A very gently worded letter template (for a politician with a background in science, because my relevant politician is a science person):
Dear [NAME WITH APPROPRIATE TITLE],
I hope you are well and [A LITTLE BIT OF POLITE INTEREST IN OTHER STUFF THEY'VE BEEN DOING RECENTLY].
I am writing to you at this time about the ongoing situation in Gaza. I will attempt to refrain from emotive language and restrict myself to statistics, as one scientist to another [OMIT LAST CLAUSE IF NOT TRUE].
Prior to 7/10/23, Gazaâs population was about 40% children (high birth/high death demographic). It is beyond the scope of this email to speculate as to why, but it seems logical from this to conclude, therefore, that 30% of Gazaâs population was adult men, and 30% adult women. The UN has this week declared that about 70% of those killed in Gaza have been women and children[1].
Israel has consistently and repeatedly stated that it takes all reasonable precautions to avoid civilian casualties [2]. Iâm sure youâve already done the maths: If you were to select inhabitants of Gaza entirely randomly, you would expect 40% children, 30% adult women. On digging into the UN report a little further, Israelâs military is actually doing slightly worse than randomly. 44% of those killed have been children, 26% adult women. The age most represented was 5-9 year olds.
From this, we must conclude that Israelâs efforts to avoid civilian casualties are not at all effective, or they are simply not extant.
So I come to my question: Is there nothing more we can do, as a leading member of NATO and a country of greater than average international influence, to curtail the killing of children in Gaza?
Yours sincerely

I'm wording very gently because this is a politician I broadly align with and I want to show that, and also because I want to let the numbers do the talking. They're horrific. They make a very strong case on their own. I've put references in numbered as a gentle reference to the way scientific papers are laid out. I've added details about what my particular person has been up to politically in recent months. I'm implying "I'm like you." and therefore "I voted for you, and I'd like to vote for you again" (as it happens, I did vote for this person, but even if I hadn't I'd be implying that I had) Calling might be more effective, but you could also use this email as a basic script for a phone call. Just the references wouldn't work
Senators are going to vote on whether or not we should continue to send aid to Israel on Wednesday, November 13th. Call them, bombard their phone lines with calls. Every fucking day. We have a chance of doing something about this.

What's Mine
Summary: Bucky pushes you too far and decides to explain how your situation works. Or doesn't.
Word Count: ~2.3 k
Warnings: Dark Fic, Implied dub/non con, Power imbalance. Please let me know if I missed any.
Previous Part
It's been a few months since Bucky "claimed" you. He followed up on his promises of taking care of you. You frequently woke up to some surprise gift or another. One day it was a fully stocked kitchen. Another day it was the leak in the bathroom sink getting fixed. More than a few times it's been jewelry with his initials on it.
And all it cost was letting him use you. You swear a piece of your soul dies every time he makes you cum. Every time he coats you in his semen. Every time you match his fervor. It might not be so bad if he didn't gloat every time. That damn smirk haunted your dreams. Or was it nightmares? What was the difference anymore?
It had definitely affected your standing in the community. People were scared to interact with you. Fewer parents brought their kids to the library when you were there. Ruth and her friends had no problems calling you all sorts of degrading things under their breath. You definitely caught them giving you the evil eye more than a few times.
Part of you suspected that if you'd quit trying to fight him he'd lose interest. He liked when you were in a fiery mood. If you could just give in, give up, he'd likely stop using you. But you couldn't help yourself. You hated him. You hated yourself for enjoying the pleasure he gave. That hate needed an outlet.
You pull into your driveway, no longer surprised to see Bucky's bike there as well. You sigh, wondering if you can talk him into to leaving. You're exhausted. Walking into the house you don't even have a chance to take your jacket off before Bucky is on you.
"Bucky, please no. I'm just too tired."
He chuckles, "don't worry. I'm just really happy to see you. We're going out tonight."
You sigh, "I'd rather stay in."
"Then that means you have the energy for me all night."
"Ugh, fine. Where are we going?"
"I've got you an appointment at the tattoo parlor."
"WHAT?! I hate tattoos! I can't get any!"
He smiles as he growls at you, "you're going to get a tattoo just for me. No one else is going to be able to see it, but we'll know it's there."
"Isn't the jewelry enough of your 'ownership'? You even got me a brooch for my cardigans with your initials!"
Bucky licks his lips, "it was just the beginning, Doll. So far everything I've done to mark you are things that can wash away or heal up. This is the next step."
"I refuse," you declare, crossing your arms.
"Fuck, Doll, you're getting me riled up." He puts his arms on each side of your head, boxing you in against the wall. "And you're getting that damn tattoo. We can either go now, while you're still cleaned up, or after I've fucked your brains out and you're a cum covered mess."
"Fine," you drop your head. "Let's go to the tattoo parlor."
"Not yet." He grabs you chin and makes your look at him. "You need to thank me, first, Doll."
Bile rises at the back of your throat. "Thank you for letting me preserve my dignity."
He laughs. "Give me another," he taunts, using the same voice as when he's telling you to give him another orgasm. You hate yourself for the involuntarily clench your pussy does.
"Thank you, Bucky, for...for introducing me to Bunny. It is nice to have a friend." A friend who understands how fucked you both are, you think.
That gets a more sincere smile on his face. "It is important to me that you know my best friend and his girl. I'm glad you're good to them. Bunny is gonna need you when she's pregnant."
"What are friends for," you dryly reply.
"That's my good girl, Doll."
The tattoo is pretty much what you expected. His initials, right over your heart. If you wore anything low cut, it would be obvious. You were sure that was the point: can't even show a hint of skin without reminding everyone who it actually belongs to. At least it wouldn't be a problem at work, given you always dress conservatively.
By the time you're home Bucky is practically salivating at the memory of the tattoo on your chest. He might be eager to see this permanent mark of his claim on you but at least he's willing to follow instructions for proper care so it doesn't scar or make you sick. You made sure to thank him for that, knowing he likes to hear it, and he reiterates, "I take care of what's mine."
"Any chance I can just get some sleep tonight? I wasn't lying when I said I was tired."
"I'm all worked up, Doll."
"I thought you take care of what's yours," you snap back. "How is keeping me awake, not letting get good sleep, taking care of me?"
He grips your chin and gives you a thoughtful look. "I suppose you're right," he admits. "Even a vibrator's batteries gotta recharge every so often, right?" You roll your eyes and he grins. "But I'm going to hold you all night and when you wake up, it's on. I know you don't work tomorrow."
"Is that why you helped with my budget? So I'd have more free time to be your personal toy?" You can't fight the fire in your voice. You're tired, yes. Tired of being so angry all the time.
"Aww, you admit you're mine," he teases.
Unable to hold back any longer you smack his face. "I have never been so angry or tired as I have been since you showed up. You want to take care of me? You want me to be yours? Treat me like a fucking person!" Tears are pouring out of your eyes, the stress and frustration of the months finally finding a kind of release.
Bucky glowers at you and grabs your throat with his metal arm. "You shouldn't have done that, Doll."
"I don't care anymore," you croak.
That seems to catch him off guard as his hand loosens and his face softens.
"Oh, Doll," he shakes his head. "You really should've said something sooner." You squeeze your eyes shut as more tears start falling. He removes his hand from your throat and brings you in for a hug, causing you to cry even more. He pats your hair and coos, "there, there," until you can't cry any more.
"Let's get you to bed," he says quietly.
"I...I don't...I don't understand."
He gently lifts your chin, "you know, before Bunny ran, I tried to warn Steve he was being too controlling. That she was going to bolt. He didn't listen and, sure enough, she escaped. Wouldn't surprise me if she continued to try because he hasn't learned to loosen his grip. I don't plan on repeating his mistakes. Yes, you're mine and you'll never be rid of me. But that doesn't mean I can't be benevolent."
You sniffle as your brain tries to comprehend the sudden change in his demeanor.
"Now lets make sure that tattoo is properly cared for," he says with a soft kiss to your forehead.
"I...I hit you," you stammer.
"You're over-stressed and tired," he shrugs. "If I thought you were doing it just because you wanted to hurt me, yes, there would be repercussions. But I've apparently been overworking my poor Doll, so I'll forgive that one smack." His tone at that last part implies any more attempts to lash out at him will be punished.
"Thank you, Bucky," you murmur as you hang your head.
"Mmmm. That's more like it. Now let's get you to bed and tomorrow we'll work on your communication skills."
You wake up feeling like you're hungover without having had any alcohol. The delicious smells of breakfast lure you out of the bed, even though you dread meeting the cook.
Bucky's shirtless and smiling as he works. If you were in anything close to a healthy relationship you'd smile at how happy he is. Instead you keep your head down, trying not to think about that metal hand wrapped around your neck. About how those muscles feel pressed against your back, or on top of you.
He sees you and gestures for you to sit at the table. He brings you a plate of breakfast, a mug of coffee and kisses the top of your head before sitting across from you. You don't eat right away like he does, lost in your confusion about this change in behavior.
"Eat, Doll," he orders. "I didn't stock your kitchen and cook this up just for you to let it go cold."
"What is going on?" your voice is barely above a whisper.
"I'm taking care of my girl," he answers, nonchalantly. You look at him like you've never seen him before and he sighs. "Eat, or I will force it down your throat."
You grab a slice of the toast and start chewing. "Thank you, Bucky," you grumble and he nods in his approval.
"One of the differences between me and Cap is that I know I'm a monster," he tells you between bites. "He likes to think we've done all of this to keep his girl safe and give her the life she always wanted. I know better. But we've been best friends since we were kids. Ride or die, you know? So I'm always going to have his back. I've just made peace with the fact that it means ruining lives."
"You never tried to talk him out of it? Out of taking over an entire town?"
He shakes his head. "Steve's the kind of guy who can never be talked or distracted from his goal. One of the things I find endearing about him."
"So, he gets you all to take over everything here and you, what? Enjoy the spoils?" Feeling the bile rise at the back of your throat, you go for another slice of toast to try to settle your stomach while keeping Bucky happy.
"It's a balance," he grins. "We take over and just start doing whatever the hell we want, a lot of people are going to die trying to get rid of us. So we set up some rules for our men. People will remain upset, of course, but they're less likely to 'rise up' so long as we have a level of restraint. It's, honestly, the biggest part of my job as Cap's second."
You think on this for a minute, mindlessly eating. "I get why the town, but why me?"
He shrugs, "I needed the stress relief. It ain't easy keeping a crew in line and I was initially just hoping for a quiet spot to read to calm down. Then I started watching you. Saw you expertly handle all kinds of difficulties. When you snapped at me, I figured, like me, you could use some stress relief."
"Stress relief?!" He gives you a look that has you clamming up.
"And fuck you were so good," he muses. "That first photo is still the background on my phone." Heat rushes to your face. "I decided to go ahead and keep you as mine. You're not only a good fuck, but you were quick to befriend Bunny. Everyone else who sees her with Cap has decided to avoid her. Something I know you've been experiencing, even though you haven't told me." You look down, unable to say anything. "I honestly thought you liked the rough treatment and was happy to give it, but I'm guessing we hit a limit for you."
"You branded me," you snarl.
"No, I got you a tattoo. Branding is something else and would've hurt you a lot more." His tone is stern and you return your attention to your food. "You've played a critical role in helping me keep things under control. Plus, since you're my girl, you get some privileges and protections. You think Steve would've beaten up Walker for some random librarian? No. But for his best friend's girl? That's another story."
"So, you're just going to keep using me?"
"Yes," he nods. "And now that I know more about your limits, I'm less likely to get stabbed in my sleep."
You look at him, aghast, "that's why you never stayed the night before?"
Bucky chuckles, "so smart. I love it. And now that you have more information, hopefully you're smart enough to put the rest of the pieces together."
"If I hurt you, Steve drops everything to find and kill me. Probably painfully." He nods. "If I make you angry, you're likely to take it out on someone who doesn't deserve it or you lose control of your men for long enough that they hurt someone who doesn't deserve it." He nods again, smiling at you. "And if I stop playing along like everything is okay, it's another sign to the townsfolk that might set them over the edge and have them shooting, getting hurt, or worse."
Bucky finishes his breakfast, nodding at your conclusions. "God, I love that you're so smart. Makes a lot of this so much easier." You start sniffling and he reaches across the table to gently grip your chin. "I get that this is a lot to take in, Doll. But I know you'll make the right decision. If you really didn't care about this town, you'd have left when you only had a skeleton budget. You're willing to work yourself to the bone to take care of these people, you're willing to be mine to keep them safe."
"I can't say 'no'," you whimper.
"But it doesn't have to be all bad. Remember, I take care of what's mine."

As far the whole "Homicipher isn't romantic (enough)" debate- Like I'd definitely say it's romance lite but it's definitely got romance especially if you read between the lines. It doesn't have a lot of the "dating" aspects you'd expect from a otome but considering the setting is that really surprising? Hard to go on a date in a constantly shifting labyrinth where the closet thing to a restaurant (a random ghostly painting) is serving unknown meat and blood "tea". (Spoilers)
Like, barring Mr. Silvair, who outright says he's not interested in you, and Mr.Machete barely acknowledges your existence in general in his route. All the other boys pretty obviously (to me) are attracted to MC romantically. Mr. Crawling is the most obvious with his route him outright saying it, and like, the other Mr.Crawling focused ending is literally called "Blissful Love Life". Mr.Scarletella is the same. He says he likes/love you, he says you like/love him (even if you don't agree obsessive love is still love). Honestly, I'm pretty sure that Scarlet Rain is the actual canon ending too. Mr.Hood you could absolutely interpret as more parental in his route for MC, but I think we need to use Otome's Razor (It's an Otome game so assume all the characters are into MC unless stated otherwise), here that it very much still equally possible he likes you too. Mr.Chopped is the most interesting because you definitely have to extrapolate based on information over the whole game and not just like his route. In fact Mr.Silvair's route, the explicitly non-romance route, pretty much confirms that Mr.Chopped is interested in MC. The monster that Mr.Silvair kills is Mr.Chopped, he ended up that way because MC mentioned that it would be for the best if he had a body, if he wasn't interested in MC he probably wouldn't have bothered to convinced Silvair to help him get his body back and ultimately turn into a mindless beast. Which is fucked up honestly. Bro just wanted to impress MC but ended up getting actually killed (seriously, he's one of the few characters that actually dies in this game what the fuck lmao)

People who've never seen Zeta Gundam but know about the whole "Char puts on sunglasses and calls himself Four Vaginas" thing don't actually understand what's funny about that. It's not the "oh this paper-thin disguise is working" that's funny; most of the returning characters from '79 never saw Char and don't know what he looks like (and the ones that do aren't fooled for a second) and he takes the sunglasses off all the time anyway. No, what's funny is that he cannot shut the fuck up about how cool and sexy Char is, wouldn't it be funny if you were in the presence of someone that cool and sexy, and half of the other characters are like "huh yeah I'd sure love the meet Char one day wonder if I ever will" and the other half are dying inside.

I actually campaign for the NDP. Like, I knock on doors and talk to people about the election, the local candidate, the world. You know, stuff. I've been doing this for around 35 yrs (I started young and I'm old). My riding is traditionally NDP with the occasional red Liberal.
Let me tell you what I've seen in the last few elections.
Increasingly, working class people are turning to the Conservative Party. They aren't served by the current economic realities of Canada and they're looking for a party that will deliver them without actually making life too much different. See, they hate being screwed over themselves but they don't have any class loyalty and they're not really into changing the world. They just want a bigger piece of the pie. Social progress scares them and they like a party that confirms that they are right in what they believe about trans folk and indigenous people. They don't trust women and they don't trust people of colour. They don't know about Gaza and, this may be hard to accept, they don't care. Someone has been whispering in their ear about Trudeau. Online, I presume; where the stupid lie to each other, to keep each other perpetually angry.
Now, I don't support Trudeau/Liberals, so I can totally talk about that they've done wrong (don't even get me started on electoral reform) but I can't talk to these people because they live in a different reality from me. Their arguments usually go something like: Trudeau is a crook because of masks, vaccines, and the carbon tax. I mean, sure, he's a slimy trust fund baby but none of those things were criminal, actually. You can disagree with policy decisions but the vitriol is way out of proportion
Jagmeet Singh and the NDP have no chance with most of them because (1) he has brown skin and wears a turban (although they rarely say that part out loud, sometimes they do) and (2) he has supported the Liberal gov't in their minority. When you point out the progressive changes under the minority gov't prompted by the NDP, they don't care. I've talked to seniors who benefit from Pharmacare and young families that benefit from the national childcare program and they don't care.
Mostly, it's the men who don't care. And, like what just happened in the US, the white men are going to vote Conservative.
I don't know if ABC is the way to go. I'll vote NDP because they do have a good chance of winning here. But if I lived in a riding where they had no chance, I might plug my nose and vote Liberal to make sure the Cons have one fewer MP in Parliament. I'm just glad I don't have to make that choice.
Then, I'd spend the next 4 yrs developing the NDP in my riding, talking to people about what matters to them and how to achieve it, and calling my Liberal MP every time I feel like it to tell them what I think. I'd write letters to the editor and attend municipal townhalls to discuss local issues. I'd canvass door to door between elections to talk to people about legislative changes, etc. I'd join groups that interest me and make connections there too. When the next election comes around, I'd canvass for the candidate that I believed in.
Democracy doesn't happen on voting day alone. The rich know this and that's why they're paying bots to whisper in the ears of gullible, angry people.
I hate the idea of voting for the liberals strategically instead of the ndp but I am actually terrified of what would happen if pp won next year

Emergence - Behind each arena
Thought this mission was chaotic af. Didn't expect zombies to be in the campaign since they literally have a separate mode for that but anyways let's take a lil dive into EMERGENCE.
â ïžWARNING: Spoilers for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
-Advanced Combat Research-
For this section, we obtain a grappling hook and need to defeat the director of ACR with the help of some sentries.
I wasn't actually sure about this one since the zombies were just well....zombies that looked like guards. However, that said, the big guy we had to defeat was just a Cerberus/three-headed-dog-like figure.
-Administration-
For this keycard, we have to find the reports and slot them into the holders and this red mannequin comes to life (along with the others...)
Red is an interesting choice. It stands out from the rest and if we think back to Cold War, you'd remember red being used A LOT throughout the campaign.
Anyways, once it's free, the red mannequin goes on the run (a bit like Adler) and we have to chase it, the voice in Case's head saying, "I knew we couldn't trust him," and if we fire at it, the voice mentions, "Bullets are nothing to him," possibly referring to Adler being hardened by his years of service.
He cracks when we reel him in and get too close and then he pushes us away. The cracks remind me of Adler's scars - mental and physical. In fact, the mannequins actually take on the form of Adler mostly as well in this room. A coincidence? I think not.
After the initial phase, the red mannequin transforms into the monster as seen in the third image and again, we get another piece of dialogue - "See? He's a monster, just like the rest of them."
The thing that comes to mind here is Adler's nickname - America's monster.
-Joint Projects-
To acquire this keycard, we play some prop hunt basically! Objects around the room will rattle, signifying the monster's whereabouts and we have to sneak up on it and fire or it will disappear again - kind of alluding to the idea of secrecy, a core theme of Black Ops.
What's interesting to me is the fact that the zombie engages in a prop hunt like game with Case...like being on the move constantly and watching your back when others get too close to the truth perhaps.
We know that Sevati Dumas is the queen of disguise, excelling at being hidden in plain sight so this definitely fits her and that's why we see her in this arena.
-Cognitive Research-
During this phase, we have to drain some water to get the keycard and kill the big guy who's residing in the bathysphere.
The voice in Case's head seems to focus on rage here. I think for this part, there was a mix of Marshall, Sev and Adler zombies.
On escape, we see a Woods horde charging towards us. If we consider the theme of rage, we can certainly see where Woods' anger lies - Hudson and Mason's death especially to Woods' being kneecapped by Menendez and how that's mentally affected him, leading him to suffer. Hence, this is a part of the "cognitive research" bit.
-Biotechnology-
For this phase, we have to defeat a friggin' levitating zombie.
I thought this one was very reminiscent of Case...almost like it's his true form. He's essentially fighting himself for this one, just like looking in a mirror, right?
Troy and Sev zombies can be seen, most likely because this is where the three of them all are in reality.
---------------------
If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this mission <3

there's one major thing that's been nagging on me about l&co adaptation ever since my first watch: if we were to get season 2, how would they set up the conflict of THB?
i can get behind some of reinterpretation of characters and their mannerisms, character traits (i.e. Lockwood dressing less formal and not being a know-it-all, Lucy being less hateful towards George, seeing Kipps as he's actively losing his talent, George Karim being iranian and being very close to his culture in a form of cuisine), some are good, as a fan of books i'd be eager to get to know these characters along side their book counterparts.
but alas, i can't see these characters as the same characters in both medias because too much of their characterisation was changed, and it's really hard to blame on pacing or the lack of screen time. it's the writing. some changes going as far as making me question, what were they supposed to do with this groundwork in the second season.
how would runners set up a conflict of L&Co overworking themselves after gaining fame over solving the bone glass case and accepting all calls they were getting, if show!Lockwood out right says in episode 4 that he's not interested in boring cases? not only does it get rid off of a major characterisation of Lockwood as someone who's, yes, in it for fame, but most importantly he became an agent to "avenge" his family. avenge isn't even the right word, i think. he doesn't want others to be fallen victims to a visitor, doesn't want to see other people lose their loved ones, lose their family to ghosts. not only does it make show!Lockwood rather vain and only fame driven, instead of someone dealing with deep personal trauma, but also loses one of the key points of Holly's introduction to the team. (i also love the reading of LW naming his agency Lockwood&Co as something less selfish and more about him paying a tribute to his family, that without them and visitors taking them away from him, he wouldn't start his agency and wouldn't be able to help other people.)
speaking of Holly's introduction, what exactly would have been her role at the start in the show? L&Co don't seem overworked from the 4 cases they had (2 related to TSS out of 4 in the book, Wimbledon gallows + Bickerstaff's, not counting Wilberforce's ghost and a bunch of not mentioned in dialogue cases i. e. Mrs Barrett's tomb). that already solves the problem of trio not having free time to do chores around the house. but say show says "and now they're overworked" instead of showing, sure, but it doesn't get rid of George's stress cleaning habit.
Holly was introduced as a help, as a support to the way L&Co was already running and over the books she became more than just an assistant but a beloved part of the team. without proper reasoning as to why Lockwood & Co had to get an assistant, Holly's introduction could be messy and unprompted, something like checking a box in the list of what has to happen instead of making it story driven. something like what happened to skull's character.
and a final thing that im iffy about is the ending of the first season. somehow show rushed through and speedran Lockwood's suicidal arc as well as managed to call it out by the end of show's TWS storyline, where books didn't show any progress even by the end of TEG.
but im saying call it out, not resolve. i'd actually appreciate it if show made an effort of showing that such tendencies and lack of self-preservation aren't just resolved in a second, someone saying "stop being suicidal" doesn't magically fix everything. and yet, show still speedran things, especially given that events of the show happen in only 10 days instead of a year, and Lockwood's already made very aware of his reckless behaviour aka throwing himself in danger for people, and, what's even more questionable, for people he barely knows. which, again, contradicts his character and the way he navigates trauma.
these character and plot deviations and inconsistencies may not seem critical at first, but they might build over the course of the series and lead to a complete shift in overall narrative and spirit of L&Co as a story. which i wouldn't want to see as a fan.
to put it simply, i can see why fans want for show to be picked up for a second season, but i can't see how writers could make it coherent because they wrote themselves into a corner.
#if someone has something to add please feel free to do so!#l&co#lockwood and co#l&co. netflix#anthony lockwood#holly munro#the hollow boy#complete fiction#analysis#blogposting

woah how'd you make that green
SOCKATHAN YAOI REVIEW
Disclaimer: This will contain spoilers (kind of) for Welcome to Hell 2 Part 1 and Welcome to Hell. You should probably go watch that. Its made by Erica Wester and its PRETTY cool.)
My Yaoi Entrepreneurs, I'll be blunt with you. I know we've ALL seen gay people, maybe in the streets, maybe at the park. You might even see one in your home now, so lets be honest with ourselves. Sock is DEFINITELY gay, bisexual at LEAST.
The OTHER one on the other hand.. its a little bit harder to say.. I'll probably find something though..
Lets make one thing clear, when I say Yaoi in this review. I don't mean ANYTHING inappropriate. Its just my special way of saying gay people.. I'm kinda magical in that sense.
Lets just get the first one done and over with a simple section I like to call:
EVIDENCE 1: SOCK IN GENERAL
okay so FIRST of all the FIRST time we see sock, they call Jonathan "hot stuff" while being in a fridge. I'm not sure about you but that's love if I ever saw it.
After that they introduce you to Sock killing his parents. One key point after another. If Sock being gay wasn't important, then WHY was it shown BEFORE telling us Sock's (other) main trait. Checkmate liberals.
Sock would then get the report from Mephistopheles, and you COULD say its just because the camera zoomed in, but its literally the most light ever seen in Sock's eyes.
And then Sock went on to ruin Jonathan's day, making him look crazy, and Jonathan SOMEHOW got blamed for knocking down that desk, I swear I think the teachers just hate him. I'm not sure about you but I certainly cant KNOCK over a desk thats right next to me.
He was WRITING too.. would a guilty man of desk flipping WRITE?? NO!!
And not to mention that Sock made Jonathan look DUMB in front of the faceless brothers which was probably the closest time that Sock did their job right.
Sock absolutely ruined it today.. but can you blame them? They're new to the job, give them some SLACK.
But the upcoming days, Sock was so whimsical.
Yeah SURE. Sock is still telling Jonathan to kill himself, but they just don't want to get fired!!
Not to mention the fact that they stared at Jonathan while they were taking a piss, but there's nothing odd about that.
And also near the end, Mephistopheles calls sock out on liking the guy, and Sock stutters. You just have to take my word for it.
SOCK IN GENERAL 2 [PART 1]
If you saw Welcome to Hell 2 [Part 1], you already know what I'm gonna comment about. Sock went on to call Jonathan's mother, hot. They then went on to say "Must be where you got it from, huh? You definitely got her butt at least."
When Jonathan goes on a walk and Sock follows them and says after Jonathan says he doesn't wanna be friends with them. (We'll get back to that)
"Oh wow, come to think of it, You don't really have ANYONE do YOU? What's that feel like? Knowing you're gonna die alone." to which Jonathan snaps back with "I dunno Sock, you tell me."
Now at first, this looks like a scene of ANTI SOCKATHAN propaganda, but think with me here, yaoiers. How would Jonathan know that Sock died alone??
I understand if he just guessed, since sock DOES look like someone who would die alone, or he just said whatever comeback that came to his head but if not, Sock ALREADY told Jonathan about their past life.
If what I KNOW is true, Sock VENTED to Jonathan about their life before they died in LESS than a week, since Sock just now sees Jonathan's mother in the first part, and due to a comment made by the creator.
Sock REALLY trusts this guy, maybe Mephistopheles didn't want to hear them vent, but maybe its JUST because Sock wanted Jonathan to do the same. but they probably didn't.
And then near the end, Sock says to Jonathan when he snatched his employee manual
"Jonathan, if something happens to you-"
Actually, I think this is pretty weak evidence but I thought I'd include it, since a teacher would say the same thing if a kindergartener was up on a high shelf.
That segment was PRETTY lengthy, but I PROMISE you, the others will be shorter, I just.. didn't expect there to be so much for Sock...
EVIDENCE 2: SOCK SUCKS AT THEIR JOB.
Jonathan was DEAD ON when they told Sock that they suck at their job. And quite honestly.. I could've done it better.. I could've got Jonathan to kill himself (theoretically) on the FIRST day, and if you wouldn't use my strategy, I promise you that there's probably several other you could use for the teenager that you want them to kill themselves at home.
STEP 1: GRAB A WEAPON
Since Sock is seen to be able to flip over a desk and they're able to HOLD Jonathan's journal (Shock or not), I should THEORITCALLY be able to grab a weapon, now for this strategy, I suggest you pick a nonlethal option, only to have a lethal option around, for this example, I will be using a sledgehammer.
After swinging that at the noggin, Jonathan would drop unconscious, probably with brain damage (that don't matter though)
STEP 2: POSSESS THE TEENAGER
Now it MAY not be like this in w2h, but Mephistopheles was able to possess Jonathan when he was DEAD (Probably), so It should hopefully work when they're out of consciousness.
STEP 3: KILL YOURSELF.
Alright now I KNOW that sounds bad.. but it wouldn't be MY hands to kill him. Grab the nearby lethal and SHOOT. THAT. TEENAGER!! Your boss may not agree with the logistics of this, but you get the job done.
This simulation was to PROVE that Sock atleast CARES a bit about Jonathan to want to get to know him. and to not kill him on the spot. Now if It was the other way around.. I'm not exactly sure..
EVIDENCE 3: JONATHAN KINDA HATES SOCK
(he looks like hes standing up to a school bully)
At the beginning of Welcome to Hell, hes clearly annoyed and STILL is annoyed by some of Sock's actions by the end, but he atleast isn't mad enough to NOT act like he could put up with Sock. I think the closest thing to gayness from Jonathan was when he moved the backpack for Sock to sit down.
In Welcome to Hell 2, he IS PISSED at this guy, and honestly, if Sock kept on knocking down those desks, i CANT blame him..
Maybe Sock kinda ruined the vibe when they expressed their love for Jonathan's mother, its hard to say really..
Jonathan makes this very clear that he DOESN'T even wanna be Sock's friend, I mean HAVE YOU HEARD THE THEME SONG?
SUMMARY:
Sock wasn't able to win Jonathan's heart, making him tonight's biggest loser.
YAOI: 6.5/10

a small surprise part 3 (gravity falls g/t)
omgggggg i'm still doing this! i actually have so much written! i didn't think i'd get this far but i just can't stop. enjoy!
parts 1 and 2!
-------------------------
âAlright, shorty, where does this go?â
âRight there. In the â yeah, that one.â
âAre you sure? This doesnât look right.â
âHow would you possibly know what looks right?â
âDonât question me! I can look at a picture and know what itâs supposed to be!â
âDiagram. Itâs a diagram.â
âPsh. Whatever. Sâjust a word to make dumb nerds seem smarter than the rest of us.âÂ
âPretty sure Ford is smarter than the rest of us.â
Thatâs how pretty much every conversation had gone today.
The first couple of days werenât too bad, though it was mostly spent by Stan working on something alone until he remembered Jay was there. Sometimes, he would disappear into the portal room for hours, trying to get it back on by sheer willpower.
Now, it was day five â no, six â seven? â of the portal reactivation effort, and if Jay had to put a number on it, sheâd say zero progress had been made. She was trying her best to honor this truce of sorts that they made, but it was becoming increasingly difficult as the days went on, especially the ways heâd mock their size difference.Â
âHey, hand me those pliers, wonâtcha?â he would say, a wicked smile plastered on his face. Or heâd be sitting on the floor and pretend he couldnât reach the table when he needed something. More than once, Jay threatened to drop something on his head, but that just seemed to make him laugh even harder.Â
âOh, câmon, Iâm just teasing you, tiny,â he would say, feigning innocence, and then heâd give her a hearty poke in the back and sheâd stumble forward, often half-falling and needing her hands to stop her momentum. âDonât take it so personal!â
âEasy for you to say,â sheâd mumble, rubbing whatever part of her body was now sore.
âTake it from me, kid. When life punches you, you gotta punch back. Donât be such a pushover.â
It was almost like he was giving advice to himself as much as he was lecturing Jay. She didnât need to be told how to survive, least of all by a giant.Â
Jay tried to keep her distance, offering up nuggets of wisdom where she could, but Stan was mostly dismissive of anything she had to say.Â
Until she actually figured something out.
He was mindlessly flipping through the journal one day when he suddenly stormed off, presumably to find a soda, or something a little stronger. Curious as to what got him so mad, Jay trotted over to the open journal and ambled onto the page, setting her hands on her hips as she read over the impossibly large display.
Jayâs eyes scanned the page dutifully, trying to pick up the little things she learned from Ford. He had shown her that equations that seemed like a random amalgamation of letters, numbers and squiggles actually had meaning when you knew what stood for what.
Thatâs when she spotted it. It was a large, red W â something Ford called the âweirdness coefficient.â She didnât know exactly what it was used for, but she actually recognized the string of data that succeeded it. She followed it along, running across the page a few times to get it all in her head. She was so distracted that she never noticed Stanley enter the room, drink in hand. The loud cracking of the canâs tab snapped her back to reality.Â
âEw,â Stan said, eyeing her with suspicion as he sat down. âWhy are you so sweaty?â
âNo! Donât sit! Youâve gotta help me.â
âWhat are you talking about?â
âI think I figured something out.â
Stan nearly spit out his drink. âYou? Figuring something out? Hah, sure, and Iâm a millionaire.â
âDonât act so surprised,â Jay retorted. âItâs not like youâve done anything.â
âItâs only been a couple of days, squirt. Iâm just gettinâ started.â
Jay rolled her eyes. Stanâs machismo attitude was really unmatched. âOkay, well, can you hear me out on this one?â Stan took a long sip of his soda, then nodded. âOkay, you see this here? This big W? Thatâs the weirdness coefficient. Itâs supposed to account for the average amount of weirdness â or, anomalies â that can leak through to this dimension at any given time. So this equation here, it stipulates the maximum amount of W â weirdness â that can be allowed through P, or the portal. So, we have to make sure the leakage output doesnât exceed this number here.â She pointed to a bold number circled in red, looking up at Stan, a little winded from all the talking.Â
Stan blinked. âI have no idea what you just said.â
She groaned. âIt means we have to input this number,â she tapped it again for good measure, âinto that machine over there.â
Stan squinted at her tiny arm pointing outward, trying to hide his amused smile. He turned around, then turned back. âHow do you know thatâs the right one?â
âI just know. I saw Ford using it a million times.â
âWhat if youâre wrong and we blow up the place?â
âHey, if you donât trust me, you can just say you donât trust me.â
âAlright. I donât trust you.â
âOkay, you werenât actually supposed to say it,â Jay said, crossing her arms. âCome on! How can we work together if you wonât listen to me?â
Stan tapped his chin. He seemed to actually be thinking about it. âYou bring up a valid point.â
âYes, yes, I know. Now, could you put the number in?â
For the slightest moment, Stan hesitated. The inflection in her voice, and the authoritative way in which she spoke, sounded so much like Ford that it almost made him scream. Yes, yes, I know might as well have been his catchphrase. Stan tried really, really hard not to think about it, but for a nanosecond, his mind was filled with so much pain at the reminder of this little person spending so much time with Ford that she picked up on his speaking patterns that it made him want to curl up his fist and â
He stopped. Come on, Stan, you need her. You know you do. The sooner Ford is back, the sooner youâll never have to see her again.
âWhere am I putting it in, short stuff?â he finally asked. Jay tried to point him in the right direction, but even when he found the right knobs, he didnât know how to do it correctly.
âUgh, why donât you just do it?â Stan sighed angrily.
Jay furrowed her brow. âThis again? Are you serious?â
âDon't think this doesn't hurt my ego. But the only thing worse than having you do it is listening to you squeak about it,â Stan grumbled. âNow, câmon, just do this so we can move on.â
Jay nervously laughed. He didnât sound like he was joking. âStanley, I don't know if youâve noticed, but I canât exactly walk over there and start pressing buttons.â
âWhat, I thought you wanted to be all self-sufficient? And didnât you say you were good at climbing?â
Jay clenched her jaw. Maybe telling him little things about borrower life wasn't such a good idea. âWell, yeah, but I donât â that would take a while, and I donât think you want to wait. So just, listen, you just have toââ
âNope! Not this again,â Stan declared. He took a few steps toward her and was now looming over her, hand twitching. She knew what he was about to do, but was powerless to stop it.
âBe â careful!â she yelped. She felt her arm bend uncomfortably against her body as Stan stuck his hand underneath her and lifted her into the air. She shut her eyes tight as the pressure in her head mounted. Even when they stopped moving, it didnât feel like it.
Stan stared intently, wondering why she wasnât moving. âUh. You okay?â
His booming voice only made her ears ring more. It had to be 30 full seconds before she finally felt centered again. Her stomach dropped when she opened her eyes and saw just how far the ground was. Sure, she had been up higher, but the anxiety of sitting in Stanâs hand only exacerbated her unease. She never even felt 100% secure in Fordâs hand, given the way he would sometimes forget she was there. Fidds was the only one she felt remotely comfortable holding her.
âTiny? Hello?â Stan shook his hand a bit, as if the issue was that she forgot where she was. He felt the tiniest of pressures as she pushed her palms into his, and he immediately stopped moving. Oh.
âPlease â move slower,â she croaked, not even bothering to look up at him. âAnd donât just pick me up without asking.â
âYeah, sure, okay,â he said, sounding a bit dismissive. Truthfully, he was fully aware and then some about what he just did, but he didnât want to admit that he probably fucked up. He walked the few steps over to where the control console was and stuck his arm out, holding her out in front like a platform.
âOkay, short stack. Just tell me where to move you.â
âThe row of five switches with the red light up there.â Stan pointed to confirm, and she nodded. âYeah, that one.â
She should have prepared for how fast he was going to move, but it still caught her off guard. She wanted to yell at him for not listening, but getting fresh with a giant while she was in their hand was not something she was interested in.
Stan chuckled in amusement at how much effort it took her to turn the knob, and it turned to a full-blown laugh at the way she couldnât push one of the switches back up.
âOh, is this funny to you?â she huffed, clearly exhausted.
âOh, yes,â Stan grinned. âExtremely.â
âJust â flick it yourself, please,â she sighed, plopping down in his palm. His hand reflexively twitched at the movements, and he shot her a brief look. Man, she actually looks beat from that.
âFine, fine. Let the big guy show you how itâs done,â Stan said with that smarmy smile. Jay watched incredulously at the way his arm seemed to stretch on forever from his body to the panel. It hung over her like a heavy barrier; something her weight wouldnât even register against. He could swing his arm and knock her off his hand and he wouldnât feel a thing.
It was even worse watching him flick the switch with ease. Sure, she had watched Ford and Fidds do crazy human things all the time, but something about the way Stan did it was different. It was almost⊠taunting.
âThere. Now what?â
âWell, if Iâm right, it shouldââ
Suddenly, she couldnât speak. It was as if her entire body was frozen. A dull sensation reverberated through her, and then, pain. A loud popping sound zapped her ears and she fell backwards, landing hard on her butt, her head ringing, her body aching.
âWoah!â Stan shouted, flinching back. A small spark jumped out from the panel, but he narrowly avoided it. âWas that supposed toââ he started, but stopped. She wasn't moving. Again.
âHey, tiny, you alright?â Nothing. âKid?â Still nothing. She was definitely breathing, but seemed to be in a lot of pain. âJay, you okay?â
She grit her teeth, trying to usher the pain out of her body. Luckily, it melted away after a few seconds, and even though her head was spinning, she was alright. It was no worse than being whipped around on Stanâs hand, anyway.
âIâm fine,â she finally said, though her voice almost sounded like it was glitching. She took another moment to recompose herself. âGuess it didnât work.â
Stan almost forgot to respond. âI donât even know what it was supposed to do.â
âIt was supposed to â once you put in the W maximum, it should have calibrated a couple other systems. Thing must be fried after the portal was turned on.â
âOh,â Stan said, pretending to understand. âSo, how do we fix it?â
âI â donât know,â Jay admitted. âIâve never been inside there before. Not really sure what to do with the wires.â
Stan hummed, unsure of where to go from here. This was the most tangible progress they had made since forming this unlikely alliance, and it got them nowhere.
âWell, uh, if it makes you feel any better⊠good job.â Jay winced at the way he sounded like the words were being tortured out of him. âFiguring this thing out, I mean.â
âI got it,â Jay said, a small smile forming on her lips. Why did that compliment make her feel so⊠warm? âThanks, Stanley.â
âYeah, yeah, just donât be expecting any more compliments from me,â he shot back, though there was no bite to it. âDonât want you going soft on me.â
âPsh. Never in a million years,â Jay teased.
To her surprise, Stan set her down slowly on the table before burying his head back in the journal. He was only half-reading it, though, because he couldnât get his mind off Jay. It was so contradictory â every time she did something impressive, like spout mathematical nonsense she had no business knowing, she would be rendered immobile by a slight altitude change or a small electric shock. She was so much more fragile than he thought. It was beginning to dawn on him that he actually did have to be careful, or else he might accidentally kill her. He shuddered at the thought. He couldnât be so reckless when it came to someoneâs entire life.Â
Not again.
Ever since then, he seemed to care a little bit more about her opinion, which confused Jay to no end, but she didnât complain. Even if he was invasive and had no regard for her personal space, he seemed to have a... gentler air about him. Like he was trying more.
But it didnât always show, especially when he got frustrated. They were rapidly approaching that territory right now.
âI think the red wire has to connect to the other end,â she said, glancing at the journal. âNo, not that one, the other one! Right there â you keep missing it!â
Stan clenched his teeth. He was getting tired of being bossed around. âWell, if itâs so easy, why donât you come do it?â
Jay felt her blood boil. âI hate when you say that.â
Stan grinned wildly. âI know.â
âUgh.â Jay flopped on her back. âWeâre not getting anywhere.â
âWe? Youâre not even doinâ anything.â Stan abandoned his rewiring effort and joined Jay at the table. âMaybe youâre reading this thing wrong.â He grabbed the journal and pulled it to him, taking Jay along with it. She yelped and held on tight as she was moved at a blinding speed from one side of the table to the other.
âCâmon, get off,â Stan began to shoo her away like a fly, and Jay quickly jumped off the book. âI gotta look at this thing.â
Jay stumbled when she landed, staring up at Stan with a disapproving look until she gave up trying to telegraph her annoyance. The worst part was he didnât ignoring her maliciously; he genuinely didnât care that she was there. She swallowed, her unease growing at the extended silence as Stan scanned the journal. She had been in close physical proximity to him for basically a week now, and it was unnerving. She had no idea what he was ever going to do, and the only thing stopping him from picking her up all the time was that she grossed him out. But that didnât feel like a strong enough motivator to stop him from swiping her clean off the table if he got mad enough.
âUgh, what am I missing?â Stan groaned. He tilted his head, along with the journal, trying to find some hidden message.
Jay marveled at the way he so easily swung the book around. âI donât think youâre missing anything. Thereâs only so many ways to read it.â
âCâmon, short stack, you hung out with my know-it-all brother more than any female ever has. You gotta know something. What about theseâŠâ he narrowed his eyes, âweird secret codes?â
âYeah, Iâve tried my best with those, but I donât think I know enough to figure them out.â
âIâll say,â Stan mumbled under his breath. Jay heard it, but chose to ignore it.
Stan took a moment to think. Maybe I should go to the library and find a book about this or somethinâ. Hah, now Iâm really thinking like Ford. But the last thing he wanted was to go into town. There had to be an answer in the journal somewhere. Where thereâs a test, thereâs always an answer sheet.
But first, he was going to do it his way.
âIâm gonna go shove the lever around again,â Stan announced, grabbing the tool box and disappearing into the portal room. Jay knew it was a futile effort, so while Stan got himself needlessly tired, she would go back to working on her secret project â the new hook that would buy her freedom.Â
At best, Stan was tolerable, and being at his mercy was giving her increasing amounts of anxiety. If she couldnât go back for the contraptions that Fidds made her, sheâd just have to do it the old fashioned way. But she only went to work when Stan was asleep or in the portal room. There was no way he could know about this.
Jay had been relegated to sleeping on the table while Stan was here. He had only gone upstairs to get food and drinks, often falling asleep right on the table and getting back to work when his own snores jolted him awake.
Thankfully, there was plenty of material to work with. Not so thankfully, none of it was a rope and a paper clip. She had already fashioned two hooks out of sharp pieces of metal, so her next step was either finding something long enough to lower her to the ground or tying a bunch of short but sturdy things together. Even a parachute could work at this rate.
Her mind flashed back to times with Ford, when they would test out her physics with paper hang gliders and makeshift obstacle courses out of rulers and tape dispensers. He went through a phase of trying to see how far a fall she could take before hurting herself, but that only lasted a week before Jay made him drop the subject. His final conclusion? âVery far.â
Evidently, though, she got too into tinkering, because she didnât even notice when Stan walked back into the room, jacket shed and face sweaty from all the work. He watched her curiously, trying to see what exactly she was doing. Maybe she just messes with metal like itâs a toy or something. She was working on sharpening her hooks and finding heavy enough things to wrap them around when Stan cleared his throat, and she nearly shot 500 feet in the air.
âWhatâre you doing?â Stan asked.
âNothing!â Jay squeaked. âI mean, not nothing nothing, Iâm just â itâs ââ
But Stan was no longer interested in her ramblings. He reached down and carefully pinched one of the metal hooks between his fingers, ripping it right out of her hands.
âHEY!â she yelled, but to no avail. Even if she could fight him for it, it wouldnât have mattered, because her legs turned to jelly and her arms became numb the moment his massive fingers came next to her, filling her entire body with a sense of dread. She quickly let go to avoid being pulled up into the air.
âWhat is thisâŠ?â Stan turned the object, observing it intently, marveling at just how damn small it was. Jay felt sick at how miniscule her only path to freedom looked between Stanâs fingers.Â
âItâs nothing! Give it back!â she tried, but one glance from Stan promptly shut her up and even pushed her back a few steps. God, heâs so far away.
âHuh⊠you made this?â he asked, holding it out to her. She just shrugged, unwilling to answer.
Stan wouldnât have been suspicious otherwise, but he had spent the better part of his life either around criminals or being the criminal. He knew what guilt looked like. He also knew a bad liar when he saw one. He just couldnât figure out what she was trying to hide.
Not at first, anyway.
He tried to think: if he was that tiny, what would he need something like this for? It certainly wasnât for fixing the portal, so what was it for? Fun? Stan didnât know what was so fun about bent metal. Maybe she was just bored? Then there was no reason for her to act so suspicious. She would have just said so.
Then it hit him. Whatâs the one thing she wanted more than anything, besides getting Ford back? To be left alone. And it wasnât like she could just walk out of the room whenever she wanted.
She had been looking for an escape since Stan found her. She was manufacturing a way out.
Stan ahhâd in realization, and the way Jayâs face went pale was all the confirmation he needed.Â
âNot sure how you were planning to escape with this, and I admire the effort. Really! But you canât hustle a hustler, kid.â
Jay didnât know what that meant, but it didnât matter. Her heart was pounding, her breathing labored. She had no clue what was coming next.
âLook, if you donât wanna be here, I wonât stop you. In case you haven't noticed, Iâm not running a charity here. Iâm trying to get my brother back, and I canât seem to figure out if thatâs really what you want or not.â He callously tossed the metal back to her, and she scrambled out of the way as it clanged a few inches from her. âSo scram, alright? Get outta here.â
Jay blinked. He was⊠really going to let her go like that? She didnât believe him. Humans didnât do that. They never did. Theyâd always be back.
But that part didnât even matter, because she did want Ford back. Even with the threat of opening the portal, she wanted her best friend back more than anything. She just really, really hated working with his irritating brother, and she didnât know how to deal with him. The only people she had ever dealt with this closely were Ford and Fidds. She wasnât used to anything else. She couldn't handle anything else.
âIâm â Iâm not trying to â to leave,â Jay stammered. God, that sounded so pathetic. âI just â need some freedom, thatâs all.â
A light went off in Stanâs head. âYou canât leave, can you?â
Jay raised an eyebrow. âOf course I can leaveââ
âNo, not this room, this house. You donât want to leave here. Thereâs nowhere else for you to go.â
âIââ Jay started, but she had no words. He was right. He was right, damn it! He saw her as this helpless little thing, and he was right.
âHuh, so the squirt that thinks sheâs better than me needs me to keep her safe. Right?â
âI donât â I donât think Iâm better than you!â Jay said, but it didnât sound convincing. And she didnât even try and dispute the other point.
Stanâs face scrunched up. âHuh, you sure act like it. Well, squirt, you may need me, but I donât need you. If you disappeared right now, I wouldnât waste my energy lookinâ for you, because Iâm the one who actually cares about fixing this damn thing and saving Ford!â
Jay knew fighting back would be a bad idea. It had never, ever worked before. But she couldnât take the constant antagonizing. She just couldnât.
âStop acting like I donât want him back, either!â Jay blurted. Stan looked at her in surprise, but it was too late. The floodgates were open. She was tired of hearing this. âItâs just â itâs dangerous! And thereâs only so much I can do!â
âYeah, and you do a pretty terrible job! Half the time you sit there and mock me for not knowing the âdifferenceâ between a picture and a diagram! And there isnât even a difference!â
âThere is!â
âSee! Youâre just like Ford, always talking down to me, acting like Iâm just some â bumbling idiot who canât possibly be on his level.â
âThatâs not true!â Jay asserted. âI donât think youâre an idiot!â
âWell you certainly fooled me!â
âYouâre just â so stubborn!â Jay was nearing the edge of the table now. âYou ask for my help, and yet you canât even fathom that I would know something you donât!â
âMaybe Iâd listen to you more if you werenât so damn tiny! Iâm taking orders from someone who canât even walk up the stairs by herself!â
Jayâs eyes widened in shock. Oh, so that was it. Of course it was. How could she think it was anything else? Her heart was racing now, her stomach churning. How could she respond? Why did she ever think she could fight a giant?
âAnd you act like youâre so much better because you were best friends with him,â Stan sneered, placing particular mocking emphasis on that part. âHeâs MY brother! MY family! He probably only talked to you because youâre â weird and small and he felt bad! Youâre just a thing, an experiment for him to get all excited about! He never cared about you!â
Jay knew responding would be a bad idea, but her lips moved faster than her brain. âOh yeah? He didnât even want to think about you! I didnât even know you existed until you showed up here! Maybe if you werenât such a lazy freeloader, he wouldââ
It was at that moment her life flashed before her eyes.
#the suspense!!!#and the rewrites i did for this entire part...#ended up having to split it in two#my downfall is trying to make things as realistic as possible#which is definitely achievable when writing about four inch tall people#gravity falls g/t#gravity falls#g/t#giant/tiny#obwrites

Okay finished the Haruspex route of Pathologic Classic! I need to play Clara's route to see the whole picture but I'm already fascinated by the differences between P1 and P2 in terms of characterization. I think I like Pathologic 2 even more now considering how they improved on Artemy's route, I am sorry to say I didn't like it at all in classic... This is all just my personal impression after first playthrough ofc. Ramblings about both Artemy and Daniil â I think what bothered me about Haruspex was mostly just his attitude and his messiah plot. Once the first day is out of the way it's all smooth sailing for him, a bit too much so?? The only personal conflict he has is figuring out his father's exact wishes for him and choosing a sacrifice. Killing anyone is treated as fair or something that needed to happen and the Haruspex is always shrugging it off... And either option, Aglaya & the Town or Polyhedron... It just doesn't seem like he is that attached to either? So it doesn't feel like he is sacrificing much personally? Like sure he wants to save the Town because of his messianic qualities, but that's again more about fulfilling his 'role' rather than genuinely wanting to save lives, or at least it read that way to me. I'm sure it's meant to be both and P2 makes this far more apparent, but in P1 it elicited a rather squinty reaction from me. Plus well yeah, getting rid of Polyhedron is pretty much just ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ, like yep he sure didn't care about that thing lmao so getting rid of it isn't such a difficult choice at all. The suggestion that the Polyhedron could be his Udurgh is kind of useless because the Town and Earth are far better candidates and fit with Kin beliefs better, which in this game Artemy pretty much doesn't doubt at all. Maybe this is why the Bachelor is so present in his route? Daniil did say he'd commit suicide if he lost, maybe we'd want to think twice about pushing him towards it... But again! Does it seem like this guy cares ahhh haha... The dialogue option that is actually engaging with what Daniil said is pretty much there to make it clear to the player what the Utopian ending is and what it would be like.
Ngl at first I thought he was meant to be the 'sacrifice' until they said it's a woman. Every time Artemy learned something about the Bachelor's motivations he'd write down in his diary like '...if it matters' since the player can always choose what ending to go with I guess. I also find it curious that he can say that they are friends but still always writing only 'the Bachelor' in his diaries while Daniil switched to 'Artemy' and 'Burakh' during the final stretch. The one-sided yaoi................ đ€ At least Artemy doesn't get mad at him for ordering to set the mythic bull on fire, I guess their friendship did mean something to him after all at that point. Also when Capella tells him that he should ask the Bachelor for help with getting into the Polyhedron since the Bachelor 'fawns upon you a lot anyway' the Haruspex just goes 'oh yeah! ok' fjdghdjg... Now that I think about it I DID like the Haruspex route for what it did with the Bachelor hahah, his dialogues and letters are just so good sometimes. Like wow, I felt this.
Very cool, if i was Artemy I'd totally abandon my weird murderous calling for this. Tangentially related... P2 had one moment that I remember from my last replay when Rubin, if kept alive, falls into a deep deserved sleep in his home, and Artemy just starts emotionally monologuing at him.
Like, P1 Artemy would never, but also it goes to show that he's still very much a repressed man here too, buying into toxic masculinity ideals who can't just talk to his friends about his feelings directly... The same character, but more complex. I want to make it clear that I DO like him and his motivations in P2 actually, and his personal conflict being more about the future of the Kin makes that game much more powerful to me than what his classic route was. I heard that initially he was planned to be far more violent and dark, so maybe he could have been sort of a villain protagonist and this was changed later and this is why it feels a bit bland? Hmm... Idk this is fun to me because meanwhile the Bachelor didn't feel that different to me in both games lmao. A highly stressed educated guy who is just trying to prevent the spread of epidemic the 'right' way and then clinging to the only chance he has left to preserve both his ideals and his life. He is a bit less polite in P2 at first (while still very much helping by warding off Rubin) but then rather quickly becomes more cordial to Artemy and vice versa (and wow it sure is nice when Artemy can actually be polite and friendly..). And the moment when he explains some of his personal deal to Artemy feels rather similar in both iterations mood-wise.
I liked his route in P1 a lot, surprisingly so, and I now understand why so many people liked him before P2 came out and afterwards too... There's just something very real about how he is the intelligent Capital doctor but with an extraordinary dream to combat death itself, possibly given to him by the Powers That Be due to these children trying to cope with people dying around them. And instead of favoring him for it they hate him! They leave him with nothing but this final chance to fix things, even if that means destroying everything and rebuilding anew. Daniil's desperation feels very real and thus more compelling, plus like... I mean it's pretty much confirmed that it's not just the Polyhedron and that the soil itself is 'rotten' (literally in the meta real world and through blood beneath the earth in the Town itself) and the decease could return again, sooo his ending doesn't look that bad comparatively. I also appreciated how Maria (or uhh was it Nina talking through her here as well?) explained how their Utopia doesn't actually mean a 'perfect' place, more so just an impossible dream.
The Bachelor doesn't mind this at all, a detail I loved.
...Hmm that said maybe P1 makes it a little too easy for him to kinda ignore the Kin issue, he is only mad about their circumstances when it comes to Vlad choosing to doom thousands of the Kin workers inside the Termitary (which is just his doctor ethics). I mean it is realistic for him to ignore the implications of representing the imperialist side, he does mention his father was a military man too at some point I think... Still, he is very quick to accept the Kin's unique beliefs as something that has obvious merit, trusting the Haruspex with that side of things in both of their routes, and he doesn't make much of a distinction between them and regular Town people when it comes to patient treatment. If anything it's probably a sign of how the writers weren't thinking that hard about this worldbuilding aspect at the time... even if I appreciated them showing the downsides of the Kin's society, I think those were done better than in P2 purely because it was a bit more realistic (I am talking about sexism mostly, such as selling their own daughters and not respecting their autonomy, plus the mention of Kin politics and different ruling clans rather than the hive mind situation implied in P2). Like, it is more obvious in P1 that wholeheartedly embracing the Kin's return to tradition isn't such a good solution for them either, but one that will likely happen anyway with Artemy and Taya as their new leaders. And it could get trickier in Pathologic 3 I think, especially since most of us really appreciated the portrayal of colonization in P2 and would expect it getting addressed again in future games of other character routes, but we'll see I guess! Either way I look forward to that game a lot now.

Killer: So you can just... Sleep with your eyes open?
Shattered: Sure, if you want to call it that!
Killer: Why only call, is it not actually like that? 'Night always did it..
Shattered: Well, it's technically like sleeping with your eyes open, just that I'm not sleeping and it actually costs me twice as much energy as just sitting here would!
Killer: ... Huh

Poor Alastor could barely keep a smile on his face. He was so disgusted that this "man" was here in front of him. AND he was trying to touch him.
Adam: There's so many deers in Eden! But you're the only one that can talk... are you an angel?!
Alastor recoiled like he was just insulted.
Alastor: Ah- my good fellow. I'm most certainly NOT and angel. I am the Radio Demon!
Husk shivered as the lights flickered, and his antlers grew. His eyes flicked from. Red to green.
But, unfortunately, for Alastor, Adam was anything but scared.
Adam; Oh my! That's amazing! How do you do that!?
Alastor returned to normal, a bit shocked.
Alastor: I... Charlie, would you excuse me?
Charlie nodded, and Alastor disappeared, which only excited Adam more.
Adam: Can I learn to do that!?
Charlie: Oh- uh... I'm not actually too sure how Al does it. But- maybe one day you could.
Charlie shrugged and continued the tour.
She showed him some rooms and recreational areas. They were currently walking down the second floor. Adam was mesmerized by a sparking pink door.
Adam: What's that!?
Charlie: That's Angel's room- but he's at work, so you'll meet him when he gets home-
Adam: Angel!? A real angel? Like Luci?
Charlie: Oh! No, no. His name is Angel! He isn't an angel. Not yet.
Adam: He will be?
Charlie smiled: I think so!
Adam: Wow! So... he'll be Angel the angel?
Charlie: I guess so. I guess- that's kind of funny!
Adam laughed. He loved it.
Adam: When I had animals to name, sometimes I couldn't think of any, so I'd just call them their species name. It wasn't very creative, and a lot of the angels hated it- but I tried! It was just hard...
Charlie: Did you tell them that you were struggling?
Adam: Mm... I don't remember... I didn't want to fail them. But I feel like I have... Luci was so mad. I've never seen him mad before- and he was yelling at me! It was my fault... I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make him mad.
Charlie quickly shushed him, the poor guy started crying.
Charlie: It's not your fault, Adam. I promise. Da- Lucifer is just going through a few things. But you'll see him soon. I promise!
In Your Head
Lucifer sighed as he held the guitar that he took from the battlefield. It was Adams guitar and aside from a few scratches it looked like it was in perfect condition.
Lucifer: I'm going to miss you old friend.
Though, was friend the right word? Adam was so much more than a friend to Lucifer.
Watching him get stabbed like that had been very hard.
Was it though?
Lucifer snapped his head up, eyes wide as he looked at the angel he thought to be long dead, his helmet gone and golden blood staining his robe.
Lucifer: A-Adam? What, how are you here!?
Adam smiled at him and it was too sweet for the Adam of today the one that he turned into. But not the Adam he knew in Eden.
Adam: Oh come on Luci, you're smarter than that. No one comes back from an angelic blade to the heart. Thanks for that by the way.
That nickname sliced through his core, he hadn't heard it in so long he almost forgot that's what Adam used to call him.
Lucifer: You're not real are you?
Adam: Bingo baby! Awww, it's actually sweet. You miss me so much that I actually take up space in that head of yours.
Lucifer: Why are you so..... Nice? But look like that?
Adam shrugged and moved to sit down beside him: Probably because you don't really remember what I looked like in Eden, but more how I acted. So you just kinda...... Married the past with the present. I don't know boo, it's your mind.
Lucifer felt Adam touch his hair as if to tuck it behind his ear, but since he wasn't real the hand just went right through him.
Lucifer: I don't get it, you weren't like this in Eden.
Adam: Maybe I'm a version you've always wanted.
That made sense in a way.
Lucifer: Why would I want a polite slightly flirty version of you?
Adam smiled gently and leaned in: Come on Luci, you know why. Stop lying to yourself.~
His breath hitched in his throat, sure he had always thought about what could have been between them but...... It was always just a fantasy.
Adam: A fantasy you could have made real.~
Lucifer: You didn't want me.
Adam: How would you know? You never asked or tried. You could have had me all to yourself.
Lucifer: I could have?
Adam: Yeah. But now you never will.

Hi Birdee,
Your post from the other day about your checkup really moved me - and bilateral salpingectomy is something that has been on my mind, particularly with đ being elected now. Plus from my research it seems like it may reduce/prevent chances of getting certain cancers, which makes it a win-win ( it runs in our family).
I totally get if this is much too personal for you, so please donât feel like you should respond to this - but Iâm curious about how your experience was, re: pain levels and the process itself. Initially I was going to DM you to ask, but then I realized that there probably are a lot of other afab!folks who may be considering it due to, hence me submitted this asn. Would you recommend the procedure?
Xoxo
Hi hello friend!! god i love that shot of Joel so much. I'm totally not distracted at all.
Forgive me for taking a few days to get back to you, husband had his wisdom teeth removed yesterday and I wanted to be able to give this a good answer in case it was helpful to anyone else. Fingers crossed that is the last surgery either of us have for a LONG TIME. đ
Anyways!
I figured I'd just go through the whole process for anyone curious.
cw under cut: description of medical procedures/surgery/blood mentions
I met with my gynecologist in September to talk about options. I had a copper IUD for about 10 years and my husband had about three weeks after they overturned Roe v. Wade, but I wanted something more permanent for myself. There was still a minuscule chance that I could get pregnant and there is, unfortunately, always the chance of SA. I live in Louisiana where abortion is illegal with very, very few exceptions, and I don't really want my life being decided by some emergency room doctor in the Bible Belt, so sterilization it is!
It was surprisingly easy to get it scheduled, but my gynecologist was very willing and cooperative with the whole request. I got it all set up for the day after my birthday, which husband and I laughed about because he got his vasectomy on his birthday. Weird way to celebrate, yk?
At my pre-op appointment I signed a bunch of paperwork and she did a quick pelvic exam--I don't think this is generally part of it, but my GP's office had not sent over the results from my last pap, so she wanted to make sure everything was normal for her own peace of mind. Nothing like getting a speculum shoved inside of you with your husband sitting next to you.
Anyways, she also explained the difference between a tubal ligation and a bilateral salpingectomy. Essentially, a tubal ligation blocks or cuts your fallopian tubes, while a bilateral salpingectomy removes them completely. The tubal ligation is sometimes reversible, while the bilateral salpingectomy is not. She also mentioned, like you said, removing the fallopian tubes dramatically decreases the risk of ovarian cancer because most ovarian cancer originates in the fallopian tubes.
The only surgery I'd ever had before was, incidentally, wisdom teeth removal, and that was almost 20 years ago so I was pretty nervous the day of the procedure. Her office is in a hospital so it was done in their OR. I got there at 8 am, already starving and grumpy because I couldn't take my medication or eat or drink anything after midnight and I ate dinner the night before at 6 pm so. Grr.
They took me back at about 8:30 to start surgery prep, made me pee in a cup, drew some blood, all that stuff. My veins actually ended up rebelling when they went to put in an IV, and they had to call in their "vein expert," a very lovely tattoo-covered man named David who took one look at my arm and said "Ah, this'll be easy. She's got great veins." He poked me once and found the vein immediately, much to the (light-hearted) irritation of the other nurses. Apparently, I was just very dehydrated and it was causing problems.
I don't remember much of anything after this because they immediately gave me drugs that made me loopy and then put me under general anesthesia, but it was a laparoscopic procedure. She made three incisions--one on each side of my abdomen and one through my bellybutton, so I have three little scars. Took about an hour, and I woke up in the recovery room.
I was home before noon.
It was a little rough for a few days after, but I think I got off pretty easy. I did have some pain in my abdomen and couldn't walk around much without getting worn out. It felt like I'd done some really intense crunches and I couldn't sleep on my tummy for about a week. I also had a few absolutely wild mood swings. I didn't have any bleeding after the first day.
I still have my ovaries and my uterus, I still get a period, all that's still like it was before.
Overall I think it was as good an experience as it could be. My only complication was that my IUD, which she was removing at the same time, broke apart and now there's just an IUD arm in me, but that is mostly unrelated to this. Apparently this is common when the IUDs have been inside for a long time and she can do a procedure to take it out, too.
WHEW this is long. All of this is to say is if you're wanting a permanent form of birth control and you can afford it (mine was mostly covered by insurance), I would recommend it. Especially with the current state of things. Protecting ourselves is so important.

One night (or whatever time of the 'day' it was in the vastness of space surrounding them) Jack heard a rustle behind the panels! Jack: "Kiyoshi - wake up! Did you hear this?" Kiyoshi, who was sleeping way too comfortable with his mate tugged tight in his arms, pulled Jack even closer to him: "Mhh... hm? what?" Jack: "There was something rustling behind the panels! Maybe it's an alien creature coming after us!" They scrambled out of bed. Poor Kiyoshi still half asleep.
Kiyoshi: "Maybe we have an engine damage? This is an old ship. I hope we won't have a breakdown out here ö.ö " But Jack was sure: "It sounded like an alien creature." With all the weird theories Jack's world consists of, Kiyoshi didn't even bother to ask Jack when he ever actually heard an alien creature rustle to recognize the noises they're making...
They shoved their bed aside and opened the panel. Kiyoshi had a hard time convincing Jack to stay behind - and safe. But eventually he obeyed. Even though he's a werewolf (and the Super Soldier after all!) he's not invincible. And a stern and commanding Kiyoshi is undiniably hot!
And really, there was an open vent hole - leading into a narrow shaft! Too narrow for them to enter... (luckily ö.Ă')
They closed the hatch and secured it, then moved the panel back in place. Jack: "What are we supposed to do now? We should check the others' quarters to make sure they're safe!" Kiyoshi: "Don't you think maybe the Little Ones crawled in there, nosy as they are? To spy on us?" Skully chuckled from his perch on the sideboard: "They might be nosy but they are far from being that subtle! If they'd want to watch you, they'd barrel right in hahaHA!" Kiyoshi: "Where he's right he's right."
Jack: "But see! If it's not them, it is an alien creature - and it's coming after us then!" Kiyoshi: "Jack. We are the aliens out here... Did you ever think about that? Let's sleep. Your shift starts soon. We'll figure something out, hm? I'll message the others so they can check themselves." Jack: "You drop stuff like that and think I can sleep?"
Kiyoshi: "I'll hold you and watch over you." Jack: "Tch. Well, it's reassuring that you are on the side with the hatch. It'll eat you first." Kiyoshi: "I'd be not so certain about that. You are tastier :3 " Jack poked Kiyoshi in his side but snuggled closer nonetheless.
Soon after, Jack fell sound asleep. Because he did feel safe in Kiyoshi's arms. Aliens in the ventilation shafts or not... While Kiyoshi wished he could taste Jack just once again. And maybe he put a chaste kiss on Jack's forehead. That must do.
And Skully hummed 'I'm not in Love' by 10cc.
'I like to see you, but then again That doesn't mean you mean that much to me So if I call you, don't make a fuss Don't tell your friends about the two of us
Be quiet, big boys don't cry Big boys don't cry Big boys don't cry Big boys don't cry Big boys don't cry Big boys don't cryâŠ
I keep your picture upon the wall It hides a nasty stain that's lying there So don't you ask me to give it back I know you know it doesn't mean that much to me
I'm not in love, no, no (It's because) Ooh, you'll wait a long time for me
I'm not in love, so don't forget it It's just a silly phase I'm going through And just because I call you up Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made, ooh
I'm not in Love - 10cc
If this isn't the perfect song for the two of them then I don't know which :3 It's also from Awesome Mix No 1 (OST of Guardians of the Galaxy 1)

As a Max fan, I do admit that Max isn't perfect and I absolutely adored Lando before especially with his friendship with Max and Carlos. Lando is getting hated mainly because of the things he says and some of his actions. One was the trump thing, second, was when Max was congratulating him and he decided to snitch despite the race being over (not a big issue for me personally cause all drivers snitch). Third is the way he acted when he won the Dutch GP especially when he decided to use Max's catchphrase (I know it wasn't Max's before), most of us found it rude especially since well max's catchphrase and Lando saying that seemed as if he was mocking Max and the worst thing was it was Max's home race. Fourth, the cooldown with Lewis when Lew was merely being nice and he decided to somewhat insult him (I feel insulted despite Lewis saying it was fine). Fifth, When he called Max's win in Brazil luck not talent, I mean luck was a part of it but talent had a much larger contribution. Sixth, when McLaren fucked up and he made his engineer beg for Lando to give the place back to Oscar despite him being only there because McLaren fucked up and Iscar was doing an excellent job defending (Fuck Mclaren strategy tbh). Seventh, podium in Hungary ('twas fucked up) Oscar couldn't even enjoy his win because Lando was the center of attention despite Osc having a phenomenal drive. Eight, when Oscar had to give up a win (it was a sprint but it was still a win) just for him to lose big time from Max. Ninth, when Oscar once again had to back off to give Lando a chance to catch up to Max but he couldn't pass Charles. Tenth, this is mostly due to how the FIA has been acting. They have been acting like a knight and shining armor for Lando, especially during the quali. This is not hate, I do think he is a contender for this season, the way he's been acting is somewhat the problem. (I think I have more but this is enough lmao)
there's a lot to be covered here so i'll answer the ones that caught my eye.
3) now that i've thought about it, i'd understand why max fans in particular would be mad about it. max coined the phrase, his friend essentially used it to take a dig at him. me personally, if this is what you're getting so seriously pressed about then i actually don't know what to say. this is a sport, shithousery will ensue between friends, enemies, acquaintancesâ everybody. it's not like lando completely ridiculed and encouraged any more hate towards max; i don't know if i can say the same for max, though.
4) that one i felt taken aback by it too. don't know why he said that, it's definitely something he could've avoided saying. but if lewis isn't bothered about it, i'm not going to be. if he was, i certainly would be and will hold lando accountable (i still do anyways)
5) this is so palpably hearsay and i cannot believe you still think this. at this point, i feel like a broken radio trying to reason with you guys and tell you that that is not what he meant. i'm sure you've come across people explaining what the actual meaning is, so let's not sit here and still believe this foolishness. if, for some reason, you still don't get it, there's a post here that explains it perfectly.
6 and 7) you are talking all about unrightful lando wins, but didn't lando have to give his place up for oscar? oscar didn't overtake lando by his own will and win, so why won't we use that against oscar? some people do, but we all know it was mclaren's fault for putting them in that position. they could've easily let them stay where they are and fight for p1, but they didn't and that is how it panned out. after them guilt tripping lando into giving the place back, are we still blaming lando for this? i know you shouldn't be because as you said, 'fuck mclaren strategy'.
8) mclaren were seemingly championship contending... up until they claimed they weren't after the brazil gp (honestly, odds were stacking up against them that they weren't because they kept fucking up more than they should've). i can tell you are either quite ignorant or haven't been a fan for long, because it seems you are too used to someone winning the championship by their own merit because of the very pitiful gap in performance between the red bull drivers, but forget that many championships have been won with the help of teammates, one of the most infamous being lewis and valterri. oscar giving up his place was to help lando (who's higher in the standings between the 2) get more points and close the gap. it wasn't a rightful sprint win, we are all aware, but that's how this sport works.
10) i was going to go hell on this take, but @landhoe-norris worded it perfectly in their post:
"Imagine thinking that an organisation that rigged a race so that your favourite drivers would win a championship, an organisation that has allowed him to run other drivers off the track for the past three years without repercussions, is now being biased against him because he âhas the wrong passportâ when in all seriousness your favourite driver is the epitome of âwhite privilegeâ and has been since he stepped into the sport."
there's nothing more for me to say.
all in all, lando is not as bad as you guys make him out to be. if anything, max, in my opinion, is worse. and looks like he'll always be.

Rebekah hummed under her breath, not seeming satisfied with their results. âWhat about this time around, we try another room, rather than the bed again?" she suggested. "Maybe the shower, or your office?âÂ
Ben smirked. "Call it the teacher in me, but shower sex is dangerous...I'll consider it if the non-slip mat stays on the floor."
God, was it any wonder he was still single? It wasn't exactly sexy to fall into "safety first!" mode, nor was it appealing to be so logical about something that was decidedly all instinct.
Rebekah hesitated. âOrâŠeven here, on the kitchen counterâŠâ
Ben's eyes snapped up to her face. "Unsanitary, but intriguing. Just make sure my arse stays away from the butter dish, and I might be amenable."
Appearing discomfited, Rebekah said in a rush, âWe have to go again at least once tonight and twice tomorrow, so we might as well keep thingsâŠinteresting?âÂ
"Three times," Ben echoed, though more to himself than to her. Cheeks pinkening, he rolled his lips inward and nodded, trying not to think too much about her gasps and the feel of her tongue in his mouth. "Yeah, uh...you're right that repetition is key, but the same positions and process aren't. Laying out precisely what we want might actually make this a little less awkward too, because I'll know I have your explicit permission with every touch."
Rebekah nodded. Her hands twisted the pen in between her fingers, and then she blurted, "W-where do you like to be touched? Your weak spots, I mean..."
Ben exhaled, shifting in his seat. "Um...the usual spots, I'd say. The neck and below the belt are always winners, but I guess that's a given with just about every guy." Here, he hesitated, then added, "What you did earlier was really nice, too...when you were kissing along my...ah..." Awkwardly, he gestured to his midriff. "The whole touching everywhere but there angle is always a little maddening."
Leaning toward her, Ben's face grew impossibly hotter. "Is it bad that this is kind of turning me on?" He ducked his head into his hands, laughing self-consciously. "God, I don't know if I can take much more of this, Beks...our list is like a submission to Penthouse." Quickly, he flung up a hand. "Er...not that I've ever read that, of course, but...there's only so much a guy can listen to before he starts getting unraveled. Alas, it would seem all men truly are the same."
Lowering his hands into his lap, Ben clasped them and watched Rebekah's eyes, fully aware of how indecently close they'd become throughout all this. "What about you?" he asked, his voice a low rumble. "Where do you want to be touched?"
Heâd agreed to her suggestions with little hesitation, so why did Bekah still feel so tense? It wasnât as though they hadnât already done it once. Why was it so awkward to talk about it now? Was she honestly so hopelessly into him that she couldnât even discuss something thatâd already happened between them?Â
Maybe it was because their coupling was more of a means to an end. It was for both of them to have a chance at parenthood, not because Ben personally wanted to sleep with her. That was something she didnât want to have to think about, lest she completely ruin the vibe. For Peteâs sake, maybe she needed another beerâŠ
Busying herself, she scribbled down their current ideas. Under Benâs name was âShakespeare,â and âoutdoors,â while under hers was âMirror,â and a capital âM.â
Bekah didnât feel right writing the entire word out at that moment. As she glanced up cautiously at him, she wondered who was sporting pinker cheeks.Â
"That seem like a good enough starting point?" he asked.Â
âHmmmâŠâÂ
She wanted to say yes, but staring down at the short, sad list, she knew they should at least try to think of a couple more ideas, but rather than say that out loud, she opted to continue with another suggestion of her own.Â
âWhat about this time around, we try another room, rather than the bed again? Maybe the shower, or your office?âÂ
What was the state of his office anyway? Was it even usable?Â
âOrâŠeven here, on the kitchen counterâŠâ
The last part had sort of tumbled from her mouth in a slow, last minute thought as she shrugged through an uncertain wince, âWe have to go again at least once tonight and twice tomorrow, so we might as well keep thingsâŠinteresting?âÂ
Could she be any more awkward? The whole purpose of this conversation was to make things less so!
With a quiet sigh, she asked, "W-where do you like to be touched?" She suddenly felt dreadfully small, "Your weak spots, I mean..."
