i obviously didnt expect the story or lore to be groundbreaking, i know what franchsie this is after all, but i dont think you can fault me for hoping for a bit more nuance/interesting story, especially considering how they made a point keeping it vague and oh so mysterious when its all the same stuff again except zelda is gone (though i doubt they will keep it that way, im not through with the game yet do NOT spoil me on stuff, these are my CURRENT thoughts)

the gameplay is mostly fun, the music is great, and i do feel like the side characters were given more attention, which is great, but overall, so far, i feel a little .. empty, no in the sense that the world is empty, bc it absolutely isnt, but after having found all dragon tears that i know of i sorta lost the feeling of intrigue and a hollow one took its place i will form my final opinion on it once im all done playing the game which i am far from, but so far it really, unfortunately, feels like slightly expanded botw but replace all sheikah tech with sonau tech with no explanation given as to why the former is both nearly entirely gone and why no one cares anymore

so .. i did all the glyphs (but by far not all dungeons and theres still ton to do) and boi

i feel weird about saying this but i am … not invested at all in the story, like even the stuff with zelda (a plotpoint which i called out correctly right shortly after the beginning even lol) didnt get to me even a little bit and ganondorf feels even flatter as a character than before :I

Welp, I don’t have internet and I dunno if it’s the power outage down the street but not at my house, or if there’s something broken that I’ll have to pay $$ to fix, and wait until after the snowstorm and not be able to work until it’s done.

Now that I’m typing this, I can’t explain why power outside my house would impact my internet, but I also don’t believe in coincidences and the two went out at roughly the same time. (My power company texted me about an outage as I was calling family a mile away to ask if they had internet.)

maybe I’m misreading tone and I’m sorry if I am but maybe energy like “if this is the same anon from confessmau...” and “I wish this was a copypasta” and the Um Actually nitpicky energy that flooded the Confessmau ask with “Brothers in arms doesn’t mean brothers!!” And “The list isn’t canon!!” being directed at someone who basically says “I think MCD Garrance is a brotherly relationship and I hate and am frustrated about feeling alone in this feeling” is why people feel like saying I don’t like Garrance is confession blog worthy!! Cause having any strong negative emotions about it is treated like...cringe??? Like it’s weird???? Like you seriously think someone thinking Garroth and Laurence have a brotherly relationship is this fabdom’s level of Vaporeon Is The Most Breedable?

I’m not that anon but I also don’t ship Garrance and it’s reactions like That thag make me feel like I can’t fucking say it without being all sweet abd understanding and saying something about how good of a ship it is, or hiding behind an anon button. So yeah those reactions just kind of pissed me off on their behalf. I get it’s not thqt serious, not even in regards to the issues this fandom has, but it still just. Come on. Asks like that are a dime a dozen in regards to ships and characters, but that’s the one that’s “weird”? That’s the one that needs citations attached? We can say ship wars are dead but boy when someone says they don’t like Garrance some of that energy sure does come back.

Honestly i still don't quite get how the Nine Houses as a society work, logistically, and thinking about it breaks my brain a little, because the only characters from the Nine Houses that we meet are either nobles, soldiers or clerics or some combination thereof. Are there necromancers who just have normal jobs? Are there any people at all who have normal jobs or is any work, at all, ever, done by skeletons and all the alive people are occupied with politicking, dying in the blood space war, being in a library or being in church

profusely curious about what the new OST for OFF will sound like when we have all of it. we only have the one battle theme so far and while it's nice it hasn't like, convinced me entirely? it could be the electro swing-ish vibe that i haven't been that into for years now, but it's also not enough to really go off of without the further context of the ambient tracks. peper steak is a huge outlier in the original OST in terms of its mood anyway so i imagine it also makes sense for white meat to fill a similar tonal role this time around, which makes it even harder for me to construct my opinion on it because i don't know how much it is an outlier here if that's even a correct guess for me to make. not to mention that the task of replacing such an iconic OST is already a monumental task and no matter what toby fox or anyone else does they can at best strive for an experience that honors the original and is maybe as good as it, but ultimately different and fundamentally unable to surpass its predecessor for reasons ranging from nostalgia to very iconic and particular aesthetic that you shouldn't get too stuck to copying

idk if this makes sense im just craving to hear more because this aspect of the new release is incredibly interesting to me

i respect it greatly cuz canon basis is SO STRONG - its honestly a ballpark of its own to me i cant deny the realness of it its the only other law ship thats feasible/acceptable to me. also i love how creepy and weird the jpn/kr artists fans of the ship draw law its pretty great (im jealous that there are many of them but i shake their hand from the safe distance)
