White Horse - Chapter 18: May 2024 - Part 3
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Isabelle Leclerc (Original Character)
Summary:
Max Verstappen is a World Champion. Isabelle Leclerc is invisible.
She watched her family give up everything for Charles’ career—Arthur’s karting, their father’s savings, even her childhood horse. She understood. She never asked for more.
But Max does. He notices the things no one else does, listens when no one else will, and puts her first in ways she never imagined. With him, she isn’t an afterthought—she’s a choice. And for the first time, she realizes she doesn’t have to be invisible.
Warnings and Notes:
we have now moved on from Charles bashing to bashing his whole family, Discussions of toxic past relationships, talk about loosing a childhood pet, toxic families, mention of the loss of a parent
As always big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble

The apartment smelled like raspberries the moment they opened the door.
Belle blinked. “Do you… smell cake?”
Max grinned. “I wasn’t the only one who remembered.”
“Max,” came a voice from the kitchen. “If you let her cry in an elevator last night and didn’t bring her back to a full-blown party, I will break your nose.”
Emilie.
She stepped into the room holding a knife in one hand and a bouquet in the other, a dishtowel slung over her shoulder like some kind of aggressively nurturing chaos fairy.
“Oh my god,” Belle whispered, stunned.
There were balloons—floating near the windows, tethered in groups of gold and pink and white. A stack of wrapped gifts sat near the sofa, all tagged with labels like “Open when you want to feel dangerous” and “This one is soft because you deserve softness.” A cake—raspberry, of course—sat on the dining table, frosted with piped lettering that read “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLE.”
Max just closed the door behind them and kissed the top of Belle’s head as she stared, speechless.
Emilie crossed the room, shoved the flowers into Max’s hands, and pulled Belle into a full-body hug that somehow said I love you, I see you, and I will never let this happen again all at once.
“You’re early,” Belle whispered.
“I’m me,” Emilie said. “Of course I’m early. Of course I brought gifts. And of course I brought lunch, because I knew you two wouldn’t eat anything but adrenaline and each other today.”
Belle laughed—actually laughed—and Emilie pulled back just enough to study her face.
Then her eyes dropped.
“…What is that?” she asked, already grabbing Belle’s hand.
The ring glinted in the light. Emerald. Gold. Hers.
Emilie shrieked.
“You didn’t!”
Belle smiled. “He did.”
Max, very smug and still holding the flowers like a schoolboy in love, nodded. “She said yes.”
Emilie let out an actual squeal, tackled Belle in another hug, and then pointed the cake knife at Max.
“I’m planning the engagement party. You don’t get a vote.”
“Fair,” Max said, amused.
Belle just stood there, blinking back another round of tears. But they were different now.
Not the kind you cried because you were forgotten.
The kind you cried because someone—multiple someones—never stopped remembering.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
Emilie squeezed her hand. “Always.”
***
The dishes were still in the sink. Balloons floated lazily near the ceiling. Emilie had slipped out with a wink and a leftover box of cake, promising to return with champagne and chaos “once you’ve finished your romantic post-engagement spiral.”
The apartment was quiet again.
Max and Belle were curled up on the couch, legs tangled, her head resting on his chest. One of the cats was asleep on the windowsill. The other had made a throne of the discarded wrapping paper pile.
Max's fingers moved gently through her hair. “So,” he said, voice soft. “What kind of wedding do you want?”
Belle blinked up at him. “You’re asking now?”
“I’m curious,” he said. “You’ve had a Pinterest board for this since 2013, don’t lie.”
She smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. Her fingers curled into the edge of his sweatshirt.
“I used to want the whole thing,” she said. “The cathedral. The dress with a five-meter train. The champagne tower and a dance floor with my name in lights. I used to picture a wall of flowers and an aisle that took two minutes to walk down.”
Max watched her quietly.
“I think,” Belle said slowly, “I wanted it to feel like something big enough that they’d have to see me. Maybe if the day was big enough, loud enough… my family would finally pay attention.”
He didn’t say anything.
She didn’t need him to.
“But now?” she whispered. “After this week? After all of it?”
She sat up a little, just enough to look at him. Her voice stayed soft.
“I just want you.”
Max’s eyes softened in that way that made her feel like a secret being cherished. “You’ve always had me.”
Belle smiled—small, but certain. “Then I don’t need anyone else in the room. Not unless we want them there. I don’t need to prove anything. I don’t need anyone to clap for a day they didn’t help me dream about.”
Max nodded, his hand moving up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “So… Vegas?”
That made her laugh, for real this time.
“Maybe not Vegas. I don’t think I am the Elvis Chapel kind of girl,” she teased him.
“We can do whatever you want,” he said. “We can elope. We can do something quiet in the mountains. Or a beach. Hell, we can marry at the stable if you want. Just you, me, Fleur, and a priest who doesn’t ask too many questions.”
Belle’s heart tugged in the gentlest way. “I want it to feel like… peace. Like home. Not performance.”
Max leaned in and pressed a kiss to her temple. “Then we’ll make it peaceful. We’ll make it ours.”
She exhaled into his shoulder, her ring glinting softly in the low light.
“I spent so many years trying to imagine what it would feel like to be loved loudly,” she said. “But being loved quietly by you is so much better.”
Max didn’t say anything. He just kissed her again, softly—like a promise.
And in that moment, Belle knew: She didn’t need chandeliers or glittering crowds or performances wrapped in lace.
She just needed Max.
“I just want you,” she said, eyes closing. “I want to marry you in the quiet. Somewhere small. Somewhere soft. No cameras. No pressure. Just… us.”
Max’s hand found hers, threading their fingers together gently.
“Good,” he said. “Because that’s all I ever wanted too.”
Belle opened her eyes and looked up at him, searching.
“You’re really okay with that?” she asked. “No big party, no headlines, no Red Bull-themed fireworks?”
Max grinned. “Fireworks are overrated. And I already won the only prize I ever actually wanted.”
Belle rolled her eyes. “That was cheesy.”
“I’m in love. It’s allowed.”
She leaned up and kissed him, slow and sure, and when she pulled back, her voice was lighter. “Let’s elope.”
Max blinked. “Wait—really?”
She nodded. “Let’s find somewhere just for us. Paris. Nice. I don’t care. As long as it’s you.”
He looked at her for a long moment. His whole expression softened, all edges gone.
“Then let’s do it,” Max said.
Belle smiled. Really smiled.
And for the first time in years, the future felt like hers.
***
After dinner—if leftover cake and Max feeding her strawberries from the fridge counted as dinner—Belle curled back into the couch in her softest pajamas and his hoodie, legs tucked under her. Her hair was slightly damp from the bath she hadn’t even realized she needed, and her engagement ring still caught the low light like it had something to say.
Max was in the kitchen, drying two wine glasses that had only been used for juice. She could hear him humming under his breath, some melody half-remembered from a road trip months ago.
Belle opened her phone.
Not for Instagram.
Not for texts.
Just… curious.
She searched: “How to get married in Monaco.” Then refined it: “Civil wedding Monaco how.” Then, after clicking through a very official-sounding government page with questionable font choices: “Monaco City Hall marriage appointment calendar.”
And there it was.
A calendar. A short list of dates and times.
And one of them—the very next morning—was wide open. Unclaimed. Slotted between some dignitary from the Chamber of Commerce and a local couple named Elise and Jean-Luc.
Belle stared at it.
Blinking.
The kind of opening that didn’t just feel like coincidence.
It was like the universe had sighed and said, Here. Have something just for you.
“Max?” she called, still staring at the screen. Her voice sounded strange even to her own ears—half laughter, half disbelief.
He appeared around the corner in an instant, towel slung over his shoulder. “Yeah?”
She turned the phone toward him.
“Monaco City Hall. Tomorrow. 11 AM.”
Max leaned in, reading it, then looked at her with a slow, blooming grin. “Are you serious?”
“I didn’t expect it to be available,” she said. “But… it is. And I live here. You have residency. The paperwork is fast. They’ll process it same-day if we show up with our IDs and two witnesses.”
Max’s grin widened. “We have IDs.”
“And Lando owns a suit,” she added, deadpan.
Max laughed, that warm, throaty sound she loved. “You want to do it tomorrow?”
Belle nodded once, heartbeat flickering behind her ribs like a match just caught flame.
“I think I really do.”
Max dropped the dish towel on the counter and walked straight over, pressing a hand to her cheek, thumb brushing along her jaw.
“Then it’s tomorrow,” he said. “Let’s get married in the place where it all started.”
Belle smiled—dizzy, delighted, a little breathless. “This is insane.”
“This is us.”
And it was.
No big parties. No cathedral. No guest list with people who only remembered her when it was convenient.
Just a city she loved, a man who never forgot her, and an appointment slot.
Perfect. Just like them.

Text Messages: Max Verstappen & Gianpiero Lambiase
Max: You already back in the UK?
GP: Nope. Flight got rescheduled. Still in Monaco. Why?
Max: Perfect.
GP: …Why is that perfect. Max.
Max: Because I need a witness.
GP: A what now.
Max: Witness. Like for legal purposes. You’re free tomorrow morning, right?
GP: Max.
Max: City Hall. 10:45. Wear something decent. I’m getting married.
GP: I’m sorry. You’re WHAT.
Max: Marrying Belle. Surprise.
GP: Surprise???
Max: We’re keeping it small. Quiet. Just us and a few people who won’t ask stupid questions or ruin it.
GP: Max.
Max: I’m sending you the location. And yes, I already have the paperwork.
GP: Of course you do.
Max: You in?
GP: Like I’d miss the moment you marry the best decision you’ve ever made.
Max: See you at 10:45.
GP: I’m bringing tissues. Don’t judge me.
Max: Never.

Text Messages: Isabelle Leclerc & Emilie Abadie
Isabelle: Max and I are getting married tomorrow. City hall. Just something small. Just for us. Will you come?
Emilie: EXCUSE ME???? TOMORROW??? CITY HALL??? SMALL???
Isabelle: Yes. No fuss. Just us. That’s all I want.
Emilie: Oh my GOD. You are not getting married like you’re renewing a driver’s license. You need flowers. A cake. A moment, Belle.
Isabelle: I don’t need any of that. I just want him. That’s it.
Emilie: Yes, yes, eternal love, devotion, blah blah blah. BUT. You are still getting married. You will wear a dress. You will hold a bouquet. You will eat something that tastes like joy and sugar and victory.
Belle: I’m not even sure what I’m wearing yet 😅 We haven’t thought that far ahead.
Emilie: THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE ME. Do you still have the white dress we got a few weeks ago? The one that made you look like a romantic novel with legs?
Isabelle: ...Yes.
Emilie: Good. Wear that. It’s perfect. Simple. Elegant. You. I’ll take care of the rest.
Isabelle: Em—no pressure, really. Please. I don’t want a production.
Emilie: This won’t be a production. It’ll be a love letter. With flowers. And maybe a three-layer cake.
Isabelle: Emilie 😭 You really don’t have to—
Emilie: Belle. You’ve planned everyone else’s birthdays, surprises, parties, and holidays since you were like what, twelve?! Let someone do it for you this once. Let me.
Isabelle: ...Okay. But just a little. No spark machines. No confetti cannons.
Emilie: Deal. But I am bringing champagne. And I will cry.
Isabelle: I wouldn’t want it any other way. 💛

Text Messages: Max Verstappen & Lando Norris
Max: You have a camera, right?
Lando: …yes?? What kind of question is that?
Max: Like, a real one. Not your phone.
Lando: Yes, Max, I own a camera. Why??
Max: I need you to document something.
Lando: What kind of something?
Max: Just be at Monaco City Hall tomorrow. 10:30. Bring your camera. Wear a suit. Preferably not orange.
Lando: MAX.
Max: Yes?
Lando: ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW???
Max: Yes.
Lando: YOU’RE JUST DROPPING THAT ON ME AT MIDNIGHT???
Max: It’s 11:43.
Lando: Oh, my mistake. PLENTY OF TIME TO PROCESS THE FACT YOU’RE SECRETLY GETTING MARRIED.
Max: Not secretly. Just quietly.
Lando: Max.
Max: What.
Lando: I’M HONORED BUT ALSO PANICKING. Do you want, like, pictures or VIBES?? Do I need a tripod?? Am I the witness?? Do I bring champagne?? WHAT’S MY ROLE HERE.
Max: Your role is “friend with a camera who knows how to shut up.”
Lando: I can be that.
Wait—can I still cry a little?
Max: Only if it’s behind the camera.
Lando: Deal. Lando:I don’t even know what shoes to wear for a Verstappen emergency elopement
Max: Don’t overthink it. You’re just the photographer.
Lando: You’re getting married in Monaco city hall and I’m the photographer?? What the hell kind of fairy tale speedrun is this?
Max: The efficient kind.
Lando: Who else is gonna come?
Max: Just us. People we trust.

Text Messages: Max Verstappen & Victoria Verstappen
Max: Hey. Don’t freak out.
Victoria: That is exactly how you make someone freak out.
Max: Belle and I are getting married tomorrow. Monaco City Hall. It’s just us. Very small. Wanted you to know.
Victoria: MAX EMILIAN VERSTAPPEN
Max: Uh-oh
Victoria: YOU ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED WITHOUT ME THERE I WILL WADDLE DOWN THE AISLE MYSELF SEND. YOUR. BLOODY. JET.
Max: Vic. You are literally weeks off of from giving birth.
Victoria: And I will do it IN THE AISLE of City Hall if I must. Tell Belle I will not miss her wedding. I love her more than most of our blood relatives.
Max: I mean. Same.
Victoria: SEND THE JET. I will sit like a queen with my feet up and my compression socks on.
Max: You sure Tom won’t tie you to the couch?
Victoria: He’s already packing snacks. You think he wants to deal with me if I don’t go?
Max: …That’s fair.
Victoria: Also I already picked out your wedding gift. I knew you two would elope. I felt it.
Max: You're terrifying.
Victoria: I'm hormonal. There's a difference. See you tomorrow. PS: tell Belle I cried. But like, emotionally. Not hormonally. Even though it was a little bit both.
Max: You’re completely insane.
Victoria: You’re the one marrying a Leclerc.
Max: Touché.

Text Messages: Max Verstappen & Sophie Kumpen
Sophie: So. I hear you’re eloping.
Max: …Hi, Mama.
Sophie: Don’t “hi mama” me. Are you really getting married tomorrow?
Max: Yes. City Hall. Small. Just us. And apparently my 34 weeks pregnant sister, because Victoria is very dramatic and refuses to be excluded.
Sophie: So am I. You are not getting married without me there.
Max: You’re not mad?
Sophie: Why would I be mad? You’re marrying the woman you love. If you’d done it with cameras and fireworks, I might’ve been suspicious.
Max: It just felt like the right time. After everything. She needed to feel chosen. Not tolerated. Not remembered late.
Sophie: She is chosen. By you. By all of us who actually pay attention.
Max: She still thinks she’s too much. Or not enough. Depending on the day.
Sophie: Then tomorrow, you remind her that she’s both. Too much for the wrong people. And more than enough for the right one.
Max: I’ll remind her every day.
Sophie: I know you will. Now go to sleep. You’re getting married in a few hours and I expect you to look well-rested in photos.
Max: Love you, Mama.
Sophie: I love you too, Maxie. Now go love your girl.

Lando: GUYS
Lando: EMERGENCY
Lando: MAX IS GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW
Oscar: I… sorry, what?
Daniel: Did you hit your head again? Like, genuinely. Because this feels concussion-coded.
Lando: I’m serious!!! City Hall. 10:30. Monaco. To Belle. IT’S HAPPENING
Oscar: Wait wait wait. Like married married??
Lando: YES LIKE “I DO” MARRIED
Daniel: Holy shit. I did not have “Max Verstappen casually elopes with Charles Leclerc’s sister” on my 2024 bingo card but here we are.
Oscar: Did they even tell anyone??
Lando: They told ME. And then Max was like “you have a camera, right? wear a suit” like this is just a casual errand.
Daniel: Does Charles know
Lando: ABSOLUTELY NOT HE WILL COMBUST WE’RE TALKING INDEPENDENT-NUCLEAR-REACTION LEVEL MELTDOWN
Oscar: I need you to calm down so I can freak out at a normal pace.
Lando: WHAT DO I EVEN WEAR WHAT IF I CRY I’M NOT READY FOR THIS I WAS EMOTIONALLY UNPREPARED

Lando: I DON’T KNOW I’M PANICKING I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF I’M A GUEST OR THE PHOTOGRAPHER OR BOTH
Daniel: You’re definitely crying, though. Let’s be honest.
Lando: 100%. I already feel it building
Oscar: Okay but seriously—do we all go? Did he actually invite us?
Lando: He said it’s small. “Just us. People we trust.” Which… I think is us?
Oscar: Do we need to bring gifts?? What’s the etiquette on emergency weddings?
Daniel: I can’t believe we’re invited and Charles isn’t
Oscar: I can. Max said “people we trust.” That tells you everything.
Daniel: God, I love this sport.
Oscar: This isn’t the sport. This is a secret Verstappen wedding at City Hall with zero warning and maximum chaos.
Daniel: Exactly.
Lando: I need to sleep so I don’t have puffy eyes but I’m emotionally compromised
Oscar: Same. See you both in the morning?

Text Messages: Max Verstappen & Jos Verstappen
Max: You still in Monaco?
Jos: Yes. Leaving tomorrow evening. Why?
Max: City Hall. 10:45.
Jos: …What’s happening at City Hall?
Max: Getting married.
Jos: To Belle?
Max: Obviously to Belle.
Jos: You’re telling me this now?
Max: We decided tonight. There was an opening. She doesn’t want a big wedding. She just wants peace. Me. Us.
Jos: Good. She’s smart. And you’ve taken long enough.
Max: Will you come?
Jos: Wouldn’t miss it.
Max: It’s quiet. No press. No team. Just us. Some friends we trust. Family.
Jos: I said I’ll be there. Don’t make me get sentimental about it.
Max: Too late. You already like her more than you like me.
Jos: She’s never crashed a go-kart out of spite.
Max: That was one time.
Jos: Still counts.
Max: Thanks, Papa.
Jos: You’ve done good, Max. Really good. See you in the morning.
***
Emilie Abadie had been awake since three in the morning. .
Not because she was nervous. She wasn’t the one getting married.
It was Belle’s wedding. And that meant it had to be perfect.
Because Belle would never ask for perfect. Belle would shrug and say “just something quiet, just us” with that soft look in her eyes like she didn’t dare hope for more. But Emilie had spent the last seven years learning the difference between what Belle asked for and what she deserved.
And today, she deserved everything.
And perfection, as it turned out, required bribing a florist with a bottle of Dom Pérignon, whispering at a baker’s front door like a criminal, and coordinating a last-minute restaurant buyout with a maître d’ who still remembered Belle and Max’s first date like it had happened yesterday.
It was still early. The sun hadn’t quite cleared the rooftops of Monaco. But Emilie was already in motion—dressed, phone in hand, espresso in the other, a determined woman on a mission.
The florist had said it couldn’t be done. Snowdrops weren’t in season. They’d laughed—laughed—when Emilie asked.
Laughed. Emilie still remembered when Belle had told her about her favourite flowers. Fragile, quiet, perfect. Blooming in the cold, when nothing else did. Just like Belle.
Emilie Abadie didn’t take no for an answer.
She made five calls.
Then ten.
Then offered double the price.
Then triple.
Someone from a specialty hothouse near Nice came through. A courier had arrived an hour ago, carrying a chilled box like it held diplomatic secrets.
Now, the bouquet sat in a vase on Emilie’s kitchen counter. Fragile white snowdrops, soft eucalyptus, and one or two sprigs of pale forget-me-nots.
Because Emilie was dramatic, and because Belle deserved to be remembered in every way that mattered.
The cake was next.
Not a tiered monstrosity. Just something beautiful. Elegant. White chocolate and raspberry with buttercream. The baker—an angel Emilie had gone to culinary school with for exactly three weeks—had rolled her eyes at the timeline and then agreed with a huff. “Only because it’s for Belle.”
Of course it was.
Emilie knew how much Belle had given. To her family. To her brothers. To Ferrari. To everyone except herself.
She’d watched Belle quietly shrink herself for years—make room for Lorenzo, for Charles, for Arthur, for Charles’ career, for the Leclerc family myth.
Belle never asked for much. Never expected anything back.
So today, Emilie would give her everything.
The final piece fell into place just after sunrise: lunch at the restaurant where Max had taken Belle on their first date. The cozy one tucked behind the port with the ivy-covered terrace and the little hand-painted plates. Emilie had called the manager at 6:15 a.m.
“I need the whole place,” she’d said. “15 people. Three bottles of Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque. No fuss. No press. Max and Belle Verstappen.”
The Manager had paused and looked at Emilie:. “Ah,” he’d said, eyes twinkling. “For the couple who ordered the wine, then forgot to drink it because they were too busy falling in love?”
By 6:00, the venue was booked. The menu was set. The staff had already started laying out fresh linen.
Emilie checked the list one more time—flowers, cake, lunch, Max’s boutonnière, Belle’s shoes.
Everything was ready.
Emilie slipped her phone into her bag, gave the bouquet one last fond glance, and smiled to herself.
Because today—finally—was about Belle. Not Charles. Not their mother. Not a team or a trophy or anyone else’s spotlight.
Today was hers.
And Emilie Abadie would make sure not a single petal was out of place.
***
The morning sun filtered through the gauzy curtains, casting golden light across the kitchen tile. It was quiet, peaceful, and smelled faintly of toast and coffee.
Max stood barefoot at the stove, his curls still messy from sleep, flipping something in a pan with practiced ease. Belle was perched on the counter in one of his old shirts, legs swinging gently, a mug of tea cradled in her hands.
“So,” Max said, without looking at her, “do I get to call you Mrs. Verstappen by noon?”
Belle smirked into her cup. “You say that like it’s a threat.”
He turned, brandishing the spatula. “It is. You’re marrying a man who owns three sim rigs and talks to his cats.”
“Bold of you to assume that’s not the exact reason I said yes.”
Max grinned and came closer, slipping between her knees as she set her mug down. His hands landed on her hips. “You nervous?”
“No.” She let her forehead rest against his. “Just… full.”
“Full?”
“Of everything. Gratitude. Peace. Butterflies.”
Max kissed her, gentle and grounding. “Good. Me too.”
The moment was quiet again. Warm and soft.
Until— BANG.
The front door flew open.
“—DO NOT PANIC,” came Emilie’s voice from the hallway, “I have the cake, I have the emergency double-stick tape, I have the snowdrops—do not ask how—and I am here to take the bride.”
Belle groaned and leaned against Max’s shoulder. “She’s already started.”
Max was laughing when Emilie rounded the corner, her arms full of garment bags, shoe boxes, and a box of pastries balanced precariously on top.
She froze at the sight of them. “Okay, this is cute and domestic, but time is ticking and you—” she pointed at Belle with a dramatic flourish, “—need to be in a robe, drinking champagne, and pretending to be relaxed.”
Belle slid off the counter. “We haven’t even had breakfast.”
“I brought croissants. And mimosas. And eye masks. Let’s go.”
Max raised a brow. “Should I be worried?”
“Absolutely,” Emilie said, already dragging Belle toward the hallway.
Belle shot Max a helpless smile over her shoulder as she was swept away into the bedroom.
Max chuckled and turned back to the stove. “She’s been waiting for this since the day we met.”
“YOU PROMISED NEVER TO SPEAK OF THAT,” Emilie shouted back.
The apartment settled for a beat.
And then the doorbell rang.
Max opened it to find Victoria, already glowing despite being eight months pregnant, her husband Tom hauling what appeared to be a bouquet the size of a toddler, and both of their sons clinging to his legs like adorable koalas.
Sophie was right behind them, holding a wrapped box and beaming. “Where’s my daughter-in-law?”
Max stepped back. “Currently being kidnapped by a woman wielding florals and threat-level energy.”
“Ah,” Sophie said brightly, brushing a kiss to his cheek. “So the usual.”
Victoria waddled in and immediately headed for the kitchen. “Where’s the coffee? I need caffeine and at least one chair that won’t collapse under me.”
Tom followed with the flowers. “We brought noise. And crumbs. You’re welcome.”
The boys immediately made for the cats, causing a small riot in the living room.
Max leaned back against the counter, a smile tugging at his mouth as he watched his family pour in. “This is going to be a day.”
“Of course it is,” Sophie said, setting down her gift. “You’re marrying the best girl in Monaco.”
And just then, as if summoned, Emilie poked her head out of the hallway.
“Max,” she said solemnly. “You’re not allowed to see her for at least three hours. Also, she’s glowing. Prepare yourself.”
Then she vanished again.
Max laughed, shaking his head. “I already am.”
***
Max was mid-cleanup from the first round of croissant carnage when the intercom buzzed again.
He pressed the button. “Yeah?”
“Delivery,” came Oscar’s voice, dry and very much not a delivery person.
Max buzzed them in.
Thirty seconds later, Oscar and Lily walked in—Lily looking radiant in a pale floral dress, Oscar in a navy suit that made him look vaguely uncomfortable but also suspiciously good. There was box of macarons in Lily’s arms and Oscar carrying a bottle of champagne with all the solemnity of someone delivering a newborn child.
Lily kissed Max’s cheek. “Where’s Belle?”
“Bedroom,” Max said. “Emilie has barricaded the door. I’m not allowed to breathe near it.”
“Good,” Lily said. “You’ll see her when she’s ready. And not a second before!” she call over her shoulder as she made her way to where all the women had disappeared to.
“Do we look like well-adjusted guests?” Oscar asked, holding out the champagner, just as the doorbell rang again
Tom opened it this time—and immediately stepped back to avoid being hit in the face by a wildly enthusiastic Daniel Ricciardo, who practically burst in with his arms open.
“IT’S WEDDING TIME, BABY!” Daniel yelled, already grinning like he’d won the lottery.
Max raised his coffee cup without looking up. “You’re three hours early.”
“I brought champagne. I’m never early. I’m… emotionally prepared.”
Before anyone could respond, the door buzzed again.
“Please let that be someone calm,” Max muttered, walking to the door just as Lando arrived—In a grey suit, camera strap across his chest, looking like a documentary filmmaker who’d taken a wrong turn into a very glamorous rom-com.
“Okay,” Lando said in lieu of a greeting, “I brought the camera, the backup camera, the battery pack, and three lenses I don’t know how to use, but they make me look professional. Also, Lily said if I forgot to wear a tie, she’d strangle me with it, so here.” He pointed to the pale blue tie knotted (badly) around his neck.
“You’re fine,” Max said. “Unless Emilie sees that knot.”
“I tied it,” Lando said defensively. “I didn’t say I tied it well.”
“You’ve had years to learn how to tie a tie,” Oscar muttered.
Daniel patted Lando’s shoulder. “It’s fine. You look like a best man in a Netflix wedding movie about a surfer who marries his childhood pen pal.”
“That’s oddly specific.”
“I know what I said,” Daniel replied, stealing a macaron.
Max raised an eyebrow at Lando. “You know how to use that camera, right?”
“Please,” Lando said, lifting it and adjusting the lens. “I’m going to make you look like Vogue Monaco meets soft romance. This is going to go viral.”
Before Max could close the door, a final knock came—this one slower, more composed.
He opened it to GP, impeccable in a dark suit with a navy tie, and Jos, arms crossed, expression somewhere between “approving” and “this is ridiculous.”
“Everyone’s here?” GP asked as he stepped in.
“No explosions yet,” Max said. “Just Daniel.”
“Rude,” Daniel yelled from the kitchen, where he was now petting Jimmy the cat and eating a croissant at the same time.
Jos gave Max a firm nod as he walked in. “You’re dressed?”
“Soon.”
Jos looked around the apartment, at the whirlwind of laughter and movement, at the family Max had built around himself. He gave the smallest huff—soft, for him. “Good turnout.”
“I think Daniel invited himself,” Max said dead pan. .
Jos glanced around again. “Still. Good people.”
Max nodded. “Yeah. The best.”

Belle had always imagined getting ready for her wedding surrounded by chaos.
She thought it would feel frantic, like the final fifteen minutes before a birthday dinner she wasn’t sure anyone would show up for—stressful, too loud, a little heartbreaking.
Instead, it felt like calm.
It felt like quiet laughter drifting in from the kitchen, the scent of espresso and lilacs filling the apartment. It felt like warm hands braiding the back of her hair, like silk slipping over her skin, like music humming low from the speaker on the windowsill.
It felt like peace.
She sat on the edge of the bed, barefoot, as Victoria carefully clipped the final snowdrop into her hair. Emilie was crouched by the full-length mirror, fussing with the hem of Belle’s dress, hung up. Lily and Sophie were there too, with Lilly the cat having decided that Lily the human was her new favourite person, while Sophie was rooting around Belle’s jewellery box for earrings to wear.
It should’ve hurt.
That it wasn’t Pascale doing her hair. That it wasn’t her mother reminding her not to forget earrings or perfume or to stand up straight when she walked. That there was no Leclerc fussing around her, pretending to know best.
But somehow, it didn’t.
She’d braced herself for the ache—for the empty chair, the hollow weight of what should’ve been. But the ache never came.
Because these women? They were enough.
They were more than enough.
Then Victoria cocked her head, glancing toward the bedroom door. “By the way, are your brothers coming?”
Emilie stiffened subtly from her place near the hem. Lily glanced down at her nails.
Sophie, sipping her tea, looked up in quiet expectation.
Belle hesitated.
And then—because the lie felt too heavy in her throat, and because this was her wedding day, and she was done making excuses for people who couldn’t be bothered—she exhaled and said, simply, “They forgot my birthday.”
The room stilled.
Victoria blinked. “What?”
Belle looked down at her hands, resting in her lap. “It was race day. Monaco. Charles was on pole. Ferrari was chaos. I was in the garage all day and no one said anything. Not Charles. Not Arthur. Not Lorenzo. Not even Maman.”
Sophie sat very still. Her expression didn’t shift immediately—like she hadn’t quite processed what she’d just heard.
Victoria, on the other hand, reacted instantly.
“You’re kidding,” she said, straightening up. “They forgot? All of them?”
Belle nodded once. “I didn’t remind them.”
“But you were there,” Victoria said, voice rising. “You were literally standing in the garage wearing red! You’re his sister—how do you forget that?!”
Sophie’s mug landed gently on the vanity table. She didn’t speak, just watched Belle carefully, her eyes full of something Belle couldn’t name yet.
“They looked right through me,” Belle said, not bitter, just… quiet. “Like I wasn’t even there. Like I was just…invisible.”
Victoria stood up abruptly. “I swear to God, if I wasn’t about to pop out a baby I would’ve dragged Charles by the ear into a flower shop myself.”
“Vic,” Belle said, soft but firm.
“No,” Victoria said, eyes shining now. “You stood by them. All weekend. All year. You show up for every stupid photo call and PR stunt and family function, and they forgot your birthday?”
Emilie stayed crouched on the floor, head bowed over the dress, silent but trembling with restrained rage.
Lily’s hands were folded tightly in her lap.
Belle reached out and touched Victoria’s hand, grounding her. “It’s okay.”
“It’s not okay.”
“No,” Belle agreed quietly. “But you remembered.”
That made Victoria pause. Her face crumpled for a second before she leaned forward and pulled Belle into the gentlest hug she could manage with her belly between them. “I’m so sorry,” she whispered fiercely. “You didn’t deserve that.”
Belle blinked, eyes stinging but dry. “It doesn’t matter today.”
Sophie knelt beside her then, unexpectedly, and took her hand.
“I’m sorry,” she said softly.
“I know,” Belle said. And she did. “You’re here. That’s more than enough.”
Victoria wiped under her eyes. “Do you want us to say something? To tell them?”
Belle shook her head. “No. I want to see how long it takes.”
The silence settled again.
And then Sophie squeezed her hand and said, with quiet certainty, “You’re not invisible anymore, sweetheart. Not here. Not ever again.”
And that was what Belle held onto, as she stood and turned toward the mirror—surrounded not by the family she’d been born into, but by the one she’d found along the way.
The right people had remembered.
And that was enough.
***
The bedroom door clicked gently shut behind Sophie as she stepped into the hallway, needing a breath. Just a moment of stillness. The wedding would begin in a little over two hours, and Belle—darling, radiant Belle—was in her bedroom with snowdrops in her hair and an ache buried so deep behind her smile Sophie could feel it like a bruise under her own ribs.
She leaned lightly against the wall, one hand wrapped around her teacup, the other resting protectively over her heart. She didn’t cry—not easily, not anymore. But her chest felt tight.
Footsteps approached, soft and quick. Emilie, Belle’s best friend, slipped out of the bedroom a moment later, arms crossed, mouth pressed into a thin line. She looked like she was holding back a war.
Their eyes met.
“You knew,” Sophie said quietly.
Emilie stilled. Her expression didn’t change. “Max told me,” she said quietly. “Belle didn’t want it to become a thing. She didn’t want pity.”
Sophie’s grip on her teacup tightened.
“She said she wanted to see how long it would take them,” Emilie added, her voice softening. “How many days would pass before someone noticed.”
Sophie looked away, blinking hard at the hallway wall. “Her own mother,” she murmured. “Her own brothers forgot her birthday.”
Emilie’s jaw clenched. “Her brothers. Her mother. Ferrari. Nothing. Not even a text. Carlos was the only one who remembered, and she begged him not to say anything because she didn’t want pity.”
Sophie’s stomach twisted. “And she stood in that garage, all day…”
“In red,” Emilie said, voice flat. “Supporting Charles. Watching them celebrate. She didn’t ask for much, Sophie. She never does.”
“She gave them everything,” Emilie said. Her voice cracked, just slightly. “And they forgot her birthday. They forgot her.”
Sophie nodded, eyes shining but clear. “Not anymore. Not after today.”
There was a long pause, filled with the sound of faint laughter from the living room and the low hum of a wedding morning in motion.
Then Emilie exhaled shakily. “Max said she broke down the second she saw him.”
Sophie closed her eyes for a beat.
It wasn’t just forgetfulness. It wasn’t a mistake. It was neglect wrapped in a red suit and family pride. It was inexcusable.
“She’ll never be alone again,” Sophie said, her voice steel beneath the softness. “Not while I’m breathing. Not while Max is.”
“I know,” Emilie said. “That’s the only reason I didn’t walk into Ferrari and slap someone.”
They stood in silence again, shoulder to shoulder.
Then Sophie reached over and gently squeezed Emilie’s hand.
“You did this for her,” she said. “The flowers. The cake. The restaurant. You gave her the kind of day they never thought to.”
Emilie’s eyes went glassy. “She deserves perfect. I couldn’t give her perfect, but—”
“You gave her love,” Sophie said firmly. “And that’s what matters.”
***
The apartment had quieted.
Everyone had settled into easy, pre-ceremony chaos—little moments scattered across the rooms like confetti before the storm. Daniel was dramatically explaining champagne etiquette to Oscar, who looked halfway between fascinated and alarmed. Lando was on the floor, coaxing Jimmy the cat into an impromptu wedding-themed photoshoot. Tom sat cross-legged on the couch, reading a picture book to Luka and Lio, the boys draped over him like sleepy lion cubs.
Max stood in the kitchen, coffee mug in hand, back to the counter, staring out the window toward the glittering stretch of Monaco coastline. The city buzzed quietly beyond the glass. But in here, for now, there was stillness.
The kind of stillness right before the most important lap of your life.
GP stepped up beside him without a word, mirroring his stance with practiced ease. They didn’t speak at first. They didn’t have to.
“She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you,” GP said eventually, voice low.
Max nodded. “I know.”
“You were always good,” GP added. “But you’re not just good now. You’re… grounded. Steady.”
Max exhaled, eyes still on the view. “She gave me somewhere to land.”
GP’s expression shifted just slightly—quiet pride, maybe. “You’ve always fought for every tenth, every inch. But with Belle? You stopped fighting yourself.”
Max glanced at him, something tired and raw in his eyes. “She sees everything. Even the parts I didn’t want anyone to see.”
“She never asked you to change.”
“She didn’t have to,” Max said.
They stood in silence again, until a familiar voice cut in behind them.
“She’s not just your landing place,” Jos said, stepping into the kitchen, arms folded. “She’s your spine.”
Max turned, but didn’t speak.
Jos’s face was set. Not angry, but serious in that sharp, bone-deep way that came from decades of knowing how to read race tape and sons in equal measure.
“I wasn’t easy on you,” Jos said quietly. “I know that. I pushed too hard. Expected too much. Thought it was the only way you’d be great.”
Max swallowed, but didn’t interrupt.
“But Belle…” Jos looked toward the hallway, where a burst of laughter echoed from the bedroom. “She gave you something I couldn’t. Peace. Balance. You didn’t slow down. But you stopped burning out.”
GP gave a soft hum of agreement, but said nothing.
Jos stepped forward, brow furrowed now. “And she shows up for you. For everyone. All the time.”
Max nodded slowly. “She does.”
Jos shook his head, voice tight now. “So why the hell did her family forget her birthday?”
The silence hit like a dropped hammer.
Max looked up, sharp. “You know?”
“I overheard Emilie talking to Sophie in the hallway,” Jos said. His voice was low, but thunderous. “You’re telling me her entire family forgot? Her mother? Her brothers? Even Ferrari?”
Max’s jaw clenched.
GP was still, hands in his pockets, but his voice came out even. “They didn’t just forget. They looked straight through her in the garage. Carlos was the only one who noticed. She told him not to say anything.”
Jos looked furious in the quiet way only a father could—like he was cataloging every hurt, every slight, and filing them away for later retribution.
“She stood there,” he muttered. “All day. On her birthday. Wearing red. And they didn’t see her?”
“She didn’t cry until after,” Max said, his voice low. “But when she did… it broke her.”
Jos looked at him. “She tell them?”
“No,” Max said. “She’s done reminding people she exists.”
Jos’s shoulders shifted, like he was bracing himself against something. “Good. Let them feel that silence.”
Max stared down at his coffee cup for a moment, then set it aside.
“I’m going to spend the rest of my life making her feel seen,” he said, steady now. “The way they never did. The way she deserves.”
GP gave a quiet, approving nod. “Then you’re ready.”
Jos didn’t say anything for a long beat.
Then he stepped forward, placed a firm hand on Max’s shoulder, and said, with something rough in his voice, “She’s already ours. But make it official.”
Max blinked hard.
***
The kitchen had been peaceful—a relative term, given there were six men, two toddler, three cats, and a bottle of champagne open by 9 a.m.—but peaceful by Verstappen standards.
Max was leaning against the counter, sipping his coffee while Jos surveyed the chaos in thinly veiled amusement, and Tom tried to get jam off his shirt collar thanks to a child-induced pastry incident.
Then the storm arrived.
Emilie swept into the kitchen like a tiny, immaculately-dressed hurricane, her eyes narrowing the instant she caught sight of Lando.
“Why,” Emilie said, appearing in the doorway like a Roman general entering enemy territory, “are half of you not wearing ties?”
“You,” she declared, pointing with a precision that would’ve made a military officer proud.
Lando looked up from where he’d been fiddling with his camera settings. “Me?”
“You call that a tie?” she said, already moving toward him like a missile in heels. “What is that knot? A shoelace? A cry for help? Is that your idea of a tied tie?”
Lando looked down at the pale blue knot that resembled something between a tangled seatbelt and an existential crisis. “Technically… yes?”
Emilie sighed so dramatically it could have won an award. “Come here.”
Lando, blushing furiously, stood like a man facing execution. “You’re kind of scary,” he muttered.
“I’m not scary,” she said, adjusting his collar. “I’m just French and disappointed.”
Max leaned against the counter, watching with mild amusement as Lando was wrangled into place. Emilie was adjusting the tie like she’d done it a thousand times, completely unfazed by the 5 feet, 6 inches of confused British man blinking at her.
Lando stood frozen, blinking down at the very pretty girl fixing his tie with the terrifying precision of someone who had made wedding planning a full-contact sport.
“Can I breathe yet?” Lando asked, voice faint.
“When I say you can,” Emilie replied sweetly, stepping back and tilting his chin. “Fashion is pain,” Emilie said sweetly, patting his cheek. “Suffer with dignity.”
“I’m… scared of her,” Lando muttered to Max once she turned away.
“You should be,” Max replied, utterly unbothered.
“Okay,” Emilie said, spinning on her heel, “who’s next—”
Her eyes landed on Tom.
Tom, who had attempted to get away with a cravat.
She narrowed her eyes. “What is this? Pride and Prejudice?”
“I was trying to be elegant,” Tom said defensively, one child clinging to each of his legs like barnacles.
“This is Monaco, not Pemberley,” Emilie replied, already reaching into her tote bag like Mary Poppins from hell. “Lose the cravat.”
Five seconds later, Tom had a new blue tie around his neck.
Jos, leaning near the counter with a coffee, smirked.
“I’d like to see her try that with me,” he muttered.
Emilie pivoted.
Jos raised a brow.
She raised both.
“Unless you’d like to be mistaken for security and asked to stay outside,” she said coolly, “you’ll put one on.”
There was a pause.
Then—without breaking eye contact—Jos slowly reached for the tie GP handed him with what looked suspiciously like amusement.
“I like her,” he said to no one in particular.
Emilie snapped her fingers at Daniel next. “No.”
“What do you mean ‘no’?” Daniel asked, grinning. “This tie is excellent. It has tiny cartoon race cars on it!”
“And you are a groomsman not a children’s birthday clown,” Emilie replied. “Change. Now.”
“But—”
“I will burn it,” she said calmly. “I have a lighter in my purse.”
Daniel blinked. “Wow. Okay. Yep. Good. I’ll change.”
Only Oscar and GP escaped unscathed—Oscar because Lily had pre-approved his ensemble, and GP because he was actually a functional adult.
Emilie gave them a nod of silent approval. “Finally. Men who understand basic dress codes.”
Max was watching all of it from the corner, leaning against the counter, arms crossed over his chest and a fond smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Emilie spotted him.
“You’re next.”
“I already did mine,” Max said, lifting his chin.
Emilie narrowed her eyes, came closer, and tugged gently at the knot. It was fine. Almost perfect.
“It’s crooked.”
He didn’t even argue. Just tilted his chin and let her fix it. She did so with practiced fingers, then stepped back and gave him a once-over.
“You’ll do.”
Max smirked. “High praise.”
“You’re marrying my best friend. You’re lucky I didn’t make you wear the floral pocket square.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Max said, grinning.
Then the apartment stilled.
Because the bedroom door opened.
And Belle stepped out.
Max looked up—and every word left his brain.
She stood there in the soft light of morning, her white dress falling like water around her, the snowdrops tucked into her curls catching the sunlight. Her hands were folded gently in front of her, her eyes finding his across the room.
Max didn’t move.
Didn’t breathe.
The chaos of the morning vanished.
It was just her.
Standing in the archway in a white dress that somehow managed to be simple and devastating at the same time. Her dark hair was curled and loosely pinned, a few snowdrops tucked gently above her ear. She had one hand loosely holding a bouquet, and the other nervously adjusting her sleeve. Her eyes swept the room, soft and uncertain—
Until they found his.
Max forgot how to breathe.
“Hi,” she said, voice quiet, like it was just for him.
Max swallowed. His throat was suddenly too tight.
He took a slow step forward, then another, like any sudden movement might shatter the moment. When he stopped in front of her, his hands hovered for a second before finally settling on her waist.
“You’re—” He couldn’t finish.
Belle tilted her head. “I’m what?”
Max blinked, and his eyes burned. He hadn’t expected that.
“You’re beautiful,” he said, barely above a whisper. “You’re so—”
She smiled, soft and real and a little shy.
“Max,” she said gently, reaching up to brush her fingers against his jaw. “Breathe.”
“I can’t,” he admitted, voice cracking. “You look like a dream I’d never let myself have.”
Belle’s smile faltered—just for a second—then turned into something deeper. Warmer. Her eyes shimmered.
Daniel, somewhere behind them, sniffled. “Okay, I take it back. This is romantic enough to ruin my day.”
“Shut up, Daniel,” Oscar muttered.
But Max didn’t hear any of it.
He only saw her.
The girl who’d stood in a Ferrari garage on her birthday and been forgotten. The woman who’d cried in his arms and still said yes. The one person who saw him fully and never once turned away.
And now she was standing in his kitchen—in their kitchen—in a white dress and snowdrops.
Looking at him like he was home.
“Ready?” she whispered.
Max nodded, his hands tightening gently on her waist.
“More than ever.”
And when he kissed her—just once, careful not to smudge her lipstick—the whole room exhaled with them.
They had a wedding to get to.
But for that moment, they were already everything.
***
Belle had walked into a hundred government buildings before. Cold hallways. Beige walls. Bored clerks behind scratched counters. Monaco’s city hall should have felt the same—official, impersonal, municipal.
But today?
It felt like walking into a cathedral.
This wasn’t the wedding she had imagined as a little girl.
There was no aisle of flowers. No choir. No dramatic gown or fanfare or chandeliers. Her mother wasn’t there. Neither were her brothers. There were no headlines.
And still—it was perfect.
This was hers.
This was theirs.
Small. Quiet. Real.
She squeezed Max’s hands. He squeezed back.
And as the officiant began to speak, Belle felt a slow warmth fill her from the inside out.
You’re not invisible anymore, she told herself. You never were. Not to him.
And in that moment, under the soft light and quiet vows and steady eyes of the only man she’d ever trusted with her whole heart—
Isabelle Leclerc became Belle Verstappen.
And for the first time in her life, she didn’t need the world to notice.
She had everything she needed right in front of her.
She hadn’t written anything down for the vows.
There was a version of Belle that would have. That would’ve planned every word, practiced every pause, agonized over saying it all just right.
But not today.
Because nothing about Max had ever needed performance.
The officiant nodded to her gently. “Belle?”
She took a breath. And then another. Max didn’t rush her. He just waited—hands in hers, thumb brushing lightly across her knuckles, grounding her.
“I don’t think I ever believed love could be soft,” she said quietly. “Not the kind that lasts. I thought it had to be earned. Proved. Negotiated into place.”
Her voice wavered. Max didn’t blink.
“I spent so much time being the one who remembered everyone. Who carried everything quietly. And I think I started to believe that was the best I could hope for. That if I was useful enough, maybe I’d be loved in return.”
She looked up, eyes shining.
“And then I met you,” Belle continued. “And you didn’t ask me to perform. You didn’t ask me to be anything but exactly who I already was. You saw me. Even when I didn’t want to be seen. Especially then.”
Her voice shook, just a little. Max’s thumb brushed across her knuckles.
“I’ve spent so much of my life holding other people’s pieces,” she said, “but you—Max—you were the first person who held mine. Quietly. Gently. Steadily. You never tried to fix me. You just stayed.”
A tear slipped down her cheek, and she let it. Didn’t wipe it away.
“So I promise to stay, too. To be soft where the world is hard. To be the quiet when everything gets too loud. To love you in the way you’ve always deserved but never asked for.”
And when she smiled, Max smiled back—like the sun had finally come up.
The officiant nodded to him.
“Max?”
He exhaled, but didn’t look away from her. He lifted her hands to his lips first, kissed them gently, and held them between them like they were the only steady thing in the world.
“I don’t remember the moment I fell in love with you,” he said softly. “It just happened, like a breath you take…quietly and then all at once.”
Belle’s breath caught. He held her gaze, steady and unwavering.
“I never thought I’d be lucky enough to love someone like you,” he said softly. “Someone who sees through everything. Who remembers the smallest things and never asks for credit. Who holds the weight of the world and still has room to make me feel like I’m home.”
His voice cracked then.
“You are not invisible. Not to me. You never were. I see you, Belle. Every version. Every scar. Every soft edge you try to tuck away. And I love you for all of it.”
Belle’s lips trembled.
Max’s thumb brushed along her hand again.
“I promise to hold you, every day. To never let you feel alone in a room full of people again. I promise to be your quiet, your home, your person. Forever.”
There wasn’t a sound in the room. Not a breath. Even the officiant cleared his throat like he needed a second.
Belle didn’t speak.
She just leaned forward—slow and sure—and pressed her forehead to Max’s.
And everything else fell away.
Her hands were still in his. Her forehead was resting against Max’s. Her heart was loud—but steady.
She could feel his breath on her cheek. The way his thumbs brushed hers. How he didn’t look away. How he never did.
The officiant’s voice was calm, warm. “Do you, Max Emilian Verstappen, take Isabelle Amélie Thérèse Éléonore Leclerc to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do,” Max said instantly. No hesitation. No breath between.
“And do you, Isabelle Amélie Thérèse Éléonore Leclerc, take Max Emilian Verstappen to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do,” she whispered, and it was the easiest truth she’d ever spoken.
The officiant smiled.
“Then by the authority vested in me by the Principality of Monaco, I now pronounce you husband and wife.”
A pause.
“You may kiss—”
But Max didn’t wait.
He kissed her the second the words left the officiant’s mouth.
It wasn’t rushed, but it wasn’t gentle either. It was grounding. Fierce. Like he’d been holding his breath for a lifetime and could finally exhale.
Belle kissed him back just as hard, hands in his hair, heart pounding.
There were cheers. Scattered applause. Laughter.
And then—
“NOW!” Daniel’s voice rang out from the back like a commander on a battlefield.
Belle broke the kiss just in time to see it:
A blur of chaos. Daniel and Oscar tossing flower petals like overenthusiastic flower girls, flinging them directly at them.
Belle let out a laugh so sudden it startled even her. Max was still holding her hand, laughing softly too, eyes never leaving her.
“Seriously?” he murmured under his breath.
“This was always going to happen,” Belle replied, grinning.
Victoria was crying. Sophie was dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief Jos was blinking suspiciously fast.
And Emilie?Emilie was smiling so big Belle’s heart almost burst.
Belle looked back at Max—her husband. Her husband—and felt something settle in her chest.
This was hers.
Messy. Soft. Completely perfect.
And just beginning.
Max leaned down again, kissed her forehead. “Mrs. Verstappen,” he said, voice low and thrilled and a little overwhelmed.
She smiled up at him. “Mr. Verstappen.”
And Belle had never, ever felt so seen.
***
Belle hadn’t stepped into Overture in over a year.
It still looked the same—tucked into a quiet side street just off Port Hercule, all pale stone and soft wood, sunlight spilling through ivy-wrapped windows. There were no banners. No “Congratulations” signs. No garish floral arches.
Just one long table set under a canopy of olive branches in the back courtyard, decorated in quiet whites and soft greens. Candles flickered in the breeze. Snowdrops—snowdrops, in May—were tucked into every napkin ring.
Belle turned to Emilie, who only raised an eyebrow and said, “Don’t ask how. I threatened a florist and bribed an importer.”
“You’re terrifying,” Belle whispered, blinking back tears.
“You’re worth it,” Emilie replied.
Laughter echoed as guests filtered into the courtyard. Daniel declared he would be in charge of pouring champagne. Lando was trying to fit three cameras into one discreet corner. Jos already had a drink in hand and was engaged in a deeply serious conversation with Oscar, who looked vaguely terrified. Lily and Sophie had settled into a side table with quiet smiles and quiet tears.
Their table filled slowly—Victoria easing into a seat with a dramatic sigh, her hand protectively on her bump, Tom at her side, two rambunctious boys wrecking havoc. Emilie adjusted every flower and napkin with military precision. Someone had even tied the cats’ names onto little placeholders even though they were obviously not present.
They toasted with champagne and laughed until they couldn’t breathe.
There was no DJ. No cake tower. No press outside.
Just a warm breeze. Clinking glasses. The people who had shown up.
Midway through lunch, Daniel stood abruptly, champagne flute in hand. “To Max and Belle,” he grinned. “May your love be as steady as GP’s voice in Max’s ear, and as dramatic as Oscar trying to parallel park.”
Oscar, mid-bite, choked.
Belle laughed so hard she had to put her fork down.
And then, as the laughter died down, GP stood. Slowly. Unassumingly. Everyone quieted with the kind of instinctive respect only earned by someone who rarely asked for the room.
GP cleared his throat, glancing briefly toward Belle, then Max.
“I’m not one for speeches,” he said, hands loosely folded, gaze sweeping the table. “But I’ve watched Max for a long time. Through wins and losses. Through fire and fury and everything in between. And I’ve never seen him more certain. More grounded. More… at peace, than when he looks at you, Belle.”
She looked down, blinking fast. Max took her hand under the table.
GP’s voice softened. “So thank you. For being that peace. For loving him the way he didn’t even know he needed. You make him better, Belle. But not because you ask him to change. You make him better by seeing him. Fully. And somehow, without ever stepping onto the track, you’ve become the most important part of our team.”
He lifted his glass. “To you both. For reminding us that there’s strength in stillness, and love in the quiet corners.”
Belle blinked fast, lips parted, chest aching in the best way.
Max reached over, tangled their fingers together under the table.
The meal ended with a cake—simple, white, laced with raspberry and white chocolate. Belle stared at it, already emotional, as Emilie leaned over and whispered smugly, “Don’t cry. You’re wearing mascara.”
“I hate you,” Belle whispered.
“You love me.”
Belle reached over and took her hand, eyes shining. “I do. I really, really do. Thank you for all of this. For… everything. You gave me the kind of day I didn’t know I was allowed to want.”
Emilie’s expression softened. “You deserved it. All of it.”
This wasn’t the wedding Belle had once imagined—the ballroom, the crowd, the spectacle.
It was better.
It was quiet, and full of laughter. It smelled like eucalyptus and honey. It tasted like home.
And most importantly: it felt like love.

@/PitLaneParanoia: Okay but if it wasn’t Oscar’s wedding… then whose was it???
@/gridshenanigans: WAIT. Wait wait wait. What if it was Lando’s wedding???
@/McLarenSpy: He has been weirdly quiet since the win in Miami…
@/chaoticpaddock: IMAGINE if Lando Norris just casually got married and let everyone spiral about Oscar instead.

Stream Transcript: Lando Norris & Max Fewtrell
Lando: (leans back in his chair, stretching) “Okay, chat, before you all start spamming—yes, I saw the Twitter stuff. Yes, I was at Monaco City Hall. No, I didn’t get married. You can all calm down.”
Chat:YOU GOT MARRIED?! WHO WAS IT THENOSCAR OR LANDOOOOOWHAT DO YOU MEAN "NO" STOP LYING TO US NORRIS
Max Fewtrell: (joining the stream, headphones askew) “Wait, wait, wait. Back up. What did I just walk into?”
Lando: (grinning way too hard) “Twitter thinks I got married.”
Max F: “...Did you???”
Lando: (sputtering) “What?! No! No, mate—God—why would I—? No!”
Max Fewtrell: (squints at him through the screen) “You’re acting weird. That’s exactly what someone who secretly got married would say.”
Lando: (waving his hands) “I was just at the city hall, okay? I was a guest. I brought my camera. That’s it.”
Chat:"JUST A GUEST" SUUUREHE’S FREAKING OUT OMGLANDO WHO WAS ITWHY ARE YOU SO SHADY
Max Fewtrell: “Wait… was it Oscar?”
Lando: (visibly sweating) “I—NO—it wasn’t Oscar. He was also a guest! He brought… macarons. Like a very elegant little wedding guest. And he wore a suit!”
Max Fewtrell: (laughs) “So if it wasn’t you or Oscar… who got married?”
Lando: (looks directly at camera, then away, then back again) “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Max Fewtrell: “Oh my God. It was someone! You little cryptid! You’re hiding something!”
Lando (visibly flustered): I WAS A GUEST. I HAD A TIE. THAT’S IT.
Max F: You’ve never worn a tie willingly in your life.
Lando: (panicking, adjusting his headset) “I’m just saying… maybe some people like their privacy, alright? Not everyone wants a big flashy wedding. Some people like… small things. Quiet things. With like… flowers and—”
Max Fewtrell: “Mate, you’re digging a hole. You might as well tell us.”
Lando: (points at camera) “Nope. I’m loyal. I’ve been sworn to secrecy. That’s it. That’s all I’m saying.”
Max Fewtrell: “Sworn to secrecy means it was someone! Confirmed! Chat, we’re getting somewhere.”
Lando: (leans forward, whispers into mic dramatically) “Chat, if I mysteriously disappear after this stream… I was never here.”
Chat: RIP LANDOHE’S GOING TO BE TAKEN OUT BY THE WEDDING MAFIATHIS IS BETTER THAN DRIVE TO SURVIVEFREE HIM
Max Fewtrell: “So to summarize: Oscar did not get married. Lando did not get married. But someone did. And Lando is freaking out.”
Lando: (facepalming) “Why did I open my mouth.”
Max Fewtrell: “Because you love chaos. That’s why.”

GOJO SATORU: IT'S YOU AND ME, THAT'S MY WHOLE WORLD
✩ ‧ ˚. synopsis: one kiss turns into two, and before you know it, an innocent gaming session turns into something more. (streamer!au)
contents: fem!reader. suggestive (kissing/making out). the ending can be interpreted as sex. non-sexual usage/mentions of lollipops bc i have a sweet tooth and i want a lollipop rn. i didn't really spend a lot of time on this one, but i thought i'd post it anyways. whatever, your favorite streamer boyfriend is back! did you miss him? (the answer is yes). -1K words.

"you're not that good, are you?" you ask with a grin, twirling a lollipop in between your fingers. in front of you, satoru's avatar gets shot down by a couple others for what seems like the hundredth time, and right on cue, satoru curses his bad luck. "you know, maybe you'd be better if you were actually focusing on the game."
"it's not my fault," satoru insists petulantly, a childish pout appearing on his face. he sticks out his bottom lip and rests his chin on top of your head. "how am i supposed to be able to focus with you in my lap?"
you stick your lollipop in your mouth and shrug, a little smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you hum indifferently. "sounds like you're just making excuses..."
"oh?"
satoru pinches your cheek teasingly with the hand not resting on top of his mouse, fingers skating from the side of your face to your lips as he tugs out the lollipop. he ignores your halfhearted protests and pops it into his mouth, smiling cheekily as he does so. in the darkening computer screen in front of you, you can see your boyfriend's smug expression, which smirks back at you. "mmm, this flavor's good. what is it?"
"strawberry, i think," you reply instinctually. satoru shakes his head in response, taking the candy out of his mouth and twirling the stick in between his thumb and index finger before he corrects you.
"actually, i think it's you i'm tasting," he quips, clicking around with his mouse for a second before he opens up the photo app. your reflection gazes back at the two of you in satoru's comfortably large gaming chair.
"no wonder you have no game," you deadpan, looking away from the mirror image of you and satoru and towards the ceiling.
"baby, you're literally sitting in my lap right now."
"yes, and?"
satoru's laugh is clear and blue, like a sunlit sky in the middle of june. it almost feels like he hasn't been able to stop smiling around you ever since "the incident," and honestly, you wouldn't have it any other way.
he sticks the lollipop in between your lips and stops you from verbally bashing him any more than you already have. the sweet, tangy taste is a welcome sensation in your mouth, and satoru can't help but smile endearingly when your reflection looks at him with round eyes. "you're so cute," he mumbles, punctuating each word with a kiss to the top of your head.
a soft giggle slips out of your lips in response. "shut up." even as you say that, you already know his answer. if there was one bet you'd make without a doubt, it'd be that satoru can never seem to shut up whenever you're in his line of sight.
satoru's hands find themselves on your waist, and they turn you around so you're facing him. there's a different (but not unpleasant) look in his eyes as he gazes at you, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear.
"what is it?" you ask curiously, noticing the subtle change in his expression. his eyes soften from what looked like a teasing glance to an almost longing stare.
"nothing," he hums, kissing you in between your eyes. "you're just pretty."
satoru's hands thread themselves through your hair, lightly touching the back of your neck as his lips move down to brush against yours. you extract the lollipop from between your lips and tilt your chin up, kissing satoru with a little smile. like always, he tastes like sweetened peppermints, even though you've never seen him eat one before. you'll have to ask about that later, but for now, all you can focus on is the way satoru gently nips at your bottom lip as if he's asking for attention.
you hum softly, opening your eyes and squinting at satoru, who can't help but smile against your lips. "you taste like strawberries," he mumbles, peppering butterfly kisses on the corner of your mouth in between words. "so sweet..."
you exhale faintly, not wanting to pull away from his peppermint-scented lips, and let your eyes flutter closed again. something about the way satoru's hands rest delicately on your waist makes you feel more comfortable than you've been in a while. maybe it's just the hoodie satoru had forced on you earlier when he saw you were shivering, or maybe it's the steady beat of satoru's heart that's almost therapeutic against your chest; whatever the case, you can't remember the last time you've been this at ease.
between his complicated streaming schedule and your busy life, moments like these are rarer than you'd like, but that only makes them all the more special.
five, ten, maybe even fifteen minutes pass by in silence, with the only sound being the soft murmurs shared between you and satoru. his lips fit over yours like two pieces of a puzzle, and the way you fit in between his arms almost feels too good to be true. but thanks to the slender hand that slips underneath the waistband of your shorts and the gentle tug at the bottom of your shirt, you know only too well that this is real; and hopefully, it always will be.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Toji x fem/afab! reader - explicit content; minors DNI - oral (m! receiving) - ball-massaging - face + throat-fucking - praise - pet names (baby, cutie, mama, sweet thing) - implied that reader has given oral prior - first-time Toji finding enjoyment in receiving oral - heavy depictions of a blowjob - mention of spit.
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: "Toji has never really enjoyed oral. At least, not until Y/n went down on them for the first time…"
I was playing with NSFW prompts for the first time, and this was literally the first one it gave me…genius. (¬‿¬) guess kinda a switch-up from this oldie i did~ hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's, accept this as my welcome back present, hehe~ also tysm for 4.6k, hello????
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1.6k

“…Hey, Toji?”
“Yeah, baby?”
“…Can I…..give you a blowjob?”
Up until this point, Toji was never one to be given oral from anyone.
Giving oral isn’t a problem. But receiving it from someone else? That’s another thing. Call it his personal preference or years of sexual experience, but the older man never actually found pleasure in it. It could be from the many inexperienced minxs he’s had to get his dick wet, whose frequent teeth and bites sabotaged the mood for him. Or probably from the others who just really didn’t appear to know what they were doing — again, ruining the mood. Or the fact that most of the time, as mentioned, he finds himself satisfying his partner at the time more than himself.
Not that he minds at all; no, no. He finds great satisfaction in going in between someone’s legs and getting them turned on from his work. But when it comes to the thought of having his dick sucked, it’s a hard pass. Respectfully.
Which brings us to the present: him on the couch with an arm wrapped behind your shoulders, bringing you close to him as you watch television comfortably. The ceiling lights dimmed to a warm low glow, your head draped on his shoulder as his hand rubs comforting circles on yours, and the silence only filled with the voices coming from the TV isn’t awkward in the presence of you two. Why would it be? He’s with you, his little sweet thing. And that’s all he wants right now.
So, after all the fidgeting with your thumbs and the occasion glances at him (which he noticed, of course), it was apparent that you’d soon ask him something out of the blue. What he hadn’t expected, though, was that question.
“Pfft, that’s random,” he scoffs at the sudden question, and more subtle chuckles resort from the bashful turn of your head. God, you were so cute. “Why ask, sweet thing?”
“I was…just wondering, you know?” Your eyes travel down to your twiddling thumbs, avoiding Toji’s deep, observant emerald gaze. “We’ve been together for this long, and not once have I ever given you a blowjob. And I know, you always say you’re fine with it, but like…I really wanna give you one.”
And that’s when you muster up some confidence to peer up at him meekly, and that’s what seals the deal for Toji. Who is he to deny such puppy dog eyes from his baby?
“Okay then,” he chortles with a smirk, the scar on his right side rooted up. It’s just a blowjob. If not for me, then for them. “Do what you do, cutie.” Little did he know that this would blow his expectations far out.
It started out nice and slow. Toji indulged in your kisses as you snuck your hand into the hem of his drawstring pants, sucking on his tongue while fingers crept inside his boxer briefs to give his cock a rub. He groans into your mouth, liking how you’re setting the mood until you take your lips away from his and slide off the couch to be between his legs. Removing his underwear to the floor, you examine his half-soft dick before using your hands to wrap around the base, massaging around it while you take the tip in your mouth. Toji sighs in bliss at the feeling of your soft licks and rolls of your tongue, shifting around to get more comfortable on the couch.
His erection becomes less and less flaccid, hardening around your mouth. This is where you decide to take in more of his length, hallowing your cheeks as you push your puffy lips down halfway down his erection. By the time you reach this base, your throat is so full of Toji’s girth that you use his sweatpants as reins for your hands as you try to give yourself a few seconds to adjust to the limb occupying your throat. You continue to suck on his cock, bobbing up and down with your saliva coating him, your tongue moving around on the underside of his dick every time you suck up to the tippy top.
The sucks and strokes to his length become a little faster, and it’s here that Toji can’t concentrate on the television. Subtle twitches of his leg result from the hummed moan you express while taking him to the hilt. The vibrations that resonate along the inner walls of your throat are felt. It feels so good. And the tongue of yours? Fuck. His brows trench down when your tongue licks from the bottom of his ridge to the frenulum, giving his cockhead an onslaught of rough licks and kisses that has Toji exhale through his nose. “Hmmnn, fuck…Y/n, baby, y’re so good at this…Uhghh!”
You release his tip with a soft ‘plop’ with a string of saliva connecting your lips to his spit-covered cock. “Ahahhn, really?” Oh, fucking shit, don’t look at him like that. Your hooded eyes peering up at him with a soft smile while your hands maintain a stroking rhythm that has Toji squirm around your grasp. And then you surprise him with a grasp of his ballsack, oh you’re a devilish cutie. “That makes me happy to know,” you give him a giggle when Toji involuntarily bucks to your hands; the veiny limb contrasting with your pretty fingers is such a sight to see. The pulsating commotion between your legs progresses more by the second.
More dangerous licks paired with the massage to his balls as Toji huff is bliss. “Ahhh, sh–shit…Ya like how my dick tastes, mama?”
Taking his cock back into your mouth with alluringly half-lidded eyes is the answer you give him, your lips covering your teeth as your jaw relaxes to welcome his neither limb back inside your warm oral cavity. The suction of your hallow cheeks became lethal with the increased speed, your tongue now swirling around him and creating such deviant noises that only Toji focuses on despite the television vices failing to drown them out.
Holy shit, Toji wasn’t expecting this kind of treatment at all. This was downright out of the water from all the other oral ordeals he’s had in his life. How the fuck were you so good at this!? Cupping his balls while slurping his dick was such a dangerous combo; Toji doesn’t know how long he’ll contain the urge to stand and fuck your face here and now. Goddamn, the faster you bob your lips on him, the shiver down his spine is hard to ignore. His hips jerking to your mouth; he wants to fuck your face so bad. And just looking at your ass sway while you suck on him, he knows you’re enjoying this as well.
It reaches a point where he can’t take it anymore — he wants to go faster and harder. So Toji grabs your head as he stands up and dials the tempo to a harsher motion, propelling your lips down to his pelvis. And you’re quick not to panic, being sure to breathe when Toji smacks his testicles to your chin and ruts into your face and throat with no mercy. Toji moans at the sensation of your gummy walls wrapping around his length, hissing at your muffled wails as he hits the back of your throat. “Fsshhh—Hnngh!! Fuckin’ shit, just like that, mama, just like that…Ohhggh!”
You can feel the veins on his girth pulsate, indicating that his release is soon coming. The thrusts to your face get erratically faster, so you’re sure to grab onto his sweatpants to make sure you don’t lose balance as he spills his load down your throat. Ending it with a few rough hits to your lips, Toji groans with gritted teeth, shaky, strong legs pumping his semen for you to drink, which you merrily take with muzzled squeals on his shaft. The both of you experience the last moment of this euphoric high until Toji’s body calms down, heavy breaths going slower with every expel. He gives you a few moments to suck him off a little more before removing himself from you, gradually pulling his length, quivering with the aftershocks at the dismissal of your warm walls around him. And he jolts when you tease him with one last lick to the sensitive tip.
“Hahhh, damn, cutie,” Toji takes a seat back on the couch, eyeing you down with a weary smirk and furrowed brows. “Since when did ya like to get down and dirty?”
You sheepishly smile back and avert your eyes down, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. “I’m glad you liked it, Toji.”
“Sure as hell did,” he bends down to grab your chin and bring you in for a kiss. The squeaks you let out when he bites your lips are too adorable and hot to his ears. “Want me to eat you out, sweet thing?”
“Really?” God, you were too cute — beaming at him like that with such a lovely smile.
“Sure thing. Besides, I saw the way you were movin' that ass while suckin’ me off. So, I got you,” Toji takes off his sweatpants, moving his legs to be on the couch entirely. His dick is still standing erect, and he gives you a suggestive grin before tapping his chest, a sign for you to get ready and sit on him. “Only if ya can do that shit on me again.” The request takes you aback for a minute, but you chuckle and stand up. You remove your bottoms and underwear, and Toji notices the wet spot on the material.
Again, Toji is never one to be given oral. But if he’s going to be treated like this, you might be able to change his mind.

Hi hi hii! I hope all is well with you :3 I really enjoy your Boothill fics, they bring me so much joy! If it's possible, could I request something?
I've had this idea in my mind about mechanic!reader overworking themselves, not eating, sleeping, or hydrating as they should be as they can forget to tend to their own needs at times...(sadly you can't solely sustain yourself on candy and sugar)
Then Boothill comes to visit them and finds mechanic!reader in an exhausted state, basically forcing them to eat actual food and rest up.
a/n: 1.8k w.count - cw!!: mentions of being awake a long time and not eating!!
boothill just finished up two different jobs he was on, one solo and another pitching in to help a pal that was conveniently in the area. after such hard and capable work, he figures he's owed a quick pass by your shop. that, and something in the back of his head was nagging at him to swing by- and it wasn't because of his neuro-chip.
stepping through the shop's entrance, the door pushes open and the bell above the door chimes. before he can open his jaw and call out to you, searching you out in the premise, he instead starts yelling in shocked noises.
from above, a small mass of something emerges from the shadows of the ceiling. the exposed pipes that line the walls are the perfect place for something small, like critters or rodents, to trek and hide on.
the cowboy half expected a racoon or something to land on his head. what he didn't expect was the feeling of metal bashing into his face instead of a mass of fur and talons.
"son of a-!" he almost fully curses. taking two steps back in lieu of the 'attack', he raises his hand and grabs the metal clinging onto his face and hair. "get offa' me!" he hisses.
the sound of familiar beeps has him using his grip a bit more carefully. working on cooling down his insides that had been fired up into a friendzy, boothill successfully pulls ore off of his face to look at him properly.
"the hell do you think you're doin', eh lil fella?" the little assistant robot that usually stuck to you like glue flails in the air as boothill holds him between his finger and thumb by the sides of his rectangular head.
the expression the robot has on its face was accompanied by it's flinging arms and legs: [>﹏<]!!
"ey, ey, ey, lil dude, chill out."
boothill marches to the desk that acts less like a reception desk and more like a display counter. setting ore down, its flailing stops but the squeezed expression stays put. the cyborg bend at the waist, laying one of his arms over the counter to get- more or less- eyelevel with the little helper with the other going to his hip.
"okay, what's the problem. where's your fixer?" boothill asks. its a joke between the two of you that you act more like ore's guardian than owner. so, in regard to your identity, to ore you became his 'fixer'. ore points one of its metal coated arms behind him and one of its legs stomps. "in that back?" ore nods. "alright, let's go check on 'em shall we?"
ore, instead of taking a ride on boothill's shoulder or being carried in his palm, hops from the counter and rushes around through the doorways that you always keep propped open during shop hours. boothill struts his way through the shop, leisurely following the fella.
as he makes his way through the shop, boothill finally notes the lack of noise he's so used to hearing. no knocking on metal, or drilling of tools. no hint of work, not even your murmuring echoed through the building. it was just quiet.
well now he's just starting to worry.
adding a half-step to his stride, boothill follows the beeping provided from ore and finds himself coming through the cracked doors of your far back work room.
ore is already up on your desk thanks to your installation of small metal-sheeted pullies you made for it. its standing by your head that rests on your arms, folded over your desktop. both of its arms push against your skull, fretting in digital sounds.
walking in, boothill makes his way to your back, placing a gentle touch to the space between your shoulders. his free hand pushes against your desktop, leaning over to try and see if your face was peeking out of your arm pillow situation at all. you were out like a light, but you should be sleeping in bed.
"ey, sugar," boothill softly calls. his hand rubs against your back, rustling your shirt to try gently coaxing you awake. it gets him no where. "hey," he tries again. with a bit of a harsher shake of your shoulder, you bolt upwards. with a gasp from both you and boothill, ore stumbles backward onto its metal backend from the force in which you eject him from your skull. you whip your head back and forth, blinking wearily and rapidly before you finally register boothill's arrival.
"the hell, when did you get here?" your voice is groggy and rushed, and if the ranger hadn't just jostled you awake from your desk, he'd find it pretty cute.
"does it matter? why the hell you sleepin' at your desk? you have a bed."
"what? oh, no, it's fine." you rub your palms into your eyes, blinking back the black splotches it causes when you pull them away. "i just dozed off in the middle of something."
"uh huh." boothill is unconvienced. "you wouldn't be neglectin' your needs just for some work, now would yah?"
"what? no. no, i'm fine. perfectly healthy."
"i didn't ask if you were healthy." you don't offer him anything more and he sighs. shifting his weight, he puts on hand on his hip. "ore," he beckons the robot and it answers with a beep. "when's the last time your fixer here took care of themself?" there's a spinning dial on his digital screened face before a number pops up.
boothill's jaw drops in disbelief.
your jaw drops in betrayal.
you jump from your stool, palms against your worktable while ore's 'face' lights up with exclamation points [!!!!!] before scampering away from your ire.
"are you serious right now?" boothill bites as you look over your shoulder at him. his arms are crossed, and a frown settles on his lips. it's rare you're on the receiving end of a scolding since it's usually you telling him off for being reckless or the like when he comes in for repairs. you kind of hate it to be honest.
"it's fineee," you draw out, huffing as you run your hand over your face. you have a headache, and standing up so quickly didn't help.
boothill clicks his tongue. clearly you were in no mood to listen. it dawns on him that ore's little attack from the entrance was probably him trying to persuade potential clientele away so you could rest. but seeing boothill come through the doors, the robot instead took his arrival as his saving grace.
boothill is a hardened galaxy ranger. but he also happens to be a big softie too.
"have it your way," the cowboy shrugs before pushing you away from your workstation by your shoulder. getting just enough distance between you and your job, he bends at his knees, hooks one of his arms around your side and hoists you up. you find yourself face first against his back with his tattered, red scarf brushing your cheek.
you feel and hear the contraptions and hinges in his body hiss and work to accomodate your weight over his shoulder.
"boothill!" you push your palms against the dip of his back, pushing your body up as much as you can as he starts carting you off.
"ore, be a lil' helper and grab your fixer something to put in their stomach. one of them small shakes or somethin' will do." ore, with its marching orders, obeys and dashes off once again. you almost regret that you programmed ore to obey boothill too.
in truth, boothill would prefer food in your stomach, but ore is about 2 fists tall. a prepackaged supplement from your fridge will have to suffice.
you don't fight him as much as he expected as he marches to your room where he rolls you off his shoulder and onto your mattress. landing with a soft thud, you dont have time to recover before he's throwing a pillow from the floor at your face.
"umph! hey, quit it!" you hiss, pushing the pillow aside. the ranger takes a seat at the foot of your bed as you shuffle to sit up and bring your legs in so he doesn't crush them. his knees are perched apart and his arms crossed. he watches the door, saying nothing, waiting for ore to come in. "are you really upset about this?"
"do i seem happy?" he shoots back.
"you dont need to get lippy with me," you bite as he rolls his eyes.
"i apparently do. not taking care of yourself properly? you can't be doing that, sugar." his scolding tone softens the more he talks. seeing how high strung he is about this, you feel almost guilty. you start picking at the fabric of your shirt.
ore soon brings you in something to consume that's better than nothing at all and helps sooth the post-sleep irritation in your throat. you didn't realize how scratchy it felt until you were forced to.
you're not sure when it happens, but at some point boothill has you laying down properly in your bed with a new change of clothes. and not too much later, you're sleeping before you could even try to fight back.
ore takes the empty container that was once full of your meal substitute and trots off to discard of it. boothill sits at the edge of your bed, where he's been planted the whole time. the cowboy observes you from a lean, his elbows resting on his metal knees.
you're breathing easy, which is good, but he still grimaces at the tiredness gathered under your closed, relaxed eyes. with your face washed of muck and soot, he can see your fatigue clearer.
boothill groans quietly, lowering his head as one of his hands comes to brush the hair off the side of his face and ruffle the strands together, definitely knotting it up. when he brings his hand back down, he winces when some strands pull from his scalp- his whole head is sensitive, so he should've known better.
when it seems like you're down for the count and won't wake up the moment he leaves you alone, boothill stands from your bed. the blanket is rumpled from where he's been sitting, and the impression of his presence is visible to his one good eye. oddly, it's comforting.
lifting his hat, he swings it down off his head and sets it gently on your bed side table that's littered with all sorts of odd and ends. along with a barely working alarm clock that has one of the digital numbers flickering in and out. you'll have to rewire that soon. he leaves it with you as he dismisses himself to let you rest.
beyond your bedroom, ore beeps and bops with noises as boothill sits at the reception desk. his legs crossed at the ankles and propped up on the desk with his arms crossed as he... talks? with ore.
any customer that walks in is met with a mean glare and a harsh 'get out' before he's shooing them out the door.
his nine-mililmeter is only on the desk next to him for some.... extra incentive.
a/n pt.2: i tried incorporating a few of ore's expressions with emoticons. is that lame? too cheesy? who knows. i love that little robot tho. [anyways sorry this rq took so long anon hnnnnng]

Change My Mind [2]
Pairing: BTS x reader
SUMMARY: As a make-up artist, you were expected to glamorize your clients with brushes and products that cost a week-worth of food, not to befriend them outside of work, let alone have them save you from dates yet here you are five years later as one of their closest confidants.
Being a stylist of the world's biggest boyband is no easy feat, someone is doing flips, someone can't stay still and one's asleep but its fine, you can work around their chaos but then one day, you find out they're all your soulmates, a whole different can of chaos you don't think you can handle.

I posted this a day later than the one on ao3 because I forgor :''DD
Seeing the support and comments from both website got me off my ass to fix the storyline, even made a lot of changes on the chapters I've had preserved.
this chapter got rewritten a LOT, and was longer than it initially was so I hope y'all don't mind long chapters.

__________
There's been times where your heart has truly fluttered for a man throughout your lifetime. Too many times has it been because some of your bosses (read: Jimin) flirted with you but you have never felt anything remotely giddy for anyone else outside the group.
Except for the man now sitting in front of you, flashing you a dimpled smile after handing out his card with an ease you only see in your friends and male leads in dramas. An action more attractive than any kabaedon or flexed muscles.
He's attractive but you don't like like him.
Yoo Guwon came to you as a bashful giant, rubbing the back of his head whenever he’s flustered and a constant sheepish smile featuring his deep set of dimples indented on both cheeks. He’s charming and articulate with his words just like a lawyer would be. Everything about him reminds you of another gentle and clumsy giant probably hunched over his music equipment back in the BigHit building.
It’s only been a few hours but you surprisingly covered most of the basic grounds of first meeting conversations during the short time you drove around Han River in a two seated bicycle. From the meager questions of ‘what dreams do you have?’ to the more complex and deeper ‘If the world falls into ruin, will you burn my body when I die?’.
Too graphic for a first date but you wanted to test the waters and you concluded that he’s too perfect.
He knows the right words to say, the proper way to act and it makes you suspicious. Your mother has never recommended you to a good guy before, having a track record of ten shitty suitors who all ran their mouths about their mediocre achievements, and dared to ask you about your purity before ranting about how dirty you are for not saving yourself for your husband the moment they find out you're not a virgin anymore. Then all of a sudden, she led you to good boy Guwon.
And it makes your skin crawl.
What did that woman eat? Has your father fed her something bad this time? What is she planning? It’s scary how she has finally advocated for an actual nice guy.
After taking you to a museum you're sure Namjoon has visited once, he drove you both to the Han River to rent a double seated bike to drive around with before ending the night with a nice reservation somewhere in the Seocho district.
The place is as sophisticated as fine dining areas usually are. With an intimate lighting, marbled tabletops matched with soft cushioned seats and high ceilings to make space for modern glass chandeliers, the restaurant was no doubt expensive, the type you have to reserve a spot two months prior to be able to experience its greatness. The point was driven home when you saw the amount of zeros it cost for one can of soda.
You asked him how he managed to get a table and he went down the rabbit hole of the many advantages he got from successful cases, ranging from a free monthly subscription to fruit baskets to a free week-long voucher to a five star hotel somewhere in Busan.
Going back to the butterflies, while not as wild as it got when Hoseok possessively wrapped an arm thrown around your waist to pretend as your boyfriend to ward off a persistent suitor, they're there, albeit subtle.
Very subtle.
Maybe it's in the way he didn't think twice to hand out his card towards the waiter in the most suave way with the thick golden watch decorating his wrist, sleeves neatly folded up to reveal the thick cords of veins on his forearms with his hair strewn messily and a dimpled smile that made you react like that.
You ignore the voice comparing his uncannily similar traits to someone else.
Meeting Guwon wasn't like how the movies illustrated love at first sights. They talked of fireworks exploding in the background and hearing the sweet chimes of wedding bells upon eye contact but for him, it's just that. A meeting far more formal than you'd like. He has a lot of qualities that check your list of husband material traits yet instead of butterflies, you could only feel an echoing hollowness in your chest as you listen to him list out his future plans.
It felt like surrendering to the fate the divinities had weaved out for you which is being an untethered forced to love someone you don't even feel any spark with.
He's a nice man who’s offering a comfortable future and you're just a woman who wishes to live a lavish life at home while your husband wastes his years away in the office. You might be a hopeless romantic who wished for soulmates and the like but you're not blind to the opportunity Guwon offers you.
You haven't texted the gc anything during the date other than the selfie you took before you left for the date but there's been constant vibrations in your purse and it's no doubt the guys asking for updates but for a moment you wanted to try to focus on the man before you.
Not that it wasn't hard to try with Guwon anyways.
Whenever the man spoke of his achievements and hobbies with a humble approach, he never forgot to ask you for your opinion or input on the topic. You also noted how he has never cut you off and let you speak whenever you wanted, listening with an eagerness only your friends usually show. He asked relevant questions with a genuine curiosity, eager to know more about you.
So when he asked if you wanted to go on a second date that night, it came to no surprise for anyone when you accepted it albeit the heaviness in your heart.
It was funny how eagerly you searched for a husband you could bring to your parents' doorsteps but the moment someone with all the qualities you seeked came, it felt disappointing. Boring even.
But you can learn, this man is your ticket to living without working anymore.
It came to no one's surprise that your mother was overjoyed, she wasted no time calling you before you could even change to squeeze the memory of today out of you.
The shrill scream of victory she let out that night was unforgettable because finally, a suitor you actually liked. Your dad even congratulated her off-screen for her matchmaking achievements before telling you to bring Guwon home to meet them.
Logically, you’re aware you've won the love roulette—Guwon has it all, he checked every box on your list, yet it felt like defeat and it tasted foul, bitter on your tongue.
You couldn't tell them that it was you deciding to settle, that would break her heart.
Tapping the end call button felt like the dam breaking and all the water held onto for so long flowed out. You fall lifelessly on your bed with a heavy sigh. Taking a couple evening breaths, you finally opened the group chat with an overwhelming number of unread messages.
[08:49] Mimi: I'd run my bank dry to take you on dates if you'd dress so pretty like that, noona~
[08:49]Tete: We're really seeing this for free when the poor guy has to pay for it. #livingapriviledgedlife😁👍
[08:49] Hobi: Wow noona🤯
[08:50] Yoongs: 👍
[08:55] Tete: Wait, I don't think those shoes fit you, go back home and change it😁
[08:56] Jinnie: Hey, you're showing too much skin on the first date! Go back and change!
[08:57] Joonie: Ignore these haters noona, I hope you enjoy your day😊
[Today, 21:48]
[21:48] Jinnie: are you home yet? You haven't seen our messages in HOURS.
[21:48] Tete: NOONA DID YOU GET MURDERED?!😱
[21:50] Joonie: Let's be rational guys, don't jump to conclusions. The date might just be going great if she's busy enough to not check her phone😊.
[21:51] Mimi: doing great? don't scare me like that hyung😵💫
[21:51] Tete: BUT WHAT IF SHE GOT KIDNAPPED HYUNG????
[21:51] Hobi: please reply soon, we're worried🥲
Jungkook's absence from the conversation didn't come to you as a shock, the kid doesn't even reply to you for a week despite being one of the people who raised him. Nonetheless, you sat up from your bed to record a quick video of you giving them a thumbs up and turning the camera to show your room.
The latter was an assurance to Taehyung that no, you also didn't get kidnapped into someone else's house to be someone's housekeeper, and no, it wasn't a clone either.
The moment your message gets sent, the replies blow up your phone almost instantaneously.
[22:28] Mimi: noona you're alive!
[22:28] Joonie: How did the date go?😊
[22:28] Jinnie: how nice of you to remember to update us PEASANTS.
[22:28] Mimi: How was Guwon?
[22:29] Tete: I KNEW WE SHOULD'VE WENT WITH YOU ANYWAYS
[22:29] You: Shockingly, he's a pretty nice guy. Not too bad on the eyes, and pretty smart. I think you'd get along well with him, joon. He's a lawyer so he covered most of the expenses today😁
[22:29] You: Overall, it was great, we're gonna go on a second one. He's pretty cool.
Instantly, messages from the members, even Jungkook’s to your surprise, flooded your screen.
[22:30] Tete: Noona you've been cursed! We need to bring you to the nearest shaman to break it!!
[22:30] Mimi: don't joke with us noona
[22:30] Mimi: I just got goosebumps!
[22:30] Joonie: Congratulations are in order then? Will we be expecting him around you soon?
[22:31] Yoongs: I need to meet him, need to know if he's good enough
[22:31] Yoongs: men are trash, I need to see him for myself before I decide
[22:32] Yoongs: and you know what they say about lawyers, they LIE. I wouldn't trust him
[22:32] Jinnie: WE need to meet the man who managed to steal your heart! I want to talk to him😊
[22:32] Mimi: don't use that emoji again, hyung
[22:32] Hobi: SCARY JWANN😱
[22:32] Joonie: Let’s not threaten anyone please.
[22:32] Joonie: But I'm really happy for you 😁.
[22:33] Tete: Those periods really scares me hyung…
[22:33] Tete: Somehow, I don't think you mean it…
[22:33] Joonie: What makes you think that, tae?😁.
[22:33] Tete: 😰
[22:34] Ggukie: a few drinks will fix you up, noona😁
[22:34] Mimi: you'll invite me this time right?
[22:34] You: I don't know, you already used your mischief hours this week, I doubt Sejin would be so kind next time.
[22:34] Hobi: if he does that right now during practice, I also wouldn't be so kind to him😊
[22:34] Mimi: you are scaring me hyung…
[22:34] Hobi: good😊
[22:34] Tete: Hyung, are you just gonna ignore Jungkook leaving?!?!!?
The messages continued for a good five minutes, mostly consisting of holding Jimin back from leaving practice and him sending pictures of the infamous Hoseok death glare from across the room before your doorbell chime rang, making you shoot up straight.
A beat. Then it continues in three quick successions, the knocks almost in sing-song and sounded like two hands were used to produce the tune, giving you an inkling on who might be visiting you at this late hours of night.
Padding out of your room, the front door suddenly swings open without warning and you yelp. By the doorsteps stands the intruder, a tall man in a black coat with his face hidden by a mask and a cap. Your body would've frozen a thousand times over if you didn't know this stranger who's hugging two paper bags, one overflowing with snacks and the other a breeze away from tearing apart from the weight and water drenching the material of the bag.
"Hi noona!"
After today, seeing Jungkook felt like a cure, his presence alone repelling the heaviness in your shoulders and you ushered him inside and he wandered into your home with ease, approaching the coffee table to place down the shopping bags.
Suddenly you remembered what he had scheduled prior.
"You're putting me on Hoba’s punishment rotation, what are you doing here?"
He giggled. “We both know he won't, hyung loves you more than me.”
He falls on your couch with the ease of someone who has visited your space numerous times throughout the years, propping up his feet on the back support and folding his arms underneath his head before staring up at you, expectantly.
"Anyways, I brought us food and drinks, don't I deserve a little praise?"
Sometimes it's easy to forget how young Jungkook really is, forced to grow and act mature to blend in with his surroundings, you've always seen him stand with pride alongside his hyungs. Seeing him awaiting for your praise so eagerly like a pup fills your heart with awe.
"Yeah yeah, good job. Now move over, let me sit down."
You tapped his arm, motioning him to move over so you could sit next to him, something he obeyed without resistance, busying himself in removing the contents from the soiled paper bag instead.
“Couldn't you have put some effort into it? At least sound grateful.” He pouts. Placing down the cluster of beer cans, you turned to him and pinched his cheeks.
“Oh my dearest darling, thank you for saving this noona of yours. Such an amazing baby I have here.”
Despite being the one who asked for it, Jungkook only rolled his eyes with a barely held back grin as he slapped your hands away, making you laugh, and turned to the bag holding the snacks he bought. You didn't miss the redness dusting his cheeks or the cheeky grin that tugged his lips wide as he spilled the contents of the last bag onto the table.
There's a significant amount of sweets and snacks laid before you, as well as stacks of canned beers and you turned to him with furrowed brows.
"Wouldn't this ruin your diet?"
He waved you off with a huff. "I work out enough to eat all of these in one sitting."
Instantly, your mind brings you back to white walls and gray furniture, faced with manager Sejin who warned you about interfering with the idols' diet at the start of your career. If it wasn't for Bang PD waving off their concerns, saying they needed to be rewarded for their hard work anyways, you would've been long booted out of the company.
It's a matter long settled yet it remains to weigh heavily in your head.
Seeing the hesitation in your eyes, Jungkook continues.
"I can show you proof of my efforts,"
He then reached down to the fabric of his shirt tucked into his jeans and tugged it up, flashing you the tightly corded muscles in forming on his abdomen and the thin happy trail you often see when patting his sweat down during concerts and you hastily pulled it back down with a yelp, cheeks growing hot while he laughed.
As he throws his head back in his mirth, you couldn't help but notice the way adulthood has taken away the fullness of his cheeks and has sharpened his features. A far cry from the sensitive young boy who cried his eyes out every time his hyungs got hurt.
There was no denying that Jungkook had grown without you noticing and it makes your chest swell with pride knowing he's been raised well by the others, in extension, although not so much, you as well.
"Don't worry so much about me, noona. I can handle the consequences now, you leave the reprimanding to me."
Under the warm overhead light of your living room, even with the exaggerated puff of his chest and his nose turnt up high, Jungkook's shoulder had never looked sturdier, reliable, in your eyes. You smiled, reaching to pinch both his cheeks making him grin wider than he already was.
"Look at you acting so cool, when did you grow so much?"
He rolled his eyes, pulling your hands away from his cheeks and entangling it with his. “I've always been cool, you just don't pay attention to me, noona.”
Before you could reply, he's already moved to reach for the beverages on the coffee table, popping two of them open and handing you one can, immediately you take a swig.
The beer fizzled in your tongue and left a trail of burns down your throat. The sensation is refreshing nonetheless and you place it down next to him before picking up the large bags of chips and standing up.
"I'll go put these in a bowl, go put something on the tv."
"Can I play anime?"
You waved at him dismissively, unable to find it in yourself to say no to him as you head towards your kitchen to transfer the junk into a bowl when a shrill tune from your bedroom cuts through the air, someone was calling you. You look over to Jungkook, scrolling through his phone, no doubt looking for a movie online.
"Gguk, can you pick up the call for me? My hands are busy right now."
There's a shuffle of feet behind you and in a moment, your phone quietens down. Finished with filling one bowl, you turn to find Jungkook leaving your room with a deep look and your phone in hand. His jaw set tight as he stood there with furrowed brows, eyes lit with irritation.
Looking at his reaction, you asked about your mysterious caller.
"Who was it?"
When he turned to you, the tick in his jaw dispersed. All of a sudden, he's smiling at you with mischief twinkling in his eyes, the change giving you a whiplash.
"It was the others, didn’t answer their calls cause I want you for myself tonight, noona."
(Later on, you'd find yourself staring at the many unread messages and two missed calls from Guwon, wondering in your drunken state if you've muted your phone at some point earlier.)
Hearing it from his lips now, your body locks, heart stuttering in your chest and butterflies exploding in your stomach, spreading a tingly feeling throughout your body and you laugh.
"Where did you hear that line from, brat? You just activated my fight or flight!"
"Taehyung says that and gets thanked but when I do it, I'm punished?" He pouts, stomping as he approaches the island counters and crossing his arms on the marble surface.
It reminded you of a bunny you saw from a video on the internet, angrily thumping their feet at their owner when it was being purposely ignored.
“In his defense, he does it while he’s acting like my crazy ‘exes’ and saves me from dates.”
“That’s just favoritism! I saved you once from a date!”
You threw him a deadpan stare. "Throwing me over your shoulders and kidnapping me isn’t the same as Tae and Jimin acting crazy enough to make the other guy uncomfortable to save me.”
Hoseok had your favorite troublemakers kneeled on the floor with both their hands up and facing the wall at the time, punishing them for being an hour late to their practice. He had called you in, asking if they had been accompanying you during —they weren’t.
Long story short, you didn't risk sharing Hoseok’s wrath with the two and took Jungkook instead, a decision you quickly regretted later on in the night when instead of approaching to act like one of your exes when you gave him a signal, he hoisted you up onto his shoulder and ran away while your date only watched in terror.
“Now that’s blatant favoritism! I didn’t kidnap you, we ran away together into the sunset! It was romantic!"
"Not for the other guy, no! He was shitting bricks when he called my mom. She got me squatting the entire afternoon when we met again."
Mentioning it alone made phantom pains throb in your knees and thighs, you shivered. If torture wasn't a socially unacceptable and punishable offense in the modern world, you were sure your mother would have stripped you down to your underwear and made you squat under the sun in front of your family house instead.
The absolute fury she unleashed on you that day is enough proof that she would've done it with no hesitation if it was lawfully appropriate.
"That's too much for a failed date."
"No reason to dwell on it. Main point is, don't take notes from dramas anymore."
With a last roll of his eye, Jungkook then picked up the bowls and brought them to the coffee table following you who had returned to your seat ahead of him. Once the two of you are situated back on the couch, he navigates through the streaming app for an interesting title before eventually settling on the romance anime he claimed to have heard amazing reviews about.
Without hesitation, Jungkook navigates himself into a familiar between your legs and leaned back on your chest, head finding his rightful space under your chin with a precision gained from doing so for years.
It goes without saying that Bangtan is affectionate. With the pressure they had during their rise to fame, it wasn't shocking that they comfortably seeked each other's comfort and spared no skinship. As one of the only staff within constant exposure that's close to their age, you too became one of their pillars of serenity.
It was the reason you had crushes on everyone at least twice during your time as their make-up artist, not that any of the boys knew nor does it matter.
Stability and work takes precedence over something as shaky as love.
There's only so much comfort another man can offer, your mother says from years before.
Jungkook more than anyone else in the group.
As a boy who sacrificed his childhood and time with his parents to pursue his dream, you felt more inclined to watch over him than the others who were adults by the time you joined. You were there for his first heartbreak, his first drink, his high school graduation; the point is, you were there and you held him every time he struggled with problems—mostly girl problems—he's too shy to seek his hyungs for.
But now with his growth spurt, cuddling up to you like he used to when he was younger with his gangly legs awkwardly hanging from the couch, carelessly leaning his head in between the mounds of your breast while his large hand mindlessly drew circles on your knee, you found yourself wondering about the appropriateness of it all.
A man and a woman alone in a room at night in close proximity, body leaning against each other. Society would argue they wouldn’t end the night as friends anymore after the encounter.
You paused mid-drink and grimaced.
It must be the beer talking.
"Noona."
"Yeah?"
"Wrap your arms around me, it's cold."
You raised an eyebrow at him. "It's not though? I always keep my house warm."
He let out an exasperated groan before reaching behind to grab your arm and roughly slinging it on his shoulders.
As time continued its cycle and episodes started to fly across the screen, the pile of opened beer cans on the table expanded. You really tried to focus on the movie but the feeling of his fingers tracing stars on your bare thigh left you oddly bothered. Jungkook has shifted his position higher at some point during the movie, his body now turned sideways, successfully squeezing himself into the small space between you and the back of the couch, legs entangling itself with yours while an arm is thrown across your body.
This position puts his nose closer to your ears and it makes you shiver. The feel of his hot breath fanning across your skin has given you more goosebumps in under an hour more than you've had throughout your life.
Even drunk, you could feel the building tension thickening around you and the will to tell him to off ebbs away with every caress of his fingers.
Gone were the innocent traces of stars and hearts on your thigh, his hand now grabbed onto your waist almost possessively, thumb rolling slow circles on your bare stomach; the motion conjuring the most unholiest of thoughts known to mankind.
When the credits started rolling, you knew you had to draw the line before you lost yourself to intoxicated thoughts and end the night with regrets.
"Time for you to go home now, your hyungs must be looking for you."
You tried prying his hand from your waist so you could reach for your phone on the table only for him to tighten around you, stopping you from moving away. He groaned, head nuzzling closer into your neck and his lips grazed your skin.
Instantly, electric jolts shoot through your body.
"Jungkook, I need to get my phone and tell someone to fetch you from here."
"Can't I just stay the night? I'm too comfortable right now…"
The gruff in his voice and the sensation of his lips moving on your skin has your stomach fluttering and you're too drunk to address the growing heat in your abdomen but thanked the sense of professionalism seeping through the fogs of your intoxicated mind.
Managing to pry him off, you reached for your phone and opened up SMS to tell Jin to pick their youngest up.
[01:21] You: Jwannn
[01:21] You: can you pick up your kid from my house? He's drunk and stinkyyy
[01:23] Jinnie: your knight in shining armor is on the way!
“Just let me stay the nighttt,” he whined into your skin.
"I don't have any more spare beds other than this couch for you to sleep in, Gguk. I turned the other room into a closet, remember?"
"I can just sleep with you on the bed, we used to do that, didn't we?"
He attempted to reach around you again but you pushed his limbs away once more before slapping his arm.
You tried not noticing how thicker and harder the muscles felt, you really did.
"But it's different now, Gguk. Come on, go wash up and drink water, I've already told someo—"
The moment you rose to stand, his arms shot around your waist in record speed and pulled you flush to his front, nuzzling his nose on the back of your neck before he sighed. When the first hot exhale hits your skin, you flinch away but the limbs wounded tightly around your middle restrict you from moving.
You try to ignore the heat simmering under your skin but it was hard when you felt the press of his plush lips on your nape as he leans closer into your skin.
“You always smell so nice, noona.” He whispered breathily, the sensation of his moving mouth sending shivers down your spine and you shivered.
“I-I can give you my lotion brand later, let me go so I can get it.”
“But I'm comfortable here…”
Mustering every strength left in your body, you manage to pull an arm out of the death grip he had on your body and slapped his hand. Jungkook easily ignores it.
“Come on Gguk, let me out now. This isn't appropriate.”
"How is it different now?"
The alcohol intoxicating your system loosened your grip on your inhibitions and your lips regrettably moved faster than your brain.
"You're a man now, Gguk. Honestly, we shouldn't be even doing this right now. It's inappropriate."
You try to stand once more, managing to pry him from your waist and standing up before his arms hooked around you once more and tugging you back down, this time on his lap as he burrows his head onto your back.
"Gguk?"
"Yo-you see me as a man, noona?"
As a child your mother has taught you how words could heavily influence and drastically change a situation, now as an adult, you've mastered the art of speech. But as you sit still on his thighs, body warm and inhibitions blurred by the alcohol, your loose lips have led you back to the very thing you try to avoid.
"It's hard not to think so when you've grown up this much."
In a flash, Jungkook is now hovering over your face as he places you back down on the couch, his nose a hair's width from touching yours and his hands planted on each side of your head.
There's a feral hunger swimming in his eyes as it stared into yours, desperate and intense before it fell to the plush of your parted lips and his gaze darkens. All of a sudden, you're a prey pinned down by an apex predator who's ready to devour you at any given moment.
Fire alarms blared in your mind and you regained control over your senses.
“Jungkook.”
"Noona."
You tried wriggling out of his grasp but it was no use, he's stronger. "Get off of me, kid."
“How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not a kid anymore?”
“I'm not hearing anything out when you're acting like this, Gguk.”
He scoffed. “I just want to sleep here, in the same bed, nothing else is gonna happen. Why is it such a bad thing?”
“It's different now, Gguk. Come on, let me go.”
“How is it so different? You and Jimin hyung cuddle sometimes, I've seen you fall asleep next to Hobi hyung once, why is it different with me?”
“It's different because we're both drunk and things could happen.”
“I wouldn't mind it.” Jungkook responds with a cheeky smile. His grip on one of your wrist loosened enough that you were able to hit his arm and he giggled in response.
“But I do. It wouldn't be fair.”
Even something as small as letting one member stay at your home without the others can be the loudest announcement for the rest of the group. All those times you've rejected your friends, with reasons like ‘I don’t want to risk everything’, and ‘I don't want to hurt the others’, to turn back around to accept their youngest would be hypocritical of you.
He scoffs. "You tell us about all your stupid dates, don't you think it's more unfair for us?”
A familiar weight grows in your chest. Guilt tasted like rust on your tongue and dug into your heart with a ribbed knife. Your own late night thoughts manifesting before you and you pushed him away.
After everything, you were all friends, you trusted them more than you do with your other circle. There's not a secret left undiscussed between the eight of you so it was no surprise that you had indulged them with the details of your quest for a husband. Nobody ever raised any complaints with you sharing your days so you never thought twice about it.
It's been five years since Jin had confessed, three for Taehyung. Their eldest had confessed for the sake of him finally being able to move on after your rejection and with how he acted after, you had believed him. It was different for Taehyung who had continued to act like normal after his confession, neither dejected nor did he show signs of letting go but he did introduce a date to your group once, a year later, so you had assumed the same.
Were you wrong after all?
“Jungkook, we're drunk. Let’s talk about this tom—”
“I've never been more sober in my life than I am right now, noona.”
You didn't respond, couldn't reply.
What were you supposed to even say?
Jungkook usually obeyed you and his hyungs without hesitation, happily offering his aid whenever he could. He's the type of friend who's run himself dry just to fetch you a cup of water from the other side of the world but now as he hovers over you, he became a whole new person.
Greed has always been an irritating parasite that eats away at a person's morals but somehow in your drunken mind, you thought it looked so good on him. It fits him and his generous character the way one light clothing molds well with the dark fabrics. His familiar scent of vanilla and coconut clouded your senses, calming your panicking mind into a hush, leaving nothing but the thoughts of how his lips tasted and wondering if he’s as sweet as he smelled.
He let out a shaky exhale from through his mouth as he watched your parted lips with a rapt attention as if hypnotized by the way they subtly trembled with every breath that passed through.
In the pregnant silence of your room, his voice cuts through like a knife.
“Can I kiss you?”
He whispers against your lips, voice breaking in the middle from the weight of his request, honeyed and pleading, as if your kiss holds the answer to the problems of the world and holds the power to break him.
His hand travels up to cup your cheek oh so carefully like you're fragile china yet you feel yourself shatter under his touch.
You are losing grasp on your sober thoughts as lust starts to cloud your already compromised judgment, his request far too tempting to ignore.
Maybe a kiss wouldn’t hurt.
But wouldn’t it be unfair for the others who have expressed their romantic intentions to you since years ago?
It was a last ditch effort to reason with your mind and your body froze from the cold wave of realization. In the short time after his question, you recall the confessions you turned down to not ruin the relationship Bangtan has established for themselves and the bitter taste it left on your tongue.
“Jungkook… we can’t.”
Watching his expression contort into confused hurt almost made you want to take your words back, but your mind takes you to memories of apologetic and understanding smiles you’ve received throughout the years and the aches from those moments resurfaces, squeezing your heart in a tight grip.
“I-I’m sorry I can’t control my feelings, I just wanted to tell you about it… Thought that maybe after this, I could move on.” An apologetic voice whispers, the memory of premature confessions in the middle of a cleanup resurfacing.
“I can’t—I can’t do it to them, it’d be unfair.”
You pushed him back and he relented, letting himself be sat back onto the other side of the couch defeatedly. Despite it, his tight grip on your waist remained, pulling you flush to him and burying his face in your chest as if trying to hear the lie in your words through the beatings of your heart.
“I’m also seeing Guwon now.”
“Then don’t let me meet him. I-I don’t know if I can take it.”
It was heart wrenching and at the same time, left an uncomfortable twist in your stomach. Jungkook never had to beg since you first met him, everything he could ever want was given to him by you and his hyungs without hesitation. Hearing him plead for you to never bring Guwon around if fate had actually paired you both, it was a different kind of pain.
It felt like thorns growing and rooting its stems of pointy ends into the deepest parts of your heart. You hated this, but you don’t want to hurt any of your boys by accepting one.
Relief comes in the form of Taehyung when he busted into your apartment while Jungkook has excused himself to your bathroom to sober up just a moment before. Seokjin trails behind him, calmer than the younger man who declared his arrival with a deep voice and a loud bang of the door. You immediately thought of the elderly couple and the new family of three living next to you and internally facepalmed.
“Noona! We’ve come to take Jungkook away!”
Kim Seokjin’s face has never been more handsome when he closed the door behind him, and you verbalized your thought, leading his ears to glow red in embarrassment.
“Am I only handsome to you when I’m closing the doors?! This face that people fawn over all over the world?!”
“It’s your true calling, door guy.”
“Oh shut it hyung, you’re making my head hurt.” Jungkook mutters as he reentered the living room, looking far better than when he left.
The tension was palpable, the effect of a rejected profession still raw and thick in the small joined space of the living room and kitchen and you caught Jin's eyes as the two youngest bickered, there’s a knowing look passed between you, an unsaid ‘let’s talk later’ hanging in the air.
“Hey, just because you got to escape Hoba’s practice without scratch doesn't mean you're hot shit, show me some respect!”
Seokjin scolds, accompanied by a playful kick to their youngest’s butt. Immediately the stuffy air dissipates and Jungkook responds in kind; by kicking him in the shin, hard enough to launch Seokjin into another lengthy nag.
It was a quick retrieval after his rant. Jungkook lets himself be towed out of your apartment by an oddly enthusiastic Taehyung who's going on about a new game trailer he saw online while Jin has offered to be left behind to clean up the mess. It was no doubt obvious, the familiar awkwardness and tenseness brought by a rejected confession lingered in the air when they arrived, it only took him one look at you and he already knew.
The moment the door slams shut behind the boys, he immediately began:
“Did he admit it?”
His voice was soft yet it rang loudly in the pindrop silence of your living room. The sigh he let out echoed more when you nodded.
“I told him to not do it, you know? But you know how stubborn he gets.”
You didn’t reply. You simply move, walking to the trash bin to put the empty beer cans in and Jin follows close with the bowls stacked on top of each other to place in the sink. It was a brief moment of reprieve. He let the moment from earlier simmer in your stomach, let the smoke from it fill your lungs and weigh your heart till you burst.
Out of the seven boys, you've always turned to either him or Yoongi as they're older than you, so it came to nobody's shock when you break and told him.
“It just never gets better, I always feel guilty even if I didn’t choose. I’m just lucky I didn’t have to suffer through seven of these, I don’t think I could take it and just quit.”
It was a thought you’ve entertained when Taehyung came to you with his heart in his hand, giving it to you carelessly despite knowing how you’ve handled the other confessions. He was all dopey smiles and flushed cheeks, it continued even when you’ve pushed his heart back to him with an apologetic look.
Seeing the happy creases in his eyes iron out despite the huge boxy smile continuing to play on his lips, the existing pressuring guilt reawakened. Taehyung’s heart that gleamed and glowed gold, vulnerable for you to take and use from where it settled in the middle of his offering palms. You could’ve taken advantage of it all as they were rising in fame, when they were facing discrimination from the other companies and had found comfort in you but you didn’t.
Even with the attraction you've felt for them, you were nothing but a makeup artist to the company. Another asset to deploy and replace if it got annoying to handle. You couldn't risk your career on uncertainties, this is your dream job.
You loved them all equally and held them in the same regards as the others, they’re your best friends, chosen soul companions even without the marks to solidify it.
They loved you and you loved them all but you wouldn't bet your life on an uncertain future.
“You should give us more credit, you know?”
He says from the kitchen sink, the sound of water slowing into a halt. Seokjin didn’t move for a while. When he did, it was to place down the plates, washing his hands before turning around to face you.
“We’re grown adults now, we can handle rejection so don’t feel too bad about it. You can choose and we’d even help you keep it a secret from everyone besides us eight.”
It was genuine. Even in the haze of your intoxication, those words felt like a cool balm for your aching heart. While Namjoon’s words were cited research, formal and factual and Yoongi’s were calming droughts to ease the discomfort of sadness brought by gloomy thoughts, Seokjin speaks from the heart, true and unbiased but says it with a gentleness and care.
Guilt sets like a boulder on your heart. Being able to feel, to experience such a privilege when all you've done is break his heart since your hunt for a husband, the weight in your chest multiplied and tears sprung from your eyes.
You wanted them but you couldn't risk your dream job, couldn't risk a friendship as precious as theirs for kisses and hugs that eventually has its ends.
You didn’t even notice it when he crossed the distance between you both and pulled you plush to his chest but you recognized the familiar sensation of plush lips pressing against your forehead.
If it lingered a few seconds past what's platonically allowed, you didn’t mention it.
Seokjin’s muted scent of freshly baked cakes brought silence to the rampaging waves of thoughts in your mind and if you pressed your nose flush to his chest to bury yourself in his fragrance, he didn’t say anything, bringing one hand behind your head protectively.
“I'm sorry to put you through this pain, Jinnie. I-I didn’t know.”
“I knew you didn’t know but I'll be fine... eventually.” He breathes out before leaning down to bury himself into the nest of your hair. "As long as you're happy, then I am too."
It was heavy, being loved and held so preciously even after you’ve turned him down, it felt cruel, sadistic even. But like the selfish woman you are, you accepted it. Soaked in his affections greedily.
“You know, he asked me to never show Guwon around you guys.”
He sighed. “I knew he would.”
“Do you want that as well?
Silence followed but you heard his answer loud and clear.
The second date happened after the first leg of the tour in Seoul.
Although planned suddenly, you appreciated the downtime after being lost in the haze of rushed outfit changes, reapplying makeup, and patting sweat from foreheads. If anything, you were thankful you could loosen up after earlier. The awkward tension didn’t go amiss, it only took Namjoon and Yoongi one look between you and Jungkook before taking charge on how the night progresses.
Yoongi didn't waste any time waving you over to ask for help for his makeup, even when he was already being prepped by one of your older colleagues, Ji hae. Thankfully, the woman lets you take over, saying she wanted a snack anyways.
The man didn't bother asking you what happened and settled comfortably in his chair but not before offering you the snack he bought earlier and was laying neglected on his lap. Yoongi asked about Guwon in a hushed voice, because while you were living in a reverse harem with most of his brothers, he was genuinely curious about your boyfriend-to-be.
Maybe it was the fact he has never admitted his affections for you that made it comfortable to discuss topics you could never talk about with the others with him, but you let your tongue a little loose.
And he listened.
Yoongi has always been a man of action not words, his love language has always been opening water bottles, blankets appearing from nowhere when you're passed out on their couch, and listening attentively. Despite what the world says about his nonchalance and silence, in your eyes, he's the sweetest guy on the roster—not that you'd tell Jimin that of course, he'd riot if he were to find out.
By the end of the concert, Guwon asks you on an impromptu date. A simple late night walk on a market nearby because there's apparently a food fair, and as usual, the expenses are on him. Hungry with a principle of never turning down free food, of course you accepted.
Though you had a long time deciding whether to go or not with Jungkook’s confession still fresh.
Minutes later, he's waiting for you by the exit. The scene of him leaning on his Mercedes, waiting for you to reach him at the bottom of the stairs looks like it was pulled out of a kdrama.
Oddly enough, they didn’t question your lack of updates in the group chat but Jimin reached out later on and you suspect he told everyone your whereabouts instead, hopefully minus the date part to spare the others (read: Jungkook) from heartbreak.
The fair looked like a mirage of a paradise in the night hidden away in a small gently-lit up alley. The path was lightened up with gentle lanterns hung above you, the warm colors setting a more intimate scene. It wasn’t as luxurious as dinner from yesterday or as calming as the bike ride around the Han river but you appreciated it nonetheless.
You’re ready to drop dead but you pushed through, you wanted this relationship to work. Because then, maybe the monsters—your mother and her wide selection of personalities as well as aunties, her friends, trying to refer you to their horrible sons—haunting you from under your bed will finally leave you alone.
It was cruel that you’re using someone else to erase the memory of being professed to by one of your best friends.
Guwon was happy enough to take charge the whole date, leading you from food stall after food stall, ordering whatever your eyes lingered at which is half of what the fair offers. He understands your lack of responses as it is, tired from work, and talked enough for the both of you. Which you are grateful for.
He talked about his job and what happened that day, willingly telling you about the story of how he and his co-workers clicked back in College, never to part till now in the field they wanted. He spoke of his dreams, how he envisioned his dream home by the province surrounded by nature and the cat named Nabi waiting for him at home.
There's nothing more blatant of a signal than the last part, whether you accept it or not depends on you.
Normally, you would've frowned at the thought, immediately thinking of running away but as the night deepens and stalls start to close, the idea grows more and more tempting despite the logical voice in your head disagreeing. Seeking a distraction and possibly leading on a kind man is cruel, both to him and you.
But at the end of the day, it’s just an escape from the reality you're stuck in, a temporary answer to a long time problem.
How harmful can it be?
People had hookups before, you’ve had hookups before your mother has started a hunt for your husband this year so what are you so reluctant for?
If this man is to be your husband, you should check your physical compatibility right?
You shivered. God, you sounded like one of those shitty guys you’ve dated before.
"Hey, the stalls just closed. Are you fine with me driving you back to your house?"
His voice cuts through your deep thoughts and you turn to him. Even in the dimly lit corner of the alley, Guwon looked attractive as ever with his dimpled smile and laid back attitude, his soft eyes gleaming under the lanterns, affections overflowing from his gaze and you. shuddered from its weight.
Staring at the man, you wondered if you'd ever fall in love with him as he seemed right now.
Soon enough, you both arrive in front of your apartment building. However, not every plan goes through as you thought it'd go and you find two familiar figures rushing down to meet you.
Taehyung didn't hesitate to run up to you with open arms and a wide smile. He didn't even care that you both almost toppled over if it wasn't for Guwon hand supporting you from the back.
"Wh-why are you two here? Shouldn't you guys be resting?"
Jimin shrugged but you caught the mischievous glint in his eyes as a small smile tugs his lips. "Hyung got so worried and wanted us to make sure you got home safely."
"Even a thumbs up would be great but you ignored every text and call! Jin hyung panicked and sent us out, if you didn't come home, he would've had a huge manhunt for you." Taehyung chimed in, pulling away but keeping his hands on your shoulders as he stared deep into your eyes, as if trying to hypnotize you into believing them.
Jimin snickered. “Yoongi hyung was an hour away from declaring you missing so the good dongsaengs we are, we decided to camp outside your apartment.”
You would've accepted his explanation, it was logically sound yet the dark glint of mischief and something else in his eyes as his gaze bounced from you to Guwon told you a different story.
They've always had to interrupt your dates when it becomes sour but this was the first time they've confronted a potential partner outside the intentions of ruining a date because you wanted it to suck.
This was them laying their claim over their own, a silent statement. A declaration you try not to think so much about, fearing you'd dig yourself deep and fall to your death.
“These must be one of your kids?” Guwon asks from behind, reminding you of his presence and you turn to him with an apologetic look.
“Yeah, Taehyung and Jimin. I practically raised them.”
Jimin scoffs and your head snapped to him, widening your eyes in warning to which he ignored. “Just because you’re a year older, doesn’t mean you could say you raised us you know?”
“See what I deal with everyday?”
Guwon laughs lightheartedly before patting your head to get your attention. “Since your kids are here to protect you, I should get going now.”
“Drive safely.”
“See you soon?”
“Definitely.”
Then he placed a haste kiss on the edge of your lips, catching you off guard and you froze. Guwon was already in his car by the time you realized what happened and turned to chastise him. You couldn't even knock on the passenger window when the arms coiled around your shoulders tightened and tugged you close.
Letting Guwon kiss you in front of one of the men who confessed to you once was the first mistake, second was looking up at Taehyung whose hug is starting to hurt.
Gone were the usual giddiness and child-like enthusiasm that would pour from his eyes. It was replaced by a colder glare, almost blank and emotionless as it narrowed behind you and jaw locked tight. There was something primal in the way his hand behind your head was pushing you closer to him as if he was hounding over his game from another predator.
Goosebumps prickled your skin awake.
If butterflies exploded in your stomach and ignited a molten heat in your abdomen at that very moment, it's a secret you’d take to your grave.
“Tae?”
“Noona, I think we should head inside. It's getting cold.” Jimin’s sweet voice sounded forced and you resisted the urge to look at him.
While their reaction to being challenged is obvious, you couldn't, for the life of you, figure out why he should feel like that when he’s been seeing other people since his confession. From your past dates where he attended as one of your escape plans, he’s never expressed such an intense show of displeasure so you thought his fleeting crush had passed.
Until tonight.
When Taehyung pulled away, the traces of his hostility were gone and you had to double take at how vastly different he's appearing now. He has his lower lip pushed out into a pout, eyes wide with mirth as he reaches up to cup your cheeks, his warm palms heating your cold-nipped skin.
“Aigoo, you're so cold noona. Let's go in and binge that foreign show you've been following.”
With hands now intertwined, he leads you inside the building where Jimin was already standing inside and was holding the door open for you both. You were being tugged into your own home yet you couldn’t help but feel tense as Taehyung and Jimin welcomed you back in with the same dark look you saw earlier.

head over heels

pairings: sirius black x fem!reader
synopsis: sirius loves visiting your record shop, for the vinyls and for you.
The tiny bell above the door jingled, and you didn’t even have to look up to know who it was. Sirius Black strolled into the record shop—again. You’d lost count of how many times he’d been here this month alone, but he always showed up with a grin that somehow managed to be both cocky and endearing.
Your mum had joked once that he must have the biggest vinyl collection in the city. But you knew better. Half the time, Sirius didn’t even seem to care which records he bought. He always spent more time leaning on the counter, chatting you up, than he did browsing the shelves.
“Afternoon, rock star,” he greeted, that signature lopsided grin firmly in place as he approached the counter.
You rolled your eyes at the nickname but couldn’t stop the small smile tugging at your lips. “Back so soon, Sirius? Didn’t I just see you yesterday?”
“What can I say? I have impeccable taste in music and an ever-growing collection to feed.” He winked, resting his forearms on the counter as he leaned a little closer. “And who better to guide me than the expert herself?”
“You’re ridiculous,” you muttered, grabbing the stack of new arrivals you’d been sorting through.
“Ridiculously charming, you mean,” he quipped.
You gave him a look, though your cheeks felt warm. “What are you after this time? Let me guess—something loud and obnoxious?”
Sirius clutched his chest dramatically, as if you’d wounded him. “You wound me, truly. I’m here for something... different.”
“Oh?” you asked, raising an eyebrow.
He grinned, eyes sparkling with mischief. “What’s your favorite album in the shop right now? Pick something for me.”
You rolled your eyes again but humored him, scanning the shelves behind you. You grabbed a record you thought he might actually like—something classic but edgy—and handed it to him.
He held the sleeve reverently, his long fingers brushing against yours as he took it. “Perfect. I’ll take it.”
“You didn’t even look at it,” you teased, crossing your arms.
“Don’t need to. I trust your taste.”
That made your stomach flip, though you tried to ignore it. You busied yourself ringing up the record, but you could feel Sirius watching you.
When you glanced up, his gaze was softer, more thoughtful, like he was trying to memorize the curve of your smile or the way your hair fell over your shoulder. The moment he realized you’d caught him staring, his cheeks flushed pink, and he quickly looked away, pretending to be engrossed in a nearby display of CDs.
You bit back a smile. He was so confident most of the time that seeing him bashful was oddly endearing.
“Anything else?” you asked, trying to keep your tone light.
“Oh, definitely,” Sirius said, recovering quickly as he wandered over to the movie soundtrack section. He picked up a random CD and waved it at you. “What do you think? Too much John Williams in my collection?”
“You can never have too much John Williams,” you replied with a laugh. “But you’re not actually here for movie soundtracks, are you?”
“Caught me,” he admitted, his grin softening. “Maybe I just like the excuse to see you.”
His words hung in the air for a moment, and you felt your face heat up again. Sirius didn’t seem to mind your silence, though. If anything, he looked more confident, like he’d just scored a point in some game you hadn’t realized you were playing.
𐙚˙⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩
Later that night, Sirius sat on the couch in his flat, staring at the ceiling while Remus flipped through a book and James played with a football in the corner.
“I’m an idiot,” Sirius declared.
“Yes, we know,” Remus said without looking up.
James laughed. “What is it this time? Forget to flirt with the cashier at the bakery?”
“It’s the girl at the record shop,” Sirius groaned, running a hand through his hair. “I swear, I was going to ask her out today. I even practiced. But then she caught me staring, and I panicked.”
Remus finally looked up, his expression equal parts exhausted and amused. “You’ve been talking about her for weeks, Pads. Just ask her out already. The worst she can say is no.”
James nodded, spinning the football in his hands. “Seriously, mate. If you don’t, I’ll do it for you.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” Sirius said, narrowing his eyes.
James smirked. “Try me.”
That was all the motivation Sirius needed. The next day, he walked into the record shop with a purpose.
You were behind the counter, sorting through a shipment of CDs, when the bell jingled and Sirius strolled in. This time, he didn’t pause to browse or make a cheeky comment. He came straight up to you, leaning casually on the counter like always—but his usual grin was softer, a little nervous around the edges.
“Hey,” he said, scratching the back of his neck.
“Hey,” you replied, tilting your head. “No new records to buy today?”
“Not exactly,” he said, shifting his weight. “I, uh... actually wanted to ask you something.”
You set the CDs down, giving him your full attention. “What’s up?”
Sirius hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath. “Would you want to go out with me? Sometime. On a date, I mean. Dinner, or coffee, or whatever you like. Your choice.”
You blinked, caught off guard by how nervous he sounded. For all his usual bravado, he was fidgeting slightly, his confidence faltering as he waited for your answer.
A smile spread across your face as you nodded. “I’d like that.”
His expression lit up, the tension in his shoulders easing instantly. “Yeah? When are you free?”
“Tomorrow, after I close up,” you said.
“Perfect,” Sirius said, his grin returning full force. “I’ll pick you up. Seven okay?”
“Seven’s perfect,” you agreed, feeling your own cheeks heat up under his gaze.
“Great. It’s a date.”
As Sirius walked out of the shop, he couldn’t stop himself from punching the air in triumph.

"Can't ignore the mistletoe" with Nathan please
I'm so sorry this took so long! <3
Is there anything you want to ask for?
Nathan Bateman x afab!Reader • Rating: 18+ pals • Masterlist• ao3• want to be tagged? | request info • ko-fi •
Warnings: Nathan being a dumbass, allusions to blow jobs, not beta read, please let me know if I have missed a warning!
Word Count: 727
You’d been suspicious the second Nathan had started grinning like the Cheshire cat. Any obvious glee on his face was always a cause for slight concern, especially if you couldn’t work out the reason for his expression straight away.
“What?” You ask, your voice calm and even as you stop in your tracks. You’re one step away from breaching the threshold of the kitchen.
He blinks once, pulling his grin back into a more reasonable smile. “What?”
You stay looking at him, so used to this behaviour by now that you don’t even bother to roll your eyes.
“It’s no fun if you don’t say something else.” He teases, pushing his glasses higher up on his nose.
“Good.”
He tuts, pretending to be annoyed but you can see through his facade easily. “Come here.”
You stand firm and raise an eyebrow.
“What?” He shrugs, stepping back to lean against the counter.
“What?”
He gives you a look, “You were coming in here a second ago.”
“That was before you gave me that killer clown expression.”
Nathan snorts, “A smile? You’re calling my smile a-”
“Yes, I am.”
“That’s very mean,” he shakes his head, “You’ve hurt my feelings actually.” He says unconvincingly.
“Oh, you have feelings, do you get them in the new update?” You try to say seriously but can’t even finish the sentence without smiling.
“That was a good one,” he mock claps for you, “how long have you been working on that devastating jibe, princess?”
You give him a playful glare as you walk into the kitchen, your previous mistrust briefly forgotten. “Fuck off Natha-”
You yelp in surprise as he pounces on you, wrapping his strong arms around your body.
He gives you another cheeky grin and purposefully glances upwards. You inwardly groan when you follow his line of sight. There’s a sprig of mistletoe hastily suck to the ceiling above your head.
“Can’t ignore the mistletoe.” He gives you a smarmy grin.
“Is that real?”
“Of course it is.”
“Where did you get it?”
“What’s with all the questions?” He leans a fraction forward and you pull back. There’s a small flash of emotion across his face that you can’t quite place. Panic. He freezes for half a second, his muscles relaxing as he lets you go. “I got it on the walk this morning.” He says quietly, his voice softer as he takes a small step backwards. “I just thought…”
“You want to kiss me that bad, huh?” You nudge his arm gently and he scowls.
“No.”
“Liar.”
He glares at you, his mouth open to retort. But he doesn’t get the chance.
You rush forward, pressing your lips to his in a frenzy and slip your tongue inside.
He gasps, tensing for a moment before he moans softly and kisses you back eagerly. His glasses bump against you slightly as he moves, his hands coming to rest on your waist as he presses closer.
His beard brushes against your skin, his kisses deep and warm and wanting. Needing to devour more and more of you.
He follows you when you pull back, his eyes closed as he tries to keep his lips pressed to yours. A gulp echos in his throat as he stills himself, breathing hard.
“I…” He starts.
“I knew you wanted to kiss me.” You tease, smirking at him and raising an eyebrow.
To your surprise, he looks a little bashful for a moment, almost embarrassed. “Yeah.”
You bite back a snort. “Yeah?” You press a little closer, enjoying the, for once, slowed down Nathan. You can practically see the cogs whirring behind his eyes.
He nods, swallowing thickly as you lightly place your hand on his chest and walk him backwards until he bumps into the counter.
“You could have just asked.” You give him a playful look and he frowns slightly in confusion, as if the thought never even occurred to him.
You slip your hand down his chest slowly until you can toy at his waistband and the very tip of his obvious erection. “So,” you stretch out the word, “Is there anything you want to ask for?”
Nathan smiles cheekily, “Another kiss a little lower?”
You laugh as he presses his lips to your cheek and you slip your fingers under his clothes.

Feet Kicker.
Roman Reigns x Black Female Reader
Rating: 18+
Warning: Oral really… (Female receiving of course).
“Who knew such a big and grown ass man would moan and kick his feet in the air while eating his wife out?!”
A/N: I saw a quote on TikTok about this and I just pictured Roman 😭.
GIF: @romanreigns
What a man, what a man, what a man
What a mighty good man
Gotta say it again now
What a man, what a man, what a man
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
What a man, what a man, what a man
What a mighty good man
Yes he is
That’s what many could say about the Tribal Chief, the Head of The Table, Roman Reigns. Yet, here he was… on his hands and knees removing your shoes, kissing your legs and feet. Nearly whimpering like a little baby.
Gulping as he looked up to realize panties were nowhere to be found on your body. Just your glistening cunt shining for him and him only.
“Why so nervous?!” You smiled sweetly down at your man. His eyes quickly dart back down to your feet, avoiding all eye contact at all costs. (And typically he was a boss at this of course).
If the world knew how much of a whimpering little man Roman could be, it’ll probably stop. “Lemme take my dress off while you handle yourself right there.” Roman laid on his knees in silence with his head and hands grasping at his knees.
Your whistle drew his thoughts back up, to only see you completely nude. “I can guess by your silence that you like what you see… per usual of course.” Your shoulders raised in confidence as your tantalizing ass was facing him.
You crawled onto the slowly with your dribbling cunt smushed between your thighs for Roman’s viewing pleasure. You shaked your ass slightly, giving him even more of a show.
You rested your head gently onto the pillow then flipping yourself over and spreading your legs to show the goods.
Your essence coated your inner thighs and you bent your knees to near your white toes by your pussy, knowing how much Roman adored your cunt and perfectly manicured feet. But, sitting there in a picture perfect manner arose something in him to man up and commence his ministrations.
He rose from the ground and onto the bed almost like a lion observing their prey. He then lays on the bed, flat on his stomach and hands pressed against your thighs spreading them even further.
He nearly drooled which made you giggle at his sheer fascination of your pussy. His large thumbs spread at your cunt, observing all of its pink prettiness and wet slick. As he treaded closer, he could feel the warmth of your cunt.
You placed your hands on his which then made him look up at you. “Are you gonna start of what?! She’s been waiting for a little bit.” Pointing down at your desperate bundle of nerves.
He chuckled, blushing slightly and bashful my put his head down. He soon placed heated kisses across both planes of your thighs. His hot breath brushed across your cunt, leaving you to shiver slightly.
Roman’s whole mouth then goes to cover the entirety of your pussy lips, immediately coating them in a base of his saliva. His tongue trailed in between your lips into the sweet middle your cunt.
The teasing of your clit led your hands straight to his luxurious locks. “Mmmmm right there baby.” Roman lifted his head to admire your blissful face. He hummed, averting his eyes back to your convulsing pussy.
His blistering thumb stroked the mess he made so nastily and he dove back into your waters. Looking up from the ceiling you notice his knees were bent and his feet were raised to the sky. Feet crossed and legs swinging back and forth.
Was he actually swinging his feet while eating you out?! His head began swaying back and forth as well. He must have really been good time doing this you thought to yourself.
“Are yo-u having a good time there?!” He raised his head to show you a wet beard and a big grin. “Always baby.”
“Go ahead and continue then.” He happily did and you were soon reaching your peak. He slid his middle finger into your warm and tight vagina fingering you ever so gracefully. His lips spread across your clit, making out with it in such a dirty manner.
He hummed once more and the vibrations of his humming made every part of your pussy tingle from top to bottom. Making your toes curl and his name flowing from your lips endlessly.
“I’m gonna cum Daddy.” It started to become too much, both you and Roman began whimpering at the top of your lungs. Your eyes closed and you curled up to Roman, clutching at his hair. Opening your eyes to then see his eyes peering up, his tongue swiping at every crevice he could get at. His eyes signaled you to cum.
Your back fell to the mattress and you screamed his name as he made you come undone. “Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.” Is all you could say as he continued to coax you through you orgasm. His lips and finger were wept away from your cunt as he admired your it pulsing.
His feet never ceased from swinging with his lips covered in his saliva and your essence. “Was this really fun for you?!”
“Of course it was mama.”
Ohh… couldn’t you tell.

TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️ Kidnapping , sea sickness, cursing, isolation, dark themes, murder (not the reader), head bashing ( not the reader) , ripped out eyeballs ( again not the reader)
You can choose your godly parent but it can't be Hermes
If you click continue reading you have acknowledged you have read the warnings
You sat dejected on a corner of your small bed in the room you were locked in. The floor was constantly moving and it made you sick to your stomach. You had figured out you were on a boat by the smells and sounds. You hated it here , you hated the loneliness, you missed camp half blood the place you should be right now and most of all you hated him your captor Luke castellan. " At least Annabeth and Percy got away. " You muttered to yourself. " I miss the old Luke. Back when he wasn't a manipulative bitch. " You muttered to yourself although I guess he has always been manipulative........ Luke would never let you within 10 feet of another male or person he thought you tried to take you away from him even if said male or person was your half sibling. Actually really the only person Luke would let you talk to was Annabeth and Thalia's tree.
You sighed softly looking up at the ceiling. " I want to go home......" You muttered. " I really should’ve noticed the signs earlier. " You muttered remembering the gruesome sight of your dead ex partner a few years back. Your ex had their skull based multiple times and their eyes ripped out of their head. There was more to it than just those things but you preferred not to think about it right now. Someone let themselves into your room / prison. " Fuck off Castellan. " You said not bothering to look up at the person you knew exactly who it was. " That's no way to talk to the person who feds you . Is it?" Luke asked walking over to you he could see your eyes flicker in fear for a slight second only to be replaced by fight and sass. " Well you wouldn't need to feed me if you didn't trap me here against my fucking will." You replied glaring at him.
Luke grabbed your chin forcing your eyes to meet his and for a split second you thought you saw the old Luke. Without saying anything he walked out . You were once again left alone with your thoughts. ( Godley parent) if you can hear me please get me away from this lunatic. You thought silently to yourself as your stomach growled in hunger . " God's damn it Castellan. " You grumbled to yourself you'd just have to wait until he decided to bring you dinner.

Unexpected 48
Warnings: non/dubcon, pregnancy, pegging, Lloyd being the worst, post partum, csection, suicidial ideation, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
You calm the baby as your own tears dry up. She doesn’t deserve misery even if you’re cursed with it. Maybe that’s what you should try, to save her from the same. If you can.
You get her to sleep at last and fall back onto the bed, weak with cheeks like crepe paper from crying. You stare at the ceiling as the window darkens as the night approaches. You knew deep down Lloyd wouldn’t be gone forever but that eventuality could never prepare you for his return.
Your eyes drift closed as you lay sideways on the mattress, too lazy to drag yourself up to the pillows. How pathetic are you. Feeling sorry for yourself because the obvious happened. Because that scum ran off like the cowardly dog he is. You knew from the moment you met him who he was so you can't pretend to be surprised.
There’s a tap on the door. You tense but your sense keeps you from panicking. It’s too gentle to be that jackass. You know he doesn’t have much in that thick skull of his but you hope he knows better than to try anything tonight.
“Sweetheart,” Harlan’s voice seeps through the door like molasses, “if you’re asleep, don’t worry, I just wanted to check in.”
You swallow and sit up. You prefer him to his wife or son. There’s a twinge in your chest as you realise you missed him. Of anyone, he’s been your only true companion. Not some erstwhile comfort or momentary escape.
You get up and open the door. The tall man stoops just below the lintel, his thick white facial hair catching your attention. Everything happened so fast, you hadn’t noticed it. His usually clean shaven face is slightly haggard with his exhaustion.
“Hey,” you greet him in a half-whisper, the quiet of the house makes even that seem loud, “wanna come in?”
“Sure,” he accepts and ducks inside as you hold the door. You shut it behind him as he smooths his grown out locks and peers around with a bashful posture.
You come around him and stop by the bassinet, looking in at the dozing infant. You put your hand on the canopy and lift your chin, “you wanna see her?”
He hesitates, reaching to rub his neck, “I came to see to you first,” he intones, “I can’t imagine it’s been easy.”
“Me?” You scoff, “you don’t have to lie. You can hold her, she’ll just fall back asleep,” you move to reach into the bassinet and he nears, putting his hand out but not touching you.
“No, I mean it, I’m not gonna ask how you are ‘cause I know. But you’re my daughter and I wasn’t out there for just that bastard. I didn’t run halfway across the god– across the world for that moron,” he sniffs, “come on, let her sleep.” He pauses and glances down, lips curling slightly at the sight of his granddaughter, “she’s even more beautiful than I recall.”
He waves you away from her and you sit on the edge of the bed. You sit in silence as you watch his lingering gaze on the baby. Maybe, if he can look at her with that much love…
“You got questions, I’ll answer them,” he moves away from the bassinet as he sits beside you, “and if you don’t wanna talk about him, fair enough.”
You nod and look at the floor. You don’t know what you want. It doesn't really matter where he was. It matters that he left and that he stayed away. He confirmed every doubt you carried for nine months.
“Not about him,” you shake your head, feeling the sting return to the brim of your eyes, “but… did you mean it?”
“Did I mean what?”
“You called me your daughter,” you look at him meekly, “is that really what you believe?”
“'Course,” he snorts, “Dottie may’ve never given me a girl but the world did and they did a good job.”
Your cheek pinch and you fight back tears, “I don’t think you’d want me to be your daughter if you knew.”
“If I knew what?” He watches you, no judgment, no expectation. If you don’t tell him, you know he won’t ask again.
You hang your head and cross your arms. You close your eyes as you pick out the words, “I… found someone else. Just… just to waste the time. I wasn’t going to wait any longer for him.”
He hums and takes a long breath, “well, I know now and I don’t feel any different.”
You clamp your lips together and you glance at the bassinet. You hear the baby babble. You shudder and let your hands fall into your lap.
“There’s something else.”
“There is.”
You sniff and cover your face. You don’t know if you can say it out loud. It keeps you awake at night, it eats you alive, and it wakes you every day with a wail.
“The baby…” you slide your hands away from your face, “I’m trying… so hard.”
“She’s healthy, you’re doing good, sweetheart,” he says.
“No, no, you don’t–” you nearly choke as a lump rises to your throat, “I can’t love her. I try and I try and I can’t. I can’t even say her name.”
He nods and chews on your confession. You won’t look at him. You can’t face his disappointment. You can’t bear to see in him the same hatred you feel for yourself.
He startles you as he reaches over and puts his large hand over yours. He pulls it away from your lap and sidles closer on the bed. He holds your hand tight and leans his arm against yours.
“The only thing that upsets me about that is you lying,” he says, “because if you didn’t love that little girl, you wouldn’t be so worried about not.”
Your lip temples as you stare at the wall. No, he doesn’t understand. He can’t.
“I don’t… I can’t feel it–”
“You’ve been surviving and you done that for her as much as yourself,” he lets go of your hand and lifts his arm up onto your shoulders, “you ain’t got the chance to feel. Now you do, sweetheart.” He draws you into an embrace, “you don’t gotta take care of no one but you. I’ll deal with that brat I raised.”
You sniffle as your tears well over. You can’t stymie the flow once it starts. Harlan rests his chin lightly on your head as you curl into his shoulder and sob quietly, clinging to the front of his shirt. As your knuckles press against his ribs, he winces and lets out a wheeze.
You flinch but he doesn’t let you go, keeping you close.
“Harlan,” you croak, “you’re hurt?”
“I’m just fine,” he assures you as he rubs your back, “let me tell you, I dealt Marion a worse blow.”
You laugh through your tears at the thought of it, “did you really?”
“A nice one square in the chops just for you,” he avows, “another across his big dumb nose for baby Luna, too.”
Your lips tug at the image playing in your head and the snipe about Lloyd’s nose, the most defining feature he shares with his father. You don’t know if Harlan meant to be funny but you it eases the weight in your chest. You gently pull away and look up at your father.
“Will you hold Luna?” You ask as you wipe your nose with the back of your hand, “she’s missed you so much.”

Umbrella!Ben Hargreeves x gn!reader
Relationships: Ben Hargreeves (Brelli) x gn!reader
Notes: //
Summary: A ghost has been following you around for months, commenting on and spoiling every book you read. You've been pretending not to see him, but if you have to listen to one more of his complaints, you're going to snap.

"C'mon, turn the page already."
The ghost that's been trailing you is impatient. And honestly? He's more than annoying.
You clench your jaw but make no move to read faster or acknowledge him. He still thinks you can't see him, and you'll let it stay that way.
"God, do you read slow on purpose?" the ghost groans. He's perched on the backrest of the café booth, staring down at the book in your hands.
Slowly, you turn the page, trying to ignore his groan of relief.
"Finally!"
Your eye twitches, and you're almost ready to lose it. How annoying can a dead person be? With a small clap, you close your book and place it down on the table.
"What? You can't do that, it's just getting exciting!"
You grab your drink and take a sip, ignoring him as he jumps down to sit beside you in the booth. His hand phases through the book more than once.
"C'mon, this is the only source of entertainment I've had in years! I always read the same, boring book. Every line is already in my head, can you believe that?" the ghost scoffs, narrowing his eyes. "And my brother never picks up a book. Not even in his dreams."
You try not to groan at his ranting. Sometimes, it's nice to listen to his rambles, but tonight, you really can't stand it. Not when you're trying to read in peace.
And that's not happening. For months, this ghost has followed you around, spoiling your books and making snarky comments. You thought ignoring him would make him go away, but he's sticking around.
"You always drink the same thing. Doesn't it get boring?" the ghost groans. You glance over at him, trying to remain unnoticed.
He's not bad looking—black hair, brown eyes. He's cute, actually. You can't say how he died. Normally, you can tell how they died. It's obvious when they have gunshot wounds or bashed-in heads.
At least they don’t bother you as long as you pretend not to notice them. But this one isn't making it easy. He's talking to you as if you actually understand, and now the other ghosts are starting to think the same thing.
That you can see them.
"Pick the book up again, please. I need to know what happens next," the raven-haired ghost huffs, leaning back with crossed arms.
You put your drink down, staring at the ceiling. Then you turn your head and catch his eyes. They widen, and he looks surprised. Because for once, you're not looking through him, but at him.
His eyes are brown. They look surprised and even excited, but mostly wary. He doesn't believe it.
"Can you—" He swallows, staring back at you. "You can see me."
You say nothing and grab your book. Without a word, you walk through him and make your way to the exit.
"Hey. Hey, wait! I'm Ben. Do you—Can you actually hear me? And see me?"
Without a word, you open the door.
"Hey, no. No, wait, talk to me!"

Dick Grayson x F!Reader
Note: I just started writing..I didn't actually have a full proof idea on what this story is about. :D
It was late at night, probably around 3am. You kept tossing and turning around in your bed, hoping to find that perfect sleeping posture. However it never happened, you laid there looking up, staring at the ceiling. Trying to count sheep, hoping that you'll tire yourself out eventually. You've never been able to sleep well nowadays, especially with your new job that bothered you so much..Plus you miss Dick Grayson, he was out on a late mission with Batman.
Suddenly you heard a loud thud coming from the living room, you quickly sprang out of your bed. cautiously taking the baseball bat that was beside the nightstand, a little gift from Dick. You opened the door carefully and walked into the living room quietly, you squinted your eyes, trying to find anything or anyone in the dark living room. As you scanned the area, a pair of hands touched your shoulders. You screamed and swung the bat, you heard a shout come from the person. You didn't care, you kept swinging your bat. Not knowing who was on the receiving end of it.
Just as you continued to wave the bat around, you were suddenly pinned onto the wall. "Let me go!" You opened my eyes, you didn't even realise you closed it in the first place. You looked and saw Dick, in his Nightwing suit. You widened your eyes in horror and dropped the bat.
"Dick..? Oh I'm so sorry!" He let go of you and just took off his cowl. You got the bat off the floor while he turned on the living room lights.
"Did I hurt you? Are you okay?" You rambled on but stopped when he placed a hand on your mouth, giving you a smile.
"I'm okay, I'm fine. Glad you actually used the bat." He smiled proudly at you, you looked at him incredulously. "Dick. I almost bashed your brains out." You worriedly held him, checking for injuries. "It's fine, I'm a vigilante. You know, good reflexes." He just smirked and hopped on the couch, laying on it with a relieved sigh. Finally able to rest his sore muscles.
"Just glad you actually used it to protect yourself, by the way..why are you still up? It's kinda late." He asked, he sat up while looking at you, observing you. From where you stood, you shifted nervously, "I can't sleep. You know.."
Dick frowned at you and signalled for you to come over to him, you listened without hesitation and sat on the couch beside him. "Sorry babe. Should've been here." He apologised and you shook your head. "No I understand..Gotham needs you." You yawned, leaning your head on his chest. His fingers run through your hair softly.
"I know but, you need me too.." He whispered softly, his gentle voice was sleep inducing. You hummed in disagreement. Dick frowned at this, he constantly worries about your sleep and just about everything to do with your well being. The curse of the older sibling syndrome. He held your shoulders and lifted you to sit up straight and face him.
"Babe..how can I be fighting crime outside when I have to constantly worry about your well being..you're too hard on yourself at times and it worries me." He says. Referring to how you work and never rest. You groaned, not really wanting to admit that he's right. "It's fine. I'm used to it." He lets out a frustrated sigh.
"It's not! I know it sounds hypocritical when it comes out of me, but please..take care of yourself more." He peppered you with kisses, hoping it'll convince you more. He stared lovingly at you, his blue eyes pleaded and you couldn't say no.
"...Fine, I'll take a week off. Happy?" You asked while rubbing your eyes, he stopped you by gently holding your wrist. "Of course. I'll get changed so we both can sleep, alright?" Dick gave you that love sick smile and you nodded at him with a tired smile. You watched as he went into your room. You laid on the couch, you felt so tired. Your eyes closed and you hugged the baseball bat to sleep.
Dick came out a few minutes later, wearing a normal black T-shirt and sweatpants. He walked up to the couch and he saw you just sleeping there. Hugging the baseball bat he gave you months ago when you had a B&E incident, he chuckled quietly and gently took the bat away, he carried you bridle style as he walked into your shared room, he laid you down gently, he kissed you on the forehead. Wrapping his hands around you. A way for him to protect you while sleeping. "Goodnight love." He whispered while moving a strand of hair away from your face, admiring your tired face while you slept.

I'm looking at Train Crash AU and thinking.
Man what if I injured Wars more for more bandages because I pretty sure I didn't give him enough for his severed arm
So what about an angsty reunion with an Adult Wind with Wars?
:)
The few whumps I have aren't angsty enough for my soul
so imagine you grow up after going away from your found family across time and you don't get to meet your brother again, but a younger version of him that doesn't know who you are and you get to watch him fall apart and you don't get to see how he became the big brother you knew him as. Also your father figure is now a brat. This is how Wind feels, because the moment he saw the portal that the shadow used seven years later. He's was excited to see his brothers again, to see Wars again. But no, it seems that fate fucking hates him, because while his other brothers come out perfectly well, with some differences in time passing for others; Legend: two years, Twilight: nine years, Time a month, Four: 5 years, Sky: 1 year, Wild: 6 months post TOTK, Hyrule: 5 years. Wars doesn't come through the portal at all. So while everyone accidentally calls him the captain (he never really saw how the others said he looked like the captain, plus he's in a different timeline he can't be related to him) and so during Sky's wedding, just right before Sky and Sun are about to kiss, a portal opens from the ceiling, and someone falls through on the ground, splattering onto the floor:
_____________
There's blood everywhere, people are screaming, and with the crowd of people running out on the building. Theres something else that came out of the portal as the person. A fading blue blob thing that screams in gibberish looking at the person and Sun. Sky doesn't have his sword on him. Fuck, fuck fuck fuck- this is what he gets for standing in the back waiting for- Oh fuck that either way he could have came! The person that landed on the floor, is dragging their legs to the blob, with their only other arm that's there and stabs it. The thing screams as it fades to ash. The person drops to the floor, but Twilight catches him before he could hit the ground (again). He doesn't get to hear the mysterious person but he could recognize that voice from anywhere, no matter how weak or scratchy it would be.
"Sorry everyone."
That was Wars, as Hyrule was rushing over to heal him.
_________
Okay that ain't angst enough for me so for a more proper "reunion", like a few weeks, no one let's Wind see Wars because they still treat him like the child he was even though he's as old as the others during the adventure across time! So he tries to sneak into Wars temporary room, while Wars tries to escape his room because he's gone stir crazy and yes Time he's fine! Just because he's gone through another war and lost a few important parts doesn't mean he needs coding! He has to make sure everyone is safe! So they bump into each other for the first time since they really last saw each other. (But that doesn't explain why Wind is crying- SHUT UP AND LET ME COOK) So they chat for a bit, like in a joking manner and Wars slips out that "Hey, another war happen and there was still some people across still stuck there." And Wind is mad that Wars just drops this kind of bomb, because why didn't he let the others come help him. So they end up arguing a bit and:
_________
"Why do you keep ignoring that we could have helped! I could have helped!" He yelled.
"If I dragged you there YOU could have died and Artemis wouldnt exist. I WOULDN'T EXSIST!" Wars yelled back.
__________
Now you see the angst?
So oof on both sides, Wars is internal bashing himself on the head, Wind is panicking because he becomes a dad, he's actually related to Wars- OH MY FUCKING SEA BOAT I MARRY TETRA?! And meanwhile Time is standing in the corner with surprise Pikachu face because oh shit Wars is from the timeline he technically abandoned. And like the fucking legend he came back when they needed him most
So that's uh what I have for now again.
#lu warriors#Oh look I accidentally made part of it a fic thing#*cracks knuckles*#Hehe haven't I wrote alot of reunion fics#Just not for LU#lu wind#lu time#You know I scrapped the part of Wars immediately wakes up in a unfamiliar place and tries to strangle someone on sight#And that would have been Hyrule#:)I

HIIIII!!!! saw ur post ab the bash, wanted to rq remus lupin using the prompt “every time i try to make something right, i always hurt someone” CONGRATS ON 100!!!!
lari's 100th follower bash + send me a prompt and one of my boys for a blurb
remus + “every time i try to make something right, i always hurt someone”
remus was the most loyal person anyone could meet. he would die before betraying the ones he trusted. he would kill to protect them. he was also a big fat liar, and you were still trying to understand how to trust him when those two truths lived in him so easily. he was so fearful of losing people lying became second nature, afraid the truth would be worse.
maybe if he was a good liar it wouldn't be much a problem, but he wasn't. his voice would crack, his eyes would avoid you, his face would be immediately sweaty. then you would not only be mad at him for the original reason (almost leaving you, telling people he would leave you, hiding the extent of his hurt, being secretive about his orders from dumbledore) but mostly because he was lying.
at least those seemed somewhat reasonable to lie about, but the argument you two were having now had not an ounce of reason. "someone flirts with you constantly. you don't tell her off, fine. she tries to kiss you and then you just avoid her. fine." you're walking around, listing what you had heard from sirius earlier, your hands gripping on the waist line of your shirt, controlling yourself, your anger. it definitely wasn't fine. "then i meet her and you tell me she's just someone from work?"
"i'm aware it doesn't look goo—" you cut him right away, not even giving him space to try and save his werewolf ass from the mess he had got himself him.
"oh no, it does not. it looks terrible, lupin, what're you doing? keeping safe spaces you can run to when you do decide to actually leave me?" you weren't the type to bring back old wounds to fresh fights, but that was one that would never completely heal. you would always remember lily's worried voice telling you about how remus asked james for help getting away. or when you woke up on a random morning monday, his baggage still done, his face pleading for forgiveness for having almost left.
"i—will not explain myself again." he kept thinking the more he talked, the more the argument would escalate and somewhere you would notice for yourself he wasn't good. he couldn't deal with that right now. he actually felt loved with you, a type of love he didn't have to exhaust himself trying to earn it. you always just gave him, he was terrified you'd take it back if you two kept fighting.
"yeah don't, you might actually tell me the truth for once, wouldn't want that." your tongue drips of venom, even if barely loud enough for him to hear, the loud sigh you let out after almost hiding away your anger. before he could even reply, your tired steps headed to the room you both shared. the tears you've been swallowing trying hard to come forward, the air on your lungs becoming thinner and thinner. you drop to the floor as soon as you get to it, laying down as flat and quiet as you could.
you needed to calm down.
breath in. breath out.
you spend good time like that, your eyes closed, your mind focused on not freaking out. you weren't jealous, that wasn't the issue, being kept in the dark was the issue. if he just told you from the beginning you two could've joked about it, it would't be a big deal. the lying was a big deal. especially when he tried so hard to keep those details away from you, he was actually capable of being a good liar. that was worrisome.
you don't hear his steps, or the way he leans on the door frame watching you. you only feel his presence when he notices your breathing is calmer, and he lays on the floor by your side, looking up the ceiling, his fingers intertwined on the back of his head.
"every time i try to make something right, i always hurt someone." his voice is quiet, sincere, it doesn't ask for your pity, it doesn't make him the victim. it just is. he's just telling you. "sincerely, my love, i just didn't want to upset you... i was—i was scared you would think it was me giving her signs. i was terrified of it, honestly, merlin i—i'm always afraid. there's your truth." you don't reply for an instant, he doesn't move either.
you roll your body closer to him, his arm finds home underneath your shoulders, pulling you to his chest. you feel his heartbeat. his cologne. "such an idiot." he chuckles into your hair, even though he knows you're not joking, you're not trying to lighten the mood. "stop trying to make things right, you don't know what that is." you say finally, your final opinion on the matter. it was true, he had been running away from every conflict, trying to lie his ass out of problems for so long that for him, those were the right choices. the obvious choices.
it stings, the firmness on your voice, but not only he deserves it, he's glad you're still lying on him, your fingers rubbing his chest lightly. you were never afraid to tell him the truth, didn't matter how harsh. and it never hurt him more than he had hurt you by lying. it actually made him love you even more.
he vows silently then, to make things right by you, and with you, to protect you in the same ways you would him. if re-learning what right and wrong would be the thing to avoid hurting you, then he would do that. if learning to be confrontational, to speak his mind... if those were necessary, then he would. he promises to himself only. he keeps that promise.
"stay with me and i swear i won't be afraid anymore."

when heaven falls, i will be your light [one shot]
Explicit | Steddie | 876 Words | Complete
[ NEXT FIC ]
“I’m here to deliver a package,” Steve had said, eyes still locked on his little scanner gun thing. Eddie had taken one look at Steve's perfectly tanned, thick, hairy thighs in those light blue shorts and the tasteful bulge behind the fly and licked his lips. “I bet you are, big boy,” Eddie had responded, still fucking ogling Steve’s cock like a creep, barely managing to drag his eyes away before he drooled but not before Steve looked up at him. “I am so fucking sorry." CW: Pure filth, widdle bit of fluff at the end.
[ READ ON AO3 ]
Eddie jolted with every slapping thrust against his ass, each one punching loose a shaky whimper as he clung to the counter. He was barely able to stay standing with how hard Steve was pushing, pushing, pushing into him.
It was filthy, standing in the middle of the bar Eddie just bought and started renovating, braced against the bar itself with his pants down around his knees. Behind him, Steve was fully clothed, shorts just open enough to get his dick out. Eddie could feel the bite of the fly’s zipper against his ass on each snap of Steve’s hips.
Eddie was in heaven, being positively wrecked by the fattest cock he had ever had the pleasure of experiencing, attached to the hottest mailman to ever grace the ranks of the US Postal Service.
Eyes rolling back, Eddie sobbed and dropped his forehead onto the bar as Steve drilled into his prostate. Looking down at himself while he whimpered and pleaded desperately, he saw the way precum drooled from his cock. Every single one of Steve’s thrusts sent the string of pearly slick swinging, splattering it across his thighs or against the fucking bar.
How did this happen? How did Eddie, new in town, barely been there for more than a handful of days, end up bent over against a bar?
It was so stupid, actually, one of Eddie’s many Mouth Moved Before Brain Caught Up moments.
“I am so fucking sorry, I swear I don’t—”
Steve had just looked him up and down, smirked, and passed him the package he was holding. After Eddie had signed for it, face flaming, Steve said slyly as he left, “See you around, Mr. Munson.”
Eddie had considered moving immediately, faking his death, changing his name, launching himself into a blackhole, something. Anything to never have to face the mailman ever again.
But then the man returned today, on a Sunday, wearing clothes that weren’t his uniform but were very close in colour and how they hugged his body. He stood there in the middle of the construction zone that was the great room of Eddie's bar, thumb hooked into the belt loop of his snug shorts and his hip cocked, smirking as Eddie gawked at him.
“I’m here to deliver a package,” Steve had said, low and suggestive, and Eddie wasn’t sure how he stayed conscious after that.
“Oh, fuck, I'm so close,” Eddie whined breathlessly, throwing himself back against Steve’s thrusts.
“Me too, holy shit, so tight,” Steve grunted, fingers digging into Eddie’s hips hard enough to bruise.
“Not tight, you’re just fuckin’ huge, oh my God,” Eddie whined, throwing his head back to pant up at the ceiling.
Steve just laughed at that, didn’t even deny it or get bashful or anything. “Touch that pretty cock of yours, wanna feel you come,” Steve said through a thick moan, and Eddie would have loved to follow such a perfect order.
However, he was so wound up, so close and Steve's thrusts were so perfect, and that voice calling his dick pretty and telling him what to do? Eddie was coming with a hoarse sob, untouched and all over the ancient panelling of the bar, shaking as Steve fucked him through it.
It didn't take long for Steve to follow him over the edge, letting out a gasping moan as he tipped over at the hips, draping himself over Eddie’s back to kiss his shoulder and then his cheek. Something fluttered in Eddie’s chest at that, the intimacy of that sweet kiss in his cheek hitting deeper than the warmth of Steve’s cum filling the condom inside him.
They stood there, panting and pressed flush against each other while they caught their breath. Finally, Steve let out a soft sigh, lips still against the side of Eddie’s face, before kissing him deliberately one more time and pulling out.
“Holy shit, don’t let me go,” Eddie whined, his legs shaking as Steve stopped supporting most of his weight. “Gonna fall over.”
“I got you,” Steve laughed, sitting on a nearby stool and hauling Eddie onto his lap. With another chuckle, Steve asked, “So, not complaining, but this wasn't actually my plan.”
“Shut the fuck up. You walk in here dressing and talking like you’re straight out of a porno and this wasn’t your plan? Sure,” Eddie laughed, sitting up and twisting in his seat to look at Steve.
“I mean, that was mostly a joke to see you blush again. I seriously only planned to ask for your number,” Steve said softly, and Eddie snorted.
“You kissed me first,” Eddie pointed out and Steve just grinned.
“Yeah, I did,” he agreed easily before kissing Eddie’s nose. “So, can I get your number?”
Eddie blushed and grinned. “Yeah, definitely.”
