i think the biggest whiplash i had was when barbatos and leraje was released from whb. sun lover versus hunting/ cynical vs a guy who likes thunder - magi anon
Now, I'm a little fuzzy on this, but I think they *can* reject conquerors. If memory serves right, Belial tried to do so with Hakuryuu (but was forced to anyway), so did Zepar with Sinbad (He picked Serendine instead, after a contest, but wasn't all that keen on Sin regardless iirc), and we saw that with Leraje too (flipped Kouen off and picked Kouha instead, which I'll actually talk about below) as well as Sinbad getting kicked out because he already had seven djinn, so I'm working with that assumption in mind, just as a heads up.
Leraje also gave me whiplash, in a way. However... I don't know if I'd say she's cynical as whole. She was hurt and betrayed by someone she trusted and as result, she ended up guarding her heart behind three military-degree walls. And the worst part is that it still hurts like a bitch. That's way she rejected Kouen without a moment's hesitation and called him a cheater to his face. That's why she picked Kouha as her king candidate instead. Was he the one with more odds? Probably not. But she had a little bit of hope in him, because that child, who was tagging along his beloved older brother, wasn't just feared and respected, but loved.
In a way, Kouha is what she needed, someone willing to pick the broken pieces of everyone around him, patch them together and remind them that they are worthy of love and respect themselves. That's why a lot of people follow Kouha, because at his core, he's kind and caring and maybe a little bit self sacrificial.
Leraye, on the other hand... Well... We don't have the whole picture, but he seems more cruel, and bratty overall, and I bet Leraje would take a single look at her counterpart, and say that he looks like a playboy... But at least he's pretty, as a saving grace.
They both share that streak of being maybe a little too invested in someone they love, though (Leraje never quite let go of Focalor, and Leraye trails after Satan like a puppy) so yeah.
I don't quite recall Djinn Barbatos in terms of personality, but the silver vs gold color palette is definitely interesting. But I dived into the wiki anyway, and he is noted as someone cheerful, the easygoing type you can get along with, but also a responsible sort who knew that when duty calls, you must attend to it, but after the fall and all, he lost some of his mortal morality and became much more war loving. But he still chose Muu of all people. Muu, who's kind, caring, a goof, the pitch perfect sunshine pup... And also a terrifying, if a little obtuse, guardian dog when he has to, so apparently Barbs kept that outlook of we party when we can, and we fight when we must.
Devil Barbs... I think he's a wee bit more careless. He wanted to go naked to war, after all. Which isn't all that different from the Alma Toran gang and the Djinn equips in a way, but it kinda gives "I don't give a shit" right now. And he seems a little less approachable, more callous, I guess?
So overall I think those two would get along somewhat, but they would have frictions, especially when it comes to "you should get your shit together, you're in the middle of a literal war". But if you get them together to party and spend downtime, congrats! You are now in the middle of a) a shit show b) an orgy c) lots of fun or d) all of the above! They would gang up on OM!Barbs, probably, at least to get him to loosen up on down times. Although Djinn Barbs would be against disturbing Demon Barbs when he's on duty. He might not be fighting, but he is serving a king, just like he did in the past.
I know you didn't ask for a rant-analysis-speculation, but! :D!
#Hey! The different spellings and them being called devils came in handy!#I uh... Like Leraje a normal amount#Hope you liked the word vomit and personal opinions!#what in hell is bad#Barbatos#Leraye#Ask

[Magi reread] Night 11: Necropolis
Look at my boy. He's so smart :3 But that's what I meant. He figured out Jamil sucks at Torran & tricked him.
More skillz.
Careful.
That he did >:)
Nightmare.
Kinda wild to look at it knowing about Alma Toran. Just, man.
Character development.
ALIBABA WILL BE THE MAYOR, AND ALADDIN WILL BE THE VICE-MAYOR!!!!!
Also kinda funny given how Alibaba would overhaul a monarchy, and turn his country into a republic over becoming a king, but here he's like Imma be a mayor.
Ok, that's actually so sweet of Alibaba. He knows how much Ugo means to Aladdin :(
Ugo is, indeed, very good-looking.
You know, I've had this strange realization that Alibaba was NEVER introduced to Ugo, not until literally the Final Arc. He'd seen him several times, but they were never like formally introduced to each other or anything. Morgiana met Ugo, Scheherezade met Ugo, Titus met Ugo, but Alibaba? Nope. Damn, boy, you always miss out on EVERYTHING.

i cant believe i dug myself down another rabbit hole w sheba's clothing and then my internet went to being like .03 speed again which slowed the whole process a ton and now its. almost 11. and i havent done anything for school tmrw yet. its like i didnt learn the first time i tried this in hs.
actually i was a little more successful this time so might as well share what ive found. this applies to all the magicians of alma toran that the arc focuses on.
my main (actual) breaking point was the discovery of red knotted sashes worn around the waist of egyptian royals. i guess i had been going about searching once i fell down that particular rabbit hole as if sheba's rope were red, and then it took me a minute to back up and remember it was blue.
this wasn't completely out of the loop, though. all eight magicians with a divine staff are designed through the first two parts of the arc relatively the same (minus sheba until after the first timeskip, but she gets there) with a red shawl that falls to the waist. after a lot of time thinking on it i'm still not sure if the red that wraps around the waist is part of the same shawl, or a different one that forms the outer layer of the skirt, and then trails one piece further down (or its one rly long shawl that goes through the red skirt layer to the ground. regardless)
both would make sense, but i bring up the double-layer skirt because its another egyptian style. also when i saw shawl, its the red cloth that wraps around one shoulder (what would modernly be called a sash) instead of the top that solomon wears in the last part of the arc (or the white that sinbad wears pre-final arc) that could also be called a shawl, but in a different culture. the alma toran version is most similar to the hebrew-style shawl that was influenced by an earlier ancestor, the canaan people.
i'll bring this up more, but in general, alma toran clothing takes basis from two main styles: phoenician and egyptian. they both share ancestors and take style influence in turn, so to say the reference is exactly these two may not be true! it's jus what ive found evidence of.
after that tangent and a half let me swing back around: the red sashes were looped and worn around the waist of high egyptian royals. but there was also a blue sash worn by lower-ranked royals. that realization made me recall sheba's sash is blue, and not red. and it is very similar -it's rope-like, knotted, worn around the waist, and worn together with red cloth. and its worn by solomon and the magicians exclusively. but there is another thing, actually.
because, after ascending higher to king, solomon's sash changes to red. you could say there was symbolism with the red rope he wore as a necklace earlier in the arc, but near the end, he is definitely in red instead of blue. add that with aladdin's sash in the final arc, and it rly makes me wish david got good colored art in a divine status, just to see if that symbol was still there. the red sash marked solomon's departure from the others as everyone elevated him to king of the realm. and the rest falls into place from there.
going back to the to the two reference styles! because everything that follows could honestly originate from any of these. egyptian style traces back to assyrian roots, loosely, which traces back to sumerian culture. likewise, phoenician culture is pretty much remnants of canaan ancestors (hebrew people share canaan ancestors with phoenicians, which explains some similarities in ancient clothing.) both groups originate from close mesopotamian ancestors, and the sumerians eventually morph to form the babylonian empire, upon which alma toran itself is based. that was a long drawl, so basically, things are closely related culture-wise. everything eventually falls back into one.
phoenician clothes are known for being dyed rich colors, while still maintaining white. in particular, there are popular depictions of an open-chested phoenician shirt with sleeves and style very similar to the divine magicians early in the arc. gold-rimmed white, lots of lines and gold accents. dyed blue and red and purple. (purple isnt a color depicted in alma torran clothing, but theres established emphasis on the relation between blue and red, so)
both phoenician and egyptian clothing share their loose and tunic-y style, definitely due to their geographical location, but probably also from shared ancestors. egyptians in particular wore lots of plain linen, but the higher in status you were, the fancier the fabric. one popular was a thin material thats credited with all the depictions we have today of egyptian women clad in see-through garments. this in particular reminds me of the red shawl sheba (and others) wear, and also leans more to the idea that the red material around the waist isn't part of the same shawl.
another egyptian trait among those of higher status is multi-layered skirts. the style is wrap-around, which is another trait shared with the magicians, especially at the end of the arc concerning the three magi. but while the skirt style is more egyptian, the design is inherently phoenician, from the patterns and fringe decorating the ends. (this is common in high-ranked assyrians' clothing as well! esp accenting white with gold and red elements) the multiple layers were held up by a sash at the waist, and the overskirt layers were thinner and more sheer. the shawls worn during this time were long, near 15 feet (so i could see one draped over the front and back around the shoulder and still landing near knees at least.)
[i had a point for the headwraps specifically worn by the two female magi but i cannot for the life of me retrace the source at this point. if i find it ill go back and add]
i mentioned solomon's shawl later on in the arc so lets swing back around to that. thats most likely based on the egyptian equivalent, longer in back and ties in front. the long drape the remaining magicians wear after the last timeskip is close to assyrian style. (the pattern suggests closer ties with the hebrew version, though)
wow k between other things its closer to 1 in the morning now so.. thats a wrap!! not everything but its what ive got compiled into one
#magi#meta#alma toran#stuff like this is near useless but so impt somehow#watch me pick apart smth for real-life basis#ESP bc theres no good pics of magi!sheba#somehow me looking for rl refs turned into.. this#next time ill dw smth random#make smth up#but this is fun too!! love stuff like this#watch me do sinnoh-hokkaido relations next#(fr tho after this semester ill have lots of data for it..)

This is more of an interaction explanation than an actual headcanon. But, because Paimon and the other djinn are technically unable to leave their vessels unless called for by a magi, it makes actual roleplay interactions rather difficult. To amend that, I have the following,
The djinn are bound to their vessels and dungeons. We know that when a dungeon conquer enters a dungeon, they are briefly transported inside a magic construct within Alma Toran. The dungeons themselves are located in the underground cities in which each djinn lived. The real bodies of each of the djinn reside in these cities, awaiting a time when they will be awakened by their conqueror. When the dungeon is conquered, djinn are transferred inside the metal vessel. The djinn don’t physically move but rather the pathway which leads to them is placed inside the vessel. When a magi is present or some other large source of magoi, the djinn are able to physically manifest in the human world, if only for a brief amount of time.
However, either after the fight with the Medium or in some weird gray period after the World Summit arc, the binds keeping the djinn inside their vessels are released. They are able to draw on their own magoi in order to manifest themselves. There are limitations however. Namely,
They cannot manifest in their full form as a djinn but instead appear as they did in Alma Toran or in the ‘human’ form we see some of them appearing as in the flashback scenes. This ‘lesser’ form takes less magoi and is easier to maintain.
They must remain near to their conqueror and their vessel. The further away the more magoi they require. The range is fairly large and mimics the range in which a household member must be within in order to use their vessel.
The appearance in this form isn’t their real body as that remains in Alma Toran. It’s kind of cross between astral projection and the way the Al Thamen magicians don’t die when you kill them. They are physically present, you can touch them, but the body is a magic construct. If the djinn were to sustain a mortal wound, they would disappear back into their vessel until they are able to recover. They are still able to feel pain, hunger, and the like but they can’t really be killed like this.
In this form, they do have access to their own magic. Paimon, among other species, had abilities before becoming djinn. This differs from the magic the humans possessed. They are able to use these abilities now and any additional magics granted to them by the divine staves. It’s not nearly as powerful as the djinn conqueror’s abilities, however.
Once the djinn are allowed out, Paimon loves coming out and exploring. She spends most of her time with Hakuei, naturally, but likes exploring the rest of Kou. Within the palace, she’s quite the sight to behold. She at least changes her clothes to the outfit she wore in Solomon’s court (which includes a bodice and skirt) since Kou’s dress style is somewhere conservative. She has a penchant for getting into trouble but tries her best not to make things difficult for Hakuei. She is wary however of all the Al Thamen agents roaming around the palace and makes a point to avoid Gyokouen altogether. It would be an awkward interaction, especially considering Paimon can’t say anything about it in front of the humans.

I honestly can't post more random shit on twitter so here's where I'll store my garbage brain reading magi comic
- I SHIP TOTO AND MORGIANA how dare you sink my ship with only like 2 chapters
- finally reached them plot beyond anime adaptation and first thing we learn, someone need to water spray Alibaba's horny ass
- Yunan and Sinbad bicker back and forth...? Must be exes (nod) also Yunan you fucking twink
- but he's an intellectual twink I approve
- kou empire being a commentary on ancient china (even china today) and it's ideology of unification by not accepting diversity but promoting a single culture language and customs that are it's own is not a critique of communism rather colonialism....thank you
- maybe it's too quick to judge but good grief I hate people like koumei the most :( being able to rationalize and institutionalize violation of human rights is a lot scarier than any crazy loony. And it honestly is some 1984 shit going on here
- oh.............................
- Ithnan is a gay baby
- so the story of alma toran, shares the same core idea of Jesus Christ Superstar (jokes aside the discussion of power and divinity is really fucking beautiful
- It is incredibly distracting however that in a magical world deeply rooted in Arabic culture, people have names like Solomon or Sheba or Ugo that the ultimate villain is just called, David. Like some guy from work
- final chapter of the arc looping back to aladdin wishing to be friend with ugo....It's fucking poetic, it's fucking beautiful. The whole alma toran story obviously isn't telling us that Solomon's will is just good, or that he did everything right. Just like he once did, aladdin is now questioning the world's principal and all acting from the base desire of happiness. I don't think my sleep deprived mind grasped or made sense of everything going on here but damn, this is good shit
- I read shonen to feel good about myself and the world because they get cool powers and unconditional friends and most importantly through trial and error they actually win. But damn is it suffocating to read magi (but in a good way), nihilism, existentialism, philosophies I contemplate all day every day being presented in such a way is really, idk, making me sad, just like the real world
- Hakuryuu and Judar's fight against Arba is so fucking good..............and my god all these motherfuckers from Kou are scary. But I just want to hug these two sad boys, which is not saying that I think their thinking is rights or makes sense it's just...you can't blame them, and bitch I relate. Being unable to escape a loop of hate and anger for so long and so much that you internalized it to become something much worse.......and that makes you doubt even more about yourself and the people around you. Which is why therapy is important, at least for me lol.
- SERIOUSLY WHAT IS THIS FUCKING FIGHT????? WHY??????????? WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO EACH OTHER IT'S SO MISERABLE I CANT-
- Aladdin's expression.......INSTANT TEARS
- he's so pure I'm crying
- Sinbad you actual SON OF A BITCH
- SINBADDDD WHAT THE FUCK YOU ARE WHO?????? And putting Sinbad' adventures in his younger days into perspective it's just fucking tragic, if you have to be a piece of shit fine but what about the good people and their good intentions..............
- FUCK I knew one of them is going to die out of the fucking blue and I know I said I hated koumei but, FUCK
- jfc it's so............miserable....................
- human justice change, and as long as we are able to question it, the world would be a better place, and we are able to move forward, to have meaning. I want to hug Hakuryuu until he can't breath.
- oh no kougyoku.......come here that's right Sinbad is a piece of shit
- wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait WHAT
- she..!!! he......!!!!!!! Can she do it to literally anyone furthermore does, does like Ja'far know about......him???!?!????!?!!!????
- damn the opening chapter of the final arc is so beautifully done it's fucking art.
- To think that I was so obsessed with Yunan when I was like 13 first watching Magi anime...he's actually just a sad twink
- they got cars???? They got phones????? They got fucking planes??????? I've only ever seen fantasy + technology as in steampunk but this shit, it's purely magical, and it makes sense holy shit
- the gags in Magi are one of the greatest I swear they are so random
- this is...genius, it's not a conflict of communism and capitalism but rather the culture rooted in Eastern and Western civilizations and the different difficulties they face stepping into this new world.......these two economic system aren't inherently eastern and western either, it's just, cultures, and the conflict created thus.
- and Alibaba are you our socialism icon??
- no wait wtf alibaba WHAT fucking plan is this that's not how, that's not how it works. To introduce a concept previously foreign to the population is not to domesticated it like that...? It suggests that....people can't change, culture can't change, Idk it's kinda worrying. But I do understand, as a temporary measure :/
- ALIBABA. YOU. GREAT. HUMAN. BEING.
- fuck capitalism and monopoly fuck you Sinbad
- this is the scariest shit I've ever seen good grief arba can you not
- I'm going to say it while I still can without being creepy since technically I'm still a teen? Aladdin how is he hot af now
- now that I think more about it Hakuryuu's redemption happens so naturally, it makes me so happy to see the struggle for truth and happiness is achieved through one's reflection, coming to terms with mistakes. Again this shit is fucking beautiful.
- Alibaba Keanu Reeves Saluja ("no, you're amazing"
- YUNANNNNNNNNN NOOOOOOOO
- I fucking love Yunan I just really like this character ever since the first time I watched magi for some strange reason and NOW NOOOOOOOO WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BOY
- Hakuryuu could be in a infomercial about insects repellant by now things would be much easier if you know his arms could stop getting bit/stung by snake/scorpion
- "can I have an Apple now Mr driver" ALADDIN YOU BIG FLIRT I WILL DIE WITH THIS SHIP and damn his change is even more oblivious put next to Alibaba
- crybaby Hakuryuu.....they all changed but hasn't at the same time I'm crying
- is Hakuryuu me?????????? Crying all night after getting wasted
- two minutes after I said I'll die with the ship....the ship died, bye everybody
- just kidding Alibaba and Mor as so sweet it's just I really ship Aladdin and alibaba....I get more and more estranged feeling as I keep reading because it's not silly, feel-good adventures anymore, "少年漫" 里面的 "少年感" 被渐渐冲淡了因为真实世界比魔法对决宏大多了. I mean, it doesn't seem real that Alibaba and Mor are getting married, I still see them as hot headed companions that are teens going for their dreams against a whole unkind world, it just doesn't seem real. But not in remotely any bad way, it's me who hasn't grown up, I guess.
- that said you guys can really just start with, a relationship? Ya know???? "Lets become husband and wife" I can't take this it's too fast lmao
- NO STOP PUTTING ALADDIN AND KOUGYOKU TOGETHER I DONT LIKE IT (they are both lovely people I just don't like it#!!!!!!! They had zero chemistry#!!#!!#!!!!!!!! It's weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I refuse everyone's getting fucking married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- stop.......being..........so.............full of yourself, sinbad
- what, the, fuck, is, going, on
- what
- the
- fuck
-Sinbad

Honestly though, I think I’ve mentioned this before but...
It’s not that Paimon’s suicidal or something like that, but she wants to die. She took her position as a djinn because it was the best course of action, the only way to save her people and allow them to move into the new world. And she was happy to be able to help. But for someone who’s entire culture thrived off close familial relations and passion, solitary confinement is the worst punishment. (actually, it’s pretty terrible punishment for normal people) She slept for most of it, like a coma, but when her dungeon was raised she was awoken. At first it was kind of fun, watching arrogant humans try to take her power. But after a while, she was lonely again. Hakuei came along and she was happy again. But the world Hakuei loved was beginning to take the same path as Alma Toran. And then Hakuei was taken over by Arba, and David began to appear. Suddenly she was reliving the end of her world over again but this time she couldn’t do anything.
She was glad to see that everything worked out, that everything was going to be okay. But at this point, she’s so tired and worn out. She wants to be reunited with her people, a feeling she’s had for a long time. Dying is the only way to do that. Her people believed in a type of heaven, a peaceful place where souls go once they have been released from the world.

Hello Ele! Don't you think it's strange that Sheba wasn't in the same place as Setta, Wahid and Tess? I've been thinking and I'm starting to believe that Sheba and Alibaba are connected somehow (and when Wahid and Setta commented that Alibaba reminds someone, I think they're talking about her too). That would make a lot of sence in the story imo (also, looking back at the Alma Toran ar, the personallity of both is pretty similar). What do you think about it? Greetings from Brazil! :~
@mahou-shoujo-ageha said:Hello! Sorry if this has been brought up before (I might have missed it) but do you have any theory regarding why Sheba isn't with Tess and the others in that dimension? I mean, she died in Alma Toran so logically, she should be with them, right? Do you think there's something behind her absence?
Hello!! :D
Mmm… when Setta and Wahid commented that Alibaba reminded them of someone, I think they were actually talking about David (since David and Alibaba were the only ones who didn’t stop believing they would come back to life).
I personally don’t think there is a strong connection between those two, but as to why Sheba wasn’t in that space, I actually wonder if she went back to Solomon, or if “she” is with Aladdin right now via her rukh.
Speaking of Aladdin… I’m quite worried about him right now… .

Magi and Princess Tutu for the fandom thing
Magi
The character I least understandDavid, at this point. I just no idea what is going on in his head anymore or why he’s doing what he is.
Interactions I enjoyed the mostAlma Toran’s group before David ruined it. They looked like one big family and it was nice seeing the way they supported and believed in each other.
The character who scares me the mostMadaura, I supposed. There are honestly people like her out in the world and that thought makes me uneasy. What she did was just awful. Also Arba because she’s just unpredictable.
The character who is mostly like meI’m not sure… Aladdin maybe?
Hottest looks characterSolomon, hands down.
One thing I dislike about my fave characterI have more than one, so I’ll just go with Hakuryuu? The fact that he puts expectations on people’s shoulders and gets upset when they’re broken. I mean, not everyone’s gonna be the way he wants them to be. At least he’s overcoming this, though. Which I’m glad.
One thing I like about my hated characterI don’t really have a character I hate like I think this question is asking me for. I do dislike Sinbad to a certain degree, so I guess for him it’s that he does care about his people and acts on his beliefs of what he thinks is right.
A quote or scene that haunts meDavid’s killings in Alma Toran and his reasoning behind it… Believe it or not, there are people in the world that kill just because they feel it’s what they should do.
A death that left me indifferentGyokuen’s, I suppose. Because Arba was residing in her body for most of the story up to when she destroyed the body, we never really got to see what kind of person Gyokuen really was. Just hints from how Arba acted while pretending to be her.
A character I wish died but didn’tAlibaba’s, I suppose. Not because I don’t like him, rather that it would have been a great shock and made for an interesting twist. Plus, it would better help Aladdin understand how Sinbad feels if it were someone really close to him that died (much like a lot of people in Sindria 1.0 died). It would also be interesting what he’d do should Alibaba have actually died.
my ship that never sailedHakuMor
Princess Tutu
The character I least understandThe prince. Although we got glimpses of the kind of person he really was and then at the end when he got his heart pieces back, there really wasn’t much to keep me from connecting with him.
Interactions I enjoyed the mostFakir and Ahiru. It was nice to see them going from enemies, to neutral, to really close friends.
The character who scares me the mostI guess the closest one would be Drosselmeyer.
The character who is mostly like meNot sure, exactly. Haha… I wonder who.
Hottest looks characterRaetsel, I suppose. She’s really pretty.
One thing I dislike about my fave characterFakir’s too set on doing things on his own, which often times makes him controlling.
One thing I like about my hated characterThis boy sure has a lot of self confidence in him, I’ll give him that.
A quote or scene that haunts meThis whole story, tbh. The way it’s all “A story within a story” theme that makes one question whether what’s going on is really reality or simply a story being wrote by a higher being in their own liking.
A death that left me indifferentWait, were there deaths in this? Fakir’s parents then, I suppose.
A character I wish died but didn’tI don’t know.
my ship that never sailedFakiru (I think that’s the ship name). I can dream though.

Sinbad no Bouken 139 RAW + a Summary!
Here are the raws for Sinbad no Bouken 139 and a summary! Falan tells Sinbad about the true nature of destiny according to her. But how will he react? :O
Just a reminder, to anyone who follows me and enjoys these raws/summaries, parts of or even all of these summaries could be completely wrong, so be advised as you read them as I am by no means a professional translator!
*** Disclaimer : Sinbad no Bouken is not my work. Please be sure to vote for Sinbad no Bouken every day on the MangaOne app if you have it!
This chapter begins with Falan again telling Sinbad that he should “know the truth”. The truth being, the true meaning of the “destiny” that rules their world. She also says they will discuss his role in this world. We then see that Ja’far and the others have left the room. Mystras asks Ja’far if it’s okay to leave them alone and, after a moment, Ja’far replies that Sinbad said it was fine, so they should abide by his wishes.
The scene then switches back to Sinbad and Falan’s conversation, with Falan apologizing for Sinbad having to go to the trouble of clearing out the room. She then tells him that it actually helps her a lot that he did this, since what she’s about to say is hard for ordinary people to grasp, and therefore, she only wanted to speak with him about it. But Sinbad explains that, actually, he just thought it was not something they had to bother listening to, so he sent them on their way. He adds that it seems like she has something serious she needs to talk about and asks if he’s wrong about that. After a moment, Falan smirks and comments how she expected him to say that and that she’s glad she chose to talk with him. After a few moments of silence, Sinbad asks what she meant by that. But Falan replies that she meant exactly what she said and that she’s been interested in him ever since she met him in the Valfor dungeon. She says that at that time, she did the right thing by using her magic to test his ability. After a moment, she realizes that he must still be angry about that incident. But Sinbad replies that there’s no way he’d still be upset over such a thing now and then quickly changes the subject back to what she was talking about before. He asks her “what” exactly he was chosen to talk with her about.
She answers that she would like him to become the key that releases their world from destiny. Upon hearing this, Sinbad tells Falan that he can’t understand what she’s saying and asks what exactly “destiny” is. She replies that “destiny” is the “flow of a great will”. She explains that there exists a pure flow of will in their world and that although many people “seem” to have their own feelings, thoughts and actions, in reality, they are all simply thriving within that great flow. She adds that it is the system of their world and that they cannot resist it. She then asks him, what if that flow was actually something that was “created” and is being “controlled” by someone? Sinbad seems stunned by this thought, and Falan continues to ask him whether he’d ever considered it. She then vigorously asks if he’s ever questioned people’s destiny, why people are born, why loved ones die and why people suffer and mourn? She asks him, what if it was actually a fake path created within that fabricated system. Falan then grabs Sinbad’s shoulders, pulls him close and with a grave look on her face, she asks him, if that were to be the case, would he still be willing to believe in this “prison called destiny” that someone else created and dominates. After a short pause, she states that she will not recognize that sort of fabricated life. She goes on to say that she will absolutely not allow to exist, this world where joy, suffering and even a person’s death is determined by “destiny”. She then clenches Sinbad’s shoulder once more and tells him that he is different. She explains that he is a “special existence” that was born with a huge amount of magical power and the ability to see “destiny”. She says that for someone to deviate from “destiny” within destiny’s flow, that’s what is means to be a “singularity”. She tells him that he’s an existence that has an untold ability to possibly liberate their world from “destiny”.
Upon hearing all this, Sinbad repeats the word, “singularity”, and Falan repeats once more that it means he was naturally born with an ability to oppose destiny. She then once again asks him, quite forcefully, if he plans to continue to live in accordance to this “destiny” and asks if he really doesn’t want to break away from destiny and achieve “true freedom”? She tells him that this is possible for a “singularity” like him. After a few moments, Sinbad tells her to wait a moment. He tells her that he honestly cannot understand her story and, on top of that, she’s acting a bit crazy. However, he states that she doesn’t seems to be lying and that he’s strangely intrigued in her story. He adds that she doesn’t seem to be any ordinary magician and wonders why she knows all of that. He then asks her, who she really is.
And that’s all for this chapter. I’ve been pretty busy this week, but I’m glad I had enough time to do this! Hmmm, so I guess this means that Falan had much more of an impact on Sinbad than we had imagined. We know that Sinbad had some kind of understanding of Alma Toran when he heard Aladdin’s story in Magi, so maybe this is where he initially learns about it? I’m curious to see just how much Falan tells him next chapter.
On another note, the extra content released with this chapter is a comic with the results of last week’s Valentine’s day chocolate count. In Japan, fans will send chocolate, addressed to specific characters, to the authors of their favorite manga. This picture is only a small part of the overall comic, but I don’t have time right now to translate the whole thing. ^^; I’ll do it a bit later, if it’s not already done by the time I get to it. In the meantime, here’s the results! I hope you enjoy! ^^b
February 14th, Valentine’s Day: Thank you very much!!
#1: Ja’far! (I got the most!?)
#2: Sinbad (Thank you, lovely ladies!)
#3: Mystras ( UOOOOHH CHOCOLAAATE!!) / Serendine (I appreciate it!)

Magi 344 Spoilers
Warning: As usual, please note that my level of Japanese is basic at most, and this is just a translation of text summaries available online, so I cannot guarantee that the following snippets are accurate. In other words, these can be just rumors or misinterpretations, and I might have left some parts out because I didn’t understand them. Feel free to share the link, but please DO NOT REPOST, and don’t forget to support the official releases!!
In which Alibaba discusses his situation with Wahid, Setta, and Tess, and we find out more about David.
Status: Confirmed
Chapter title is something like “It was all groundwork”.
We start with Alibaba once again mentioned that while he was “dead”, he was taken to this weird dimension. At first, he did not understand why.
Back to the flashback, Alibaba anxiously thinks to himself just what is going on? Wasn’t he fighting Hakuryuu just a moment ago?! Setta asks him to calm down, adding that he is already dead.
Alibaba denies this, though in his internal monologue says he does not feel his body. He wonders where this place is, who exactly this people are (Alibaba, didn’t you just say they were the guys from Aladdin’s story?).
Tess finally speaks up, asking Alibaba if he also is someone who died in Alma Toran. Alibaba is surprised, but quickly adds if this is the afterlife? And if so, where are his parents? Meanwhile, Setta does say that he does not look like someone from Alma Toran.
Wahid once again mentions that it is not possible to get out of there, but while Alibaba despairs about not wanting to die yet, Setta quickly reminds him that there was one person who did it and revived. Yes, they are talking about David, and we see a brief flashback in which he thanks them for their deaths, calling them the “groundwork”.
Back to the current flashback, Wahid states that he was scared. Until then, he had thought of David as an awful person who took delight in the reactions of others to this atrocities, just a fanatic... but he realized he was mistaken, that he was one to absolutely do what he believed in. He was different from them; as Setta puts it, he was the embodiment of “fate”. For him, the slaughtering of everyone in Alma Toran was nothing more than a means to achieve a bigger goal. Comrades, family... meant nothing.
Alibaba (in a different scene I think) says he wants to stop him, though Wahid quickly says it’s not possible to escape the dimension they are in. Setta adds that unfortunately, he is there. I don’t completely understand his next phrase, but he says something like he will become like them in this space with infinite time and the memories of the past.
While Alibaba despairs, Wahid muses that this is weird... why is Alibaba so energetic? The moment they arrive to that place, their feelings of wanting to revive completely disappeared. He says this in a rather “playful” tone, and Setta responds in a similar fashion.
That is that for now, as the spoilers have not been updated.
I’m glad we get to see more of what actually happened during Alibaba’s trip to Il Ilah’s dimension, but this has turned out to be way crueler than expected. At least we know he leaves the trio in good terms, but... .

When the only reason Morgiana isn’t together with the main four currently in the final arc is because she hasn’t Fallen into Depravity like Judar and Hakuryuu, wasn’t killed off and sent to another dimension like Alibaba, isn’t directly from Alma Toran like Aladdin, and is under influence because she has some normalcy to her. But hey, let’s forget the fact that, despite how others who were told their thoughts were being controlled by Sinbad gave no shits because “no way would Sinbad do that to them”, Morgiana actually tried to break out of the will Sinbad forced on everyone and wanted to join Alibaba and Aladdin despite it being against what Sinbad forced on her.
Oh, but wait, she and Alibaba are together now and they aren’t fighting in this more peaceful time where words are more powerful than fists, so she must have been forgotten or Ohtaka doesn’t care for her. She’s always wanted a peaceful life where she and her precious people are happy and she’s actually getting it? Wow, how dare she have her wishes come true. This is such poor writing of a good character. Morgiana is no longer great, just “Alibaba’s Woman” for wanting to settle down, and all her character development went down the drain because she’s not a special nutcase like the others and throwing fists left and right.
Shame on Ohtaka. Shame on her for not making Morgiana completely unaffected by everything because Plot Armor. Shame on her for not leaving her only useful trait being Able to Be Paired Up With Any Guy/Girl in the Series. God doesn’t Ohtaka know better to leave Morgiana as an overpowered lil shit who’s only good To Be Paired Up With Someone because Screw That She’s another Character With Good Character Development and Balanced Design, obviously that means nothing because females are only good for shipping with favorite characters and projecting ourselves onto to pretend we’re the gods of the series.
Ugh, just how dare Morgiana not be with the guy I wanted her to end up with or unaffected Sinbad because obviously she should have immunity to it for no special reason.
((I’m sorry, I’m so sour right now because this is what I’ve been seeing a lot and I really don’t like it. I don’t mean to target anyone specifically. I just wish really wish people didn’t write Morgiana over like this))
#god i'm so tired of people writing her off#just because she got her wish to settle down and be with someone who cares for her#actually cares for her#or because she's not with the four#like are people really gonna count her as a poorly written character#just because she's not some special badass like the four guys??#like what reason would she have to not be affected#by sinbad's overwriting of the rukh??#really with how it turned out#its not as if she doesn't want ot join the fight or anything#she's still great#please ;;;#chyemmi

So basically, Hakuryuu's death scythe is actually a gateway to il llah's body? And just like the dungeons, there's a time paradox in there, which makes it look like as if a 1000 years have passed however IRL, only a few months or years or even minutes have passed (judging by how he almost immediately met up with Judar after he "died"). So it's basically the same gateway to where the "fallen souls" go to when they die? No wonder Beilal or Ugo knew the power of the synthe!
It certainly looks that way, though it’s a gateway to the dimension where Il Ilah is sealed, rather than to its body. So I guess we could say his scythe “seals” souls, hence why Alibaba was technically still “alive” yet severed from the world?
I wonder if all “fallen souls” are there, though. If that were the case, Mogamett should had been there, right? But Alibaba never mentioned him, nor was he hinted in any way. I’d suppose these are people from Alma Toran only, but Wahid did mention something like “oh, a newcomer?”, so maybe it is possible?

So for the character meme, what do you think about Solomon? I'm really curious, I really like your answers and your blog as well. :D
Solomon Jehoahaz Abraham
((omg thank you so much for this ask i love you like I nearly screamed in happiness because yes finally I can talk about him again))
First impression: “Holy hell it’s him! It’s him! Aladdin’s dad afkjlDJFKLWJAFDA I LOVE YOU ALREADY” I don’t know what expectations I had for him but two panels in and he’s already exceeded all of them. He seems like one of those nerd charactersw with a snarky and sarcastic attitude. Honestly I love him already and please give me some nice angst.
Impression now: “THIS IS NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR WHERE’S THE BACK BUTTON CRTL + Z PLEASE”
I knew he was gonna have some sort of harsh life where he would come to a really tragic end but wow I didn’t expect him to die like he did. To be perfectly honestly, I feel like his former friends - those who joined Al Thamen - grew to hate him only because the truth was too much for them to handle and the only way they could cope was to blame everything on him. I mean, they all fought together to change the irrational world and overcome the destiny Ill Illah made for them, in which they ultimately would suffer in order for the world to move forward.Yet, when they finally achieved this goal, suddenly they decided they didn’t want it and reverted back to worshiping the very god who imprisoned them in such a fate. They fought against being enslaved to destiny yet ironically caged themselves in it.
Which is perhaps one of the bigger reasons that I’ve come to love Solomon so much. He had the charisma to attract others for his cause, but not the leadership skills that would keep everyone in order. Despite risking his life so everyone could live equally and at peace, he was still betrayed by those he’d wanted to protect. There is so much to his character, more than I ever thought could be. I think Ohtaka did a splendid job on him, despite how she had to rush his arc to an end *coughthanksyoushittyfansforendingthisarcsoquicklycough*
As much as I’d love to see more of him, I also hope this character will be able to find peace in the end. He’s been through a lot, done all he could, and he deserves a satisfying end.
Favorite moment:
Honestly this whole arc
The moment Solomon appeared and rescued Sheba. Despite only being two chapters in and just introduced to his character, I immediately knew I was gonna enjoy this arc and him. I’ve waited for a long time for this arc and the way it began was beautiful. :’)
Idea for a story: Adventures of Solomon and Sheba, together with Aladdin. An alternate universe in which Solomon hadn’t died and Aladdin was born in Alma Toran. What his life would’ve been like together with his parents, who actually have no clue how to raise children and struggle with parenthood + running the world. Maybe have a little adventure of his own with Tessa and Arba, to give him that experience and time to develop away from his parents, and grow into a powerful and beloved person :’)
idk i suck at this but i just want at least a small family moment because i love this family a lot and just. let Aladdin be happy and content
Unpopular opinion: Solomon actually has horrible leadership skills and knows only the few things David taught him on ruling, which he never relies on. He’s never wanted to be king and never gave it any thought, so when he was made to become one it became a mess.
Favorite relationship: with Ugo
I see them a lot like brothers. They’re always supporting each other. I love how Solomon is always praising Ugo for his brains and believes him to be the strongest magician. While Ugo, despite not knowing it, actually is the reassurance for Solomon in his views and believes through the research he conducts. While they may deny this about themselves, both are amazing magicians and individuals overall, and the beautiful friendship they share is heartwarming.
Favorite headcanon: Solomon isn’t actually dead. His consciousness still remains in the form of the white Rukh which makes up the world. While he does not have the ability to directly intervene in the world and/or manifest himself, he does still watch over it (and especially over Aladdin).
((again thank you so much for this ask I really really loved answering it! I’m so happy to know that you enjoy my blog and my responses, and please know that I’m always excited to do this! you’re truly a great person and it’s really fun being able to answer these (´//°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥//◡//°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥//`) ♡))
#solomon jehoahaz abraham#give me a character meme#he is one of my top 3 favorites#i love him so much i cry#bless this character#i'm curious to know what you think of him as well :0#*sparkly wishful eyes*#zeildoa#chyemmi responds
