The night approaches and the night is hungry. Gather what you can while you run and pray you live to see another day.

You used to live in a small peaceful planet, but now something lives in the dark. What remains of your society has become nomadic and you spend your days on an eternal pilgrimage westward, always running away from the hungry night.

The planet is small enough that the curvature is always noticeable, just like in Animal Crossing. Your character, like everyone else, is always on the move, hunting and foraging while they run. The space in your wagon is limited. You have some planters, but not enough to get by. If you wish to farm, you must plant your seeds, mark the spot in your map and pray that next time you're back they are still there. The hungry night rarely gets hungry for other things besides human flesh, but other travelers might harvest them before you return. Same goes for farm animals. You have space for a couple, but the best way to survive is to feed the ones you find along the way. While the best thing for survival is staying on the move, some tasks like mining or chopping trees will require you to stay put for a while. In case of emergency, a sturdy shelter might last a night, perhaps two, but it will eventually be breached, and you won't get much sleep due to whatever is out there trying to claw its way in. You will run into traders, travelers and raiders, sometimes even caravans. The open world is quite big, it takes around ten days to walk around the planet. You can choose to play solo, multiplayer or co-op.

Similar games that actually exist: Minecraft, I guess? There’s some round world seeds out there and you could make the rule to always stay on the move. You won’t be able to outrun the night however.

not to be corny or anything but like, far from morbidly depressing, i find the constant coming and going of animal crossing villagers, the knowledge that tomorrow any of your neighbours, even if you have the highest level of friendship stat with them, can choose to just leave, and some new villager will move into that plot and you'll have to start again, incredibly comforting. like nothing is ever permanent. no situation has to last. people move in and out of each other's lives, they'll meet, be friends, care for each other, and then have to move on and perhaps never see each other again. people also meet for the first time and build new relationships in new, strange places all the time. all these people you could meet! friendships need not be permanent to be valuable. you can always take another chance. you can leave, go somewhere new, a faraway place full of strangers, and you'll be okay. there will be new neighbours who will know your face, invite you into their homes, pick up that thing for you from the shop, bring you medicine when you're sick, sit with you while you eat a snack, take a walk with you, send you something they found and thought you might like (even if it turns out to be a garbage can). the loneliness does not have to last forever. this too shall pass.

So I had to reset my animal crossing island today due to an extra house being forever stuck on my island. (I made a mistake and trapped myself with it..)

After a totally not tearful goodbye to my villagers, I started up my new island with a MUCH more boring name, for some reason.

I have turned into a fishing fiend. I am typing this to prevent myself from fishing some more. I do not have space for all of this.

On my old island, I spent two whole days fishing and somehow acquired an army of scorpions (which I used as parting gifts(I had so many)). I WISH I got pictures, but I was so excited about showing my mom all of the silly creatures I got, that I forgot..

I also went through my switch images and found some fun pictures and videos of my friends and I hanging out. (I didn't get permission to post them, so I won't, but I'll show the ones of just me.) ((by didn't get permission, I mean I didn't ask))

I believe I had posted that last one before. ... Actually I think I posted all of them before.

I do not remember the clam one, and when I found it, I thought it was the funniest thing ever.

I might post more pictures of my old and new island better, but for now, I am either going to go to sleep or continue fishing!! Goodnight!!

🪙 The tanuki admittedly does not have much time to focus on relationships with his focus entirely on his career. His time in the city had ended badly, and it was his chance to begin again back in his hometown. The shop and his (failing) real estate ventures were the only things on his mind, barring the two kids he had taken in as well. He was a busy man with financial struggles. A relationship truly was the furthest thing on his mind.

🪙 Well, until a certain newcomer moved to town. A call from Rover asking him to give a hand gave him an opportunity to finally offload some of the useless real estate he was sitting on and make some money from it. Of course, life was cruel, and they were broke. Even working part-time under him barely got their mortgage down to a reasonable price. Though, they seemed extremely determined to work it off. Their presence became a frequent quest in his store, often to chat and barter. It was only after seeing you gently handle Timmy and Tommy that he began to grasp something odd. He quite liked them despite everything.

🪙 PDA is not something the older man is admittedly a fan of. Though, at the same time, he barely has the energy to reject it. He lets you do whatever to him as long as it is not in front of customers or business partners. Your arms around him and face nuzzled into his shoulder was overwhelming, but he was far too uninterested in prying you from him. Kisses pecked to his face were simply a part of his life. Though, if one watched closely, they may see his tail start to wag. He regularly greets you with a simple kiss despite his more iffy-ness on public affection.

🪙 In private, he is a bit more open. An arm is often around you as he finds himself a bit more interested in touch. If you are ever doing anything, you may find yourself embraced from behind as a kiss is pressed to your head. Other times, you would find yourself pulled into his lap as he cuddles with you for an extended period. He is always busy, no matter what. Having these moments with you almost certainly feels of grand importance to him, cuddling is simply a nice way to unwind after his long hours. Any sleeping activities also involve large amounts of cuddling. He is quite affectionate in the right environment.

🪙 Just the same as in public, you have free rein to do whatever to the businessman. He simply has no energy to reject it and quite typically enjoys the doting affection. Kisses pressed all over his face while sitting in his lap results in a sigh from him. Tight hugs to bury your face into his chest. He simply brings his arms around you and enjoys the affection. Admittedly, he quite enjoys the positive attention since his customers can be quite hard to please despite his best efforts. Your adoration truly warms his heart.

🪙 Dates… Often times, it is simply a walk out together through the town. There is not much to do, after all. Though, he does quite enjoy trips to The Roost with you where you both languidly enjoy a coffee and each other's presence. Most of all, when he has a moment away from his work, he does wish to spend it with you. He may wander the museum at your side or enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach. (Though, notably, after the town becomes more developed and his career shifts solely to real estate, he often frequents the places on Main Street alongside you. After the Deserted Island Getaway, he often enjoys exploring other islands with you.)

🪙 Nook is not the jealous sort. Why would he be? His confidence in himself is plain as can be. Besides, you pursued him, and that alone assures him there is no need to worry of you straying away from him. His trust in you is truly high. Though, one person sets him off. Seeing Redd literally anywhere near you makes him rush over his astonishing speed and put himself between you both. He has no interest in letting that fox anywhere near you. Even you mentioning purchasing from him leads to a chiding rant about how untrustworthy he is. It is the one time you can ever see him flustered, so enjoy it.

🪙 Domestic moments are quite frequent. He would argue that your relationship with him is built on them. You began bringing him lunches during his long shifts after upgrading his store to Nook'N'Go, and that has stayed a tradition since. Isabelle often giggles at the sight of you popping into Resident Services to drop off a meal for the tanuki. He seems quite excited to take it and have a moment with his partner. Your presence in his life was truly a booster to his ability to work. You even help him take care of Timmy and Tommy, of which he was extremely grateful for. In his heart, he really felt like he had achieved everything needed in his personal life.

🪙 In truth, your unyielding support in his endeavours played a small part in his ability to grow his small-town shop into the land development business it was now. He truly feels that you are an important presence in his life, even if you started off as a debtor to him. Everything from how you helped him with the boys to generally helping with the economics of his shop (by shopping and selling) helped him immensely in his early days. For that, you truly do have his heart.

🪙 Your relationship with the tanuki goes from tumultuous and a bit awkward to something of true domestic bliss. Nook does really love you and respect you as his partner, but he can be a bit distant with his work unintentionally. He never wishes for you to feel unwanted, though. It often surprises people when he mentions his partner since he never really speaks on his personal life. Though anyone who has seen you visit him knows truly how loved the man is. You end up settled happily into a patchwork family with a loving husband. Just let him handle the finances. He can be quite demanding on that.

cozy games for spooky people

i'm a tried and true cozy gamer and i also love halloween, and upon dicussing with a friend i figured i'd make a little list of cozy games i've played that have a good vibe for spooky season. disclaimer that i am a sucker who likes most games so proceed with caution and watch gameplay reviews. what these games all have in common is that they are spooky and i like them :)

cozy grove - a real time game a la acnh or dreamlight valley that has you fulfilling the post-death wishes of your neighbors (spirits) that appear to you as bears.

wytchwood - this is essentially a fetch quest game with some crafting mechanics, but the art style is like out of a storybook and it kind of feels like if over the garden wall came to life. an interesting story at the heart of it too!

little witch in the woods - what it says on the tin: you're a witch, you're in the woods. farming sim elements but you're the wizard in the tower

potion permit - i'll admit i haven't actually played this game yet but it's been in my library forever because of this aspect of the story: you're an alchemist and the townspeople HATE you because of what previous alchemists have done to their town.

spiritfarer - technically this one's not as spooky but this is my favorite game of all time so on here it goes. a heartwrenching, beautiful, cathartic story where you play as stella, who takes over for charon, ferrying souls into the afterlife. also this soundtrack is simply incredible

the cosmic wheel sisterhood - this is more of a visual novel but it's great. you play as fortuna, a witch 200 years into a 1000 year exile, who makes a deal with a behemoth to end it early. you dictate your own future as well as that of your coven with EVERY single choice you make

graveyard keeper - i also haven't actually played this one but it's in my library and it comes recommended! management sim but you're managing a graveyard, enough said

wylde flowers - one of the most unique farming sims i have ever played. you move back to manage your aging grandmother's farm....except surprise! you're also a witch, and you have to learn magic and fix whatever's going on in the island as well as manage your farm

My Rants and Reviews on the Failtopia S2 Finale Outfits!

Major Failtopia Season 2 spoilers ahead!

Mar

yeah it’s the basic one, but i think that fits him! If I had to pick another outfit it would be the Pro one, but I genuinely can’t see him in anything else other than the boring chef outfit. I feel like if he wanted to change it he def could (I mean look at his imp outfit) but the basic chef outfit is very solid for him! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! 7/10

Orion

I know the outfit is very clashing and has a bunch of colors, but in Dan’s defense: Orion’s makeup already has a bunch of colors, and when you look into it the colors the outfit has actually matches with the makeup a bit! and also, I kinda wish Dan didn’t have the makeup be as out there for the sake of those drawing fanart, but at the same time this is Daniel Failboat. Insane designs are expected. That being said though, I can’t change the clothes or makeup even if you forced me to. the context for it is just so freakin cute!! we all love great fathers in this household. He makes me wish I had a meaningful relationship with my dad. 6/10

Friend

I like it! I have a few minor gripes though. This may be a bit of a hot take, but I don’t like Zone (the hat) or Ship (the staff). Not in the Finale at least. I think Friend should’ve removed them both to show that they’ve moved on and don’t need something like Lee anymore. Symbolism and character arcs and all that other fancy stuff idk. Also I like that she looks more like a priest than a Cleric, it makes sense! He’s really religious in-universe and their war cry is literally “die, sinner :)”, so I don’t have any problems with that! As much as I like her in purple, he looks oddly good in a black and white outfit too! 8/10

Shrimp

listen guys I’m sorry but her outfit kinda sucks.. the bright pink hearts don’t really give off the same vibes as her first outfit did.. I get where Dan was coming from with it but I just personally don’t like the design :((

I think that he should’ve went with the emo goth outfit for her instead, especially since it fit her more and the fandom latched onto it like a moth to a light, but that’s just me. it gets a free half point for matching up with Bill though, 3.5/10

Erica

look I love it but the actual armor part is so overdesigned. I hate drawing that thing. that’s my only problem though the rest of her outfit is cool as hell!! Let’s go lesbians. 8/10

(and this doesn’t really count for anything, but don’t like her weapon, again I get the idea Dan, but she realistically would NOT use the giant arm 😭)

Chi

This kind of outfit fits her so well omfg. The stupid bowtie? The short sleeves and general lack of lab safety?? The triangle patterns??? It all just screams “Chi” to me! Thank you Miitopia for creating this outfit. Flawless. 10/10

(also another weapon mention, her using the ketchup bottle in the finale?? as someone who is obsessed with S1 of this series, Daniel, ty sm for including that.)

C!Failboat

the catsuit is very boring, but it is also very iconic. I like it. I’d give it a solid 7/10. But I don’t wanna talk about that one. I wanna talk about his outfit when using the Power of the Scythe.

oh my lord. this outfit. this is not me dunking on Daniel or Wafferscotch at all, I genuinely love their art and content!! but like. you’re telling me this man saved the universe in tracksuit sweatpants and an open button up shirt WITH HIS OWN MERCH ON??? He killed god in the Bee Movie shoes?? The Piss Adidas??? It just. doesn’t really fit the Miitopia vibes to me, and I think this could’ve been better as an outfit for ACNH. It could’ve looked much worse, but still. I think it’s a 3/10

perfect. love the callback to Rose (and I mean, they’re very similar characters, so it makes sense!) She also looks cool af in a suit. her new look can be strange at first but you 100% get used to it with time. And her multiclass was just chefs kiss. Absolute goddess, let’s go lesbians. 10/10

Chat

very good. very iconic. so glad this series came out before the Kirby Era cuz i think the lips would’ve ruined it. 10/10

Big Bill

It looks really comfortable!! I want this robe irl, I like the patterns! I surprisingly really like the pink for Bill! It stands out compared the rest of his appearance and I think that’s really cool!! the dark blue also fits him really well!! Half point bonus for matching with Shrimp. 9.5/10

you should at least be vaguely familiar with my em. every single au and whatever hetalia character i feel like grabbing for that day goes in there. interesting little tidbit that somehow hasn't come up so far is that in more human AUs of mine he's part irish! ~20% of icelandic males and 60% of females actually have irish/keltic ancestry!!! ireland being his mom hc is going WILD in me. he's also very magic because that headcanon singlehandedly started the ice obsession in me. how well in tune he is with it and how exactly it looks like depends on the au . i also make him closer friends with swe and fin because i can👍

Mikael started out as a swedish micronation oc but we don't talk about that. he has a chicken called omelette because of inside jokes during... my wattpad era... shudders. i project onto him a lot and lots of his design is just wish fullfillment. while i love my ocs suffering and angst, because i put so much of myself in him, ultimately, his story is one of healing. major point of difference between us though is that his parents abandoned him and mine... didn't.do.that. 💀👍

Firenze is... idk he just happened in one history lesson in 2018 and now he's here. bunny boy with lots of responsibilities around the palace!!!
