the fact that irving canonically survives through the end of asunder to be at wynne's funeral is so fucking funny to me. nothing but love and respect for MY unstoppable cockroach morally grey machiavellian mage dad!!! he's survived in his position through multiple attempted rites of annulment and blood mage plots popping up left right and center around him. the chantry keeps trying to stamp him out but his dodge game is simply out of this world, divine. civil wars, political machinations and minefields, chantry atrocities, this wily old motherfucker is dodging and weaving his way through it all, not-quite-no-hits-taken-running-it-but-honestly-close-enough-under-the-circumstances style. if solas does succeed in tearing down the veil I would fully believe that one of the like three people still alive at the end of it all would be a very weary 90 year old first enchanter irving going 'oh this shit again huh'. the maker has cursed him for his hubris and his paperwork is never finished (affectionate, it's fine he canonically loves paperwork)

God forbid you ever criticize the lack of consequences Bakugou experiences in MHA, or suddenly you’ll find dozens of Bakugou stans pouring into your mentions to make a speech about how cruel you are for forcing him to eat cement. They’ll act as though “consequences” inherently involves throwing him into the dungeon or putting him in detention for 100 years and then moan about how him facing consequences would only perpetuate a cycle of abuse/discrimination.

Listen, it’s not really that much of a consequence if the “consequence” in question isn’t directly connected to his current or past bad behaviour. “Oh but his scars!” “When he died that one time!” “His guilt for getting kidnapped” None of those are related to his bullying, and in my opinion, that makes them insufficient as consequences in an arc about changing for the better.

The consequences I would actually like to see could be as simple as: Izuku feels sad/mad because of what he went through, or certain characters reflect on how Bakugou’s past impacts their perception of him. More introspection on the victim’s end is needed, Bakugou doesn’t necessarily need to be pilloried for the arc to be satisfying.

#No #listing off every bad thing that has ever happened to Bakugou doesn’t prove that he faced consequences for being a bully #What these types truly want is the most digestible redemption arc they can possible imagine. Where the bully character is let off the hook #in every way while the victim’s side of the story is overshadowed by the narrative focusing so much on the bully’s side #Also don’t you dare try to *But Izuku doesn’t hold a grudge!!! why do you want him to pray on Bakuchan’s downfall?#me.#Izuku isn’t a real person and his feelings on the matter are dictated by an author who clearly prioritizes Bakugou’s emotional development #and introspective over Izuku’s (who is reduced to the awful position of constantly approaching his for #bully with: *You’re doing great sweetie!* as opposed to actually reflecting on how the bullying affected him for the worse #anti bakugou #anti bakugo katsuki #anti horikoshi #anti bakudeku #mha critical #mha fandom critical #fandom discourse #MHA salt #anti mha fandom #my hero academia

you sighed, staring at the bright screen of your phone that illuminated part of the dark room. it’s been about almost an hour since he’s texted you that he was on his way back.

you knew this was his job and that he would be gone,, but you just can’t help but miss him. miss his cuddles, his warmth, his sweet words, just him in general.

its been almost four months, and you’re honestly starting to have renjun withdrawals. you miss his smile, his soft voice, his adorable giggles..

“baby!” he smiled, opening his arms for you to hug him. you smiled so widely you could feel your cheeks hurt.

“junnie!” you melted into his arms, inhaling the scent you’ve missed so much.

“hi my love..” he mumbled into your hair, arms wrapping around your waist as he waddled in.

you sighed, closing eyes and just letting yourself melt in his arms. “hi.. i missed you.. you looked so good, im so sad i wasnt there..”

he chuckled, wadding over to the bedroom with you still in his arms. “saw some signs that made me miss you a-lot, baby..”

you smiled, laying on his chest and just listening to his heartbeat as he talked about his experiences in all the different countries and the fans and the things that reminded him of you.

“-and then i saw this really cute kitten and- …” renjun looked down at you, smiling as he saw your eyes slowly flutter against your cheeks. “you tired, baby..?”

you drowsily hummed, nuzzling into him further. he fondly stroked your hair, cooing at your sleepy state. you always got like this, and it warmed his heart knowing that he could calm you like this..

“good night, baby. i love you..” he murmured, kissing your forehead and tenderly rubbing your back. you let out a hum, mumbling an “i love you” back to him and dozing off into your sleep, holding onto the man you loved.
