I think that Hen's celebration is to counter the situation where she was in the right but a life was lost and that effected her greatly. So this shows more of her confidence growing, whether that's a good thing depends on how brash she gets on calls.

As for Buck, I just want to give him so many hugs. I hated how they made him the bad guy with the lawsuit when Bobby went behind his back and broke his trust. Making him feel like he was alone; cause if Bobby was the one creating the trouble who would take his side?

I think the question is answered when Buck comes to the team with his concerns. Eddie jumps to reassure him but Chim & Hen stay silent 'til there asked a question. ( if I remembered the scene correctly)

I just need Eddie and Maddie seeing how low Buck is truest getting and they gang up on the rest to get Buck the respect and love he deserves!

EVAN BUCKLEY deserves to be celebrated and here’s why:

I love my love Henrietta Wilson but does anyone think about the fact that…Buck could’ve felt so BAD at this celebration.

It’s a very, very common pattern that Buck’s achievements get brushed off with a cursory “good job” but everyone else’s are celebrated pretty widely, through banners and everything. (that scene of Buck walking into the station and facing everyone’s cold nature still makes me so angry omg.)

You don’t see any of that support when it comes to Buck and I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this particular thing about episode 3x16 yet, so I’m going to…

In the same episode, we have two life-saving emergencies that could’ve gone sideways VERY fast.

First, we have the rope rescue (which was performed under Bobby’s command, under the supervision of a partner). The line caught on fire before Buck was ready to continue releasing the rope. Now that rescue cushion, if it had been a mere ten seconds earlier, could’ve spelled disaster for Buck, and to some extent, to Gladys too (whose fall would’ve likely been broken by the selfless firefighter). It wouldn’t have been properly inflated, and likely wouldn’t have caught their weight as it should’ve.

Buck wanted to celebrate the collective win of not losing a life to the fire, but I think that he was really proud of himself for the quick thinking to save a deaf woman (”the building next door is not on fire”). Instead, he was shot down near immediately by everyone, without even a single commendment from anyone. 

I get that yeah, everyone has committments, and it’s rare that they get to spend a date night if they have kids but like…they didn’t even try to appreciate him. Each of them were out of there as quick as possible. Eddie was the only one who thought to invite Buck to join, though that’s probably more because he wasn’t going on a date. Also Eddie’s invitation sounded like a familiar one, like it’s something he and Buck are used to, but Buck wanted to have an adult celebration with his family. 

His look after Chim left broke my heart into so many pieces. Like I know there was the whole storyline with Red to bring in (where even then he got called an idiot for the rescue) but damn, this episode resonated with so many of us. All that talk about feeling lonely, about feeling left behind? Yeah.

It seems like the news is the only place where Buck gets any sort of appreciation.
