I just watched Nicky Ricky Dicky and Dawn straight for the past two days because of my lovely cousins, and I just gotta say it made me a bit emotional because of how much I miss the show like I remember when I first watched the show !!

My literally first thought was ‘hey.. they’re just like me and my siblings!’

Because there was literally no show at the time that I knew of that showed 3 brothers and 1 sister dynamics or at least mentioned it.

Granted they were Quadruplets but still.

@nosolaceofastraightanswer - saw your previous note in tag. You don't need to make a new post if you're worried about bothering me with your post. EVERYTHING you have added here is important and deserves to be seen. And I enjoyed reading your comments.

Blackman obliterated both Ritu and Emmy's characters. Everything you've added above makes absolute sense. I'm not sure which woman he was retaliating against, but the more I rewatch the show, the more I wonder if he was retaliating against EVERYONE. Especially the women of colour in the show (and the writers who were just trying to give authenticity and consideration to their story-arcs.

He made Allison cross line after line in the previous season, made all the fans hate her by making her sexually assault Luther, betray everyone, kill Harlan and generally just be a ball of hatred to everyone and everything the entire season 3.

And then with season 4, they deprived her of any progress to move past that role, and erased Ray without a word. She did almost nothing of substance in this season except be there to cause tension between the other characters. The ONLY scene that showed her in an important scene was a CUT scene embracing Klaus when he's at an alcoholic support meeting.

Lila was criminally underused in the entire show. She became an appendage to Diego, and, like Allison, was just used to bring tension to the family and to throw in a sarcastic comment once or twice. This season, was used to help destroy not only her character, and Five, but the entire season as well. Her relationship with Five will be primarily what people remember this season, and it's so gross that Lila (and Five) have to wear that. Because it never should have happened.

Watching some of the interviews with the whole cast, it feels like several of them are trying really hard to spin it to keep a smile on. David Castañeda was clear about how he didn't approve of this final season. I hope the other actors, writers and crew feel safe speaking out about their experiences if they choose to do so. They deserve to be heard if they wish to speak out.

The more I think about these VARIED and MULTIPLE accusations against Blackman, the more I re-evaluate the entire series, and the more I can see the cracks within the entire show. And the more I have to wonder just what the fuck he was trying to accomplish this entire time with his transphobia, racism, sexism and general toxic gross behaviour.

If we don't keep these conversations going, people like this will continue to be platformed and in power. PLEASE continue the conversation here by adding more crucial context to what is happening. Please, let's recognise this fucking scumbag for what he is. Keep the conversation going. Get this piece of shit recognised for what he is.

Throughout the show’s four seasons, sources claim to Rolling Stone, Blackman would make what they viewed as homophobic and transphobic comments, including juvenile and perverse commentary on individuals’ sexualities and wondering aloud about people’s anatomies. “He found it very funny, like the butt of a joke,” one says. Again, sources claim, Blackman was clever in the art of the spin, attempting to pass off inappropriate comments as harmless jokes and innocent questions.

“He could be very good at dropping something that starts to be transphobic or homophobic, like, ‘They’re a he/she,’” a second staffer says. “But then [he’ll say], ‘It’s all good, I support it. It’s awesome, live your best life.’ … He toes the line of seeing who will join in and laugh with him, and then if nobody does, really skillfully backpedals.”

Blackman would also make sexist, lewd, and disparaging comments, such as remarks about female staffers’ breast sizes and wondering aloud about their sexual proclivities, sources and the HR complaint claim.“She’s relentless,” Blackman allegedly texted one staffer about another, according to texts that were provided to HR in the complaint and reviewed by Rolling Stone. “I’m sure that’s good for certain things… but in the room it’s exhausting. But … the rack.”

Don’t know how to feel about the ending of The Umbrella Academy. I know I definitely want to see more of these actors in the future. Aiden Gallagher was phenomenal as Five and was so young. Weirdly young. I feel old watching him, but he played being in his sixties emotionally so well that I feel young in comparison.

But yeah, I feel very unsettled and I don’t know how to take it. It’s a very weird feeling I’m left with.

The Rest Of My Cast Picks for an Actually Good Live Action Adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist

I couldn't really find any big names who are the right age and the right look for Edward, I would ideally imagine him being like, a River Phoenix type but I want someone who's. You know. Alive

So I ended up finding two up and coming young actors who are currently close to Ed's age at the start of the show who gave performances that really impressed me! First one is Cameron Mann, who played Jullianne Nicholson's son in Mare of Easttown, and the second is Jack Nielsen, who played a young Prince William in Spencer!

Walker Scobell might also work once he finishes puberty

I'd love to go back in time and cast season one of stranger things era Noah Schnapp as Alphonse, but for now I think Gregory Mann (voice of GTD!Pinocchio) could be a great choice

I also wish I could go back in time for Winry bc my DREAM choice is Saiorse Ronan from like ten years ago, I also put Sadie Sink and Amybeth McNulty

Obviously I'd probably just cast unknowns for the Resembool trio but I wanted to find examples for fun anyway

please give me options for Armstrong bc right now the ONLY person coming to mind is John Cena

Same with Envy! Aiden Gallagher is the one choice I could think of but I'd love to think of some actual nonbinary actors who exude that chaotic energy

Michelle Yeoh is SO perfect for Izumi on so many levels, I also put down Sandra Oh and Laura Donnelly (True in The Nevers)

Robert Sheehan is a really good fan favorite for OG Greed, but I also think Kit Young (Jesper from Shadow and Bone) and Blake Ritson (Oscar in The Gilded Age) would do really interesting things with the role

Pedro Pascal as Scar is THE typecastiest typecast (Buff emotionally constipated antihero who accidentally adopts small child) but I just couldn't resist. I'd also love to see what Naveen Andrews (Sayid in LOST) would do with him

Sean Bean and Liam Neeson are fan favorites for Hohenheim for a very good reason!!! But I'd also love to see Andreas Pietschmann (Dark, 1899)

Watched seasons 1-3 of the umbrella academy all in one day at 1.5x speed to get caught up for season 4….

And season 4 sucked. They had already dropped the ball for season 3, but season 4 was just bad. To avoid spoilers I’m putting the rest under the cut

Why did they have that mini romance with Five and Lila??? Yeah I get they were together for seven years trying to find a way back to their family and of course feelings could have come up while they were alone that whole time, but Lila was SO ready to go back when she found out Five had found a way. No hesitation. Yeah it was framed as she was going back to her kids, but if she actually had feelings for Five I feel like there would be a bit of hesitation. Then it seemed like she picked Diego in the end with little to no care for Five.

But also their relationship is so iffy cause the actors are 20 and 35 (talk all you want about age gaps being ok, I’m one of those people, but you have to admit a 20 yo and a 35 yo are at WILDLY different stages. Idc if they’re both actors on the same show, maturity wise they are very different. And it puts pressure on Aiden Gallagher. Was he actually okay with this? Did he have a way to say no to the writers if he was uncomfortable with this? You know we’d be making a stink if it was a 20 yo girl cast when she was 15 who now gets in a relationship with a 35 yo man) And the characters themselves are like 58 and 29. PLUS, obviously the actor playing Five has aged in the years that the show has gone on, but canonically, he’s in the body of his 13 year old self at the beginning of season 1. Seasons 1 and 3 happen within a month, so at best Five is 19 from the six years in season 4. Sure, you could argue he’s 26 now cause of the 7 years he and Lila were in the subway, but… idk I’m not liking it

Last thing about the Lila and Five story line: THEIR PLAN DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE! Why were they going BACK to the original timeline, to then travel BACK IN TIME to stop Ben and Jennifer from touching. All that would have changed, at best, was that Reginald didn’t kill the two of them that night, but that wouldn’t have stopped Viktor from blowing up the moon in that timeline NOR would it stop any of the shit from the current timeline they’re in. In Five can just time travel no problem with no repercussions, why not do that in the timeline they’re currently in? Also, how did they spend seven years in the subway but no time passed in the current world. I’m assuming they time travel back after they get to the right timeline, but we’re not shown any of that. (and if they did end up 7 years in the future, wouldn’t they have seen that the world ended?)

Then they left Claire and Diego/Lila’s kids to go to another time line… which should have fucked everything up! They say they fixed it and now there’s just one timeline, so either there was no point in trying to save the kids and the ones we see in the finale are not the ones we’ve gotten to know, or they’ve created another paradox which would make this timeline collapse

AND don’t these kids now fall victim to the grandfather paradox that they tried to fight in season 3?

AND AND, where tf is Sloane? You know, Luther’s wife? I know she disappeared at the end of season 3, but what’s the reasoning behind that??? Why did Sloane stop existing, but everyone else was fine? I would have bought it if Ben didn’t exist either but the other siblings did seeing as Ben and Sloane were from the same timeline, but Ben’s fine.

Why bring Ray back at the end of season 3 only to throw him away in season 4 with a line about him leaving Allison at some point? I genuinely think it would have in character for him to leave after finding out what she did to make him her husband in the present day rather than letting him live out his life in the past, but I wish we had seen that development on camera.

Why did Klaus need to get separated from his family for a good chunk of the season just so we could watch him get pimped out? Why did he immediately try to go back to drugs if we didn’t see ANY of the torment he used to face from the ghosts which pushed him to his addiction in the first place? The only ghost we see is the damn dog days after he gets his powers back. I did love that one scene where he lets his old self come back and is a total dick to Claire cause that’s what addiction does to people, but I wish we had explored that dynamic more.

Other quibbles I have with the season: Why did we waste so much time with Gene and Jean?. What the fuck was Reginald’s wife’s motivation? They try and explain it, but it makes no sense for her to have set this whole thing in motion. Why are she and Reginald aliens? What bearing did that have on this?

And finally: Why did all the siblings spend three seasons trying to overcome their abusive upbringing and making themselves better people, spend 6 years learning to live with their loss of powers and inevitable mediocrity for the good of the world… only to essentially kill themselves at the end? We get to see all of these people who are objectively WAY worse than at least some of the siblings (the Swedish brothers, the handler, other commission members) living their best life now that the siblings are dead. Why? WHY???? Why do they get to have a happy ending and not the characters we’ve been following?

What about the subway station? Is it independent from the original timeline, or any timeline at all? Like in another dimension, like the Commission? Will the subway station be destroyed? Given that it’s the place can only be found by time-jumper like five (or with briefcase?) , it won’t probably show up again but:

What about the other Fives in the delicatessen? Are they gone when their original timelines got destroyed?

Given that all fives can time jump, it means they all have marigold in them. If the subway station and delicatessen are not on any timeline at all and hypothetically reside in a crack of time/space, does it mean they get to keep their marigold and stay in that delicatessen for all time?

If that’s the case, the subway station might still be there, there just won’t be any line… and probably only one exit. And there’s still a chance one of the Fives can get out there, causing mayhem or whatever.

The answer to this might be the grandfather paradox, if the original timeline is never meant to invent marigold at all. No marigold, no umbrellas.

Or the subway station got destroyed and nothing will ever happen. Wouldn’t it be neat? The end.

(How? My theory is FIVE built the subway station to connect the timelines in the first place — he built the commission so an under-time network shouldn’t be hard for him? So when Five dies, his creation dies with him. Grandfather paradox.)

AND WHAT THE FUCK DOES THE LANGUAGE OF THE SUBWAY STATION MEAN?!!!

Note to the writers: please, when you wrote the plot and set the scene, you apparently have ideas but why didn’t you share with the audience in the FINAL SEASON? It’s not a proper way to end a massive comic sensation isn’t?
