The bright sun shone through the large windows of the waiting room at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as you paced nervously in the waiting room. The thought of the upcoming check-up with Dr. Addison Montgomery made your heart beat faster even though you repeated this year after year. Despite your fears, you knew it was important to get regular checkups, especially after you noticed some unusual symptoms.
When you were finally called, you followed the nurse through the corridors of the gynecological clinic until you finally stood in front of the door to the treatment room. Once inside, Dr. Montgomery greeted you with a warm smile. "Welcome back, y/n. How are you today?"
You forced a smile, concern for your health and life's obstacles overshadowing your usual demeanor. "Thanks, I'm feeling okay so far. I'm here for a checkup because I've noticed a few symptoms that are worrying me."
Addison nodded understandingly and asked you to take a seat. However, as she began to ask the usual questions, she immediately noticed that something was wrong. Your posture was stiff, your answers were short, and you seemed uncomfortable. Quite the opposite from the last times she had seen you. "Can you tell me about the symptoms you've been noticing lately?" She asked softly and you hesitated for a moment before answering. "Well, I have unusual pulling and pressure in my abdomen. I feel very tired in general but I think that's probably just normal."
The redhead frowned slightly as she began to do the examination. When she gestured with her hand to ask you to sit on the exam chair, you flinched and promptly avoided making eye contact with her. "I´m sorry..." you simply interjected and as you continued to sit on the chair, Addison felt an inexplicable restlessness arise within her.
She watched you carefully as she took swabs and checked to see what was going on. As she did so, she recognized subtle signs of fear and insecurity manifesting in your behavior that she had never seen in you before. It was as if there was something in the air, something unspoken, standing between them and demanding their attention. She could practically feel the tension surrounding you, and her instincts told her that there was more going on here than what seemed like a checkup.
After she had also completed an ultrasound on you, Addison sat down on the lounger next to you and quickly decided to ask carefully. "I want to be honest with you. I noticed some signs during the exams that could indicate something might be wrong. I think it might be helpful if you talked about it." She murmured questioningly, placing a soothing hand on your thigh, making you jump at the touch as well.
You looked at her in surprise, your eyes fixed on her with relief. But only hesitantly did you begin to talk about your concerns, which went far beyond the physical symptoms. "Promise you won't tell anyone?" The person you spoke to nodded at you, giving you time to express yourself. She sensed that there was more here than your body had yet revealed, and she wanted to give you the opportunity to open up when you were ready. "I'm your doctor, y/n. Everything you tell me is confidential."
You swallowed hard before finally finding the courage to say the words you had suppressed for so long. "It's my father," you began hesitantly and the gynecologist listened attentively without interrupting. "Since the pandemic and losing his job, he's... he's not exactly... friendly to me."
The reticence and fear had crumbled as you revealed the truth about your home situation to her. You confessed to the constant insults, humiliation and physical abuse you endured from your father and Addison continued to listen intently, offering you an empathetic embrace of comfort and support as you revealed the painful details of your abuse.
When you finished, an oppressive silence fell across the room. Addison felt the weight of your words on her own shoulders. She felt powerless in the face of the suffering you had to endure at such a young age, an inner anger boiling up towards your parents and at the same time a burning desire deep inside her to help you. "Thank you, y/n, for trusting me," she finally spoke in a quiet voice and rubbed your shoulder reassuringly. This time you didn't flinch. "What has been done to you and continues to happen to you is unacceptable and you deserve to be safe and protected. I will do everything in my power to help you get out of this situation."
The shock of what she had heard was deep within her, but she forced herself to remain calm and empathetic. Her first priority was to reassure you that you were safe and that she would help you. She hugged you gently and held you close to her, giving your tears a place to disappear. "Please believe me when I say that you are safe here," she began to speak to you calmly. "No one will hurt you in front of me and if it happens again, you come straight to me, okay?"
You lowered your gaze, tears glistening in your eyes as you let yourself fall into her embrace, feeling the instant warmth and comfort she offered you. For a moment you felt safe, surrounded by the care of this remarkable woman who was willing to stand up for you. “Thank you, Dr. Montgomery,” you whispered, your voice shaking. "It means so much to me to know I'm not alone."
Addison smiled softly and rubbed your back. "From now on it's Addison. I think we're past the formal part. And of course, I'll help you through the difficult times, and I'll be by your side as long as you need me."
At that moment, you knew you had made the right decision to reach out to her. You felt strengthened by her words and beneath all the vulnerability you showed there was also a spark of hope. Hope that you weren't alone, that there were people who cared about you and were ready to help you when you needed it. You felt relieved that you had confided in someone, and Addison promised to support you every step of the way, whether through further testing, therapy, or any other form of police or court help you needed.
As you left the office, you felt a little more confident with her personal phone number and address. Addison Montgomery, who promised to protect you if your father became abusive again and you needed a place to stay. You knew that from now on you were no longer alone but had found an ally in her in the fight against the darkness that surrounded you.
ᕚ---ᕘ
In the weeks that followed, Addison Montgomery and you developed a deep bond that went beyond the boundaries of an ordinary doctor-patient relationship. She had given you her personal address and phone number in case you ever had to run away from home and didn't know where to go. The gesture of care had touched you deeply and shown you that you were not just a patient, but now also had a friendship that you could rely on.
The conversations between the two of you became more and more open and intimate as you worked together to come up with a plan to get yourself out of the dangerous situation you found yourself in. And one Saturday morning, after you had escaped from your father's attacks and came to her, Addison offered to take you in and give you a safe haven, away from your parents' abuse and humiliation.
At first you were unsure whether you should accept the offer. The fear of the unknown, the worry of the consequences, and the fear of becoming too much for Addison held you back. But in the end, your trust, the hope for a better life and the love that she conveyed to you every day prevailed.
At midnight on that same warm spring night, you packed your few belongings and made your way to Addison's house. As you opened the door, a feeling of relief and freedom washed over you. The redhead welcomed you with open arms and a warm, loving smile that showed you that you were finally safe and that she would never let anything happen to you again.
Over the coming weeks and months, you began to settle into your new home, helping Addison with Henry while she was at work. Under her loving care, you slowly blossomed, gained self-confidence, and finally found the courage to leave your past behind you.
Addison supported you every step of the way in your healing, whether it was through therapeutic conversations, medical care, or just her unconditional love and support. Together you went through ups and downs, but you always stood by each other, determined to overcome the darkness together and step into the light of a better future. Your connection was strong, characterized by mutual respect, trust and love and you knew that you would be connected forever.

It sucks when your whole life gets turned upside down. A group of friends being torn apart because of an adulterous act. Derek had come home one night to see his wife Addison Montgomery in bed with his best friend Mark Sloan... Mark Sloan just happened to be the boyfriend of y/n L/n. Both Addison and Mark cheated on Derek and y/n. Ruining their relationships forever.
Y/n felt terrible, her heart ached. She felt like she should have seen it coming, she thought she should have seen the signals. She was mad and heartbroken when I found out Mark cheated on her with Addison. Most of all, she was angry at Addison for cheating on Derek. Derek was y/n’s best friend and seeing him that heartbroken hurt worse.
Derek hated both Addison and Mark. Not only did they ruin his relationship and marriage, but they also hurt y/n as well. Derek was so upset that he decided to leave town. He was tired of the lies from Addison and Mark. He just wanted to move on. He knew he couldn't if he stayed there. That's when he and y/n made the move to Seattle together.
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
They both got drunk the first night they were in Seattle. Derek and her went to this small bar that was across the street from the hospital. Y/n never got drunk, she didn't like drinking but that's just how the night went. And too bad it took them being drunk to realize there was something between them.
Once they got drunk Derek started noticing things about her he had never noticed before. He started to see her in a new light. It made him see how beautiful she was. His feelings for her grew the more drunk they got.
“God I hate him” y/n rambled about Mark. “I wish I never fell in love with him”
Derek listened to everything y/n had to say. He hated that she loved a man like Mark. She deserved so much better. Derek couldn't wait to show her how much better he was for her…
“I hate her too” y/n sighed then looked over at Derek, there was just something there she hadn't noticed before. They always had some kinda connection, but always played it off as being best friend
She noticed his smile, his blue eyes. She always considered him a platonic soulmate, but maybe... Just maybe there was something more. Derek looked over at y/n. Her lips looked so soft. Her hair was perfectly curled. She stood out like a diamond, She was beautiful. Derek had never thought he would feel this way towards her. But as the night went on he realized there was something inside of him that was growing for her. He realized that he was falling in love with her. He had never felt this way before for anyone.
They both sat there wondering what would have happened if they chose each other instead of Mark and Addison. Derek always wondered what it would be like if y/n chose him over Mark. If y/n had chosen him, Addison would never have broken his heart. Would they have settled down with each other and had children? Had a family? The thoughts were racing through Derek's mind while he continued to stare at y/n. He wanted to make his move.
“Why are you looking at me like That?” she chuckled drunkenly.
Derek didn't realize that his lustful gaze was showing. He felt his cheeks burn red from embarrassment. He cleared his throat. “because your beautiful”
She blushed and looked away. “your just saying that”
Derek wanted her to know she was beautiful and he wasn't just saying that. He moved closer to her. “no. I mean it. You're so beautiful. I've never told you that before. But I'm gonna tell you now. You're gorgeous…”
She don't know what possessed her, but she placed her hand on his jaw and pressed her lips to his. Derek was absolutely shocked when y/n pressed her lips to his, that she had initiated it first. He pulled away, staring into her eyes. “Mark is stupid for letting something as amazing as you go” Derek whispered, he had been wanting this for so long. Derek immediately placed his hands on her hips and pulled her close to him. He kissed her with all the emotion and longing that had built up inside of him. He wanted her and he was going to get her.
Her lips parted and gently brushed her tongue against his lips, running her fingers through his hair
He kept kissing her deeply as he ran his hands up her torso, towards her neck. Derek couldn't wait to explore every inch of her.
Y/n slowly pulled away, resting her forehead against his as she tried to catch her breath and tried to focus my drunken mind. Now all logic was throwing away, she inched her face closer to his again, nudging her nose against his, hovering her lips over his. She couldn't get enough of the intoxicating scent of his cologne. Her eyes were fixed downward,watching his hands roam the outline of her body.
Derek's hands wrapped around her waist as he pulled her closer to him. They were both losing reason and logic. They were caught up in the moment. Derek felt their warmth building between them and it was turning him on, He wanted more. His hands wandered up her back now and they slowly ran through her hair. The smell of lavender wafted up to his nose and he was lost in her.
Before things could get too far, y/n pressed her hands to his chest, stopping him. “you wanna get out of here?”
Derek quickly nodded. “yeah, let's get out of here”
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
As soon as they got back to the trailer, her lips were back on his, the kiss was messy and rushed. Y/n quickly pushed his jacket off his shoulders as he pushed her backwards towards the kitchen counter. She moaned against his lips, running her fingers through his hair. Getting them lost in his soft, perfect hair.
Derek was absolutely stunned by her boldness. This was the moment he had been longing for all this time. He was ecstatic that she was finally showing him this side of her. He threw his coat to the side with the rest of their stuff and began to kiss her with more passion. His hands roamed from her back down her body, giving her ass a squeeze. He was feeling her up the way he had wanted to since the moment he met her.
He couldn't help but want more. His hands squeezed her butt and his lips kept on exploring hers while he moved her back towards the bed. His body was pushed against hers and he leaned her back. There was no going back now. Y/n fell backwards on his bed, pulling him down with her. She moaned softly, tugging on his hair as his lips and the scruff on his jaw brushed against her neck.
Derek loved her reaction, the moans she let out were sending shivers down his spine. Her touch felt so good on him. Derek could feel her body pressing against his. He was enjoying her just as much as she was enjoying him. He wanted to kiss every inch of her. He finally had the chance to make her his and he wasn't going to let her slip away from him.
“D-derek” she moaned softly.
Derek loved how his name coming from her mouth sounded. Hearing her breathless voice gave him everything he needed to continue on with her. His hands ran up and down her body and his lips traveled across her neck and down to her shoulders. His mouth was finally exploring her body in ways that he had wished he could do for so long. His scruff was rough on her soft skin. His lips were gentle and tender. His touch was so hot and passionate. He loved the way she tasted and smelled, every inch of her was perfect to him.
They were running on nothing but alcohol, bottled up feelings, and passion. Their clothes were gone in seconds and they fell into each other's temptations.
--------(1st pov)--------
The next morning I woke up with a hangover, my head was pounding. I looked around and noticed I was in Derek's bed and not my own. I peaked under the covers and we were both naked. Derek was still asleep, I slowly sat up and grabbed his red shirt from last night and covered my bare chest with it. I sat there processing the whole night, I didn't feel regret or anything, but when something feels so good, how can it not be bad. “Derek, wake up” I said, nudging his naked shoulder.
Derek's eyes slowly opened and he sat up from the bed, stretching and yawning. He turned his head in my direction and he froze when he noticed his shirt covering my chest. His eyes grew wide, but there was a smirk on his face.
“So... Umm…” I looked down shyly. “we umm... Last night, didn't we?” I asked softly.
Derek laid on his back, smirking to himself. “yeah… Yeah we did”
I moved my messy hair out of my face. “we're no better than them,” I mumbled, thinking about Addison and Mark. They slept together, they were in the wrong, but what about us?.
Even if I was right or wrong, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief from last night. The bond we formed last night was undeniable. I had wanted him for so long and we finally had our chance. Mark and Addison may have won the battle, but there was this feeling that we were gonna win the war.
I fell backwards in the bed, laying on my back next to him. I rubbed my face processing everything. I didn't regret it one bit, but I wished it happened at a different time. “God... I just had sex with a married man” I mumbled, covering my face.
He rolled over on his side, facing me. He kissed my shoulder with a smirk on his face. “Separated... I'm not with Addison anymore” he kissed my cheek then looked at me with those pretty blue eyes. “and I gotta say... That was the best sex I ever had…”
I uncovered my face and turned my head towards him, smiling. “Dito”
Derek smiled. “Do you... umm... regret what we did last night?”
“No... Do you?” I asked softly.
Derek shook his head in a no. “I wanted to do that for so long.” he leaned forward and brushed his lips against mine for a soft loving kiss.
Derek pulled me close, kissing me deeply with no regrets between us. My heart fluttered as he kissed me passionately. This feeling was so new to me, but definitely wanted. His hands grabbed my hips and pulled me against his chest. The scruff on his jaw hitting my chin and cheeks. I smirked against his lips and placed my hand on his jaw, feeling the scruff that peppered his jaw. I pulled away from the kiss and rested my forehead against his, I rubbed my thumb over his cheek gently. “like this...” I mumbled, referring to his scruff. When he was with Addison he was always clean shaved. She liked it that way, I didn't matter if he wanted to let it grow.
“You like it?” his eyebrow raised with a smirk on his face.
“Yeah... It's sexy”
When he was with Addison he definitely shaved daily. But he was trying keep his scruff now. He liked the way he looked with a little bit of scruff now. He kissed my cheek slowly. “I'll keep it for you then” he smirked again.
I smiled, pulling him down for another kiss and slowly ran my fingers through his hair. I pulled away from the kiss gently. “we need to get ready for work...”
“yeah... First day” Derek chuckled and kissed my nose before climed out of bed.
~~~~~~~~(few months later)~~~~~~~~
I had to admit Seattle was just a better place to be than new York. No one knew us except Richard Webber, he still didn't know about our relationship and that was okay. As the months went by it was made clear that our firsr night here ment everything. We just fit too well together, even if that sounded cheesy. Being beat friends in the past nothing much changed except we were now kissing, cuddling, and having quickies in the shower.
Mark had tried to call me numerous of times, I hadn't awnsered once. I wasn't ready to talk to him, but I think I was ready to forgive him. I had moved on and was happy with Derek, so there was no reason to hate him. Addison is a different story. I couldn't believe it when she showed up in Seattle.
“Addison... what are you doing here?” Derek asked.
I couldn’t even looked Addison in the eyes. I kept my head down and my anger bottled up.
“you would have know if you had botherd to return any one of my phone calls” Addison turned to me. “or awnsered the phone when Mark calls”
“I have nothing to say to him” I said bitterly.
“of course not, your too busy screwing my husband” Addison shot back.
“that's rich” I snapped back. “you were too busy screwing my boyfriend”
Derek grabed my arm, rubbing it affectionately. He stared at Addison with betrayal and anger. “is there something you need? What are you doing here?”
Addison had a smug look on her face as she looked Derek up and down. I couldn't help but feel territorial, but at the same time insucre. I always thought Addison was prettier than me.
“your hair is different” Addison said, dodging the subject. She went to reach for his hair, but I pushed her hand away. Derek smirked slightly, but it disappeared and he turned back to Addison. “a lot of things are different”
“it's longer” Addison continued. “what's your problem?” I asked annoyed.
“what are you doing here?” Derek asked again.
“Relax, guys, I'm here for work. I'm helming the T.T.T.S. case you guys admitted last week. And after Richard's briefing...” Addison said, rolling her eyes.
“bullshit” I said. I didn't believe a word that came out of this woman's mouth. “I swear to God, if you brought Mark with you...”
“it's cute...” Addison started sarcastically. “That whole wide-eyed "ooh, he's a brain surgeon" act you have going on... It's sweet. Which is what you were going for, right? The anti-Addison”
I shook my head, staring daggers into her. She smirked like she had the upper hand now. I didn't know it was possible to love and hate someone so much. Addison was always like an older sister to me, I looked up to her and wanted to be like her. Not now she betrayed me... But in a sences I betrayed her too.
“let's go” Derek said in a hard tone and grabed my hand. I looked into Addison's eyes and showed her nothing but hurt as Derek pulled me away.
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
“why is she back!?” I yelled at Derek.
“I don't know! Why are you yelling at me?” Derek snapped back as he paced back and forth in his trailer. I don't know why we were taking this out on each other, it hurt we resorted to this.
“I don't know!” I sighed and sat down on his bed, rubbing my face in frustration. I think we weren't yelling at each other, just yelling in general. We were both frustrated.
Derek sighed and gave me a gental expression. “you know her coming here means nothing, right?”
I looked up at him, I trusted him but I just had to ask. “nothing between us changes?”
His blue eyes stared into my soul. I loved his eyes, I could just drown in them. “nothing changes... Hell, I'll devorce her”
He held his hand out to me and I took it. “I promise” he said softly and knelt infront me where I was setting so we were eye level. “we're not gonna lose each other... Not again”
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
Then Mark came back...
Unlike when Addison showed up, I was just hurt to see him. I hadn't thought about him since me and derek started dating, but when I saw his face all that hurt and betrayal came rushing back.
The first time he visited Seattle he was on the ground and thanks to Derek I was the one that had to stich him him up. Richard sent me and Mark to the ER and Richard was chewing Derek out for the punch. That's when Richard found out about Addison and Mark's affair.
“you look amazing” Mark said as I got out the supplies to stich up his cheek. I ignored him as I tried to keep my anger and disappointment bottled up.
I cleared my throat and placed a towel on his shoulder and tried to get a decent angle to stich his cheek.
“here” Mark mumbled and to my dismay he pulled me in between by my hips so I could be closer. “thats better” he smirked.
I sighed and dropped the tweezers. “you think your funny?”
“I think I'm adorable” he smirked. I rolled my eyes and stiched up the gash. I sighed using the technique mark taught me long ago.
“I missed you... I really do” he said as I placed a bandaged on. I tried to stay silent but Mark wasn't having it. “will you please say something?”
I slammed the tweezers on the tray with a loud clink then turned towrds Mark. “What do you want me to say? I don't want you here and and sure as hell don't want Addison here”
Mark looked down staying silent. “I'm sorry”
I rolled my eyes tired of his sorrys. I did miss him and hell I unfortunately still cared for him, but every time I looked at him all I can think of is him in bed with Addison.
I gulped and looked at him as I felt the tears form. “I'll see ya around Mark”
“bye...” he said barly above a whisper.
--------(3rd pov)--------
Mark and Addison from a far, confused on what they were seeing. They just couldn't understand how fast y/n and derek fell for each other. Addison scolded herself for not seeing the signs earlier, but when she looks back she could see the way Derek looked at y/n.
“Derek never looked at me the way he looks at here” Addison said in a monotone voice.
Mark crossed his arms, staring at the new couple. He feeling so many different things it confused him. He wanted to fix his friendship with Derek, but everytime he saw his arm around y/n he just wanted to break it. Then on the other hand his heart broke seeing y/n smile and derek and not him, but he loved her enough to feel some sorta relief he didn't totally break her and she was happy.
“y/n looked at me like that... Every day we we're together” Mark said. “and I screwed it up big time”
Addison glanced at him, part of her felt fear Mark regreted being with her. It ment she lost two men she loved. She felt selfish for feeling like that, not only did she lose a husband she lost her closest female friend. This whole situation was a mess and she knew it.
Mark glanced at her, his blue eyes showing nothing but pain. “if I could turn back time I would in a heart beat”
Mark still loved her, but he loved her enough to let her go. At least he knew he could trust Derek not to hurt her. “let go of your pride addie, if you think Derek will leave n/n your crazy”
Addison raised an eyebrow at him, like she thought he was some kinda hypocrite. “well, y/n isn't leaving Derek for you”
“yeah... And I just need to learn to deal with that” Mark sighed, giving y/n and derek one last glance before leaving.
Addison Montgomery x fem! Reader
Could I please have an imagine where the reader is Meredith’s childhood best friend that came to work at Seattle Grace with her. While Meredith is pining for McDreamy her best friend wants McDreamy’s wife. (Imagine all of the hilarious and awkward moments this would result in).
Tumblr media
Hi! I couldn't figure out how to turn this into a oneshot, so I just gave you a shit ton few scenarios!!
Sitting at lunch and getting the whole McDreamy situation out of Meredith and Cristina and Izzie spilling more to you than Meredith
Standing at the nurses station with MAGIC and Addison is on the other side of the station filling out a chart
She has her glasses on.
And her white coat.
And she's wearing black heels with a nice professional dress.
Mommy.
And you can't take your eyes off of her and you lean into Meredith and ask, "Who is that?"
She responds, "McDreamy's wife."
"So, is she into the whole adultery thing too?"
Cristina chimes in, "Considering that's why they seperated, I'd say so."
You can't stop thinking about McMommy Addison for weeks
Then, you're assigned to a case with her.
You get incredibly involved with your patients
Addison admires you so much for it.
"The world needs more doctors like you," she says after a crash C-section.
You ask, "And what do I have?"
"Empathy. You don't see very many doctors who want to get to know their patients. Most of them just see them as something they can cut into."
You're on her service almost every day for the next few months.
Asking Dr. Bailey, "Can't I have another assignment?"
Her responding, "Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd asked for you specifically, take it up with her."
But you didn't want to take it up with her.
At lunch, George brings it up and you say, "Meh, I don't really mind it."
But you start blushing.
And Cristina and Meredith start teasing you.
"Oh, she's got a crush on McDreamy's wife."
"George says, You can't have a crush on her, she's married."
"So is Derek and I still slept with him."
Cristina grins, "No wonder she has you on her service every day. You're her little bitch."
You insist that it's not true.
They continue teasing you until your pager goes off.
"Aw, is it Addison?"
"Give her a kiss for us!"
They continue making kissy faces the entire time you leave.
The first time you two kiss it's after you lost an OB patient.
Both of your emotions are running high.
You're trying to calm yourself down in an on-call room
She comes in and tries to comfort you
"It'll be okay."
"How are you so calm about this?"
"Well, eventually, you learn how to cope. You'll never get used to it, but you'll learn how to cope."
You lift your head off her shoulder and look at her in the eyes
Then your eyes flicker to her lips
And hers do the same
You finally give in and press your lips to hers
She returns the kiss and suddenly both of your scrubs are on the floor
Months of longing looks and pining and private moments in the elevator, you want to make your relationship official, but you know you can't
You're both in an on-call room once again making out
You pull away quickly and stop her
"Addison we shouldn't be doing this"
"What do you mean?"
"You...Addison, you're still married. And until you file for divorce, I can't see you."
She's speechless.
You, Addison, Derek, and Meredith all end up in an elevator together.
But weeks later, she presents divorce papers to Derek
And just a week after that, she shows you the signed papers
You don't know what to say.
"You actually did it? You filed for divorce?"
"I've made a lot of mistakes in my life...but you...you're not one of them."
This is the first time she says 'I love you'.
She gets a nice hotel room for you two that night.
Meredith asks why you aren't going home with them and then it dawns on her
You see that shit eating grin
Izzie and George and Cristina start cooing at you
"Awww, you're officially Addison's bitch."
"I am not Addison's bitch!"
"You so are!
"You'd do anything for her!"
"...Okay, fine, so I'm her bitch."
And it turned out to be a very lovely night.
Addison Montgomery surprising you on your birthday while everyone else forgot?
Tumblr media
As the day came to a close, you weren't necessarily surprised that none of your colleagues had remembered to tell you happy birthday. For one, you were one of the newest attendings at the hospital and as a result, you were still getting to know a fair amount of them. The other reason you weren't necessarily surprised was the fact that you honestly couldn't remember if you had even mentioned it to any of them in the last few days. The OR had been slammed all weekend and if you hadn't gotten a text from your hometown best friend that morning, you honestly might have forgotten yourself.
"Heading home?"
Addison's voice snapped you out of your thoughts and you extended an arm to hold the elevator door before it closed on her. She had an impressive reputation, and that fact alone would have made you nervous. The fact that she was one of the most gorgeous women you had ever seen...well, that definitely added to the anxiety swimming through your veins as the elevator doors shut.
"If I can escape the parking lot without my pager going off I am," you joked, running a hand through your hair nervously.
"Any birthday plans?" she asked, pressing the button for the lobby. Your eyebrows rose in surprise at the question and you shook your head sheepishly.
"No, unless takeout and hanging with my cat counts."
"It certainly does not, especially with so many fantastic restaurants in this city. If you'll allow me, I'd love to treat you to dinner to celebrate your first birthday in Seattle. Admittedly, I am starving so this is not en entirely selfless present."
Fuck. You were nervous enough being along in an elevator with this woman...how were you going to make it through an entire dinner? Despite the bundle of nerves that had quickly nestled in your stomach, you knew you had to say yes. When was an opportunity like this going to come around again?
"I would love that, and I am also starving so anywhere you pick will be good with me. Honestly, I don't think I could ask for a better companion for my first official birthday dinner in Seattle," you responded as smoothly as possible, desperately hoping she couldn't see how rattled the sudden invite had left you.
"Perfect, cause I already made us a reservation."
Addie x reader where Addie knows reader has a crush on her and flirts with reader to mess with her
this is short too. i’m sorry!! i’ve been sick for a few days and im just starting to recover.
a choice with me
“Hello darling,” Addison slides behind you, her body pressing against yours. “How are you this morning?”
“Fine,” You blush, turning your head away as Addison leans against the nurses station beside you. “I’m not on your service today.”
“I know,” Addison tilts her head, placing a hand on your arm to get you to face her again. “I’ll miss you.”
“You will?” You roll your eyes sassily.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me,” Addison runs her finger across your jaw seductively.
“Y— you’re not the boss of me today,” You stutter nervously.
“No, but I will be in two days.”
You scoff, “Yeah, whatever.”
All you want to do in Addison’s presence is cry, scream, and smash your lips against hers. It’s unprofessional, you know that, but it’s the truth.
There was just something about Addison that you couldn’t comprehend. She made you feel good and seen, but also made you flustered. She was one of the only people you could trust.
She knew things about you not even your own friends or family knew. And she hadn’t told a soul.
“What are you thinking?” Addison’s face turns serious.
“Nothing,” You frown. “I should go before Burke has my head.”
You walk away, leaving Addison standing by the station on her own.
She struts up beside you, and you aren’t even surprised at how fast she catches up to you, considering her height. One of the many things that makes you feel what you feel for her.
“Talk to me,” Addison insists.
“Nothing is wrong,” You shake your head, chuckling slightly.
Addison pulls you to the side, “You swear?”
“I swear,” You nod.
Addison runs her knuckles across your cheek, and your cheeks redden again.
“Come get a drink with me tonight,” Addison gives a breathtaking smirk. “That’s not a request.”
“Yes, Dr. Montgomery,” You look down nervously, but she lifts your chin back to her.
“Good girl,” Addison lifts her brows suggestively, leaving you a blubbering mess in the middle of the hallway.
The door rings with your entrance to Joe’s Bar, and Addison’s eyes are drawn to your body in an instant.
You weren’t wearing anything special— it was the same thing you arrived in this morning— a simple sweater and some leggings.
“I’m here,” Your hands find your hips with attitude. “My presence was demanded.”
Addison squints at you, taking a sip of her drink, and you’d be lying if you said your eyes didn’t watch her throat contract as she drank the bitter liquid.
“You actually came,” Addison places the glass on the bar.
“I wasn’t aware it was a choice,” You tilt your head.
“You always have a choice with me,” Addison’s eyes move down to your lips, but back up to your eyes.
You had a feeling that her words had more than one meaning.
You let out a breath that sounds like a laugh and a scoff, “Good.”
Addison keeps her eyes on yours, internally fighting herself from looking at your lips again, afraid she’ll give in to you if she does.
You swallow nervously, “Addie..”
“What?” Addison’s eyes continuously dart between your eyes and your plump lips.
“Stop playing,” Your eyes look hurt. “You know how I feel for you.”
Addison runs her thumb over your bottom lip, “And I feel the same for you. I’ve just been trying to deny it because you are an intern, and I’m an attending.. but there’s no more denying it. I want you, too.”
A small smile tugs at your lips, “Really?”
“Really,” Addison confirms and leans in to place a small kiss on your lips. “I don’t care about age or anything like that anymore. I only care about you.”
You look down, a blush taking over.
“You’re adorable,” Addison places another small kiss on your cheek and leans back. “Now, let me take you to get some food.”
“Okay,” You bounce on your toes as you slide off the stool, Addison’s arm making its way round your waist.
"and i can still see it all (in my mind)" "all of you, all of me (intertwined)" "i once believed love would be (black and white)" "but it's golden (golden)"
pairings: addison montgomery x fem!reader
warnings/tags: slight angst but mostly fluff.
summary: addison’s in love with you.
Tumblr media
the seattle rain drummed against the hospital windows, a rhythmic backdrop to the chaotic symphony within. addison stood in front of the or board, scanning the names and cases, but her mind was miles away. specifically, it was in the warm, inviting space that you occupied in her heart.
the day had been relentless, filled with back-to-back surgeries and consultations, but none of it compared to the emotional turmoil she felt every time she saw you. the brief moments you stole together were the highlights of her day, yet each encounter was shadowed by the unspoken tension of addison's crumbling marriage to derek and mark's obvious feelings for her.
"addie," a voice pulled her back to reality. she turned to see mark, his usual cocky grin in place. "lunch?"
"not today, mark," she replied, forcing a polite smile. she turned on her heel, heading down the hall towards a quieter part of the hospital where she knew you would be.
she found you in the lounge, sipping coffee and staring out at the rain. her heart ached at the sight of you, making it almost hurt to breathe.
"hey," she said softly, stepping inside. you looked up, your eyes lighting up briefly before dimming with some internal conflict.
"addison," you greeted, your voice steady, though your eyes betrayed the turmoil within. "shouldn't you be with derek?"
she winced at the mention of her estranged husband. "derek and i... it's complicated."
"it always is," you replied, standing up. "but you still have him. and mark... he clearly has feelings for you."
"mark and i are just friends," she insisted, stepping closer. "and derek... derek and i are over. we just haven't figured out the logistics yet."
you shook your head, stepping back. "addison, i can't be the reason you don't go to either of them. i won't do that to you. or to myself."
"y/n," addison's voice broke, a desperate edge to it. "you have to understand. ever since i met you, i haven’t been able to think about anyone else. i haven’t even looked at anyone else since we’ve met. i don't want to think about or look at anyone else now that i’ve seen you. my life used to be in black and white, you brought the color."
tears welled up in your eyes as you looked at her, the sincerity in her words cutting through your defenses. "addison, i..."
"no," she interrupted, taking your hands in her own. "listen to me. i've made mistakes, so many mistakes. but loving you? that's not one of them. you’re the reason i wake up every morning with a smile. you’re the person i want to come home to. please, don't push me away because of derek or mark. they don't matter to me. you do."
you felt the walls you had built around your heart begin to crumble. "addison, this isn't fair to anyone. least of all to you."
"fairness doesn't matter," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "love does. and i love you, y/n. more than i've ever loved anyone."
you searched her eyes, finding only truth and vulnerability there. with a trembling breath, you nodded. "i love you too, addison. i always have."
she pulled you into a tight embrace, the weight of your shared feelings lifting as you held each other. in that moment, nothing else mattered. not derek, not mark. just the two of you and the rain outside, washing away the past, making way for a brighter, more colorful future.
you both stood there for what felt like an eternity, the world outside ceasing to exist. when you finally pulled apart, addison gently cupped your face, her thumb brushing away a stray tear.
"what do we do now?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
"we take it one step at a time," she replied, her tone resolute. "i'll talk to derek, make it official. and mark... i'll handle mark. but you and me, we start now. no more hiding. no more pretending."
you nodded, a small smile playing on your lips. "okay. but i need you to promise me something."
"anything," she said, her heart pounding.
"promise me that no matter what happens, we'll face it together. i won’t let you do this alone."
her eyes softened as she pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. "i promise. together, always."
as the two of you left the lounge, hand in hand, the rain continued to fall, but it no longer felt like a barrier. instead, it was a cleansing force, washing away the uncertainties and paving the way for your new beginning.
Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.
Authors note: Since I have a lot to do at the moment and I'm not feeling well physically, I sometimes don't get to post and especially not write. So forgive me for the lack of posted stories 🙏
ᕚ---ᕘ
You walked through the entrance of the busy doctor's office that you and your colleagues had built with so much dedication and professionalism. As one of the outstanding doctors in this well-coordinated team of medical professionals, you were used to starting each morning with an aura of serenity that calmed your colleagues and patients alike. But there was an unusual tension in the air that day.
The office was buzzing with activity, the phone lines humming in a constant crescendo as the waiting room expanded into a sea of impatient patients, crammed in anticipation of their appointments.
A soft sigh escaped your lips as you made your way with persistent steps down the busy hallway, past Naomi and Cooper as they scurried from room to room in a frantic ballet. As a highly respected doctor, whose dedication and commitment were widely known, you were usually able to handle even the most difficult situations with a calm composure. But even you couldn't deny the pressure of this particularly hectic day, settling like an invisible weight on your shoulders.
As you took your steps further to your office, a sharp pain shot through your abdomen, causing deep wrinkles on your forehead as you looked around in confusion. At first you tried to ignore the unpleasant feeling, but as the pain increased in intensity and your eyes fell on your stomach, you could no longer deny the unpleasant truth. An unexpectedly heavy menstrual flow made its way unwaveringly through your body, and you felt the unpleasant air of reality slowly settling over you.
A rush of panic shot through you as you realized that in the middle of this hectic day you were dealing with pain. Despite the mounting pressure, you forced yourself to remain outwardly calm, fighting to suppress the pain as you continued to rush towards your office, determined to fulfill your duties even if it meant neglecting your own discomfort.
You finally reached your office and closed the door gently behind you, longing for a moment of privacy. Another stab shot through your insides, more intense than before. You gritted your teeth, suppressed a rising sound of pain, and forced yourself to concentrate. You couldn't allow yourself to be weak today - you knew that all too well.
With shaky hands, you reached for a bottle of water and some painkillers that you pulled out of your desk drawer. The pills slid heavily over your tongue before you swallowed them, and you sat back, already exhausted so early in the morning, staring at the cool glass as you waited for the medicine to take effect.
In that moment, you realized that this day was not only a test of your medical skills, but also a challenge to your own strength and endurance. As you focused on the cathartic feeling of pain relief, you vowed to get through this day, no matter the cost. No matter how overwhelming the demands, you knew deep down that you were a doctor - a doctor used to facing life's stormy waves with determination and courage. And today you wouldn't do anything else.
You withstood the pain with a brave fighting spirit as you walked through the hallways of the office. A forced smile graced your lips as you greeted your patients, and you made an effort to ease their worries and suffering as you examined them.
But despite your best efforts to concentrate on your tasks, the pain was making it increasingly difficult. Every step felt like a knife was piercing your muscles, and every fibre of your body was shot through with a stabbing pain.
With iron willpower, you forced yourself to compose yourself as you rushed from room to room tending to your patients and using your medical expertise to bring them relief. But the harder you tried, the more inescapable the challenge of overcoming the pain became.
Your hands began to shake as you tried to insert a needle, and your mind felt like it was shrouded in an impenetrable fog. Despite your tireless efforts and unwavering determination, you felt your concentration slipping and your ability to make clear decisions fading.
When you finally returned to your office, you were gasping for breath and your body was covered in sweat. You sank into the chair with a muffled sigh, trying to regain your composure as you fought the sharp pain in your abdomen. The painkillers had no effect.
With each passing moment the pain seemed to increase in intensity and you couldn't help but wonder how much longer you could muster the strength to stand firm.
As you retreated to your office, Addison Montgomery, one of your closest colleagues and best friend, noticed that something was wrong with you. Concern was reflected on her face as she watched you go on with your day, obviously in pain.
Addison didn't hesitate for a moment and immediately made her way to you. She reached the office just in time to stop you from leaving, pushing you back with gentle firmness. "Y/n, are you okay?" the redhead asked worriedly, her arms on her hips as she looked at you carefully.
A timid smile tried to form on your lips, but the pain in your eyes betrayed your torment. "It's nothing, Addy. Just my period, it'll be okay."
Addison shook her head firmly. "This doesn't look like 'just a bit of pain'. You look like you're going to collapse at any given moment. You need to take a break and lie down. I can see how much you're suffering." Her words were full of concern and determination as she looked at you firmly, ready to stand by you no matter what it took.
Another sharp pain shot through your body and you forced yourself to press your lips together to keep yourself from groaning in pain. It was as if your body was constantly telling you that a break was urgently needed, that you couldn't ignore your own needs any longer.
“Please, sweetheart,” Addison pleaded, her voice full of concern and compassion. "You're an outstanding doctor, but even doctors need help sometimes. Let me help you."
You hesitantly raised your gaze and met her eyes, in which you could read both uncertainty and care. You didn't want to neglect your duties, you didn't want to abandon your patients, but the thought of a much-needed rest was irresistible and you finally gave in, giving a weak nod of agreement. "Alright, Addy. I'm going to rest."
A relieved smile spread across her face as she helped you to your feet. Together you left the office and went to one of the unused examination rooms, which was secluded and offered more privacy to give you the rest and relaxation you so desperately needed.
As you lay down on the soft lounger and slowly closed your eyes, you felt a wave of relief wash over you. The tension in your muscles eased and you were finally able to get some rest that you so desperately needed.
Addison stayed by your side for a moment, lovingly handed you a blanket and sat down on a chair next to the lounger. Her hand rested reassuringly on yours, a warm smile playing on her lips. “Rest, y/n,” she whispered softly. "I'll be outside if you need me. You don't have to go through everything alone."
In that moment, surrounded by your colleague's loving care and kindness, you finally allowed yourself to let go and relax.
ᕚ---ᕘ
While you were resting on the lounger, the doctor's office did not remain idle. Addison and the other colleagues worked hand in hand to share the burden of patient care and ensure that each of your patients also received the best possible care.
Addison took on much of your responsibility and led the team with quiet determination. She coordinated scheduling, carefully reviewed patient records, and ensured all medical requests were addressed promptly. Her professionalism and commitment were evident, and she worked tirelessly to ensure that the practice ran smoothly, even in your absence.
The atmosphere in the practice was one of a sense of collaboration and mutual respect as the team strived to overcome the day's challenges together. Everyone did their part to keep things running and despite the unexpected circumstances, they managed to keep everything running smoothly and ensure that patients continued to receive the best possible care.
Despite her best efforts, Addison couldn't stop worrying about you. When she saw you come out of the exam room to continue your work an hour later, she immediately knew from the color of your face that you weren't feeling any better.
“Y/n, I see you’re still not feeling well,” Addison said worriedly, stepping closer to you, her cool hand gently touching your cheek. "I really think it would be best if I took you home. You desperately need some rest and relaxation to fully recover."
You wanted to protest, but you knew she was right. You hesitated for a moment, but then nodded slowly. The exhaustion in your own body was obvious, and you knew you couldn't ignore it any longer. You needed your colleague’s support. “Thank you, Addison,” you said quietly, reaching for her hand. "I think that's a good idea. I can really use your help."
A reassuring smile crossed Addison's lips as she squeezed your hand and helped you to your feet again. She put an arm around your shoulders and led you out of the office. "Of course, y/n. I'll make sure you get home safely." Her words were full of compassion and determination as she reached out to support you during this difficult time.
You left the practice together and made your way to your apartment. You didn't talk much on the way, but the silence wasn't uncomfortable. Addison was just grateful that she could be there for you when you needed her. You leaned exhaustedly against the window pane and let your gaze wander outside while the redhead concentrated on the street in front of her.
When you finally got to your apartment, Addison helped you out of the car and walked you to the door. She stopped and looked at you seriously. “I’ll make sure you have everything you need,” she assured you. "And if you need anything, I'm just a phone call away."
You smiled gratefully and hugged her tightly. "Thanks, Addy. You really are a great friend. I really appreciate your help." Addison returned the hug and squeezed you gently. "Take care of yourself, y/n. Rest and recover. I'll check on you after closing time and call every now and then to make sure you're okay."
With one last smile, Addison opened the door to your apartment and let you in. She waited patiently until you were safely inside before turning around and slowly walking back to the car.
As she drove back to the office, Addison thought about how important it was to be there for each other and support each other, especially during difficult times. She knew that she would be there for you as long as you needed her, just like you had always been there for her.
AIN'T THAT A BITCH
Tumblr media
To be a good surgeon, you have to think like a surgeon. Emotions are messy. Tuck them neatly away and step into a clean, sterile room where the procedure is simple. Cut, suture, and close.
"You look familiar. You been here before?" Joe, the owner of the Emerald City Bar, leaned against the counter, his weathered hands steady as his sharp eyes studied the blonde woman before him. She sat slouched, her fingers loosely wrapped around a glass, her gaze distant and heavy with unresolved tension.
"Once. That worked out really well," Meredith replied dryly, her voice laced with sarcasm as she tossed back another shot of liquid misery.
"I know that look. It'll be one of two things. Either your boss is giving you hell, or your boyfriend is. Which is it?"
"Or both," a voice chimed in, smooth and commanding.
Meredith and Joe turned toward the source. Standing just behind them was a striking woman dressed in all black, her silhouette sharp against the dim, golden glow of the bar. Her lips, painted a deep blood crimson, curled into a smirk that seemed to hold the secrets of a thousand untold stories.
"Her boyfriend could be her boss," the woman added, her tone playful yet cutting.
The words struck like a knife, and Meredith felt a familiar pain resurface—a wound she thought she'd buried, now ripped wide open.
"Which was a problem. But not as big a problem as the fact that my boyfriend has a wife," Meredith said, her words bitter yet oddly freeing as she turned her full attention to the woman who had so effortlessly captured the room.
"Ain't that a bitch," the woman said, shaking her head with a mixture of pity and amusement. She slid a crisp fifty-dollar bill across the counter toward Joe. "Give her something strong, on me. And I'll take another glass of Hennessy."
Joe nodded and got to work, while the mysterious woman kept her piercing gaze locked on Meredith, who hadn't looked away.
"That's a strong drink," Meredith said with a faint nod, the edges of her curiosity beginning to soften her tension. "What's your deal?"
"Runaway husband," the woman replied, picking up her glass and swirling the dark liquid within. "I'm still deciding if I should beg him to come back home or make him wish he never crossed me. What do you think I should do?"
"I say," Meredith slurred slightly as she leaned closer, her words emboldened by the alcohol, "make him believe that every time he looks at you—he's looking into the eyes of the devil."
"Mhmm," the woman hummed, her smile widening with approval. "Medusa Devil," she said, introducing herself, her name dripping with dark elegance.
Tumblr media
"Meredith Grey," the blonde replied, offering a small, tipsy smile as she raised the free shot Medusa had bought her and downed it in one smooth motion.
Tumblr media
"Well, Meredith Grey, besides accidentally being an adulterous whore, what do you do?" Medusa asked, sliding into a seat closer to the blonde, her presence magnetic and unshakable.
"I'm an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, meaning I don't have a life to do anything else," Meredith jokes, her tone light but her gaze heavy as it scanned the woman before her. She tried to focus on the conversation but found her attention drawn irresistibly to the woman's caramel-toned, thick thighs, their curves so inviting that Meredith's fingers twitched with the urge to touch.
"What a coincidence. I'm the newly appointed hospital administrator for Seattle Grace," Medusa said smoothly, running her hand through her dark waves before turning to meet Meredith's piercing blue eyes.
"So you're the boss," Meredith smirked, leaning in slightly, her intrigue deepening.
"I'm the boss," Medusa confirmed, her voice dipping into a sultry whisper that sent an involuntary shiver through Meredith's body.
"Good," Meredith replied, her smirk widening as her eyes drifted to the woman's cleavage. The deep neckline of Medusa's strapless dress revealed just enough to tease, while her shoulders were draped in a sleek leather trench coat that added an air of dominance.
"And why do you say that?" Medusa asked, raising an eyebrow as she sipped her drink, her movements deliberate and calculated. The glass of brown liquor seemed to prolong her buzz as much as her composure.
"Lady bosses...just do it better," Meredith said, her tone low and laced with suggestion.
"I'm also better at something else," Medusa replied, her tongue flicking out to glide sensuously across her bottom lip.
"Now what would your husband say if he knew you were flirting with me?" Meredith asked with a soft laugh, tilting her head to the side as she locked eyes with Medusa's deep, chocolate-brown gaze. They reminded her of freshly baked brownies—rich, warm, and dangerously addictive.
"The question is...do you honestly care what my husband would say?" Medusa tilted her head back, a confident smirk playing on her lips.
"I don't know," Meredith said with a casual shrug. "I'm already an adulterous whore. Can't go building a résumé if I want this surgeon thing to go well for me."
"Like you said...lady bosses just do it better," Medusa recited, her smirk widening.
"Dominant?"
"You have no idea," Medusa teased, her voice dripping with amusements. "I'm staying at the Hamptons, just three blocks from here. My room number is 777."
"And what would I do with that information?" Meredith felt her body heat rise, a slow, intoxicating pulse starting in her core.
"Whatever you want," Medusa shrugged, her tone nonchalant as she stood smoothly. Walking behind Meredith, she leaned close, her breath hot against Meredith's ear. "I'm just hoping it involves me showing you my piercing."
"Nipples?" Meredith breathed, her face flushing as a wave of heat rolled through her.
"Close," Medusa whispered, her plump lips grazing the shell of Meredith's ear before pulling back. In the next instant, the heated air between them was replaced by the cool void Medusa left behind as she headed for the door.
"All hail the champ!" Joe announced loudly, breaking the moment as George O'Malley burst into the bar. Cheers erupted from the regulars.
"So, my guy Alex finally got what was coming to him," Joe added, grinning widely.
"George knocked him down in one punch," Cristina praised, sliding onto a stool. "You should've seen it."
"I don't want to talk about it!" George snapped, rushing to the bar, his face red.
"Brag, champ, brag. You've earned it," Joe said with a hearty chuckle.
"Can I have a beer, please?" George mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Did you see that hot mysterious woman who just left?" Cristina asked Meredith, sliding into the seat next to her.
"Her name is Medusa Devil," Meredith replied with a smirk, swirling her glass. "Staying at the Hamptons in room 777."
"Damn, Meredith. I didn't think you rolled that way," Cristina said, raising a surprised eyebrow.
"Everyone has a little exploring phase...it just sticks for some," Meredith shrugged, briefly reminiscing about her college days. "Let's play a game of whose life sucks the most. I'll win. I always win."
"No, you don't want to play with me," Cristina said, shaking her head.
"Oh, I do. I'll even go first. Derek's married," Meredith said matter-of-factly.
Cristina's eyes widened in shock, and George nearly spit out his beer, half of it dribbling out of his nose.
"George, beer is dripping from your nostrils," Cristina said flatly, eyeing him as he wiped his face with his sleeve.
"Told you I'd win," Meredith said with a wry grin, tipping back her drink.
"No, you didn't win," Cristina denied with a sharp shake of her head.
"Did you hear me? I said Derek is married. As in pigheaded, adulterous, liar married. Nothing you could say could top that."
"I'm pregnant. I win," Cristina revealed, her voice steady despite the weight of her words. The admission hung in the air, its implications threatening to shift the trajectory of her career as one of the best.
In the background, Joe groaned loudly, clutching his head as his face twisted in discomfort. A concerned bar patron leaned in, asking if he was all right, but before Joe could respond, he toppled over, landing heavily on the floor.
"Okay. Maybe Joe wins," Cristina deadpanned, her and Meredith's attention instantly diverted as they rushed to the bar owner's side.
"Joe, lie back down," Cristina commanded, pushing him back when he tried to sit up.
"The medics are coming," Meredith added, keeping a firm but calming tone.
"You called the gurney patrol?" Joe grumbled weakly.
"Sit back and relax. We have to take you to the hospital to run some tests," Meredith advised, crouching beside him.
"Tests? I don't need tests. I'm fine!" Joe argued, swatting at their hovering hands.
"Dude! You collapsed!" Cristina exclaimed. "On the floor! This is your bar. You know how filthy this floor is."
"Radial pulse is strong," Meredith noted clinically, checking his vitals.
"Minor skull contusions," Cristina observed, brushing her fingers lightly over his scalp.
"You're sleeping with someone?" Meredith's mind raced back to Cristina's earlier revelation, the statement slipping out before she could stop herself.
"What? Who?" George asked from the sidelines, his confusion palpable. He felt like he'd walked into the middle of a drama he wasn't privy to.
"Why is that such a shock? Even George managed to get some action," Cristina quipped.
"Correction," George interjected, raising a hand. "George got some syphilis."
"How could I not know you were sleeping with someone?" Meredith asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Forget this," Joe groaned, shoving their hands away.
"Joe!"
"The hospital is right across the street. I can sure as hell walk across the street by myself," he grumbled, struggling to his feet. Though his legs wobbled, his determination carried him out the door.
"Oh, I think we should–" Cristina began, watching Joe stagger away.
"No, I got him. Joe!" George called after him, dashing to catch up.
Within minutes, Miranda Bailey's interns, with the exception of Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev, had gathered at the hospital. Joe was admitted and now lay unconscious in a hospital bed. With Joe's situation temporarily handled, Meredith turned back to Cristina, her curiosity unquenched.
"All right. Details. You're pregnant? What are you gonna do?"
"Look, you know what happens to pregnant interns. I'm not switching to the vagina squad or spending my life popping zits. I'm too talented. Surgery's my life," Cristina said firmly, her tone brooking no argument.
"Which begs the question: who are you sleeping with?"
"Just a guy," Cristina dismissed, waving off further inquiries.
"That's all I get? You can't just bring something like this up and expect me to drop it."
"Well, watch me," Cristina shot back before striding away from the conversation. She approached the nurses' station, where George and Izzie stood talking.
"Why are you back here tonight? Don't you have a date with McDreamy?" Izzie asked, noticing the group's exhausted faces.
"More like McMarried," George interjected bitterly.
"McWhat?" Izzie's eyes widened, her shock and dismay written plainly across her face.
"I came to check on Joe," Meredith said, deliberately avoiding the Derek topic.
"You think he's gonna be okay?" George asked, his worry evident.
"You think he's gonna need an operation?" Cristina added, her surgical mind already analyzing the possibilities.
"Operation, yes. Okay, hard to tell," Derek Shepherd said as he approached, his calm professionalism matching his crisp scrubs. He held Joe's chart in his hand, glancing at it before continuing. "Basilar artery's blown up like a balloon. Subarachnoid bleeding. Aneurysm the size of a golf ball."
"No way to clip something like that," George scoffed, disappointment evident in his tone as he considered the grim reality of Joe's condition.
"Not without magic fingers," Cristina shook her head, crossing her arms.
"Or a standstill operation," Derek revealed matter-of-factly.
"You're doing a standstill?" Cristina asked, her eyes widening in surprise. Noticing the looks her fellow interns were giving her, she quickly defended herself. "He's doing a standstill operation!"
"I'd like to try," Derek admitted. "First, I need some additional patient history, overnight labs, and a cerebral angio." He extended Joe's chart toward Meredith, but she didn't take it.
"I'm drunk," she claimed, her voice sharp as she turned on her heel and walked away from the desk.
"Meredith," Derek called after her, starting to follow. But his path was subtly blocked by the interns, who closed ranks in quiet solidarity with Meredith.
"McBastard," Izzie muttered under her breath, shooting Derek a glare.
As soon as he left, Cristina grabbed the chart from George's hands and began flipping through it, her curiosity piqued.
"Ahem," the intern on call cleared their throat, eyeing Cristina pointedly.
"What are you doing?" George asked, baffled by her actions.
"Uh," Cristina cleared her throat, trying to sound nonchalant. "I'm on her side, but we're talking about a possible standstill operation here. Recognize." She spun on her heel, walking away with the chart in hand.
Meredith, meanwhile, rushed toward the hospital exit, determined to put distance between herself and Derek, who was now trailing close behind.
"Meredith!" Derek called after her, quickening his pace to catch up.
"Go away!" she snapped, her voice carrying her anger through the air.
"Just wait. We should discuss this," he pleaded, nearly jogging as they stepped outside into the cool night air.
"Here's a thought!" Meredith suddenly stopped, whirling around to face him with fury burning in her eyes. "No! Quit following me!"
"At least let me explain," Derek implored, his voice softer now.
"Explain?" Meredith barked incredulously. "You know when you should've explained? The night we met in the bar! Before any of the rest of it. Yeah, that would've been a good time to discuss it."
"Look, I know how you feel," Derek tried again, his tone earnest.
"Do you?" Meredith shot back, disbelief dripping from her words. "Somehow I doubt that. Because if you did, you would shut up, turn around, and go back inside. You'd realize I'm this close to getting in my car and running you down in the parking lot!" With that, she spun around and stormed off.
George appeared out of nowhere, rushing to keep up with her as he held an umbrella over her head.
"Where are your keys?" George asked, keeping pace with her determined stride.
"I'm fine!" she snapped, brushing him off.
"Meredith, give me your keys," he demanded, his tone leaving no room for argument. She shoved them into his open palm with a huff.  "Let's go home," he said firmly.
"Actually, take me to the nearest Hamptons," Meredith countered, shaking her head. She needed a distraction, and she had an open invitation.
"What's at the Hamptons?" George asked as they climbed into her car.
"An acquaintance," Meredith answered shortly, staring straight ahead.
---
On the seventh floor of the Hamptons, the city's most luxurious hotel, Meredith Grey found herself standing before the door marked 777. She raised her hand and knocked, her resolve firm.
The door opened to reveal Medusa Devil, clad in a plush white robe, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders.
"Meredith Grey," Medusa greeted her with a curious tilt of her head. "How can I help you?"
"Show me the piercing," Meredith said, her voice steady and sure.
"Come in," Medusa replied with a smirk, stepping aside to let Meredith in. The entryway widened as Meredith crossed the threshold, her confidence unwavering. Medusa closed the door behind her, the sound of the latch echoing softly in the quiet room.
Hearts and Choices
Pairing: Amelia Shepherd x Reader
Summary: You were offered by Yang a position that will help further your career in Cardiothoracic instead of your old specialty Plastic Surgery. However, this could mean leaving Amelia behind.
Warning: Abandonment issues (?), (idk if there’s more, but if you think so just tell me so I can add them)
Words: 1.4k
When I was offered to be the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Switzerland, as Yang would be the next Klausmann’s Director of Surgery and Head of Surgical Research, she needed my expertise and helped her manage the load. I wanted to accept it immediately, knowing this would be a big step in my career in Cardiothoracic. However, I need to talk to Amelia. I don’t want to leave her after Meredith is gone, and just last month, Maggie did too. I know how she is when the people close to her are leaving.
I met her when Addie brought me to Seattle Grace. I was with her in Seaside moonlighting. They said she did work at the seaside before, but I hadn’t caught her as she was leaving and going to Seattle to stay with her brother. We weren’t together then, just shameless flirting and almost kissing ‘til Addison interrupted us. We reconnected when Cormac and I transferred with Cristina’s arrangement for him to be Head of Peds and I Head of Cardio but become Head of Plastics instead, as apparently Maggie and Winston are in Cardio now, so I have to find a job. Thankfully, I’m triple certified in plastics before transferring my speciality to become a surgeon in Cardiothoracic. Anyway, before I bore you with my achievements from a young age. Let’s return to my big problem about telling the woman I love about my job offer.
I had just finished my surgery when I saw her about to berate Yasuda as I heard the Kid may have dropped an instrument. I know that intern has been sleeping in on-call rooms, and I wonder what her story is about, but I don’t think the kid needs a lecture. So I had to interrupt.
“Hey, Dr Yasuda and Dr Shepherd. Can I talk to you for a minute?” I said to her and pushed her to a supply room before she could reply. I gave Yasuda a look, and she nodded in appreciation. “Okay, what’s going on, babe? I saw you about to embarrass the intern in front of many nurses and probably her patients.” I asked. She was just looking at the floor and exhausted for the day. “Hey, Amy. Talk to me, babe.” I approached her and raised her head so she could look at me. “I know about the offer,” she said, trying not to look and maintain eye contact. “Oh, okay. Well, first off, why did you look at my emails? That's kinda shitty as my privacy is – “ “I didn't mean to. It was just there in front of me when I asked to use your laptop when you were in the shower,” she interrupted. “Well, you should have just showered with me, you know, and we wouldn’t have this problem,” I said, and I could see that she was hiding a smile. I held her hands and kissed them to get her to calm down. I spoke, “I was going to tell you about it later when we get home, as I don’t want to keep this a secret from you. I love you, Amelia and I want your opinion about it as it would be a huge step for my career.” “Do you want it? Are you planning to take it?” she asked. “Truthfully, it is a very tempting offer and a huge one for me, babe. I was supposed to be here for the head of Cardio, but because Maggie and Winston happened, I had to give that up and become head of Plastics.” I said. “So you are taking it,” she said as she let go of my hand and sat on the floor, trying to settle her feeling and not wanting her tears to fall. I sighed. I followed and sat near her, taking her in my arms and letting her feel me.
“I love you, Amelia. I have never loved someone so unique and complex that each waking moment I have with you is never dull and always unpredictable. When I came back here, you were with Link and also very pregnant, and I know you were happy, so I never disturbed you even when my feelings for you grew so much in the years that I finally know you. Then did you know how much it was killing me to see you being proposed to by Link on that beach? God, I thought my heart would stop, and that’s coming from a world-class cardiothoracic surgeon who knows it is a rare feat, so I left for three months. I went to see Yang and told her my predicament. I helped her in Klausmann, and I tried and tried to forget about my feelings for you, but I can’t. I told her that I had to go home. Home, even though I’m not sure where that was until I saw you performing that flawless operation on David. You were my home even if I wasn’t yours. It was always the wrong timing for us. I didn’t realise that you met Kai and, I guess, gotten to know them, and maybe you love them, but I just let it be.” “Uhmm, excuse me, but you weren’t so available yourself. You were hooking up with the new Plastics surgeon. I thought you didn’t want to do with me. I never expected that you also have feelings for me.” she said. “I know I wasn’t a saint, Amy. I am human too, and I needed people, and I hooked up with people, but you, on the other hand, were always in a relationship, so I didn’t do anything not until after a few months when I saw you in the backyard when Kai left you. I consoled you but kept my distance because I didn’t want to be your rebound.” “You are not my rebound. How many times do I have to tell you that.” “I know, Amy. I know. I just want to tell you that these past few months of being with you are never enough, Babe. I love you so much a-” “But you’re leaving. That’s what people say before they abandon me.” she interrupted again. “God, woman, let me finish.” I held her closer as if she’d run away and said,” I love you so much, and I love my job too. However, after many relationships on your part and flings from mine, I realised that I want it just to be you, and so I told Cristina that I have to talk to you about this, and here we are.” “You’re going to leave me, aren’t you? Just tell me already. Stop my suffering.” she said and hugged me tight.
“You don’t listen, huh? I love you, and I will always choose you, Amy. I’m accepting the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery but not in Zurich. I’ll be accepting it here. I will tell Yang she can offer it to Ndugu even though he shouldn’t leave the hospital. That guy is amazing with his techniques, and Maggie taught him well.” I said. “You're not leaving. You are not leaving?” she said, surprised. “I’m not leaving, baby, but I want to explore the options of having Klausmann and Grey Sloan partner, especially with Cardiothoracic research. Cristina owes me some favours. Maybe she and I can talk about it as well as Teddy. Though I have to talk to Winston and maybe persuade him not to leave and instead be my co-chief.” I said out loud. “Thank you, and I love you. I do.” She said, kissing me passionately as if we didn’t need air to breathe.
We got interrupted when someone walked in, “seriously, you two? Not again.” Addison said. Amelia and I laughed, and I said, amused, “Why is it always you, Addie?” “I don’t know, and I hate you two.” She said and left the room. I got up carrying Amelia with me. I settled her down and said, “We’ll be okay, love. I love you, and I’m staying.”
After the missed opportunities of being with the woman I love, I don’t think I’ll ever leave now that I have the taste of it. I love her and Scout and my profession, so I guess I made the right choice.
flooding ur inbox with addison youre welcome
addison asking what kinda coffee you have, and you tell her and “i’ll have to remember to order that for you, tomorrow morning.” she takes a sip of her coffee “ 7 work for you?” aaaaaa
7 am
The sun shines brightly down onto your face as you order your morning coffee. It’s almost so bright you can’t see a thing, but you manage to squint hard enough to see the man at the cart.
It’s almost too hot to breathe outside, especially with your lab coat on, and you can feel a sweat breaking out across your forehead.
You thank the man whom you’ve come to know in your time at Seattle Grace, and start walking back towards the hospital entrance when Addison pops out of nowhere, almost glued to your side.
You go to take a sip for your piping hot coffee, but Addison reaches her hand out.
“Ah, ah, ah,” She removes the cup from your hand. “You know what always happens. You take a sip and then burn your tongue. And I have to hear about it all day.”
“Mmmm,” You groan, your daily dose of caffeine now confiscated.
“Oh, you’ll be fine,” She rolls her eyes playfully, the two of you standing off to the side near a bench.
“Will I?” You playfully squint back.
“As a matter of fact, yes.”
“What makes you so confident?” You flirt back with her, because you’ve had a massive crush on her for months, but she hasn’t seemed to notice.
“Well, to start, you’re on my service today,” She smiles a wide smile, a surge of energy coursing through her veins.
“Aren’t I always?” You joke, reaching for the coffee, but she’s quicker than you, pulling her arm back before you can reach it.
“Oh whatever,” She sticks her tongue out slightly.
“When will I get my coffee back? That I payed for?” You point out.
“In a minute. After it cools down,” She says, eliciting another groan from you.
“I need my coffee,” You pout.
“After. It. Cools. Down,” She enunciates every word, and your eyes are drawn to her lips as they form around her words.
“Fine,” You cross your arms, standing there waiting patiently.
“Look at you, you can actually follow commands,” She winks. “That’s a good girl.”
“Give me my coffee,” You reach out again, and this time she gives it to you.
You drink the coffee, thankfully hiding your face behind the large cup, because her comments have your face hot. But if she asked, it was the sun.
“Whatcha got in there?” Addison has a teasing smile on her face.
“Uh..” You share your coffee order with her, and she is, again, bouncing on her toes with excitement.
“Do we have an exciting surgery today or something?” You give her a weird look because you’d never seen her so chipper.
“No,” Addison’s smile turns into a frown, and you have to admit it’s pretty cute. “Just.. I’ll have to remember to order that for you.”
“What—“
She takes a sip of her own coffee, “Tomorrow morning?”
“Addie—“
Your cheeks flame again as you realize what’s actually happening. Addison Montgomery is asking you out.
“Seven work for you?” Addison has a smirk on your face, no doubt from the red blooming across your face.
“Y— yeah,” You nod fast, both nervous and excited to see what Addison has in store for you.
She takes off towards the hospital doors, her hips having a new rhythm to them. Her head turns and she’s shouting back, “Come on, Dr. L/n. We do have an exciting surgery, and we need to be there now!”
You speed up, knowing this — whatever it is — is going to be fun.
“Good morning, Dr. L/n,” You arrive beside Addison just as she’s getting the two of you coffee.
She gives it to you and you give her a look, “You aren’t gonna gate keep my coffee today?”
“Nope,” She smirks. “I’m in a good mood. I’m feeling generous.”
“Uh-huh,” You say in a disbelieving tone.
“You’re also pretty cute when you complain,” She sighs.
You sip on your coffee, hissing as the hot liquid burns your tongue.
“You know, I would’ve thought you’d have learned by now,” She shakes her head, grabbing the coffee from your hand. “But you haven’t.”
“Addie,” You whine.
She chuckles, “Yep, there it is.”
“Why did you let me have that,” You talk with your tongue sticking out. “That hurt.”
“Because you would’ve cried about it the whole time like yesterday,” She shakes her head with a chuckle. “Come on, let’s get inside. You’ll feel better soon enough.”
Her hand slides over your back, resting on your hip as she leads you into the hospital.
“You know what will help?” She looks down at you, the height difference becoming evident.
“What?” You ask.
“This,” She leans down and gives you a kiss on the cheek. “And an ice cold water.”
You laugh slightly, your cheeks heating up from the affection she’d just shown you. She grabs your hand and the two of you walk further into the hospital.
