When embarking on one of those tourist-only boats, I was dubious, if not apprehensive. It turns out that being part of such organised tours is one of the very few ways of seeing the beautiful karst formation of Cat Ba and Halong Bay. Occupying the upper deck’s sun loungers for a couple of hours wasn’t so bad after all. Niby jest popularna i sporawo turystów ale dalej jest coś w tej wyspie Skye. Czuć tę magię zwłaszcza na pustych drogach świeżo po deszczu (którego tu nie brakuje). • Jadąc dobre pare minut bez skrętu kierownicy, przeszło mi przez myśl, że droga którą jadę może wyglądać całkiem nieźle z góry. The internet lured me to the northwestern corner of the Isle of Skye promising turquoise beaches. It was tempting, but not convincing enough for me to jump in to those cold Scottish waters. Here, glancing at the Isle of Islay from the shores of Loch Dunvegan. 🇬🇧 • • • 🇵🇱 Internety zwabiły mnie do północno-zachodniego koniuszka wyspy Skye obiecując turkusowe plaże. Mimo że w środku lata, pogoda nie rozpieszczała na tyle, żebym wskoczył do tej lodówy! Jakby one nie były, Szkocję plaże na opalando to raczej słabo się nadają 😅. Tak jeszcze wiele do odkrycia w tych Chinach. Gęste lasy Yunanu wspomina się całkiem wesoło ale będąc tam wtedy nie było mi do śmiechu. Chmurzyska rozrzedzały się czasem i trochę słońca poprawiało humor. • Tutaj, gdzieś na skraju wapiennego klifu, zrobiliśmy sobie małą przerwę na rekonesans i kromkę z pasztetem. Wróciłbym tam chętnie z lepszą mapą i 4G. Dron chyba tez byłby zacnym gadżetem. • • Countless places still to be explored in China. Looking back on the time spent in the dense woods of Yunnan, I can’t help to smile. Though, it wasn’t a very joyful experience then. Every now and then the clouds would be dispersed and some sunlight would cheer us up. • Here, hanging at the edge of a cliff, we pause to regain a sense of direction and consume our nutritious lunch- a pate sandwich. Would love to come back there one day with a better map and 4G. Lesser known Stonehenge? Callanish stones is a mysterious set of megaliths erected over 5000 years ago. Being located in one of the remotest corners of Europe, the stones escaped the mass- touristic faith of Stonehenge.
