her.
Word Count: 1.1k
Reading Time: 4 minutes
Tumblr media
Blanche Astor had been giving birth to her third child for nearly fourteen hours. Lionel Astor knew he should be used to it by now, but moments as tense as this one, the excruciatingly long wait was something that never failed to make him nervous.
His two sons, Vincent and Richard, were in the music room, playing a soft tune with their uncle Philip. He had been a pillar to him and Blanche, and he was thankful that he had his support.
An occasional cry of pain would startle Lyle, who wanted to be there, but the midwife and Mrs. Dubois had made clear that men were not allowed in the birthing room. He had been pacing through the door for the good part of the birth. His mother-in-law had insisted that he should sit down with his sons and have a glass of scotch, but as the man of the house and father of the child, he felt entitled to do as he pleased in his house.
The door opened and his head whipped rapidly to where the assistant of the accoucheur went for probably more dry towels and a glass of water for the mother. He decided to check on his sons, who were laughing at something amusing Philip was telling them. His eldest, Vincent Robert, looked at him. He was now a boy of eight, but he was as savvy and perceptive as his mother “I fear for Mama too, but uncle Philip says we must have faith in her strength.”
He sighed and nodded, patting affectionally his son’s head “You prove to be as wise as your mother, my boy.”
He smiled at him, his blue eyes that he had inherited from his mother and coiled hair on him. His youngest, Richard Florian, who was six, was trying to play something on the piano, a gift courtesy of the Lady Gray for their nuptials. He patted his shoulder and kissed his head, earning a giggle from him.
He sat and joined the riveting conversation, laughing and enjoying this time with his sons when Mrs. Dubois, Philip’s wife, Adrienne, smiled at Lyle and beckoned her to come with her. As they walked, he asked, “I trust my wife didn’t have an arduous childbirth?”
The redheaded nodded “It was rough at first, but after some exercises and medicines of the midwife, she could overcome the pain. She asked for you the whole time.”
He looked down with a small smile. He took a deep breath and entered the room, where Blanche, despite being all sweaty and tired, looked as beautiful as ever. She smiled at him “Come, Lyle. It’s a girl.”
His eyes went wide and a wide smile formed “A daughter?”
He sat beside her, the small baby fussing and her eyes closed, sucking on her thumb. She had her mother’s hair. In fact, she favored her mother enormously. Blanche passed the bundle to him and he caught her gingerly, feeling her warmth and how small she was “Hello, beautiful.” He kissed her little forehead, a thing that made her coo and kick gently her feet, a thing that earned a laugh from him, his eyes wet with emotion. His baby was safe, and she was a girl! The most beautiful baby girl from the most beautiful woman his eyes ever beheld “I love her already.”
Blanche kissed his cheek “She loves you too.”
She slept peacefully on his arms, and he settled her on the crib, with the blanket Blanche had been sewing from the moment she knew she was to have another child. Her Hufflepuff friends came to congratulate the couple and marvel at such a beautiful baby. They had decided to name her Melissa, with the nickname Missy, except Richard, who called her Melly, but he didn’t mind.
Melissa proved to have her mother’s temper and attitude, but also her gentleness and sense of humor, as well as his love for the simple things. He’d often read her the classic poetry and sing with her at the piano. She had inherited one thing from him: his eyes.
The boys already adored their sister, and Melissa had turned into Lionel’s favorite person in the world; he spoiled her like no other and she seemed to prefer his company than her mother’s, thing that Blanche teasingly complained about. She also seemed to like to tease him as well, and his sons had allied with their mother to prank him.
When she said her first word, Lyle was overjoyed: she had said, Papa! Blanche couldn’t stop teasing him about being Papa’s little princess, a thing that made him proud.
One night, while Blanche breastfed their daughter while their sons slept, he stood on the doorframe as he observed her sing a lullaby, her eyelids starting to close. He approached slowly and offered her some warm milk. She always had an unquenchable thirst after breastfeeding, and yet always forgot about it. But Lionel did not.
“There’s your drink, darling.”
The moment Melissa heard her father’s voice, her little head swiveled to look at him, and Blanche grimaced when she took her nipple with him. He made a face and kissed his wife’s head as an apology “Sorry. I did not know she’d do that.”
As Missy cooed, demanding her father’s attention—which he gladly granted—she laughed “Papa’s girl.”
He smiled proudly, his chest puffing as he cradled his princess, who got bigger and more beautiful by the day “She missed me as I missed her. Am I right, my beautiful princess?” He asked teasingly, a thing that made his daughter squeal. He kissed her cheek, earning a giggle as he started to rock her, her hand firmly gripping the lapels of his shirt, her energy dropping by the minute.
After some minutes, he gently placed her on the crib with the lovey she already loved and he and Blanche quietly slipped the nursery, careful not to step on anything. They finally reached the master bedroom and Blanche kissed his cheek “Have I mentioned how much I love seeing you with our Missy?”
He spun her around to face her and stared at her lovingly “Give yourself some credit, my love. You too are incredible with her.”
She smiled at him, and his heart fluttered at such a beautiful sight and she tiptoed to have more leverage when kissing him “You know what it’d be incredible? Catch up with my husband. I haven’t seen you around since Missy was born.”
He smiled mischievously and lifted her with ease “As you wish, Mrs. Astor.” She giggled before kissing him again, settling her down the bed, incredibly, utterly happy.

Reactions As I Read: ● in case we ever forget Robin is in his early-mid teens 😂 hell, though, I’d act exactly the same way even now if I was as sleep-deprived as he is

● 👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: After being confronted by his school counsellor, Ms. Hollingsworth, about his bruises and injuries, Tim Drake is forced to come up with an excuse so that her suspicions aren't focused on his mentor and friend Bruce Wayne. Under pressure, he lies and claims it was a senior classman who has beaten him up, and agrees to go through a student roster to identify his bully the next morning.
Feeling the weight of his secret identity and the dishonesty it requires on his shoulders, Tim confides in the mute Harold Allnut deep in the Batcave. When he returns home to Drake Manor, his father questions him about the apparent fight that gave Tim his bruises, and Tim is forced to lie again.
Additionally, his father has concerns about the amount of time Tim spends at Wayne Manor, feeling some jealousy at the fact that in his current state, he can't be there for his son as much. Tim tries to explain that there's nothing to worry about, but confronted with his issues about his secret identity again, he simply storms off. He worries that he can't keep his secret much longer.
Elsewhere, King Snake trains against the Ghost Dragons. After he defeats them all, he receives a report from Lynx indicating that their territory is being encroached upon by a new Russian gang employing the dangerous KGBeast. King Snake vows to take the KGBeast down himself, retaining his title as 'most dangerous assassin.' That night, Robin arrives late to his meeting with Huntress, who reveals that the Russians belong to an organization called the Hammer, whose scare tactics are keeping information about them scarce. Their discussion is interrupted by a man who reveals that he and the other Russians of Little Odessa had fled Russia to escape the Hammer. His disgust for the organization leads him to help the vigilantes, and give up the Hammer's location.
Robin and Huntress take the aggressive approach, and Tim works out some of his frustrations by knocking heads. They work their way inside a casino, and are forced to fight nearly all of its patrons before Tim notices one of the same hoods who kidnapped Ariana Dzerchenko after her father was murdered. Robin gives chase, and manages to knock the thug to the ground. When he asks about Ariana, though, he is told that she was killed. His anger rises, and Huntress arrives just in time to prevent him from crossing a line. Frustrated, Robin simply runs away.
Elsewhere, the commissar of the Hammer orders that one of his men go to Amsterdam for a special project, while Lynx questions the thug that Robin took down moments before. King Snake is intrigued by the audacity of the Hammer's plans, and takes it upon himself to commandeer the plan for his own ends, leaving Lynx to kill the snitch as she pleases.
The next morning, Tim wakes up late, and is horrified to discover that he has a huge black eye that he'll have to explain to Ms. Hollingsworth once he gets to school.
