So I’m hella excited over the third season coming I just pray we get some more of Din’s feelings about his past, so I finally drew this little thing I’ve been thinking about for a while ;v;

I firmly believe wearing a helmet for your whole life is no reason to not style yourself like you want, so let Din have a mustache if he wants™!, but also I like to think he looks at himself on the mirror and can’t help but think of his dad :’) so he keeps the mustache.

Also pls let Din adopt Grogu and show him his face when they’re alone!!!!

ScareActor!König who’s well known at the local Fright Fest. silent, his hulking figure seemingly appearing out of nowhere - a fake cleaver in his massive hand. he’ll stalk behind people, only making himself known when they notice his shadow looming over them

ScareActor!König who’s good at scaring people and disappearing. it’s almost chilling how a man his size can appear and disappear so fast. if you look around, you might notice König lurking in the shadows around the festival, looking for his next target

ScareActor!König seeing you. you’re walking alone, he isn’t sure if you separated from your group or just came by yourself - either way, he’s slowly following you. he chuckles to himself when another actor spooks you, grins when look down to check your phone

ScareActor!König who thinks about how to startle you. he could do what he always does, simply get behind you and wait for you to notice he there… but his knee pads haven’t seen any use so far

ScareActor!König who decides to have a little fun with you. he moves a little faster, gets ahead of you - still out of sight for the moment. soon enough, König is running at you when you look up from your phone. before he reaches you, he drops to his knees, sliding towards you - silently laughing to himself when you scream and drop your phone

the view that sexual predation is based on 'brain development' rather than life experience and social power is, like the common view that incest is bad because of 'inbreeding' rather than the control granted by the family structure, one where the issues of social power imbalance are replaced by an unhelpful bioessentialism - one that both makes permissions for these abuses (whether it's in the cases of non-blood relatives, or of an 18 year old being exploited by a 50 year old), and targets non-abusive relationships (if the reason for incest's immorality is that it might produce a disabled child, how does that logic continue towards people with inherited illnesses?). working within this essentialist logic, it's impossible to rectify these issues - neither extending the supposed 'undeveloped brain' to greater ages, nor simply deciding that there exists no real power a middle-aged man has over a new graduate, can fix the errors generated.

High Evolutionary truly the most MCU villain of all time. He’s whatever you call an Earth weeb. He’s overly dramatic about everything. He makes his experiments AND his staff call him “sire.” He made an office building out of organic material and makes the guards wear suits that make them look like mutated blood cells. He accidentally created something smarter than he is and went completely feral because he couldn’t do it again. He spent over a decade OBSESSING over one fucking raccoon. He had his face ripped off by that same raccoon and somehow that’s not the thing he’s pissed off about. He created a utopian society of super advanced furries and now they’re dealing meth. The Collector and the Grandmaster probably both think he’s too camp. He created a society of gold egomaniacs just because he could. His own staff turned on him because he blew up EVERYTHING HE OWNED BECAUSE AGAIN HE WAS TRYING TO LOBOTOMIZE ONE RACCOON. He has gravity powers for some reason. He got left to die on his exploding space ship because he was too pathetic to kill. He tortures animals and children. He is basically a god. He is the most wet sock of a villain and I’m fucking living for it.

The more the show progresses, the more I want to see the 90s cast infiltrating the modern timeline. We've gotten hints of it with Shauna and her younger self, her Jackie hauntings. We've gotten a little more with adult Lottie seeing teenage Nat (and Laura Lee), and with Natalie getting teenage Lottie in her final moments. I want more. I want the teen cast to be absolutely invasive on pivotal adult moments, infecting their adult counterparts when least expected. I want Taissa's argument with Van to dissolve into their teenage selves, their bond endless and timeless and inescapable. I want Misty absolutely wrecked by young Natalie lurking around corners, watching from mirrors. I want to see these women unable to navigate adulthood without the specters of their teenage selves cropping up absolutely everywhere, more and more as they let the memories in, as they stop being able to repress the trauma. They didn't grow up. They never could. You are always doomed to regress around your high school teammates. You are haunted by the phantom elements of your misspent youth. It is a comfort, and it is a gift, and it is a trial, and it is a curse. I would love to see that reflected with greater intensity, until the lines blur, until the timelines have no choice but to intersect. They haven't escaped themselves at all. They didn't grow up. They just got older.

im honestly still just as wary about the next season of the witcher even after the table read -

do i think henry cavill was a spectacular match for geralt?

yeah. but not only because of his looks or his acting: he GOT geralt and the witcher in general. he's a massive nerd who knows the franchise like he wrote it himself and was a big reason (not the sole, but a big one) that the show kept on track and was even somewhat faithful to the original material.

but i don't believe cavill did a regé jean-page and like. left to seek stardom or whatever. this was a passion project too for him, you could tell.

no, I'm wary of the future of witcher because of the higher ups involved.

so what DID the people who disagreed so hard with him he quit the project do? well, they needed a 7000 word letter from joey batey and the fanbase pleading just to allow jaskier to be queer like he (pretty much) canonically is. didn't need incentive from anyone to create fake gay motives for the worse villain of the story, though. didn't need incentive to completely ruin one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, or let his actor get harassed on socials after the swap without ever saying shit.

i do not trust that these people, who have proven callous, arrogant and ignorant about both the source material and the opinions of the fanbase (and have made some choices nearing bigotry) and who disagreed so heavily with the actor who knew the source material best are capable of producing a good season 4. liam or no liam. am i hoping he's a good geralt? yes, the series and other actors don't deserve to have their performance harmed by him. can it be as good as the seasons cavill was in? for the reasons cited above: fuck no.
