If I recall correctly, it was only four years ago.

Every Sunday, for three whole months, someone would go missing. They're all presumed dead now, but it's not like the bodies were ever found. Each one of them just a plain old layman: family, job, friends, and then it'd all be gone by noon. No amount of investigation, no amount of enquiry ever brought up results. The biggest clue they'd ever got a hold of was the old reverend past claiming he'd seen the devil roaming the parsonage grounds at night.

It wasn't like he was far off.

A six year old girl, that was the cause. Thirteen disappearances were all caused by a child and one that was so small, too. I'm not even convinced it was just thirteen. There's no way there wasn't at least some more.

Because, in this town, a six year old girl and a living demon of a fox are all the same. For a beast like that, nothing is off the plate, not even the visceral meats that make up our own bodies. Suppose if you're desperate enough, not even the grotesque is out of consideration. Besides, I don't think a starved beast like that really thinks about the moral weight to its meal. It just eats.

It's not like she remembers them. She doesn't remember the cries of the chased or the sounds of their crushing bones in that beast's jaws, nor their bodies staining the pure snow that had freshly laid the night before. None of it. Not a single memory. All she knows is that she always felt full by Monday morning, even if she could never recall having a single meal the night prior.

oh yeah there was a big fight in the chasm with kabukimono, the cat, a friend of them, all against this witch that wanted to kidnap them and experiment on them. the cat sacrificed itself by tackling the witch into the chasm, then another witch came and saved the day, but the cat is really weakened now

Good to know they survived. Tell Kabukimono to be more aware of his surroundings, and that he also isn't safe against Dottore while outside of Sumeru.
