have you seen any breakdown of the political situation on New Rho (in New Rho? is the rest of the planet also populated? I think at one point someone says "down in Ur" but maybe there is an application of 2-dimensional direction terms to 3d space I havent yet thought of). Like who do they mean by militia, who is the government (who is the police?), is there any official house presence, what is the status of the barracks, who manned the spaceport, what power does BoE hold and how are they viewed in the population (Hot Sauce denounces them but who is her faction-that Pyrrha saw her with-then?) and do they know how splintered and farspread it is? what is the siege the blurb is speaking of, just the imperial emissaries showing up?

Also assuming the BoE wings are all named after different planetary settlements which seem in turn to be named after cities in the ancient near east (ur, merv, ctesiphon), why isnt new rho? but i might be misinterpreting this.

Also where does the Empire want non-House humanity to end up? They seem to be turning planets left and right with no endgoal. And how many settled planets might there be?

Sorry I'm dumping this all at you, I havent seen any worldbuilding discussion here on tumblr at all really so maybe you can redirect me somewhere.

But to cover the rest of your points:

What is Ur?

Ur is mentioned twice that i can find, in ch 16: Ianthe says that the end has come to the "rebels of Ur", and a person in the crowd says "Ur is fighting".

EDIT: big thank you to @eskildit in replies: "There are four total references to Ur- Corona also says that Judith is in the Ur facility and Kiriona says that the 6th house is "parked outside the Ur system". Could be that Ur is the planet New Rho is located on. While we refer the nine houses as planets, canonically the houses are actually "installations" on each planet with quite small populations. New Rho alone, which is specifically stated to be just one city on a resettled planet, is 3x the size of the 6th house"

It may have been mentioned more times, but Kindle search is giving me the 2,320 times the letters "ur" were used next to each other so I'm ngl I cannot sift through that. Rather than being a city, though, I actually am assuming that Ur is another planet entirely! This is due to multi-planet SciFi in general treating entire planets like countries or even big cities. Like…. planets are huge. There are thousands of different cultures on a planet, but in SciFi planets are often like. One Big City. One Big Country, if you have a particularly ambitious worldbuilder. See: Star Wars, the Nine Houses themselves, etc. not saying that Ur cannot be on New Rho, just that I don't think it is because this is multi-planet Sci Fi.

The militia/civic government?

In chapter 6 a distinction is made between "the militia and the old civic govnerment". Following that, I think the civic government was probably installed by the Houses, as a ruling party that is friendly to them/House interests. I think the militia is a non-unified population of hired guns, that probably revolted at some point priot to the story. It does seem like at least some section of the militia is in power in most of the city, but I do not think there is one coherent government at the moment

Official house presence?

Yes, because there are official cohort barracks. I don't think they have much political leverage by the time NtN rolls around, though

Barrack status?

Under siege due to the people of New Rho hating them/political instability/possible militia revolt, doing badly otherwise because any and all necromancers are suffering from Blue Madness/RB proximity, as seen in ch 20 when Ianthe mentioned some of them were so poorly she had to put them down.

Space port?

I am assuming the civic government/House was originally in charge. unsure of who is in charge during NtN

What power does BOE hold?

Unclear. It seems like BOE itself is fractionated, with a lot of animosity held between different factions, and a lot of both animosity AND collaboration between different factions of BOE, the militia, the population, and the old civic government. It is a very decentralized resistance force, despite sharing a name. BOE do not appear to BE the official government, or BE the militia, though, but I would not be surprised if some groups had ties to one or both. It seems like they have influence both socially and politically but it is unclear what that power is... some factions have some amount of power. Over some parts. But!! it seems that during the events of NtN they had more power than in the past ("best hand they were ever delt", chapter 1)

How is BOE viewed by the population?

My guess is they have mixed reviews. I think a lot of people probably rely on them for resources/protection even if they don't like or fully trust them. I think a lot of people probably see them as extremists and wish they were less extreme (the liberals, u could say). Like Hot Sauce and the gang, a lot of people probably think they aren't radical enough and wish they would resist more, harder, differently. I think a lot of people probably deeply support them, either physically by being part of BOE or by providing resources/etc, or quietly because they are afraid of retaliation by the House or civil government. A lot of the population probably has opinions about BOE versus the militia, BOE verus House, BOE versus the civic government, based on their own interests/position/power. This is a really long answer that can boil down to "idk"

What is the siege?

I think the siege is the cohort being sieged into the barracks. I am guessing there was some sort of revolt in the local government, probably related to Blue Madness weakening the cohort, and they have pushed the cohort into the barracks. , as described in chapters 1 ("the cohort dies like anyone else under seige") and chapter 20 ("the barracks siege").

What group is Hot Sauce in if she denounced BOE?

Hot Sauce specifically calls BOE "fat cats" and "zombie lovers" in chapter 15, after noting that she, Honesty, and Born in the Morning, as well as Born in the Morning's father, are "active" in with an unnamed group at the park. It is unclear what group that is, if it has a name, or if it is organized in any capacity. From what little we know, it appears it is a group of people who are more radical than BOE, which I think is either ex-BOE members that were pushed out for their radial choices/beliefs, or civilians/other freedom fighters that aren't satisfied with what BOE is doing. But beyond that I have no idea

BOE wing names vs New Rho?

So BOE wings are named after historic Earth cities. Ctesiphon, Troia, Merv, Valencia (which is not historic to us, as it exists today, but WOULD be history in 10k years). They are named by BOE, likely to keep connection to Earth, just like BOE people-names. "New Rho", on the other hand, is likely named by the House. Rhodes is a place on the 7th house (see: 7th cavalier is the "Knight of Rhodes"), and I assumed that New Rho was like. The house naming shit. Like how New York is named after York in England, even though that area of land already had a name (Lenapehoking, I think?).

Specifically this difference is important because like, the House is a imperial colonizing force here, and they are naming things after their home system as a part of the imperial violence they are enacting. In As Yet Unsent, Judith notes that the non-house people call New Rho, "Lemuria" -- HOWEVER, in NtN chapter 17, the Angel mentions Lemuria twice in a way that is phrased like Lemuria is Somewhere else, and is Not the city they are in right now ("I was born on Lemuria", "there's still a facility on Lemuria") I am not sure what happened there, honestly. Perhaps an oopsie?

Where does the Empire want non house humanity to end up?

Unclear. Coronabeth notes in As Yet Unsent that even she (who has studied the war in-universe) has no idea what the real goal is. My guess is nowhere, because a forever-war has no end goal. It's a war for resources gained only by literal blood and death. Many analysis could be made about this as an allegory to to oil based forever-wars of today -- I read a few of them and as said before unfortunately failed to tag them, so if anyone has a link and can share with anon that would be awesome! But anyway, I do not think I am smart or learned enough to say a lot beyond this but, yeah. I think there is no end goal to the war besides meaningless revenge and the resources gained via murder, because that's the point. We could learn different in AtN tho! who knows

How many settled planets?

No idea! Thousands. Hundreds of thousands? Hundreds? Unsure! 10k years is a long time, and there are a lot of planets out there in the fantasy universe that could be habitable. EDIT ty @eskildit, unclear how many planets were settled over the course of the Empire, but there are three settled planets by the timeline of NtN: ""Everyone was crammed on one of three planets now, and they all agreed that this planet was easily the worst", from chapter 2

First I wanna say that kurdish is an (Iranian) ethnicity native to Western Asia along the Zagros mountains and 'turkic' is a large group of different ethnicities across Central, North, South and West Asia and Eastern Europe that share cultural and linguistic ties.

Examples of turkic people are turkish people/turks from Anatolia Western Asia aka Middle East, Rumelian Turks from the Balkans, Chuvash from Russia, Yakuts in Siberia Russia, (Crimean) Tatars, Uighurs, Kazakhs, Turkmens etc etc... here's the link to a tiktok vid that has a bunch of them with according info and currently 5 whole parts in total:

I, for example, am an anatolian turk/turkish. Turkish people are the largest turkic people with over 80 Million people. The modern day turks' ancestors migrated from Central Asia to Western Asia about 1000 years ago and mixed with the locals, therefore we share similarities with other ethnic groups in the area.

Hence the name, turkic migration, we spread out.

And you're right, turks and kurds are in fact geographically really close, we live in the same country, which is turkey and used to live in the same area in the same Empire, the Ottoman Empire. But ever since the Ottoman Empire collapsed and new borders were drawn, kurds were spread out in mainly 4 countries: Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria.

But Kurds and Turks, Persians, Arabs didn't always have a peaceful history together. Starting from riots to massacres to banning Kurdish cultural music and language..

Culturally there's been overlaps over the past centuries due to this geographical proximity, but we have to keep in mind that those two ethnicities belong to two different groups, Iranian and Turkic.

Kurds speak a language with 4 main dialects: Kurmancî, Soranî, Lakî and Zazakî. There's even more.

Kurdish is an Indo-European language that belongs to the Western Iranian branch while Turkish is not related to any Indo-European languages at all. It is a Turkic-Oghuz language, related to Azerbaijani and many other languages in that specific branch. Genetically there's not that much of a closeness either due to this but our phenotypes can look very close. Generally you can distinguish, we're not monoliths though ofc.

- travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were  thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong. 

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up.  the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

as much as i love the grishaverse series (like. a whole lot look at my url aksdjd) theres a noticeable difference between the characterisation and worldbuilding for white characters vs characters of colour, and im definitely looking up for rule of wolves considering im 99% sure shes having sensitivity readers for her writing regarding shu han, but even so, novyi zem and shu han have been hugely underdeveloped countries while the white countries (ravka, fjerda, kerch, but not so much the wandering isles lol) have been the focus of the series and have fairly developed cultures and respectable amount of time dedicated to this whereas shu han has had like. evil scientists?? and novyi zem just. doesnt have a culture in the series and is mentioned to have ravkan colonies there in siege and storm i think? my memorys fuzzy on the details and novyi zem was originally supposed to be based on america/australia i think but having your fantasy africa being colonised by the protaganists government and your fantasy asia have super smart and oppressive human experimentation just... isnt that good when thats almost everything shown for those countries. and in the s&b trilogy (i dont remember what book 😭 it mightve been s&s again) had alina and mal dress in suli costumes, imitate their accents, and give people fake fortunes and its shown as this cute funny thing they do when its Very Much Not. plus like. one of the two black women being dead (jespers mom aditi + leoni) and a lot of other more specific things in both the books and the fandom and a lot of other have talked abt it way better than what im saying rn. especially being a white passing latine person sinces latine ppl just. dont exist in the gv (which i am forever bitter abt but el oh el) whereas other races do and ppl of those races have talked about these issues as well and like. im not coming for u for asking me ur so fine but id def recommend reading through zemenipearls’ fandom racism and crit tags (crit is general crit so its not all gv but a solid portion of it is) as she talked a good amount abt it (also shes just a great account to follow in general) and i couldnt find like. a post/tag that would be easy to look through for crit focusing on shu han specifically but the fact that shu han being a country thats the Entirety of Asia kinda treats asian ppl as a monolith when they are very much not (compared to our multiple white countries) and like honestly theres probably more (any of my followers feel free to add anything!!)

HI i'm not the first one to do this (duh) but i wanted to do my own! some info abt the ponies; Theyre all different types of ponies sent from different parts of the pony...earth? To this magic school so they can become the defenders of equestria and stuff! The series surrounds them becoming friends while going thru character arcs and stuff. The villains are all the same but are being sent out by one being or something so the final villain/season revolves around testing the truth of their friendship!! Also they like......live there so theyre all like stranger roomates! also theyre all modeled a little differently so none of them look the same Twilight Sparkle -shes still a unicorn(at first) -shes very hipster and standoffish at first. -She has a really bad memory regarding things from the past, but easily remembers things from the present onward (this is important for her character arc) -she wears her hair up most of the time in a messy bun/ponytail, but sometimes she lets it down -guess what guyz!! she cant see at all lol so yeah..she finally gets the glasses she deserves (if ur wondering yeah she had big dorky glasses as a kid) character arc -shes princess luna!! thats why she has such a bad memory from the past. Princess celestia made this entire school a thing because she wanted to give her sister a redo since twilight messed up so bad in the past and she thinks giving her a chance to experience friendship will help prevent repeating the past. -cus of this i gave her a new cutiemark bc her old one doesnt represent that moon princess vibe! -also she has a really big horn since shes royalty! This also gives her a reason to become an alicorn once she finds out shes princess luna. AND IT EXPLAINS HER NAME FDHJSKF (shes the last to get her character arc) Rarity -shes still very prissy and loves fashion but loves to dress her friends up -her hair moves really pretty in water bc shes a MERPONY! heck yea -she has a mole under her eye -she hav hooves on land and a tail in water (like h2o just add water vibes) character arc -shes originally very standoffish and doesnt want to accept spending time with different species of ponies, but when her sister (Sweetie belle who is also a merpony) becomes friends with a pegasus(scootaloo) and an earthpony (apple bloom) she learns to be more accepting and earns the generosity element (Shes the second to have a character arc) Fluttershy -shes a flutterpony! so she is very very teeny -her hair is a lot longer and covers one eye (until her character arc) -she's super meek and has a very big head and ears and really skinny legs! very cute aah character arc -She used to be really scared of everything until she gets in an intimidating situation with like a dragon or something and then she realizes she has the power to talk to animals in both a strict but loving way. She learns to stop being as meek and rarity makes her a little hair clip so she can get her hair out of her face and........boys..........get this.......she has heterochromia. (shes the third to have a character arc and this starts her love for animals and gets her the kindness element!!) Apple Jack -shes a regular ol earthpony :~P -she wears a handkerchief in her hair instead of a hat bc hats are hard to draw and i think she looks cuter in this lol. -freckles..........everywhere -she wears her hair in a bunch of different ways!! country girl i love eeyouuuu -she doesnt speak a lot in the beginning :/ shes kinda standoffish and she has a very lovely country accent and i love her (also she has clydesdale hooves hehe) character arc -applejack deserves a good arc and they keep focusing on her stupid parents............I WANNA SEE MY GIRL GO THRU TROUBLE!! okay get ready -she is very scared of being tomboyish bc she doesnt want to be made fun of by her friends so she hides her tomboyish nature and how STRONG she is bc/ she doesnt want to seem boyish. she forces herself to act really girly but a situation occurs or something and she is forced to show her strength and come clean to the others. she is really scared but because she tells them the truth she gets the element of honesty and the others are like "were glad u told us because youre our friend and u shouldnt have to hide anything from us!" yeah anyways i love her and from that point on she is more tomboyish but still girly! (shes the fifth to get her character arc) Rainbow Dash -shes still a pegasus! -i love her so much but people think she's annoying and always make her buff and calm but i did the OPPOSITE i made her SUPER PUNY and SUPER FAST and MORE ANNOYING because i LOVE HER!!! -she fluff up like a bird when she's upset! -because she's smaller she has bigger ears and wings >:] -shes very conceited (At first) and bosses people around (even tho shes so puny) character arc -she's a really selfish character before hand but then everyone gets into some sort of danger and she risks herself just to save them!! bc of this she gets the loyalty element and cares a lot more about everyone else afterwards and is still annoying but is able to stop herself from being so selfish! (shes the fourth to get her character arc!) Pinkie Pie -shes a crystal pony! -when she first is introduced she forces herself to be regal and in her crystal form -she cant let herself laugh around the other ponies bc she doesnt want them to see her as silly/not good enough/not serious -she has a really 80s spunky vibe and wears roller skates -yeah she still has that twitch thing but instead of it being her tail its her little hair curl coming from the top of her head -gummy is a croc she finds and decides to keep (after her arc) character arc -in like the second episode or something, a curse is placed on the characters where they all look different, but pinkie isnt affected, and after seeing everyone laughing and struggling with the temporary defects, she starts laughing and reverts from a crystal pony to her normal state and her hairs all poofy and its real cute and shit.........she gets the element of laughter and everyones like "whyd u hide ur happiness?" and she says she didnt wanna get judged and god.......its jsust real nice (shes the first one to get an arc) anywayz this took a long time to write for no reason and its just SO MUCH if u actually read this i love u!!! this was inspired a lot by jenny nicholson's next gen ideas!!!! 100% creds to her for the inspo<3 i changed a lot of things but i still based some ideas from her!

im going to start with minor differences that make me prefer the 2010 version but not hate the 2011 one

first of all his dramatic soft gay sappy ass touching his heart when talking about mozarts music i like that a lot :(

then when he sings "killing out of spite everything i create" he metaphorically stabs himself in 2010 but not in 2011

and i love the first version because its a nice and subtle parallel between how mozarts music makes him feel like (lbqfm) vs how his own music affects him (l'assasymphonie) as i pointed out here before. this is on different levels !! the fact that in lbqfm its his inner gay demon stabbing him, representing mozart(s music) and in l'assasymphonie he stabs himself..... bc he is killing what he creates and what he creates is part of himself... so this isnt about him wanting to kill mozart its about him being self destructive... this is crazy this is just one gesture and i can go on and on about it and honestly my rant will only get more insane.

later he grabs the knife at different moments and in different ways and i think the 2010 version is more dramatic and impactful. the editing helps too, it really made me jump, its all done at the right time. but honestly both are valid to me; i feel like in 2010 hes more angry and impulsive, like its the very first time he thinks about doing something like this, whereas in 2011 he feels sad and defeated, like hes going back to a place he fought very hard to get out of and because of this one guy hes back there, but in the end he recognises its his own fault

another minor difference that i think is worth mentioning, and honestly i like both versions, is what he does at the "senseless (or crazy) symphony" part. in 2010 he almost covers his ears cuz obviously it goes along with the lyrics in a literal sense. meanwhile in 2011 its more of a symbolic interpretation? idk how to word it but 2010 feels like hes just talking about his music and the thoughts inside his head making no sense, but in 2011 when he looks at his writs, his veins, its like he is talking about himself as a whole; a being without any meaning, who is losing his mind, and i like that too

and this difference goes on when he talks about the "disconcerting concert"; 2010 feels like hes literally listening to it around him, his performance in 2010 is overall more dramatic lkjslkd, meanwhile theres none of that in 2011, hes too melancholic to be jumping around

here when hes talking about his talent (or rather lack of) u can see how hes more angry in 2010 and sad in 2011 (honestly this corroborates my theory that at the beginning florent played salieri as a legit evil villain but as it went on he added more depth)

theres just. so fucking much going on in 2011. there are a shit ton of people moving around, the flashing lights, the constant zoom in and out, the curtains moving the background, im gonna have a stroke????? l'assasymphonie is such a heavy song, emotionally, and florents performance is amazing on its on theres no fucking need to add 100 more elements!??!? it totally takes away ur focus from salieri ....

my biggest problem is with the dancers as u guessed it cuz honestly idk why they are there, i dont understand the need. i get that they are his inner demons, but not the sexy ones, so they are there to represent his inner turmoil and add a chaos element to the performance and a parallel to lbqfm with the whole hands on salieri part, but its way to obvious that it becomes repetitive! inner demons dancing around a character happens way too much on mor; bim bam boum in a way, j'accuse mon pere, la mascarade, comedie-tragedie, si je defaille, lbqfm and now again?!!?!?!?! bitihc dlajsdlkas

and the worst fucking part to me is when salieri goes to kill the female dancer

.....why whY... WHY.. why make the song literal like this!!! this is not what its about??!?! i know she isnt supposed to be A Person, this isnt him being A Murderer, she is him in a way but ?? we already saw him almost killing himself??!!? why repeat that, this is just so unnecessary and it doesnt sit right with me why make him stab a woman!! it makes my blood boil. it takes away all the drama from the other scene, of him with the knife on his wrist, because it is essentially the same!

now lets discuss why i prefer the lost half naked blindfolded men. is it because its gay? yes. is it because of the kinky element? yes. u see how that creates a parallel to lbqfm but in a subtle way? yes thank you.

to elaborate i feel like the 2010 dancers represent his psyche at the moment soooo much better. its not just simply his inner demons haunting him again, making it repetitive.

his is how i interpret it and how it relates to salieri:

the blindfold: god it can mean so much... above all i think its his envy and anger blinding him, making him feel lost and afraid. but it can also represent how salieri is a stern man, he only sees things one way and is blinded to other possibilities, other ways of living. because he is so narrow minded, so used to just following the status quo, he doesnt understand mozart and how his carefree way of life is working for him. he doesnt understand his conflicted feelings towards mozart. he doesnt understand how mozarts music can be so unconventional and yet beautiful, etc etc. his world was shattered and he feels lost because of this one little guy

but honestly i think the intention was to give a shoutout to amadeus lmao which is still cool. they do mention in MOR that mozart can play blindfolded so u can view as a parallel to that too

the lack of clothes: around mozart salieri feels naked but not in a sexy and fun way, in vulnerable and seen for the first time way. imagine how strongly he considered changing his name and moving countries after the whole eh bien, maestro? trop de notes? ordeal..... he was caught off guard in that situation so he let the truth out way too much, but he knows he cant fake it around mozart any other time either

their behaviour: they look afraid, lost, in pain and are constantly falling, getting up, then falling again and being pushed up against the wall by something invisible (to me its mozarts music/influence) and honestly i dont have to say anything else ! its all there !!! it represents salieris emotions perfectly !!!!!

in summary, to me the 2010 dancers dont have a lot to do with the lyrics of the song and i think thats good. they are there to add a new element to it, to let us see inside salieris head, while salieri himself is performing what the lyrics are about. so on the other hand i think the 2011 dancers are repetitive and unnecessary, not adding anything new to the performance

hp update: its been a long time, boys. ud think that with this plague outbreak id have more time for shitty phone games, and ud be right! however, the time i normally might use to make tumblr posts has been taken up by reading lotr orc fanfiction non-stop for at least 1 full month. id still be in the thick of that obsession even now if only the fics would update. that is how i find you today folks, for the first time in many weeks i am staring at a screen with nothing to do. so come with me friends, theres no better way to fill the soulless void we are all in than reading a nice long tumbler post. 

disclaimer, first of all, a lot has happened, i prefer to keep these updates as plot spoiler free as possible but do to extenuating circumstances i feel like it is necessary to say, [SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER BELOW]

that rowan fucking died,

i wont say exactly how, but i will say that her death was animated as were animations of myself and a few others reacting to our friend fresh corpse. obviously meant to be serious moments but the animations made it seem almost comical. 

i saw at least one post going around right after this update that was like ‘how could the game devs do this to us..... how could they hate rowan so.... this is punishment from on high’ and its like.... u guys do know what a story is right? the events of  a story are not typically done to punish less faithful fans, im pretty sure they were planning to kill rowan off from the beginning. this isnt disney im pretty sure the writers are not writing each chapter the night before its released by popular vote. 

that little “are we drifting away..?” scene with rowan makes more sense now. there was a bit in one of the scenes where the kids all reminisce on rowans life and the mc talks about it being the last real one on one time they had with rowan. a nice bitter sweet moment. i dont hate this turn of events. its a good reminder that actions have consequences and we are way past they days of “should i wear a hat or scarf?” its YA time now. 

i did manage to take 1 screenshot from this time, i had commented that before that when rowan said she didnt have many friedns that barnaby seemed to be hanging out with her without be there as a friend buffer and here was his reaction to her death:

the funniest part in all of this however, was of course cedericks reaction to rowans death “but she was so young....” LOL fuckin RIP.

lets see... what else.... i forget a lot of what happened but i think there was a time sensitive quidditch event in there somewhere? if so i  dont remember it. what i do remember of the quidditch pals is that im gonna play beater now, skye is being weird and cagey about it, andre is involved.... the others are there.....

sidenote, i love the shitty b characters they throw in to be like yes you know this person but no they are not cool enough for u to even think about befriending. the first one of those is face paint kid, and now we have another, who is a former beater girl with horrible bangs named bean who didnt go to any classes for a whole season so she could just play ball 24/7 and got kicked off the team.  this is a character who only exists to provide an explanation as to why there would be a beater position open but i love them on principle. 

right now im in the midst of another time sensitive event, this one is a bother-your-brother-at-work-day event where recent hogwarts graduate bill weasley is bullied by myself and his younger brother charlie into letting us go with him on one of his curse breaking jobs. 

so for those unfamiliar, bill works for the magical bank of england.... and his job seems to be “retrieving treasure” for said bank. in the books, there is a bit where he takes his family on one of his trips to egypt, where his job seemed to have been tomb plundering indiana jones style for the posterity of the english bank :X. i wont explain here why thats bad but its bad. 

the game devs however in this instance, at least SEEM to be doing what jkr couldnt do by attempting to salvage what is left of gringotts bank and form it into not a super shitty implications factory run by horrible jewish caricatures. bills mission is to retrieve a goblin made artifact that was taken by dragons, so no going to foreign countries to steal things from other people! only going to a dragon reserve to rifle through animal nests. they even appear to be providing us with a likable goblin character, egad!  

my hope for this event is that we get a plotline about how maybe, goblins arent shifty human haters for no reason, and in fact they hate magic humans for very understandable reasons, like being forced to go into hiding with the rest of the magical world even though only the humans wanted to do that, and maybe despite running the bank in england they still dont have a lot of political sway in the world of wizards and witches, and have to rely on the faith that said wizards and witches wont fuck them over at every turn, even as they see how they treat other non-humans, such as house elves, which they desperately dont want to end up like. and maybe they DONT only care about gold... maybe thats a human stereotype based on the fact that theres a long history of humans not respecting goblin ownership customs.... which i could get into..... but i wont.... i just....... very badly dont want them to suck ;__________;

i know i said its ok to still like a piece of media as long as you recognize the problems with it, and i do, but once this game is done im gonna stop hp posting all together. ive been feeling more and more uncomfortable making these posts lately.  

GENERAL GAME NOTES; theres been some new layout changes and such. 

most notably the stairs screen has been changed from a bulleted list of all locations to a screen with tiles picturing an image of each location along with the name + icons of all classes at each place. there is one additional location that is new and yet to be unlocked, and the dragon reservation is appearing temporarily as its own tile as well. i prefer this method of getting in and out of a temporary location to how they did it with car during the last christmas special. the stairs icon also now stays in the corner when you scroll through locations, allowing you to open the stairs menu without scrolling all the way back to the left. 

they also moved a few of the buttons down into the lower left corner rather than the left side & combined the story button and sidequest button. they added a little camera button as well, just like in the dormitory, that makes all the icons in a location disappear and look better for screenshots. 

the daily special add offer thing now has its own button in the top right corner of the screen, and idk if i mentioned it before but now there are daily challenges that appear in the sidequest screen that offer small rewards for completing 3 tasks per day + a better one if u get all 3. the prizes are things like 4 energy, 75 coins, 3 monster food. the better rewards are usually either more coins, 8 energy, 3 gems, or 1 notebook. i think that it does all the different color notebooks but i cant remember for sure if i ever saw the gold one up as a reward. i like this addition in any case. if you dont pick up ur reward by the end of the day, the next time u log on it will force u to stop and accept them, and if one of the rewards is energy and ur energy bar is full, it does not seem to stack beyond the bar so watch out.

 the character stats page is now more zoomed out so you can see your full character instead of just from the waist up. no change to the leaderboard. rowans face in the friendship roster is now a still black and white image that says ur friend may be gone but friendship is forever u-u. 

rowan has been removed from all classes. in the classes where the minigames involved her, those minigames have passed the mantle onto other friends in the class. in potions that person is now liz helping u find stuff off the shelves and in tranfiguration that person is badeea. bless these girls for helping mc get through it. touched my heart. 

theres been a few fun little “i know u have more free time now so uhhhh have some energy” prizes like they do sometimes when they dont update on schedule so thats been nice. just a few days ago they gifted us 3 gold notebooks the same way. :O. 

theres also been a few instances of a energy happy hour where for a limited time energy takes less time to refresh. normally it takes 4 mins for 1 energy to do this but during happy hour its like 2:30 mins. :U its all very interesting.

and that will have to do it for tonight my friends, ill do a post for the dragon event when its done because i do like it so far and i do like getting to bully bill with charlie.

Research

Co-design is known as research that develops process such as creative practice which is well-established in the public sector. Philosophy is professional designers, who are empowered and encourage, help their users to promote product, service and making decisions solutions for themselves. It has a background in participatory design techniques made in Scandinavia in the 1970s. Co-designs can be used in different terms such as participatory, open design processes and got a breakthrough from Prahalad and Ramaswamy's Co-creation concept which is a big part. Co-creation involves breaking away from a company and product-centric from them to forces on the value towards the customer experience-centric view.

Reading more about co-design I see that it reflects a major change in the traditional designer-client relationship. Co-design has access to allow a lot of people to build a creative improvement in the management and solution of the problem. The way they took this situation went above "consultation by building and deepening equal collaboration between citizens affected by, or attempting to, resolve a particular challenge" The main tenet of co-design is that user is known as experts of the own knowledge for them to become central to the design movement. There is a range of tools and techniques are available to support co-design project, that can "help participants create user personas, storyboards and user journeys”.

Design Culture is known as having lots of terms and rarely understood. Different companies think they are embrace design culture but you can see if there is different meaning on the term so it is hard to know what it exactly. I feel like this term is difficult to explain because everyone has our opinion especially designer they will have stronger opinions. Companies are informed to understand and respect the value of design. Design is sometimes mistaken on just being created to be for things to look nice. "When the design isn’t properly understood or respected, it often plays second fiddle too engineering and business decisions, resulting in poorer outcomes." With the design culture, the full team and non-designers accept that design is a holistic and process-driven discipline that should be integrated throughout the organisation. "Design culture hinges on an understanding that decisions should be made intentionally. Fashion is something we deal with every day no matter if you don’t care about it. With fashion dependent on individuals with various and ever-changing flavours, it may be driven and enabled into wearable technology. Wearable technology hopes to provide easy to use, comfort and innovative materials and designs. It hopes to create a user-friendly product that goes hand in hand with the users wearable and fashionable needs. Nanotechnology enables this to come to life by allowing new ways to make or create new materials and fabrics.

Seeing design differently

When it comes to the future, designing can be difficult so that why people look at different angles so they can reach their goals and make better places for the future. When we looking at technology we see that it has started to involve in design though fashion. Doing more research I see that more information on the garment. When ur creating and design the garment you have to make sure it was comfortable and protected. What I think the design is to the future is you should be able to make different ways to grow things with smart material and advanced computing devices.

Critical design is a theory-based concept this used with design fiction and speculative design proposals is a tool to create ideas, not objects. The principal foregrounds the ethics of design practice and can be quite controversial at times as it is often negative. What I think it does is that it makes us think again about design and not to move relevant to technological, economic and social changes, the critical design comes with a satire approach. For example, The ‘Victimless leather’ is the design that on takes speculative design proposals within the critical design in which immortalised cells. Critical design is modern and futuristic meaning it has it advantage however everything faces critique which in this case is that light condition exists in poor countries and can be studied to have come from an elitist perspective. It can only occur in institutions and museums and highlights issues however none acts on them that most people don’t agree with. Even though being criticised, the critical design goes on to show a big part in the design.

I'm really sure I have ADD/ADHD of some sort but I've never been diagnosed and seeing all your posts I'm like me, this is me, oh ffs this is me as well. Where did you go to get a diagnosis? Cause I'm hella nervous about even talking with a doctor about this, but like to actually be diagnosed and maybe even start meds and able to focus would be amazing.

Yeah! so, I am gonna give alittle bit of a history.

I know reading through all thismay be tough, so I will bold important/ main ideas to make it easier :)

I am 18 now and a senior in high school. I wasdiagnosed in 6th grade, so I was 11, making it 7 years ago (gosh, i didn’trealize it had been that long) that I was diagnosed. Prior to my diagnosis, Ihad moved all the way across my country (United States), from California toNorth Carolina right after the first grade and remainedin North Carolina from 2nd to 5th grade, the educationally formative years, and then after 5th grade, I moved back toCalifornia, I promise this is relevant. 

In North Carolina, there is a strong educational focus on Reading, Writing, and Math. These happened to be areas I am good in and I enjoyedand therefore, Iexcelled because I was interested. 

When I moved back to California,there was no emphasis on certain subjects, all subjects were equally importantand there were no special reading/writing/math programs that challenged me in away I liked, in the subjects I liked and was interested in. I became bored easily, school was notproviding me with the challenge I needed.

Uh okay so I started writing thisthe second I got your ask and then I got distracted and put it in a word docAND THEN I JUST REMEMBERED

Oh dang if that isn’t the bestexample of ADHD ever hhahah

 Anyways, I was failing in school,my grades were shit and I was a got dang mess!!! I couldnt remember the homework, i put off projects, i zoned out in class and i had so much missing work. I simply could not do what was needed at school. So my teachers were like, hey so ur kid wont stop bouncing their leggy?? And also doesn’t do shit and getsdistracted, but like, when they do actually turn things in, wowow brilliant??

So the school told my parents that i had to go get tested for this shit because i was just too much,, and so little sixth grade me went andgot tested and holy heck they found that yes indeedy I do have ADHD!!! Wow amazingisn’t it. From there, we consulted a professional and decided that for me, the best course of action was meds and so we started trying medications.

They started me on Stratera,then concerta, vyvanse, focalin, uhhh some other ones? Some for depression somefor ADHD, i cant remeber which is which, ive been on too many meds

Anyways, im on Ritalin and Seroquelright now and sometimes I don’t take my meds, and those days I am all over theplace and focusing is so hard!!

The meds don’t cure everything,but they make it much easier to focus, they give you the ability to concentrateif you try. thats the important thing to remember, meds arent a cure, no matter what people expect!! 

Lots of people think the meds are a fix all. Don’t believe them and dont get down on yourself, trust me, it isnt easy. You will have days where it doesnt work as well and you will be tempted to blame yourself for the meds not “fixing” things. It still happens to me and a large part of that is the mindset of other people. You will still have days where it is really hard to concentrate and you cant get things done, and that is normal and okay. The great thing about meds is that one day like that wont drag you into a cycle (the shit i cant do things, why cant i do things, i cant believe i did this again, now i cant do things even more, etc) as easily as before!!

Focusing is still difficult and you are still plagued with things, but the meds help to make it manageable, they enable you to actually get in the habits that people suggest to help yourself. 

there is alot of this like, self helps shit from ppl without adhd and honestly, miss me with that ablisitic bullshit yo. 

Okay so  yeah this kind of got away from me, im sorryabout that!!!

But basically yes please do talkto a doctor, just say something along the lines of hey, so I have seen thingsthings about ADHD and I think I may have it, here are my symptoms, here arethings I have trouble with. And don’t describe your best days, describe theworst ones. (for instance, I told mine that sometimes I would go days withoutproperly eating because I was so engrossed in whatever I was doing,  I just forgot to eat)

heres ur headcanons ouma! i hope u like them! im sorry if theyre not very good, so if u want me to change anything or add any headcanons let me know and ill do it - mod kiibo - even though ouma is the shsl prince, he still feels the need to exaggerate about how much power he actually has. for instance, hell say his country is a small terror just waiting to strike the worlds most powerful nations, when this is far from the truth - even though ouma doesnt lead the biggest or the strongest country, he still has the charm and charisma of a natural leader. he wants things done how he wants them, when he wants them, or hell probably get upset - despite the fact that hes a prince, hes also still really into pranking people and acting a little bratty. he thinks little pranks are hilarious, and will occasionally tell others that his life in his kingdom is pretty boring and that he has nothing to do. thats about as far as he likes to mention his life in his country - ouma actually thinks its funny to put on a huge crown and a cape and walk around as if he owns the place. hell tell others bow down to him, even if hes fairly sure they wont do it. he also doesnt care if he comes across as rude or annoying by anyone else; let him have his fun - if push comes to shove, though, he knows when to get serious and actually act like a leader. once he seriously starts taking on his leadership position, its pretty obvious to see that hes very good at leading people and giving orders. it is his talent, after all - also, since oumas talent revolves around politics, hes pretty good at political science. he knows the ins and the outs of his political system, and has learned what loopholes he can possibly use to his advantage. this, combined with his skill at lying, could be either good or bad, depending on the situation - ouma has no problem using lies to get things done. if the ending result turns out to be something he sees as good, so what if he has to tell a few lies between now and then to get what he wants? its not like itll be very easy to catch him on those lies, after all - whenever ouma does any sort of public speaking, he does his best to make sure that its more entertaining than just watching someone stand there and talk about political policies. this means that if he thinks he can crack a joke, he will. he also likes to play around with other people who are there - this isnt just for ouma as a prince but ouma drinks soda with every meal. he adores soda. people tell him that he is ruining his body by drinking so much grape soda, but he doesnt care. "the sooner the better," he says. just how much caffeine has he had today, i do not know - even though he probably comes off as a spoiled brat to people, he really cares about the well being of those in his country and the people hes close to. this isnt something hell ever admit, but he wants everyone to be living safely, at the very least. so he promises himself that hell do his best to make sure that happens
