I imagine that the Dirkjake dynamic would be down on his luck partyboy and the estranged high school friend that coerced him into a drug dealing operation. For reasons he refuses to elaborate on. Jake doesn't really want to be cooking meth but he needs the cash and sees Dirk as the one stable thing in his life really. Dirk really needs a partner and an in to the business and is most of the brains behind the operation.

Dirk is also doing a fair bit of posturing to keep them both safe but Jake... hooo Jake. Dear whining Jake will become a loose cannon when it counts. The power balance would fluctuate alluringly.

To be honest I imagine their dynamic would be much closer to a hypothetical high school au turned drug-dealing and wouldn't be much like Walter and Jesse. Wanna think there would be a happy ending but realistically they'd sink into their worst traits & probably end up in a saw trap by the end of it. I wanna imagine most plot beats still happen... gf dies... "gale" dies... Codependent yaoi and corruption arc flourishes.

I imagine Dirk's wardrobe would start to resemble more and more of Bro's and some of his personality might too. But I also don't think he'd go as far or be as bad as Walter, since here there's a care and concern for Jake as more than a pawn and stand-in (aka the Walter special). Damage would still be done though. The love didn't save anyone etc etc.

Bro and Grandpa would have a dynamic MUCH closer to the s1/2 duo. Devil-may-care stoner and the guy who needs cash FAST and doesn't have time for this shit. I dont think Bro has the tender heart Jesse but he definitely develops some terrible loyalty complex regardless. Honestly have a LOT less idea how their story would go so I'm all ears

Well that was weird.

Earlier today, a Grandma dropped Grandpa and Grandkid (she was probably like 7) off at the theater to watch a movie. After the movie, they were sitting on the curb and waiting for her to pick them up again. Normal enough.

Except then a lady came in and first thing she said is "there's an old man and a little girl outside, has anyone called the police?"

I managed to get out of her that she was worried he was a pedophile that had kidnapped her from inside the building. He wasn't doing anything sketchy, she just didn't believe there's a non-pedo reason why a man would be alone with a child (in public, mind you, and I could see them through the window)

She calmed down when I told her that they got dropped off together and were just waiting for their ride to pick them up again.

Like, yeah, pedophile kidnappers exist, but that doesn't mean that every single man who has a kid with them is one, jfc.

Oh I'm sad to see people didn't like comic 7, I thought it was very well done.

This isn't an invitation to an argument, I just want to say my opinion because I'm seeing a lot of people criticising the last chapter.

We got a lot of answers and everything that seemed conveniently placed for plot was completely in the scope of how the previous stories have worked before. I thought it was funny that soldier lived in a cave of Australium. It's just as convenient as Medic having a deal with the devil and the mercs being unable to die. Or Grey Mann having a daughter who no one wants to punch in a fist fight. Or Sniper's parents coincidentally being involved with the sinking of New Zealand.

I think it was a very good choice to not let the mercs do anything plot driving in this chapter, because this conflict was never a conflict that could have been ended by the mercs. They wouldn't even have cared, heh. We've known that everything was carefully orchestrated by the Admin, so it could only have been resolved by those who are part of the bigger conflict. Hence Miss Pauling, the Admin and Saxton do most of the plot. Everyone else already had a lot of screen time in the previous chapters, but none of their stories were truly contributing to the actual conflict at hand, so the story can't come to an end until we actually see the person who's been pulling the threads actually come to terms with what she was doing. I'm very happy that her ultimate plan turned out to just be a pointless act of revenge, since we've all known from the start that the gravel wars are pointless. This is just one more dimension deeper into how pointless it is.

Managing to resolve the story and making sure all characters receive a happy end the way they did was more than I had hoped for comic 7. But just to summarise how I think everyone received their peace of mind across all comics:

1. Sniper: Finds out he's adopted -> figures out his step parents were his true family after all

2. Spy: Really wants to tell Scout that he's his dad -> actually manages to say the words, even if he wasn't honest with his appearance

3. Soldier: Delusional hater of commies -> marries a Russian woman and stops claiming racist things, because Zhanna as a person was more important to him than whatever he believed about Russian people. Still weird, not with less delusion but genuinely a sweet father and husband. Exaggerated and maximally silly way of how to actually change people's racist opinions in real life.

4. Scout: Upset that he can't get laid and thinks he has to be More Man -> glows up by becoming a dad who steps up and is less preoccupied with getting the girl of his dreams. His kids are what matters to him now and he becomes like his mom

5. Heavy: Worried about his family in Siberia -> his sisters show him they don't need him to protect them all the time and everyone moves to America so he can be with them. His sisters get to live freely.

6. Engineer: Is involved with the conflict since his grandpa, and is contractually unable to stop it -> tells Miss Pauling to sink all Australium in a trench so this never happens again

7. Saxton Hale: Wants to go back to the time when he was still actively doing things, gets his company stolen -> gets his company back but realises it doesn't make him happy. Leaves his company and joins Maggie again because fighting alongside her was what he's always wanted since we got glimpses of his past

8. Miss Pauling: Thinks the Administrator has a great plan that desperately needs her -> learns the plan was nothing at all and decides on the spot to end it by not giving Admin any more Australium because she realises she has been feeding into the conflict

Medic, Demoman, and Pyro never had a personal conflict to resolve. Medic had his moments to shine by sabotaging TFC and being in hell then coming back. Demoman had his arc with his liver leaving him and defeating the robots due to the alcohol in his blood. Medic scooped out parts of his brain to keep him unquestioning about his eye. Pyro is just a very simple character, and I say that with no judgement at all. Pyro is happy with arson, but also with a Dalmatian as their pet.

Everyone is still friends with each other and have their own little families. They come together to celebrate Smissmass at Scout's place. I think Saxton's last line "or do you want to live forever" was so well placed, being a nod to the meme from Expiration Date, as well as pointing out that, obviously, things have to come to an end we should embrace that ending when we see it's time.

And as always. If anyone doesn't like that any of these things, we are still free to make our own stories and reinterpret characters.

trolls headcanons because i’m bored!! i have a couple other posts on my @obesessedwithjohndory account however im posting this from my phone and can’t get into that account on here but anyways enjoy the hcs <3

john dory and branch hatched early, bruce and floyd were late, clay was right on time

john dory is named after rosipuff’s husband/ the boys’ grandpa who died before he was born

john dory gives branch a pair of old goggles and he wears them whenever they go to events etc

the glasses branch wears in both ‘perfect’ scenes in the movie originally belonged to john dory when he was a baby

john dory is like spencer from icarly, they always tease him for never having friends his own age etc because he lives in pop village and hangs around with branch, floyd, poppy etc and they’re significantly younger than him

bruce’s favourite song is the copacabana

bruce loves seeing his kids play with their uncles

sometimes when critics come to review his restaurant he gets his brothers to come for support because despite them always leaving good reviews he always gets really anxious

bruce would love the troll version of gordon ramsay but would definitely not want him coming to his restaurant because he’d probably pass away

his kids didn’t believe he was in a band because he was very hesitant of putting brozone songs on etc

he teaches them the old choreography

clay has made his bedroom very cosy despite it being in the admin building of the golf course like it’s got fairy lights and photos of his bros + poppy & viva

clay has had a crush on viva ever since he first met her when they were little

he rarely brushes his hair, not because he doesn’t want to, just because he forgets because he’s busy doing his cpa work

clay has 2 sad book clubs, one for his friends (even though he calls them his associates) and one for his bros, viva + poppy

floyd has lots of piercings, eyebrow, lip, ears, nose etc

he was definitely wild in his teenager years, always partying, drinking and whatnot

he’s had A LOT of boyfriends in the 20 years they were apart, mainly pop or rock trolls

hes very rebellious for the first couple months after they all reunite, he’s always like “i beat death, what do you mean i can’t go skydiving?”

floyd and barb would be best friends

he’s the one to help his brothers stop arguing after a fight, it’s almost giving “don’t be like this, this isn’t like you” (☠️☠️)

branch has a lot of collectible items he found over the years when he was in his grey state

sometimes to have a laugh he’ll steal john dory’s goggles and hide them somewhere in the bunker just to see him stress out looking for them, and they’re always usually in an obvious spot like on top of a cupboard or something

john dory gave him an old photo album and he likes looking through it because he likes seeing all his brothers when they were younger

branch is a lightweight

sometimes when he’s with john dory, he’ll subconsciously rest his head on his shoulder and has fallen asleep a handful of times

and he has most definitely called john dory dad more than once

Hey! Hi! Hello!

A little update, bullet-point style:

Things are going well. Going back to teaching has been the BEST decision I could have made! I LOVE my team, admin, students, families, and everyone else. After only teaching kindergarten for four years and first grade for ten years, I am loving teaching fourth grade.

I taught at this same school before (my first year in this district, 12 years ago). It was not a good year. At all. I swore I would never teach here again. And, here I am. It is completely different. It feels like home and I can see myself teaching here for a long time.

I really wanted to be back at the school I was at before taking a break. I was there for nine years. I didn't want to teach above second grade. I am so incredibly thankful things worked out the way they did.

Ramsey is good. He's still doing Ramsey things. :)

I still love New York, as you can see from the picture Ramsey plopped down on and the snow globe.

My dad is good. He turned 80 last May. He takes care of Ramsey every now and then. We call it Grandpa Camp. Ramsey is actually at Grandpa Camp right now.

I still love flowers. And candles. And all cozy things.

The flowers in the picture are from my brother and sister-in-law. They dropped them off today because....it's my birthday!

I got an early birthday "gift"....influenza A. Ugh. I missed work on Thursday and Friday.

I feel fine today, except I don't have a voice. So, another day off tomorrow, and another set of sub plans to write.

I didn't do anything to celebrate my birthday, which is fine. I was having issues with this birthday number for some reason. Maybe this will be the year I grow up. :)
