A twisted Fairytale
Marinette once thought that dating Adrien Agreste was like a fairytale, but now it's become dark.
Part 3 of the death of Adrien Agreste
Ao3 link
my entry for day 12: fairytale
Being with Adrien was like living a fairytale. He was sweet and kind and patient. He didn't mind gove her space when she needed it snd support when she didn't. He worked around all her problems, which Marinette knew she had many. He was beautiful, sexy, and perfect.
The only problem was his control freak of a father. Except, he was worse than a cranky, CEO. HE WAS HAWKMOTH. It shouldn't have felt as good as it did to beat the snot out of her boyfriend's father, but with each hit, Marinette thought of London, and Adrien, and all the akumas he'd unleashed. It felt good , giving into that anger, that rage.
Then, she remembered Chat Noir. Sweet, silly Chat Noir, who'd never hurt a fly. He'd never approve of Ladybug acting like that, giving into her rage. So Ladybug stepped back and gave Gabriel the chance to do the right thing. Gabriel decided to venom her and make the wish so he could die.
Looking back, Marinette could understand why. If Gabriel hadn't done that, Nathalie would've died too, and Adrien would've been forced to move to London regardless. In a way, Gabriel was trying to make up for everything he'd done by letting Adrien stay in Paris with her.
Then, Gabriel had requested that Marinette let Adrien remember the good things he'd done, and Gabriel had done good things, especially before...
Well, that was in the past. Now, Marinette was going to help Adrien remember the good things, like all the compliments he'd paid to Adrien, or the breakfasts he'd made for him, and...well, Marinette wasn't sure what elde there was, but Gabriel wasn't her dad. Even though he'd been strict, Adrien had loved him and Marinette wasn't going to take that away from him.
Besides, Gabriel was dead. What good would come from telling everyone that Adrien’s dad was Hawkmoth?
Ladybug had enough experience with bad press to know what would happen. People would all line up, looking for someone to blame, and they'd twist Ladybug’s words to hurt her sweet Adrien, who hadn't done anything wrong.
Ladybug couldn't tell anyone that Gabriel was Hawkmoth. Not without disrespecting his last request, but she couldn't let Adrien believe that Gabriel was missing either. Dhe knew how much his mother going missing had hurt him. No, Adrien had to know that Gabriel was dead...even though the Miraculous Ladybug should've resurrected him.
So, Marinette told another eensy weensy lie. That Gabriel had sacrificed himself to stop Hawkmoth. It was the only way that Ladybug could see to explain his death without ruining everything.
That was, until Adrien found out the truth. Not only did he find out that Gabriel was Hawkmoth, but also that he was a senti-monster. Marinette had never wanted that. She knew how badly that had messed up Felix. Who knew what it would do to her sweet Adrien?
Besides, Felix was currently the one with the Peacock, and while Marinette didn't trust him, she didn't want to take the Peacock away from the poor guy either, especially since he knew her secret identity. Anyways, from what she knew about Adrien and Felix, they didn't get along as much as they should, and there'd almost certainly be a fight once Adrien realized the cousin he didnt trust held his life in his hands.
Except, Adrien hadn't broken down like Marinette had expected. Instead Adrien had come back and did the interview. Marinette had begged him not to. She'd pleaded for him to delay it, just for a little, until Marinette could confirm it with Felix, but Adrien wasn’t having it.
It didn't matter how crazy it sounded or how much it contradicted what Felix had told her, Adrien had enough proof for himself. So he'd conducted the interviews, and threw Marinette under the bus.
Then, as if to make it worse, after the interview, he'd started pulling away, giving her the silent treatment or making little comments behind her back. Sometimes, he'd even stay the night at Nino's without telling her.
Then, he went to the funeral. Without her, but with Nino and Chloe.
Marinette didnt know what happened next, but she only remembered lying on the bed drunkenly clutching her bottle of wine as she cried into her phone, asking Alya where it all went wrong.

Flowers and a hug - Adrien AUGreste Day 3
So wasn't orignally planning on doing the event but I needed something to break up this fic I'm redoing. If I spend too long staring at it, it was going to drive me up a wall, so, here we are. Since I've done most of the @adrienaugust prompts for my Wish series, I'm just going to do the ones I haven't done. Who knows, maybe I'll finally do 'Switched', the one prompt I skipped in the first Wish story.
If you don't know what I mean, the Wish series is a fic series I did exploring the idea of Lila winning and wishing for Adrien's life and Adrien's new life as the kid of an Italian diplomat who has the freedom to be completely himself. These fics are going to be part of that series and the timeline will bounce around.
This fic is based after the events of the last chapter of the second story. Enjoy
Flowers
Piano, he learned from his dad. English and French, his mom taught him that. Sewing was learned at the feet of his nonna. But plants, specifically flowers, his hardened, silent nonno taught him that. Whenever Adrien was with his grandparents, he’d always spend at least 15 minutes in their garden, helping his nonno with whatever task he was doing. The man was always in the garden, even on days were his body made it hard to move, he’d sit on the swinging chair he’d put together after Adrien begged for one, with his espresso or tea and just take his work in. He didn’t speak much, preferring to show his words in actions but he’d tell Adrien about the stories behind the meaning of flowers. He would have him help make bouquets that he’d silently pass to his wife, the only reaction of her thanks being the blush that came to his face like clockwork when she’d press a kiss to her husband’s cheek.
The bouquets had no rhyme or reason behind them, but Adrien did notice whenever his nonna was upset, flowers would end up in her kitchen. They weren’t an immediate fix, but it always brought a smile to her face.
So that’s why Adrien left his apartment early in the morning, met up with Marinette outside the bakery and took the train to the flower market near the Notre-Dame. Luka had told him he loved him and also that because of his grandfather, he’d be busy with something he couldn’t talk about. He and Juleka were feeling the affects of whatever it was, looking exhausted, but Luka seemed to be having a harder time with whatever it was. Adrien was dying to poke and ask more questions but with a ring on his finger and a new constant hitchhiker, Adrien knew it would be wrong to ask for answers Luka wasn’t ready to give. It could see it was bothering him, whenever Luka couldn’t give him a clear answer. Luka’s brow would furrow, he’d tug at his earrings and he’d apologise like it was no one’s business. Adrien just wanted him to be reminded that even though they had to keep a few secrets, that wasn’t going to break them up. Marinette, after hearing his idea in class, offered to show him the best stalls at the flower market.
“Thanks again for doing this.” Adrien thanked.
“Of course. Luka’s been looking so exhausted. I think he was actually going to fall asleep standing up at rehearsal. I’m surprised he didn’t cancel.”
“Not Luka. If he can’t play music, he feels like there’s no point.” It had been that sometimes it was the only time he’d see Luka relax, unburdened by whatever was bothering him.
He just hoped this was another way to make him relaxed.
The market was huge. Thanks to Marinette’s suggestion, it wasn’t quite as packed as it could have been and the blonde Italian followed the baker’s daughter to the different stalls. He didn’t buy from every one, but he pulled some with meanings he hoped to convey. Roses in colours that meant happiness, worthy of them, salvias in blue to let Luka know he was always on Adrien’s mind and hydrangeas to tell Luka thank you for at least trying to give some context, little as it was, along with dahlias to remind him of how kind he was. Cellophane and tissue paper in hand, Adrien tightened his grip on his spoils. His nonno made smiles appear out of thin air with his nonna and her moods. Luka wasn’t in so much of a mood, but Adrien still wanted to make Luka smile.
Here went seeing what stuck from the lessons.
__________________
Sleeping sounded good. Great even, but he had a whole understanding of a Kwami Box to understand first. Said Kwami had tons of energy, but the slightest glimpse of being overstimulated and they thankfully calmed down and went back in the box. They were a help in helping his mother find her missing things. They were like genies. Who didn’t know their own history. The monks behind the Temple did tell their students much, so the little Fu did write down for him left a lot of gaps. Not even the translated Grimoire gave much help in understanding it. with his classes, patrol and trying to be a present person with the people he cared about, Luka felt like he was going to explode. He had Juleka, but she was approaching finals before she graduated collége and headed to lycée. He still needed to take his university exams, if he was even going to do in person university. Another decision he needed to make.
Fu fucking owed him for throwing this responsibility onto a teenager. And the monks, for choosing a kid who didn’t want to do said job which caused all of this in the first place. Also, where the fuck where they? Fu swore they were close but he had yet to have some old person come and demand the Miraculous back. He’d like to have the chance to convince them to help, like Jessica managed to do. He wished he could talk to her more, but he knew her parents were still trying to find them and they wanted answers about the American Miraculous that Jess couldn’t give. He was in a better position than her, having a whole team instead of just his sister, but it wasn’t going to do much now. He couldn’t tell his team what was going on, not until they had more information. Not even his own boyfriend.
Which was another thing. he missed Adrien. Any time they hung out turned into a mess of him being exhausted and distant. Adrien was the best thing ever, not looking upset, just asking if everything was ok. How was it he had the pair the more powerful Miraculous and he wasn’t allowed to tell him anything?
God, he needed a fucking nap.
He shoved the box into the chest they’d chosen for the hiding spot, the Kwami taking a hint and ducking into the mini figure collection Rose had been growing on Juleka’s side of the room. He flopped onto his bed, trying to get his body to relax.
“Luka?” Tikki questioned, letting out a sad hum when he turned to face the wall and away from her.
“Just five minutes please Tikki. I just want five minutes.”
He heard footsteps, but assumed it was his mother. Juleka was spending the night with Rose. The tiny blonde had taken a look at her exhausted looking girlfriend and dragged her home, according to Juleka’s text. But…his mom wasn’t in town. She was charting a yacht across the water for the week. So, who…?
A knock on the post leading to his room made him open his eyes and look towards the doorway.
“Adrien?”
“Hi. I thought Juleka was here but I didn’t see her and I didn’t see your mom either. I didn’t want come in without permission. I know how much your mom loves that.”
He stared at Adrien, dressed rather like a punk for a change, like he wasn’t real. Luka got up and started to walk over to him, ready to grab him into a hug when he was stopped by a face full of flowers. Adrien looked embarrassed.
“I had them behind my back and you were gonna hug me. I wanted to surprise you with them first.”
Luka felt a small smile grow. “You got me flowers?” he asked, taking them from Adrien.
“I made you flowers. A bouquet of flowers I mean.” Adrien stuttered a little, the smile on Luka’s face getting bigger. “My nonno would give my nonna flowers whenever she was upset or just because and I know you’ve have to keep secrets and I can see it’s been upsetting you so I wanted to give you something that reminded you I was here, for whatever you need. Even if it’s just a hug.” Adrien spread his arms out, letting out a small noise when Luka wrapped his arms around him. “Do you like them?”
“I love them. thank you. I like the hug too.”
Adrien laughed, adjusting his grip so he could hug him tighter.
“Of course, you know how to make bouquets. Is there anything you don’t know how to do?” Luka asked, rocking the two of them back and forth. Finally, just for a little bit, he felt calm.
“A number of things, I just learn to fake a lot of it.”
“So, you know the meanings? Is that post on making a ‘fuck you’ bouquet true then?”
Adrien giggled. “Yes, it is. I can tell you what these flowers mean.”
“In a bit.” Luka said, looking at the blossoms he held. He wanted to tell Adrien everything, but for now, these were proof that while things were stressful and insane, he had a person he could go to, even if it was for a hug and a smile. the minute he got permission, Adrien would know. but for right now, he could take a hug. And the flowers, definitely, the flowers.

Fairytales
For day 12 of Adrien AUGreste - fairytales
.
Fairytales have always made Adrien feel safe, no matter how dark they get.
.
Ao3 link
.
Warnings: child neglect, references to panic attacks
There are certain things that children require as they grown up, beyond basic human needs such as water and food and shelter. There are certain things that children need in order to be healthy, in order to enjoy the best quality of life possible.
There are certain things that Adrien was not given. Any semblance of freedom, mostly. Emotional validity. Actual interest. There are other things that Adrien was given too much of. Clothes. Money. Space.
It seems contradictory to have too much space and not any freedom but his parents diligently managed. There were eyes on his every step and yet there was no warmth in them, no care. Adrien has spent much of his life being cold.
He used to hunch under the sheets and shiver, despite his room being the optimal temperature. It was almost every night before he found a cure. From then on, he would curl up under the covers, weak torch on, and thumb through the pages of his fairytales.
His mother had smiled indulgently when she saw his recent order, seeing no problem in allowing her son to have a book or two. It wouldn't teach him enough about outside for him to want to go there, after all.
It hadn't taught Adrien about outside. His first book of fairytales had taught him about humans instead. When he ordered his second, his mother had barely blinked. By the fourth, she'd stopped paying attention. And so it was, that his materials grew darker and darker, shifting from fairies and unicorns to selkies and sirens. Adrien himself grew less outwardly emotional, immersed further and further into his fairytales.
His mother went missing.
Adrien fell deeper into another world, sunk into the gaps between the letters of the fairytales he never stopped reading and let his mind whisper of tragedies and bargains and sacrifices and kidnappings and spells that backfired. He watched his father with narrowed eyes, waiting for the grief to manifest itself. His father no longer ate dinner with him. Nathalie offered to but he turned her down, taking the opportunity to read at the table too.
Somehow, just as his mother faded from visible to obscured, his fairy tale books went from obscured to visible. If his father noticed, he did not care. His father never cared what Adrien was up to as long as he didn't stray from the path he had set out.
Then Adrien did stray.
He'd become desperate to gain his freedom from his tower, his six months in the Aboveworld, his own grand adventure. In exchange for his failed attempt, his father took his books. He didn't truly look at Adrien as he did so, despite the antics of his son catching his attention. He took Adrien's books and didn't even have the decency to look at him.
Plagg had entered Adrien's life before he could truly begin to despair and Adrian had considered it a fair bargain. His books for the chance of a real-life fairytale.
One of delicate flutters and bloody smiles and vibrant gashes and harsh giggles. One of predators and prey and glowing, green, poisonous eyes and lazy smirks and jagged wounds.
Ladybug and Chat Noir won most battles but Adrien was never sure whether or not they'd win the war. Fairytales become easier to predict the more of them you read but how could he be sure which one this was? There are consequences to thinking yourself on the wrong fairytale. Too much haste can lead to the mongoose losing its life for saving another’s. Too little can lead to avoidable carnage.
Adrien doesn't know which fairytale he's in. He doesn't know much really, other than academics and awkward moments with friends. He especially doesn't know what to do with a kwami. Feeding Plagg is natural, as is putting up with his laziness and general inconvenience.
What isn't natural is the way he bites his lip and glances over at Plagg after a particular bad alums that leaves the kwami exhausted. What isn't natural is the skittish way he approached the god, hands tightly clutching the sole book to survive his father's purge. (Adrien suspects his father has forgotten about the whole thing. He could be punish him still, of course, but that's less likely.)
What isn't natural is the way he cracks open the book and starts to read, his voice uneven and stuttering. What isn't natural is the way that Plagg eyes him speculatively the next morning. ("Fairytales, huh? I can work with this.")
What isn't natural at first but swiftly becomes so if Plagg's voice in his ear as he struggles to breathe, to fight back against the choking weight of anxiety. The kwami reads him fairytales as Adrien struggles to focus on his voice and when those run out, he starts to make up his own.
Plagg is a horrible storyteller, all disorganised and full of both rapid passages and long pauses but it's good. It's good to have these spaces to lift Adrien up, to anchor him back to firm ground. Fairytales have always been something for Adrien, something he keeps to himself. They are safe in a way that people are not. Plagg is certainly not safe.
And yet, when the kwami tells him fairytales, Adrien can pretend, might even believe that he can one day be both loved and free.

The Two of (me) Us
Two times.
That was the amount of regress he had done before he came to this timeline, the timeline that he thought would be the perfect timeline. Not because, this time, the world is at peace or no one gets sick cliche of perfect, but in a simple way, where he got both his parents and they can be a complete family, which with his mother finally cured from her illness. After all, there's the saying 'three times's a charm', right?
Sadly, it's not work either.
( Written for event Adrien AUGreste 2023 @adrienaugust )
An AU where there's two Adrien.
Day 1. Feather
But no, the world won't let him get his wish.
He wondered where he got it wrong this time?
Is it because he used his knowledge from a previous timeline to cure his mother? Probably, because that was where everything went downhill, it was while in his previous timeline when he was unable to cure her, everything seemed to be normal until his death. No magical terrorists, no miraculous, just a normal world.
Perhaps he shouldn't try to change it. Maybe that's why the world decided to fix the thing that he changed. Because, in the end, his mother still died and his father? He's gone so much worse than the version of him that he encountered him in his previous timelines. It wasn't a depression anymore, it was madness.
The worst part is that he didn't even know who to blame. Him for trying to change his mother's fate, his father for letting his grief and depression eat him whole, that stupid feather who stole his name or Miraculous for exist. But there's also part of him who doesn't want to blame anything, he just… Tired. Way too tired, it seems that whatever Ladybug said came as gibberish to him.
"Do you even--" he heard her indignant voice, perhaps she finally realise that he hadn't paid attention to what she said. "Minou?" Weird how she sounded so worried when he called him that and the next thing he knew, she already stood in front of him.
Focus.
Recap.
They had just finally figured out his father was the Monarch. They fight him together and while they manage to claim the stolen miraculous, they also manage to get to know that 'Adrien' is a sentimonster that his mother created, which end up killed her because the peacock was broken and his father in his way to get revenge on him and Ladybug… Died because of the cataclysm.
He killed his own father.
The realisation finally dawned on him and he fell on his knees. He wasn't even aware whatever it was that Ladybug said to him, as her voice was drowning while the same sentences were repeated over and over again in his mind. He put his hands on his ears in the hope of drowning that voice to no avail. The more he tried to block it, the louder it became.
You killed your own father.
You're a murderer!
As the voice became even more unbearable, he did the only thing that came to his mind.
He screamed.

hello! i dunno if you were accepting fanfic recs asks but - might you have any fanfic recs about chat noir angst with the rest of the superhero team?
Yeah sure! I'm not entirely sure what you mean about having the rest of the superhero team, but I'm assuming it involves them having at least some sort of role in the story? Anyway I'll do the best I can.

Dr. Walker & Kitty Hyde series by @pearl484-blog
Summary of the first fic, Rain Falls, Everybody Lies:
Chat Noir loves the rain. He loves the danger. He loves the excitement, and he especially loves how much Catwalker hates it.
Jekyll and Hyde AU
Adrien AUGreste Entry 3: Rain
So like the summary says, and the title indicates, this series is inspired by the popular conception of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - not how the book actually goes, but how it’s portrayed in popular media, with Jekyll splitting himself in two, with a “good” side and a “bad” side.
During Kuro Neko, instead of just changing his appearance through changing his mindset, Adrien took more extreme measures, sealing off his “undesirable” characteristics, his anger and sadness and all his sharp edges, into the ring so he could assume a more placid, genial persona that’d be more accepted - Cat Walker.
But Chat Noir’s still there, taking over whenever Adrien gets too testy, and desperately trying not to be pressed out of existence entirely. With embodying Adrien’s sealed anger and snappishness and rebelliousness, he’s not too kind to the other heroes - he already felt looked down upon and ignored before this, and seeing them accept Cat Walker while he’s fighting for his life doesn’t endear them to him either.
The series isn’t unfair to them - this isn’t a case where one party is entirely in the wrong and another’s entirely in the right. Marinette, Zoe, Nino, and all the others - they did wonder about what was going on with Chat, but he wasn’t in a position where he could see it, and he did have legitimate questions about how much Ladybug would budge on things, if he’d told her what he was going through. It’s a series that emphasizes characters hurting and lashing out in some terrible ways, but that hurt still being respected, and working things out, trying to get everything to a better place.

drowning (in plain sight) by @buggachat
Everybody had expected Monarch's defeat to be a moment of triumph. Nobody had expected Gabriel Agreste, unmasked and mind frayed from continual abuse of the miraculous, crying out to all who would listen and making Paris certain of one thing:
His son, Adrien Agreste, is one of his sentimonsters.
And now he's missing.
Nobody can find him— not even the superheroes, and not even his closest friends. But Marinette, Nino, and Alya aren't ones to give up so easily. They'll find him, no matter what it takes.
(But, geez, would it kill Chat Noir to lend a hand?)
I’m sure everyone saw this one coming. If there’s one thing buggachat’s good at, storywise, it’s capturing raw, tumultuous emotions, frantic breakdowns as the characters desperately try to navigate bad situations. This was a real treat to read, as I’m betting most people reading this will agree, given just how popular the fic has been. It also has a ton of fanart, both by buggachat and by random fans, if you go looking for it (there’s a drowning in plain sight tag which I’d advise perusing).
---
one does not love breathing by @wackus-bonkus-maximus
All of Paris watched as Hawkmoth murdered Chat Noir, taking the Black Cat Miraculous for himself. Ladybug swears revenge, but her enemy—and every miraculous in his possession—disappear without a trace.
Six years later, a new team of villains launches an attack for the last remaining Miraculous: Volpina, armed with new powers; Queen Bee, with questionable loyalty; Argos, the new holder of the Peacock Miraculous; and Cat Walker, who Ladybug hates the most.
Takes place after S4 - Strike Back.
This is a simply phenomenal fic. You get to explore a lot of different perspectives, like Felix, Kagami, Marinette, and Adrien’s, just to name a few, and see their different thought processes and plans and priorities, and how it can cause their plans to collide with each other, even when they all ultimately are aiming for a good outcome for everyone. The characters are pretty complex and can mess up at times, even when they’re doing things (or not doing things, looking at you Luka) with the best of intentions. It was a joy to read and a real nail-biter the whole time, I actually wrote a fic for it halfway through just to resolve some of the tension for myself, One Does Not Love Shadows.
It also features the version of Luka I’ve connected best with to date, as he feels like Luka, but also is a lot more fleshed out, and can make some major errors while simply trying to avoid missteps. It’s helped me get a better handle on a character who I’ve generally had a lot of problems with really understanding.
It is an M-rated fic, though I think Wackus is being overly cautious on that front. There’s no sexual content and I wouldn’t put the violence or gore above a T-rating, so I wouldn’t let the rating scare you off.

Chat Walker’s Trial by @pearl484-blog
Instead of Catwalker showing up to serve as her new Chat Noir, Ladybug is stunned to find that Chat Noir has returned to her, having “improved” himself by repressing his emotions, memories, and willfulness. Deciding that this will not stand, she organizes her teammates to convince Chat Noir that giving those traits up and becoming the perfect partner was not the right move, but how can she argue against perfection?
Adrien Augreste 2022 entry for the day 23-24 prompt: Swap
This is a really intriguing fic. Instead of becoming Cat Walker in Kuro Neko, Adrien instead runs across a mage who helpfully provides some spells to make him into the “perfect” partner for Ladybug, magically suppressing his emotions and urge to rebel, as well as his memories of being Chat Noir, in order to make sure he doesn’t love her anymore. Ladybug, naturally, is distraught about this, but since Chat did all of this of his own free will, she needs to actually persuade him it was a bad move, which isn’t as easy as it sounds. It’s exquisitely painful at times with the amount of self-hatred Chat has for his previous self, and how the Miracuteam is divided on how bad these changes actually are, since he does seem more focused now - though the holdouts are a lot less on board when they think of someone who’s closer to them going through this process.

I hope that these scratch your itch!

Camembert Bribe
An Alternate Rocketear where Adrien speaks first
Link to Ao3
Adrien bounded up the steps to the school, eager to tell Nino the good news. Whatever Alya was up to, she loved Nino and only Nino. Even better, she'd admitted that she'd never be into Chat Noir.
When he got into school, he let Nino whisk him off into the basement almost immediately. Adrien was surprised Nino could keep on a grip on him though since Adrien was practically vibrating with excitement.
Then, before Nino could talk about whatever he needed to in the basement, Adrien blurted out the good news.
"I asked Chat Noir to check on Alya and she if she liked him last night, and Alya said 'no'. A hard no actually. I believe her exact words were 'I could never be in love with someone I didn't know'. Plus, Nino, she said that she was still totally into you. Made a huge heart thingy and everything."
Nino paled. "Last night?"
Adrien nodded, wondering what was wrong with his friend. "Yeah. I tracked Chat Noir down and paid him like a ton of camembert to do it." Then, at the look Nino was giving him, he explained, "Chat Noir is a HUGE cheese connisiour. Buuuut, his tastes are expensive. He eats almost exclusively camembert, so whenever I need him to do something, I give him some. But don't tell anyone. It’s a secret."
Nino nodded solemnly, thinking. "So, you paid Chat Noir to ask if Alya was into him."
Adrien grinned, excited that his friend understood. "Yep, and you know, break her heart if she did."
Nino stared at Adrien for a minute before he asked slowly, "And you ask Chat for these favors all the time?"
"Sure," Adrien said, shrugging to sell his story more, in for a penny and all. "Remember Christmas?"
Nino snorted. "Yeah, dude. You totally went AWOL. Your old man flipped out. Wait... are you saying Chat Noir helped with that?"
Adrien nodded, and Nino whacked him on the shoulder.
"Dude," Nino scolded, "text first next time, will ya? You had us all worried crazy! I wouldve totally covered for you."
Adrien gave Nino a sheepish smile. "Yeah," he agreed softly. "Next time."
Nino beamed back, his troubles forgotten for the moment. "Yeah, dude. Anything for you."

Good luck bracelet - Adrien AUGreste Day 28
It took a bit of thinking to come up with an idea but I decided to go with this. I also love how Adrien as Bast Luck would gossip about his boyfriend in the middle of fights, leaving a certain spotted hero a blushing mess. I'll admit, I'm not in love with the chapter, but hopefully you guys like it. This was also supposed to be up yesterday technically, whoops. Lucky Charm
“Why not get him a spa day? You can afford that right? Or maybe do it at home?” Vixen said as she and Bast Luck dodged an attack from an Akuma.
“Guys? Really?” Scarlet Bug called, face flushed, probably from the battle and Tigresse laughing at something. “Focus!”
Bast Luck didn’t really know why he was yelling that to them, they were all basically acting as bait while Venom and Tarasq got the Mouse holder from wherever she was. He and Vixen were the only ones who didn’t know her identity, which was kind of helpful in a way. They were also waiting for Ryuko to show up. She was a semi-permanent addition, just because the 3-element thing was useful in fights.
Adrien would of rathered Pegasus be involved but apparently, he wasn’t going to be available for the month, which, rude. Adrien had his own things to deal with. Exams were coming up and his own boyfriend had an upcoming audition for a prestigious university with an amazing music program. Since he’d been homeschooled all throughout lycée, his audition was late, which made him nervous.
Adrien was also happy that whatever had been making Luka really worried seemed to be taken care of. All he knew was that his grandfather’s uncle came and was helping him with whatever it was, actually teaching him and Juleka what to do and giving him chances to be a normal teenager. Luka had more stuff to deal with that, but he seemed lighter and less stressed, so that was all Adrien cared about. It was the audition that worried him now though.
“Anyway, spa? You said you want him to relax right?” Vixen continued, putting her flute to her lips to create an illusion of the rest of the temporary holders seeming to fall from the sky. The current Akuma was a little kid who had been wanting to be a hero, so the appearance of the rest of Team Paris kept them distracted while they waited. The akuma was hiding in an item that was hard to get so they needed Venom to use Persuasion and Multimouse to get the item so Bast Luck could use Cataclysm. It sounded like a heavily involved plan for what sounded like a simple thing but it was actually incredibly hard to get. All six of them had been struggling and the Lucky Charm basically spelled it out for them, hence the involved plan.
“Yeah, but I don’t know. feels like something to do after it’s over, to keep him from overthinking about the audition.”
With the audition coming up, Adrien wanted to do something to help Luka so when realising how long the battle was going to take, he just asked the others for advice. Well, not Scarlet Bug. He’d immediately gone red for some reason and honestly, Tigresse hadn’t stopped laughing since. Venom and Tarasq had suggested movie night before heading out before Vixen gave her suggestion.
“Well, do you think he’ll be ok?”
Bast Luck nodded. “he’s an amazing performer, so I know he’ll do well there. He’s just been dealing with a lot and I know he feels like he hasn’t practised enough or that he’s ready. I just-”
He was interrupted by a wave of water jumping over them, tossing the Akuma in the air, just as Venom appeared over them. after that it was a mess of catching the controlled akuma, getting said item and destroying it. with a captured and purified butterfly and ladybugs cleaning up the mess they’d made, they all watched Scarlet Bug create a magical charm from his yoyo and hand it to the little kid. That’s when it clicked.
“Oh my god. Scarlet, you’re a genius!” Scarlet Bug looked very confused as Bast started to back away. “I have to go. I need supplies and call my friend. Bye!” he said, taking off.
“The fu-?”
The little child gasped and pointed at Scarlet Bug. “You said a bad word!”
“And I will buy you ice cream if you don’t tell your parents about that ok?”
Pictures of a very guilty looking Scarlet Bug would be online later, all while he watched the kid devour their ice cream, but Adrien wouldn’t see that for hours. He had supplies to get and he needed Marinette to answer her phone. Or Nathaniel, since he was good at picking colours too, but someone, anyone, pick up their phone!
_____________
Nino thankfully was available, though he had to bring Noel. Noel was being his normal picky self, wanting to go home, but Adrien managed to distract him by telling him about flower crowns and how difficult it was to make. He didn’t believe him and stuck to the flower wall to pull flowers out while they checked out the bead aisle not too far.
“A charm bracelet?” Nino asked, looking over his shoulder to check on his brother.
“Well, I’m trying to make a copy of the lucky charm Marinette has. The one she hangs from her bag during exam days?”
“Oh, the one with the different beads. Why not just ask her to make one?” Nino suggested.
Adrien shook his head. “I want to do this for him. Issue is, Luka’s not the type to wear something that dangles very far on his person, so it doesn’t get caught in his bike. So, it’ll definitely be more bracelet.”
“He wears so many of them. do they have good luck charms in Italy you could give him?”
“Yeah. It’s called cornetto, or the horn. It’s kinda the most popular one, other than ladybugs. I already have an extra one my nonna gave me, and she loves Luka, so she’d be happy to know he has it.” Adrien pulled up a picture on his phone to show Nino.
“It looks like tiger tooth. They bring joy, which I guess also works. Horseshoe and four leave clover mainly bring luck.”
Adrien hummed, looking over his shoulder at Noel who was making his way back with his large bundle of flowers. “Is blue too predictable?”
“Is it bad saying it’s hard to see him in other colours? I mean, other than black and white. Red seems overly bright for him. Unless it’s how Scarlet Bug wears his costume, that I think Luka can pull off. Though…I don’t know, I can also see him in pink oddly enough, or that might just be me seeing Rose dress Juleka up in pink a lot.”
Nino wasn’t wrong. There was a bit of overlap in colours having meaning between France and Italy, so honestly, he couldn’t go wrong. He grabbed a few choices before looking at the charms. He found ones that matched the style or colour of the horn his nonna gave him when Marinette finally called him back.
“You have to watch Noel later right?” he asked, kicking Noel off at the news of being left behind. He knew already, he was just being difficult. “I have him and can bring him if you let me use your jewellery making stuff. I need someone to tell me if it looks ok.”
“Why are we making jewellery?”
“Because I want to give Luka a good luck charm. And I bought stuff for flower crowns for Noel so he can be distracted.”
“In that case, sure. but if it looks really nice, I want you to help me make a mock up to sell on my store after vacation starts.”
Luka wiped his violin down. he’d been practising all afternoon, the callous on his fingers were aching. He took a big breath as he glanced at the calendar hanging between his and Juleka’s rooms. Auditions were soon. He had the grades and everything else, he just had to nail this audition and he’d be getting into his dream university. He’d be doing in person school for the first time in nearly 8 years, but he was hooping all the time spent with Juleka’s class and just his general life would make it an easy transition. Thankfully, the school also offered online classes, it would just take longer to graduate, but the option was still there. He just wanted this audition to go well. Su-Han had been doing his job as Guardian, working at Fu’s old message parlour, so he was allowed to focus on the audition.
“I wonder what Adrien decided to do.” Tikki teased, letting out a squeak as Luka closed the compartment where he kept his supplies and the small weighted stuffed cow he always kept in there, where Tikki had been resting. “Hey!”
He got red remembering how Adrien had been gossiping with the other holders for ideas, in the middle of a battle. Sure, it was just to play keep away while Nathaniel and Marc went to go get Marinette but still. Juleka had been no help, truly taking Plagg’s teaching and just stood there, laughing. He almost wanted to ring her neck, but he was too busy trying not to get overly red and give himself away. While Adrien was a good Cat Holder, having his boyfriend on the team had its drawbacks. He just hoped Juleka got the same when they eventually called in Rose to become a holder.
He let go so Tikki could get out when he heard footsteps. Tikki darted up his jacket, making him squirm as Adrien came in.
“Hi!”
“Hey.” He said, sticking a hand down his jacket to make more room for Tikki. Thankfully it wasn’t one of the weirder positions Adrien had found him in. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to give you something, as a good luck charm for the audition.” Adrien pulled out a box from his bomber jacket and Luka was brought back to the day Adrien gave him their matching rings. “I hope you like it.”
Bast Luck had never finished the conversation and the nosy part of him had been curious what Adrien decided to give him. He opened the box and sitting on cotton fluff was a bracelet. It had blue and green beads that changed and meeting in the middle was a row of white beads. Separating them where 5 charms. The one in the middle was a red tiger’s tooth and on either side was a ladybug, a horse shoe, a four-leaf clover and a black cat.
“I didn’t choose green for me. On the Italian flag, it represents hope and freedom. Blue for intelligence and calm and white for purity. Can’t have enough of that with Hawkmoth around. Oh, also, this is called cornetto, it’s the most well know good luck charm in Italy. Nino says it means hope in France.”
“Tiger’s tooth, yeah. Why Ladybug and Bast Luck, unless it’s supposed to be Catseye?”
“No,” Adrien shook his head. “Ladybugs are also a symbol of good luck and unlike most western ideologies, black cats are also good luck. But if it helps to think of it as extra protection against Hawkmoth, then by all means.
Luka smiled and rested his violin in its case so he could put the bracelet on. it mixed in with the others he wore and he knew when he had to remove them for the audition, Adrien’s, plus the ones his mother and sister gave him on other occasions would be the only ones sitting under his button up.
“It’s perfect. Thank you. but you didn’t have to give me this.” he got up, took Adrien’s face and kissed him, smiling down at the dazed look he got. “I’ve got you.”
After Adrien had made him red all afternoon, watching the diplomate’s son flush red so quickly felt like retribution.
“Why are you like this?” he whined as he hide his face in Luka’s neck, Luka wrapping his arms around Adrien’s waist.
“What could you possibly mean?” he joked. “Hey, thank you though. I do love it. our rings would have reminded me of your support too.”
“I know, I just wanted you to have a dedicated good luck charm, like the one Marinette has. I thought the bracelet would also work for any charms your mom might have. You can’t tell me the Captain has brought out a few.”
“She has. My sweet boyfriend, thinking of all the things. What am I going to give you as a good luck charm?”
Adrien pulled away and tugged Luka down to kiss him. “I’ve got you.”
Ok, he deserved that.

Day 2 of Adrien AUGreste : Truth for @adrienaugust
He didn't remember when he reached his room, he didn't even remember detransformed or when exactly he parted way with Ladybug. He just did, and now he's in his room, on his bed to be precise. For how long, he doesn't know.
"What now?" The voice that was so similar to Plagg's voice asked (or maybe his voice) but he couldn't answer it, he just didn't have enough energy to do so and even if he had, what should he answer anyway?
"Adrien, drink this."
He lifted his head up from the pillow that he used to stuff his face with and saw Plagg with a glass of water in his hands. He looked worried, perhaps the most worried looks he ever saw from the years of time he had spent with the kwami and he shouldn't have worried him more than that. With whatever strength he had left, he pushed his body up from the bed and leaned his back against the wall before he accepted the glass. For a moment there he could see his own reflexion in it, a face that looked more tired than he had in his previous timeline despite looking much younger, green eyes that looked so dull that he wondered if there was any life in it anymore. If there's any means for his life-
"Adrien, please."
Right, he should be focused on Plagg rather than whatever dark whisper he heard. After all, Plagg was the only one who truly cared for him. Apart from his mother, not even Ladybug ever came close. No, never her . He amended and drank the water after muttering a thank you to him.  Perhaps there was a time when he thought Ladybug did care, but upon knowing the truth thanks to another time travelling akuma, he doubted it was the case.
If she cared, she would tell him about the reason why Rena Rouge (Furtive?) kept following them on patrol. If she cared, she would tell him the reason why she called him into the tower that night. But no, she didn't. She kept on silent even after he confronted her with the truth that he knew, because the akuma sent him back to those timeline, as if he knew what time to send him back. It's hurt, to be betrayed like this by someone who he once thought to be a partner despite them being chosen by a different person. (Perhaps, Adrien once thought, that was the reason why she always doubted him, never trusted him, because he came out of nowhere) but none of the pain from Ladybug's betrayal come as close as the betrayal from his own family.
'How come they just replaced me with a sentimonster of all things?' After what he had done to cure his mother nonetheless.
'Maybe a puppet is what they truly want.' He knew his father would, at least, after all those scolding and lecturing about how he must meet his father's standard for everything he did.
Don't let Adrien remember me as a bad father. The last word from his father sparked something inside him. It was only a chuckle at first before it became a hysteric laugh.
"Hey kid, you okay?"
"Maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm insane after all." He answered in the middle of his laugh. He let out a loud sigh and patted his cheeks several times before he answered more for confused Plagg.
"I always know he's never a good father. Perhaps there was a time when I thought he was just cold because he was busy and I kept disturbing him because, you know, I was a kid. But now I think again, I can't remember when exactly he ever became a good father and, as you already know, this is my third regression."
"And?"
"The fact that I couldn't even remember when he was a good father, even with the combined life I had before this, just made his last wish become ironic." He scoffed. "Don't let Adrien remember me as a bad father, he said. As if he was ever a decent father before that."
"You know kid? You, trying to find good memories of your father doesn't mean you're insane. I've seen people trying to find the most mundane thing that they believe to exist. You're only insane if you said your father is a hero and went to worship him." Plagg floated, cheese in his hands before it went into the void that was his stomach, which made him smile at the sight and rub his cheek on Plagg's head lightly. "So what are you going to do after this?"
"I don't know, sleep?"
"Are you sure you're not going to do with this?" He pointed to his phone next to his pillow. At first he was confused at what Plagg was referring to until he saw a headline from a notification on his phone.
Breaking news : Ladybug and Chat Noir defeated Monarch. Gabriel Agreste died in the crossfire when he tried to protect the young heroes from Monarch's attack.
He couldn't help but blink twice when he saw the notification, not believing what he had just read. He quickly took his phone and swiped right into the article and read it. Apparently, in his moment of daze (he was out of it for days???) Ladybug had already made an announcement about the result of their fight except… It's not the whole truth. She twisted the truth by saying Gabriel had sacrificed himself when Monarch tried to take their miraculous and, thanks to that heroic sacrifice of him, a statue will be built from the Alliance ring that was hacked by Monarch to honor  it.
"What? What the heck is this?" He asked in disbelief and Plagg could only shrug. "It's insane! How could she twist the truth like that?" He muttered before he swiped into another article, and another and another one, only for the result to be the same. It was the same twisted truth that Ladybug told the world about Gabriel's heroic sacrifice for the peace of the world and it made him feel sick.
He wondered if somehow his father had already got his hands on his and Ladybug's miraculous and this was the world that he created. Except no, his father never got his hands on his miraculous. He got Ladybug's earrings, which exposed her identity to both him and his father, but in the end he never get his ring and he could get the earrings back. So, no wish. Then what is this insanity that makes her do this?
"Forget sleeping," he said as he tossed his pillow and plushies aside before he climbed down from the bed and got dressed.
"Let's find out the truth from her."e
