Jing Yuan the... Lion

✧ jing yuan x gn!reader

✧ based on the ask: how would the characters react when jing yuan somehow magically transforms into a lion (like mimi) for a day? x reader is ok!! - requested by @/ephemeralyae

✧ contents: humor, established relationship, fluff, mentions of other characters

✧ a/n: i've noticed a certain pattern with my writing sideblogs, and that is the fact that i'll always get this sort of request HAHA. And in line with similar patterns, this will be the first post written in a headcanon format! i went the x reader route with just a hint on how characters would react (not that big of a reaction, moreso what they have to do in this situation) so i hope it was okay!

✧ He is as confused as everyone else with this situation. One moment he's sitting idly by his office, writing on his desk and the next moment he's left staring dumbfoundedly at a gigantic paw quite similar to the paws he squishes quite frequently back at home.

✧ Is the quick rundown you're given when you arrive at the Seat of Divine Foresight along with Fu Xuan and Yukong - having been frequently spammed with incoherent messages from Qingzu in the span of a few minutes.

✧ And although this very much is a serious situation - nevermind the mystery that the Divine Foresight is always absent from his usual seat, if he actually stays in this lion form for more than a day everything onboard the luofu will be behind schedule and he will for real be absent from the Seat of Divine Foresight because he's going to be taken in by the alchemy comission to figure out how to turn him back.

✧ And yet, as everyone is scrambling around trying to figure out a solution to turn him back and a reason to why he specifically was turned only - you're just left staring straight back at the lion with soft white hair and golden eyes who seem all to relaxed when staring back at you.

✧ Heck the tail is even comfortably swaying back and forth - even though he's well aware of the chaos he's caused.

✧ "... You know everyone in this room is in a disarray because of you, right?" a small roar that oddly sounded like his usual laugh, "... Yukong have to be able to discreetly send a message to the other flagships without even alerting anyone else in the Palace of Astrum, you are aware of that, correct?" you swear you saw the lion nodding his head.

✧ "... Master diviner Fu Xuan is going to have a lot more on her plate with this added problem, you agree to that right?" you ask once more, the lion only gave you a closed eyed smile.

✧ "Yanqing will be disappointed when you're not going to spar with him today, you've already avoided it for the past 2 weeks and you promised him today," the lion merely turns his head around, promptly ignoring you with a side glance of mischief.

✧ How can he be a scoundrel even when turned into a lion.

✧ "... Mimi would probably attack you the moment she spots you," you settle on saying. And somehow that information alone was enough for the once relaxed state of the lion to be in distress. Jing Yuan's once laid down form springing back into all fours - the sudden action making Qingzu who were still sorting out documents yelp.

✧ "... You know you could've tried saying you would leave him to see if he would react," Fu Xuan comments as the lion before the two of you makes his way over, "I think he would die on the spot if I said that, now how do we get him to-" you're unable to finish your answer back to the master diviner when you're suddenly pounced on by Jing Yuan.

✧ And as anyone would've expected, the much heavier weight makes you topple down to the floor with a loud bang.

✧ "... Did he already gain some feline traits?"

✧ You're unable to answer the question, desperately slamming your fist down on the lions mane before you're able to wriggle your head away from the amount of fur in your face, "Jing Yuan-" you wheeze, "I'm barely able to carry you while you're human, what made you think I can carry you when you weigh close to 200 kilograms?!"

✧ The lion seemed to not care, merely nuzzling his nose against your hair while making no move to actually get off of you.

✧ "... You know what, let's just call the healers down here and leave him here for the day. I have other business to attend to and Yanqing is already blowing up my phone asking where this idiot is," you say, tapping the lion on top of you on the nose before letting your hands tousle the mane, blinking in surprise at how oddly soft it was.

✧ "... On second thought I'll stay here until the healers come," you rephrase, continuing to run your hands through the mane, Jing Yuan seeming to purr in content at the excessive rubbing.

✧ So this is why Mimi is so content whenever you would excessively rub her everywhere.

Generally, painting terrain isn't interesting, just tedious. Case in point, I didn't even bother taking pictures of the wattle fencing I just painted because no one cares. It looks fine from 3 feet, and that's all that matters. So this was an attempt to making this terrain interesting: I printed out a punch of tiny posters and glued them on, and added pop colors to a few of them.

And then I kind of painted the RWBY mural from RWBY Beyond. Special thanks to @sedlex for their work in getting a reasonably straight-angle of the mural.

Hi local resident Astrum Deus stan here with my Thoughts and headcanon about the new Astral Infection lore because if I don’t shout to the void about this, I will explode.

Overall such a huge fan of AD as cosmic detritivore that is such a vibe though I have some thoughts about the mechanics of the new Astral Infection, specifically as it relates to that whole “sapient beings can resist the Infection’s call” thing. Essentially I like to interpret it that the mind warping influence of the Infection can’t dominate living people, but the Infection can still very much make a person sick and then integrate their bodies from there. Sapient beings being completely immune to the effects just makes it way less spooky.

As for how AD came to be Infected despite them existing to filter the Astral Infection. I think that someone (Yharim) severely weakened/killed them, which allowed the Infection to take hold. That’s how I interpret the last line of AD’s lore item anyway.

Anywho, there’s my rambles. Feel free to ask questions I have so so many thoughts. Right now tho I’m gonna sleep since it is way too late.

The scroll Luna sent back to Canterlot arrived moments later in front of a Praetorian Guard, who, upon reading the contents, entered the Vault, found the dagger that had caused Light to fly into an uncontrollable rage, and took it to the armory to be stored safely and under careful watch, but now in an area not warded by spells, which would render any magic users powerless within its bounds.

Immediately after the Guard brought the dagger to the armory, stored it in a rack among a number of other blades, and asked the trainees to keep a watchful eye on the broken blade, although confused and slightly annoyed at the request, the present General agreed to the request the Praetorian Guard gave him, and assigned a pair of Guards to watch over the armory, and the dagger in particular.

In the mean time, the Praetorian Guard returned to their post guarding the Vault, standing side by side with another Praetorian, and wrote a scroll to return to Princess Luna; they sealed the scroll and focused on whence the first scroll came, sending it back to the Crystal Empire, falling gently on Astrum's head, as she was still in her Mother's embrace, who noticed not that a scroll returned.

With a sweet giggle, Astrum pointed out the scroll to Luna, who blushed and chuckled nervously as she picked it up from the ground, where she read that it contained a confirmation of her request to move the blade out of the Vault; she let Astrum know, who passed on the message to Light, though as she did, she told her Mother she was feeling unwell, and wished to take a seat, as she felt tired.

Concerned for her Daughter's health, Luna lead Astrum to the couch to sit next to Celestia, and asked her to describe what it was that she was feeling, but she could not explain, as she strangely and suddenly felt tired for no discernible reason; both Astrum and Luna heard Light's voice through the void, though using Boom's bracelet this time, and their voice was ever so slightly fainter.

They explained this Valley was filled with great Evil, and as the Amulet that she had given them contained a part of her soul, they feared that its power could affect it, no matter how tiny a part was within it; its corruption would be too heavy a burden for her to bear, so, just to be safe, they had taken off the pendant, and gently put it back in their bag, wrapped in soft cloth.

However, now they had taken off the Amulet, while they hoped it would protect Astrum's soul from the foulness of the Valley, they would now only be able to send a message to them by using the bracelet they received from Boom, while any messages that they tried to send in return would not reach them; but the risk to Astrum's health was too great, and they would not dare endanger her.

As they took a deep breath, Light thanked Luna and Astrum, promised to let them know when they had left the Valley as soon as they could, and let out a small chuckle as they continued, promising to stay safe, if they made sure to stay safe, and to take care of each other, as well; with these last words, the light of the bracelet faded, and neither Light, nor Luna, nor Astrum heard any more.

Uncertain if they would ever see their friend again, and holding back their tears, Light turned to Boom and said that Luna and Astrum were successful in relocating the blade; they reckoned that with his notebook, he would create a portal to the armory to grab the dagger, or to let it drop at their hooves, or to have it appear in their bag and they let out a chuckle as they turned away again.

From the corner of Boom's eye, he saw a smile form on Light's face, as a tear ran down their cheek, and he felt a great pain in his chest; seeing his friend like this, seeing them risk their safety for the benefit of another, and knowing that he was the one that took them along on this perilous journey, he knew that he had to do everything in his power to make sure both of them would return.

And if not, he would make sure that they would return.

(I'll plan on giving them a proper list or smth with descriptions)

Speaking of ?, as you guys probably notice there are a lot of them XD They will be filled with time and currently serve as stand-ins for future to be mentioned/used kingdoms as me and maareyas see fit.

However, they can also be filled up by you!

Since Silverwingink made a kingdom in the Auros AU and I let them pick an island to make Literra, why not let more people claim a ? kingdom if they want to? As long as you actually make smth out of it, I see no reason why not, it might be fun.

This AU is still very small, but why not let it be sandbox other people can throw their ocs in to play? So if you want to basically have one of the ? kingdoms, I say go for it. Comment, send a note, dm, and we can talk about it, and I can update the map to reflect the new kingdoms name.

Once you have made a kingdom, it's likely to be mentioned at times (with credit) in stories of mine, though ofc if it ever plays a bigger role, or a character comes from there, I will go and consult you. Something I hope you guys do to if you decide to include the kingdom of someone else.However, to make things clear, this is not a kingdom *for* anyone but you. Make on to tell a story, to have fun, to add to the world, to create new ocs, whatever you want.

If you ever lose fun at it and/or want to remove the kingdom from the AU, tell me and we can remove it, putting the land it was on back up for grabs, or if you want to, we can give the kingdom to someone you think will take care of it. Some rules exist: - Whoever claims the ? next to Camelot automatically gets Amarosa too, which already has a little story - The 3 ? islands around Sheterra are in an alliance with it - The surrounding kingdoms of Astrum have higher accessibility for books - The neighbors of Niyevu are extremely cold - Have fun with it! This is a fantasy AU after all, so as long as you stick to some ground rules laid out through Auros lore, go wild! I hope what I wrote makes sense and that you guys will like it

STARSCREAM ( Voyager ) *Armada* Generations LEGACY

In una linea celebrativa come Legacy, sarebbe stato sconfortante l’assenza dei protagonisti del primo capitolo della celebre Trilogia di Unicron, Armada, visto che l'altr'anno ne è pure caduto il 20ennale, ma per fortuna così non è, ed ad aprire le danze ci pensa il caro vecchio STARSCREAM della serie del 2002, un personaggio diverso dallo storico Astrum cui siamo abituati, e per questo entrato nel cuore di una fetta dei fan dell'epoca.

Oddio, personalmente però no, il suo essere un Dinobot BW dei poverissimi non mi ha mai attratto, devo dirlo, apprezzando di più la versione dei fumetti Dreamwave dov'era semplicemente un gran bastardo, ma ho sempre avuto un debole per la rielaborazione del design del classico G1 in questo suo omaggio, con richiami estetici come le ali sulle spalle, ed il muso del jet al centro del torso del ROBOT, così come cromaticamente tendeva più al rosso che non al grigio, con il nero a moderare il tutto.

E appunto la somiglianza col G1 era talmente ben citata che già ai tempi del suo precedente aggiornamento per Generations Thrillin 30 nei fumetti IDW passava come un semplice aggiornamento estetico dello Starscream "G1" di quelle storie. Peccato solo che quel giocattolo, per quanto bello, fosse solo un Deluxe, e quindi ben venga questa nuova versione Voyager, anche se come massa un po' impallidisce rispetto a quella del Mega / Voyager originale, che era più semplice e giocattoloso, e con tanto di elettronica, ma ... beh, erano pur sempre altri tempi!

Già il Deluxe GenT30 migliorava non poco l'originale, grazie all'alta posabilità, compresa quella delle ali, e la possibilità di abbassare lungo la schiena i razzoni sulle spalle, tutte cose che ha pure questo Legacy Voyager, con in più anche la rotazione del bacino ed altre correzioni, come dei pannelli su avambracci e polpacci a coprire quei vuoti che invece avevano i suoi predecessori. Al Legacy qui insomma manca solo la rotazione dei polsi e sarebbe perfetto, ma già così non ci si può lamentare.

Se il GenT30 un po' aggiornava il look, con i razzi / lanciamissili e le ali più... "stilose", il nostro Legacy  è più fedele all'originale come forme, ma a modo suo risulta un ibrido fra il personaggio del cartone ed il Deluxe, a livello cromatico, dato che da una parte copia alcune cose viste nello Starscream in tv, tipo le ali senza le strisce nere sui timoni o con le strisce rosse sui polsi, dall'altro la parte superiore del torso è tutta rossa e le gambe tutte nere, senza parti grigie in più... vabbe dai, diciamo che ci hanno provato, almeno. ^^'

Interessante il dettaglio delle alette ai lati della cabina di pilotaggio che si possono piegare verso l'interno, così come il modulo sulla schiena che sorregge i lanciamissili, che come dicevo può rimanere a riposo lungo la schiena, ma per somigliare all'originale del 2002 si possono alzare e posizionare fra testa e spalle, con il pannello rosso del retro dell'aereo che può ritornare ad adagiarsi lungo la schiena, fissandovisi e rivelando un foro per armi. Certo a questo punto, potevano fare davvero il classico 31 dopo il 30, e permettere ai cannoni che rimangono rivolti all'indietro di ripiegarsi a metà verso la schiena, per togliere del tutto l'ingombro che provocano, ma vabbè, se non li si vuole fra i piedi si abbassa tutto il modulo e amen.

Niente male anche la scultura della faccia, che pare davvero ben ricalcata su quella del personaggio dei cartoni, mentre ovviamente i lanciamissili non sparano missili a molla come le precedenti incarnazioni ( ma vi si possono mettere i soliti effetti di spari ed esplosioni ), ma è omessa pure la gimmick dell'ala sinistra che diventava una spada, dispiegandosi... ma poco male, che senza dover rovinare l'estetica del robot, la spada con quella forma c'è di suo come accessorio, anche se è un pezzo unico non trasformabile.

E l'altro accessorio del nostro è un'altra spada, ma non una qualsiasi, dato che è ricalcata nella forma della mitica Star Saber, l'arma formata originariamente dai 3 Minicon dell'Air Defense Team: davvero carina come citazione, però fa sentire la mancanza del vero accessorio degno di questo nome di tutti giocattoli che si fregiano del suffisso Armada, ovvero un Minicon!

Capisco che l'avessero omesso nel Deluxe ( anche se l'HotShot del 25ennale l'aveva... ), ma è un peccato non vedere la piccola auto da F1 Swindle, e sopratutto non è neanche il massimo che questo modello non abbia spine per Minicon: visto che comunque hanno fatto recentemente i Micromaster in stile Targetmaster durante le prime due linee di War for Cybertron, speriamo che recuperino i Minicon degli Armada in un'altra maniera, insomma, che sarebbe davvero un'occasione mancata non celebrarli degnamente nelle loro forme complete.

La TRASFORMAZIONE è uguale a quella del modello originale del 2002, con il muso del jet che si alza dal torso, le gambe che si ripiegano lateralmente spostandosi all'indietro col bacino, e le braccia che si accovacciano sotto le ali. Da sottolineare i due pannelli che coprono le ginocchia che vanno a richiudersi dando massa al retro  del velivolo.

Il JET anche qui è assai fedele all'iconico classico, con un design più aerodinamico e meno goffo del giocattolo originale, anche se però non ha neanche i carrelli d'atterraggio retrattili come invece aveva il GenT30. Per quanto il robot sia alto quanto un Voyager medio, e uguale per altezza al suo omonimo G1nesco di Earthrise, come velivolo invece non regge tanto il confronto, risultando più piccolo, anche se va detto che la trasformazione è più compatta rispetto all'Astrum classico.

Le spade accessori possono sistermarsi sotto le ali, e grazie alle else sembrare quasi dei laser aggiuntivi. Ovviamente anche nell’aereo funziona la “gimmick” dei razzi che si ribaltano in avanti diventando lanciamissili, ma ribadendo senza meccanismi a molla, o magari altri fori in più magari ai lati per potervi sistemare altre armi o che.

Per il resto poco da dire, dato che l'aero è bello, la trasormazione niente male e sopratutto il robot un'ottima versione moderna dello Starscream della serie del 2002, anche se monco del Minicon, restando quindi nell'attesa e nella speranza che ripeschino i piccoli robot da accomunare ai loro compagni più grandi per celebrare al meglio questa serie che a modo suo ha fatto la storia del brand.

Paid Deity Reading Review from @ad-astrum

This is a review I am doing out of my own will for a paid reading that was done by @ad-astrum ! I highly recommend you check Adelaide’s account out! She just is amazing. <3 Tis long so I am adding a cut-off to help. Please note that I am not being paid to say any of this and I want to be as honest as possible with this review!

To start, I (for a very long time) have been in a place where I was lost. I have had a lot of trials and tribulations in my life and where I know I have made some contact with the deities I (had) followed and worked with, I know I have not always been able to fully comprehend what is needing to be said. 

At least with these last six years, I have had so many ups and downs and quite a few times, I genuinely wondered what the point was in continuing onward with life. I had spent quite a lot of time even contemplating whether I was truly a “spiritual” person and worthy of being a witch. I hadn’t been able to keep up with my gifts I had been providing and I haven’t really done any spells. Maybe a few sigils were made here and there, but the unworthy feelings I harbored along with depression spiraling in from working 40 hours a week, being in school full time, and my mental and physical health continuing to drag me down. 

So, I got desperate as one does when left to their own devices after being paid a nice juicy paycheck and seeking answers and solidarity from others online. Though this was not the main reason I had sought for answers, it was a good portion of why. Primarily, I had noticed signs that were familiar to me, but also not. I had begun noticing crows coming in twos and occasionally threes, I noticed almost everything I turned to, would have some kind of Norse imagery or content involved, and quite a lot of it involved our beloved AllFather Odin. 

Now mind you, I NEVER saw myself as a Norse Pagan. I thought Loki and Thor were cool in the Marvel movies and myths, but I never exactly saw myself being a Norse Pagan. I also was never one for Greek Mythology and Hellenic Paganism either but here we are after receiving aid from Ares and Aphrodite a couple of times in my life. Truth be told, I was the kid that was (and still is) obsessed with the King Arthur myths and Celtic Paganism. I also was obsessed with Egyptian mythology (yes, I was the kid who had the Egyptology book growing up even though I wanted the Dragonology one but that’s okay!).

For me, I tend to be quite dense. I tend to be someone who is unable to really see signs unless they are hitting me right in the face (spiritually I have felt blocked for quite a while and if anyone has any tips for that I am down to listen not gonna lie). With all of the signs I did keep seeing though involving Odin, I knew I needed to start doing my research and find someone who could help shine a light within the darkness that was my uncertainty. Was this truly Odin I was being called to? Why? What did I need to hear?

I stumbled around and I did scroll through various sources until I crossed Adelaide’s tumblr page. I understood her focus was on Hellenism, but after speaking with her in the DM’s about doing a reading, I felt safe and comforted by the fact she was so kind, patient, and informative on what I needed. Absolutely one of the sweetest people I had met on here and I absolutely will keep following her because she is so kind and helpful. 

Like anyone who was hoping for answers, I happily paid the amount we agreed to for the details I was hopeful for. Though apologies now, but I genuinely underestimated Adelaide and her capabilities. I mean, I severely underestimated what this reading was going to be like. If you need detail, and are happy to pay her what she deserves, Adelaide will provide and she sure did.

I opened the pastebin link I had gotten and I didn’t even make it through the first paragraph without breaking down into literal tears. I wasn’t sad at all and it usually takes a lot for me to cry. I had been alone at work so far that night and it wasn’t entirely a bad day, but not exactly a good one either. It was going to be just another night where I went home and unwinded until I felt tired. 

Though this, this really just knocked me off my feet in a way I wasn’t expecting. I always was hesitant with deity readings, I have had someone scam me out of my money and just never provide what I requested and so I was almost worried it was going to happen again. I am so thankful I was wrong. 

To give a small bit of background about me, I originally had worked with Danu and Brigid. They were my first goddesses I had actually met and they both had welcomed me with open arms (though I never really understood why). That seemed to set a foundation of how my other encounters would be as I simply seemed to stumble into the contact of the deities I met and I would find every way to give them the respect they deserved. In turn, they nudged me further down the path that I now am on. 

Back to Brigid and Danu though, they were with me for at least a couple of years and both of them to me are basically like my mothers. I still hold so much love, respect and adoration for the both of them and I felt awful for even thinking, “Should I give my statue of Mother Brigid away to someone who may have more use for it than I?” I am glad I didn’t. 

Just reading that first paragraph was what did me in though and I don’t typically cry as I mentioned before. 

“ I do not believe any of these deities have truly left you “

Reading this made me realize I was silly to think that I was alone. I had spent so much time wondering why I was alone and left to try and fight by myself. I know I was doing better in life, but I knew I was starting to feel consumed by my fears of being alone. I continued onward after settling down again emotionally, but boy did the water works come back when I read,

“ For parting words, she simply said that she was pleased to have been with you and will always be around. “ 

This helped me realize that I needed to buckle up and get ready for a ride emotionally. There was a lot that would need unpacking, and I still have much to unpack from it all. 

After that paragraph, we moved onto Danu who had a similar response as Brigid. Aphrodite herself was as graceful and kind as she always has been, and I still feel I owe a lot of my progress to her as well. Without her, I would have never let go of the toxic and abusive relationships I had been in. I know personally, I should make a better attempt to reach out to her more and thank her over and over again. Ares though, I felt slightly intimidated by him, but at the same time I wasn’t entirely afraid. He just is a much quieter individual than I had expected and that is okay. From what I recall (and this reading proves it to me), he speaks when he feels it is necessary. 

Father Lucifer came next and I definitely cried again at the end of his paragraph. “ Lucifer simply said that he sees the light in you. “ That made me cry like a small child all over again and truthfully I was surprised that I had not known him since I was younger. My timing was off, but I am glad it was actually him as I felt I was not actually speaking to him at some points. 

I have much to thank him for, and I hope me even writing this will show others my love, adoration and respect I have for my deities. My deities, I cannot believe I get to say this and say it with such joy. 

Though with those fears, I just assumed I was just making my interactions up and I feel my self-doubt and mistrust of my own feelings has hindered me (even to this day) communications wise. I once again am glad to know I was so horribly wrong. 

The very last, was the most unexpected, and Papa Odin himself had just known that this reading was coming along, and he had been around the longest. Thinking about it now makes me want to cry all over again, but to me I feel this really reassured me because I know I had moments in life where I would see things involving Odin and feeling comfort in them. Internally, I would ask myself on occasion, “I wonder what it is like to just sit with him and talk. What is it like to work with him and learn from him?” 

Sure enough, here I am now laughing and almost crying at the fact that he was with me all along. I just needed to focus a bit more. I genuinely didn’t believe that I had mistaken him for The Morrigan (so sorry Papa Odin!) and yet he still took everything with good strides. I still am having trouble putting it in words how comforted and rejuvenated I feel to have this kindness, love, and support. 

For Odin himself, I cannot thank him enough for what he has done in my life so far. It makes me want to reevaluate my life and see just how many times I could have mistakenly missed him and signs he has given me. For someone who has been around for so long and has had a formative role in my life, I owe so much to him and am grateful to be blessed with his guidance and wisdom. I remembered for ages I wished I had a dad that would love and care for me and here I had Odin all along. Physically I may not be able to see him or hug him, but he was here all long and that is what matters so much to me.

At this point, Adelaide, thank you for all of this. Your words have brought me such joy, comfort, and inspiration and I had trouble thinking of how to even respond to all of this for a good bit of time. I even wondered what I needed to do at this point and I feel I have a solid idea of what I need to do now, but I just am still scrambling around to figure it all out. 

Little by little, I will walk towards my deities and I will do my very best to honor them. Thank all of you for the strength you have given me to stand back up, dust myself off, and continue on. This was what I needed to keep going and keep trying. I had made my username “mirroredpaladin” because I wanted to fight not only for the good of others, but for myself as well. It is about time I start actually doing that. 

From here on, I do want to find a way to properly and more consistently reach out to Odin, Lucifer and Ares. I want to find a way to properly thank them along with Brigid, Danu, and Aphrodite and it is about time I start looking where I can to do so. I know I need guidance, I never was properly educated on what to do with deity work, but I have to try for their sake and mine.
