Tumblr media
I personally think its disgusting of what she posted yet again its all about her and she the reason why micheal keeps trending 4th day oh please he was trending for days before she came in the picture. And for someone who has no career and basically living off her parter who works so hard and been ill with virus the last few days and haven't been able to perform and she post this. Taking the credit for something that has nothing to do with her. He very grateful that she keep him grounded what that suppose to mean ? He was doing better before she came in the picture since he been with her his career have been slowed a little and she probably the reason for it
What do u say ?
Oh, boy. I saw this a little while ago, and all I could think was that the bar is so low at this point--like halfway between the fourth and fifth circles of Hell--and this still somehow falls short.
I know there has been a lot of talk about the t-shirt Anna is wearing (which was a gift from a fan at the stage door of Nye), but for me, the t-shirt is the least concerning part of all this. It's a reference to a quote from Staged (it's the title of a season 1 episode, in fact), and I am sure Michael found it funny. The only problem is that without the context of why it's a joke, it actually just isn't that funny. And it sets the stage for everything else that is happening.
Which brings me to the caption she wrote, which was what primarily caught my attention. The reason Michael is currently trending on Twitter (X, whatever we're calling it) is because of the overwhelmingly positive response to The Assembly, which aired last Friday night. He is receiving a tremendous amount of praise for being on the show, how he spoke to the interviewers, and the respectful and joyous atmosphere that was cultivated on the show. And rather than allude to any of that--not to mention Michael being sick recently, or the trip they went on to Disneyland Paris--Anna made Michael trending on Twitter about her.
That is what stands out to me the most. The idea of "keeping him grounded" that is coming across more like kicking someone when he is already down. That he somehow needs that, and that she would have us believe he is "grateful" to her for, what...comparing him to a loud bird? Repeatedly making fun of his looks and interests without a shred of respect or affection behind it? I'm also confused by the implication (and the irony) that Michael somehow has a large ego that needs to be kept in check when she is the one coming across as self-involved in this Insta story. So, yes. I'm at a bit of loss here.
I just keep thinking of the things she could have said instead. How she could have uplifted Michael, wished him well on returning to the stage tonight after several days' absence, said how she was glad to have spent time with him or taken care of him while he was ill. Just something that would give him a reason to hold his head high. But I guess it might just be easier to convince herself/everyone else that he is smiling if his head is hanging down instead.
I am just glad Michael is out performing again tonight and getting to be on stage and do the thing he truly loves to do. But those are my thoughts, and I'd be glad to hear from my followers about what you think, regardless of whether you agree or disagree...

Hello so I have a question that I have been meaning to ask about for probably 2 days but what would happen if the brothers from your au (Beloved little brother AU) met my Troll au (One of the au about the infected au but mines a little different) my au isn't really in any app where you could ready cause I only use it when making up stories in my mind... I never write them cause I'm not a good writer... Anyways here's the version of branch in my AU (If you have any questions because this is kind off confusing then pls ask because I really wanna know how the brothers would react to this little au of mine)
Ok... someone dared him to go to the forest with a spear just incase the creature (The one that's supposed to be a myth lurking in the deep dark forest at night...which carries around a virus a dangerous one) is actually real...and stay in the forest for 2 hours....he never came back and went missing for 2 weeks...when they found him he looked different and acted more hostile... He was covered in blood... It didn't look like all of it was his... The thing they got disturbed the most was the Bite mark that had black veins growing.... Whatever happened in that forest and the days he was missing must have made him crazy with paranoia, anxiety, fear, and worry... he was still holding the spear he brought... it was covered in blood... his friends (The snack pack) surrounded him trying to reassure him that everything is going to be ok... but stepping forward towards him while he was near an edge of a cliff was really a bad idea... he must of been hallucinating from the way he looked at them... the last step back he took made him slip and fall from the cliff which he landed on spikes below piercing his body.... killing him...
But I saw how you don't like the idea of branch dying so let's change that to extremely injured if that makes it any better...
Note: he is grey with few scratches and bruises but the main problem in the Bute mark where he is infected... But considering we changed his fate to getting killed to extremely injured he would be contained in a containment room...
P.S: the reason why he went crazy is in the explanation... He didn't wanna kill or infected anyone else....
Effect/Symptoms: aggressive... Hungry... Crazy/insane...and hostile.... And other effects/symptoms (Cannibalism...)
That's all sorry if this is long...
John had a plan, he went for his other brothers, they would get Branch back and if necessary they would take him to Vacay Island where they could take care of him and keep him safe like they were supposed to do.
He went to Bruce first, he found him through the postcard; It was crazy to find out that he was married and had 13 kids, that was a shock to John; Then they went for Floyd, they were at one of his concerts, it was magnificent; finding Clay was more difficult, it took them 3 days to find Clay, it was a strange encounter, since they had to deal with Princess Viva, they didn't even know that she was not with the rest of the Trolls, she decided to go with them to find her sister Poppy, they were about to leave her alone because Viva was hesitant at the entrance of the sanctuary, John just wanted to go look for his baby brother, he didn't want him to be any further away from his siblings, his family who wanted him safe, but Viva he was making it FUCKING hard for them, he didn't like the girl for it, he could even see that Clay was upset with his "friend" for it.
So they arrived at Pop Village, they talked to some trolls but every time they talked about their Little Brother they went the other way, many ran in the opposite direction shouting for a Poppy, Viva got excited when she heard the name sister, she was alive and that made her made me very happy.
But they were in panic, worried and scared to death, afraid that their little brother would not be here, that it would be late and he would be... Gone.
But then Poppy arrived and a group of friends with a very stupid name approached them, King Peppy was with them, it was a nice family meeting between members of royalty, but Brozone just wanted to find his little brother, see him, hug him. just keep it safe.
When they asked about Branch, he could see how they smiled and all the joy was erased from their faces, Viva looked confused by that, Floyd sobbed by that.
John felt cold, while Bruce and Clay tried to calm Floyd down.
Poppy jumped up and said that Branch was alive and well, as far as he could be, that he was sick, and that they couldn't see him.
John told him that they were brothers, that they were his brothers, that they needed to see him.
One of Poppy's friends pointed to Floyd and asked him if he was Floyd, he obviously said yes and although Peppy didn't seem like he wanted to take them to Branch, Poppy did.
He took them to a bunker, his little brother's bunker, Branch's home, he showed them some rooms, those rooms screamed their names everywhere, just like the rooms at Grandma's house, Branch had copied the rooms, waiting for them to They came back, and now they are here, they just had to apologize and everything would be fine.
He took them to a deep place in the bunker, it was a large room and what looked like a large glass with small holes at the top for air and an even smaller door in which there was a broken plate with food lying around, it was dark at the end. , they couldn't see anything.
And then they saw a tail, John recognized that lock of hair, how many times did he not have to untangle the hair and that lock in the tail when Branch played on the branch at his house, always getting covered in leaves.
Floyd ran towards the glass, drawing Branch's attention, they went after him when something crashed against the glass with force. Clay fell to the floor from shock, Bruce walked away gasping and covering his mouth.
Floyd didn't move, his hands were still on the glass, he was pale, shaking and crying without saying a sound; John was at his side reeling in shock.
Poppy explains that Branch went to the forest because something or someone was being violent, a lot of trolls were scared because someone almost hit them, and Branch went to take care of it, and he didn't come back for 2 weeks, when they went to look for him they found him out of his mind, bathed in blood and that it was not his, at least not all of it, with a big bite on his arm, he was more paranoid than ever, he was violent and he was lashing out, they had to knock him out to bring him here, it was a room where Branch put aggressive animals wounded, where Branch would care for them and then release them.
John wasn't listening to her, he could only see his little brother, his sweet and innocent little brother, he looked bad.
His eyes that were so big and cheerful were cloudy, his pupil covered almost his entire eye, he could barely see the beautiful blue that was once there, his hair was a chaos, his teeth were all fangs and his skin, his arms were full. from a bite, and his mouth had blood.
His brother looked like a wild animal...
He had been eating himself, refusing to eat anything but meat, and even meat sometimes didn't feed him, or so Poppy said.
Branch was banging on the glass when he heard her speak, screaming like an angry animal.
"Branch..." Floyd spoke to him, and Branch stood still as an entrance, just looking at Floyd, and looking at the others, at Clay on the floor crying, at Bruce and John Dory.
"..YOU...ARE BACK..." Branch was smiling, tapping on the glass, John could ignore the blood and wounds; he would swear his baby brother was excited to see them, that he was happy to see his older siblings; as if this were normal
"Yes Branch, we're back." John put his hand on the glass, and his brother's bloody, clawed hand rests on top of his, smiling at his brothers.
I needed to write that, and I love seeing more of your Au, I'm not such a fan of the Infected stories that you've been doing, sometimes I don't understand the story because I lose the thread, so I don't understand them much (but I am a fan of the zombies), so I needed to write something because I like your work!
Well continuing with this, the brothers moved to the bunker (except Bruce who came and stayed for 2 weeks and then returned to Vacay Island), they took care of Branch, John Dory got a muzzle, because one time they tried to get him out of the cage ; They were furious, how dare they put their little brother in a cage like an animal, they are their brothers, they can handle it; So John got a muzzle, because he almost bit Clay when they tried to get him out, and with the muzzle it was easier, they healed his wounds and made sure he looked better.
Bruce fed him, but they had to tie him in an iron chair because the wooden one destroyed it easily, then it was difficult to feed him, because Branch refused, and he started biting his arms again, Bruce realized that Branch liked it. blood, so he started drawing blood with a syringe and a bag, when John Dory found out he did it himself and Floyd and Clay joined in, Branch looked like a child who was given his favorite milkshake when they served him a glass.
And then it was the food, he didn't eat anything, John Dory hunted animals and gave them to Branch, raw, because he didn't seem to like it cooked or sewn, and then he accidentally killed someone, John was shooting a fleet to hunt a small animal for his little brother's breakfast tomorrow, when someone passed by, it was dark, he didn't see it, but it wouldn't be his first death, but it would get him in trouble if someone found out, so he took him to the bunker, he had a fight with his brothers for bringing the corpse, and then, they don't know how Branch got loose, but Branch threw himself on the body, his brothers moved away by instinct, they could never be afraid of their baby brother, and Branch looked so happy eating the poor unknown troll , that they couldn't take that joy away from him, it was sad that some trolls disappeared, but his little brother needed to eat, no one can blame them for wanting to take care of his brother.
No one was allowed to enter the bunker, not Snack Pack, not Viva, Peppy, and much less Queen Poppy.
They don't mind killing as long as their brother can eat and be happy, he's calm when he has meat so he's easy to deal with, Floyd keeps saying it's like dealing with Branch when he was 2 years old.
They are his brothers.
They know how to take care of it...
This was what I had to post, and now it turns out that I deleted a previous question for the wrong answer and two more for deleting the wrong post, it's a sign of what my life will be like in my new cycle at the university (I have to come back on Monday god I have a headache)
And your owner is Au I would like to know more!

So you mentioned Scourge being self aware about the Genesis wave, and that you have your own au about that.
As someone who is also a huge fan of this concept, I politely ask that you tell me more about that.
AAAOKAYOKAY WAIT aAaAAA I LOEBV YIU So it starts off at the end of the prison breakout comic, the part where we were left on a cliffhanger but we were able to assume that Scourge had a BIG arc ahead of him if we were able to see what happened next, and once Scourge is done announcing how him and the destructix(+ Fiona) have a new set of plans, something happens. Everything and everyone freezes in place, not changing positions, not moving, not even blinking. Expect for Scourge.
At first Scourge is confused and assumes the gang are playing a trick on him and is like “Can y'all like STOP I'll kill you bro wtf r u doing” but then soon goes to realize that this happened to literally EVERYTHING. Everyone he knows isn't moving a bit, and he is SO confused. He slowly begins to actually like, understand what's happening?? But he doesn't at the same time.. Like, he has no idea why everyone is frozen but he knows they are, and he knows that time itself is probably frozen. So this dumbass is like okay whatever but then days go by and he's just alone, stuck with that haunting reminder that everyone is frozen and it can't be fixed, expect for him.
He’s forced to witness everyone ignore him, and he is unable to do SHIT. Constantly being alone.. Alone with himself.
As years go by, he starts to lose personality, going insane as the fabric of reality crumbles in on itself. Desperate to the point where he'd even want to see SONIC of all people,
Until something finally happens.
As he's miserably walking by himself, he notices something. A torn hole, seemingly in nothing. Like, he's strolling through the same forest he and the Destructix were in and he just notices that a random thing Is just floating. It starts to expand, growing like a virus as it consumes everything in its path. Scourge tries to avoid it, but due to how desperate he's gotten for a change, he gives in and goes into it.
Suddenly, he's in a black void with cyan mixed with it. Kinda like this:
Tumblr media
And he's just FLABBERGASTED. He's walking around, stunned, and his appearance itself has changed(still haven't made a design yet, but I will soon), although he can't bring himself to muster up any care for that not only because of the fact that he's been isolated for a decade but because he notices something in front of him, a floating little box type thing that, when he looks into, has something .. SOMEBODY inside.
It's the sonic universe right now, mainly IDW, and in that box he comes across Surge. He looks at her, and suddenly everything hits like a train. He becomes self aware, finally realizing what happened and stares at his replacement, lifeless yet filled with rage. Meanwhile he's still alone, the others cannot see him and don't know that he's watching, but Scourge is there.
Observing in the black, cybernetic type void, cold and lonely, but also, deep down inside of him,
He's enraged.

True Love | Leon Kennedy X reader
Summary: Who will Leon Kennedy choose, a woman that only used him to get what she wanted or a woman who actually loved him since day one?
Characters: Y/N L/N, Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N’S POV
We had just come back from China. Everyone just wanted to go back to normal, but that was going to be harder than what we had thought. Captain Chris Redfield lost his second in command, Piers Nivans. Since then, he still hasn’t spoken a word to anyone. I’ve been with Chris since the STARS unit in Raccoon City. Ever since then I’ve been by his side, for everything that he has gone through. I saw Piers join and I was there when Chris made him his second in command, he asked me first, but I refused because I didn’t think I was ready I was glad that he gave it to Piers, he really deserved it.
“Hey captain, I will do anything I can to keep you safe and no matter what, I will do anything that I can to help you with whatever you want.” I say to him, to try to at least reassure him.
“I appreciate that Y/N” he replies.
His reply made me smile, “Finally, he said something.”
“A Leon Kenndy is on the line,” our pilot announces.
“I’ll talk to him, Captain.” I say to Chris, he just nods.
“Hey Leon, it's been a long time, what can I do for you?” I ask
“Yes, yes it has, nice to hear from you Y/N, is Chris there?” he asks
“Uh he’s not feeling well at the moment, did you want to tell him something?” I question
“Is he okay? Did something happen to him?” he asks, panicking
“Oh, he’s fine, I really don't think I’m the one that should be telling you, but he lost someone in the underwater facility.” I tell him
“Oh uh, well I just wanted to tell him thank you for helping Jake and Sherry from the underwater facility, but since you said that then maybe don’t tell him.”
“I’m sure he’ll be okay in due time, but don’t worry I’ll tell him when he’s ready, or I’m pretty sure he knows already if he’s listening.” I say chuckling while looking at Chris, knowing that he has been listening the whole time.
“Oh well if that’s the case then, Hey Chris, thank you for helping Jake and Sherry and I am sorry for your loss.” Leon tells Chris. I turn to see him, and I finally see a faint smile on my captain.
“Thank you, Leon.”
“For what? I didn’t do anything.” he asks confused
“You did, you just don’t know what, either way thank you. We’re about to land so we have to let you go. I’ll see you soon, Leon.” I say
“See you soon, Y/N” he replies, hanging up.
“We’ll be okay Chris, I loved him like a brother, I miss him too, but I know we’ll be okay.” I say to him
He just nods his head with a small smile and gets ready to move off the plane. I as well start grabbing my stuff and start to leave. I can’t help but think about Leon. I’ve known him ever since the Raccoon incident. I was with him when he came stumbling into the STARS office in RPD.
He was really injured when he came in. The licker that was just outside the door had scratched him badly, and he was bleeding so much. I helped stitch him up. He looked so innocent back then, he’s changed so much.
I’ll admit, going through the horrors of Raccoon City together made me develop feelings for him, but I know he didn’t feel the same because of one woman that he met after me, Ada Wong.
A mercenary acting like a federal agent to get her hands on the G-virus. Manipulating Leon just for a virus she could sell, and yet, he still fell for her. It hurt me, seeing them kiss before we had to leave for Umbrella's facility. When we found Claire and Sherry, I saw how sad he was that he had lost Ada, since then I kept my feelings for him on the down low, focusing on my training and on my missions.
I hadn’t realized that I spaced out while sitting at the edge of the plane when a voice spoke out to me.
“Thinking about him, huh?” Chris says
“What are you talking about?” I reply
“You know exactly what I’m talking about, Y/N” he says, “I know it’s hard to love someone knowing they love someone else; I know it is Y/N”
“He was my first love, Chris. I loved him more than she ever did, but he still goes pinning after her like some lost puppy. It really hurts. But it’s fine, I shouldn't be worrying about this, there are more things to worry about than my love life right now.” I say to him with a small smile
“Come on Y/N, it's fine to talk about these things.”
“Can we just drop it, nothing will come out of it. This won’t change his feelings towards me. He will always love her, no matter what I do”
“Alright, get up soldier, we have stuff to do.” he says in a somewhat demanding voice.
I get up with ease and solute him.
“Yes sir.” I replied.
Time skip to where Vendetta takes place
“What the hell were you thinking going to a place like that without me, Chris! You could have died if that chopper didn’t show up to save you! God you could be damn stubborn sometimes!” I yelled at him when I arrived at his hospital room.
“I’m sorry Y/N, I didn’t want to worry you.” he replied softly.
“You didn’t want to worry me! Have you learned nothing from working with me! I worry no matter what. God I was so scared that I was going to lose you like I lost Piers, Chris.” I say lowering my voice.
“I’m sorry Y/N. I didn’t know”
“Just promise me you won’t do it again. I will not allow you to go on these missions alone, I want to be there to protect you.” I say to him
“I promise, Y/N”
“So, what’s the plan then, Redfield”
“We have to go get Rebecca, she knows about this virus, and I have a feeling that we aren’t the only ones with this intel”
“Okay, so let's get going.”
At Rebecca’s school
“Fuck, we gotta hurry, we weren’t the first ones here” Chris says.
We made our way to try to find Rebecca as fast as we could, we ended up finding her right before a zombie could get a bite out of her. We took her to a nearby hotel so she could calm down and get her back into an okay state of mind. Chris went to go talk to her, but soon came back to tell us that we were going to get a “real expert” on the situation. While he said this, he looked at me with a saddened expression. “Who are we going to go get?” I asked myself. We ended up in a bar located in a small rural town. “Why are we here?” I asked myself once more.
Rebecca, Chris and I entered the small bar, and once I saw who was sitting at the table in front of us, I froze. I looked at Chris and he gave me the same expression as before. “Fuck, that’s why he looked at me that way.” I’ve been avoiding Leon for the longest time; I don’t know how he’ll react to seeing me after the last time we spoke.
“Careful you don’t scare the locals, your stealth’s for shit” Leon says
“It’s a little early to be that deep in the bottle, Leon” Chris replies.
“Well look who it is, the BSAA’s golden boy, Dr. high hopes and the girl that has been ignoring me, the hell do you want.”
It hurt me when he said that, but it’s the truth. Chris then starts explaining what the job we have is about, but it starts turning into a heated argument between Chris and Leon.
“Stop! Leon, with everything that’s going on, you sit here and feel sorry for yourself. And you? You’re letting a grudge get the better of you.” Rebecca tells both of the men.
She then proceeds to explain more about the virus. She then pulls out a syringe and takes out some of her blood.
“If I die, get this to a lab you trust. I can’t imagine what you two have been through, but I know that neither one of you are the type of person who would sit here and argue while the world dies. That’s not who you are. Or is it?” Rebecca says.
She then walks off to the bathroom. “I’m going to go check on her, I won’t be long.” I announce.
“That wasn’t very nice of me” Rebecca tells herself.
“They deserved it though. I would have said harsh things” I reply, chuckling a bit
“Yeah, I know they did, but-” she was caught off by something.
“Rebecca?” I question, but before I could go back to Chris I was knocked out.
THIRD PERSON POV
Meanwhile with Chris and Leon
"Did you hear what he said? It’s our lucky day” Chris says
“Lucky?” Leon questions
“He’s gonna lead us to our guy” Chris replies.
They were interrupted by Arias’ men shooting the bar they were in, killing the man. Chris then looked out and saw someone taking Rebecca.
“Rebecca!” Chris yells.
He then proceeds to help her, but he was too slow, and they ended up taking Rebecca. Chris tells his team to get ready to go get her back.
 “Where’s Y/N?” Leon questions
“She was with Rebecca. Fuck! I told myself I wouldn’t leave her alone!” Chris yells while running towards the bathroom.
He saw her laying on the floor unconscious. Leon then comes rushing in to help her.
“God damn it!” Leon exclaims
“Please be okay, please be okay” Leon repeats himself.
“I’ll get her, go get the plane.” He tells Chris
LEON’S POV
I picked up Y/N in my arms and started to slowly carry her back to the plane.
“God, why weren’t you more careful.” I say to myself
Seeing her, in my arms, unconscious made me remember about our first-time meeting back in Raccoon city.
She looked so different from what she looked like back then. “Why did she stop talking to me? As far as I know I didn’t do anything to her.” I question myself
Last thing I remember is talking to her after the China incident. After that I tried talking to her, but she never answered me.
I felt her starting to wake up, so I stopped and waited.
“You okay?” I asked her
She stared at me for a while and I’m pretty sure she realized that I was carrying her, so she started to freak out.
I decided to put her down so she can calm down a bit.
“Uh thanks. What happened?” she asked
“While you were in the bathroom with Rebecca some of Arias’ men came and shot up the building and I’m pretty sure that they were the ones that knocked you out because they took Rebecca with them.” I explained
She stared at me for a moment, probably taking things in until she started to panic.
“Where's Chris?!” she exclaimed
“Hey, it’s okay, he’s okay, he just went to get the plane, I stayed back so I could carry you back, but you woke before we could make it halfway there.” I say with a little chuckle.
“Thanks, um we should head back to Chris and the team”
“Did I do something? You’ve been ignoring me for a while now” I asked
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Leon”
“Cut the crap Y/N! you’ve been ignoring me since the last time we talked.” I say, kind of getting annoyed
“I’ve been busy, Leon. We’ve had mission after mission, and I haven’t had time to talk.” She says calmly
“Don’t give me that shit Y/N, I’ve talked to Claire, and she told me that Chris and his team had some time off after the China incident, so don’t lie to me.” I stated to her
“I just couldn’t- I couldn’t see you, Leon”
“Why? What did I do? Please just tell me so I can fix it” I plead with her
“You didn’t do anything, Leon” she replies
“Then why Y/N, why have you been ignoring m-” she cut me off
“Because I’m in love with you Leon! I’ve been in love with you since Raccoon city, but no, you just had to fall in love with a woman that used you just to get her hand on the virus. You were blind to see how in love I was with you because of her, and I’ve heard from both Claire and Chris that you’ve seen her on some of your missions and you still protect her. You even saw her in China and you’re still in love with her, so I’m sorry, Leon if I chose to ignore you to protect my heart from someone that won’t consider my feelings!” she yells, out of breath.
I just looked at her, words just wouldn’t come out.
“I’m sorry, Leon but I just couldn’t do it anymore. Just pretend none of this happened, okay.” she told me while walking away.
I wanted to go after her, but I wouldn’t know what to tell her. “Fuck! Just go after her Leon, don’t let her walk away” I told myself, but I made no move to catch up to her.
Y/N POV
I was walking back to the plane, I was holding in my tears, but I knew that once Chris saw me, I wouldn’t be able to hold them in anymore. And I was right, because when I saw him, he called out to me and right then and there was when the tears came rushing out. Next thing I know I was in his arms.
“Hey, hey, you okay?” he asks softly
I just nodded at him, and he just continued to hug me.
“Did Leon ask you anything? Did he yell at you?” he asked
“No, he just asked why I was ignoring him, and I let my emotions drive me and I ended up telling him my feelings.” I explained to Chris
“I ended up just walking away from him and not letting him get any words in. I think he’ll be here in a bit. I’ll be okay, Chris, I promise.” I continued
“If you want, we could take you back to HQ, so you could calm down-” I cut him off
“No, Chris, I’m fine really. I want to get Rebecca back; it was my fault that she was caught. I wasn’t paying attention and she ended up getting taken” I explained
“Y/N it wasn’t your fault-” I cut him off once again
“Come on, Chris, don’t tell me that, just please don’t take me back to HQ, I want to help.” I ask him
He seems hesitant at first, but he nods in agreement.
“Okay, Y/N but we have to hurry up, I don’t know how long she has.”
I walked up to the plane and started to get my gear. Chris hopped on a couple of minutes later, but now he was with Leon.
I looked over to where he was and I saw that he was already looking at me, so I quickly looked away and started to get my guns ready.
Time skip to where they were going to New York
Y/N POV
Chris was debriefing us on what we were going to do to get Rebecca back. I couldn’t help but feel his eyes on me while we were listening to Chris.
“Gifts from the BSAA” Claudia shouts over the plane noises
“Dibs on the bike” Leon states
“So, Y/N you’re with me then” Chris tells me
At the sound of my name, I realized that it was time to put my feelings aside and focus on the mission at hand.
“Yes sir” I say, saluting him.
“Y/N-” I hear Leon say my name, but I cut him off before he can say anything else
“I have to get to work, Leon” I tell him
After that I got in the car with Chris, and we started to head towards Rebecca.
Short time skip to where they are fighting the zombies
“Fuck!” I yell to Chris
“I’m out of ammo!” I say trying to defend myself
Just then we saw Leon on his bike sliding in to help us.
“Sorry I’m late, I had to take the stairs.” he announces
“Chris! Rebecca is running out of time; we need to go” I tell Chris
“Don’t worry, I got this.” Leon tells us
Chris and I tried to find Rebecca and when we did, we realized that Arias injected a new strain of the virus, but before we could look for it this big B.O.W came up to us and attacked us. He pushed both Chris and I, but Chris dropped some type of grenade to kill it.
We took Rebecca to the upper level to try to find the vaccine, but Arias was there waiting for us.
While Chris was fighting Arias, I stayed with Rebecca to make sure she was okay.
“Don’t worry Becca, we’ll find that vaccine soon.” I reassure her
Chris came back to us after he had defeated Arias, and he proceeded to carry Rebecca.
That was until we heard loud footsteps coming towards us.
“REDFIELD!” Arias says in a distorted voice.
“Chris, go find the vaccine, I’ll hold him off.” I tell him
“No, I’m not going to leave you here alone. I’m not going to lose you like I lost Piers, Y/N!” he yells at me
“I promise I’ll be fine. Please go find the vaccine, Rebecca doesn’t have much time, go Chris, I’ll be fine, I won’t leave you alone, just please hurry.” I yell back
He nods in agreement and runs to find the vaccine.
I was fighting for as long as I could so Chris could find the vaccine, but Arias had been so much stronger than I had imagined. “Fuck, one more hit and I’m dead.” I tell myself. But I was ready to sacrifice myself if it meant that the world would be saved.
Arias had grabbed me, and I was ready to die. His claws were already piercing my skin and with one more hit, I’d be gone.
Just then, I heard the elevator door ding and I saw Leon getting ready to shoot Arias, but he put me in front of him, which then caused Leon to stumble on his bike which then crashed into Arias making him drop me with a lot of force. That’s the last thing I remember.
I knew I was unconscious because every memory I have ever made, came rushing towards me, like I was dying.
CHRIS’ POV
I came stumbling in Arias’ office to try to find this damn vaccine. “I have to hurry, for Rebecca's sake and Y/N’s” I tell myself.
I came to a room that was sealed shut, but I tried my hardest to open it. Once I did, I finally saw what I’ve been looking for.
“Found you” I say
I then rushed back to Rebecca and Y/N
Once I reached them, I saw Leon driving his bike to a hanging Arias.
I rushed over and shot him with a grenade launcher.
“Bye-bye asshole” I say, finally killing Arias for good.
I rushed back to Rebecca, but I saw Y/N lying unconscious on the floor.
“Fuck! Leon come check if Y/N’s okay” I yell to him
At the sound of her name, he came running towards her, he looked panicked, but he checked if she was alright while I gave Rebecca the vaccine.
“Come on, Leon, tell me if she’s alive!” I tell him, a bit frustrated.
“Yeah, she’s alive, she’s just unconscious, but she’s losing a lot of blood.” I hear him say
Once Rebecca was fully healed, I rushed to Y/N to help her. I picked her up, since Leon couldn’t because he hurt his shoulder, and I placed her on the plane with the rest of the team. After putting her on it I carried the cases of the vaccine to help the city.
When I was finished, I rushed to Y/N, who was still unconscious.
“Come on, Y/N, don’t you die on me too!” I yell to her
Thankfully Rebecca was feeling better, and she started to help Y/N with her open wounds.
“She’ll be okay, Chris. She’ll wake up soon. The bleeding stopped, so now it’s up to her to wake up.” Rebecca tells me
“Damn it! I shouldn’t have left her alone!” I yell
I leaned closer to Y/N
“Come on, Y/N, I don’t want to lose you too.” I whisper to her, tears almost falling.
LEON’S POV
“If only I would have gotten there sooner, maybe she wouldn’t be as hurt. I’m sorry, I should have been faster” I tell Chris, while moving toward him.
“It’s not your fault, Leon, it’s mine. I should have never left her alone” he replies, in a monotone voice.
“Don’t blame yourself. I’m sure she’ll wake up as soon as we land.” I reassure him.
“You know, she’s always loved you. She never stopped loving you, not even when you chose Ada over her. The day we came back from China, I saw her sitting alone, thinking. I asked her if she was thinking about you and she told me to drop the subject, because no matter what I told her, it wouldn’t change the way you saw her. After that, each time I brought you up, she would always say that she was over you, but I knew that that wasn’t the truth. She will always love you, Leon” he tells me in a soft whisper
“Why are you telling me this ?” I questioned
“I don’t know to be honest. She might feel the need to not wake up anymore, so I wanted you to know just in case she doesn’t.” He tells me, with his voice breaking a bit.
“Don’t say that she’ll wake up, she has to” I say, my voice breaking a bit as well
“No, no she doesn’t. I want her to, but she doesn’t have to wake up. She’s fought a long battle. I want her to wake up, but it’s going to be okay if she doesn’t” he whispers
“You hear that Y/N, you don’t have to wake up if you don’t want to, I want you to, but I know you’re tired-” I cut him off
“No, she has to wake up” I tell him
“She has to wake up because I love her!” I shout
“Ever since Raccoon. Ever since she helped me with my wounds, ever since the day I fucking met her I have been in love with her, not Ada. Ada was just a distraction for me, no matter how you put it. I have never loved Ada. When she kissed me, I wanted to pull away because Y/N was right there, but Ada wouldn’t let me go. I was trying to tell her how I felt while we were at Umbrella, but we were too busy trying to find a way out. After Raccoon was gone, I had been assigned to the DSO and Y/N went to find you. The incident in China was the first time I had heard from her in a long time and since then I have not stopped loving her, so she has to wake up so I could tell her how much she means to me.” I rant to Chris, tears falling from my eyes.
“I didn’t know almost dying was the key to having you confess” I hear Y/N’s faint voice say
Chris and I rushed towards her and hugged her.
“Thank god you woke up, Y/N” Chris and I said at the same time, making all of us laugh a bit.
“I love you, Leon. Always have and always will.” she tells me
“I love you to Y/N” I reply

ROCK N' ROLL [CHAPTER THREE]
Small Talk
Tumblr media
"Well since you're stuck here, I guess we should keep looking for your friend." Monty said as you sat down on the floor.
"Well, where would we look?" You asked.
"I don't fuckin' know, I'm not the one who lost him."
You glared up at him. "Whatever, smart ass."
He chuckled and knelt down. "Okay okay, where'd you see him last?"
"By the main stage. I lost him in the crowd and thought I saw him go into Rockstar Row, but I guess I was wrong."
"Then let's go there. Let's see if we can find him." Monty said standing up.
He helped you off the floor by picking up the back of your shirt and lifting you up like that.
After he did that, you two walked to the elevators and got inside.
After a few minutes of silence, you spoke up. "So, why are you able to swear? You're a children's entertainer."
"I got a glitch a few weeks ago that Parts and Service couldn't remove. And since it was too costly to replace me all together for such a minor issue, they made me promise that as long as I don't do it around children, I can swear." He explained.
"Ohh. That...makes sense, actually." You said.
"Roxanne is so jealous of me." He laughed. "Freddy hates it, though."
You slightly laughed at the thought of Roxanne being jealous because Monty can swear and she can't.
"So what are you doing at the Pizza Plex?" Monty asked.
"I wanted to see Freddy preform. I've never seen the show before."
Monty scoffed. "Well you came- er- broke in." Monty teased. "On the wrong day. Freddy barely preformed before his system crashed and then...then..."
"Then what?"
"I uhh...I don't remember." He said, looking a little confused. "I remember going back to my room but then my system detected a virus and everything went black. Then I could see again and you were standing in front of me."
"Maybe that's why you attacked me, because you had some kind of virus that made you go against your code."
"You're probably right." He said. "Maybe Roxanne has that same virus. She's not programmed to attack people either."
"And we can get rid of it by pressing her reset button as well." You said.
Monty nodded.
"Do you know where her reset button is?"
He shook his head. "I'm not sure. But I know that Parts and Service has our blueprints scattered around somewhere. We can find out where her reset button is. And the others, just in case."
The elevator doors opened. "But what should we do first? Should we look for your friend or should we find the blueprints?" Monty asked as he looked down at you.
You tapped your chin, thinking about which decision would be better.
[Hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for more and have a good day.]

What an interesting premise that was terribly disappointing in execution. This is possibly going to be very critical, whoops.
The premise of Pulse is very fascinating. I love a good ghost story, or multi-dimensional story, especially when you tie in some aspects of tech-horror that this film has. And I do love a good apocalypse, especially a creeping one that you don't realize is happening until its too late. Those aspects of this film I appreciate. However, man what the hell.
So, clearly the conversation that this film is trying to tackle is about how the creation and ease of access of the internet is creating a worldwide epidemic of loneliness and isolation that is slowly killing the population. Not in any drastic way (though in some instances, yes, with the first death where he hangs himself) but in a looming, subtle sort of dissolving of sense of self. The people that get this... virus or whatever literally fade into surfaces and leave behind an imprint of the body. It acts like a computer virus--but it's really just highlighting what's already there. (In the case of Harue, who said she's always been alone. It's not a surprise she naturally turned to the internet/computer science to fill that void).
All of these aspects I genuinely enjoyed. The execution was dismal and confusing. I spent so much of the movie getting genuinely irritated by the logical leaps the people were making. Like, they would somehow immediately know things or suddenly forget important things, and it kept happening throughout the middle of the film that I was actually getting pissed off because it rapidly took me out of the story. Like the shit about the spirit realm being overwhelmed and having to come here, but then why are they making more spirits? Who aren't hanging around really all that much except for the few times someone hallucinates them? And then also it just wipes out everyone on the Earth? Stupid shit. Why did you bring up that random story if it has no relevance? Or is it related, and the message just got lost?
It had such a strong start, too, and even with the slow, creeping realization of what's going on, the end felt like the script writer got lost in his own sauce and forgot what story he was trying to tell. It became a weird jumbled mess that just repeatedly smashed you over the heat with a metal baseball bat about how terrible the internet is for society. Which like, totally valid, especially in 2001 but dude we get it. I got it the first 600 times you said it, I still get it now. I didn't get brain damage or alzheimer's in the last 20 minutes since you told me you were lonely.
Another positive I can give this film is the use of unease and discomfort of the use of shadows throughout this film. It was incredible. Possibly one of the best to do it, especially with all the people lurking (makes me think of Hereditary). I spent more time focusing on the background than the foreground, waiting to see what shadow was gonna move.
Another negative, this was so predictable. So, so, so predictable. Great idea. Mid execution.
Now, my theory is that the red used throughout is somehow the protector. Obviously, the red tape seals the door--but could it have been any tape? Probably, but they chose--and continued to choose--red. It is EVERYWHERE in this film. I think that's why our main girl survives. When shit starts really kicking off, she's always tied somehow to red, be it on her clothes or directly around her. Same with the loveable idiot Kawashima who wears his red hawaiian shirt until his dumbass changes to green and walks into that opened door.

I love how bleak this movie is but I hate everything else.

IT JUST MAKE SENSE
Kabataan Essay by Kristyle Lacostales
Month of the January, recalling the last week of January, that was the time of almost closing of the school year 2019 -2022, That was the week of clearance day in the school year 2019 -2020, She vividly remembers that during the flag ceremony the principal said, "There are many coronavirus cases reported in China , As much as possible if you have symptoms like fever, cough, or sore throat please stay at home." Hearing that she was uninterested because during that week, there were still no cases in the Philippines. As a result, She and her friend laughed off the topic because they believed it was a joke because it was impossible in the Philippines.
Tumblr media
After the flag ceremony, the students followed their usual routine of going to class, having their clearance signed by their teacher, having recess, and then going home. However, during recess, they talked about the Covid 19 virus and were thrilled because if it took place, the government might suspend classes and there would be no clearance day.
That thought made them happy, until the suspension actually happened. She remembered that there was a one-week suspension of classes because 1 or 3 cases had been reported in the Philippines, causing the country to be alarmed. However, because she was in ninth grade, she viewed the suspension as a rest day for the clearance day .She thought that after the one week suspension everything would return to normal, which disappointed her because she didn't want to do her clearance because as a 9th grade student clearance week was like a hell week .
She didn't realize that the one week suspension would lead to suspension until her senior year of high school. After she realized that covid 19 was a serious matter, as reported in the news , On 16 March of 2019, the President signed Proclamation No. 929 placing the country under a state of calamity due to COVID-19 for six months, again adhering to the Constitution’s Article II, Section 15 and the Philippines Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act (RA No. 10121). That was the start.
She was one of those people who has no idea what will happen in their lives. Since the pandemic began she felt lost, disorganized, and confused as a result of the sudden changes in her life since the pandemic began. She had to adjust to plenty of changes in her life because this pandemic caused her to go into a state of panic. She couldn't cope with the idea of one of her family members being infected with the virus and suffering as a result.
Tumblr media
After experiencing the pandemic , she didn’t know what to do because her life was normal before the pandemic, which meant she would get up at six o'clock in the morning to bathe and eat breakfast, then commute to school, then return home at four o'clock in the afternoon to rest and do her homework, and so on. She does all of the year before the pandemic actually happens.
I remember the first month of the lockdown as a first-timer in a pandemic, it's natural for me to wonder how things would turn out nevertheless, I have learned to adjust and just go with the flow and accept whatever happens, as there's nothing we can do about it other than staying at home.
Tumblr media
As the pandemic worsens, For the first time in my life I feel both happy and relaxed. I am aware that it is unpleasant to feel those emotions at that time, but what can I do? I am genuinely happy because since 2019 I have been working at our family's business. Our rest days are only once a week, and I am constantly exhausted. Imagine handling our own business while doing my acads , plus the pressure coming to my parents since I am an only child. Pandemic really helps me deal with my thoughts.
This is the time of my life when I feel like a normal teenager. There's no pressure, nothing to think about, and a lot of free time. I have more time for myself and my family rather than thinking of business.
After a year of lockdown, I can say I'm happy with my life, but in reality, that's not the case. We still have things to think about. There was a time when we didn't know how things worked around us. It was also our first year in lockdown, so we thought it would be best to stop studying for this year.
Since our parents know what's best for us, we enrolled for that year, which was a good idea since missing a year can cost us a lot. At first, I found online classes to be stressful, ineffective, and not at all the same as face-to-face classes. Now, I wish I could take online classes again.
Face-to-face classes were much more stressful and time-consuming than online classes. In online classes, I can study without having to worry about getting ready for class early in the morning. I know it's gross, but sometimes I forget to have my teeth brushed before online classes start, and I always wear the uniform for my top but not my bottom because I'm too lazy to wear the whole thing. Plus, since they are online classes, I only need WiFi to study at home.
Tumblr media
During the pandemic, I really liked taking online classes. I have more time to myself than I did before, and I can focus on our business while I'm studying. In a way, the pandemic was a blessing in disguise. I used to miss face-to-face classes, but since I'm a working student, online classes were the best option for me. I didn't realize that time moved so quickly in a pandemic.
A year has passed and our graduation is still online. I can say there are a lot of things we didn't get to feel like, graduating face to face, the Js prom, Intrams, Foundation day, Field trip, and so on. The pandemic took a lot of memories and opportunities away from us, but what can we do? We need to survive this pandemic at its maximum.
The most difficult thing for her so far has been adjusting to a new school, as it is their first time. This is because she has attended the same school since elementary school and is familiar with the system, teachers, and classmates.
At first, they thought, "Oh, this is about what we expected." They didn't know that the problems and struggles were still to come. During the first one to two weeks, they started to have trouble because they didn't know anyone and it was hard to talk to them. They also had a lot of work to do because in their old school, projects and exams were the only important things, but in their new school, they had to do a lot of things to pass.because of this, they were unable to effectively manage their time, and they soon began to put things off. She was confused about what she should do first, and as a result, she frequently felt like she was going to burst under the weight of her responsibilities.
After the first semester, she knew how to manage her time well since she works and goes to school at the same time. It was a big deal for her to finally figure out what to do one by one without putting off requirements and while doing her duties at work. So far, she's happy in her new school, and she feels like she's grown since her old school treated its students like babies. Stepping out of her comfort zone was a big deal for her, and she was proud of herself being a high honor student despite all the shortcomings and struggle.
When her new school finally started holding in-person classes, she was thrilled at first because, after two years of online teaching, she could start attending classes in person for the first time in her life. However, after a week or two, she realized that attending classes in person was much more challenging than she had expected. After attending face to face classes for only a week or two, she discreetly longed to return to her online learning.
Even though the pandemic caused a lot of trouble and problems , she was happy because things are slowly getting back to normal. She was also thankful that she and her family made it through the pandemic without getting the Covid19 virus.

Salt, Sugar and Viruses
Pairing: Office!Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: You’ve been secretly making coffee for Bucky at the office.
Word Count: 1,962
Warnings: Two idiots just doing idiot things
A/N: This was done in a haste so I kinda hate it lol but I can’t get this story out of my head and thanks to @bitchassbucky for pushing me to write a full fic of this 🥰 luv u 🥺
MAIN MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
"You have a crush on Barnes' grumpy ass?!" Sam choked out.
You angrily hushed him and frantically looked around the pantry to make sure that your secret was still safe. Fortunately, only you, Sam and Nat were inside having your respective afternoon breaks.
"What? He's nice. And cute." you told Sam as you stirred your coffee, smiling to yourself at the thought of your office crush, Bucky.
"How'd you even meet him, he works all the way at the IT department." Sam asked.
Nat snorted recalling the encounters she witnessed for the past few months. Some of which were unintentional but most of them? You had carefully planned out just so you could come up with an excuse to request for Bucky's assistance.
"She might have gotten viruses in her computer once...or twice. Or thrice." Nat teased.
The first time you met Bucky was when most of your files suddenly got corrupted. It was hella embarrassing because you didn't know shit about how computers worked and well, you've been illegally downloading torrents since the office's internet connection was a gift from the internet gods. Without a doubt, your computer was a nest for viruses.
Bucky showed up in your floor that morning and you almost sunk into your seat from shame. You'd heard the IT Department complain about everybody else in the office messing up their computer systems. When you turned around, Bucky greeted you with a charming smile and soft hello. You could still remember how he felt when he stayed behind you as you sat on your chair, bending over to take your mouse in his hand.
God, he smelled so good you almost turned your head to nuzzle your face into his neck.
He was very soft-spoken you realized; Bucky was kind enough to walk you through the process and to be honest, you couldn't recall a damn thing he said. Something about firewalls? And shields? Whatever, you didn't really listen. You just stared at Bucky as he explained everything, solving your problem in less than fifteen minutes.
Since then, your crush for Bucky grew bigger. You'd entered the elevator together a couple of times, shared small conversations that made your heart flutter. When those little moments didn't seem enough, you started your devious plan to fuck up your computer a bit. By the third time Bucky fixed your computer, he was already comfortable enough to tease you for being a "virus magnet".
"Hello? Young lady, come back to earth." Sam snapped his finger right in front of your face, interrupting your thoughts.
You clicked your tongue at him and swatted his hand away. "If you ever tell this to anyone, Wilson. You are dead." you warned, poinitng a finger at him.
Sam rolled his eyes, "It's so unfair how he's kind to you. Last time I requested for his assistance he got all smug and grumpy at me." he complained.
Nat shook her head in amusment, "That's because you've been downloading porn. You know the IT department can access our browser histories, right?"
You choked on your coffe, "WHAT?!"
Nat narrowed her eyes at you, "You been up to no good for you to react like that?"
You faceplamed, "I've been stalking his Facebook account."
Sam chortled, "What are you, in high school? Jesus, calm down. You're gonna be fine. Why don't you just tell him you like him?"
You made a face, "I'm not Nat to have the guts to do that."
Nat hummed, bringing her mug to the sink to wash it. "Why don't you start by making him coffee?"
"I don't know how he likes his coffee."
You received a pointed look from both your friends. You groaned in defeat, "Okay, fine. I know how Bucky likes his coffee."
Nat smirked, "Stalker."
-
Bucky always arrived in the office half an hour before nine in the morning. This gives him time to settle into his cubicle, buy a sandwich at the stall downstairs and to make himself a cup of coffee. It was his daily routine and upon going back to his desk after buying his breakfast sandwich, Bucky was surprised to see a cup of newly brewed coffee on his desk.
He looked around but there were no signs of anyone. There wasn't even a note of some sort. Carefully, he brought the cup to his face and inhaled its scent. Shrugging, he took a tiny sip.
-
"How's the little secret admirer doing?" Nat asked, grabbing a chair and sitting down beside you.
You deadpanned, "I've been leaving him his coffee for an entire week now and nothing's happened yet."
Nat frowned, "Are you kidding me? Why would you expect for something to happen when you haven't been leaving any clues?" she said.
"I'm shy, okay?! Maybe I should hide somewhere, check for his reaction. See whether I have a chance." you shrugged.
It was stupid of you to leave the coffee on Bucky's desk. You never stayed to wait for him. You just left it there without a note or anything that would even give him a clue about you and your little crush on him. You knew the reason why, of course. You were afraid of rejection. Sometimes, you'd feel like you have a chance with him since he was always so kind and warm to you. Not to mention, everyone in the office knows him to be grumpy but around you, he was totally the opposite of that.
But then again, maybe he was just nice to you because you were nice to him too.
-
One morning after leaving Bucky his coffee, you finally decided to leave him a note. You ran back to your cubicle to get a post-it and a pen. Before you could even walk around your desk, you spotted Bucky headed over to the pantry, the cup of coffee in his hand.
"Fuck, okay. Maybe I should just directly ask him out?" you thought to yourself.
You quickly followed Bucky into the pantry and almost whined when you saw that Sam was inside as well. You widened your eyes at him, signalling for him to leave but Sam was preoccupied on observing Bucky who seemed to be in a bad mood.
"Rough morning?" Sam just had to ask as you awkwardly stood by the doorway, finding the right timing to butt in.
Bucky's forehead creased as he let out a huff, "Rough weeks, actually." he answered.
You opened your mouth to say something comforting, wanting to lift Bucky's spirits up but he turned around and glanced at you and then back to Sam.
"Does anyone hate me in this office?" Bucky asked.
You and Sam exchanged looks, both of utter confusion before shaking your heads in unison. "Why'd you ask?" Sam asked.
Bucky lifted the cup of coffee that you made, "Someone's been making me coffee." he stated.
You cleared your throat, "...is it bad?" you asked.
Bucky made a face, "Terrible actually."
Ouch.
"I mean, the first time I saw it I was actually flattered. And then I took a sip and it's just...salty." Bucky said, pouring the coffee into the sink before throwing it into the bin.
Sam's head snapped towards your direction, his face almost red from biting back a laugh. Your face heated up at the realization that you've been putting salt into Bucky's coffee instead of sugar. All this time. You wanted to disappear right then and there. And Sam had to be the one to witness your huge failure.
"I thought it was a mistake since the next day, there was another coffee on my desk. I tried it out and it's still salty. It lasted a week, you guys. And I was dumb enough to keep on tasting it in hopes that it might have been a genuine mistake. But now I'm starting to think that someone hates me that much to fuck my coffee up." Bucky explained, face scrunched up into a mixture of irritation and curiosity.
Sam failed to stifle his laughter and exploded, "Funniest shit I've ever heard." he told Bucky before standing up and making his way to the door where you stood.
Your face was red and if the salt and sugar mishap was already humiliating enough, Sam decided to make things even worse for you.
"You really need to check the labels before pouring shit into his coffee." and with that, Sam gave your shoulder a squeeze before leaving the pantry.
Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath and tried to calm yourself. When you opened them, Bucky was staring at you with an expression you couldn't paint.
"Did you...were you the one leaving me coffee?" he asked.
You secretly pinched yourself in the arm to check whether you were just dreaming. Fuck, you hoped you were having a nightmare but the pain that you felt made it clear that you totally fucked up.
You nodded in embarrassment.
"You hate me that much?" Bucky asked in disbelief, as if he was offended that out of all people, it had to be you.
You quickly shook your head, "No, God no! I just...it's because I..." you stammered, trying to find the courage to spit out the words you've been dying to tell Bucky.
Bucky tilted his head, "Because you...?" he urged.
Your hands balled into fists as you let out another deep breath. Bucky probably hates you right now, but whatever. This was your only chance and to hell, you were going to confess.
"Because I like you?"
You didn't think that Bucky's confused look could even turn more...well, confused. But he was looking at you incredulously as though you've grown a second head, or a third head.
"You like me so you decided to put salt in my coffee?" he asked again.
You honestly didn't know who sounded even more stupid now, you or Bucky. Because if he still didn't understand what was going on, he was dense as fuck.
"No!" you explained. "I wanted to make you a decent cup of coffee but I guess I was too careless and didn't realize that I've been putting in salt instead of sugar." you said.
Bucky didn't say anything after that. He just stared at you, but he didn't seem confused anymore. If any, he looked like he was processing the entire situation.
"You like me." he stated again.
Will your embarrassment ever end?!
"Yes, Bucky. And I messed up my chance and you know what? I'm just going to show myself out and leave you alone." you told him and forced a fake grin before attempting to walk out.
A hand gripped your wrist, pulling you back into the pantry. This time, Bucky was the one who looked embarrassed.
"I might have...done something pretty stupid too." he said, avoiding your gaze as he rubbed the back of his neck.
You eyed him suspiciously, "What do you mean?"
"I uhh...I did something to your computer...the day before you requested for my assistance for the first time." Bucky admitted shyly.
It was your turn to get muddled at Bucky's confession. "But why?" you asked.
Bucky offered a shy smile, "Because I've been seeing you around the building and thought you were cute."
And then everything clicked. It was a light bulb moment for the both of you.
"Oh. Ohhh okay. I see." you said before suddenly breaking into laughter.
Bucky joined you and scratched his head, "I guess we're both idiots." he said, placing his hands inside his pockets as he stared at you.
"This went...way more interesting than I thought." you said with a nod.
There was a pause before you decided to speak up, "So, do you want coffee?"
Bucky beamed at you as he nodded, "As long as you'll use sugar this time."

Summary: a boy takes notice of reader for the first time and Donnie is worried that he’s bad news. Little do both of them know, he’s right
Warning: mentions of attempted rape
——-
You felt so much better about yourself when your birthday was over. It was honestly one of the best you’d ever had. Better than the ones your friends planned anyway. You still went, but it was nothing like the party that the turtles threw. You didn’t think it could get any better.
Until, that is, something happened that almost made you change your mind.
You friend put a picture of you and her, together, up on Snapchat.
And... for the first time in your life... a guy took notice of you.
It wasn’t much. It was just “who’s that? Low key cute. Whats their snap?”
That happened to your friends.
Never to you.
Even more surprising, your friend gave him your snap.
Eric.
Eric was his name.
And he also went to your school!
You were incredibly nervous about this. Every single time a boy took interest in you it never seemed to be what your thought it was.
Last time a boy took interest in you it was ACTUALLY so they could get with your friend. That, my friends, was two years ago. Your friends blasted through boys like there was no tomorrow. But you? You’d never had someone interested in you like that.
Until now.
You talked to him and... honestly... you felt like there was something there.
He asked a lot about you and just seemed like the one, you know? You both shared the same interest in shows! You both enjoyed the same music!
Whenever he responded to you, you just couldn’t help but feel elated.
You would fall back on your bed and stare at the ceiling, feeling like this was a scene from a movie.
He didn’t wait for twenty minutes to respond to you.
He acknowledged every single thing you said.
And when he met up with you after school...
Wow.
Just wow.
He was incredibly handsome and polite.
He even held doors open for you!
You found yourself meeting up with him again and again.
It made you feel so... important.
Unfortunately, the turtles didn’t feel the same way.
————
“Who ya talkin’ to?” Leo leaned closer to look over your shoulder from his spot beside you on the couch.
It was movie night with the boys and April.
You brought you phone to your chest to obscure his view. “Hey hey hey back off!” You playfully shoved him away. “Just a friend.”
Mikey gave you a shit eating grin when he noticed the smile slipping onto your face. “Just a friend huh?” He pulled himself off the floor and reached for your phone. “Let me see let me see!”
You held it away from him to. “Woah this is my phone! Get away!”
A metal claw snatched it from your hand, retracting back to Donnie.
“And is this ‘friend’ a boy or a girl?” He opened your phone. “Ugh, what’s your password?”
You leapt off the couch and tried to grab your device back. “Does it matter?”
Donnie tapped away at the buttons, using his metal claws from his battle shell to keep you away. “No, it doesn’t matter unless it’s a BOY.” You phone buzzed slightly as it opened to your home screen. “Aha, I am in!”
Mikey and Leo both crawled over to their soft shelled brother to observe from behind him.
“Donnie, give it back.” You ordered, looking to April for help. She just shrugged and continued watching with a smirk. “Guys, come on! It’s not a big deal!”
Raph pulled himself off the floor and placed his hands on his hips. “Alright, jokes over; give the phone back.”
Donnie groaned. “Come on! I’m so close to figuring out who y/n’s talking to!”
Raph gave him a stern look. “Now. It’s private and obviously Y/n doesn’t want you looking through it.”
Donnie, Mikey, and Leo all gave him giant puppy eyes.
Raph simply held out his hand.
Donnie sighed. “Fine. Here.”
You sighed as well but in relief.
Raph took it from him, glancing down at your phone. To your dismay, it was open up to messages. “Eric Sherrin?” He asked in confusion.
“AHA!” Donnie shouted in triumph. “A name is all I need!” He began typing in the device on his wrist.
“Raph!” You accused angrily.
Ugh what were you gonna do now??
You’d never hear the end of this.
“Hey! Raph’s on your side! I didn’t know he could find out with just a name!” He held up his hands in defense.
“Eric?” April asked as she swiped through her phone. “Does he go to our school?”
You glared at Donnie before you decided whether or not to share that.
He shrugged. “Hey, I already have his social media up and every piece of information I could find. Whether or not you say will change nothing.”
“Fine.” You growled. “Yes, he goes to our school. He’s a mutual friend with my other friends.”
April raised a brow. “And that’s supposed to make me feel better.”
You shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Well it doesn’t.”
April was dead set on despising your friends. You knew she had good reason but you didn’t need it brought up now.
Leo took the computer that Donnie had sent all the information to, scrolling through Eric’s social media. “Wow, there are a lot of pictures of him holding fish.” He snorted. “Does he think that’s gonna impress people or something?”
“I’ve never understood the appeal.” Donnie shook his head. “So what? You killed an animal good for you.”
“I think it’s about killing a BIG animal.” Leo squinted at the screen. “There’s also lots of pictures of him with other girls.”
“Guys can you just stop?” You placed your hands on your hips. “It’s sweet that you’re trying to make sure he’s not some idiot but you’re invading his privacy-!”
“Woah, look what I found in his records from the school.” Donnie waved his brothers closer.
Even Raph and April did so.
“He harassed at girl at school?” Mikey repeated as he read the screen. “Really?”
“Yeah no this guy’s bad news.” Donnie shook his head in disappointment. “Y/n, give me your phone. I’ll block him for you.” He even reached his hand out expectantly.
You held your phone closer. “No, that’s just a rumor that spread at school.”
The boys stopped what they were doing.
“You knew?” Leo narrowed his eyes. “And you’re still interested?”
“He told me that the teachers didn’t believe him.” You responded as you crossed your arms. “Some girl made it up cause she didn’t like him.”
“You can’t take that risk.” Raph crossed his arms.
“Raph, I thought you were in my side!” You protested.
“That was before Raph found out that the guy harassed someone.” He defended. “Come on, you know this can’t end good.”
Your stomach burned with anger.
Anger that they felt they could order you around like that.
That they wouldn’t even let you figure it out yourself.
That this might end just like every other romantic interest would.
“Why won’t you just let me handle this myself?” You stuffed your hands in your pockets and flopped back down in the couch.
Mikey crawled into the spot next to you, wrapping his arms around you. “You’re one of our best friends! We don’t want anything to happen to you!” He gave you wide innocent eyes as if that would erase your anger.
Well... it did.
Curse him and his adorable eyes.
You rolled your eyes and hugged him back. “I know. I just want to figure this out myself.” You gave Donnie a hard glare as your rested your chin on Mikey’s shoulder.
“Fine.” He closed all the tabs on his computer grudgingly. “But I know this is just gonna end in heartbreak.”
“What a vote of confidence.” Leo snorted and plopped down in the spot next to you.
He smirked when you ignored him, still hugging Mikey.
“Hey, come on, you know you can’t stay mad at this face.” He leaned against you dramatically. “I’m the face man! You can’t resist me!” He pulled you away from Mikey and draped his arm over your shoulder. “You know you love me.”
You turned your head away from him, more playful now than spiteful.
“Come onnnnn...” he smirked. “You love meeee...”
You shoved him off the couch with a laugh. “I’m still thinking that over.”
Raph quickly took Leo’s seat as his younger brother rubbed the spot he’d landed on.
“No hard feelings?” Raph rested his arm on the couch behind you as he started the movie back up.
“Fine. No hard feelings.”
Leo moved so he was sitting on the floor and leaning against your legs.
You couldn’t stay mad at them. Well, except Donnie. You could very well stay mad at Donnie.
And it seemed that Donnie could stay mad at you as well. He left the room with all his tech, grumbling something under his breath.
“I already know how this is gonna end.” He grumbled.
“Love you to, Donnie.” You muttered, sinking into the couch.
Whatever.
He’d get over it soon enough.
————
Donnie didn’t get over it.
Whenever you came over to hang out he brought it up again casually. Well, as casually as Donnie could be, which wasn’t very casual at all.
“Ugh, this game sucks!” Mikey shouted at the tv once.
“Not as much as Eric What’s-his-face’s record.” He’d commented, giving you a glance out of the corner of his eye.
Or even:
“Ugh you can’t trust those pop up ads.” Raph told Leo when his phone had downloaded a virus after he clicked an ad.
“Just like how you can’t trust Eric.” He’d ran into the room to spit that out.
If Raph ever asked how things were going with Eric, Donnie either magically appeared next to him with a hopeful look or disappear with a groan.
You and Eric weren’t even together.
But... you hoped you would be soon.
He invited you to a party that Friday! And he’d specified that he’s invited you as his date.
Your friends were excited, surprisingly. They wanted to help you find an outfit and everything.
Finally, you felt like things were going right.
Why couldn’t Donnie just be happy for you?
——-
“Why won’t you come?” You begged April as she flopped down onto your bed.
“You’ve got Eric and all of your other friends.” She waved you off. “Besides, you know I hate parties.” She sat up slightly. “And Eric gives me the heebie jeebies.”
You rolled your eyes and held out a dress. “Yeah, yeah. Fine, I won’t make you.”
April touched the fabric of the dress with a frown. “Is this what your friends picked out for you? I thought you didn’t like dresses?”
You shrugged. “They said Eric would like it and that it looked good on me.”
April fully sat up now. “But you’re gonna be so uncomfortable in that!”
“I mean, it’s supposed to be pretty, not comfy, right?” You shrugged, slipping it on over your head. “Does it look good?” You gave her a small twirl.
“Of course it’s pretty... but its a little... much.” She shook her head. “Does Eric really deserve to see you in that?”
The last bit was playful but still...
“I think so.” You say down beside her. “I’m just so incredibly nervous and I don’t know if this is a bad idea.”
You felt exposed.
But, you also trusted that the people at the party could be trusted with that.
April draped her arm over your shoulder. “Well you look stunning.”
You smiled back at her. “Thanks.”
“Alright, girl, your party’s in twenty minutes. Ready to head out?” She jabbed her thumb in the direction of the door.
You stood up and smoothed out the dress. “Ready.”
———
You stood in front of the house nervously. You could hear the music and see the lights and people dancing. You just didn’t know if you actually were ready.
“You look hot, y/n.” Your friend told you, glancing at one of your other friends. “He’s gonna love it.”
You didn’t really love it, but if he liked it then so would you.
“Hope so.” You muttered, checking your phone.
Donnie sent you a simple text:
Don’t trust Eric and keep pepper spray on hand.
Wow, such confidence.
You ignored it and stuffed your phone in the dress pocket. You didn’t need that. You needed all the confidence you could muster.
“Wow.” A voice said from behind you, causing you to jump.
There was Eric, dressed nicely and with a charming smile on his face.
“You look hot.” He grinned.
Your stomach fluttered. “Oh, thank... thank you!”! You smoothed it out nervously.
You didn’t know if your stomach felt this way out of nerves or out of feelings for him. You really couldn’t tell.
He placed his hand over your hip and pulled you to his side. “Well Let’s head on in! Can’t wait to show you off.”
Your stomach jumped. “Well, I just wanted to wait a little,” he opened the door and dragged you in, “oh okay!”
Your friends and Eric were at your side the whole time.
You still felt as if you were on display while you and your group were dancing.
You still felt like the dress was too short when you and Eric sat down on the couch.
You felt like he was staring at you when you noticed the couples in the room kissing and making out.
“You wanna head upstairs?” He asked as he took your hand.
Your heart jumped. “No, no I’m good. Really.”
“Come on.” He nodded his head in the direction of the stairs. “It’ll be fun!”
You shook your head. “No I don’t want to go upstairs.”
He looked disappointed but you stayed confident with your choice. You didn’t want that and you weren’t ready.
He recovered quickly and dropped your hand. “Alright! I’m just gonna go talk to a friend real quick, I’ll be back.”
You sighed in relief when you realized he wouldn’t push it on you.
He got up and you pulled out your phone, trying to decide if you wanted to text Donnie back.
You settled on typing:
Yeah yeah whatever.
You saw he read it but he didn’t respond.
What was with him?
Why couldn’t he just be happy?
You glanced up, noticing Eric talking to one of your friends. You noticed him glance back at you and then back at your friend. She handed him something and he left to go to the kitchen.
You went back to your phone, waiting to see if Donnie would respond.
You just wanted your friend back.
Why couldn’t he just... ugh no you had to stop asking that. He was being too judgemental and untrusting.
There was nothing untrustworthy about Eric.
He was just being crazy...
You glanced up again, noticing Eric at the drink table. Whatever it was your friend had given him, he was slipping it in his drink.
You looked closer.
It was some sort of... powder?
When he turned back around you immediately acted like you hadn’t been watching.
He made his way to you and sat down, a drink in each hand. “I thought you looked a little thirsty, so I got you a soda!”
He handed you the red cup enthusiastically.
No, he couldn’t be trying to spike your drink. He wouldn’t do that.
But he was looking at you so expectantly.
“Oh, thank you!” You swirled the soda suspiciously. “I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to corn syrup so... sorry.” You set the drink back down.
Again, he looked disappointed. Maybe even a little mad.
“Hey, We’re gonna go upstairs and play a game!” Your friend shouted from across the room. “Wanna join?”
“What game?” You asked, feeling incredibly nervous.
“Truth or dare!” She giggled. “You’ll love it!”
Eric jumped on that idea expectantly. “Come on lets go!”
“I don’t really...”
He pulled you up before you could even finish.
You wanted to stay where people could see you!
But... you WERE gonna be with your friends...
“Alright, Fine.” You settled. “I’ll go.”
“Awesome!”
You and your group headed up and down the hallway.
Your friend opened the door for you and let you in first. Eric followed closely behind you.
It was a bedroom. A very dark bedroom.
“Hey, We’re gonna head down to the bathroom and freshen up first.” One of your friends smirked. “You two have fun!”
“Wait, no-!”
They were already gone and the door was shut.
Eric had gotten you upstairs.
Alone.
————-
Donnie sighed, trying hard to focus on his work. “Why can’t y/n just listen to me.” He groaned to himself. “I’m just trying to help! How does that make me the bad guy?”
He continued wiring his latest invention, frustrated at how he kept messing up.
“It’s not gonna end well.” He growled. “It’s gonna end in heartbreak and I’m gonna have to pick up the pieces.”
“If y/n even trusts you with that.” Leo added from behind him, causing him to jump.
“Nardo, how long have you been standing there?” He glowered at him. “I’m busy.”
Leo held up his hands in surrender. “A while. Anyway, you’re just pushing y/n away.”
“But y/n isn’t listening to me!” He protested, dropping his tool. “I’m right!”
“Maybe, but you’re also being a jerk.” He shrugged. “Maybe she’ll get her heart broken but you could at least be there for support.”
“Oh no no no I’m not supporting that relationship.” He shook his head vigorously and picked up his screwdriver.
“Not the relationship, egghead.” Leo rolled his eyes. “Our friend?”
“Oh.” Donnie tapped the table in thought. “Yeah, I guess I shouldn’t have left y/n on read...”
“...And maybe go apologize?” Leo prompted.
“No she’s at a party.” He glanced around his phone, checking your location again. “Actually...” he leaned closer to stare at his screen, “y/n’s not at the party any more.”
“Perfect!” Leo clasped his hands together. “Go apologize!”
“It can’t wait?”
“Go!”
———-
You sat on the rooftop, clutching your jacket to your body and watching the city.
How could you have been so stupid.
How could have let something like that happen.
It was incredibly cold on the rooftop but you didn’t want to move. You didn’t want to go home. You CERTAINLY didn’t want to go to the lair either.
You just wanted to watch the city and pretend everything was okay again.
Why did you have to get your hopes up.
No one ever took interest in you like that unless they wanted something from you.
“Scoff, there you are!” Said the last person you wanted to talk to. “I thought you were in the building and spent about an hour searching for you.”
“Tracking device?” You asked, not even looking at him.
“Yep.” Donnie confirmed. “Now, might I inquire why you’re out here?” He glanced at his watch. “And not at your party?”
You stayed quiet.
“Something happen with Eric?”
You gave him nothing.
“I knew it!” He jumped up and cheered. “I was right! I was RIGHT! Ha!”
His every word made you feel colder and more embarrassed.
“I knew from the start! I knew he was untrustworthy!” He continued. “Eat that!”
Finally, he calmed down enough to sit next to you.
“Now, tell me, what did he do?” He leaned close expectantly. “Did he cheat? Did he kiss a girl? Did he try to get with one of your friends? Did he-?”
“He tried to rape me.” You spat out, bringing your knees to your chest.
Well I’m out of room XD
Part four up soon!

Connections and the Lack Thereof
At this point, my lack of any appreciation (exaggerating… a bit) for Max is probably coming through loud and clear, but I also wanted to touch upon her actions/words/beliefs in “Proof of Purchase.”  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I know she cared a lot about getting rid of that retrovirus… but also, if she’d just stopped and thought for a bit, I’d hope that she would realize how unfair she was being.  (Then again, this is Max, so she wouldn’t.)
I mean, to rephrase her background and stance prior to that episode.  She escaped Manticore years in the past.  When she did, she was absolutely confused until she figured out how everything worked, at which point she turned self-reliant, isolationist, and very guarded.  Then, she met Logan — a very rich, especially relative to the times, very well-connected man whom she started working with/falling for — and was able to take advantage of his money and connections to further her own goals.  I mean, even what she was doing in “Proof of Purchase” was thanks to Logan; it was his money from selling his painting with a doctor that he found (with help from Lydecker).
Meanwhile, Alec just got out of Manticore.  He’s still figuring out how things work without orders to either follow or to contravene, acting pretty similar to how Max did when she got out.  He has no connections, no money — except whatever he was earning from the boxing that got him in trouble in the first place — and nobody he can turn to for assistance.  And then he receives a bomb right next to his spinal cord and both 1) orders and 2) a threat in order for him to survive, the first of which he’s been conditioned to follow and the second of which is innately something he’d respond to.
And yet Max has the gall to act… well, to act like herself.  For one thing, she wasn’t there during the scenes with White.  It wasn’t a situation of “he thought he could run his game on a bad guy” because he was kidnapped???  It’s not like he thought, ooh, lemme just step over here and offer my services to White and his transgenic-killers and then screw them over.  It was a bit more along the lines of oh, shit, I’ve been kidnapped… let’s pretend to help to talk my way out of it followed by a subsequent bomb-injection and well, damn, now I’m gonna have to actually follow through or I’m dead.  Him agreeing to help White was a matter of self-preservation, not of choice, and — whether he made the right decisions throughout the process or not — he wasn’t acting cocky; he was acting like he was trying to save his own life.  Which he was.
And then, as if Max’s bitchiness about that weren’t enough, there’s also the implication that he should’ve told her, or should’ve come to her… and I find this just absolutely laughable???  She acts (throughout the series, not just here) as if she’s the most welcoming person in existence, regularly being all why the hell didn’t you come to me? to Alec.  I mean, maybe he didn’t come to you because, whenever you saw him in eps 1 and 2, you told him in no uncertain terms how unwelcome he was?  (And, btw, kinda seemed like you’d be perfectly fine with him dying???)  Or maybe because he was raised in Manticore, where you dealt with your own problems or were a liability to the mission and were either re-brainwashed or killed?
Anyway, I just find it hilarious — in a bad way — that Max is sitting on this relative pedestal surrounded by money and connections, and she’s looking down on the guy who just got out of Manticore, is generally hated by both Max and Logan for the whole virus thing, and has nothing to his name for relying on himself to try and save his own life.

The Leverage/Stargate fic I’ll probably never write
I have an idea for a Leverage/Stargate crossover fic but no drive to actually write it. So I’m going to lay down the plot summary of the story that exists in my head. If anyone wants to take some or all of this idea and flesh it out into a full story, you’re welcome to it.
AU!Eliot Spencer went to work for Stargate Command early on in its existence and has been there ever since. He's extremely good at his job but in a ruthless way that has everyone at best wary of him and at worst terrified. He's the guy you send on the most dangerous missions, but he's also the guy you send when you want something awful doing without any questions asked.
The Goa'uld have put a bomb in a child and killing the child is the only way to stop it going off and killing thousands? Eliot Spencer is your guy. The megadeathray gun is surrounded by slaves as human shields? Eliot Spencer is the guy who will blow it up while everyone else is busy arguing about whether there's a better way. Need someone to headshot a Goa'uld and not care about the innocent host? He's the guy who will pull the lever on your trolley problem while everyone else is still arguing the ethical ramifications.
They keep him around because he is really good at his job but also because everything he does is technically for the greater good and you can see the logic in shooting the guy with the alien virus before he can spread it and cause a plague but still, you'd think the guy would show a little remorse about shooting an innocent person in the head. So he doesn't really have friends in the SGC just reluctant allies, but he's doing good and saving the world in his own, violent way.
But then one of the science teams discover something that's giving off the same sort of energy readings as the quantum mirror and Eliot is there to act as bodyguard/escort to the scientists. They bring the shiny, aliens toys back through the Gate but then something gets activated by accident, zapping Eliot, and then suddenly canon!Eliot is there in the base, with an apron and a wooden spoon because he was in the middle of cooking dinner.
Naturally, he's immediately on the offensive because he's apparently been kidnapped and these people are all in military uniform, so he starts fighting and takes down six marines with a wooden spoon but then AU!Eliot is there fighting him and they're evenly matched. Neither can get an upper hand and they only stop when someone shoots them both with a zat while they're locked in combat and knocks them out.
Eliot wakes up heavily restrained and they try to explain that they think he's been pulled from a parallel universe and of course Eliot doesn't believe a word of it because it sounds like something from one of Hardison's weird TV shows, and the guy who looked like him was clearly a trick. He's scared that the other Eliot is part of some plot to get to his team and so of course he's not going to give them any sort of cooperation. Everyone else is scared of him because they know how scary their Eliot Spencer is and they don't want to get on the wrong side of him, but they need to get one of the techs to try and undo what was done, so they get one of the team to bring in the alien gizmo - and it's Hardison.
The Hardison of this world was still a computer genius and got recruited to get alien and human tech to work together. He doesn't really know Eliot because the techs tend to spend most of their time with other techs generally, but also that guy's scary. He really doesn't want to be in the same room as two of them, glaring at each other, because if their Eliot Spencer is the good version, he really doesn't want to know what the evil mirror universe Eliot Spencer is like. But he drew the short straw so he's got to come in and try to get some tech they barely understand to zap this guy back to where he came from.
Canon!Eliot recognises Hardison at once but thinks that he's here as part of a con as a rescue mission, so he pretends to have no idea who he is, but plays along. When Hardison starts explaining about parallel universes and alternate timelines and quantum mirrors, Eliot listens and pretends he might start to believe this technobabble and asks questions like he's starting to be convinced. The first test to send Eliot back to his universe doesn't work but he agrees to cooperate if Hardison keeps working to send him home, because he needs to get out of these restraints anyway if Hardison's rescue plan is to have any chance of succeeding. And the other people who are around standing guard or watching the events unfold are surprised that Eliot would believe Hardison over an alternate universe version of himself.
"Of course I don't trust me. I know me!"
But AU!Eliot knows him too and thinks that he's been convinced too easily and that this is a trick. He knows he would never be so quick to believe a total stranger and thinks that Eliot is just lying to get out of the restraints and then he'll start fighting everyone again, probably taking that tech as a hostage.
But while all this is going on, people are referring to Hardison by his real name and talking to him like he's been here for years, and canon!Eliot starts getting weirded out because Hardison would never use his real name in a con and he has a very distinctive tell when he's playing a part and he's not showing that tell now.
AU!Eliot wouldn't just announce that he doesn't think this guy is telling the truth so he beckons whatever senior officer is present over to the far corner so that they can talk quietly but he can still keep an eye on canon!Eliot and warns him about what he thinks the guy is planning. Meanwhile, Hardison is still running tests on canon!Eliot with the alien tech and now no one is close enough to overhear, so Eliot lets his hair hang in front of his face to shield his mouth from the security cameras and whispers, "Is Parker okay?"
Hardison just goes, "Who's Parker?" in a voice loud enough that everyone in the room can hear it.
"Damn it, Hardison!"
The senior office asks Hardison what happened and he repeats back exactly what Eliot said to him. That's what convinces Eliot that this is real because he knows that Hardison would never do anything to expose Parker and he wouldn't blurt something like that out in the middle of a con after all the years they've been doing this.
"You're not my Hardison, are you?"
"Your Hardison?!"
And Eliot tries to then convince them that he now believes them, even though they're more suspicious than ever because he was pretending to believe them before. Eliot just looks at Hardison and says, "I swear on your Nana's chicken, chilli caserole recipe that I won't hurt you if you let me out of these restraints."
Everyone else is really confused but Hardison is astonished because Nana's chicken chilli caserole recipe is sacred. It's a family secret, but she will only give the recipe to family members she deems worthy, meaning that only one of her foster kids has ever been told it and Hardison (who consists off gummy frogs and orange soda in every universe) has never so much glimpsed the page it's written on. It's a meal that is served on the specialest of special occasions and Nana would guard that recipe with her life.
"You know Nana's recipe?"
"I proved myself worthy at your engagement party. She gave me the recipe for the wedding."
"I'm married in your universe?!"
"Not legally." Because three-way unions aren't legal and besides, the guy they had officiate their wedding dropped out of priest school to become an insurance agent con artist, so it's not exactly official, but that's never stopped them. Hardison is still confused but thinks that maybe it wasn't legal because of gay marriage rules and this means he had an unofficial commitment ceremony to Eliot Spencer. He has to sit down while he processes this.
After some discussion, they let Eliot out of the restraints and he spends a little bit of time in the SGC while Hardison works on the tech. He talks to the alternate version of himself and suggests he take a cooking class and tells him he should get to know Hardison better because, "Once you get past the annoying surface part that makes you want to murder him, he's one of the smartest, bravest, and best people you could ever hope to meet, and half the irritating stuff he does is just to make you smile."
"And the other half?"
"He's just being irritating," but Eliot says this with a soft, caring smile that AU!Eliot hasn't seen in his reflection in a very long time and that makes him think it's worth giving it a shot.
And Eliot talks to Hardison too, telling him that he has absolute trust in his ability to work out all this alien tech stuff and get him home safely because he has people there who need him because he doesn't trust Hardison to feed himself any with more nutritional value than gummy frogs without him there to take care of him. And he convinces Hardison to take a chance on this universe's Eliot because if anyone can get past his defences, it's him. Or Parker, but she doesn't seem to be around in this universe.
And that seems like the perfect moment for Parker to appear out of a vent because she wanted to give herself a challenge breaking into a facility with more security than any museum and she's been listening in on all of this stuff as it unfolds.
So this universe's Hardison and Eliot convince the SGC guards not to shoot Parker because she has a really useful skillset, and canon!Eliot wishes them luck as he gets sent bak to his own world, where his Parker and Hardison are in the middle of tearing the criminal underworld into a million pieces to find out what happened to him.

Tell Me Your Story - Ch 9
Tumblr media
Alcina Dimitrescu x Reader
AN: Sorry about the long wait for this chapter! I do hope you enjoy it though :D
- Jamie
You had now lived in the castle for almost four months and your collarbone was as good as it could be. You were actually able to carry something heavy now without pain.
Not that Alcina ever let you carry anything anyway. After you had really gotten to know each other, you had come to learn she was overprotective. Very. Overprotective.
Sure you knew she was overprotective with her daughters. And you got that. They were her daughters after all. And after everything with that Ethan Winters. Hell you would be overprotective too.
But with you? It had come as a surprise as first, one of the meetings with mother Miranda and the other lords where you were forced to meet next to her side. The lycans had once more sneered at you, eyed you like you were their dinner and Alcina had brought you closer by your waist.
Heisenberg had said something about you being sweet as a cup of tea with lots of sugar and Alcina had actually growled at him.
But now you were used to it, her hands firmly taking their place on your shoulders every time one of the servants or maids would look at you in a different way. Her arm would go around you the moment she saw one of them touch you. How dared they touch what was hers.
Not that you had actually talked about what kind of relationship you had. All you knew was that it was a relationship with lots of sex and secret heated make out sessions.
You admitted you felt attracted to her. She was gorgeous, who wouldn’t? And sure now that you had opened up for more than just friends, you liked her. A lot. But love? Not once has it been mentioned, but you felt it. You both did. Though none of you would ever admit it, too afraid the other wasn’t feeling the same. Was it too early? Or maybe it was too late. Alcina knew there was a chance you wanted to leave the castle. Wanting to explore the world.
After seeing the countless of photos on your camera from the memories Doctor Quill and gotten you, she could see in your eyes how you longed to actually get out there and discover the world.
And she would let you. She cared enough for you to let you go if you made that choice. And if she could, she would go with you. She would follow you to the end of the world, discover everything with you.
But she couldn’t.
She knew her daughters couldn’t go anywhere where it was cold and she wouldn’t dare even try to take one of them out. They were her everything and especially after Ethan Winters, she became so protective of them. Their hunts were completely shut down and it had taken her mere months to let them go outside despite the weather being warmer than ever.
The picnic was only the second time she had let them go outside.
But she knew it would be difficult to go against Mother Miranda. But with the child being her vessel, she got her precious Eva back, perhaps it would be a tiny bit easier?
“Alcina?”
Alcina blinked her eyes and turned to see you standing next to you, your hand softly stroking hers. “Are you alright?”
Alcina sighed and got down on her knees, looking into your eyes. “Y/n… have you thought about… leaving this castle?”
She knew her heart would break if you said yes, but she needed to know. She needed to know wether she should let you go or let you stay. She would do whatever it took for you to be happy.
You stared at her in confusion, not expecting the question to pop up but you could see the worry in her eyes.
You covered her cheek and smiled softly. “If I’m ever leaving this castle, I will take you with me”, you whispered and she smiled softly back at you. “And the girls of course but who counts”
Alcina chuckled slapping your arm gently and you smiled leaning up to kiss her softly. She smiled into the kiss pulling you closer and you moaned into the kiss.
“But if I’m ever gonna take you anywhere, I believe we have a virus to destroy”, you said and Alcina furrowed her eyebrows.
“You… you want to destroy it?”
You nodded kissing her cheek. “I know your back hurts every time you go through the doors or sit by the desk thing”, you said making hand waves at the vanity in the corner of the room and Alcina chuckled.
“And I know the Cadou is a part of you, but it’s also a curse and I wish to free you from it. If it’s possible, I want to make you human again”
Alcina stood from the floor on her knees and carried you into her arms, you letting out a surprised yelp.
“Alcina!”
The woman laughed and walked with you over her shoulder, walking out of the dressing room and down the hallway.
“What the hell?”, Daniela whispered to herself as she and her sisters sat in living room, seeing you and their mother on the balcony, walking towards their mother’s bedroom.
The two other sisters turned as well and all three girls noticed the huge smile on their mother‘s face, Cassandra noticing the small pout on your face as well making her chuckle.
Their flies stood on the coffee table, drinking blood from a small bowl in front of them. They all looked up as well, Daniela’s scratching its head.
“Alcina!”
Alcina walked inside her bedroom and immediately threw you onto the bed, crawling on top of you. “What was that for?”, you asked with a huge laugh and Alcina smiled wide at you.
“You are the most amazing human I’ve ever met”, she whispered and immediately kissed you hard making you moan.
“Do you think they have intercourse?”, Cassandra asked her sisters and they both stared back at her, their flies doing the same.
“Sex Cass. They’re having sex yes”, Daniela corrected her sister and the brunette rolled her eyes going back to her book. Bela simply shook her head with a small smile before going back to her own book.
The flies stared back at each other for a moment before drinking from the bowl again.
You sat by the dining table and ate some chicken when the doors bursted open and you almost jumped out of your seat, having been too gone in your food. You were a food lover by heart and you never shared your food with anyone.
The three girls ran towards you and you frowned at their behavior. “We got something for you!”, Daniela said with enthusiasm and you nodded, food still filling up your mouth.
“I’m sorry did we interrupt your dinner time?”, Bela apologized and you swallowed your food before shaking your head.
“It’s fine. What’s up?”
Suddenly Alcina stepped in with something in her arms, and you all turned to her. Though you noticed Cassandra kept staring at your plate of food.
“What’s this?”, you asked curiously and Alcina came over to the table and placed the big bottle on the table.
“This. Is the Cadou”, she said and you widened your eyes at her.
“That thing is inside you?”
“Yes”
You couldn’t widen your eyes more even if you tried. Daniela looked worried at you for a moment, thinking your eyes would pop out. You turned to the parasite and stared at it with interest, your food all forgotten now. Although you noticed in the corner of your eye that Cassandra’s interest was suddenly peeked.
Silence took over the room as you studied the virus with interest. Daniela was about to open her mouth to say something when she felt a firm hand on her shoulder, stopping her. She looked up at her mother and Alcina gently shook her head.
“Alright”, you eventually said and they all turned to you. You took a deep breath and placed your hand carefully on the bottle.
The images immediately overflowed your mind. The cave for the home of the Cadou, a woman walking inside and discovering it, getting infected. The Cadou infecting several humans and even some animals. People dying from the thing.
The images changed and a man appeared in a white lap coat, studying the parasite. You immediately recognized the man as doctor Quill.
He wrote something down in a note book and you looked further down, seeing the text. But suddenly the parasite started to scream and doctor Quill quickly got back, groaning.
”So you’re just like the others. Weakness; praziquantel”
You gasped and looked down at the glass bottle, the glass cracking slightly. You looked up at the others and noticed how close Cassandra stood.
“Get back!”, you yelled and jumped at the brunette, the glass shattering into thousands of pieces.
Daniela and Bela jumped back as well, Alcina immediately bringing her arms around them in protection while you landed  on top of Cassandra on the floor.
“Mama!”, the girl cried out and Alcina immediately ran over to you and Cassandra, seeing you unconscious.
Bela was quick as well, removing you from Cassandra so the girl could hug her mother. “Mother their breathing is minimal”, the blonde said and Alcina kissed Cassandra’s face before she turned brought you into her arms.
She brought two fingers to your pulse point and felt the faint beating of your pulse. “They’ll be fine”, she whispered and all three girls sighed in relief.
“They… they saved me”, Cassandra said quietly and they all turned to her. Alcina brought her hand to her daughter’s face and caressed her cheek softly.
“Thank god they did”, she whispered and Cassandra leaned into her mother’s touch. She turned back to you and stared at your relaxed face, seeing a cut just above your eyebrow. She leaned down and kissed the scar gently.
When you woke, the sunset was just setting, the soft orange color forcing its way inside the bedroom through the curtains. You immediately felt a headache coming and you brought your hand to your head, feeling a tiny scratch on your forehead.
You tried to move but you were stuck in place and noticed the large arm that was holding you around your midsection. But the arm suddenly moved allowing you to turn around and you met Alcina’s eyes.
“Hi”, you whispered and she looked down at you with soft eyes.
“You saved her”, she whispered and you furrowed your eyebrows.
“What?”
“Cassandra. You jumped in front of her”,
You remembered back to the bottle with the Cadou and how it shattered. “Of course I did”, you said and Alcina smiled softly at you. “She’s your daughter. I care about her. About all of them”
A tear fell down her cheek and she brought her hand to your cheek, leaning down for a kiss. “Thank you y/n”
You brought your hand to her cheek and forced her to meet your eyes. “Don’t cry”
She let out a chuckle and kissed your forehead, more specific the scar and you had expected it to hurt but to your surprise, it was a nice feeling. You moved closer to her and she brought her arm around you, pulling you protectively close, her lips lingering on your scar. It didn’t take any of you long to fall asleep.
When you woke again, you could still feel her against you, her lips against your scar. You smiled at the warmth and love you felt and sighed in satisfaction. You laid still for a few minutes, enjoying the moment with her, watching her sleep.
You were getting used to wake up with her every day and yet you always found yourself surprised every morning.
How did you end up with the most amazing woman you’ve ever met? How did you deserve her love and care?
Certainly there must be some things in life that you must have done to earn such beauty as your love.
You sighed and moved away from her warmth, kissing her cheek before getting out of the bed. You walked over to the window to the balcony and looked outside, seeing the sun standing tall.
You smiled and opened the door, inhaling as the summer breeze flew through. You walked out and looked over the beautiful view of the village, the sun shining down on the small houses.
You could see the people walking around, greeting each other, the smiles and laughter no doubt filling the air.
You wish you could hear it, but the castle was jus too far away. You sighed, accepting you wouldn’t get further than this as of now. Maybe one day when you’ve gotten rid of the virus for good.
You suddenly felt hands on your shoulder and you smiled at the feeling and turned to look up at Alcina.
“Slept well darling?”, she asked and you nodded. You looked up and smiled at her, receiving a smile in return.
“I thought about going down to the village. Looking for something for the Cadou. Maybe some books on reading about it further”
Alcina shook her head gently and took a hold of your hand. “I have a library in my castle. A section with only books on the Cadou. You will find more information in that section than you will find in all of Romania. Trust me darling”
You nodded in acceptance and Alcina sighed. “So that’s what you’ll be spending the day doing”, she said and you nodded.
“I want to free you from that pain”
Alcina gave a soft smile and crouched down in front of you so you were eye level with her.
“Darling listen to me. I appreciate the hard work and dedication you put into this”, she said. “But there is a chance it will kill me”
You stayed silent, watching her with tears forming in your eyes. She sighed and pulling you closer by your waist, covering your cheek. “And I want you to understand something. The past couple of months has been… overwhelming”
You nodded, understanding completely what she meant. “But also the best months for a very long time”
“Me too”, you said and she smiled kissing your forehead gently.
“It’s been decades since my heart has beaten so fast. Every time I look at you. Every time I hear your voice. Every time you smile”
“Babe stop I’m gonna cry”, you chuckled, feeling tears form even more. Alcina chuckled and leaned down, kissing you softly.
“Don’t worry darling. I will hold you if you do”
You chuckled and kissed her once more, feeling yourself falling in love even more. You suddenly pulled back and looked into her eyes. “What is it darling?”
You stared into her eyes, feeling your heart beat faster at the look in her eyes. They showed nothing but love. “I–“
“Mom mom mom mom mom!”
Alcina actually groaned at the interruption and kissed you once more before standing from the ground, the pain easy to spot in her eyes. “Babe–“
“Go get yourself ready for breakfast. I’ll meet you in the dining room”, she interrupted you and you sighed watching her leave. You hated seeing her in pain and you were determined to take that parasite out of her and make her human again. And you would do whatever it takes.
“What’s wrong Daniela”, Alcina said as she walked down the stairs towards the living room and once she entered the doors, she discovered the reason for her daughter’s outburst.
“Hello dear sister”
Alcina hardened her eyes and stepped forward. “What are you doing here Heisenberg?”
“What? Can’t a brother visit his dear sister?”
“No”, Alcina said simply and the man rolled his eyes. “Heisenberg if you don’t have a reason to be here, I must ask you to leave”
The man pulled out a letter from his pocket, Alcina frowning as he handed it to her. She opened it and immediately noticed it was from Mother Miranda.
“Have you read this?”, she asked after a few seconds of silent reading. Heisenberg shook his head and Alcina sighed reading it one more time, making sure she was reading correctly.
“What it is?”
“Mother Miranda. Thank you Heisenberg. You can leave” And with that, Alcina left, leaving Heisenberg alone by the entrance.
“Alcina wait! What did it say?”
Alcina walked up the stairs angrily, her steps easily heard from her bedroom. You frowned and looked up from your book, watching the door for a moment. A few seconds went by, the steps getting louder and louder.
Hadn’t you known it was her, it would terrify the hell out of you. The door bursted open and you immediately noticed how hardened her eyes were.
“This! Mother fucking Miranda!”, she yelled, throwing the letter onto the table and you widened your eyes at the language. You watched her walk around the room, anger filling her eyes. But as the seconds went by, the anger slowly faded and sadness took over, tears forming.
“Alci?”
The woman turned meeting your eyes and she smiled at the sight of you, sitting in her bed beneath the covers, a book in your hands. You looked at her with worry, a soft frown taking over as well. She let out a small chuckle and walked over to you, sitting down in the bed next to you.
Without a word. She took off her hat and gloves, placing them on the small table, the hat hanging on the bed frame. She started opening her dress and without a word, you helped opening it from behind. You immediately kissed her bare back, the moment the dress was gone and she smiled, closing her eyes at the feeling.
She stood and took it off completely, hanging it back in her closet. You watched her now standing in her beautiful lingerie. It was black with flower patterns, almost see through. It was gorgeous. She was gorgeous. And you smiled at the sight. She was more beautiful when she was vulnerable. Definitely more beautiful.
She barely showed that side of her and while you loved her fierce and dominant side, watching her vulnerable and submissive was such a beautiful look. You loved her. Truly loved her.
“What?”, she suddenly asked, noticing how you were staring at her. You blinked your eyes as you came back from your own thoughts and gave her a smile.
“You’re so beautiful Alci”, you whispered and Alcina smiled back at you. She walked over to you and sat down next to you. Placing her hand in your cheek, she pulled you closer and kissed you softly.
“I love you”, you whispered and she pulled back, looking into your eyes. You felt your heart beat faster at the waiting. She looked at you without any words coming out. It was mortifying. Sitting and waiting. Was it too early? Did she not feel the same way? Had you gone too far?
“Alci–“
“I love you too draga mea”
Your smile slowly spread as you stared into her eyes and you immediately kissed her again, your kisses burning with passion. She kissed you back with just as much passion and you felt yourself falling harder and harder for her. Though you were sure it was impossible.
When you woke the next morning, you felt her arm around your naked form, her mouth against your scar, in almost a protective manner. You groaned and moved out of her arms, despite her protests in her own groans. You sat up in the bed and stood, walking towards the bathroom.
On the way you noticed the letter on the table and curiosity got the best of you. You walked closer and read the first few words carefully, widening your eyes at them.
Ethan Winters was alive.

Ashes [Chapter 1] by lickitysplit
Fandom: Resident Evil Characters: Jill Valentine/Carlos Oliveira Rating: M (Mature)
Summary: A year after the destruction of Raccoon City, Jill is ready to put the past in the past and get back to her life. When she and Chris are recruited to go after Wesker, it seems like the perfect opportunity... until she's partnered with the last person she ever wanted to see again.
Read below or on AO3 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Jill jumps when a hand presses to her arm, and she swings her gaze from the window. She relaxes immediately when she registers it was just Chris, slumping a bit in the back of the taxi as she catches her breath.
“You okay?” he asks, half-concerned and half-laughing.
“Yeah. Wool gathering.” She shakes herself and blinks at him. “What is it?”
“Just wanted to check,” he says. “You seem nervous.”
Jill chuckles a bit to hide her nerves that are very much on edge. “Nah,” she scoffs, shifting in her seat to adjust her seatbelt.
“I get it if you are. I mean it’s not every day we meet with the feds.”
“Maybe for you,” she laughs, “but I saw plenty the past eight months or so. No big deal.”
Chris’ lips press together in that look he gets when she makes light of Raccoon City. But he nods and turns to look straight ahead as the taxi weaves through the traffic. “Still…”
“Don’t tell me you’re nervous,” Jill says, keeping her tone light. “You’ve been meeting every official who’s crawled out of the woodwork. This should be a cakewalk for you.”
“County, yeah. State sometimes. But the DOJ?” Chris shakes his head. “This is gonna be big. I can feel it.”
Jill folds her arms and turns to look out the window again. He’s probably right; Chris usually is.
The taxi pulls up outside of a slick-looking office complex, and Chris pays the fare as Jill climbs out. She holds her hand up for shade against the late morning sun that is reflected brightly off the windowed stories. “Looks like something the feds would waste money on,” she comments after he joins her on the sidewalk.
Chris chuckles before giving her a nudge. “Let’s go.”
They pass through metal detectors that are set off by Chris’ weapon, which he surrenders at reception while they present their ID’s. Jill eyes the Glock almost longingly as it is tagged and set inside a locker, scowling a bit as Chris is handed a ticket to retrieve it later. It’s not fair that he’s been allowed to keep his weapons while she hasn’t, but that is an argument she’s been having with anyone who cares to listen for months. Not that it's gotten her anywhere.
She takes her license back from the receptionist before being pointed towards the elevators. They wait in silence until the doors open, and when they step inside Chris presses the button for the fifth floor. “Did you read the stuff I sent you on this guy?” he asks once the elevator begins to move.
“Yeah,” Jill replies. “Agent Donner, DOJ, blah blah. Probably wants to ask us about everything again, like we haven’t told them everything we know about Umbrella a thousand times.”
Jill can practically feel him give her a side-eye, which does little to help her already dampened mood. “Maybe not.”
“If it was just you, maybe not. But all I’m good for now is giving blood samples apparently. Can’t let the bioweapon have a badge.”
Her tone is harsh, and she hates taking it out on Chris. It’s not his fault that he’s been allowed to keep working, now reporting to the county since Raccoon City is gone. But it still stings that whatever powers-that-be that still exist won’t trust her to come on full time as an agent. Nobody knows Umbrella more than the former S.T.A.R.S. team, and as one of the surviving members, it’s beyond frustrating that she’s the only one not allowed to actually do anything.
The elevator dings and they step into another reception area. The secretary offers them something to drink before heading down a hallway, leaving them to wait. Jill examines the pictures on the wall, most of which are group photos of recruitment teams by year, alongside a handful of formal portraits of agents in dress attire. A pang presses sharp into her stomach, thinking of the similar memorial wall in the police station. Do all law enforcement groups have such traditions? Jill had never thought to wonder before.
“Agent Redfield!” They both turn as a man enters from the hallway, walking over to shake Chris’ hand. “I’ve heard so much about you. Welcome.”
“Thanks.”
“And Miss Valentine,” he continues, turning to her with his hand outstretched. “A pleasure.”
“Agent Valentine,” she corrects as she returns the shake.
He clears his throat. “Of course. Henry Donner. Let me show you where we’ll be meeting.”
They exchange a glance before following Donner down a long hallway. At the end is a meeting room, and conversation stops as they are introduced to a handful of other agents. Two are also from the Justice department, one from FEMA, and the final one is an FBI agent. It annoys her how Chris seems impressed, taking a seat quickly once the introductions are done.
“Do you need anything? Coffee?” Donner offers.
Chris declines but Jill decides to get to the point. “Why are we here?” she asks.
Donner clears his throat. “As you can imagine, the United States government is interested in finding all responsible parties for the unfortunate incident in Raccoon City. The FBI and the Department of Justice have been working closely together to track down the former executives of Umbrella, as well as information on any and all scientists who were knowingly or even unknowingly working on bioweapons.
“The search is going well,” he continues. “We’ve taken dozens of people into custody, and thankfully many former employees of Umbrella have come forward to volunteer information.” Donner glances around the room. “However, the investigation is not moving as quickly as the department, or even the president, would like. That’s why we’ve asked you here.”
Jill sighs. This seems like another afternoon of questions going hours on end, and she tries to think of a way to shut it down quickly. “What do you want exactly?”
“Your help, Miss— Agent Valentine,” he replies with a little wink.
Jill narrows her eyes as Chris quickly interjects, “We’ve given dozens of interviews. They’ve been recorded and on tape, we’ve handed over everything we know from our investigations. What more can we give you?”
“Agent Shields?” Donner prompts.
The one from the FBI stands, walking around the table as he carries a folder. “We’re prepared to bring you both on in an official capacity. Not as members of the department, mind—that would be impossible giving the time constraints. Rather, you would be sworn in as ad hoc agents, to assist with finding one particular suspect.”
Shields lays the folder down in front of Chris, and he opens it as he moves it so Jill can also see. Her eyes go wide as they fall on the picture paperclipped to the front cover. “Wesker?” she asks in confusion, looking up.
“He’s dead,” Chris argues. “He was killed in the Arklay Mountains.”
“We have reason to suspect he is alive,” Shields replies.
There is a moment of silence as Jill absorbs the information. Wesker, alive? Images of the mansion and the last time she had seen him form a grotesque slideshow in her mind. “That bastard,” she mutters. “He started this. He’s behind all of this.”
“How do you know he’s alive?” Chris demands.
“There’s intelligence the federal government has received that he’s been spotted overseas,” Donner replies. “I can’t indulge too much, but his identity was confirmed via DNA. Only…” He clears his throat, glancing at the other agents. “There were markers in his DNA that indicate some kind of mutation. We’re working with FEMA and the CDC to identify exactly what and how he has mutated, and there is suspicion that it’s an ongoing condition. Which is why we must find him, and fast. There’s no telling what he has, and what he can spread.”
Donner glances at her, and Jill’s face heats. “If he was infected with something, you’d know it,” she says. “It’s not like the infected were hard to miss in Raccoon City.”
“We know it’s not the T-virus,” the FEMA agent interrupts.
“It’s a yet-unidentified strain,” Donner continues. “Further intelligence from other Raccoon City survivors confirm at least one other Umbrella strain exists, known as the G-virus. Whatever is in Wesker, it’s neither of those, as we have samples of both.” He nods at Jill before saying, “You have antibodies from the vaccine you were given, as does Sherry Birkin, another survivor who had been inflicted with the G-virus. But we can’t say for sure that Wesker has such a precaution. And until we know for sure, we need him in custody, or else the entire world is at risk.”
Jill’s heart pounds as she looks back down at the file. Finally, a chance to do something, get the hell out of the lab and her cramped apartment where she’s under near-constant surveillance. A smile curls on her lips as she thinks of finding Wesker and bringing him in, right after she puts her foot right up his ass.
“So you’re sending us to find Wesker?” Chris asks. “Why us?”
She resists the urge to poke him. “Do you want to do this or not?” she hisses.
“Of course I do. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Wesker since that damn mansion.” He frowns at Donner. “You have every agent probably looking for him. So why us?”
“Chris.”
“It’s a fair question,” Donner says. “Truth is, we’ve been chasing him for well over a month. There’s just not enough information to get a lock on him. We can’t predict his movements, and with almost everything from Umbrella now destroyed, we’re fumbling in the dark trying to guess his associates, his contacts, find his safe houses.”
Shields leans against the table and taps on Wesker’s picture. “You two worked with him. You know him, his movements, how he thinks. We’re confident if we put you in the field, you’ll be able to identify the right movements for the department.”
Jill is nearly vibrating with excitement. “You’re going to deputize us then?”
Donner nods, and Jill grins, giving Chris an elbow. “Come on, Redfield, don’t you want to partner with me again?”
He gives her a wry look, but Donner shakes his head. “You won’t be partnering together. That was the original plan, but things have changed.”
Jill’s brows go up as Chris looks unconvinced. “What changed?”
“New intelligence points to Wesker making contact with an arms dealer,” Shields explains. “Seems like he’s running out of cash and needs to sell a few secrets. Problem is, we don’t know which dealer.”
“We’ve narrowed it down to two,” Donner finishes. “You’ll both be sent on recon with an escort. Interpol is also interested in securing Wesker, and we’ve been given additional support from the UN to find him.”
Now even Jill is impressed. “Interpol? Really?” She decides she doesn’t care what Chris says; this is too good to pass up. “I’m in. I’ll do it.”
“Me too,” Chris agrees, closing the file. “Finding Wesker is what’s important.”
“Great!” Donner rubs his hands together as he stands. “Let’s get started then. You’ll need to fill out some paperwork, get briefings, and we’ll take care of onboarding this afternoon. Follow me.”
They say their goodbyes and follow Donner out again, who takes them back towards the elevator. “Oh, wait here,” he says once they return to the reception area. “I need to get a few things. Then I’ll take you down for processing.”
As soon as they are alone, Jill turns to Chris with eyes wide with excitement. “Can you believe this?” she whispers. “The fucking FBI is sending us on a mission. We’re working with fucking Interpol. Can you believe this?”
“No,” Chris chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. “This is the last thing I expected. I mean, can they do this?”
“It’s the government, they can do whatever the hell they want.” Jill sighs, her eyes closing briefly. “Finally, I’m going to get back to my life. I’ve been sitting around for months as they’ve poked and prodded and ran every test on me, and even with a clean bill of health they still won’t let me go back to police work.” Jill smirks to herself, folding her arms. “Bet that county sheriff is gonna eat his words now. Not cleared for duty my ass . Can’t wait for the prick to find out I’m an FBI agent now.”
Chris gives a snort as Jill enjoys her moment of smugness when Donner returns. “Perfect timing! Your partners just finished their own briefing, let me introduce you—Redfield, this is—”
But Jill doesn’t hear the rest, because as she turns, her smile melts into surprise when she sees Carlos Oliveira standing in front of her.
He looks exactly the same, without the blood and grime. Same curly hair that is way too long and falling into his eyes; same dark eyes that remind her of a puppy dog, eager and bright; same build, tall and broad and definitely a soldier. Her face heats as they stare at one another for a long moment until Carlos breaks into a grin. “Supercop! Are you kidding me? How are you?”
Before she can answer he sweeps her up into a hug, and Jill gives an oof as she is squeezed tightly against him. His arms are solid and his grip is strong as he presses his cheek to hers, but Jill is in too much shock to return the embrace. When he finally releases her, he keeps his hands pressed to her arms, smiling wide as he looks her up and down. “Thought they were messing with me. I can’t believe it’s really you! You look great!”
Jill stammers, “C-Carlos? What are you doing here?”
She looks around for an answer. Chris and the other guy are chatting, but Donner gives a nod. “I thought it would be a good idea partnering the two of you,” he says. “Oliveira’s been working with the UN in establishing protocol for viral outbreaks around the world.”
“I’m a liaison,” Carlos grins. “Pretty sweet, huh?”
“But you…”
She shakes her head to clear it, not even sure what to say. Thankfully, Carlos releases her arms, turning to Chris with his hand outstretched. “Redfield. Heard a lot about you. Nice to meet you, man.”
“Uh, same,” Chris answers awkwardly, glancing at Jill. “You’re the one that rescued Jill in Raccoon City, right?”
“I rescued him,” she mutters.
“Yeah, supercop here saved my ass more than a few times.” He pats the other man on the shoulder. “You teaming up with Nathan here? That’s awesome.”
“But what are you doing here?” Jill asks, louder this time.
All four men look at her. She can feel the color blooming on her neck, but she refuses to be the first to glance away. She had not gone through all the shit from the past year and a half, hell the past ten years : surviving the army, putting up with every comment and remark when training for Delta Force, fighting and clawing her way to prove that she was more than a girl with a gun, surviving a zombie apocalypse and a damned nuclear bomb to be ignored now.
“Well?” she demands.
“What do you mean?” Carlos laughs. “We’re partners again. Ain’t that great news?”
Partners. With Carlos Oliveira. The last man on Earth she had ever wanted to see again.

A quote prompt if possible- “holy f*cking guacamole?!?” (bc the idea of Vision saying that is really funny imho? 🤣)
"Just stay still for a bit, okay? This'll only take a second,” Tony stated plainly, his face inches away from one of the many projected screens that surrounded him.  Vision nodded, his eyes trailing down to the cord that connected him to Tony's computer.  The update was unnecessary, but clearly curiosity had finally gotten the better of Mr. Stark and it was only a matter of time before Vision eventually gave in.  Vision did exactly as he was told, sitting quietly in the chair next to the large table to held Tony’s primary screen.  He watched helplessly as Tony tapped randomly in the air, picking out pieces and wires that seemingly connected his internal workings.
"It's quite alright. I have no place to be."  Vision smiled over at him awkwardly, uncertain whether this had been a good idea. Tony had assured him that it would be a quick and easy process, so he had hoped he would keep his word.  On the other hand, he wasn’t exactly known for his honesty.  Regardless, Vision kept an eye on every move Tony made.  He would be the first to know if something was amiss.
Wanda peeked around Tony’s shoulder, curiously scanning the screen.  She had followed the two of them down and was adamant that she be allowed to stay despite his insistence that this room was a “boys only” space.  Vision knew that was a lie as he had seen Miss Potts down here many a time, but perhaps that had been different.  Tony was right about one thing: There were many dangerous objects in this room and it was best for Wanda to not go poking around unsupervised.
"So...what exactly are you doing to him?"  Wanda asked, watching intently.  Her face gave away just how much she understood what she saw, a concept that caused Vision to chuckle softly.
Tony crossed the room, grabbing a small gadget from the other table before he answered her question.
"Oh you know...just some minor nicks and tweaks, recipes, satellite coordinates, Thank You note generator, upgrades, that sort of thing."  His tone made it difficult to pinpoint how much of his list had been serious.  Vision had yet to fully understand his sense of humor fully and while he had spent a great amount of time with Mr. Stark, actually processing humor and understanding it was a completely different set of skills.  One J.A.R.V.I.S. wasn’t able to fully comprehend.
Wanda squinted, eyeing Vision thoughtfully.  "He doesn't really need any of those things, does he?"  Vision smiled at her nervously.  “I thought he was...pretty perfect.”  She smiled back at him, her eyes lingering a bit longer than usual before she caught herself.  “Capable of those types of things on his own, I mean...”
Tony shrugged, oblivious to the staggering air that materialized between the two.  "Can't hurt. We wanna keep our boy in shape, don't we?"  Tony slapped Vision's shoulder, giving a breathy chuckle.  Moving to the other side of the counter, Tony created another screen, sliding his finger back and forth in random zig-zag patterns in a way only he could comprehend.
"It's just a regular procedure.”  Vision finally spoke up, reached out to grab hold of Wanda’s wrist in an attempt to calm her worries.  “There’s no reason to be concerned.  Trust me."
Wanda smiled again, looking a bit more relieved.  "It's not you I don't trust."
Tony scoffed, releasing a high chuckle. "Oh come on, Red.  I'm not gonna hurt him.  It's just routine, anything extra is just icing on the cake."  He continued poking around through Vision’s programming, scanning numerous lines of command prompts and coding lingo that was being transferred into his system.  “Plus, I practically built him.  Mentally anyway,” he added, mumbling under his breath as he continued.
"If you say so."  Wanda shrugged, curiously scanning the room as she looked at the other tech that filled the tables around her.  She wandered about the room, careful not to touch anything that may get her in trouble with the man who was watching her warily from his working position.
Tony kept himself unusually quiet, a fact that began to bother Vision as he went deeper and deeper into his core programming.  Something wasn’t right.  A fact that became glaringly obvious as he felt one of his internal personality systems shut down.  His eyes blurred, gripping onto the table as he felt himself begin to lose balance.  A loud whirring sounded in his head, his visual slowly shutting down.
"Except...we may have a bit of a problem," he could hear Tony say.
"What's that? You're routine maintenance not going so routinely."  Wanda asked, the two making their way back over to him.
"You play nice or you get a time out. I just uh...I might have...uploaded something with a bit of a bug.”  Tony snapped in Vision’s face, causing a strange jolt that woke up part of his system.  “Vision, you alright, bud?"
"I-I'm not sure. I-"  Vision stuttered, trying to hold himself together.  The bug had found its way into his internal processes, ripping apart anything it got its meaty little pixels on.  Even with a short scan, it t was impossible to locate just where it was hiding.  A sharp pain shot through him, confusion keeping him from locating just where the bug was hiding within his system.  Vision grabbed at his face, unable to hold himself together any longer.  "Holy fucking guacamole!  Can someone please, j-just-"  His visuals flickered, keeping him off kilter and only adding to the intensity of whatever emotions were flooding through him.
"Yeaaah that was definitely a bug..."  Tony mumbled, running back over to where he was initially working.  Frantically tapping on the projection, throwing things back and forth from his virtual monitor.
"Tony. Fix him."  Wanda demanded, gripping onto Vision’s shoulder to offer some sort of comfort.  “Vis, are you okay?”
Vision couldn’t stop the outburst.  Wherever the little bugger was, it was messing with his language processes.  "Can you please turn this God damn thing off?  Just put it back, exactly how you fucking found it!  It's too much. I can't-I can't-"  He tried to calm himself, fighting through his inability to finish his sentences.  The pain became nearly unbearable, but he had to search for a way to correct the error.   Vision activated the anti-virus scan to locate where the little bug had lodged himself.  “My systems are overloa-”
"Young man, if you don’t watch your mouth..."  Tony joked, clearly not as focused as he should have been and having a ball during the entire interaction.  Vision didn’t find the exchange very funny.  “Sorry.  Not the time.”
"Tony!"  Wanda yelled, kneeling down in front of Vision as she kept one hand on him at all times.
Tony pointed directly at her.  "Alright alright hey!  I don’t do well with a chaperone.  Can you back off?  Please?  Thank you."  The scan finally located the little bastard, and with the help of Mr. Stark, it was annihilated.  Tony let out a deep breath, leaning against the counter.  "Better?"
The pain stopped as his systems began to reboot, restoring his visuals and other senses.  Vision nodded, taking a moment for himself before fully answering.  Wanda sat quietly beside him, holding tightly onto his hand as he came to.  His settings seemed to have been reverted back to their original state before any alterations had been made.  Vision ran a quick scan to ensure that the bug was gone for good, only responding once the scan completed.
"Mr. Stark, I no longer wish to be subjected to your particular brand of upgrades."  Vision stated, patting the top of Wanda’s hand as a smile reappeared on his face.
"Harsh..."  Tony mumbled, turning off his monitor as he gave up on whatever else he had been working on knowing full well that Vision would not allow it after what had transpired.
Wanda looked at him with a worried expression.  “Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m quite alright now.  It seemed the bug stowed away into my personality chips and altered some settings.”  His eyes had fully stabilized and everything seemed to be back to normal.  He would make sure to do more in-depth scans once he was alone and able to fully concentrate, his trust to allow Tony to perform them himself entirely shattered.  “I must apologize for the foul language.”
“It’s okay, Vis,” Wanda chuckled.  “You weren’t yourself.”
"Maybe that should be yourself.  It was pretty funny,” Tony chuckled.  “And hey, at least we know now where the party button is.”

Note: Okay, so this idea came to me after I was thinking of some kind of imagine with Shane. I just so happened to hear this song from Hamilton and I got...sucked in. I have never lost a child, but this is how I see the reaction from both parents. Please don’t read if this is something too difficult. Thank you.
--------
After
When the world ended, you weren't alone.
Running through the fire-lit streets, your family was there beside you. Your husband Shane, and your son, Logan. Instinct had taken over and all you thought about was protecting your boys.
Then, you had found the quarry. You were finally safe, Logan was out of the line of fire, and Shane had gotten both Lori and Carl out of the terror that was the city. The Walkers were sparse and when they did show, they were usually alone, maybe three at the most, and they would be taken care of quickly.
Logan was older than Carl by a couple of years but still, the boys were the best of friends and looked out for each other. Just as their fathers were, they were partners through and through. And just like Lori was to Carl, you were Logan's protector and nothing was going to take your baby away.
At least that is what you told yourself before the Dead began to rise.
Nothing was certain anymore. Not safety, not life, not even having enough to eat. You had to be alert every second of every day. Logan was in your sight, or Shane's, at all times of the day. When you and Shane went for water, Logan was to stay with Lori while Dale and the Dixons watched for Walkers. It was a clear system. One that worked.
Until it didn’t.
Everything around you seemed too...cold. You wondered if what you were feeling was how the Dead now felt. If they could feel anything at all, that is. The world around you was dull, lifeless, and nothing seemed to want the sun to shine again.
Rain clouds rolled in the distance as you crouched in the damp dirt next to the camp. People, your new family, wandered throughout your homestead, carefully watching you as if they were waiting for you to crumble into dust and bones.
The only thing you could hear was a muffle of voices and the occasional branch that rustled in the cold wind. You couldn’t remember the last time you slept, let alone ate and you were starting to wonder if anyone could still see you. Or had you truly become a part of a dying world, too lost to see and understand?
Looking up at the sky, you were thrown back into the memory of the worst day of your life. One that changed your world forever and one that you never thought you would see.
———-
Before
Logan was adjusting to the world as well as could be expected.
He played with the other kids, helped out when he was asked, and never once complained about living in the woods. He had grown closer to Carl in the time since the first Dead began lumbering through the streets. They were as close as two young boys could get while not being brothers.
He played in the water with Shane, laughing as his father dunked him over and over, trying to get all the dirt and mud out of his hair. Sometimes, when you watched the two of them you could try and imagine that you were on some odd vacation. Maybe there wasn’t actually a virus spreading like wildfire and one day you would be safe again.
However, the fantasy never lasted very long.
It was late in the afternoon one day when you couldn’t find your son. You had been with Daryl Dixon, helping him clean the game he had brought back for the group. Daryl was a quiet one, but you preferred that. He didn’t expect you to talk and you were grateful for his silent company when he offered it.
Once you had finished with the deer, you went in search of Logan. The last time you had seen him, he had been with Carol and Andrea down by the water, helping with the laundry. Amy had been showing him how to skip rocks unsuccessfully. You have called his name and he had waved back, grinning broadly.
That was the last time you had seen your boy smile.
Walking through the camp, you checked every tent and in the RV, looking for Logan. “Dale?” You called up to the man on watch.
“What can I do you for, (Y/N)?” Dale asked.
“You seen Logan lately?” You asked and Dale shook his head. From his spot on top of the RV, he put his head on a swivel, searching the area, but he couldn’t spot the dark curls of your son. The same curls his daddy had.
“Sorry, girl, don’t see him,” Dale said and something twitched in your chest. You kept searching for him, but still, he was nowhere to be seen.
“I think he’s with Shane,” Jacqui said as she folded a couple of shirts.
“What?” You asked.
“I saw him following after his daddy when Shane went to go get more water,” she explained, but you were already shaking your head.
“No, he knows he’s not allowed to leave the camp. Not even with one of us,” you said, looking around, starting to panic. Logan knew the rules. There wasn’t much that you had to explain to him in the new world, but one thing always remained the same: stay at the camp. “Logan!” You yelled as you did another turn around the camp.
“Logan!” You yelled again, but his voice never returned. It was only a few more minutes that the sound of Shane’s car reached your ears. You ran to him as he got out. He looked at you confused.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, reaching for you.
“Where’s Logan? Is he with you?” You asked, leaning over to look in the car, but it was empty.
“Baby, what are you talking about?”
“I can’t find him and Jacqui said he went with you to get the water,” you explained in a rush. Shane’s face changed then from confusion to instant worry. His eyes flicked around the campsite and then he began shaking his head.
“He….he…” Shane stuttered.
“What?” You asked, trying to get him to focus.
“He tried to come with me, but I told him no. I told him to go back to you. He was only a few yards from the camp, (Y/N). He was supposed to go right back,” Shane explained. You stepped away from him, your hands shaking.
“He didn’t,” you told him, “I was with Daryl and he was supposed to stay put. I thought he was with Carl or Amy this whole time...oh my god.”
“He was supposed to come right back,” Shane repeated.
“Then where the hell is my son!” You screamed at him. Shane just kept shaking his head as you yelled at him. Just then, you felt arms wrap around you as Lori appeared and tried to get you to calm down.
“Shh, it’s okay, we’re gonna find him,” Lori said in your ear, but you pushed away from her. Carl was standing a few feet away and he looked just as worried as you felt. Shane looked at Lori and she at him and something felt...wrong.
“I can’t...I can’t breathe,” you said, your hands going into your hair. “Logan!” You yelled, but again, only the wind answered. Andrea, who stood by the fire, watched on with worry. She then looked over at Daryl and then nodded her head towards the woods.
Without being asked, Daryl picked up his crossbow and then unceremoniously grabbed his brother by his collar and dragged him towards the woods. Merle cursed at his younger brother, but followed him nonetheless. Whether he admitted it or not, Merle liked Logan and Logan liked him.
You turned back to your husband, staring up at him with wide eyes. “Find him.” He didn’t answer you and instead grabbed his gun and quickly went in the opposite direction the Dixons had gone in, Glenn followed quickly after, holding a baseball bat.
Feeling frozen in your own body, you collapsed by the fire. You knew you needed to get up and do something, but your legs wouldn’t cooperate. You tried to remember the last thing you had said to your son. Was it, “I love you” or did you just simply say his name? It was all a blur in your mind.
You felt the eyes of the rest of the camp on you as you sat there. Carol sat not too far from you with Sophia in her arms and Lori kept Carl close to her as well. Watching the mothers with their children had you snap out of whatever trance you had been in.
Before the Turn you had been a Park Ranger. You knew how to navigate woods and you damn well knew how to kill Walkers and track. Getting to your feet, you went to your tent and grabbed the gun Shane had given you, his backup service weapon. Clicking off the safety, you grabbed a knife and slipped it through your belt.
You ignored the looks from the others as you followed the path the Dixons had gone down. Daryl was the better tracker, but you could track almost as well and it didn’t take long for you to find their trail. Growing up in the woods of Georgia, the brothers knew how to stay hidden so you didn’t expect them to show themselves.
Walking among the trees, you kept your knife at the ready. Everyone had quickly learned that sound attracted the Dead like a moth to a flame. You rarely used the bullets when it was just a couple of Walkers.
Stepping around another corner, a slow-moving corpse appeared through the trees, stumbling towards you. You didn’t hesitate as you rammed your blade into its skull, kicking it away from you. Looking down at the monster, bile rose in your throat.
There was fresh blood on its mouth.
“Could be a deer,” you said softly to yourself, but then you saw something sticking out of its rotting ribs. Kneeling down, you grasped the handle of the knife that jutted from the Walker’s torso. Pulling it out, a silent scream came from your mouth.
It was Logan’s knife.
You and Shane weren’t comfortable with letting Logan handle a firearm just yet. Rick and Shane had always said once the boys turned fifteen and they wanted to learn, then they would teach them in a controlled setting. You had given the knife to Logan shortly after you reached the quarry. It was the one you always carried as a ranger.
He never let it go. He said it was as if you were always there to keep him safe.
Gripping it tightly in your hand, you struggled to your feet. “Logan?” You rasped out, unable to call for him. Every word seemed to die in your throat. Looking past the monster on the ground, you could see a blood trail.
If you weren’t looking for it, it wouldn’t look like anything, but you knew what blood looked like. Especially when it was from a wounded animal. “It’s a deer, it’s a deer, it’s a deer,” you repeated as you pushed on through the trees.
Blood was speckled through the leaves on the ground and smeared on a nearby tree trunk. Placing your hand against the stain, it was still warm and not yet congealed. Your hand fell to your side as you walked on.
Ahead of you, a fallen tree lay between two dying oaks. Blood was splashed across the top of it and as you moved closer, something was behind the trunk and it wasn’t moving.
“A deer,” you said again, your feet moving on autopilot. “It’s...it’s a…” your voice petered out as you reached the trunk and looked down.
There was Logan, your baby boy, covered in blood, and his chest was torn open.
Wailing echoed around you as if Banshees had come to take your soul. It took you a few moments to realize that you were the one screaming. Falling towards your son, blood coated your hands and your clothes. The sound called the Dead near, but you couldn’t care about them as your baby’s vacant eyes stared up at the canopy, his right hand still curled as if he was holding his knife.
“No, no, no, no,” you repeated over and over, trying to reach for him, but you didn’t know where to touch. Low growls echoed around you as two Walkers staggered toward you. You looked at them through the blur of your tears.
Suddenly, the first one dropped, a bolt protruding from its head. It didn't take long for the next one to fall the same way. Out of the trees came the Dixon brothers and when they saw what was before them, Daryl turned to his brother in shock.
“Get Walsh,” Daryl said to Merle who turned and ran, calling for the deputy. Daryl approached you slowly as if trying not to startle a mother bear with her cub. His eyes were on Logan’s body, carefully monitoring it. Some people changed within minutes, others took longer. “(Y/N),” Daryl began, kneeling down to you.
“I found his knife,” you said, staring at nothing in particular. “He tried to kill it, Daryl. He missed the head, Why wouldn’t he go for the head? We all taught him to go for the head, right?”
“We did,” Daryl assured you, trying to take the blade from your hands, but you pulled it against your chest.
“What are you doing? This is Logan’s,” you said, defensively. “This is Logan’s, you can’t have it.”
“Alright,” Daryl said, putting his hands up. “We need to step back, alright? Just a bit, girl.” You looked at him, confused.
“Why?”
“Because Logan is…he’s hurt and we don’t want him to hurt anyone else,” Daryl tried.
“My son would never hurt anyone,” you said, staring back down at his face. “He’s an angel.” Reaching out slowly, you gently pushed his hair back. “My soft, beautiful, angel.” Daryl watched on with concern, but also ready to pull you back at a moment's notice.
“(Y/N)!” Shane’s voice called through the woods as he and Lori ran towards you, Merle just behind them.
“Walsh!” Daryl yelled as he stood. Shane stumbled as he approached, his eyes widening at the sight. Shane looked at Daryl and then back at you and then down at his child. His knees buckled and Daryl caught him before he could hit the ground. “I need ya to listen,” Daryl said, trying to get the deputy’s attention. “We gotta move him away from her.”
“That’s my boy…” Shane said.
“I know,” said Daryl. Shane pushed away from him, walking towards you.
“I found him,” you whispered as Shane knelt next to you. “I knew I could find him.” Shane reached out lay his hand over his boy’s face and then he was sobbing.
“Oh god,” he cried, falling over his child, his only son. “My boy…” Lori was crying too and Merle and Daryl were watching the whole thing, not knowing what to do. “I’m so sorry, Logan,” Shane cried.
“Why wasn’t he with you?” You whispered and Shane looked at you in surprise. “Why didn’t you protect him? Shane? Why didn’t you protect him! Why is he….why was he here and not with you? Why? Why!” Shane tried to grab onto you, but you shoved him back. “No!”
“I’m sorry, baby,” he cried, his tears still flowing off his chin. “I thought… He was supposed to come right back.”
“You killed my baby!” You yelled, pushing him back again and Shane took the hit as he continued to cry.
“We have to move him,” Shane said, but you were shaking your head. You went to argue when movement caught your eye. Freezing, you looking down to see your baby looking back at you but without those warm brown eyes of his.
Instead, they were milky white.
A ghostly hand moved towards you as Logan reached out, but before you could take his hand, Shane had wrapped you in his arms. “No!” You screamed as he hauled you away. “No, no! That’s my baby! Logan! Logan!”
“It’s not him anymore, baby, it’s not him,” Shane said as he gripped you tight. You screamed in his arms, trying to fight back, but no fight was left in your bones. Shane kept pulling you away as you watched Merle lean over your boy.
“No!” You yelled as the older Dixon pulled his knife. Lori followed the two of you, keeping your view of Logan blocked. Shane sobbed in your neck as he lifted you up into his arms and walked you away from your child who was being put to rest for the final time.
————
Nobody spoke to you as you sat on the edge of camp.
Shane sat next to you, unable to move, let alone speak. Everything in his world had just gone out like a light. The way Logan had looked so...broken on the floor of the forest. He felt hatred rise in him, all of it directed at himself. How could he have let this happen? Logan was gone because of him.
Sitting there, you could hear the quiet sobs of your husband, but they did not fully resonate with you.
Why was crying? Had something happened? Was someone hurt?
It took your mind a while to catch up to your body as you too, were sobbing silent tears. You followed the path of your tears as they rolled off your face and onto the material of your pants, leaving small dark spots behind.
You began to wonder if a person could ever run out of tears. Was that possible? You couldn’t be sure. You did know, however, that when a person cried a lot, it was important to stay hydrated. Looking down at your waist, you searched for your canteen, but it wasn’t there.
Dried blood was stuck to the side of your shirt and you gently grasped the ruin fabric in your fingers. It felt like a strange paint, one you weren’t sure you would choose to paint with.
Looking back over at the camp, you could see the others glancing over at you and Shane who sat with his back towards your companions. You didn’t know much longer the two of you sat there before you heard the familiar tread of Daryl and Merle’s boots.
Daryl entered the camp and approached you. In his arms was your son. His face was covered, but you could see the tuft of dark hair sticking out of the blanket Daryl had wrapped him in. The younger Dixon gently walked towards you and Shane and placed Logan before you.
“I’m sorry,” Daryl said gently before turning away to go wash the blood from his hands.
Your son’s blood.
You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him, only staring at the space right above him. Shane, however, moved closer to the body, laying his hands over the wool blanket as if he could feel the life that was no longer there. Shane’s cries turned from silent to hoarse chokes of emotion.
Keeping your eyes on the same spot above Logan, you couldn’t look at him or your husband. You didn’t know if it was anger you felt or guilt, but right then it was too overwhelming to bear. Logan’s knife was still in your hand as your thumb worried at the handle, feeling the smooth wood against your calloused skin.
The sun began to dip over the hills and Shane got up. “I’m going to walk the perimeter. Make sure no more Walkers get through,” he said, though you weren’t sure you actually heard him or whether he knew that he had said anything at all.
Shane walked away, picking up his gun and you stayed put, still keeping your eyes on the horizon. The cold set in rather quickly and shook your bones. Your breath was visible before you, but you couldn’t move and anytime you shut your eyes for more than two seconds, all you could see were the milky white eyes of the creature that had become your son.
It was well into the night when Glenn approached you, a blanket in his hands. He gently placed it around your shoulders, making sure you were wrapped up tight before leaving you alone.
You knew you should eat something, but you couldn’t feel the hunger either. You couldn’t feel anything.
When Shane returned, he sat down across from you on the other side of Logan. “(Y/N),” he called, but you remained frozen. “Please, (Y/N), look at me.”
This time you did and what you saw confused you. You blinked multiple times, but the man in front of you did not look like your husband. This Shane was a shell, something had gone out in those eyes of his. A flame that could never fully burn again.
The two of you stared at each other for a moment, hearing the crackling of the fire in the background. “Shane,” you whispered, your throat dry as a bone.
“Logan,” Shane began, sending a rush of ice to your chest, “he needs to be buried, sweetheart.” Finally looking down, you stared at the bundle that was your child. You reached a hand out, but pulled it back at the last second. It didn’t feel right to touch him.
Not like this.
“He’s supposed to be in a cemetery,” you whispered into the night.
“I know, Darlin’,” Shane said.
“He’s not supposed to be buried in some unmarked grave,” you said. “He’s not supposed to be buried at all.” Shane crawled over to where you sat and pulled you into his side. You barely felt the weight of his body as he pressed a kiss to the side of your head.
“This is all my fault,” Shane said into your hair. “I am so sorry.” Dropping your head, you once again couldn’t look him in the face. Why hadn’t he walked Logan back to the camp? Why was he alone? Why had he gone off without telling anyone? Was he looking for you?
“If…” Shane continued, “if I could switch places with him…” he trailed off again and then was silent. You didn’t want to hear anymore. Not after today, today was too much already.
Though, you did agree on one thing. Logan needed to be laid to rest.
———-
Dawn brought light and neither of you had moved, but you knew it was time to get up. You knew you would mourn for the rest of your life, but Logan deserved better than being wrapped in a makeshift shroud before his crying parents.
You found a quiet place far from where the incident had occurred. Close enough to the water, but not too close that someone would accidently ruin the ground.
Shane dug the grave alone. Lori had offered to help, as did Glenn and Morales, but Shane had said no. He had to do this on his own. You sat next to Logan’s body, listening to the breeze, his knife still in your hands as you used it to cut away at a piece of wood to keep your hands busy.
As soon as Shane had finished, you rose to your feet. The others from the camp approached you both, offering a moment of silence as Shane bent down and lifted Logan into his arms. Carefully, he placed your son in the ground, adjusting the blanket to keep his face covered.
Looking down at him like this, you were reminded of when he would play in the blanket forts you and Shane use to build with him. The one time he had gotten trapped under the roof of one and claimed to be a ghost, chasing the both of you around the house.
You could imagine the smile on his face when you had tackled him on the couch, laughing. Shane had followed up with jumping on both of you as he used his best impression of a “scary monster”. Logan had laughed, slipping off the couch and telling Monster-Shane that his daddy was a cop and he fought monsters.
You had watched on with a grin from the couch as your boys wrestled on the ground. Shane as the monster and Logan as the cop. The moment had ended with a massive pillow fight that you had successfully won, and the prize? Hearing Logan’s laugh echo throughout the house.
It had been music to your ears.
Tears flowed again as you turned your face to the heavens, letting the memory wash over you with warmth. Slowly, you picked up a handful of dirt and sprinkled it over the grave.
Soon after, Shane did the same. “Goodbye my sweet boy,” you whispered to him and then one by one, the rest of the camp began filling in the grave to say goodbye to the laughing boy with the dark curly hair and the goofy grin.
You and Shane sat nearby, not speaking and not touching. The Walsh family was now fractured and nobody knew what to do about it. The others had pity and any time they would look at you and your husband, they were reminded that the new world would not stop taking until it had stolen all the light in the world.
As the dirt was smoothed over and the shovels were put down, you stood from your spot next to your husband, passing your new friends in silent. You ignored everyone as you kneeled down on the soft soil, pressing your hands into the ground.
Logan was finally at rest.
———-
After
Coming back into yourself, you shook your head as the memory once again settled in the back of your mind.
Logan had been buried for some time now and whether you chose to acknowledge it or not, you and Shane were still not quite...whole.
There were days when you never left his grave. Grass has slowly grown through the surface and the rain has made it the color of emeralds and while there was no marker, you knew exactly where your boy was.
Lori was kind as always, bringing you water if you needed it or offering to help Daryl with the hunts, but you continued to shake your head. You had always helped Daryl clean his game and you weren’t going to stop now.
Logan wouldn’t have wanted that.
Carl Grimes was the one, however, that constantly checked on you. You could see how much he missed his friend. He had many nightmares that would wake you up in the next tent over and then you would hear Lori’s soft voice coaxing him back to sleep.
Carl would sit with you by the grave and draw or just listen to the birds and the wind. When it was time to eat, he would convince you to finally take some food and wouldn’t leave until you proved to him that you were full enough. You had always liked the kid, but now? He was one of the only things that kept you together most days.
Shane was trying to give you space as he was still mourning in his own way. Shortly after the makeshift funeral, he had drowned himself in responsibility. He took on more watch shifts than before and went on more water runs too. He had become the group’s main protector, next to the Dixon brothers, and it was clear to everyone that he was doing it to keep his mind busy.
As for Daryl, he had just gone on a hunt that would last at least until tomorrow. He was going to see if he could find any larger game and decided to go alone. He did, however, ask if you were going to be okay while he was gone. You had assured your friend that you could handle his absence for a day or so. He had rolled his eyes and offered a small smile and then left with his bow on his back.
Looking out over the quarry, you heard footsteps and you didn’t need to turn around to see who it was.
Shane joined you on the ground, leaning back on his forearms. “Glenn is heading out with some others for a run,” Shane said.
“In the city?” You asked, keeping your eyes forward.
“Yeah, I guess they’re takin’ Merle this time. T-Dog isn’t thrilled,” Shane sighed.
“Are you going with them?” You asked.
“No,” Shane said and then paused. “Did you want me to?” It was silent for a moment before you shook your head.
“No, we need you here,” you whispered. Shane sat up straighter, folding his legs beneath him. You could see him out of the corner of your eye as he looked over at you, trying to see your face.
“I don’t know how many more times I can apologize, (Y/N),” Shane said after a moment, his eyes void of tears now. “I can’t stop thinking about that day and if I had just let him come with me or taken him back myself… I don’t know how to stop wondering about what I should have done.”
“He was stubborn,” you said. “He would have found a way to follow you anyways.” Shane’s mouth fell slightly open at your words, not expecting you to defend his actions.
“It should’ve been me. I should be the one lying in the ground and if I was, then he would be here next to you and you would be smiling.”
“No,” you shook your head, finally looking at him. “I would have Logan, but I wouldn’t have you. Do you honestly think I would be happy about that?”
“He was your baby,” Shane reasoned.
“And you are my...you are my person, Shane. I would never wish you to die, no matter how angry or sad I am. Never.” Shane let out a breath, letting your words sink in. He nodded silently.
“I had thought about joining in on the run,” he admitted, “but I’m staying right here. I’m not going anywhere.” You returned the gesture and looked out at the grave again.
“He’s gone, Shane,” you whispered, your fingers playing with the grass.
“I know.”
“He would have liked it here, don’t you think? It’s so quiet.”
“Yeah, he would have,” said Shane. “Baby, I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but I need you to know that I never…” he once again let the words fizzle out, staring down at his hands.
Slowly, your reached over and placed your hand on top of his, touching him for the first time in a long time. Shane froze beneath your touch and then just as slow, laced your fingers with his.
“Please don’t leave me,” you choked out and looked back at him, a desperation in your eyes. Shane shook his head and then leaned in, kissing you softly. You let it happen, finding peace in the feel of his lips on yours.
“Never, Darlin’,” Shane whispered. “I’m never leavin’ you.”
Curling up in his arms, the two of you sat there in the shadow of Logan’s grave, trying to feel the presence of your boy. Looking down at your boots, you noticed a small stem pushing its way through the emerald-green grass. The beginnings of a wildflower.
Staring at the start of new life, you leaned against your person and you smiled.
